Lauren
The doctor walked into the bar and didn't wait to be asked to be seated. "I don't know what you know about Vex, but something needs to be done about him. What I want to do, I'm hesitant to do".
"Well, good morning to you too, Dr. Lewis". Aife smiled. She heard footsteps behind her and knew it was her two Fae.
"It's noon, morning is over". Lauren rejected a beer. She looked around the bar. They had customers, but they were far, far back in the bar. She didn't care if they heard what she was saying.
"Well, since pleasantries aren't what you are here for. I do know about Vex. He's doing his damndest to get out of being responsible for Kenzi and Tamsin. He's also doing his best to get his father back from you". Aife turned serious as Mason and Lou Ann flanked her.
Lauren looked at the woman and frowned. "I'm sorry for what happened to you. I really am. But I have no intention of bringing him back. Not as long as I have a son too young to protect himself."
"Is there anyone that can get to Vex's father?". Lou Ann asked.
"Not on my watch. He's where he deserves to be." Lauren did accept a glass of water.
"I never saw this coming from you. Not even that time in the Light Fae lab when I walked past you. Not even when I saw you briefly at Taft's. You have balls and moxie. But you also have a mother's intuition. You want to protect your son. But you are forgetting one thing, mother. He's my grandson, too". Aife looked at Lauren and gently pushed Lou Ann to stand down.
"I have always wanted a boy and a girl. As long as Bo is willing, I will always aim for that little girl or more children, should we decide to stay on that road. She's home now resting from our attempts last night". Lauren answered a question that had yet to be asked. But she can go to the Dal with and without Bo. Anywhere she needs to see someone, she will go.
"I will deal with Vex. You have my word on that. But if you want to deal with him yourself, you have my blessing. But you are dark, Doctor. It's not good or healthy for Ethan right now. Let me handle the bullshit. You can just be a mate and a mother". Aife spoke softly and took a long drink of whiskey.
"I can do all of it. I have been trained to be for years. I was starting to turn dark just before I met Bo. I was starting to turn dark because of the Fae bullshit and disrespect. Now that I am Fae myself, I can do more. Vex is afraid. He is also dangerously dense. I could pull him to me, just like that." The blonde snapped her fingers. But I do not want that bastard in my presence. I went for a run yesterday and he disturbed me then. Do what you want, but make it quick and soon". Lauren stood and walked out.
"Damn. I love that girl!". Aife slapped the counter and laughed.
"What do you want us to do?". Mason asked.
"Fine those little bitches. We need to give them a lasting lesson. It needs to stick to their asses so much that even Dr. Lewis wouldn't be able to remove it". Aife waved them out.
"I can handle this, alone, Lou Ann. If you don't want to go". Mason turned to the woman.
"No. They set me up and killed my children. The doctor is right. They must be dealt with". Lou Ann punched her own hand.
"Good. Let's go". Mason smiled and gestured for her to walk out first. "We will get him. He won't use that shit on another human in his life".
"I know. I know. The Fae can be assholes. I get where Lauren is coming from. If I get ahold of Vex's father, I'd boil his balls". Lou Ann spat angrily.
"Lauren and Bo exploded onto the scene. They would have suffered the same fate, had Bo not been who she is. Hades fucked with them and lost his life. There is no doubt any Fae threatening them wouldn't suffer the same fate. Like Aife said, we need to stick this up his ass and leave it there." Mason sped away. It shouldn't be too hard to find the three of them. Just look and listen for loud arguing.
Lauren and Bo
Lauren smiled as she climbed into their bed holding Ethan. She held him with one arm while Bo turned into the other arm. "Hi". Bo whispered.
"Hi yourself". Lauren kissed the woman's forehead.
Bo settled into the woman's arm and closed her eyes. She opened them when Ethan smacked her in the nose. "Okay. Okay. Mama's up". She smiled and rolled onto her back.
"I'm sorry, Bo. I should have left him in his crib". Lauren whispered.
"No. He's fine where he is. You can bring him in here anytime you want". Bo winked at the blonde and made faces at Ethan. He smiled and kicked in her hands. "Are you hungry sweetie?".
"Got it right here". Lauren turned and pulled a bottle off of the night stand.
"I am not going to lie, Lauren. That stuff stinks". Bo laughed as she sat up straight in the bed.
"I played around with it. It should smell better." Lauren smiled.
"Lauren." Bo tensed as she took the bottle.
"I wouldn't give him anything dangerous, you know that". Lauren popped her lips at him.
Bo gently placed the nipple into his mouth and waited. He smiled as he sucked on it. "You're a hit, doctor". Bo smiled.
"Of course I am, right baby?". Lauren gently rubbed his stomach. The mothers watched him empty the bottle and climbed out of bed to have breakfast themselves.
"Lay here my boy. Mama Bo is starving". Bo smiled as she placed him in a playpen.
"You didn't burp him, Bo". Lauren laughed from the kitchen.
"Damn it. Why do I fall for that every time?". Bo laughed as she walked back to the crib. Back and forth she walked until he burped and she cleaned his face up. "There".
"This is the cutest thing". Lauren laughed.
"What?". Bo asked.
"You being a mother". Lauren stirred their eggs and flipped the bacon.
"I'm sure it is amusing". Bo smiled as she circled around again.
"Well, the food is ready". Lauren walked to the table and set a plate down and returned for their juice and a second plate.
"Where'd you go?". Bo asked.
"I went to see Aife. I wanted to put the word out about Vex. I offered to deal with him myself but she said I'm too nice and to let her handle it". Lauren shrugged.
"She's right, Lauren. You are a doctor, my love. You aren't a natural born killer. You're a natural born healer." Bo smiled across the table.
"I can be dark. I need to be dark when it comes to him and our other kids". Lauren pointed towards Ethan.
"I'm his mother too, Lauren. We can protect him, together. You don't need to be his sole protector. You also need to try and get a full night's sleep". Bo frowned.
"Well, I was busy last night". Lauren sat back in her seat.
"Agreed". Bo blushed. "But I'm serious. Tonight, you will sleep. Then I can take over the baby watch duties".
"Okay. Let's finish our food and we can go out". Lauren gently held her hand up and dug into her food again. Bo is right. She hasn't been sleeping much. But that has been going on long before she started Med school. The women finished their food and cleaned up. Lauren picked Ethan up and out of the playpen and placed him in a carrier and then into his car seat when they reached it.
"Where are we going?". Bo asked.
"We're just driving. If you want to stop somewhere, we will. I'd thought of a museum tour but that might bore you". Lauren turned down the first street.
"I would never be bored going anywhere with you. You want him to know about art? We can tour a museum." Bo tapped the woman's leg. So, they went. They just made it to a museum before the next tour had started. Lauren carried Ethan while Bo walked with them, step for step. She found it adorable how Lauren wanted to tell him something but the tour guide beat her to it, every time.
After two hours they sat in the museum restaurant and had lunch. Again, Ethan was given Lauren's baby formula. After they ate, they freshened up and walked out.
"You know even though we are not hurting for money, you could make your own baby formula and sell it". Bo suggested.
"Thanks but no thanks. That's a lot of headaches more than it is making the formula". Lauren smiled and waved the idea off.
"You're right. That would probably take us on the road a lot. We want him to have a normal childhood and not one sleeping in hotels". Bo held the door for the woman to climb in after Ethan had been strapped in.
"Now, where to?". Bo asked.
"Do you want to go see your mom?". Lauren asked.
"No. She can come and see us when she's ready to. Besides after what you told me, she's busy and I don't want that aura around him". Bo shook her head.

Mason and Lou Ann stood back as Aife walked into the building.
"I will make this short and sweet since you three fucks are slow learners. Lauren is sick of the bullshit and frankly, so am I. You will leave them the fuck alone or I will take drastic measures, right now". Aife walked back and forth in front of them.
"Why do we have to worry about Lauren? We're not her friends?". Tamsin asked.
Aife stopped in front of her. "Yep. Dumbfucks. Lauren is an extension of Ethan which is an extension of Isabeau which is the last extension before I put my foot in your asses."
"You saddled me with these two and are now insulted and pissed off that I no longer want the babysitting duties?". Vex stepped forward.
"You fucked around with a mad scientist, literally, and she dealt with you. Your dad was a sicker bastard than the blood king himself. The only difference is daddy's baby didn't die. She has the right to be pissed off and banish him to parts unknown. Which leads me to why we're here. Mason". Aife walked up the stairs and her two followed her up.
"We're just his humans, we didn't go after Lauren, yesterday". Kenzi mouthed off.
"True. But you will learn right now. Now, shall I release my beasts or will you obey?". Aife looked down at the trio.
"I'll give you the humans in exchange for my father. Otherwise, no deal". Vex huffed.
"Release them!". Aif screamed.
The trio screamed when doors opened and wolves and every animal they could think of ran towards them.
"Vex! Vex! Tell them you'll do what they want!". Tamsin screamed.
"Chicken shits. Alright. Alright. I will leave the doctor alone. Although I reserve the right to find my father by other means". Vex shook his head and waved his hands in surrender. Mason growled and the beasts stopped and retreated.
"The day you so much as get near my grandson will be the day they will find you. We will keep your scents and unleash these beasts again." Aife turned and walked off.
"That was close". Kenzi sighed. She was sure she wet herself when a lion was headed straight for her.
"They are Fae in case you think you can turn one of them or all of them". Mason laughed as the trio jumped like the beasts were still on the hunt.
The trio never turned their backs as they were left alone. Vex could still smell those animals. He looked at his heels and knew he couldn't run if he wanted to.
"I think they are all gone". Tamsin looked up, down and around.
"That woman gets to do whatever she wants with my father and I'm not allowed to do anything about it. Such bullshit". Vex huffed as he walked out with Kenzi and Tamsin holding onto him like children with their own father.
Another location
"Should we need to call you, you better be reachable. Because if I call you, you won't like it". Aife spoke above a pit of the beasts she had racing towards the trio she just left.
"She means it, guys and gals. Stay in touch. Don't change your numbers. Don't leave the colony. You are our army. You will be compensated for your time." Mason spoke and waved at Aife as she left them to their meeting.
Bo and Lauren's
"Well, that was a great afternoon. A lot of fresh air!". Bo cooed as she bounced Ethan in her arms.
"It was!". Lauren smiled as they settled down on the couch.
"Mama's baby". Bo smiled as she tickled him.
"Let's find something to watch on tv!". Lauren smiled as she flipped through the channels.
"Nothing science related. You my love are going to bed early tonight". Bo leaned in and kissed the blonde's cheek.
"Okay. Okay". Lauren smiled as she flipped away from a science show.
"I just worry about you, babe. I'm not trying to tell you what to do". Bo spoke softly.
"I know and you're right. I need to try and sleep but I worry about so much, Bo. I worry about him. I worry about the Fae. I worry about us". Lauren settled on a sitcom.
"Wait. What about us?". Bo set Ethan down.
"Well, we were still putting us back together when you became pregnant with him. I'm just worried there is something that we haven't addressed yet." Lauren explained.
"I have an idea. Whatever you believe we haven't addressed, write it down. But just know that I love you, Lauren. I really do. Whatever happened back then, happened back then. But if you want to address it, we'll address it or them. Whatever it is. We are mothers. We are mates. There is nothing out there that will ever take me away from you or this". Bo pointed at Ethan. Lauren knew she meant nothing would take her away from the family life that they have now.
"I worry. It's what a doctor does. When I apply it to my personal life, it really gets the brain going". Lauren sat back on the couch.
"Hold on". Bo gently set Ethan down and turned to the blonde. "I never want to change who you are. You were a doctor long before I came into your life. But we are fine babe. Worry if you must but know we are solid. We are Bo and Lauren. Nothing is going to go wrong between us. We are ready to make him a little sister or brother. Nobody does that unless they are happy with the mother or father of their children. You are it for me. You don't have to break bones or shed blood to impress me. You already impressed me a long time ago. I'm here because I want to be. Whatever you think of, tell me and we'll talk about it". She squeezed the woman's hands and kissed her.
"I think I should go to bed". Lauren looked at the clock. It wasn't even seven yet but she knows if she is going to get some sleep, she needs to try as early as possible.
"I will go too". Bo picked Ethan up and they walked him to his nursery. They kissed him goodnight and walked to their bedroom. Once they showered, they climbed into bed. Bo reached over to the nightstand and pulled a book out. She pulled Lauren to her and started reading it.
"A lullaby?". Lauren laughed.
"Hey, if it works, it works". Bo kissed the top of the woman's head and started reading again.
Lauren settled on Bo's chest and listened to the soothing succubus voice. She closed her eyes and listened to the succubus heart. The slow rhythm sounded so peaceful. Their first night, it was racing. Probably because it was their first night. Ripping off clothes and leaving half of them on the stairs leading to Bo's room. She knew Bo had gone to pick them up because she had changed clothes by the time Lauren woke up. Go back to sleep sounded just like her voice now. A warm, caring voice. She was trying to get the woman to rest now just like she was then. Her necklace was on the floor but the Ash still hung around her neck as she desperately tried to keep Bo home. Now the succubus is trying to keep the blonde home and away from the dark that calls out to her in her dreams. As a scientist, she could easily prescribe her own sedative. But as a lover, she's resting on her sedative.
"Good night, Bo". Lauren smiled.
"Good night, Lauren". Bo winked as she continued to read. The doctor had long fallen asleep but Bo let her rest where she was. She will eventually wake up and then Bo can rock her back to sleep.
