A/N: Hey everyone, thanks for the feeback, means alot to me. Anyway remember in chapter 5, when Ben met Strange, and he asked if the Avengers existed? They haven't formed yet, so far we've only seen two Marvel characters appear, but don't worry there will be more coming. Especially in this chapter, look forward to it. Btw throughout this series we will be exploring what else is in this universe, better buckle up for the crazy ride.
Chapter 17: Ultimate Weapon
In the vast jungle of Texas, a bunch of scientist, miners, and researchers have been studying the layout for months in search of something. As the miners worked the scientist's radar started going crazy alerting them of possible danger.
One of the scientist's pick up a radar too see it spinning out of control, "What's happening?"
"No idea, there's no radiation in the air."
"Can't be just a coincidence."
As the reseachers and scientist's worked on whatever was going on, the miners felt a slight tremor within the earth, "You guys feel that?"
"Yeah, felt like an earthquake."
"Why would an earthquake happen now, tho?"
"I don't know, but I'm not liking it one bit."
As the miners got closer within the tunnel, the tremors or earthquake's got more frequent to the point they were being knocked off there feet. But they tredged onwards, when they hit a deadend.
"This can't be the end?"
"I suspect it isn't. The earthquake's were getting frequent to the point it was protecting something."
"Protecting something?"
"It's just a guess." He chuckled before another large tremor struck cracking the floors in the process. When flickers of fire leaped out gaining the crew's attention.
"What's happening?!"
Lava started rising from the crevices, with a rather sudden gust of wind picking up. The lava rose up as the crew backed up in fear. The lava soon starts swirling around in the form of tornado.
The crew didn't even hesitate as they ran from the lumbering fiery tornado. As they did they realized the cave was coming down on them with a certain mask hidden inside.
As they made it out the group of researchers and scientists gazed at it in shock when the crew of miners made there drastic exit. The crew of miners soon explain what transpired inside which caused one of the scientists broke way from the group and quickly pulled out a black burner phone.
"Sir, we found something..." She replied into the phone.
"...Moniter the situation...I'll make sure this doesn't reach anyone's ears. I'll send someone to claim what you've found..." The voice rumbled out, "Hail Hydra!"
"Hail Hydra!" She replied before hanging up.
Meanwhile, The Tennyson family plus Hope, were sitting in the blazing sun. Ben and Max sat on one side of the bench while Gwen and Hope took the other side. They all had blue bowls sitting infront of them.
"Don't be shy, eat up, you three." Max smiled before scooping up the contents inside the bowl and scarfing it down, sighing in contempt.
Ben raised an eyebrow before looking at his cousin and his friend. He then scooped up the contents inside his bowl, "Uh grandpa, what is this?" Max didn't answer seeming to enjoy the food he's cooked.
Gwen was unsure if it was even edible, she then gazed over to Hope who took an actual bite, "Is it good?"
"I don't know, it's abit crunchy." She soon took another bite, Ben and Gwen exchanged looks before taking bites themselves.
"Huh, it's actually not that bad." Gwen replied before taking another bite.
"I know, grandpa, what is this stuff?" Ben took another bite as did Hope.
"It's dung beetles." He smiled, taking another bite. When he heard spoons clattering. He looked at his grandkids and then Hope who were all green in the face, "You guys okay?"
Hope raced back into the RV, as she slammed the bathroom door shut. Gwen had raced over to bush and puked her guts out. While Ben had no shame, he lurched over to his right and hurled on the floor. Max shrugged his shoulders as he kept eating the bung beetle cereal he made.
As the teenagers rejoined the table an alarm started going off inside the RV, gaining there attention. The group soon rushed into the RV, where one of the cupboards opens to reveal a moniter inside. Hope looked over to Ben and Gwen.
"Do all motorhome's have hidden systems inside." She asked curiously.
"Our grandpa is a retired Plumber." Gwen answered.
"He used to unclog toilets?" Hope asked incredulously.
"We used to think that too, but no. He's apart of an intergalactic organization that deals with alien threats known as the Plumber's." Ben explained, but the look on Hope's face never wavered, "We'll explain it in more detail later." Hope shrugged before turning towards Max who was still typing away on the keyboard.
Max's eyes widen in horror, "No? This can't be?" Ben, Gwen, and Hope shared a look with each other before Ben decided to speak up.
"What's wrong, grandpa?" Ben asked. When Max steps back from the moniter and adjusts the screen so the three of them can see it. The three teenagers gazed at the weird looking mask.
The mask with a crisp color and large green eyes, which are the way to reveal the mask's usage. Its sockets are gold and square with the circular descent.
"It's a mask?" Gwen adds curiously.
Max sighs, "It's not just any mask. Its the mask of Ah Puch, which is the key to the most destructive sword in the world." He then changed the image to a sword.
The weapon is a black and gold Aztec sword. It has a black rectangular hilt with two grooves and gold veins ending with a (what appears to be) serpent's head with red eyes in place of the pommel and has no guard. The blade is fitted into the top of the hilt and is shaped as a flat golden shard with jagged edges and its most prominent feature is its bright golden aura.
"Whoa."
"This is the sword of Ek Chuaj, the Mayan God of War, his sword is legend to wipe out a city in one swipe." Max explains which sends the three teenagers with rather shocked looks.
"And how do you know all this?" Gwen asked.
"I spent the last 40 years looking for it, but to think it'll appear now of all times. This isn't a coincidence, we need to get moving." Max instructs.
"How are we supposed to find this mask?" Hope asks.
"I should be able to locate it." Max answers as Ben closes the RV door and sends the motorhome bumbling down the road.
"Huh, locating a ancient relic, finding a mythological sword, and possibly fighting a Mayan God? This should be fun." Ben smirked as the two girls rolled their eyes.
"Ben, now is not the time to be thinking about these kinds of things. The sword alone can change the fight of mankind." Max says in a stern voice causing Ben to raise an eyebrow.
"Sorry grandpa."
The RV stops infront of the a rather small building, in the general area where the Mask was found. The retired plumber, the alien shape shifter, and the two witches all traveled on foot to the back entrance of the building before turning towards Ben.
"Alright, Ben, you'll go in first and shut down the security system, while me, Gwen, and Hope head to the basement where the mask is." Max instructed before Ben nodded.
Ben soon activated the Omnitrix and started scrolling through his playlist before landing on one and slammed his hand onto the faceplate.
Ben felt his body dissolving, his flesh, bones, everything dissolved into an emerald green puddle of slime. A small grey device with green outlining the sides, resembling a UFO flew downwards picking up the humanoid pile of goo. His eyes were outlined black racing down his neck. On his chest floating around was his green and black hourglass badge, but it had three pegs one of the top and two on the sides located at the bottom, "GOOP!" The Polymorph exclaimed. The Polymorph melted the grates on the drain and soon slithered inside.
"You think Ben'll be okay?" Hope asked.
"Yeah, I think so." Gwen chuckled.
Max soon got to work, picking the lock on the door before gazing at the door, "Either of you have a lock picking skill for this?"
Gwen and Hope exchanged looks before shrugging when Hope stepped forward and raised her hand, "HIDREYA!" Soon a purple door opened within the door that led to the basement.
"Whoa, how'd you do that?" Gwen baulked.
"It's the door to anywhere." Hope answers.
"Let's go, hopefully Ben shut down the security systems." Max replies as he leads them inside. While they walked into the basement, a black limousine pulls up watching them intently.
Goop was traveling through the drainage pipes before seeing his exit, he pushed the grate up to see himself in the bathroom. The antigravity projector soon bursted free, scooping up the pile of slime into his humanoid form.
"Huh, bathroom? Not expecting to be lead here." He replied before he heard growling and froze when he glanced and saw two security dogs growling and barking at him, "You've got to be kidding me."
The dogs soon rush at him which Goop uses to his advantage. He leaps over them as they collide with the wall. He soon uses his projector which glides him over to the bathroom door and closes it behind him immediately.
He looks around cautiously, "Alright, which way to the office?" He soon heard footsteps approaching, "Time to disappear." He soon dropped into a pile of goo and slighered across the floor as two security guards walked by, "If they're coming from over there, means the office should be close."
The Polymorph traveled through the hallway till he found a door with the name plate office on it. He gazed around before melting the doorknob off. The door creaked open, with large computer moniters at the end of the room. He gaze to his left to find a couch and a coffee table. Sitting infront of the moniters was a desk. His projector scooped him up into his humanoid form before he slinked himself closer to the controls.
He gazed through the moniters, before finding his team on the last screen, he could see Gwen, Hope, and Max standing infront of a laser grid. Max was waving his arms and then pointing to the security grid infront of the safe, "Gotta shut down those lasers, and make my way down there." He gazed at the control panel before seeing a big red button, "Push? Ya'know in situations like these, something always goes wrong when pushing a big red button." Goop contemplated on just pushing the button and running like hell incase something did happen.
"Oh, what's the worst thing that could happen." He pushed the button when everything inside the building shut down, "Huh, must be the Tennyson Luck." He snickered, but before Goop had shut down the security systems, a group of armored men were making there way to the basement.
Goop gazed at the vent to the far right of the office and could hear footsteps approaching quickly. He slithered over to the vent, melted it so his projector could fit before, diving inside. When the doors soon bursted open with four security guards, holding batons and stun guns.
Down in the basement, the retired plumber and the two witches gazed away from the camera, "Hope, Ben was able to shut down the systems." Gwen snickered at his comment before elbowing Hope who rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"Very funny, Gwen." Hope remarked.
"It's very funny." She laughed when a something dropped from the vents getting the trios attention.
They looked at each other curiously, before walking to the vent when green slime started leaking from it, they backed up when the projector soared from the vent and scooped the Polymorph into his humanoid form.
"I'm back." He squeaked happily.
"No time for that Ben, get the safe open." Max said impatiently.
Goop raised an internal eyebrow before making his way forward, "Okay, I guess?" The Polymorph slammed his hand onto his badge and was engulfed in an emerald light.
Goop's body started resembling a dark red and black large crab. His hands turned into pincers with white bands wrapped around them. He grew six crab like legs with a large head that opened up to reveal his large brain. On both shoulders were two metallic circular bolts. Under his large emerald eyes were two smaller eyes with a large mouth revealing his teeth. On his body was a grey waistband with the Omnitrix badge reappearing there, "BRAINSTORM!" The Cerebrocrustacean exclaimed.
The Cerebrocrustacean inspected the vault heavily before grinning like a madman, "Ohh, a Securifort 3648-B Insulated Vault. My, my, whoever was guarding this mask didn't have any intentions on letting it leave easily."
"You know what safe it is?" Hope asked abit in shock.
"Indeed, it was manufactured in Canada, weight's approximately; 1010.000000. The code is three digits while also being fire resistant." BrainStorm informed, but it wasn't flying with older Tennyson.
"Can you open it or not." He demanded sternly shocking the trio by his sudden demand.
BrainStorm gazed at his cousin and friend before regaining his composure, "Of course, no silly little safe is a match against my brain power." He grinned before he placed his clawed hand onto the combo dialed lock.
Max watched as the Cerebrocrustacean closed his eyes and started spinning the dial repeatedly in different directions while mumbling to himself. Hope leaned over to her friend before whispering in her ear, "Is your grandpa, okay?"
Gwen didn't answer back, she had noticed how demanding he was of Ben and he didn't fight him on it either. He was definitely impatient too, which was something new to them, "I don't know, he seems more stricter than usual."
"I noticed, is he usually like this?" Hope asked as Gwen noticed BrainStorm had gotten the first two codes before quickly working on the third.
"Not that I know of." She answered.
"EUREKA!" BrainStorm shouted before they heard the hissing of the safe door open. Inside the door was the mask with a light hovering above it.
Max went wide eyed at the mask before stepping forward and taking it into his hands, "Finally, after all these years I'll be able to find the sword."
The trio shared a look with each other before they heard footsteps echoing out inside the basement. They then stared as the footsteps got closer and closer before Max spoke up, "Ben, did you see anyone on the moniters when you shut down the systems?"
"Not that I can think of." The Cerebrocrustacean answered when the unexpected company entered the basement. The group of heroes looked in curiosity at the armored men.
They seemed to be knights considering there grey and silver armor, but the man infront of them was wearing armor different from his coharts. He wore a gold-colored mask. On this mask is a grey-blue pointed crown, and the rest of his head is covered by a hood. On his chest he wears a burgundy surcoat with the symbol of the Forever Knights and a grey belt. His arms and legs are completely covered by armor.
"You guys know them?" Hope asked which flew over the Tennyson family, having never seen these guys before.
The man in the gold mask gazed at them individually before his sights landed on the large crab standing to the left of the older man holding his target, "YOU!" He snarled in anger.
Gwen, Hope, and Max's gazes shifted towards BrainStorm who looked extremely perplexed, "Me?" He replied impishly.
"If I wasn't here for that mask, I'd gut you like the seaplatter you are!" He snarled angrily. His hand itching to the sword strapped to his waist.
"BrainStorm, how do you know these guys?" Gwen asked suspiciously.
"Your guess is as good as mine." BrainStorm replied.
"You don't remember what you did to us, you overgrown crab?" He glared as BrainStorm shrugged in response, "Let me rejog your memory then. It was almost two months ago, our base was attacked, by a large crab, a plant monster, a crystallized person, and a brown dinosaur!"
BrainStorm, Max, and Gwen's eyes widened in shock, but Hope was extremely lost, "You attacked there base?"
"I was hoping to get revenge for the humiliation, I suffered at the hands of your defeat, but it seems fate has other plans." The golden masked man recited.
"First off, whoever you are-" BrainStorm started till he interrupted him.
"My name is Enoch of the Forever Knights!" He revealed, "And you can save your excuses, I'll be leaving with that mask!"
"Over my dead body." Max glared.
"That can be arranged." Enoch chuckled before he grabbed a grappling hook and shot it towards the mask and yanked it from his grasp. The mask flew briefly into the hair before Enoch caught it, "Kill them."
The knights behind him raised their weapons at them and immediately opened fire. Gwen and Hope raised there hands to up as pink and purple mana shields covered the group. The red lasers hit the shields repeatedly when Gwen gazed over to the Cerebrocrustacean.
"Anytime now!" She yelled and he immediately nodded before scaling the wall behind him, "Hope, leave the shield to me, go help Ben." Hope was abit hesitant when she noticed Brainstorm's electrokinesis rupture from his large brain and hit one of the knights. Enoch had rushed up the stairs with the mask in hand.
Hope rushed from behind the shield and blasted one of the knights in his chest with stream of mana. The knights soon changed from firing at Gwen to firing at Hope and Brainstorm. Gwen smirked as she then blasted one of them in the chest. Max soon storms the stairs after his grandkid plus Hope take out Enoch's guards.
"Grandpa!" Gwen yelled as he soon reached the top of the stairs.
"Seems to be in a rush." Hope replied as they soon rushed after him. Up ahead was Max, chasing after Enoch who was getting away with the mask.
Max gazed behind him to see Gwen, Hope, and Brainstorm, "One of you, slow him down." He ordered as Gwen raised her hand and shot out a mana shield blocking Enoch from escaping.
Enoch immediately hit the breaks before realizing he wasn't leaving with the mask, "Hey Enoch!" Max called out as a fist flew straight into the golden armored knight knocking him off his feet. The three teenagers soon caught up to them when a blaring sound caught there attention. They look to see BrainStorm's badge flashing red and soon enough in a blinding red light he reverted back to normal.
Max picked the mask up and gestured from them to come on. They didn't even bother to ask anything in because Max wasn't planning on answering. They soon jumped into the RV, before taking off in a hurry. The three teenagers glanced at the gloating retired plumber before looking at each other.
"Is it just me or is grandpa different?" Ben whispered.
"It's not just you, he's been very demanding recently." Hope answered.
"And very impatient." Gwen added, "Is it just me or does it seem like grandpa cares more about this mission than he does us?"
"I'm getting those vibes too, Gwen. It's becoming more than a mission."
"What do you mean, Ben?" Hope asked.
"To him, it's becoming personal. You never let personal feelings jeopardize the mission or else your not only putting yourself at risk, but everyone around you is at risk."
"And it feels like it's close to happening." Gwen finished
"Max, wouldn't put us at risk over this stupid sword, would he?" Hope asked unsurely.
"I don't think we can answer that, Hope, but honestly I hope it doesn't come to that." Ben answers grimly before the group felt a slight tremor shake the RV. The teenagers shake a look of confusion when the tremor resumes, slamming repeatedly into the Rust Bucket.
"What's going on?" Ben questioned as the three walked into the back of the motorhome and opened the back window when seeing a black limousine, rear the front of the car into the Rust Buckets bumper.
"Uh, grandpa, we have company." Gwen issued which caused Max to gaze into his rearview mirror to see the limo slam into them again.
Max said nothing as he pushed down on the accelerator and sent the motorhome speeding forward, but the limo driver wasn't having it. They immediately sped up as they came driving up the left side. Max glanced as four knights came from the sunroof of the limo and launched onto the roof of the Rust Bucket.
Max swerved a hard right causing one to fall into the street behind the two vehicles. Ben, Gwen, and Hope raced towards the front when a spark appeared on the roof of the Rust Bucket, "Grandpa, there storming the RV!" Ben yelled which caused Max to slam hard on the brake.
The knight on the roof rocketed forward into the street before them, the limo went racing forward before noticing the RV stopping abruptly. The teenagers were launched off there feet into a pile of limbs. The trio groaned in pain.
Ben was on the bottom, Hope was ontop of him, with Gwen lying ontop of Hope's back. Hope was rubbing her back when she opened her eyes to find the alien hero's face centimeters apart from her own. She could feel his breath tickle her nose, a faint blush crept onto her cheeks after she realized how close there faces were. She could also see how embarrassed Ben was because he immediately turned away from her, his face turning red.
Gwen had pulled Hope and Ben onto there feet before glaring at Max, "Alittle warning could be appreciated."
"No time for that." He retorted before slamming his foot onto the accelerator sending the motorhome rocketing forward. The teenagers were knocked off there feet once again at the sudden motion.
Gwen landed face first into the floor with Hope falling ontop of her, and with Ben landing ontop of Hope. The trio groaned in pain at the second attempt of a dog pile. Ben tried to realize where he landed when he felt something soft?
'Soft? That can't be right?' He squeezed it again, 'It is soft. And squishy too.' He was trying to understand what this feeling was when Hope shrieked in embarrassment and suddenly before Ben even realized his position a large purple mana hand materialized and slammed into his face sending the sixteen year old blundering towards the back of the RV.
He crashed into Gwen and Hopes shared bunk, groaning in pain. He groggily looked up to see Hope's face was glaring daggers at him with a horrified blush across her face. Ben tried to squint harder to see her covering up something. He rubbed his eyes to see her hands splattered across her chest. His eyes widened in realization before looking at his hand and making a squeezing gesture with his hand, 'Oh, that's what that was.'
"I'm sorry about that, Hope." He apologized, but her glare intensified making Ben's back shiver in fear. Knowing this action was gonna be something Hope would leer against him.
Gwen soon helped her fellow sorceress to her feet, "Ben, you okay?" She asked her cousin who nodded before making his way over to them.
"Again, alittle warning next time would be appreciated, grandpa." Ben remarked angrily, but Max wasn't listening. He quickly turned the RV, into its aerodynamic mode and rams straight into the limo.
"This is getting out of hand." Hope replies alittle scared when three forever knights climb out of the limo's sunroof.
"I'm kinda afraid to ask, but what are they doing?" Ben retorts when they have grappling guns in hand.
"There coming for this stupid mask." Gwen gestures throwing her hands up exasperatedly.
The three knights fire there hooks onto the roof of the RV, which causes Max to glare at them darkly. He swerves to lose the hooks when the limo jumps infront of them. Max tries the other way, but the limo soon mirrors him. The three knights begin climbing up onto the roof.
Max looks at the three teenagers, "Get rid of the intruders, I'll try and get rid of the limo!" He yelled, before any of them could retort or give a simple answer the door to the RV was flung open and sparks on the roof soon resumed.
"God, I wanna kill whoever found this masks location." Ben mumbled before scrolling through the Omnitrix's playlist.
"You and me both." Gwen retorted. When a black rope dangled infront of the open door and soon two of the knights bounded down and into the RV. When the a circular part of the RV came tumbling to the ground. And one of the knights dropped in from below.
Ben snickered at his cousin's joke before landing on SpiderMonkey's hologram, "Maybe having two additional limbs should even the odds." He slammed his hand onto the faceplate becoming engulfed in an emerald light.
Ben's arms started twisting into a various vines shooting up his arm. His body elongated into a large plant, when his both legs splintered off into three sets of thorn vined like legs. On his back eight black pods appeared. On his shoulders and forearms were blue eyes with leaves litering his forearms. His head was entrapped between a flytrap with rows of teeth running down the sides. On his face was a large blue eye with a black patch on his chin resembling a small beard. He had four sharp fingers ready to tear something to pieces. The Omnitrix badge appeared in the middle of his viney chest, "SPIDERMONK-" He stopped when he didn't hear the Arachnichimp's high pitched voice, he gazed down to see various tendrilled legs and his flytrap head, "Aw man, I said SpiderMonkey not WildVine!" The Florauna sighed in annoyance, "Stupid watch."
Gwen and Hope stood by his side, there hands glowing in the ethereal glow of mana. The three knights were astounded to see such a thing. The boy had transformed into a large plant like monster. WildVine grabbed two black pods from his back before he threw them at the knights which soon exploded. The knights backed up in confusion when two streams of mana shot outwards and knocked them out the open door.
WildVine jumped through the dustcloud and punched the armored knight then quickly headbutted him before picking him up over his head and tossing him out the open door.
When the large plant alien caught sight of the sign nearby, "Mexico? Grandpa, why are we in Mexico?!" Max never replied as the trio again looked at each other.
As they try to outrace the limo a truck comes into there line of sight, "Grandpa." Gwen warns.
"Hold on!" He shouts before activating the rocket thrusters which makes a great chance for the truck and the RV to collide. Max avoids the truck but scratches the side of it. Realizing that Enoch is behind them, he releases tire spikes to slow them down.
The limo soon collides with the road spikes as Enoch glares darkly at the retreating motorhome, "It's not over." He mutters.
A few miles out, the RV starts sputtering. The group get out the RV and open the hood to see the engine smoking. Max sighs in annoyance before he starts getting to work on repairing the engine.
"Gwen, pass me the socket wrench." Max asks holding out his hand for the red head.
Gwen looks over the tools before handing him the wrench. He looks at it before coming out from underneath the RV with a look of anger on his face, "I said socket wrench, not regular wrench." The sorceress in training was taken back by his outburst before grabbing the correct tool for him.
Ben and Hope came out the RV with the mask, with Gwen walking over to him, "Ben, can you take over helping grandpa fix the RV?" She asked abit angrily.
"It's that bad, huh?" Hope asks curiously.
"GWENDOLYN, COME BRING ME THE SCREWDRIVER!" Max yells which causes the girl to flinch at the tone in his voice.
"Please, trade with me." Gwen asks her cousin.
"Sure." Ben was making his way towards grandpa when he gazed at the mask, inspecting it heavily. He tilted his head in confusion before lifting it up to his face when the sockets lit up.
"Ben, what are you doing?!" Max glared as he saw the flash of emerald from above. Max went eye wide when he saw his grandson wearing the mask and soon a hologram was revealed. Hope and Gwen soon gathered around to see what was happening.
"Is that what I think it is?" Gwen asked suspiciously.
"Its a map to Ek Chuaj." Max replies in a stern voice, "No time to lose, Ben, turn into either JetRay or XLR8 we need to move, now!"
Ben soon takes off the mask, "I can only carry two people, so someone is gonna have to wait here." Gwen, Max, and Hope trade looks before nodding.
"It's okay, Ben, take your family first. I'll wait here." Hope answers.
Ben looked at her, his face held no signs of humor, "You sure, Hope?"
"Yeah, don't think anyone would wanna cross me." She chuckled as he nodded.
He soon activated the Omnitrix and started scrolling through his playlist before landing on XLR8, "Please, give me, XLR8." He whispered before slamming his hand onto the faceplate becoming engulfed in an emerald light.
Ben's face and skin was turned a dark blue with black racing stripes around his emerald eyes and fanged mouth. His head extended outwards by six feet becoming wrapped in an armored cone helmet. His attire was morphed into a black and white sleeveless jumpsuit. The collar around his neck was white, he gained black shoulderpads attached to his lean shoulders. On his elbows were extended sharpened bones. On his hands were three long black claws. His legs were armorfied as both of his clawed feet stood on two circular black orbs. On his back he had two blue dorsel fins, with three smaller ones racing onto his black tail which had five blue stripes. His visor soon slid over his face, the visor like the rest of his head was black, but there was blue screen that could see his shining emerald eyes. The Omnitrix badge appeared in the middle of his armored chest, "XLR8!" The Kineceleran exclaimed, "Yes!"
He wrapped his arms around Max and Gwen's waist before turning to gaze at Hope, "I'll be back as fast as I can." Hope smiles before nodding when his visor slides down before speeding off in a streak of black and blue. Hope sighs before walking into the RV and closing the door behind her.
XLR8 is running straight through Mexico when he soon arrives into a jungle when Max's voice echoes out into his ears, "Faster Ben!" The Kineceleran grits his teeth before trying to run faster getting closer to the temple. When he suddenly hits the breaks coming to the edge of the jungle, when a temple appears in his line of sight.
XLR8 places Gwen and Max onto there feet, "I'll be back." He soon runs off at blinding speeds. Max and Gwen gaze at the temple to see the Forever Knights already there.
"How'd they beat us here?" Gwen asked.
"They probably already had the location before us." Max answers.
XLR8 sped out the jungle and made his way back to the parked RV, they had left behind. He raced as fast as he could before coming to an abrupt stop infront of the RV. His visor slid upwards before zipping towards the door and knocked, "Hey Hope." The door swung open as Hope had a smile on her face, "Ready to go?" She nodded leaping into his arms.
His visor slid over his face before he whispered into her ear, "Hold on tight." With that the two are gone in a streak of blue and black. It was another five minutes before XLR8 entered the jungle again before coming to the edge of the jungle where the temple was at.
He placed Hope onto her feet next to Max and Gwen, "What'd we miss?" The Kineceleran's visor slid upwards to catch Enoch and the Forever Knights trying to enter the temple.
"Let's look for another way inside." Max replies before the group went deeper into the jungle before going around the side.
"Try putting the mask on again, maybe it'll reveal a secret entrance." Hope answers.
"Good idea, Hope." Gwen replies as she puts the mask on and gazes around the side of the temple to reveal a hidden door.
"How do we open it?" XLR8 asks curiously before they see a glowing brick and Max walks over to it and pushes it. The hidden door opens as Max takes the mask from Gwen.
XLR8 slams his clawed hand onto his badge before reverting back to normal in an emerald green light. Hope and Gwen shrug before following after him. Ben rubs the back of his neck anxiously before following after them.
After entering the Temple, it was completely dark, "Gwen, Hope, got anything to brighten up the Temple?" The two sorceress's lift up there hands as pink and purple mana engulf the darkness lighting up the room.
"Let's move." Max orders before walking deeper into th. Temple, with the three teenagers following behind him. Ben sighs before stepping on a cinder block and soon enough the path next to them caves in on itself.
Ben widens his eyes in fear before losing his balance, Gwen, Hope, and Max take notice before the two sorceress race over to grab his shirt before he plummets to his death, "You alright Ben?" Gwen asks.
The alien hero doesn't look at her, but at hie grandpa who didn't even bat an eye if he were to fall, "Yeah, just peachy." He grumbles angrily before walking after Max.
"This isn't gonna be good." Gwen mumbles which makes Hope agree.
"Alittle heads up on the traps would be nice." Ben remarks loudly, but Max is ignoring them. Which angers Ben to a degree where he wants to dangle his grandfather over a ledge.
Gwen and Hope can see the tension building and it wasn't gonna be pretty. After reaching an empass, Gwen accidentally steps on another trapped block which caves in both paths with large boulders.
"Which way do we go?" Hope asks.
"Left." He mutters, grabbing his grappling hook and swinging across.
"Oh so now he can hear us." Ben glares at his back, "Would either of you be so kind as to make a path for us."
Hope nods before thrusting her hand forward and created a purple bridge created from her mana. The three teenagers soon rush across the bridge to see Max already far ahead.
"I swear, I'm about this close from dropping him off a ledge." Ben glares.
"If you don't do it, I will." Gwen agrees. Hope sighs at the two's remark before running after Max.
The group come to a large door with a socket inside of it, where the mask is supposed to go, "The sword is supposed to be on the other side of this room." Max mutters.
Unbeknownst to them, Enoch and his group of Knights soon sneak up on them. A lance is placed under Gwen's throat. A sword is also placed under Hope's throat, while Ben had multiple guns digging into his back. With Enoch walking infront of the group with his sword drawn and pointed into Max's back.
"It's a shame, you won't be seeing it tho." Enoch replies sending Max on guard, but he looks over to see the teenagers on there knees with there hands behind there heads, "Surrender the mask or I'll kill them. Your choice."
Max turns around holding the mask out for him to take, "Good choice." He retorts when two knights step forward and hook his arms behind his back dragging him away.
Gwen and Hope look at Ben who has a relaxed look on his face, "Ben, aren't you gonna do something?" Gwen whispers.
Ben glances over to his cousin, "No."
"Why not?" Hope asks, "He has us held hostage and is about to have the ultimate weapon in his possession."
"It's to teach grandpa Max a lesson. It's either the mission..." He begins before turning to face Enoch who places the mask into the socket, "Or us."
The door soon opens revealing a elongated hallway. Enoch nods his head to the surrounding knights who gather the teenagers and the old man, they journey in silence to a large pit.
"Welcome to the Pit of Doom." Enoch laughs maniacally.
"Abit on the nose, don't you think?" Ben retorts causing Gwen and Hope to giggle.
"You won't be laughing when you plummet to your deaths. And since you wanna have the last word you'll be first." Enoch pointed his sword at Ben's throat.
"Yippee." He replies sarcastically. He gazes to his friend, cousin, and grandpa before nodding his head towards them. He walked up to the pit when Enoch pushed him from behind.
"Whoops." Enoch muttered before hearing the boys screams of fear.
"BEN!" They shouted before Gwen and Hope were lined up and shoved in right after him.
"GWEN! HOPE!" Max screamed before he was soon lined up infront of the pit before being brutally shoved into it.
Enoch laughed evilly before gazing at his coharts, "Quickly, Hydra needs the sword. Let's move." The group of knights nod before following after Enoch.
Ben who was shoved into the pit screamed before activating the Omnitrix and slamming his hand onto the faceplate becoming engulfed in an emerald light.
Ben's skin started turning scaly and dark shade of brown. He grew till he was twelve feet tall, with a long tail swinging behind him. His teeth grew into fangs, he grew two large separate fangs on the side of his head, as he grew claws on the ends of his nubbed feet. He grew armor plating on his arms, shoulders, and chest, with silver spikes running from the top of his head down his back, some appeared on both his forearms, and two more appeared on the back of his legs. The green and black hourglass badge appeared on his armorfied chest, "HUMUNGOUSAUR!" The Vaxasaurian exclaimed angrily.
The Vaxasaurian threw his hands outwards catching himself onto the walls, slowing down his descent. He gazed upwards when Gwen and Hope came falling ontop of him, soon Max came falling next, but Humungousaur grabbed him with his tail.
"Nice going, Ben." Gwen smiled.
"Thanks for catching us." Hope smiles before kissing his head causing the Vaxasaurian to blush.
"It was not-nothing." He replies before climbing out the pit with them. As soon as his head pops out, Hope and Gwen jump off and plant there feet onto the floor. Humungousaur pulls himself out, with Max wrapped around his tail.
"Good job, Ben. Alright, let's get to that sword." Max replies, he rushes to get to the pyramid's shrine room when he notices the Vaxasaurian and the two sorceress's haven't moved an inch, "You three coming?"
"We've had enough!" Humungousaur bellowed loudly which stuns Max abit.
"Yeah, grandpa. Ever since you learned of the masks existence you've been blindly putting us at risk." Gwen adds.
"We can't go on anymore, if you're only using us to get to the sword, we're a team! We're not soldiers for you to order around." Hope yells.
"So what's more important us or that stupid sword." Humungousaur glares, "And if you say that sword, we're done."
Max listens to the three teenagers and starts remembering all the risks he was putting them through. He was just so caught up on acquiring the sword, he's been ordering them around like foot soldiers, one after another, "You're right, I have been ordering you guys around. I'm sorry for that. I was so caught up on getting this sword that I forgot you three were the ones who helped get me here. I'm sorry, Ben, Gwen, and Hope. You three mean more to me than that sword ever will."
Humungousaur, Gwen, and Hope looked at each other before they hugged Max tightly who laughed happily, "It's okay, grandpa." Gwen smiles.
"Yeah, we're a team. Always remember that." Humungousaur adds.
"Right. Let's finish this mission and go have some fun." Max smiles before the group comes rushing through the hall towards the shrine. Hope, Gwen, Max, and Humungousaur peek from the hall into the shrine and see various knights surrounding a large figure.
"Why does he look familiar?" Humungousaur grumbles.
"That's the Mayan God of Death and the Underworld, Ah Puch." Max answers the group gets a good look at him.
Ah Puch is large about the an inch or two taller than Humungousaur. He wears a mask on the upper part of his face and is toothless. He also wears what appeared to be a pair of circular earrings. His clothing consists of a blue ancient Maya garb with yellow lining and a blue loincloth. His bare left thigh, left wrist and knee are covered with linen bandages. He dons a gold bracelet on his right hand and a leg ring on his left foot. Attached to the hem of his sleeves are leaves of some sort. He has a pair of crimson eyes and moves on bare feet with small sharp nails. He has a very long tongue.
Gwen and Hope shivered when they saw his long tongue toss the knights away, "Gross." Hope replies.
"Why can't he be the God of happiness or something." Gwen mutters.
"He seems to be pounding on Enoch and his goons for us." Humungousaur points out as the Forever Knights are sent flying into walls and each other by the Mayan God.
"Ben, distract Ah Puch for us while we get the sword." Max asks.
"You want Ben to fight that thing?" Hope shivers as his long tongue shoots outwards.
"We don't have much of a choice." Gwen says as Humungousaur shrugs his shoulders.
"Don't worry, I'll be fine. Go, I'll distract him!" Humungousaur answers as the trio nods and races off to the side of the shrine.
Humungousaur comes into the room when Ah Puch caughts sight of the trio, "Hey! You long tongued having freak!" The Mayan God glances over to the Vaxasaurian, "Come and get some!" Ah Puch snarled before tackling the Vaxasaurian into the floor, cracking it. The two bounced from the ground into the wall.
Humungousaur slammed both his arms into the Mayan Gods back. Ah Puch slammed into the ground before punching the Vaxasaurian into the wall then tackling him through it. Humungousaur launched the ancient Deity over his head causing him to collide in the pillars. Humungousaur watched the God snarl before leaping off the pillars into the awaiting Vaxasaurian who uppercutted the Death God, but he soon recovered by slamming the heel of his foot into his jaw. Humungousaur glared as he went racing towards him and threw another punch which the Mayan God dodge before uppercutting the alien dinosaur.
Humungousaur wobbled back, rubbing his jaw, "Gotta admit, you sure do pack a punch, but you're not stronger than me!" The Vaxasaurian roared which in turn caused Ah Puch to roar in return. The two soon clashed again, but Humungousaur grabbed the God by his waist and went racing into the wall on the far left.
With Ah Puch distracted Enoch, soon went racing up the pyramid to see Max, Gwen, and Hope, "You're still alive!" He glares.
"I could say the same to you too, Enoch." Max retorts when Gwen and Hope notice his coharts getting to there feet.
"Grandpa." Gwen warns as Max notices the three of them are surrounded.
"There's no escaping death." He chuckles before the temple starts shaking violently the group turned around to see the Vaxasaurian and the Mayan God of Death duking it out.
With Enoch distracted, Max reaches for his belt and pulls out a small gun and blasts the golden masked knights sword out of his hand. Enoch glares at the retired plumber, "Kill them!" He orders as the group of knights advance on them only to knocked off the pyramid by Gwen and Hope's mana.
Humungousaur went flying into the wall with Ah Puch landing ontop of him. The Mayan God launched punch after punch, before grabbing the Vaxasaurian by his neck and launching him through the wall into the hall. He crashed into multiple pillars before catching sight of the blurry gray figure heading towards him. Humungousaur picked up one of the pillars before slamming it at the ancient Deity, but the God lifted up his arms, blocking the pillar before then shattering it with his fists. The Deity launched his long tongue around his arm making Humungousaur shiver in disgust. The Mayan God pulled him in tightly before delivering a punch into the Vaxasaurian's face.
Humungousaur looked around to see Ah Puch making his way to the shrine and gritted his teeth. He picked himself off the ground before yelling at the Deity, "Hey rock puke!" He roared, Ah Puch glanced behind him to see the Vaxasaurian on his feet, "I'm not done with you." He gritted his teeth in anger before his armor grew denser, stegosaurus plates grew from the top of his head running down his back. He grew till he was also sixty feet tall.
He towered over the Mayan God, "Round two starts now!" He roared before slamming both his large arms ontop of the Death God. The temple shook violently gaining everyone's attention. He raised his fists over his head and slammed them downwards again before launching fist after fist into the Mayan God. With everyone watching the Vaxasaurian clobber Ah Puch, Enoch grabbed the handle of the sword and pulled it out.
Max went wide eyed in fear, "No! Enoch, stop! You don't know what you're doing!"
Enoch laughs evilly holding the sword above his head when Humungousaur glares at him, "With this sword, ALL WILL KNOW THE FOREVER KNIGHTS AND HYD-" He was soon cut off when Ah Puch's body was launched into the knight.
The sword drops down the pyramid landing at Humungousaur's feet. His badge starts flashing red and soon in a red light he reverts back to normal. Ben had bruises litering his face, "Piece of cake." He mutters before dropping to the ground and passing out.
Gwen and Hope's eyes widen in fear, "BEN!" The two girls soon rush down the steps of the pyramid to the downed hero. They flip him onto his back and Gwen places her head on his chest.
"Is he okay?" Hope asks.
"Yeah, he's just passed out." Gwen replies as Hope sighs in relief. Max soon makes his was down the pyramid to the duo holding Ben's body.
"Ben okay?" Max asks.
The two nod in confirmation which makes Max sigh in relief when Enoch sees the Tennyson family and the sword and makes his way to it. He barrel rolls and scoops the sword up and laughs again, "FINALLY! The Ultimate Weapon is Mine!"
Max stood infront of the trio defiantly, "I won't let you hurt my family!" He yelled, but it fell on deaf ears when Enoch pointed his sword at the Tennyson family.
"Don't worry, you'll be joining them in oblivion." Enoch laughed amusedly before the sword in his hand turned to dust. Enoch, Max, Gwen, and Hope went wide eyed as the sword just crumbled into dust, "No! Nonononononono! NO!" Enoch shouted as he picked up the dust in disbelief.
Max started laughing heartily, "Seems after five thousand years your ultimate weapon is nothing, but dust." Max mocks which causes the temple to shake, "Grab Ben, let's get outta here." The girls nod before picking up the unconscious hero and dragging him out the temple with Max on there trail.
After the Tennyson Family make it out the temple, Ben soon wakes up, "Where am I?" He asks groggily.
"Outside the temple." Gwen answers.
"What happened to the sword?" Ben asks
"Seems the weapon they were after turned to dust." Hope answers after.
"Well now that, that is over, how about the dung beetle stew?" Max smiles as the teenagers mentally vomit.
"How are gonna get back to the RV?" Gwen asks she gazes over to Ben who glances at the Omnitrix, but it made a strange noise.
"No use, the Omnitrix is on a strange recharge mode." Ben answers when Hope sees a black helicopter and soon points it out.
"What about that?"
"That'll work." Max smirks as he makes his way towards the helicopter.
"Your grandpa knows how to fly a helicopter?" Hope asks.
"Hope, there's alot of things you need to learn." Gwen laughs as Ben agrees. The Tennyson family soon climb into the helicopter and fly off.
Inside a secret underground headquarters, a black gloved hand places a white landline back on its hook, "It seems Enoch has failed to obtain the sword of Ek Chuaj." The voice grumbles in annoyance.
"Seems so, means Enoch can't be trusted to succeed." Another voice agrees.
"Let's not be hasty, gentleman, but it appears he ran into trouble obtaining the sword." A Third voice answers.
The screen behind them soon turns on revealing four pictures, one of an older man in a plumber suit, the next is a sixteen year old red haired girl, the third is a silver haired woman, and the last is the one that catches the two men's attention. It was a boy in a green jacket wielding a strange device.
"Who are they?" The first Voice asks.
"That's the thing, Enoch never gave there names. He said an old man, two witches, and a shape shifter." The third voice responds.
The second voice glances at the calculating eyes of the first voice, "What shall we do sir?" He asks.
The first voice doesn't respond before shooting up from his seat, "Get me everything you have on them all, even the device the boy is using! It'll be useful in further developing our defenses when going up against S.H.I.E.L.D."
"Sir!" The second voice replied as he saluted to dig up information on them.
"Malick." The first voice replied stopping the man now known as Gideon Malick.
"Don't disappoint me." He glared which Malick nodded firmly.
"Never General Schmidt." Malick saluted, "Hail Hydra!" He soon went to take care of his task on acquiring information on the group.
"Seems the mightly Red Skull, has his sights set on the boy." The third voice chuckled as Schmidt scoffed.
"I couldn't give a shit about the boy! The device the boy is wielding is what i want!" Red Skull aka Johann Schmidt exclaimed, "And it would appear that you shouldn't fail me, like your little pet Enoch, Sir George."
The third man known as George glared at him, "We in the Forever Knights would never fail again. Consider this a little set back."
"A setback? Maybe try harder than! Nothing is gonna get in my way from dominating this world. HYDRA WILL WIN!" Johann laughed evilly.
