Chapter 9: The Legendary Sword
Dhaschill Village, Dalonton Nation, 27 April Year 1468
Edgar and his students decided to spend some time away from Olisberg Village for a change. They rented a room in a Sandy Huntress inn. They go out to explore the Dhaschill Village finding various shops in the market area. A particular museum caught their attention. A swords and other weapons museum.
"Sensei, we have to visit this place. I have never seen weapons in person." Reid insisted.
Edgar agrees and the others follow behind him.
Weapons like swords, axes and war hammers were placed on display. The museum was mostly empty there were only a few visitors.
"Sensei did you use any weapons?" Reina asked.
"My conjured bone staff is enough for me. But some of the soldiers in my units did use swords." Edgar answered.
The trio saw a large display that had a unique sword. The description plate said that it was a legendary sword of water.
"What does the legendary sword of water even means?" Reid asked.
"It's probably fake, it's to draw out more visitors." Ray said
A Quagsire cleared his throat. "You are right! The museum owner exclaimed. But totally wrong. This is a replica of a legendary sword of water."
"Legendary sword of water? Have you been drinking early morning?" Ray asked.
"No, he is telling the truth. The legendary swords do exist. There is one in the Fepusa capital. They have a legendary sword of fire and I have seen it in action." Edgar said.
"Finally, someone who knows something. Oh, I haven't introduced myself. My name is Talinzo and I'm the owner of this museum. Long ago there were eighteen swords forged. Each sword was given a different type of power. Like the water sword will use water type move and fire one will be able to give fire type move. There is very little knowledge about where these artifacts came from or who forged them."
"What would a normal type sword be like?" Reina asked.
"I bet It would be like just a normal sword we see here. Same with steel type sword." Ray chuckled.
Talinzo got angry at Ray's comment. "I see that you still don't believe me. As I said there is very limited knowledge about this. If you still don't believe me I can tell you the location of the sword of water. So that you can see it with your own eyes."
"If you knew where this sword is then why didn't you keep the original in the museum?" Reina asked.
"The sword is protected by an Ursaring. I hired many treasure hunters to claim it but none of them were able to defeat it. You folks look strong, especially you, Lucario. I will even pay you for that if you retrieve it for me."
"I refuse. I don't take requests for fees. However, I am intrigued to see another legendary sword. We will do it for free." Edgar said.
"Thank you." Talinzo bowed. "The mystery dungeon is not that far away. Follow me." He takes the replica sword and takes it with him.
"Why are you taking the replica with you." Edgar asked.
"I would like to see how different it would be. I made it as closer to what description I had." Talinzo replied.
As Talinzo steps out of the museum he bumps into a Donphane who was accompanied by a Linoone and a Karrablast. "Hey, watch where you are going." Talinzo yelled. Ah, it's you three. Good thing I met you here. I no longer need your service. You can keep the advance I paid you. Farewell.
The Donphane blocked the museum owner's path. "Hey, what's this about?"
"I found someone better for the job and they are willing to do it for free. Like I said you can keep the advance as compensation."
"Is that so? Then we have decided to find it first and keep that sword for ourselves."
"Good luck trying to find the sword without my information." Talinzo laughed.
Hollowed Rock, Dhaschill Dessrt, Dalonton Nation, 27 April Year 1468
Four kilometers away from Dhaschill village is a Hollowed Rock mystery dungeon. Talizo leads Edgar and his students into a mystery dungeon. The three treasure hunters followed after them.
"Ever been to a mystery dungeon?" Talinzo asked.
"I have been into many mystery dungeons." Edgar said
"This is our second one." Reid said.
"We are being followed." Ray said
They look around to see the treasure hunters from before behind them
"Hey, why are you following us?" Talinzo yelled.
"We just decided to visit this mystery dungeon. Is there a rule that we can't go into one?
"Let them follow we can't forcefully remove someone just because they followed us. I don't think they will cause any trouble."

The mystery dungeon had a sandy terrain almost desert-like. Few ground-type Pokemon noticed the group. Five Geodude charged at the group.
Two Geodude rolled towards Edgar. He fires an Aura Sphere and knocks out one.
A Geodude uses Rock Throw at Talinzo. Ray jumps in and uses Force Palm to divert the attack.
Another Geodude attacks Reid and Reina. The Geodude rolls at the two of them. Reina uses her psychic power to stop Geodude's attack. Reid finishes off with two karate chops.
The last Geodude attack the treasure hunters. Their leader Donphan uses Defence Curl to protect against a Tackle attack. The Donphan switches to Ice Fang and freezes Geodude. A Rollout followed by finishes the rock type.
Ray continues to fight his opponent. Ray attacks with Force Palm. The Geodude tanks with Defense Curl. Talinzo fires a powerful water gun and Ray follows it up with Force Palm.
"Still got the moves!" Talinzo said to himself. He looks at Edgar and finds out he has defeated the last Geodude.
Final floor
The final floor was a plane land with desert sand. At the center was a rocky area. An Urasing was resting on it. Rocky steps lead to a high ground where a sword was put on display
"There it is!" Talinzo exclaimed.
The three treasure hunters rushed towards the sword.
"Hey wait!" Talinzo shouted. The others followed behind them.
Just as the Donphan was about to step on the rocky surface. The Ursuring guarding the sword roared. The ground type took a step back.
"Hey what do you think you are doing? We were here first." Talinzo raised his voice.
"We came to this area first." Donphan said.
"We also helped defeat feral Pokemons." The Linonne said.
"We defeated more feral than you." Ray rebutted.
"You had more members." The Karrablast pointed.
"Calm down both of you." Edgar intervened. "That Ursaring is not going to let us take the sword without a fight. So we should take our turns trying to take the sword. Any problem with that? I'll flip a coin. The winner gets to decide who goes first."
"No, we agree." Donphan said.
"But we… ok fine." Ray reluctantly agreed.
Edgar tosses a coin.
"I'll take heads." The Donphane said.
"Tails for me." Ray said.
The coin spins and lands. It's heads.
"I'll go first." The Donphane said.
As soon as the treasure hunter leader stepped on rocky terrain the Ursaring roared. The treasure gulped. He knew there was no backing down now.
The Ursaring charged with a slash attack. The Donphane shielded himself using Defense Curl.
The treasure hunter grunted. "I didn't think this Pokemon would be that strong." He switched to rollout and charges.
"He is using rollout already?" The Karrablast commented
"Put some faith in him, He knows what he is doing." said the Linnone.
"Using rollout would leave him defenseless against a counterattack." Ray commented.
The treasure hunter hits the Ursaring but it seems to be barely hurt by it. The Donphane charges with a second rollout. The Ursaring uses Hammer Arm to smash the ground type to the ground. The normal type attacks with a Slash. The Donphan uses Defense Curl but it was futile.
Donphane uses Ice Fang and it freezes Ursaring, The treasure hunter charges hyper beam and fires at the hibernator pokemon.
The treasure hunter pants. The move consumed a lot of energy.
The ice around the Ursaring cracks and it breaks free. It charges toward the ground type and hits him with Hammer Arm. The Donphane was sent flying across the sand. The Ursaring goes back to rest.
The treasure hunter's friend rushes towards him.
'Boss are you ok." cried the Karrablast.
"I'm fine." The Donphane assured. "I give up. Lucario you can have your turn."
Edgar nodded "You fought well. I'll go"
"Wait! I'll do it." Ray intervene
"Are you sure about it?" Edgar asked. "That Ursaring is strong."
"I'm sure about it. I just want to see how far I have come. Last time we barely managed to defeat the bandit lieutenant."
Edgar nods. "Go for it. If things get bad ill bail you."
"Sensei you can't be serious about letting him go." Reina showed her concern.
"No ray has decided and I'm not stopping him now."
Ray steps on the rocky area surrounding the sword. The Ursaring roared and charged at him.
"That Ursaring has odd behavior. For some reason, it seems to be attached to the sword. He only attacks when someone gets closer to it." Reid commented.
"There must be a reason it is protecting that sword. We may find more information above." Talinzo added.
The Ursaring uses Slash but Ray simply dodges and counters with Quick Attack. The Ursuring barely budged from it. The Ursaring switches to Hammer Arm. Ray dodges and counters with Force Palm. The Ursaring staggers.
"That seems to be doing some damage." Ray said to himself.
Ray jumps in for another force palm but the Ursaring grabs Ray's hand and slams him onto the ground.
"Ray!" Reina cried.
The Ursaring tosses ray in the air and hits him with Hammer Arm. Ray falls on the rocky area. He is unable to move because that hit knocked the wind out of him.
The Ursaring walks towards ray.
"Help him!" Talinzo cried.
"Not yet." Edgard said
The Ursaring charges his Hammer Arm and prepares to hit ray. Ray dodges at the last moment.
Ray closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "Alright, my turn."
Ray makes ten to twenty copies of himself confusing his opponent. It was Double Team.
The Ursuring attacked Ray with Slash but it was just an afterimage. Suddenly the real body of ray sneaks in and attacks with Force Palm. Ray repeats this many times.
Frustrated the Ursaring uses Hammer Arm on a nearby boulder. The impact causes the debris from the boulder to scatter everywhere. Which causes Ray's clones to vanish. The Ursaring sees ray and charges at him with another hammer arm.
"Uh oh!" Ray dodges and climbs on the normal types. He jumps and uses Force Palm from both of his hands. Making a direct hit on Ursuring's head. The Ursaring drops to its knees and falls to the ground unconscious.
Ray pants. "Finally it's done."
The others rush by Ray's side.
"Ray, are you okay?" Reina asked.
"I think I'll be fine." Ray looks towards the sword. "Now back to the reason we came here for."
"I think you deserve to be the one who gets it first." Talinzo said.
"Wait! You cheated." Cried the Karrablast. "The only reason you were able to beat that Ursaring Is because our boss weakened it first."
"Stop! It's okay. I admit that even if I didn't go first you would still be able to defeat it. You won fair and square."
Ray nods and turns his attention toward the sword. He climbs the stairway. He grabs the sword and pulls it out. He examines it and water starts to flow from the tip of the blade. It magically vanishes at the guard. He points it down and water starts flowing from the guard and disappears at the tip.
"Fascinating!" Ray thought to himself. He swings the sword in the air. A blade of water is fired at a rock unknown to Ray the blade of water cuts clean through it.
"How did you do it." Reid asked
"I don't know I swear."
"Stop swinging that sword in the air, now! Edgar yelled.
"Sorry I'll stop doing that before someone gets hurt."
"He must have tapped into the power of the legendary sword without knowing it. See do you believe now that the legendary swords do exist?" Talinzo asked.
"Alright, I do agree. Sorry about what I said earlier." Ray turns around and sees a grave of some Pokémon. The grave seems to be dug out by Pokémon who doesn't know dig move.
"Hey, there is something you have to see." Ray calls everyone.
Edgar looks at the grave. "Odd place to bury someone. My intuition says that this grave is off the sword owner."
"Maybe that Ursaring was protecting the grave and not the sword." Reina added.
"Could be but we shouldn't be here too long. Who knows when that Ursaring will wake up?" Reid suggested.
"I agree." Talinzo said.
"Wait! Talinzo, can you give me that replica sword? You won't need that any longer do you? Ray interrupted.
"Sure, I don't know what you want it for. Talinzo shrugged and hands it to Ray.
He puts the replica back where the real sword was.
"Why did you do that for?" The Donphane asked.
"I feel bad for taking it away from the Ursaring. Who knows how long it has protected it."
Edgar looks at ray proudly "I'm proud of you Ray."
Museum of Dhaschil Village, Dhaschill Village, Dalonton Nation, 27 April Year 1468
Ray hands the sword to Talinzo. "Here, take care of it."
"I will. All thanks to you. I finally have the legendary sword of water. With this, my museum will be more famous than ever. You four are welcome to stay anytime you want." Talinzo expressed his gratitude.
"I would love to but we have to go back to our rooms." Edgar refused.
"Come on sensei you really want to go to that boring rooms." Reid said.
"Please will you at least have dinner with us?" Talinzo agreed.
"Ok fine." Edgar agreed.
"Yes!" The trio cheered.
