Chapter 7: Lucky Girl
"Wielder of the Omnitrix, you have been a thorn in my side for the last few weeks, but no more because I will be coming for you. And when I do, you'll be on your knees begging for your life after I extract the Omnitrix from you. You will cower in fear once you realize, who I am!" Ben soon bolted out of his bed drenched in sweat. He felt himself hyperventilating. He placed his hand onto his face and his heart and felt it slowing down a bit, 'That dream again.'
After Goop had separated Rojo from the machinery, the circuitry inside her shorted out and zapped his badge. Then he saw it, or saw him. The warlord that Doctor Strange warned him about. Vilgax. The Warlord that has conquered different planets and now is hunting him for device he was wielding: the Omnitrix. Since the decoupling, Ben has been having nightmares and it hasn't been letting up.
Max and Gwen had no idea of Ben's night terrors or his vision of Vilgax. Ben was told by his grandpa and cousin they'd be visiting a Witchcraft Museum. Ben sighed, he'd hadn't had a peaceful night of sleep since taking down Rojo. Vilgax's face, his warning. It was terrorizing him, Ben didn't wanna admit it outloud, but he was scared. He might have the Omnitrix, yes, but deep down he knew it. He was scared of him. Shaking his head, he let out a small sigh before hopping out of bed. Maybe he should talk to someone.
'Oh yeah? Like who? Gwen and Grandpa don't know what I saw. And even if I could tell them, they'd also be in danger.' He thought.
'Well you're not alone, you have someone who could help you with this.' The voice inside his head reasoned.
'Besides Grandpa and Gwen. I don't have anyone. I thought Kevin could be a good partner, but immediately switched up on me.'
'We're not talking about Kevin. We met someone else in New York earlier that day.'
Ben's eyes widened, 'Doctor Strange.'
'Excatly. He was the one who warned us of the warlord's presence. Maybe it'll be a good idea to give him a call.'
'I don't know.' He thought rubbing the back of his neck nervously as he entered the bathroom.
'Why not?'
'I guess I don't want to bother him with my problems.' He looked himself into the mirror and was shocked when the mirror version of him spoke back.
'This isn't just your problem, it'll be Gwen's problem, Grandpa's problem, Strange's problem, and soon enough the Earth's problem. Give Strange a call, and go from there.' The mirror spoke, Ben sighed. He couldn't believe he was having a full blown conversation with himself, but he was right, like always.
After Ben did his personal hygiene, he left the bathroom to come back to the empty Rust Bucket. He soon got dressed sporting his signature black and white hightop converses, black jeans, white T-shirt, and his favorite #10 jacket. He soon left the mobile home and caught his grandpa and cousin eating a regular breakfast, that didn't have bugs, tentacles, slime, or any animal body organs. Just a simple eggs and bacon breakfast.
"Good morning, Ben. Hope your hungry." Max greeted which made Ben a bit skeptical on what was taking place.
"Yeah, a little bit, but I have a phone call to make. I'll be right back." Ben soon shut the RV door gaining quizzical looks from Gwen and Max.
"What's wrong with Ben?" Max asked.
"Beats me. Looks like he's seen a ghost." Gwen answered as she looked down at her phone.
Max then looked back to the Rust Bucket before going back to enjoy his breakfast. Ben took out his wallet and pulled out the card Strange gave him. He soon dialed the number and heard it ring a few times before going straight to voicemail. He dialed it again and the same thing happened. He tried once more and still nothing.
He flopped into the booth and sighed, "Well so much for that plan." He put the card back into his wallet and placed it back into his pocket. He walked back out to his grandpa and cousin as they quickly fixed him a plate.
Ben ate quickly before they were on the road to the Museum.
The trio was soon walking around the museum being lead by a tour guide. Ben then suddenly stops as he sees various tribal masks, he gazes at them in curiosity before seeing his grandpa and cousin wandering ahead. The tour guide stopped infront of a display case and gestured to an old book.
"This is very ancient book called the Archamada book of Spells. It's said to contain ancient spells rituals, witchcrafts, and incantations, dating back to the sixteenth century." She explained, Gwen gazed in amazement, she'd had always been curious about magic.
"Incredible." Gwen utters in fascination.
Ben had finally caught up to his family before he saw his cousin eyeing the book in fascination, "I wonder what spells are in there." She wonders as Ben in turn gazed at the book.
"Come on you two let's go." Max replied gaining the duos attention. Ben and Gwen were pulled from their musings at the voice of their grandfather.
"Coming. Let's go, Gwen-" Ben was soon interrupted as he, his cousin, their grandfather, and everyone in the area were suddenly lifted off their feet.
"Wh-what's happening?" The tour guide stuttered out as everyone was pinned to the ceiling.
"I don't suppose this is part of the tour?" Max questioned as a man soon strolled casually into the large room carrying a large wooden staff with a bird's head and a necklace with dozens of magical and mystical charms on it.
He had grey skin with black symbols on his shoulders. His attire was like that of a tribal or a nomad. He wore a red and black dress and hood, and black pants that were torn beyond his knees. He also had black arm guards and long socks that didn't cover his heels or toes. His face was painted white and black to resemble a skull.
Ben was reaching for the device clamped onto his wrist, he quickly started scrolling through his playlist to find someone who'd be able to help them in this situation. Gwen and Max watched as the old mage uttered something under his breath and the book of Archamada came flying into his hand shattering the display case into shards of glass.
"Soon, immense power will be MINE!" He bellowed before levitating and soaring out the room. As soon as he left the magic holding everyone up ceased, dropping them all to the ground.
"Anytime now, Ben!" Gwen yelled.
Ben didn't care what he got, he needed someone fast, 'Times like these, I wished I had an alien that had super speed.' He slammed his hand onto the faceplate as an emerald light occured. Ben soon flipped onto his feet as the emerald light died down, "SWAMPFIRE!"
Swampfire grinned internally, "Not exactly what I had in mind, but Swampfire definitely works." He soon slammed his hands onto the tiled floor as large dark green vines erupted from the ground. The people soon landed ontop of the vines letting out sighs of relief.
"Ben, be careful, you don't know what you're dealing with." Max warned as Swampfire nodded firmly. He soon raced out of the museum after the warlock.
Swampfire sees the warlock before the vines around his mouth enclose on him, leaving behind his blazing emerald eyes. He launches two fireballs at the magician who dodges both of them, "I don't think we've been properly introduced." Swampfire replied slamming his fist into his open palm. The magician could see steam rising from his fist, "I'm called Swampfire." The Methanosian replied.
"I'm out of your league, monster. Comeback when you have more experience dealing with magicians." The man replied unfazed by the alien.
Swampfire sighed, "Listen whoever you are, you've got two options. Return the book and walk away while I'm giving you the chance or I can light you on fire. Simple as that."
"You won't be talking for long, creature." The man soon muttered a spell before the banner above him flew downwards like a snake wrapping itself around the man before he uttered a word he couldn't understand, but the banner like snake understood it perfectly.
Swampfire could take a guess he said, 'Attack' cause that's exactly what he did. The snake banner flew towards him when Swampfire lifted up both his arms and a barrage of flames bursted forth. The banner serpent soon bursted into flames and was reduced into nothing, but ash.
"Was that seriously the best you could do?" Swampfire mocked as the man smirked when he uttered another spell under his breath and Swampfire could have sworn he felt the ground shake beneath him, "What was that?"
The rumblings got louder and heavier knocking over some of the museums display cases. He was soon knocked off his feet when a large fist bursted from the ground. The muddy figure soon stood at fifteen feet tall towering over the Methanosian. He had large rocks for eyes and a wide mouth, "Me and my big mouth." Swampfire mumbled as the mud golem raised it's large arms and slammed them downwards.
Swampfire went a bit wide eyed as he flipped onto his feet, landing in a low crouch position. He gazed at the spot he'd had been in previously to see the floor caved in.
"You asked if that was the best I could do? No it wasn't." He replied laughing maniacally, "Get rid of this creature!" He ordered.
The mud golem obeyed without question as it roared loudly. Swampfire gulped a bit when the golem rushed forward. Swampfire ducked under a swing from the mud monster, but failed to see the other large fist collide with his abdomen. The punch launched him into a nearby wall where he groaned in pain. If he weren't an alien, he'd be sure-no positive that punch would have killed him. He was soon broken from his thoughts as the mud monster picked him up by his waist, but Swampfire wasn't gonna let the monster have the advantage.
He soon blasted him with a volley of flames before feeling the monster roar in pain and stumble backwards. Swampfire landed onto his feet and rushed forward punching the mud monster, but forgot it's made of mud. His fist got stuck in its body. After the monster got over his initial shock of pain, gazed down to see the Methanosian stuck. The monster growled, Swampfire grinned nervously.
"Uh, mind helping me? Kinda stuck, ya'know?" He laughed nervously, but that was soon shortlived when he was clocked straight in the face. The magician watched as he tried to crack wise with the mindless Beast.
He grinned internally as Swampfire sailed through the air and collided with a set of samurai armor. Swampfire could have sworn he saw stars spinning in his vision. He nursed his pounding head, as his healing factor did its best to heal him, "Okay, this is not as much fun as I thought it'd be." The mud monster roared again before racing towards him, Swampfire thrusted his arms forward as a even stronger blast of fire roared from the palms of his hands.
The mud monster stopped dead in its tracks as the flames burned it's body away. Swampfire huffed in annoyance, "Finally, got rid of your little pet."
"You think so?" He questioned and Swampfire honest to God, didn't like the sound of that. He smirked evilly about to create an army of golems when a trash can was knocked into his exposed back, "WHO DARES-" He yelled only to be kicked in the face by the red haired teenager.
Swampfire raced forward as the dazed magician wobbled backwards, "Don't forget about me!" He yelled before clocking the magician in the face sending him flying into a wall where he was rendered unconscious.
After the man hit the wall, one of his small beige charms flew off of him wheeling itself over to Swampfire who picked it up. He smirked to himself before hearing a loud blaring noise. He gazed at his badge to see it flashing red and in a flash of red, Ben was reverted back to normal holding the charm in his hand.
Max had walked over to him having distracted the magician, before Gwen delivered that painful roundhouse kick to his face, and for Ben to deliver the final blow. Luckily the trio was able to slip out while the police questioned everyone and wheeled the maniac away.
As the trio sat in the RV, Ben was gazing at the charm curiously before Gwen questioned him, "What's that?"
Ben shrugged, "Looks like a charm. I got it from the weird magician. By the way thanks for the backup." He smiled at his grandpa and cousin.
"No problem, to bad I didn't get anything from it." She sighed sadly. Ben seeing his cousins disappointment gazed at the charm in his hand before sliding it over to his cousin, "Ben? This is your souvenir."
"Nah, I have plenty. Plus you did well, both you and grandpa. Don't know where I'd be if you two hadn't intervened. He looked ready to summon more golems." Ben shivered in fear while rubbing his stomach where the golem had punched him. He was glad that he turned into Swampfire or else he'd be sure his ribs would be broken, "Thanks again. You deserve it more than me."
Max looked on from his rearview mirror at his grandkids smiling at how well they were getting along. Gwen smiled at her cousin before hugging him, "Thanks dweeb."
"No problem, doofus."
As the police escorted the magician to the police department, the magician was glaring intently when the charms on his chest started glowing yellow. He soon disintegrates the handcuffs and swipes his hand in a distinguished motion. The two officers in the car were about to pull out their guns when their necks snapped at the same time.
The police cruiser soon made an abrupt stop into a telephone pole. The front of the vehicle started smoking intently when the car door holding the magician was removed straight from its hinges. The magician held out his hand and waited for a few moments when his staff came flying into his hands. He twirled his staff before a large sinister grin spread onto his face, "My destiny is drawing near." He soon levitated into the air and disappearing from sight.
The trio is sitting in a restaurant, Max is rubbing his stomach and sighing in delight, "That was delicious." Ben and Gwen's fork stab into the last crawfish. The two cousins glance at one another before pulling it from the other.
"No fair, Ben, you've eaten most of them. I deserve the last one." Gwen glared, he glanced down to the charm he gave her who was wearing it as a necklace.
"And I gave you that charm, so I should get the final crawfish." He retorts as Gwen scoffs.
"That's not gonna happen. I want the last one." She glares pushing her glasses up.
"Well too bad, I'm gonna eat it." He glared back. The two began wrestling control for the crawfish when Gwen suddenly knocks his fork onto the floor. The charm on Gwen's neck starts glowing as the fork hits a passing by waitress in the foot causing her to toss the glasses on her tray in the air in pain.
One of the glasses catches on a chandelier, causing it to spin. The glass is then tossed into the kitchen, disrupting the cook and making him run into a cart with a bowl of live lobsters. The cart soon rolls back towards the Tennyson's table where the cart bucks the bowl upwards landing on Ben's head.
The bowl shatters on his head as the lobsters soon start clawing at him. The boy in question yells in pain as the lobsters claw the absolute shit out of him. Gwen and Max looked worried as Gwen soon shrugged and ate the last crawfish.
The chef and the waitress were soon apologizing to the trio and guaranteed their meal was free. On account of Ben getting tortured by the lobsters. Gwen was grinning abit on account of getting a free meal, what are the odds on that. Max, Gwen, and a heavily injured Ben were walking back to the Rust Bucket.
"You alright, Ben?" Max questioned the teenager who was bleeding through his clawed up T-shirt, he had claw marks on his face some were bleeding others just hurt too much.
Ben winced, but nodded, "Yeah, I'll be fine. Put some alcohol on it, wrap it in bandages, and take some pain meds."
"What are the odds that bowl of lobsters land on you?" Gwen snickered as Ben glared at her.
"It's not funny." He rolled his eyes as she kept laughing it up.
"Okay, I'm sorry, here how about I buy you an ice cream cone." Gwen offered as they soon stopped by an ice cream cart.
"That actually sounds pleasant. Hopefully you don't take too long tryna pick what flavor you want." Ben rubbed his head as he remembered how long it took her to pick a flavor.
"I don't know what your talking about." She said curtly as Ben rolled his eyes nursing his stinging wounds, but before she could order anything the trio hears an old woman yelling loudly.
"HELP! HE STOLE MY PURSE! SOMEONE STOP HIM!"
A man in a black ski mask with two other guys race off laughing loudly when Max jumps in their way, "Oh no, you don't. Didn't your mother teach you not to steal from old ladies."
"I don't know why don't you ask her, gramps." One of the thugs scoffed. They were too distracted when Gwen approached sweeping out one of the thugs legs.
The other two were in shock as he hit the ground, "HEY!" One of the thugs yelled, but he was soon distracted when Max put him in a headlock. The last Thug was stumped on what to do, so he pulled out a switchblade and raced at the red head.
Ben had hidden behind the ice cream cart, tryna dial up an alien when the Omnitrix chose not to cooperate, "Oh come on?" Ben peeked around the corner and noticed one of the thugs racing towards his cousin with a knife. He went wide eyed before he even knew what was happening his body was moving on it's own.
Gwen's charm soon started glowing as the man was tackled by her cousin. Ben did his best to avoid getting sliced by the knife when the thug gritted his teeth and yanked his arm back as Ben stumbled backwards into a juggler on a unicycle.
"Tryna be a hero, kid? Let's see how far that gets you." He glared before advancing on the shocked teenager. The juggler loses control of his unicycle where it knocks into the ice cream cart's wedging block. The ice cream cart rolls backwards crashing into various stands, knocking into a tent where the pole, hits a nearby balcony knocking off one of the flowerpots as it soon descends downwards.
Ben was soon backing up while fiddling with the Omnitrix, "Come on! Anything will do!" He shouted as the thug laughed.
"Fiddling with your watch in a situation like this, isn't gonna save you." He laughed before the said flower pot landed on his head. The thug stumbled backwards grasping his head in pain when Gwen grabbed him by his wrist and judo flipped him over her shoulder.
"But I will." She spoke as she gazed over to her cousin who was clutching his chest.
Max walked over to the two, "You kids alright?"
"Yeah, we're fine, right Ben?"
Ben looked up and the two could tell he was a pale as a ghost before nodding, "Uh yeah. I'm good."
"You sure, kiddo?" Max asked abit concerned for his grandson.
"Yeah, might need to lay down." Ben soon left for the Rust Bucket while gazing at the Omnitrix, 'That was weird, why didn't you work?' He soon opened the door to the RV and walked inside.
The old lady clutching her purse caught sight of the old man and the young lady, "You're a hero." She smiled, "Thank you so much."
"Don't mention it." Gwen smiled, "Besides I wasn't alone. My cousin just left. Guess he was a bit shaken up more than we thought."
"Well you three are heroes." She was soon reaching into her purse, "Let me repay you for it-" When Gwen cut her off.
"No charge ma'am. All in a days work."
"Are you sure?" She asked firmly.
"Yeah, I'm sure." She nodded as the old lady smiled and hugged her before hugging Max next.
"Thank you again, please be sure to tell your cousin, he has my thanks." The old lady soon waved before leaving.
"Well done, Gwen." Max praised his granddaughter.
"Thanks, but Ben did help me. He tackled that guy with the knife."
"Team effort." Max chuckled as he soon started making his was back to the RV.
"Guess so." Gwen smiled, as she was about to leave she caught sight of black and purple cat like mask.
Ben was lying in his bed, he could hear his grandpa snoring up a storm. He groaned as he tossed and turned and soon pulled his pillow over his head to drown out the noise, but it was no use. He hopped out of bed to use the bathroom. He was wearing a tank top and boxers when he noticed his cousin was gone.
"Gwen?" He soon left the RV to see his cousin on a soccerfield with his equipment. She was currently juggling the ball between her legs and launched it upwards before flipping onto her hands and kicking the ball into the net.
Ben was flabbergasted when he saw this. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes before he saw Gwen balancing another ball on her foot before juggling it between her knees, then launching it onto her head. It soon rolled down her back before where the heel of her left foot kicked it over her head. She spun around quickly before shooting the ball into the net. Ben decided to make his presence known and started clapping gaining his cousins attention.
"Well, guess we can add soccer to the list of things your better than me at." He laughed as she did aswell.
"I wouldn't say I'm better, just lucky." She replied as she tossed him the ball.
"Yeah, your luck has been all over the place." He caught the ball with his chest before juggling it onto his knees.
"Yeah, it's strange, but in a good way. Everytime I do something impossible the charm glows."
"So the charm is granting you all that mysterious luck? Interesting. Anyway, why are you up so late?"
"Guess so" She laughed before looking at him, "Grandpa's snoring. You?"
"Grandpa." Ben answered as the two cousins started laughing.
After their laughing fit ended the two cousins took a seat on the bench before Gwen gazed at him, "Hey Ben?"
Ben gazed over at her, "Yeah?"
"You think I'll ever be a hero, like you?"
Ben raised an eyebrow, "Of course. Besides where would I be without you. You've got a good head on your shoulders, Gwen, believe it or not, you'd make a great hero after me of course." He laughed as she playfully shoved him.
"Thanks, I needed to hear that."
"No worries, we're a team. Gotta look out for each other." He smiled, "Now let's see how lucky you are after I kick your ass in soccer."
She grinned determined, "Oh, your so on!"
Max yawned as he stumbled out of the RV, to find his grandkids laughing and having a friendly soccer match. He watched with a small smile before remembering his past that he was hiding from them. He quickly shook his head as he called out to them, "Anyone in the mood for some breakfast."
As the trio got ready for breakfast, a nearby explosion occurs gaining said trios attention. The cables to a lift was severed leaving both men stranded above the ground hanging by a thread. Ben and Gwen glance at one another before nodding the duo took off in opposite directions.
Max was a bit worried when he noticed both his grandkids were gone, "Ben? Gwen?" He called out, but they were long gone.
Ben hid behind a porta-potty and activated the Omnitrix. The faceplate launched upwards earning a grin from the boy in question, "Oh yeah. It's hero time!" He scrolled through the playlist before landing on one and slamming his hand onto the faceplate being engulfed in an emerald light.
Ben's body started resembling a dark red and black large crab. His hands turned into pincers with white bands wrapped around them. He grew six crab like legs with a large head that opened up to reveal his large brain. On both shoulders were two metallic circular bolts. Under his large emerald eyes were two smaller eyes with a large mouth revealing his teeth. On his body was a grey waistband with the Omnitrix badge reappearing there, "BRAINSTORM!" The Cerebrocrustacean exclaimed.
"Been a while since I've used Brainstorm, let's see if my enhanced intelligence should be sufficient in saving these homosapiens." Brainstorm went racing back towards the construction sight as he caught sight of a blur of black and purple figure racing ahead.
The figure turned around and smirked behind her mask, "Seems the Omnitrix is working again?" She questioned before the large crab alien grinned.
"Indeed, shall we offer our services to these troubled civilians?"
"Indeed, my luck and your brains should be able to figure it out." She smirked as He nodded firmly.
"By the way, what shall I call you, Gwendolyn?" Brainstorm asked curiously.
Gwen smirked, "Lucky Girl."
Brainstorm chuckled before gazing towards the two men who were about to fall. His emerald eyes darted around the area immediately, he was soon surrounded by green windows as he started analyzing everything surrounding them both. His gaze soon fell toward a man trapped inside his truck by a steel beam.
'Wooden board. Demolition crane with a wrecking ball. Elevator. Cement Truck. Chute.' The green analysis windows soon close as he gazes at awaiting hero next to him.
"What's first?" She asked, he raises his clawed pincer towards the steel beam trapping the man inside his truck.
"Jump on that wooden beam, it should move the steel beam." He replied as she raised an eyebrow before racing over to it when the charm started glowing brightly. She jumped onto the wooden board, which launched into the cranes operating systems and watched as the demolition crane with the wrecking ball collided with the steel beam freeing the man.
The wrecking ball soon collides into the cement truck causing it to rush backwards as the elevator soon rocked itself free knocking the two men into a freefall when the cement truck crashed into a yellow safety chute which the two men landed ontop of safely. Debris started falling as Brainstorm opened his large shelled head revealing his large brain, with a few metallic bolts attached to it, sparks of electricity danced across his brain as a large shield formed around the crowd. The debris disintegrated upon touching the electric formed shield. Everyone started cheering loudly for the newly named hero, Lucky Girl.
Brainstorm grinned brightly, 'Everything went according to my plan, excellent work, Lucky Girl.' Max walked over to Brainstorm and placed a hand onto his shoulder.
"Good job. You both did excellent work." Max smiled as the Cerebrocrustacean and him watched as Lucky Girl was being interviewed.
"I only calculated the necessary means to get the two men down safely, it was mainly Lucky Girl who did the work." Brainstorm answered.
"You were the brains behind the operation, give yourself more credit, Ben. You both are heroes." Max replied as Brainstorm chuckled gleefully.
"Can't argue with your knowledge, Grandfather." Brainstorm smirked before glancing at his cousin who waved at them.
The magician soon returns to the Witchcraft museum, he is looking through all the books unable to local the Archamada Book of Spells. His eyes fall onto the floating security guard who's utterly terrified. The magician ushers the floating guard forward as they stop face to face.
"The Archamada Book of Spells, where is it?!" He demanded glaring intently at the guard who pointed to the vault.
"In-insi-de the va-va-va-vault." He stuttered before he went flying into a pillar. The magician grinned satisfied after hearing a loud crunch after the guard hit the pillar.
He floated over to the vault, he lifted both his hands before tearing the vault door off it's hinges. He tossed the large metal door away as he saw his prize on a pedestal. He held his hand out as the small book of spells launched into his hand.
"THE WORLD WILL SOON BE MINE!" He yelled as he started flipping through the spells to find the one he wanted and started chanting it's words. After a few minutes nothing happened. He glared at the book, "Why isn't anything happening?!" He yelled before he noticed one of his charms is missing.
"My charm it's gone?!" He gritted his teeth in anger before remembering the creature named Swampfire had taken it as a souvenir, "That creature is gonna feel my wrath after I find my charm." He soon started leaving the Museum to find his missing charm when he noticed the security guard's small television.
The news was playing, but what had his attention was the young teenager in a black and purple suit with a mask. Around her neck was one of his charms. The magician glared he waved his hands as he crushed the small television, "After that I find that creature, the girl will also feel my wrath!" The magician known as Hex was fuming in anger after having his charm stolen from him.
Inside the RV, after Ben had reverted back to normal. Gwen decided to do some research on the charm. Ben was fiddling with the Omnitrix before glancing at his cousin, "Find anything on the charm?"
"Yeah, apparently this a charm is related to that book I took a fascination in back at that Museum. The Archamada book of Spells. Apparently this charm is one of five, it being luck. The others fire, levitation, reincarnation, and lightning or electricity." Gwen explained.
"Woah, that's cool. So that explains what the charms on the magician's neck were. What do you think we should do with them?" Ben asked.
"I think we should turn return the charm, it's too powerful." Max voiced his opinion when the two exchanged looks before laughing at their grandfather. Max had a stern look on his face, interrupting the duos laughing fit.
"Oh you were serious?" Ben replied.
"Yes, I am. We need to get it back to the museum."
"No/No Way!" Both Gwen and Ben replied.
"Why not?"
"I kinda wanna see the charm in action somemore." Ben answered.
"I wanna keep being a hero, Ben's gonna need me out there with him." Gwen answered and Ben nodded.
"That too." He agreed. Max sighed as he knew it was useless arguing when his grandkids actually agreed on something. The trio was soon interrupted by the news as Max turned it up.
"It seems that a famous haunted house museum has come to life, trapping dozens of visitors inside." The News anchor reports. Max immediately hops into the drivers seat and takes off.
The RV makes a screeching stop infront of the Museum, the door opens, with Ben in his usual hero attire, Gwen in her Lucky Girl costume, and Max who was closing the RV's door. They gazed at the museum in curiosity.
"What makes this place so haunted?" Ben questions as his cousin and grandpa shrug their shoulders as they walked towards the doors of the haunted house.
Max and Gwen pushed open the doors, the trio was shocked to see the scene unfolding before them. The furniture was alive and trying to harm everyone inside. Desk and chairs were flying through the air, while the balcony above them was wobbling too dangerously. The suits of armor were moving and tryna harm everyone.
"I think whoever did this took haunted to a whole new level." Ben quipped as Gwen and Max rolled their eyes, "Oh, come on. That one was good."
"No time for that, Ben, we've got work to do." Max replied as Ben nodded the trio went racing inside the haunted mansion museum.
Ben was scrolling through his playlist, "Oh yeah, SpiderMonkey, for the win!" He yelled before the rug underneath him slid out from under his feet, he collided with the floor, when it did he scrolled past SpiderMonkey's hologram onto someone else's.
"Okay, you're definitely gonna pay for that." He glared at the rug that raced towards him. Not even looking at the hologram, he slammed his hand onto the faceplate as he was engulfed in an emerald light.
Ben's skin started turning scaly and dark shade of brown. He grew till he was twelve feet tall, with a long tail swinging behind him. His teeth grew into fangs, he grew two large separate fangs on the side of his head, as he grew claws on the ends of his nubbed feet. He grew armor plating on his arms, shoulders, and chest, with silver spikes running from the top of his head down his back, some appeared on both his forearms, and two more appeared on the back of his legs. The Omnitrix appeared on his armorfied chest, "HUMUNGOUSAUR!" The Vaxasaurian didn't even bother acknowledging the wrong transformation as he caught the rug and tore it to shreds.
The Vaxasaurian gazed around when large pieces of debris flew towards him. He balled his hands into fists as he punched straight through the rubble shattering it upon impact. Lucky Girl raced beside him, "House is getting to you too, huh?"
"Shut up." He back handed an empty suit of armor, "See if you can get the people on the balcony down safely, I'll cover you."
"On it!" Lucky Girl soon races forward as the charm on her necklace starts glowing. She slides underneath a suit of armor, before flipping onto a flying desk, then launched onto a nearby pillar, before vaulting onto the balcony.
"Whoa-I mean, Show off." Humungousaur commented before racing over to the pillar and growing a few feet bigger to keep it steady, "Lucky Girl, GO!" He roared.
Lucky Girl gazed around to look for what she could use to get everyone down. Till she caught sight of the chandelier, it was large enough for everyone, "Alright, everyone I'm gonna hop onto that chandelier and swing it across, so be ready." She saw a few hesitant nods before she leaped onto the balcony's edge and launched over to the chandelier, her charm glowing in the process as she lands ontop of it.
Debris raced forward and started colliding with the Vaxasaurian who was doing his best to hold up the balcony. He dodged most of the projectiles, but others collided with his chest and face. Okay now he was getting annoyed, whoever was doing this is definitely gonna get a major ass kicking. He watched as the civilians soon started boarding the chandelier while his cousin helped them across.
As the last person climbs onto the balcony, an even larger piece of rubble is sent flying at Humungousaur. Lucky Girl and Max go wide eyed as Humungousaur picks up one the possessed pillars and swings it forward shattering both the pillar and the rubble. The debris goes flying everywhere colliding with one of the women on board who stumbles backwards and fell off the chandelier. Her fall was stopped when Lucky Girl grabbed her hand, smiling widely.
"Don't worry, I got you. Humungousaur, I'm gonna need a hand!" She yelled as the chandelier started collapsing. When the charm started glowing once again when the chandelier fell, but it was short lived when Humungousaur caught the large decoration.
The woman was soon placed onto her feet and raced for the exit as fast as her legs could carry her. Soon everyone onboard the chandelier raced towards the exit when the last person was gone, Lucky Girl hopped off the chandelier herself. Humungousaur tossed the large decoration away when their grandpa raced over to them. The exit soon closed abruptly leaving the three Tennyson's trapped inside.
"Is that everyone?" Lucky Girl asked.
"Seems so, let's find whoever did this-" Max was soon cut off when Humungousaur threw himself infront of his family when a possessed pillar smashed straight onto the Vaxasaurian launching him through a wall, "BEN!" Max yelled when Lucky Girl was lifted off her feet, "GWEN!"
Hex soon descended holding the book of Archamada with four of the five charms of Bezel. He glared at Max, "You're in the way, you insignificant cockroach." He waved his hand as the curtains behind him wrapped around him tightly.
"GRANDPA!" Gwen yelled then glaring at Hex, "You'll pay for this!" Gwen was soon launched across the room as Hex spoke angrily.
"As for you! You will return that charm to me!" He glared intently at the Tennyson girl. The charm glows brightly before she collides with a curtain, then slides down it. She lands onto her feet as the curtain falls and lands on Hex with a suit of armor landing ontop of him.
"You could always ask nicely, but even if you did, still wouldn't give it too you." She quipped before racing off down the hall. Yellow colored magic erupted from underneath the curtain as Hex was fuming in anger. He soon went racing after Gwen.
Gwen ran as fast as she could worried about her cousin and grandpa, "Wish I could help them, but not with skull face chasing after me." She doesn't even know where she's going when the charm starts glowing again leading her into the study. She glances at the still glowing charm, "Okay, what now?" She looks around before finding a book and revealing a hidden a passage, "It really must be my lucky day." She soon races down into the hidden passage.
Hex soon arrives inside the study blasting the door off it's hinges, he glances around to see the hidden passage and glares before following after the thief who stole his charm.
Humungousaur nursed his aching head before pulling himself together and glancing around to find himself in the museum's kitchen, "Figures." He races through the large hole before glancing around for Gwen, Max, or Hex. When he sees a large clump in the curtain, he immediately races forward and tears the curtains apart to find his grandpa breathing heavily, "Grandpa, are you alright?"
"Yeah, that magician is here and he's after Gwen." Max answered as Humungousaur gazed around in fear.
"Grandpa, where is Gwen?"
Max also glanced around, "I don't know, he made that curtain tie me up and when you saved me they were gone."
"Let's go they couldn't have gotten far." Humungousaur picks up Max before racing down the hall Gwen and Hex went down.
Gwen was racing through the museum's hidden passage that soon led her into the catacombs. She gazed around nervously looking for a place to hide when Hex appeared behind her, "Nowhere left to run, Lucky Girl."
"So you say." She dodged a fireball that Hex conjured. Gwen flipped onto her hands as a lightning bolt soared above her.
"HOLD STILL, YOU INSIGNIFICANT THIEF!" Hex yelled as Lucky Girl laughed loudly dodging every single spell launched at her.
"Gotta be faster than that if you wanna beat my luck." She laughed before leaping between the pillars. The charm started glowing again when one of the stones lands ontop of him. She sees a glowing light and immediately races off leading her into a graveyard. She decides to hide hoping her cousin and grandpa were on their way.
Hex bursts from the rubble, "I'm definitely gonna enjoy tearing her apart!" He roars before flying through the exit she left through.
Humungousaur and Max arrive in the study to find the door broken down and a large hidden passage, "Think they went through there?"
"Only exit in here. Let's go." Max replied as Humungousaur shrunk a few feet to fit through the secret passage before racing after his cousin.
Lucky Girl was hiding within the woods before Hex appears above her. She tries to run when the trees itself wrap around her arms and legs, "Not this time!" He snatches the charm from around her neck, grinning like a mad man, "Finally, this world will be MINE!" He places the luck charm back in the center before glancing back at the helpless hero, "As for you." He glared.
Gwen glances behind him and smirks, "You might wanna turn around, if I was you."
"You really believe, I'd fall for such a silly little trick." Hex gloated, but it was soon short lived when a large brown alien dinosaur tackled the magician to the ground hard.
"Told you so." She chided smugly. The trees holding her in place vanished as Max raced over to her, "Grandpa!" She hugged him tightly, "Are you alright?"
"Yeah, thanks to Ben. Are you alright?" Max asked giving his granddaughter a once over checking to see if she was wounded.
"I'm fine." Their concerns were soon short lived as Humungousaur was launched backwards colliding with a few coffins in the process, "We should probably go help him."
"Right behind you." Max said as him and Gwen raced off to help Humungousaur.
"You pests will soon understand true power!" He levitated above a large mausoleum where he recited a spell where red smoke bellowed from his staff where two gargoyles, one bigger gargoyle, and a large Minotaur came to life.
The smaller and larger gargoyle raced towards Humungousaur. The smaller one scratching up his face, while the other pounced on him. The Minotaur grabbed hold of the Vaxasaurian and tackled him through multiple coffins. Hex grinned, "1 down." He glanced over to Gwen and Max, "2 to go." He begins casting one of the smalls he saw inside the Archamada when he's hit in the leg by a rock.
"See grandpa, luck only takes you so far." She smirked before tossing another rock that hits him in between his eyes, rendering him unconscious. The smaller gargoyle seeing his master down flew after the duo.
Max picks up a large pole with some cement on it, "Going, going, going-" He swings the pole shattering the small gargoyle into rubble, "IT'S GONE!"
Humungousaur is tossed into another mausoleum destroying it upon impact. The larger gargoyle launches onto him again, biting his shoulder. Humungousaur grits his teeth as he races backwards and collides with another mausoleum, cracking the wall. The gargoyle let's go as the smaller gargoyle launches onto his face, but Humungousaur caught the little demon. He smashed it into the ground, shattering the rock monster and the ground.
The Minotaur raced forward, it's horns tilted upwards ready to impale the alien dinosaur. Humungousaur turned around immediately and caught the horns as Humungousaur was being pushed backwards. The larger gargoyle launched onto the Minotaur's back, it wrapped its large tail around his throat before pulling him onto his back where the Minotaur, grabbed him by his tail and spun him around and sent him flying. Humungousaur crashed into a dozen coffins before coming to a stop where the two rock monsters snarled at him.
Humungousaur glared as he picked up a stone axe, he spun it around testing it's weight before glaring at the rock monsters. The larger gargoyle snarled before the Vaxasaurian lifted up two fingers and urged it to come at him. The gargoyle roared before charging at him, Humungousaur glared before he spun the axe around and swinging it like a baseball bat, shattering the gargoyle and the axe in the process. The Minotaur glared as it moved around cautiously when it finally charged forward, Humungousaur also charged forward the two colliding head on. The Vaxasaurian soon overpowered the stone beast before wrapping it's large arms around his throat before throwing it forward. The Minotaur fell onto it's hands and knees before glaring when the Vaxasaurian picked up a large stone sword. He tested it's weight again before rushing towards the beast raising the sword over his head and bringing it down onto the beast, taking its head off. The sword shattered upon impact as he held the handle before throwing it away. He knew the magician was tryna distract him from helping his family, so he needed to get back there quickly.
Gwen soon picked up the charms that were knocked off of Hex. She placed them onto the coffin as she grabbed a shovel nearby, "Too bad."
Hex started regaining consciousness when he noticed his charms were gone, he soon noticed what Lucky Girl was about to do, "NO! STOP! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!"
Lucky Girl shattered the charms with the shovel, after destroying the charms a large burst of yellow magic hit both Hex and Lucky Girl. Humungousaur and Max saw the wave of approaching as the Vaxasaurian grew till he was fifty feet tall and shielded his grandpa with his body.
Gwen rubbed her head as she looked around to see Hex unconscious, "Good guys 5, evil magician 0." She chuckled as she tried to stand up, but felt extremely tired for some reason.
"Gwen!" Max and Humungousaur raced over to the heroine, "You okay, kiddo?"
"Just tired, but other than that, peachy." She smiled. Earning sighs of relief from both Max and Ben, who's badge started flashing red. In a red light, he was reverted back to normal.
Max gazed over to the unconscious Hex, "What shall we do with him?"
Ben grinned mischievously, "I got an idea."
When Hex regained consciousness for the third time, he found he was trapped inside a coffin, "LET ME OUT OR SUFFER MY ETERNAL WRATH!" The lid to the coffin soon opened revealing the police who cuffed and arrested him.
The trio were soon leaving when Gwen placed her Lucky Girl mask inside a box with a sad expression on her face, "Till next time, Lucky Girl."
Ben could tell this hurt her, she enjoyed being a hero along side him, "Gwen."
Gwen looked at him, "Yeah?"
"I don't think this'll be the last time we see lucky girl." He smiled which made her confused.
"Ben, it's sweet of you to say that, but with those charms of Bezel. I'm just another nobody. You have the Omnitrix and can go hero whenever you want." Gwen sulked.
"Not necessarily." He grinned as she raised an eyebrow at him.
"What are you talking about?" She questioned him.
Ben reached into his pocket and pulled out a small book. Gwen's eyes went wide when she saw what it was, "Ben? Is this what I think it is?"
"Yep, the Archamada Book of Spells. I swiped it from Hex, during the fight. Plus I can see how much being Lucky Girl means to you, so here alittle gift to you." Ben smiled sliding the book over to her.
Gwen's eyes started watering, "Ben, I don't know what to say."
"Gwen, you did an amazing job. With this book you'll become an excellent magician. Hopefully a more saner one than doctor skull face." Ben joked.
"Isn't that sweet." Max chided, "How thoughtful of you Ben."
"It's nothing, grandpa. Gotta share the limelight sooner or later." Ben laughed as Gwen hugged him tightly.
"Thank you so much, Ben. You have no idea how much this means to me."
"That's what families for." Ben hugged her back.
Max grinned, he can never get used to seeing them like this. Especially compared to how they were when they were ten, but they both grew up into extraordinary heroes. Heroes he couldn't be more proud of, "Alright, you two, next stop California!"
The two cousins nodded before Ben jumped into the front seat, "LET'S GO!"
In an abandoned two story building, the windows were broken. Their were various holes inside the roof, the door was broken. Multiple gravestones littered the yard, with large trees surrounding the building. In the top floor of the building, candles littered the entire room.
In the center of the room is a large circle with a star in the middle, a woman was levitating in a meditate state in the center of the diagram.
The young woman had long fluffy silver hair and wore a purple dress with a pink ribbon around her waist and a black crown on her head. In addition to that, she wore black fingerless gloves. At the top of her dress, she had a cerise pink gem with a golden border, and she also wore long dark purple flat boots. She wore her long silver hair laid out that extended to her thighs, orchid eyes, and very dark purple lipstick.
The woman was mediating when her ears perked up, "It seems the magician known as Hex has been defeated." The woman opened her striking purple eyes to catch a glimpse of Lucky Girl and Humungousaur. She narrowed her eyes before flicking her hand towards the small television that went sailing towards the wall smashing into pieces.
"Seems that uncle Hex has failed." She closed her eyes and begun meditating again, "Might be time to reveal myself." She once more glanced at the TV that froze on both Humungousaur and Lucky Girl, "Just you kiddies wait to you see what I have in store for you." She grinned evilly.
