Cordula having a dine out with her father was one thing, but bringing along her rambunctious cousin whose face was more or less planted on the Gameboy on his hands made her want to vent at something.

The atmosphere between the three became awkward. Well, awkward for Cordula, Rambo was more into his game than what Cordula and Joe Davis were busy conversing.

All of a sudden, the unmistakable roar of Godzilla travelled through Cordula's ears, and her gaze swerved to the window that showcased outside with the heavy rain pouring in. People were running and yelling as a large foot stepped on a busy street with Godzilla's roar still ringing in her ears.

"You guys stay here!" Cordula shouted as she stood up and made a mad dash outside in the pelting rain. "Wait up cuz! I need to see this!" Rambo shouted, already forgetting his Gameboy after hearing that roar. Joe pulled him back by the scruff of his neck.

"Now, now, young man. You heard what she said" Joe said as he pulled Rambo further in the diner.

Cordula followed after the roar through the heavy rain and spotted a large tail around the corner. She followed after it and turned to the shortest path as the roar got closer and closer to her.

Rounding another turn, she was prepared to face Godzilla till suddenly...

Nothing.

The roar stopped. Cordula blinked when she saw nothing on the streets. She looked around and back tracked her tracks and found out that the creature had just...disappeared.

"What...?"

Cordula checked the surroundings again before heading back to the dinner where her father and cousin were waiting.

She was met with Rambo running into her, his eyes excited. Cordula suddenly realized how reckless she had been in pursuing the Mutant.

"Where did you go? Did you see the creature's face? It sounded like Godzilla, the monster that's been ravaging the entire tri-state area." Cordula glanced at her father with a pleading look on her face.

"Come on Rambo my boy, you know Godzilla doesn't necessarily attack buildings" Rambo shook his head "Nuh huh, I've seen him on the news, he's been attacking everywhere" Cordula blinked "What news?"

Rambo crossed his arms "Well while you were off meeting with your groupmates for a "college project" I happened to have been watching some cool footage of Godzilla rampaging."

Joe sighed. "You know you can't just trust whatever those things on the big screen show ya." Cordula grasped Rambo by the shoulders. "Rambo, how long has this been going?" Rambo wanted to deny answering, but suddenly seeing the manic look on Cordula's face made him think otherwise.

"About a few days ago, close to a week."

By morning, Cordula skipped school with an excuse for rest after a traumatic event by Godzilla's sudden attack (though the excuse made her feel guilty for using the big guy) and sped off to H.E.A.T headquarters.

By the time she had arrived on headquarters, Nick and Major Hicks were already discussing the recent attacks. "Major, with all due respect, how can we be sure the creature on this tape is Godzilla?" Nick said as a playback from yesterday's attack with Godzilla's roar sounding on her ears.

"Oh, that certainly sounds like him" Mendel said Elsie paused the tape to take a look at the image "Identical bone structure in the metatarsus and the distal phalanx-" Elsie commented before Randy cut her off.

"Distal Phalanx, my foot. The G-man doesn't go Wilding for no reason, " Randy said, totally not believing that the footage there is Godzilla. "Which is why we'll stay on top of it. Whatever this creature is" Nick said seriously.

"Thanks for bringing us up to speed, Major. If we find any new information, we'll contact you immediately. " Nick began but was cut off by Hicks "It's a little more complicated than that Nick. The higher-ups want me to take a proactive stance. I've been ordered to reassemble the scientific team that helped us with the first Godzilla" Hicks explained.

"Don't tell me you're going too..." Cordula trailed off, but everyone got the message clearly. "Why do we need to hang with the army? We can study the big guy just fine on our own" Randy said.

"First, you were never part of that scientific team. Second, we won't be doing any study, my orders are to destroy Godzilla"

The second Hicks said those words. The entire team let out stunned noises

"Really?"

"You're kidding!?"

"You can't do that!" Cordula shouted the last before a soldier suddenly grabbed her soldier "I'm sorry young lady but I may have to escort you home" And that brought out more surprised protests from the team "I'm sorry Nick but the government found out about her and decided to remove her from this team before something...unexpected happens" Cordula wanted to protest but was silent by Hick's stern stare "It's not negotiable young lady. From the start, you weren't even supposed to be in the team" Cordula wanted to argue, but then she froze. In all the adventures she tackles with the H.E.A.T team not once did they send her off, immediately accepting her as part of the group but in government terms, she wasn't in on the team and what she had been doing could be a case of illegal trespassing on private property.

Seeing the devastated look on her face Hicks sighed "Sorry Ms. Davis but word always gets out" She nodded and moved to follow the soldier before her shoulder was grasped by Nick. She turned to stare at him and he gave her a reassuring look. Randy made a move forward. "Tell him what he can do with his orders, and the chica looks and acts old enough to make her own decisions." Randy said.

Nick thought for a moment before he asked "When do we start Major?" Randy and Cordula gaped at him in shock "Report at 22:00 hours" Was all Hicks said before the soldiers closed the doors.

"Are you nuts, jefe?" Randy asked as soon as the soldiers were gone "How else do we prove Godzilla hasn't been going postal?" Nick replied. "Our boy might not be so innocent Nicky, he's been out all night" Elsie said as she showed them the camera of what looked to be obvious signs of a certain lizard absent from home.

Rambo had a feeling his cousin was hiding something from him. Not the kind wherein that cousin of his was just hiding some girly secret. It has to be big. Otherwise, those soldiers escorting her home had to be well played actors filming a military scene.

Cordula had locked herself in her room, only letting Joe come in when she wanted too. It felt like her life had gone back before she met Godzilla. Back when she was just some ordinary girl who would one day be swallowed up and be part of the crowd.

"Oh sweetheart don't feel so down. I'm sure your friends will do whatever they can to reinstate you back to the team. You guys are practically more than that anyways" Joe said reassuringly but Cordula's mind was elsewhere. While she had been despairing over the thought that she might not see the team again, unless its on TV or maybe Audrey would let her in on her exclusives on the team, she thought of the sudden disappearing act.

Even if Godzilla did manage to hide himself from her sight because of the fo, which limited her vision, she would still be able to make out his silhouette. She thought for awhile before gritting her teeth and planting her face in the pillow before letting out muffled, frustrated noises.

"Oh...somebody seems to have some boy problems" Rambo's annoying voice sounded off which did not alleviate Cordula's ire. "Not now brat I'm not in the mood" Rambo rolled his eyes and scoffed. She was always not in the mood when it comes to him but then he remembered the sudden surprise escort of soldiers and his grin turned devious.

"Say cuz, you never mentioned me you were familiar with someone in the army" Cordula puller her head out of the pillow and gave Rambo a suspicious look "What?" Rambo snorted at her actions "I can't believe all it took was mentioning someone from the military for you to snap out of whatever mood's been plaguing you" Cordula stared at her cousin before plopping her head back to the pillow "Why exactly are you here?" Rambo shrugged his shoulders before showing her a photo of a lizard with a prehensile tail, large eyes and brightly colored body.

"Is this animal sick? I can't see clearly with this picture close to my face!" Cordula shouted as she snatched the photo and looked at it with slight distance. "It's my friend's Chameleon. He always wanted to have one, and once he finally does he sent me a photo to brag. Why can't we have a live pet instead of dead fishes?" Rambo asked with a pout and a slight whine.

If you KNEW what was swimming below, I doubt he would appreciate being called a pet.

Cordula glared at Rambo slightly before she frowned at the picture, and a thought passed through her brain. "Wait, don't chameleons change their colorto blend in?" Cordula asked out loud.

Rambo looked at her in confusion "Yeah, I thought you knew that already considering where your course is..." Rambo said with his arms crossed but was suddenly startled when Cordula abruptly sat up and glared down at the photo as if it held the answers she had been looking.

"What is up with that look on your face? You're gonna tear a hole in that picture" Rambo said as he moved to take the picture away but yelped when Cordula suddenly knelt on the bed and shouted.

"I GOT IT!"

She grinned before she got off her bed and made a mad dash to the door. She headed to the main door only to be met by security. Frozen, she slammed the door back shut and locked it "I forgot security was there" Cordula mumbled, loud enough for Rambo (Who followed her downstairs) to yell out "What do you mean 'You forgot they were there?'" Rambo growled.

"What could be something so important that you would forget your escorts are still there?" His question went unanswered as Cordula marched up to the back door and peeked through the window. Sure enough, there were some soldiers patrolling the area.

Damn, this is really too much just to escort me home. Are they planning to place me under house arrest until this whole thing blows over?!.

Cordula turned on the tv and saw reporters flocking some soldiers patrolling the area and were met by hostility as they were escorted out of the premises. "I can help you get outta here, but you'll have to bring me along with you" Rambo suddenly suggested. Cordula gazed at the boy whom she knew had thetendency to run off where the chaos would start.

"Absolutely...NOT"

Rambo crossed his arm and turned away "Fine then, have fun trying to sneak your way out" Cordula felt her eye twitch as Rambo slowly walked away from her. It took only a few seconds before Cordula called out "Ok Wait." Rambo secretly fist bumped the air as Cordula looked at him like he was something she really wanted throw out to the trash.

"What exactly do you have in mind?"

Nick and the gang blinked when the spot Godzilla was supposed to show turned up empty.

"I think we'd see Godzilla if you were ten feet away" Nick said as they continued to stare at the scene in bafflement. Mendel looked back down on his mini computer to see the exact spot flashing "Maybe you should get that thing an overhaul" Hicks replied, only to stop when a T-Rex roar resounded in their ears.

And it sounded close.

The poor helicopter suddenly found itself spinning wildly out of control as the pilots screamed and desperately tried to avoid the tall buildings as the helicopter tilted dangerously before landing roughly on the ground alit with fire.

The two pilots quickly made their escape before the fallen copter exploded. Nick and the others soon found themselves facing to what appeared to be a monster roughly on the same size and body shape of Godzilla except this monster's skin colour was like the green of something akin to a decomposing body.

It's head, if you could even call it a head, was composed of three different appendages with claws/teeth at the end of each. It looked like it could be used to grapple with other monsters. It also has a mouth on its chest, eye-like organs on its shoulders, and lower jaw.

Overall it looked like a monster that jumped out of a horror movie and was now roaming the streets.

"Down!(3x)" Nick cried out when the creature moved to attack. The creature lowered its head to the tanks and soldiers shooting at it as of to observe before it changed its attention to an unfortunate N.I.G.E.L who wheeled itself to its sides all the while stating in a robotic tone "Pheromonal Source: Changing Direction"

Mendel gaped at it "It must be some sort of Chameleon!" He cried out before turning around to run away along with the others as the creature approached them.

Cordula almost wished to head back home when Rambo suggested the most ridiculous plan ever. It was even more ridiculous that the soldiers barely glanced at him when he wheeled a cart loaded with foul smelling fish, with her buried underneath, passed them.

It's probably because they couldn't stand the stench. I doubt anyone with a right mind would suddenly want to bury themselves in fish smell.

Cordula thought as she and Rambo made their way through the empty streets. "Strange, I don't see anyone here. Even soldiers" Rambo stated out loud as Cordula started shushing him.

Froma distance, they both heard the sounds of gunfire and the obvious roar of a monster. "Something's going on over there!" Rambo cried out as he ran ahead of Cordula who shouted out his name. "Rambo!, get back here!" Cordula raced after him and they both stumbled upon Nick and the others running away from what appeared to be a decomposing monster.

"Look out!" Cordula cried as she caught up to Rambo and pulled him back when a blue car came sailing through and landed in front of them. Rambo and Cordula crouched down while Nick and the others stood straight in front of them to stare at the creature as it let out a T-Rex roar and swung its tail to some pillars, bringing the structure down.

"Go!(3x)" Nick cried, grabbing Cordula by the hand and hauling her up while Rambo scrambled to follow after Mendel who shouted, "What is a kid doing here?!" Rambo looked at him with a pout "I'm not a kid! I'm a 4th grader!"

"Still a kid, you little brat. Now, shut up and run!"

There was a sudden robotic scream and Mendel sharply turn to cry out "N.I.G.E.L!" as the robot flickered one last time before dying. "We really should install some defense systems on that thing!" Cordula shouted as Nick ran back to grab Mendel by the shoulders and pull him to run.

The gang ran in between two tall buildings just as the soldiers and tanks continued firing at the monster. With bated breath, the gang watched as the monster ran past them.

Once cleared, Rambo turned to Cordula with an awed look on his face "You work with them cuz? This is awesome!" Cordula felt a tick as she replied back. "Yes, and I appreciate it very much if you don't say a word about this to anyone" Her dark look made Rambo think for a moment before nodding.

"I'll just have to come up with more excuses to visit you and uncle Joe from now on"

Cordula groaned as Elsie looked at her with amusement. "I guess being nosey runs in the family for you." Cordula glared at her as the gang got out in between the two buildings once soldiers moved past them.

One tank moved ahead as one soldier popped out to look around, probably wondering where the creature went. The creature materialised right above the tank as the soldier quickly got out before the creature threw the tank, causing it to explode.

Everyone ducked as debris flew everywhere. Nick looked up and saw the soldier was about to be crushed by the creature's foot when it jerked unnaturally, and its foot stayed above the soldier. Nick used that extra time to grab the soldier out of the way before the creature harshly stomped on the ground.

Cordula blinked as she watched the scene with confusion. "That thing moved like a robot just now." Nick took note of what Rambo just said. "Erratic, almost robotic movement. Where have we seen that before." Nick said, tone going dark before running towards a random soldier to borrow his binoculars.

As Nick searched, he spotted almost immediately the transmitter stuck on the creature before he quickly informed Major Hicks of the new discovery.

"It's just like the neural implant transmitter Cameron Winter used to manipulate Godzilla"

Nick said. Elsie looked at them in confusion, "Winter? I thought he was still in prison?" Nick held a sour look on his face. "Try six month probation" Nick replied. "If it's a transmitter. Then, N.I.G.E.L can trace the source" Mendel said, coming up to them with a broken N.I.G.E.L right behind him. The poor robot made a sound before its head came off with wires hanging on.

"As soon as I get him back online. " Mendel said sheepishly. "We don't gave time to waste. Wee have to contact Randy and Monique and meet up back in - Hey!" Cordula screamed when she felt something clamp around her middle, and she suddenly started flying up off the ground.

"CORDULA!" Nick and the others cried out as the creature materialised again in front of them. "Hold your fire! Its got a hostage!" Hicks shouted to his men as the firing stopped.

"Let go of my cousin!" Rambo shouted. "Don't play hero you brat!" Cordula shouted back just as the creature abruptly turned and ran away. Taking Cordula with it. "Hey let me go! Cameron! I know that transmitter thingy has a camera on otherwise how could you control this thing without knowing where it is! Once I get out of here, you'll be getting a beat down!" Cordula shouted through the monster's roars.

While chaos reigned from above, Godzilla slept deeply in his cave for a long while. Right beside the sleeping Kaiju lay a small portion of what used to be a big pile of fish.

Godzilla moved when he heard the unmistakable cry for help. A familiar echo of his own roar that made him forcefully open his eyes.

His pack needs him.

Despite the creature's firm grip, Cordula gripped tightly to the point her hands turned slightly white. She was also holding back her stomach from being tossed around so much.

The sound of whirling helicopters reached her ears as the monster roared before jumping into the bay.

Now where is it going?!

Cordula blinked when she saw the Golden Gate Bridge. She suddenly feared for the Bridge is one of the known landmarks that was close to Godzilla's lair.

Monique's mind was in utter chaos. On one hand, she trusted her friends and their judgement. On the other, Felipe was her mentor and had great respect for the man.

Once Godzilla resurfaced, she tried to convince Felipe to stop the operation to no avail as she was made to keep the port steady to give him a clear shot. Monique walked back and eyed the locked door that shut Randy in.

Without hesitation, she had unlocked the door.

Traitor

Her mind whispered harshly, yet the look on the gang's faces appeared on her mind, squashing the harsh whispers of traitor ringing inside her.

Confusion was the first thing that entered Godzilla's mind once he noticed how quiet the surface was. This was soon followed by an unusual feel of sleepiness as Godzilla fought to keep his eyes open.

Something shot and landed in the water right beside him. He lethargically turned to see the familiar boat and moved closer to see some of his pack seeming to fight off an intruder.

He wondered where his father and female are.

"Godzilla!" A familiar cry coupled with the familiar scent of his female made Godzilla turn away from the boat to the direction her voice was to see her standing close to eye level.

???

"Cordula? How are you flying, chica?" Randy shouted in confusion with Monique on top of him, having been thrown off by Felipe.

"I AM NOT!" Was the only thing Cordula shouted before the creature materialised right in front of Godzilla and let out a roar.

Seeing his female actually in the clutches of another made some of his sleepiness fade away as Godzilla roared and quickly engage the creature in combat.

"Be careful big guy!" Cordula shouted before she was once again tossed around as the creature's arms moved. It was to her horror that she was being used as a meat shield to stop Godzilla from firing his Atomic Breath most of the time.

Thee frustrated Godzilla fired at the water as a half moon circle of fire surrounded them. He growled and charged at the creature and tried to wrench Cordula out, but the creature always moved her away.

Back in the boat. Three people got themselves wet in the scuffle between Godzilla and the Chameleon "Felipe are you mad?! Get inside!" Monique said, trying to pull Felipe away.

"I need one clear shot" Felipe replies, holding the Canon on his shoulders. "At which creature?" Monique asked. "Ain't it obvious? Aim it at the thing that's holding chica hostage!" Randy shouted.

"Big Guy!" Cordula cried out when Godzilla was thrown off and knocked unconscious. The creature jerked and now was on its way to the boat.

"Run!" Cordula shouted as the boat quickly turned and maneuver away from the creature who only seemed to follow it.

"Oh Nicky whatever your doing now. Please hurry up! I can't take this anymore and neither does my stomach!"

Rambo watched the epic battle between monsters from a bird's eye view in the helicopter. Mendel was on the radio contact with Nick trying to tell him on where this Cameron Winter is located.

Also, they couldn't contact their other teammates down there on the boat.

"What about my cousin? She's still under that thing's clutches!" Rambo said, grasping Mendel's lab coat. Mendel turned to the boy and reassured him that she'll be fine.

"Besides, I doubt Godzilla will let anything happen to her based on previous experiences." Rambo merely raised an eye brow at this statement.

"Eugh!"

Screw her dignity. Cordula couldn't handle it anymore and released the contents inside her stomach as she turned pale and dizzy.

"I think I'm gonna lay off staying off the ground for a few weeks." Cordula grumbled as she fell limp in the creature's hand.

Godzilla roared once he saw his female fall limp and remained unmoving. Tossing aside any instinct of safety despite his weakened state, he charged straight ahead and managed to chomp down hard on the arm holding Cordula hostage.

The Chameleon roared as he released Cordula just as something hit its side. Godzilla dove after Cordula and managed to catch her before she hit the water. Seeing the sickly, pale state she was in brought out a small whine from Godzilla as he turned to the H.E.A.T seeker and lowered his head.

"Cordula!" Randy shouted as he ran in front of Felipe who took a step back as Godzilla drew near. Randy opened his arms to received the semi unconscious girl as she groaned before opening her eyes "Randy?..." Cordula blinked as he vision swam.

"I'm seeing two..." Monique's blurry firm entered her field of vision "Monique...? Where's Godzilla?"

"He's fine chica. Look, he's worried about you." Blinking, Cordula turned to see a huge head looking down at her with a worried coo coming out.

"I'm okay big guy. Thanks for the rescue" Cordula smiled as Godzilla stood on his full height and roared in triumph before returning to the sea. Confident his female with make a full recovery with his pack looking out for her.

"Okay chica, just rest now. You've earned it after that roller coaster of a monster ride." Randy said but Cordula never replied as sweet darkness entered her vision and all went black.

Once Cordula was safe and secured and properly resting in the H.E.A.T seekers bunkers. Randy and Monique drove the seeker back to headquarters where the others were to capture Cameron Winter once they got wind of Nick.

Once they arrived, the only thing they saw was an explosion and a small form of a human hitting the water. "I'll get the lights!" Monique said as she activated the seeker's search lights for Nick.

It took them a few minutes to locate him once Nick resurfaced away from the blast.

"There he is!" Monique shouted as Randy pulled in the buoy "Yo jefe, what's up?" Randy asked as he threw the buoy towards Nicl who immediately grabbed it before replying with a nonchalant tone.

"Oh you know, same old, same old"

Cordula woke up to light shaking and was greeted by the sight of Rambo looking down at her.

"You okay cuz?" At the sound of his concerned tone, Cordula blinked. "I'm I dead or am I dreaming and this is my nightmare? You never act this concerned?" At her tone, Rambo grinned. "Good ta see you back alive cuz. You know, I may have stayed away from the fight this time but next time, I'm gonna be a part of it someday. Once I make up another excuse to see you and Uncle Joe."

Cordula groaned before her eyes landed to her teammates who were holding back laughs or smiles. "Mendel, don't suppose you have some sort of neurological memory wipe?" Mendel blinked.

"Unfortunately, I don't have that sort of technology made at the moment"

Seeing Rambo grin widen, Cordula groaned. Oh, she, her father and this annoying brat are gonna have a long talk once they were safely back on dry land.

And probably after I have something to eat. My stomach's rumbling.
