Dark Gothic Lolita: To be honest, I can't believe it either, haha! And thank you so much for your review and your kind words! I'm not too particularly proud of that chapter but I just felt like I needed to get something out so that I can get out of my writing funk, but I'm so relieved that you liked it! And thank you, you're so kind! I am doing a lot better now, and I hope everything's all right on your end as well! o(*°▽°*)o

Summer Nickels: Thank you so much for your kind words! And haha, I'll see if I can get more NaVia stories out as soon as this one's done or close to finished! o(^▽^)o

Chapter 6

A thud startles Juvia from her thoughts, causing her to jump slightly at the unexpected noise. It is an early Wednesday morning and the bluenette is in the library, studying for an upcoming exam. Because of the early hour, there aren't as many students as it would be during the afternoon. She scowls as she lifts her eyes from the page that she had been reading, a retort ready on the tip of her tongue. When she realizes who it is, however, her scowl disappears into that of a pout.

"Gajeel-kun, don't do that! You scared me!" She huffs as she sets down her textbook and attempts to clear some space off of her table to make room for Gajeel's things, including the stack of books that he had dropped onto the table. "What are you doing here this morning? Juvia thought that you had class right now."

The man in question grunts as he settles down in the chair across from her. "Got canceled." He shrugs, tossing his backpack haphazardly next to him. "Shrimp hasn't been shutting up the entire week about you having a crush on some guy."

"Ju-Juvia doesn't have a crush!" She protests rather loudly, earning her several hissed "shh's" and glares from the other students, much to the delight of her best friend, who is 'gihihi'-ing at her. "Oh, hush, Gajeel-kun!" Juvia whispers, fiercely.

"So Shrimp was right." Gajeel has thankfully, stopped laughing at her, although his smug smirk is just as irritating. "Who's the loser, anyway?"

"He is not a loser." Juvia glares at him. "And it isn't a crush. Well, not really." She adds, seeing a pierced, quirked eyebrow that is sent her way. "Juvia doesn't know him that well. We just started talking a few weeks ago whenever he comes by to the shop and he just gave Juvia his phone number this past Monday." She clarifies for the raven-haired male.

"Hmmph." The pierced male harrumphs, leaning back into his chair. "Do you like him, though?"

"W-Well, he's very funny and nice - "

"That's what you said the last time about that scumbag, Bora." He interrupts, scoffing, just as she cringes at the sudden memory of her high school freshmen self excitedly telling her best friend about how wonderful Bora was, despite his many warnings.

"But he's different from Bora, Gajeel-kun." Juvia insists, and even though she doesn't know Natsu for that long, there's something inside of her that is just so confident about that statement - there's something inside of her that just knows that. "He really is very funny and - "

"Yeah, yeah, that's what they all say. But that's not what I meant. Do you like him?" He repeats his question.

"Juvia...Juvia doesn't know." The bluenette confesses. And she is telling the truth. She really does not know how she feels about Natsu. But what she does know is that she enjoys his company and that she hasn't felt this light and happy in so long.

"Ameonna." The seriousness of Gajeel's voice startles Juvia out of her musings as she looks up to meet his ruby eyes, which are looking at her with such intensity. "Be careful, okay? I don't want you to end up like how you were when you were dating that scumbag of an ex-boyfriend."

A gentle smile breaks out from Juvia's lips. "Thank you, Gajeel-kun, Juvia will be careful, don't worry."

He huffs. "Good. If he hurts you in any way, you better let me know so that I can go and beat him up 'til you can't even tell who he is anymore."

"Please don't do that, Gajeel-kun." A giggle escapes her lips in spite of herself, although the smile is still in place. They've been best friends since high school and even with the amount of teasing that she suffers under him, moments like this remind Juvia of why he'll always be her best friend - he'll always have her back no matter what.

"Hmmph." He harrumphs again and as touching as the last moment had been, Juvia knows that something's up with Gajeel. He has a glimmer of mischief in his eyes that she knows all too well, which means that he's thinking of teasing her pretty soon. Any minute now - "Continue studying. He wouldn't want to date you if you're dumb."

Yep, there's the Gajeel that Juvia knows.

"Hey, Juvia, I just realized something. Our majors are the opposite of each other. Like, I'm fire and you're water." Natsu blurts out rather randomly. They are currently at the Element 4 Café - because where else would they be? - and are taking a break from homework. Or at least Natsu is. Juvia has been doing homework non-stop the entire time there, with the exceptions of running the register whenever a customer comes into the shop.

"Hmm..." Juvia ponders on his observation before replying back. "You're right, Natsu-san, we are opposites."

"Of course I'm right!" She giggles at his loud declaration and a toothy grin is thrown her way as a result. "That's so cool though, huh? I've never met someone with a water major."

"Marine Science." Juvia corrects him, giggling. "Juvia is sure that there must be a lot of Marine Science majors at Fairy Tail, though, Natsu-san. Juvia isn't special."

"Hey, don't say that!" Natsu chides. "Well, sure, there may be lot of water majors out there, but none of them are like you, Juvia."

"Th - Thank you, Natsu-san." The bluenette stammers, averting her gaze away from him as heat surges to her cheeks. Kami, has she always been this pathetic that a simple compliment leaves her a blushing mess?

"It's nothing!" The pink-haired male grins. "Anyway, you know what they say about water and fire."

She shakes her head, uncertainly. "No? That water extinguishes fire?" The girl guesses, raising an eyebrow.

"What? No. That opposites attract. Guess that explains why we go along so well." Natsu lets out another toothy grin. "Well, I'm feeling fired up to get back to studying now. That break was refreshing!" He averts his gaze back to the textbook in front of him, unaware of a red-faced Juvia behind the counter, still in shock of the words that had just left his lips.

Juvia rips the envelope seal, painfully slow, so that the envelope can be as near perfect as it was when she first receives it. It doesn't work out, as always, as her ripping skills are horrible and she is left with an envelope that looks as if a dog had chewed it out. 'Oh, well', she thinks as she pulls out what's really important from the envelope, 'there's always next time.'

...

My Other Half,

I still can't forget you, but I'm working on it.

Yours always,

Your Faithful Idiot

End of Chapter 6.

(9/5/21): Hello, friends, thank you for making it to the end of the sixth chapter of 'Letter to Apartment 400'! Aren't you glad that it only took me 3 months to update instead of 10, haha? ~(_。)\ All jokes aside though, I really do appreciate all of you making it this far in this small work of mine! And while you're at it, why don't you leave a review, huh? Eh, eh? ο(=•ω<=)ρ⌒

Anyways, how 'bout that BROTP moment with Gajeel and Juvia, huh? Let's be honest, we all need a friend as supportive and protective as Gajeel. And not to mention how stinking cute Natsu and Juvia are? And how oblivious Natsu is about the effect he has on people? That's cute.

Well, I don't have much to say, but again, please leave me a review of what you thought and I'll see you in the next chapter! Ciao~! ╰( ̄ω ̄o)
