Chapter 1
2025 Star Gate Command
Discloser of the Star Gate and Atlantis were scheduled for the coming Monday. The task would fall on the shoulders of the original SG-1 team minus Teal'c who was off world tending to the needs of the Jaffa.
Retired General Samantha Carter, Retired General Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill and Dr. Daniel Jackson were brought together again in the old Star Gate Command one final time. They had gathered in Sam's old lab which now doubled as a storage room for artifacts that were being selected for the museum that was under construction. Wearing civilian clothing the trio stood speaking frankly amongst themselves. Jack's hair had now gone all white. He sported jeans and a flannel shirt with a tan jacket as he picked through the box of old relics before him on the table. Sam covered her white hair by dying it blonde. She wore jeans and a leather jacket over a white blouse as she gathered the list of artifacts to be sent to the new museum. Daniel assisted as well and had only a little gray in his brown hair. He grew a mustache which Sam was no fan of for it made him look like a throwback to the seventies. He sported a leather jacket over a white shirt and jeans as well.
"Can you believe that Monday is disclosure?" Sam sighed as she looked upon the faces of her loved ones.
"I can." Daniel stated. "It's long overdue."
Jack puffed out his cheeks, "The media is gonna hound us after that."
Daniel suggested, "You could always go stay with Teal'c. He offered to let us stay with him once disclosure was done."
Jack shook his head, "I don't want to bug T. I will just change my phone number and dodge the reporters by hiding at my cabin." He looked at Sam, "You take that offer?"
"I turned it down." she confessed.
"You could have had command of the new ship they are making." he reminded her.
"I think it's time I retired for good." she sighed. She seemed a bit down.
Daniel asked, "Something wrong, Sam?"
"No!" she shook her head. "Just wish Janet was here to see this along with my father and General Hammond."
Jack reminded her, "Cassie will be there."
"I know she will." she agreed. "Just so many sacrificed and it doesn't seem fair."
"Never is." Jack agreed. He then confessed. "I wish my son was here to see this. He would have loved it."
Sam nodded, "I imagine he would. I wish Thor was here to see it." She sniffed slightly as she buried her regret as the Asgard were lost.
Daniel stated, "Too bad Catherine never got justice. Her father found the Gate and he never did get the recognition he deserved."
"They will be recognized, Daniel." Jack assured. He dug into the box before him. He cocked his head and found a small black stone that was smooth to the touch. He brought it up to his face. "I don't remember seeing this before."
"Could have been found by another team, Jack." Daniel looked upon the stone along with Sam.
Suddenly the stone activated and a bright light flashed before the them. They immediately fell to the floor unconscious and stone still in Jack's hand.
1985
Sam Carter blinked as she suddenly came to. She recalled just moments ago she was in her old lab with Jack and Daniel as they were getting last minute preparations for disclosure. Now, she found herself in bed and in her old room from when she was a teenager. She sat up in bed and rubbed her face.
"What hit us?" she wondered aloud. She looked down at herself and found she was wearing a pink nightgown and early morning sun was shining through her window. She peeled back the covered and gathered herself as she stood up. She went to a mirror on her white dresser and looked upon her youthful face. She gasped, "What the hell?" She then figured, "The stone. Jack activated it and it did something."
A voice came from the hallway, "Get up, Sammy. I will drive you to your new school."
Sam paused for it sounded like her mother. She went to the door and opened it and spied her mother walking down the hall and rapped on Mark's room.
"Get up, Mark. Time for school." she hollered through the door.
Sam's blue eyes looked upon her mother. She was young and had blonde hair and blue eyes. She wore a flannel shirt with jeans as she woke her children for school. Sam could not speak at first. She just looked upon her mother as tears of joy swelled in her eyes.
Her mother, Debbie turned to Sam on her way down the hallway. She mentioned as she walked by, "Get dressed, Sammy! You don't want to be late on your first day."
She chocked as she trembled. "Just…"
Her mother paused, "What is it? You sick?"
"No," she shook her head. "I just want you to know how much I love you, Mom." she then wrapped her arms around her mother and held her tight for a moment.
She gently patted Sam's shoulder. "I love you too, honey. Now get ready for school." She shook her head as she walked back to the kitchen unsure what had come over her daughter.
Mark emerged from his bedroom. Sam laid eyes on him and he too was a teenager. "Hey nerd." he mocked her. He had dark hair and blue eyes and a thick line of fuzz on his upper lip.
"Mark." she smiled and watched as he walked by dressed in a tee shirt and jeans with sneakers. He looked as if he slept in his clothes and he indeed had.
Sam ducked back into her room and went to her closet. She dug out her clothing. She held the blouse up, "Damn, I wore this blouse all time when I was a kid. It's ugly!" she winced as her taste had changed over the years. She dug through the closet looking for clothes more to her current taste. She found a flannel, a leather jacket and jeans and a pair of sneakers. She figured she might as well be comfortable if she had to go to school.
Meanwhile
Daniel blinked as he adjusted his eyes after bright flash of light. He found himself standing in a large room and his parents were standing before him with plans to erect a museum display. He rubbed his eyes and then looked down at the pullover twill shirt and blue jeans he sported and sneakers. He recognized the display. It's the display that would kill his parents. He called, "Mom! Dad!"
Melvin and Clair Jackson looked up from their work. "Danny?" his father asked for he hear the strain in the teenager's voice.
"That rig will not hold. Double check it, Dad." he insisted.
"I'll double check it." he assured him.
"You and mom and are going to be crushed to death." he warned.
Clair stated, "What are you talking about, honey?"
"Listen to me." he pleaded. "I saw this before. The pulley fails and that stone is going to fall on both of you." he warned them.
"I'll get maintenance." Melvin stated concerned for not only their safety but Daniel's mental health as well.
"Thank you." Daniel nearly cried. He then figured, "That stone activated and it did something."
Claire asked, "What stone? What are you talking about, Danny?"
"Nothing." he smiled figuring he was somehow given a chance to save his parents and he wasn't going to throw that chance away.
Meanwhile
Jack O'Neill blinked and rubbed his eyes. He found he was sitting in a ready room filled with pilots. He looked down at himself and found he was sporting a green flight suit. He looked about the room and the other men sitting along with him. Before them was a Major with light brown hair. He wore blue dress and was giving a debriefing.
"Orders are if you see this chopper you stay away from it." the Major stated.
"Chopper?' Jack asked a bit bewildered.
"Captain O'Neill?" the Major asked.
"Captain?" Jack asked for he had not been a captain since the 1980's.
"Captain O'Neill?" The Major repeated. "Did you want to add something?"
He then recalled the stone and how it activated. He quickly figured the stone had done something to him but it would be best to lay low until he could figure out what happened. "Um…no!" he pinched his lips tight.
"Alright then." the Major continued. "The chopper is some top secret project the C.I.A. has going. We do not get involved."
Captain Charles Kawalsky sat beside Jack and raised his hand, "Major."
Jack looked over wide eyed at his deceased friend.
"What about the man in the red suit?" he asked. "What do we do if see him?"
Jack squinted unsure what his friend was even referring to.
"We do not engage." the Major stated.
"Any idea who is behind it?" Kawalsky asked.
The Major replied, "We have no idea."
The pilots in the room started to chat about the man in the red suit.
Jack sat wondering what they were talking about for he did not remember any man in a red suit in any briefings.
Kawalsky looked to Jack, "I tell ya, if we come across that red suit guy, we're getting a vector on him."
Jack asked, "What red suit guy?"
"The one in the papers. The guy flying around like superman." he smirked.
Jack sat confused. "Um…"
"I say it's aliens." Kawalsky added.
"Aliens?" asked Jack. "Which ones?'
Kawalsky laughed, "Good one, Jack."
The Major stated, "Settle down. I know the U.F.O. sightings are off the charts. If you have a sighting, go through proper channels. Now, today's flight plan…" the Major continued to lay out the plan for the Air Force fighter pilots.
Meanwhile
Sam slid into the passenger's seat of the car. Her brother Mark had retrieved the morning newspapers and then climbed into the back. The boy cheered, "Hey! The red suit man made the papers again. Check it out." he handed the paper to Sam and his mother.
Debbie glanced down at the paper. She remarked, "Someday your dad will tell us what is going on with that. I'm sure it's some top secret project."
Sam's eyes fell on the story before her along with the photo that was taken from a commercial airplane of a man in a red suit with a black cape flying through the air. She squinted, "I don't remember anything about a man in a red suit flying through the air."
Mark gave a look, "What? You are collecting the newspaper articles."
Debbie assured, "If anyone can figure that mystery out it's you, honey."
"How long has this man been flying around in a red suit like some super hero?" she wondered for it seemed bizarre to her.
"A year and a half now." Mark told her. "You okay, Sam? You seem a little out of it."
"I'm fine." she assured as she had no recollection of a man in a red suit flying through the sky like superman.
Mark grinned, "He's a real life superman! Busting criminals. I wonder who it is?" he asked himself.
Debbie miffed, "Probably some pilot in skunk works."
"I don't think he's a pilot, Mom. He crashes all the time." he told her. "I bet he lives in California. That's where most of the sightings happen."
Debbie shrugged, "Who knows. I'm sure you and your sister can put your minds together and figure it out though, Mark." She giggled to Sam, "You two can be the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew and figure out who the man in the red suit is."
"Lame!" Mark huffed.
His mother asked, "What's the matter with the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew?"
"It's so last decade, Mom." he told her. "It's the 80's. Get with the program." he told her.
She laughed, "Sorry I'm not cool, Mark."
Sam assured her, "You will always be cool to me, Mom."
She blushed, "Thank you, Sammy."
