Teen Titans; Severing Old Bonds – Sibling Rivalries

Chapter 2: London Calling
/
Oohing and Ahhing resumed once around the base, but now that the headmistress had totaled the Titans fortress in the great city of London England…. Even Robin had to wonder if his trusting Slade before was why they were stuck fighting Rose – or the supposed puppeteer who might be "guiding" her down this destructive path.
Why wouldn't Slade lose his lead on her? She was brainwashed, not loyal. But still…
Dick was glad that Slade wasn't here to push Richard into a pointless fist fight with the mercenary. As if this were something the Titans had expected, however hard a pill it was to swallow.
That Slade was going to show, and that they'd not here the end of his verbal abuse once Rose was back at his compound.
She had a choice, yet Slade was possessive and brutal with his tactics of keeping a long leash…As if Rose's fate was not her doing.
But someone that was –
"Earth to Robin!" BB waved aa parrot wing to the Titans' leader as Cy shook his head right beside the green hero.
Slade could wait. They had to regroup first. Find who'd not been taken by the HIVE'S forces.
"Robin?" Starfire put a hand onto his shoulder, gently nudging as Dick came out of his little world of terrible conspiracies that ran deep.
"Sorry, everyone…Just trying to figure out what's happening."
"We are all very concerned for our fellow comrades, globally." Starfire replied to the comment, with a nod. "With our forces now not as before, we must decide what the best course of action might be in stopping this 'knapping" of our fellow Titans."
"In case Rose's helping handy – enemy or whatever, decides to shoot more missiles at us." Grumbled Bb, while Raven just rubbed her temples.
"I know that Psimon can do, that…but my magic failed. Could this be someone from another universe?" She asked the team. "A Justice League villain, maybe?"
"I can very well understand that your plight is tragic, indeed and truly my heart goes out to our allying Titans." Argent tried to be sympathetic to her friends' and their needs. "Yet we have some new recruits who helped to throw back the intruders; they'll be in the lo…lobby…maybe they'll know how to go about this…" She sighed. "Or whatever's left of the bloody room…"
/
Dragging their boots, tails, winged backs and capes behind them, step by step the room had widened out. An even stranger phenomenon was that the rooms didn't look destroyed at all.
Grumbling to herself, Argent must have dreaded the sight of this place as her eyes not only stayed on the carpet, yet the room she'd claimed was destroyed was far from.
Raven saw a shimmer and immediately understood.
All, illusion magic. There was something here oozing that sort of potential as she picked up on the cues that Argent was trying to throw their way.
"Jenny Sparks and The Forth Man are their names at least, how we call them. Thing is, just to be clear…Forth is…not very, nice." Another door was opened as Argent rose to meet the faces of two teens about a year or so older than herself. They sat by the light of a study room's fireplace and were similar in height. One had a white soon and snowy short white ha as he sat to sip a cup of tea, and the other was a blonde with a steampunk fashion sense.
She could not tell if they'd been talking to one another in private or if this was expected…
"There you lot are! Am I supposed to do everything while the city is burning outside your window?" She stomped her foot as Jenny only grinned with a nervous laugh.
"Ah, so…were you going to tell us more about these two?" Dick asked as Argent tried her best not to seem uptight in "their" presence.
"These. Are our honorary Titans of the U.K; Elijah Snow and…Jenny Sparks."
"Oy! You invited in the yanks from down the lane??" Jenny snickered and didn't know that these heroes had a reputation since she and Snow were new to the heroing, thing.
"At least we got here before your tower got…oh, wait…" BB groaned and tried to re do his sentence.
"At least, we came all the way from the U -S of A to help!" He puffed out his chest as Raven and the others slapped their faces.
"Sorry, we just think we could work with your Titans here to stop a criminal who's –
"I know." Snow took to his tea cup and lifted it from its saucer carefully.
"Your light tan and disposition indicate…that you came from a sunny climate and the bags under your eyes, indicate…" Smirked the boy detective in white, "That you know who our culprit is from behind the curtain…"
"We know her, but we want to try and prove this person's innocence!" Starfire interrupted as Dick tried to minimize how much of a burn that had been to his ego.
~I think you can understand; the one responsible was not in control of her actions and I sense a dangerous force is at work trying to play us all as the fools! ~ Joey explained in his sign language as best he could.
"This is Jericho, by the way –
"He's an ESP user…by birth or…I see…you are concerned for the culprit I have in mind most of all." Snow sat up, his eyes bright and clearly intrigued by the events. "I marvel at how you'll even try to minimize the risk of aiding this criminal mind. So, tell me?" Snow leaned into his hands, fingers interlaced as he stared down poor Joey and his friends. "How well do you know this, person? Since that power was by birth, you must have an inkling or an imaginary reason for trying to keep them close…"
"Huh?" Cy and Gar both were confused, yet Raven came forward as the other psychokinetic made her very upset. "The one we are after was psychologically manipulated, trained to kill even when she just wanted to be one of us. The Titans' real enemy is the person using her influence since Jericho is connected to this person's mind and emotions." She stared at Snow, who just reflected, picking up his tea as it would have gotten colder by now…
Instead, his cup froze over.
In ice.
/
"Who! –
" Yah! He's a meta??"
"Figured you'd lose touch. Reality here is pointless." Raven frowned.
The snow-white haired teen just smiled at his company, but Jenny had seen this all before.
"Don't be such a wanker!" She hit him atop his head with her karate chop as sparks of electricity flung and shattered the porcelain feature into tiny bits across the study room rug.
"Damn it, ! I was –
"You lost control of your powers. Didn't it ever dawn on you, Eli?"
"Don't call me that!" The boy could have just been having a tantrum, yet Jenny seemed to know how to quite even a meta's stubborn upsets.
Maybe even Rose's. Dick wondered….
"You little twats should be a little more aware of whom you're speaking to. Are you forgetting that this isn't our tower, but your illusion, Snow?" Argent reprimanded the other, while he was just coming back up from casting storm – clouds metaphorically overhead.
"Yes, I know. It was so dreary and I needed to feel…more at home –
"As a Teen Titan traveling all over the world, we can't hide that this can happen to any of us." Cy drove his words of wisdom deep, hoping that the youth would overcome adversities such as shattering tea cups and started a second global ice age.
"Well…We could always make up and try again?" Jenn S nudged Snow as he groaned and snorted a defiant, "Fine."
Jen took that as reason enough to gather on.
And on…
"Ok! So, I'm Jenny. This is Elijah. We've been at the hip since day one as Twentieth Century Babies! It's as if this happened to the lucky – pair right here, before! See? Eli is actually new, yet I've super – heroed in this city for a few months. My power is Electricity, similar but I can do a lot more random tricks if I want to. Snow? He controls freezing matter, even people –
"I would never!" The boy jumped from his chair and gritted his fists as Jenny turned him to look towards the exit. "How cruel of you to say…I was just….a bit tired. This ability to manifest images isn't normally what I'd-
"Ha!" Jess Snorted and waved the little snot off. "I was just making your meta -power work beside mine. I used a projection machine enhanced by my special "charge" from my time line to make this tower look the part of a common room."
"Though you had to go and introduce, us…" Snorted the boy in white.
"Why is…I dunno why you're abandoning your team when they could be in real trouble. That's not ok." Cy wagged his finger and Jess sighed, glaring back at Eli who turned uber red with a huff.
"Because we still had to recharge." Jess spoke for both of them. "Using my power (adding this in!) helps to prevent a back flow of electricity that could harm my body. And snow – shoe hare here is trying to cool off as we speak."
"I'm. Calm." Seethed the detective teen. "Or, I was unt –
"I understand." Raven nodded to the boy, now getting why he'd created this hide away.
"You used visualization techniques to regain control of your powers."
"And Jenny got to use her abilities so she wouldn't end up doubly – charged." Richard added in, while Eli had to grant them a "very well done" with a clap of his hands.
"The former partner of the Batman and a Titan who understands what it requires to stay in line…. Well done!"
"No, you are better off facing the reality you're currently a part of, with us." Argent redirected the teams' attention to the only window that faced the real world. Their world.
"This is not a game, not a time table you can adjust to your liking. You can't stop it and we need you to help us find more members to face this threat before we're wiped out by the enemy's forces!"
