Chapter 6: The Grimm Knight returns.
Jaune and Cinder finally emerged out of the Valley, returning to the Bullhead. With a smile across their faces, especially Cinder, who's carrying a pup Grimm in her arms.
"so, thought of a name for him?" Jaune smiles while watching the pup licking across her face.
"I think I'll call him ...Ember." She smiles as "Ember" yip of approval.
"He likes it. Train him well. He'll be a great asset." Jaune smiles as he opens the Bullhead's hanger side door but stops as they hear screams in the distance.
Both Cinder and Jaune turn and see smoke out of the distance. It was coming from the village they flew past before arriving at the Valley.
"Grimm?" Cinder ask
"No, definitely not," Jaune replies with a scowl.
"So it's bandits then." She states as she boards the Bullhead like it's not her concern.
"But it's not our problem then. We should leave; it's bound to attract Grimm in the surrounding areas, best to we not get involved." As she places young Ember onto the co-pilot seat while she's prepping the Bullhead for taking off. While she focuses flipping a few switches and pressing a few buttons, activating different functions of the Bullhead before taking off. Starting to feel the vibration of the Bullhead's engines rumbling, slowly pushes the lever forwards, hearing the engines roaring louder and louder, almost at its peak to take off. But then notice her puppy suddenly Ember jumping off, and turns to see Ember jumping out of the Bullhead and followed Jaune by his side heading towards the village. Knowing what's Jaune planning to do, she groans in frustration after setting up the Bullhead to leave to only turn off the engines with a flip of a switch and a pull of a lever killing the Bullhead in an instant and forced to leave the seat while groaning of a waste of time.
"Right, of course..." she groans in annoyance and leaves the Bullhead to follow Jaune, as just she made it with Jaune, frustrated she quickly picks up Ember in her arms while cuddling him to vent her frustration away, then turns to Jaune with a deadpan look.
"Do you at least have a plan?" she asked, walking by his side, nuzzling her face onto Ember playfully, trying to calm herself down to avoid losing her patients with Jaune.
"of course, originally, it was supposed to be the stage of my return. To tell Remanent that a legend has returned once again, therefore, the Grimm Knight's arrival and better than expected. It's like we're in fates favour," He replies, smiling, putting his helmet on with his eyes glowing in red.
"and what makes you say that?" she stops in her track, tilts her head and crooks a brow to him but only for Jaune to look over his shoulder towards Cinder.
"It's better to see for yourself. Also, I need you to do me a favour if I want my plans to work." As Jaune hands his scroll towards Cinder. She reaches out to the scroll and stares with uncertainty towards him.
'Why..'.
'Why is this happening to us?'
'What did we do to deserve this?'
'Gods, why!?'
My voice rasp with exhaustion, running for my life with my little sister in tow with a firm grip on her hand. While being chased by bandits, both with smiles of sadistic pleasure to kill with no remorse.
'So why...?'
We're just a small village, making a new life away from the Kingdoms from the humans and White Fang. Life as a wolf Fauna was hard enough to live in the city, and the White Fang made it worse for the Fauna.
It became a life of constant hate; it drove the family away from hate for my parents and my sister. Yet no matter where we go, hate still follows till we finally make it to this village, a haven for both humans and Fauna to live in peace.
It was a regular morning like every other day on the farm. My father tends to the field, with my mother helping while I stay in the house with my sister preparing lunch while she plays. Then the next thing we hear is gunfire and screams within the town. At first, I thought it was the Grimm from the forbidden Valley. We knew the risk of settling near the forbidden Valley, but the Grimm never attacked or approached the village unless someone provoked them. But as I looked outside with my sister close, it wasn't the Grimm; it was bandits raiding our town. Killing everyone in their path, looting homes and burning villages creating panic. I held close to my sister and quickly rushed back to the house but only encountered a bandit outside our home.
"Ooh, look what we got here. These Faunaus will fetch a reasonable price." A ragged man arm with sword smirks.
"Hey, the boss said no prisoners remember." Another state as he stares towards the man armed with a pistol.
"heh, too bad. Sorry, cutie. But orders are orders." The ragged man smiled, pointing his sword at me while keeping my sister beside me while we slowly backed away.
"RUN!" that was my father's voice as he pushed them away and turned to me with a frightened expression.
"Run, Muri! Take Sui! Get out of he-!" he shouts and ends with the Bandit driving his sword Down on his back, falling to the ground. But still alive and turn to me while I'm still frozen in fear.
"Muri...run...run!" he shouts with all his strength, followed by a gunshot to his head, killing him and our signal to run to the forest as the two bandits chase after us.
'I look over my shoulder, and the Bandit is still chasing us, but we have the advantage; we're faster. Sooner or later, they tire themselves and give-'
A gun was heard, and somehow my shoulder was in great pain and heavy. I fell to the ground trying not to scream, seeing a pool of red flowing into view as I followed to see a hole through my shoulder. I struggled to get up, my sister came over to help, but the bandits made it. The man approaches his sword over his head, about to strike my sister. Without haste, I quickly pull myself up, grabbing my sister and pulling her towards me, hugging my sister tightly, shielding her from the attack, as the sword strike me across my back. Gritting my teeth, trying not to scream in pain for my sister.
"Muri..." She cries in the horror of seeing her Older sister shielding her from the Bandit's sword
"Don't look!" I shout while breathing heavily from the pain.
"Hehe. How sweet. Protecting your sister till the very end. But pointless," the Bandit smirks, raising his sword pointing it down towards my sister and me, once again. The only thing in my mind is seeing dad trying to protect us till his last.
"Run, Muri! Take Sui! Get out of here."
"I'm sorry, dad. I wasn't strong enough...please, anybody save us." I pray while gripping my sister even tighter, waiting for my death with tears flowing of regret.
Then a sound of metal clashes forced my eyes open only to see a black cape surrounding Sui and me.
"what the!? Where did he come from!?" the ragged Bandit shouts as I turn to see a Knight in black armour with red markings just like a Grimm. Holding his shield, snapping the Bandit's rusty sword into two, then he raises his other hand into a fist and plunges it through his chest and out of his back. Pulling his arm back with something grasp on his hand and only to see the Bandit's heart literally in his hand while it's still beating. My sister and I will admit it was amazing, along with the Bandit in front of him in horror. As his vision darkens and his body heavy with the only thing to see his heart on the Knight's hand. And only to see the Knight crush his heart, splattering into the blood as it flows to the dirt.
As he dies with a hole in his chest while shocking the other. "What the hell?"
"Hmph, pathetic. That Bandit didn't even have his aura to protect him." He watches the body fall limp then approaches the other Bandit, standing tall and intimidating, glaring down on him.
"What kind of man who murders women and children and does not have the nerve to face me." The Knight stated as he began seeping what looked like black smoke out of his armour, frightening the Bandit.
"No matter, you will test my powers whether you want to or not." He threatened as the Bandit quickly pulled out his pistol and began shooting for only his bullets to bounce off the Knight. Till only his gun to clicks empty and fast reload.
"Are you done? Good, my turn." he drew his sword out of his sheath, but the sword isn't like any other sword. Compared to the Bandit's broken sword, the Knight's blade is black shows of red cracks as if the black sword was shattered from the centre and formed together, leaving red gaps.
The ground shatters beneath his feet, launching himself to the Bandit. Swinging his sword to the Bandit, while the Bandit dodges out of the way and shoots. But for the bullets to be deflected off the shield. Realizing the Knight is far skilled than he is, he notices us and thinks of an idea to get an opening from the Knight he needs.
Just as the Bandit jump away, he immediately aims his gun towards us with a smile of accomplishment. The Knight noticed but won't let it happen as he chases after the Bandit. Swinging his sword with all his might, he sliced the Bandit's hand clean off from his wrist while the hand was still holding on to the gun. The Bandit clutches his wrist while wailing in pain and panic; while blood sprays all over the ground, he falls to his knees.
"Aaaaahhhh! how!? My aura was up!?" he panics
But the Knight didn't respond but pointed his blade directly towards his throat, silencing the Bandit with dread.
"You have no right to ask when you involve the lives of innocents into our right. You are no man. You are scum. No, you're worse than scum." As the dread overwhelm the Bandit and even me and my sister. We were too afraid to make a sound.
"and as such, you should be treated as one. Therefore your death will be slow." As he snaps his fingers, summoning what looks like Grimm I have never seen before, they look like Wolves than Grimm. Could they be the Grimm of the forbidden Valley? They surround us forest, snarling and staring towards the Bandit, completely ignoring us as if we didn't exist.
"Take him to the Forbidden Valley. He'll make a good training dummy for the pups." He orders as the Grimm complies, biting the Bandit and dragging him towards the Valley. He screams and begs with the panic of wild thrashing to escape the Grimm's maws. Till they disappeared into the Valley. Leaving the Knight, sheathing his sword, alone in the field with my sister and me.
"Let's see if my semblance didn't get rusty on me. Fenrir!" he calls out as his shadow on the ground grew large enough as a giant white wolf jumped out then howled to the air. I have to admit, it's beautiful, yet it's a Grimm. Can this Knight's semblance summon Grimm?
"Fenrir, kill the bandits." He orders as the giant wolf howls again and rushes towards the village, leaving the Knight behind with us. He turns towards us and slowly approaches.
"you're bleeding; let me help you. Hold still." As he kneeled and outstretched his arms to my back while I embraced my sister. Then felt a cold soothing sensation on my back till it stopped as he stood up. I look over my shoulder to see a complete surprise. The pain is gone, my back is healed, and my shirt is fixed with the blood.
"I assume the pain is gone now?" he asks, concern.
"It is, thank you."
"I know this is impropriated to ask, but I have some questions. First, can you tell me what's happening here?"
"bandits attacked our village!" I state with hate and fear.
"I see. Were these attacks frequent?"
"No, this is the first. We were never attacked, not even the Grimm from the forbidden Valley. Thanks to the Valley, the elder Chief said no Grimm packs would approach. Making it a natural defence." I explained.
"do you have any huntsman to protect your village?" he asked, but I shook my head with a no.
"they were too expensive to hire."
"I see...thank you. I'll take care of the bandits. But first." As he whistles in his helmet, then suddenly rustles of shrubs sound surrounding us till more of the wolves from earlier appeared. Like the white ones, these are smaller, like large dogs and like Grimm, they have black fur with white skulls on their heads.
"Gr-Grimm!" my sister frighted while hugging me tightly.
"Don't fret; these Grimm will not harm you. They'll protect you till it's safe." And like that, one of the Grimm approaches us, while we fear the outcome, only the Grimm to yawn lay right next to us calmly. While the others stand guard surrounding us in a circle and realize what the Knight said is true, they intend to protect us.
"Now, if you excuse me." As the knight Leaves.
"W-wait!?" I shout out to him as he stops as I bow my head to him while my sister follows.
"thank you for saving us. We are forever grateful."
"thank you so much, mister!"
"it's no problem..." He replies and continues to leave.
"But wait! Could you at least tell us your name?"
"My name..." He pauses for a moment as the winds slowly pick up.
"I've been called many names in the past. Some are remembered as legends, while others are forgotten. But there is one name that all remembers..." he turns outstretching his cape, letting the winds carry it.
"you may know me as...the Grimm Knight!" as he roars at the top of his lungs like a Grimm as the Grimm surrounding us howls, followed by more howls in the distance. Like every Grimm of Remnant are answering his call. Shocking both my sister and me to the core. The Grimm Knight! The first Legendary Huntsman of Remnant!? He was supposed to be a myth, a legend, yet here he is, a real hero in front of us. A tiny bit of me is in denial that he's the Grimm Knight, but compared to the stories that mum and dad told us. He wore black armour with red markings like a Grimm and the ability to talk to the Grimm. Of what he just did in front of us, there's no denying it; it's the Grimm Knight.
'The first Huntsman of Remnant.'
It took ten minutes of terror, bloodshed, and death for the Branwen Tribe to finish their task. Compared to Springvale from previous raids, Raven needed to change tactics. She couldn't just stage an assault, create enough chaos to develop and gather enough negativity, and lure Grimm from nearby areas. This village was defended by the Forbidden Valley, but that's only against other Grimm, not bandits, making this too easy. With a bonus, Springvale lacked in defence, no walls or watchtowers to protect them from incoming. Not even license Huntsman and Huntresses station in the village, it's so defenceless that they only have a communication tower to only contact the nearby Kingdoms The only form of defence they have is the villagers themselves.
From what the tribe can tell, some of the villagers tried to fight back against the tribe of whatever they could get their hands on of trying to defend themselves. Wheater it's farming tools like pitchforks and shovels or from their kitchens like knives or large cleavers. But all who attempted to protect themselves were either beaten half to death just for fun for the Bandit's entertainment or died humiliating, making their last moment known they failed to defend themselves or loved ones.
The only ones that bandits took seriously were the villagers, armed with modern weapons but lacking experience and training. After killing them, the Bandit took the weapons as their trophy and used them against villagers. The assault was done in a pincer attack, one group attacking from behind and the other at the front. This way, it would create friction, panic, attention, and defences would be divided while building up negativity to attract Grimm. However, she's not putting her hopes up of the Grimm in the Forbidden Vally, as she knows they're solidarity Grimm, only attack if their disturbed, they wouldn't even leave their territory to investigate the build-up negativity. Sometimes, she even questions herself if there are any Grimm in the Vally, to begin with?
She allowed her Tribe free reign of the assault and let some of her more capable men lead the assault, except her second in command. Her second in command, Vernal, chose to stay behind because she felt attacking Springvale was a waste of time. As to her, it isn't enough of a challenge to even try, and it's beneath her to attack a weak farming village that only farms wheat and crop.
The surviving villagers are rounded up and bound in rope, gathered in the centre of the village. This is too easy for the bandits. Gather all the villagers in one spot and create enough panic to attract the Grimm. After that, wipe out the stragglers and then free reign to loot the village however they pleased.
However, they did not realize that this would be their last successful operation.
"Aaawwwwoooollll!"
It was a deathly howl. A howl the bandits don't recognize, not a wolf cause it's too loud to be one and too big. A Grimm? But they never heard a Grimm sounding like that before. Then the villagers begin to panic with fear.
"It's them!"
"The Grimm on the forbidden Valley!"
"Gods help us!"
The villagers panic, making the bandits follow as a sign of Grimm approaching and their queue to leave, but too late. Before the Humans, a large white wolf almost the size of Bullhead in plated bone armour of a Grimm with blue marking surrounding its body. The sudden appearance and demented figure shocked all present, especially the bandits and the villagers. As they know, this Grimm is of the Forbidden Valley, for its unique appearance, they haven't seen this type of Grimm before and are incredibly alive.
The creature before them shared some of the traits associated with the animals they had experience in dealing with. At first, their bandits thought it was a new type of Beowolf, except it's a rare albino type, as all Grimm were jet black and wore white ivory masks. But this monstrosity before them is a type of Grimm they have never seen before. It looks more like a wolf in bone armour than a Grimm.
It suddenly appeared without warning staring at the Bandits of dread, demanding their blood; it almost felt like it had just appeared out of nowhere. The bandits flinch, raising their weapons, unsure whether to fight or flight.
They calm themselves, knowing that too much negativity would draw far more Grimm, too much Grimm to deal with.
"Good Afternoon, ladies and gentlemen." a voice called out to them from the Grimm, under the impression that the Grimm just talked till a figure appeared out behind the Grimm.
To their immense surprise, a figure's form was obscured by an ornate black armour with red accents and fur cape that must have been worth millions. Yet the longer they stare at the Knight, the more it reminds them of a Grimm as he presents himself in front of the Grimm.
"I am the Grimm Knight. It's a pleasure to meet all of you," The Knight raised his arms and greeted the Bandits. They were speechless, unsure what to say or do, as they were more on the edge of the Grimm than the Knight as the Knight noticed.
"Don't fear about worry about my Grimm. However…" then he followed it up with a question. One that would determine their lives. An Ultimatum.
"What is your choice? Life or death?"
Jaune spoke his word with the intent of instilling fear and dread into their very souls while he counted on their numbers and examined their weapons. Like the Bandits he dealt in the forest, their attire was well-worn from years of use out on the field. The weapons mainly consisted of firearms, swords, spears and even twin daggers. The guns took him slightly by surprise, given that what he saw didn't exactly paint a close modern picture in the text he readied. He also put the account of the villager's as well, and judging from their expressions, it is concerning, and he may need to rethink his strategy.
Like the two childer he saved earlier, he couldn't tell which scared them the most. He placed his bets on Fenrir this time around since she did come from the Forbidden Valley. Though his black armour didn't help ease their worries either, since he will admit that it looks like he was a Grimm, that was irrelevant for now. Though how will he find a way to get information from them? Capture one of them and torture the information out of him, but that would be a gamble. Since these Bandits aren't dressed to impress their authority to lead, they all look like they never change their clothes or lack clothes to wear.
A lone bandit, who was quivering in her boots and gripping her daggers in a shaky grip, spoke up nervously. "W-what do you mean? We don't understand what you meant! Explain yourself!" she shouts in panic.
Jaune raised a hand to stop a furious Fenrir from killing her for her arrogance.
"I don't like to repeat myself, so I'll repeat this. As of this moment, you all have a choice: offer your miserable lives without resistance, and I'll spare half of you for you to return to your master. Resist, however, and only one of you will live to speak of what has transpired here." From beneath his helmet, his gaze hardened, and his flames of aura grew more intense as his black aura expanded. "What is your choice? Life or death."
There was no answer at; first, fear consumed them whole. The Bandits are staring at the face of absolute death, with their scythe ready to reap their lives. This was a completely different experience for them compared to their previous raids. As far as they remember, when Raven returned to the tribe and assumed her position as Chief, they all had it easy. The last Chief was no slouch, but tension rose between them that turned to civil war. Until Raven took the final blow and became the new Chief of the Brenwan Tribe, the Branwen reached new heights under her banner. Successful raids with minimum casualties more loots and supplies than they ever had before. The former dissenters either quelled their complaints or mercilessly killed when dared to rebel against Raven. Under her rule was very clear to all.
"Will you raise by my side or fall by my blade?" Those words solidified their allegiance; not a single person dared to reject her since the only person they feared the most was the woman who led them. But now they came face to face, another person possessed a dangerous force, like the reaper. None of them wanted to move out of fear that it would be seen as an act of aggression. Not that it would have mattered. This man had told them to their faces that many of them were going to die. Either half of them lived, or only one of them survived.
Of course, they didn't realize that Jaune knew full well that there would be dissension. After stating that he'd allow half to live, the bandits would undoubtedly fight among themselves. They were a selfish bunch. If they did possess any loyalty, the threat he dangled in front of their faces would destroy it. And much to his joy, one of the bandits spoke for his comrades. "Go to hell!"
He raised his gun and pulled the trigger before anyone could stop them. The bullet was fired from its chamber and shot straight for him. Just as he was about to dodge and send it back, Fenrir was faster than he was. She was in front of him in moments, swinging her armour-plated paw and sending the bullet back to its owner. The force behind her blow was not to be trifled with, either. With a swing and precise control of power, the bullet bounced back even faster and possessed more energy than if it were fired from a sniper rifle. When it struck the Bandit, it blew his head clean off, nothing to remain but the shoulders it carries. Blood and flesh splattered into the air before he fell unceremoniously to the floor, dead in just three seconds.
The villagers who witnessed this act shuddered and recoiled while the rest stared in horror. They couldn't comprehend what had just happened.
"Thank you, Fenrir." He pats the wolf before he addresses his wolf, who's waiting to jump into action.
"It seems you have your response," Jaune calls out to the bandits as some of the Bandits are still startled by what just happened to their fallen comrade, who's now a headless corpse.
"Kill the bandits, but leave one alive. I require a messenger." He orders as the wolf howls to the sky then more of its packs appear from the shadows and out to view. Surprising the Bandit of the sheer numbers and how they got to the village surrounded without anyone noticing.
"What the!? Grimm!?"
"When did they get here?"
"Who cares!? Kill them! Kill em all!" one panics as they all open fire towards Fenrir and the other pack members. The pack scattered, attacking the bandits while Fenrir stood there and taking the bullets. While the rest of the pack began killing, more bandits died than Grimm, causing panic and disarray. The Direwolves are faster and more intelligent than the bandits previously face. Making it harder to fight these Grimm, let alone predict them.
Back at Fenrir, no matter how much they fired, it couldn't go through what they discovered; this Grimm possess...aura. Shocking the Bandits to the core of seeing a blue barrier reflecting the bullets until the fire ceased and only hearing clicks of empty guns.
Now it's Fenrir's turn, without giving the bandits a chance. She pounces towards the Bandit on the rooftop of the building, slashing her claws across his chest, killing the Bandit instantly. Then clamped her maw on the body and threw the corpse to the pack, as some members of the pack began dragging the bodies back to the Forbidden Valley. And immediately move to another target with great speed and intense fear into the Bandits. Meanwhile, Jaune slowly approaches the bandits guarding the hostages. One of the bandits took the initiative and grabbed hold of a dark figure with dark hair and a wolf ear sticking out of its head, and he assumed it was a Faunus. Immediately placed the blade Against what he thought was the throat as he didn't bother checking. Jaune stops in the spot, giving the Bandit a grin of confidence while the other grins along with him while watching the other Grimm.
"call off your dogs! Or this Fauna gets it!" he shouts in a demanding tone with a smirk of confidence, eyeing on Jaune as he notices the armour rattling. The Bandit got him; he's scared of the civilians getting hurt, a sign of weakness. Proving to themselves that only the strong survive, the Bandit's philosophy they follow and Proving themselves their strong. But only of their ideals shatter when they hear the Knight laughing hysterical like it's a joke.
"hahaha!"
"What's so funny?! is this a joke to you?!" the Bandit shouts, inching his blade closer to his hostage's neck threatening, but the Knight still laughs.
"Yeah, because I think you need to double-check on your hostage." As instructed, the Bandit looked down carefully and immediately noticed it wasn't a Faunus that got it; it was one of the Grimm but smaller without the bone plates on its back except its mask.
"that's a juvenile Direwolf your holding, and they are very aggressive compare to their parents," Jaune smirks beneath his helmet. He looks and sees his right in his hand is a Grimm, snarling towards him in hate. Shocking what he is holding, he lets go in fright, releasing the Grimm, quickly dashes next to Jaune. The bandits rapidly turn to the hostages but only feel fear and dread in their eyes. The hostages were gone, rope lay torn, and all replaced with juvenile Grimm.
"h-how?"
"where did all the villagers go!?"
"They were here a minute ago?"
"Just what are these Grimm?"
"you were all distracted on your comrades. It was easy for the juveniles to free and escort the villagers to safety. But enough talk...know the despair of your actions." Jaune announces and sees that the juveniles are eager to join the pack. Jaune snaps his finger commanding the youngster to finally attack their heart's content. While Jaune watches and hears the screams of panic of the Bandit's demise, he'll admit he never wanted this to happen. He hoped that the bandits think intelligent and simply surrender, yet Pride would always be their downfall no matter which era or place.
Omake:
Emerald walks out to a balcony overlooking a beautiful rose garden in lite of the crumbling moon. Wearing a light emerald dress with elbow-length fingerless gloves. She leans against the rails; she sighs in disappointment and is heartbroken, being dined. Expressing her dismay after she found out her love is the son of the Queen of Grimm. Ignoring her fears of the Queen's wrath and Cinder's hate of her being near the Prince.
"O Jaune, O Jaune! Wherefore art thou Jaune? Deny thy Cinder and refuse thy name; Or if thou wilt not, be sworn my love, And I'll no longer belong." She pauses and watches the moonlight unbeknownst to her; a Prince with messy blond hair, blue eyes, wearing only his black shirt and jeans peeking through the door. Surprise to see Emerald calling out his name, yearning for him, in a beautiful dress while bathed in the moonlight. Jaune blushed in such a sight; he had forgotten why he came like seeing an actual princess of such beauty.
"This but thy name that is my lord I serve. You'd be yourself if you were not my Prince? What's in a Prince? What we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. So Jaune would. Jaune, cast off thy title, and for that title, which is no part of you, take all of me." She hugs herself with a smile that Jaune has never seen, with his heart is filled with wanting to hold her in his arms. He opens the door and enters her room. He notices rustles in the bushes of roses, and what emerges surprise him. It was him but in his armour; due to the surprise, he lost his footing to fall to the floor and quickly hid behind a large stone vase.
The scene changes from outside the balcony to inside a bedroom like a fog has been lifted. Which Jaune finally realizes was all an illusion by Emerald semblance. But wait, this confused Jaune; Watts told him that Emerald's semblance is hallucination. Only targeting an opponent to see, this illusion is meant for him since he can only see it.
"So why is she using it on me?" he thought, concern while peaking over the was stone vase to Emerald's bed.
Emerald turns and slowly fades away like drifting smoke to reveal the real Emerald sitting in her study looking over her shoulder with her scroll placed closely on her chest to avoid to been seen. To see only nothing with a sigh of relief and shrug her shoulders, she returns, typing her scroll, disappearing, letting the illusion take over the area and reform back to where it last left off, while Jaune slowly peeks out of the vase and watch the whole story unfold.
Emerge from the bushes was a man in black armour calling out to the Emerald Princess.
"I take you at your word." He calls out to her, which surprise the Princess with a gasp of shock and surprise.
"call me your love, and I'll be new baptized henceforth. I never will be the Prince of Grimm." The Prince states.
"What name are you? That hides within the shadows of the night and garb in armour to spy on me."
She asks, a bit frightened, facing a man she knows, wanting to hear more of his voice and commitment for her.
"I know not how to tell you who I am. My name, dear Maiden, is hateful because it is the title you serve." He removed his helmet, revealing his face and gently swung his head, letting his shoulder-length hair be carried by the gentle winds. While Jaune cringed at sight to see himself with shoulder-length hair and finally realize.
"This is Emerald's fantasy of…me…." Jaune Blush and look away for a bit to calm down before he returns, spying on this play of Emerald.
"I have not heard you speak a hundred words, yet I do know the sound of that sweet voice. Are you not Jaune Prince Grimm?" she smiles with relief to see her beloved's face, with the sweet smile she loves.
"Neither, dear love if either you dislike." He drops his helmet runs towards her, and climbs up to the balcony while slowly taking a few steps back as he climbs over the balcony and slowly approach his Princess.
"Why have you come? This place will be my tomb if either your Mother or Cinder finds you here."
"with love's light of my wings, I o'er perch these walls…" as he stops midway to the balcony, then continues climbing.
"For stony limits cannot hold love out, and what love can do, that dares love attempt. Therefore thy Mother, nor Cinder are not stopped to me. To see you look severe more frightens me than her armies of Grimm and power." Her breath came rasp, and her cheeks flush red of sure commitment.
"Look you but sweet, and I am proof against their enmity." As he took a step forward while she took a step back.
"I would not go for the world they saw you here."
"But I would not have missed the words you spoke." Her heartbeats from his words as she slowly continues to step back while he follows.
"I blush to think what you have heard tonight. If I should ask you now for vows of love, I know you would say aye…but if you swear, you may prove false. They say that the brother of Dark laughs at lovers' perjuries. And will you now call me too fast? When had you not heard me, I should be slow as ice. Jaune, trust me, and I will prove more true than those who play the game with a far more cunning wit."
"Lady, by the yonder shatter moon, I swear that tips silver all the fruit treetops." He pledges, placing his right hand over his heart.
"Oh, swear not by the moon, the inconstant moon that monthly changes in her circled orb, lest that your love prove likewise variable." She smiles as her path stops with her back against the stone vase where the real Jaune is hiding behind. The Prince rests his arm over her head, looking down on his Princess.
"What shall I swear by?" he asks seductively
"Do not swear at all, and listen hard. Are we too rash, too unadvised, too quick?"
"No, for this bud of love in summer's breath will prove a beauteous flower when next we meet." As he caresses his hand on her cheek, as she embraces the soothing cold of his hand.
"I promise." The Prince leans closer to His Princess towards her soft, inviting lips till another voice calls out.
"Emerald!" Cinder's voice calls out with the illusion cease and faded as Emerald stood up as Cinder entered her room.
"Emerald, there you are. Have you've seen Jaune? he was supposed to-" Pause and notice Jaune on the floor behind the bed while Emerald follows.
"Oh, Jaune, there you are. Why were you sitting behind Emerald's bed?" Cinder asks, which gives Emerald a jolt of shock. As she sees the messy blonde hair slowly raises, peeking over her bed while he lightly waves towards Emerald, her face blush red as her eyes.
"S-Sorry, Cinder, I was a bit sleepy and must've mistaken Emerald's room from mine." He lightly chuckles while starching the back of his head. As she sighs in disappointment, pinching the bridge of her nose.
"No matter, now come on, your mother is holding a meeting." Leaving the two alone as Emerald approach Jaune and lightly tug on his shirt for attention, like a little girl asking her parent.
"How-how much did you see?" she stutters, looking down to the floor, embarrassed.
"Th-the whole thing…." Jaune blushes as Emerald's face burns brighter red than before; steam is slowly coming from her head of embarrassment with her hands covering her face. And the silences aren't helping the situation as it became even more awkward than before.
"E-Emerald…" Jaune calls out for her attention as she slowly looks up and sees the surprise of Jaune's face flush red like a tomato and veering his eyes away, embarrassed.
"If-if you like…would you like to….join me in a moonlit ride through the Grimmlands?"
Emerald nods yes without a word or sound as Jaune slowly reaches for her hand, gently holds on to her hand, and gradually leads her out of the room.
"We'll discuss more after the meeting." He states, still embarrassed, while Emerald just nods in silence and in embarrassment.
"By the way…" he calls out for her attention.
"you looked gorgeous in a dress, my princess." He teases as her face burn even brighter, and her head begins to smoke out even more.
