Bo and Lauren

Bo was on her side looking out the window. Lauren was still asleep, and she didn't want to wake her. She breathed slowly so the movement wouldn't stir the Doctor either. They had only slept last night, and she was wondering if Lauren was afraid to because they were in Sam's house. Or if she was still being distant despite telling Bo she was still in love with her. Bo's life had changed in a matter of hours. First she thought she was dying of something. Then Sam called in reinforcements, and Lauren was the last to show up.

Lauren had actually slept through the night without a single nightmare. Bo had stayed up to watch Lauren fall asleep. Her face looked so peaceful, and it made Bo smile. What is not making her smile is the uncertainty. The uncertainty of what she wants to do. Lauren is here because she is. She and Sam had fished enough that he can have fish for weeks.

They can't keep going like this. It's not really fair to Lauren. She's a Doctor. A powerful one, but still a Doctor. Something she was long before she met Bo, and vice versa. The Succubus loves Sam more than she ever thought she could, and he is starting to look like Bo's in the way. She saw that even before she turned ill for a bit. She inadvertently moved and felt Lauren move too.

"I am so sorry. Go back to sleep sweetie". Bo rolled over, rubbed Lauren's back and kissed the spot she rubbed.

"You're up early. Something you want to talk about? Lauren mumbled.

"I was just thinking it is time to go. Go home and live our lives. Dad looks tired of me, and I really feel like we are holding him back from what he really wants to be doing". Bo said quietly.

"He's probably worried about you Bo." Lauren replied.

"I know. But he looked like that before I became ill." Bo rolled over again and opened her arm for Lauren to cuddle up against her.

"Do you think he's starting to miss Mary? Lauren asked curiously.

"No. I really think he's done with her. I'm just worried he's ill or something and won't tell me". Bo sadly pouted.

"Well let's get showered and go ask him. It smells like breakfast is almost ready". Lauren stretched and sat up in the bed.

Bo nodded and followed her lead. She grabbed an outfit and sat on the bed while Lauren showered first. She could have joined her but didn't want to give Sam the impression that they were having shower sex.

Twenty minutes later, they met Sam outside on his patio deck.

"Good morning girls! Sam smiled.

"Good morning! Bo and Lauren smiled back.

He held out their chairs until they were both seated. Bo's eyes lit up as she looked at the breakfast spread before them.

"Eat". Sam took a few sips of his orange juice and dug into his own plate. "You two are awfully quiet".

Bo swallowed hard and looked at him. "You're not sick are you dad?

"No. I feel fine why? Sam asked.

"I just wanted..needed to know". Bo lowered her head shly.

"Bo? Sam said gently.

"I was telling Lauren that it is time for us to go home because I feel like I am keeping you from something. I'm not a little girl anymore. You don't need to be looking after me. Although I do love and appreciate you for calling in help when I was ill." Bo said as gently as she could.

"I won't lie to you Bo. My boys have been calling but I won't dump my number one girl for them. I have enjoyed having you here. If you are ready to go, go. I won't think any less of you". Sam smiled softly.

Bo was torn. She wanted to stay but if she stayed that meant Lauren would stay too. Besides Aife, she had her entire family with her, and it sucked knowing she was going to have to leave Sam. He's not Fae like they are.

"Dad I really wish you would…could move to Toronto. I want you close to me. To us". Bo sighed. She didn't know what else to say.

"I love it here Bo. My old and some newer friends are here." Sam replied.

"We don't have to live in Toronto". Lauren stepped forward.

Bo's eyes went wide, and she looked back and forth between Sam and Lauren.

"Dr. Lewis your lab and work is there. Your heart is there." Bo said stepping closer to the Doctor.

"And a part of yours is here. With him." Lauren smiled and pointed to Sam. She saw Bo struggling to leave or even think of leaving Sam. They hadn't even packed up Bo's things yet. They were sitting out on the patio having breakfast in the nice weather.

"Dad's getting older. He's a human. I'm going to lose him. I want to spend as much time with him as possible. That would be a lot easier if he lived in Toronto." Bo said quietly.

"I don't want to be Fae if that is what you are getting at. I don't want to live on this earth forever. Besides you will have a family of your own to keep you busy. Don't worry about the old man young lady." Sam smiled gently tapping Bo's hand.

"No. I wouldn't ask you to do that." Bo shook her head gently. Look at what it had done to Taft. Turn him into an even bigger asshole. But that wasn't Lauren's doing. The guy was a dick from the start.

"A longer life span without Fae genetics? Lauren asked.

"No. Not that either." Sam shook his head and grabbed his drink.

Bo and Lauren ate their food. They didn't want to push. Lauren certainly wasn't in a position to push. She knew where her parents were. Bo didn't have that luxury for years. Then when she found Aife, the only piece left was her father. What a bastard he was too. Sam is the only real father Bo has known and loved. If she really needs him in her life more, the good Doctor would do all that she could to make that happen.

"We could just get you a house in Toronto and you can come and go as you please or need. That way you will have your own space and won't have us crowding you. We will see that is kept in good condition. Nobody will go in it without your request or permission." Lauren suggested as she took a sip of juice.

"That would work! Bo perked up. She really did want Sam in her life more but didn't want to assume Lauren would be ready for it too. If she was honest with herself, she and Lauren still have issues of their own to deal with, and Sam doesn't deserve to be in the middle.

"I will agree to that. But it can't be nothing fancy or girlish. I like my fishing holes, and so forth." Sam chimed in once he let the idea marinate inside of his head.

"Okay. Why don't you get someone to sketch what you would like, have them sent to me, and we'll get it done." Bo smiled. She worried about Sam a lot but didn't want to let him in on that. Humans had always worried her. Hell, Lauren worried her as a human. She had fallen so madly in love with her that she dreaded the day the Doctor was going to die, and now she's not. Ever.

"I can work on that right now. Lauren snapped her fingers and within seconds she had designs stretched across the lawn. They all laughed and stood up and walked over to them.

"The bathroom and living room need to be a little bigger. The garage looks fine as is." Sam said quietly. He half blushed over all the fuss the girls were making over him.

"Okay." Lauren snapped her fingers again, and Sam gave a thumbs up when he saw what he wanted.

"Now we just need to find a huge empty lot back home." Bo said softly. She could almost cry at how quickly Lauren came up with the plans.

"We'll find one, and we can always text a picture of the area to Sam if he doesn't want to go back when we do. But no rush." Lauren raised her hands to show she wasn't trying to hurry anyone or push.

Bo rolled her tongue in her mouth. They do have the means and opportunity to build Sam a house to his wants and needs. He didn't want to be Fae. That she understood but he was getting older every day. Something she never had to worry about. She is not going to have him forever, but she does have him for right now.

"Okay. Let's do that. We can get out of here, and on to it". Bo smiled as she dug into her plate again. She had one last bite left and didn't want Sam's human food to be wasted.

"I know a few empty lots. I will text Aife and have those areas secured before anyone else can start their own projects." Lauren pulled her phone out and sent a text to the Succubus. She smiled when she received an immediate response of approval. She was beginning to adore that Succubus. She was far better and nicer than Hades. She could be anywhere in the world, and she was choosing to be close to Bo. In Bo's life, and hers, not to sound arrogant or presumptive that the woman shared her affection.

She kept quiet to let Sam and Bo have the last words before they would start packing for home. Lauren could pack for Bo, but knew Bo would take her time, just to prolong leaving. She is fine with that.

The duo stood in each other's arms while Lauren waited at the cars for Bo. The Succubus would not likely be in the mood for driving, so Lauren was going to use her powers and send Bo's car home ahead of time.

Sam squeezed Bo hard one last time and let the weeping Succubus go. He nodded at Lauren, and she nodded back with a smile. Bo turned and walked slowly to the Doctor.

Lauren stood still watching Bo walk towards her. Her face was soaked in tears. Something the Doctor is sure, Sam didn't see. Bo looked like a little girl crying. Like something precious had been snatched from her. It's the same look she had in her eyes in Lauren's doorway when she asked for a break. Only this Bo wasn't talking. She just stared at Lauren as if she needed to see the Doctor just to stay on her feet. If she stumbled, it would be hard getting her back up again. Even with as powerful as the two of them are. No Fae had ever expressed emotions like Bo was right now. They were incapable of random btears. It is not in their nature. But it is in Bo's because Aife wanted her to live a long life and hid her among humans.

She finally made it to the car, and Lauren's waiting hand helped her into the passenger seat. She kissed the Succubus on the forehead as she buckled her in.

Loneliness had been Bo's nightmares since as far back as she could remember. Scared. Lost. Everything that comes with the word. In one swift motion, Lauren was in the driver's seat. Driving with her left hand and holding Bo's left with her right. She let her cry as long as she wanted and needed to. Bottled water sat between them. Lauren wasn't thirsty but put them there for Bo.

"Thank you." Bo whispered.

"For what? Lauren asked as she sped off. Hoping the speed will distract Bo.

"For coming to check on me. I know we are destined for each other and will have nasty fights. I just needed some time away. To gain some perspective. Sam gave me that. He told me about the nastiest of fights he ever had with Mary Dennis. The last one was the worst, and it hurt him deeply. But he couldn't go back to her. He lost his love and respect and there was no getting those back. I love you Lauren. I will always love you. I never stopped". Bo kissed Lauren's knuckle and slammed her head back against the head rest.

"I love you too Bo. We will be fine. If you need to sleep, sleep. We will be home soon enough". Lauren smiled as she kissed Bo's hand.

Bo nodded and closed her eyes. She inhaled Lauren's scent and allowed it to lull her to sleep. At least with Lauren driving, she wouldn't have a nightmare of her own.

Tamsin and Kenzi.

"How good are you at playing dead? Tamsin asked.

"I'm pretty good why? Kenzi asked as they rounded another corner. Kenzi's jacket had been torn when she cut it on an old stick of wood sticking out the wall. She sighed in relief when it didn't draw blood. She'd already cut her left arm climbing through a window going from one room to another.

"I don't think we can outrun them Kenz. Maybe if they think you are dead, they will run to Aife and leave us alone." Tamsin said. Almost tearfully. Outside of Acacia, Kenzi had been the closest thing to a mother she's had in a long time.

Kenzi nodded and laid down on the floor. She looked at Tamsin once more and closed her eyes. The Valkyrie hid in the nearest closet and readied for the next beast to surface. She didn't have to wait a few seconds before a lion appeared. He roared as he slowly crept over to Kenzi. She grabbed her weapon and charged for him.

He roared again and Tamsin stopped when he drooled on Kenzi's face.

"You're not dead human. But you better think of this moment the next time you fuck with Aife. Now get out of this building and never come here again." He laughed as he shifted back to human form.

"Let's go Kenzi! Tamsin screamed as she pulled the woman away from the man. He stood watch as they scrambled out of there.

"Aife wants this building torn down and the mess cleaned up by morning. Hurry with the tools". He said into this phone.

Every shifter in the building had chased Kenzi and Tamsin from every floor to every room. Aife didn't want them murdered in case Kenzi still meant something to Bo. But that didn't mean she had to allow her to roll over her either. So, when Lauren sent a text, they were told to stand down. But he had chosen to have a little more fun with them. One bite and he could have taken Kenzi's head clean off of her shoulders. She had crapped in her pants from what he could smell.

"Are you starting on it? Aife asked through her phone.

"Yes ma'am. They just left". Cal replied.

"I told Dr. Lewis I would have that lot cleaned up by morning. Do not fail me or I will make you regret it." Aife said seriously.

She was a bit relieved Lauren was coming home. Her lab staff annoyed her in how clean they were being. But Lauren runs an extremely clean lab too. So, it is nice to have people obeying the boss when she wasn't in town.

Lauren and Bo.

The ladies were back in Toronto but not home yet. Bo had fallen asleep on Lauren's shoulder. The Doctor suddenly swerved waking her up.

"What the hell was that? Lauren asked. She groaned knowing they had a flat tire. But that is not what concerned her most. There were lions, tigers, and other creatures in the road. "Stay here Bo."

"Lauren? Bo asked still trying to wake up.

"Stay in the car". Laurens squeezed Bo's hand and climbed out of the car. She looked at the tire and within seconds had repaired the damage with her eyes.

"Lauren wait! Bo lunged for the Doctor's hand and missed. Shaking her head, she climbed out of the car. She turned when she heard a roar behind her.

Lauren was in front of Bo within seconds and had the beast in her grip. "Who are you? She asked.

When it didn't answer she started to twist its neck to the side, but then it spoke. "We were called here by the Succubus."

"That's a lie. You wouldn't have lunged for her daughter, if she did." Lauren bristled.

It swallowed hard and went deathly pale. "That's her daughter?

"He's telling the truth. Aife summoned us. All of us for her amusement". Another shifter came forward. Lauren dropped him and pulled Bo back into her car. They sped away.

"I don't know where she is, but we are going to find her right now". Lauren said coolly.

They pulled up to one of Aife's hideouts and walked up to it. Lauren was nearly running before Bo caught up to hold the door for her.

"Aife! Lauren screamed.

"Whoa. Whoa. Watch your tone with me Dr." Aife surfaced from the other room.

"You mind telling us what the hell we missed? Why did you summon an army of shifters? Especially one that tried to attack Bo! Lauren slowly marched towards the Succubus.

"Tell me his name and he's dead! Aife snapped back.

"Oh, he's dropped dead by now. Now answer my question?! Lauren snapped again.

"Mom what is going on? Were you under attack? Why didn't you call us? Bo asked softly. Getting upset herself, would upset Lauren further.

"Kenzi and Tamsin went to Taft's compound. Probably to try and find Lauren's serum or something to turn that shit for nothing Fae again. I just had a little fun with them in the meantime. They weren't harmed." Aife said seriously.

"Where the hell is Vex? Bo asked.

"Probably scratching his balls in glee from having them out of his hair. But they are alive". Aife said as Lauren finally backed away.

"And Taft's compound? Bo asked.

"Burned to the ground. Not even ant piss will be found there". Aife laughed as she threw a lighter in the air.

"Stay with your mother, I will find them". Lauren squeezed Bo's arm and was gone within seconds.

"How can she do that, and I can't? Bo asked in general.

"You can. You just don't know that you can". Aife smiled.

Bo shook her head and took a seat. She was sure Lauren would come back for her. But at least she could catch up on everything else that they have missed.

Kenzi and Tamsin.

"See this is exactly why we shouldn't have gone". Tamsin said as she dragged Kenzi to an old bed.

"I will be fine. I just need to rest". Kenzi groaned. She really didn't want to be on that bed, but it was softer than the floor.

"You don't look fine. You look like shit." Lauren laughed from the door.

"Damn it". Tamsin froze in place.

"Get out of here Lauren. We weren't bothering you." Kenzi groaned.

"I understand you were looking for my serum. You two dipsticks are an insult to sticks. I destroyed my serum after I helped Dyson. But since you are human and I'm still in my fake Doctor phase. I'm here to help you Kenzi". Lauren laughed as she snapped her fingers and Vex appeared.

"Bloody hell. I was rid of you people". Vex stomped his heel.

"You were supposed to watch them Vex. You claimed them remember. All their shit will come back to you". Lauren said coolly as he twitched in her hand.

"They are hardheaded. I can see why the Succubus took off on Kenzi so many times. She gets demanding and boring." Vex said.

"They are still yours now Vex. You will help Kenzi with this and I will let you go. Do whatever the hell you were doing in this getup". Lauren laughed as she took in his outfit.

"I'm not the Doctor. You are! Vex shook his head.

"You're right. I am. But I will never touch Kenzi again. That's where you come in". Lauren said seriously.

"Okay. Get on with it. I was busy before you disturbed me". Vex lifted his hands and waited for Lauren to move them.

Kenzi screamed in pain with every touch but felt better after Lauren was done. She opened her mouth to speak but the Mesmer and Doctor were gone before she could.

"Come on Kenz, lets get the hell out of here. And I do mean out of here this time". Tamsin said as she helped Kenzi up.

"No. Lauren still has a weak spot. We are going to use that to get Bo back". Kenzi said.

"Are you stupid Kenzi!? They will kill us! Tamsin screamed.

"You owe me Tamsin. Remember? Kenzi said staring at the ex-Valkyrie.

"Okay". Tamsin groaned as they left the building.
