What If: Nexus won at Summerslam '10

Summerslam was a huge night for Nexus, a plethora of young up and coming WWE superstars in the biggest match of their life. Facing against 6 of the biggest names in the company, also R-Truth, along with their former colleague Daniel Bryan. Wade Barrett, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, David Otunga, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, and Michael Tarver all were close to victory.

The final 2 members of Nexus were Wade and Justin, only John Cena remain of Team WWE. Wade Barrett had pulled the mat at ringside, revealing the concrete below.

DDT on John Cena on the concrete, Wade Barrett was gonna destroy Cena in this match. The leader of the Nexus picked up John Cena and hauled him into the ring, he would go for the pin now. But he remembered who he and Justin were facing, the most annoyingly resilient man in the entire company.

Wade picked up John in a fireman's carry, slamming him down with Wasteland. Wade rolled through and hit Cena with a second Wasteland, the leader rolled through again. Tagging in Gabriel and smirked at the camera while his partner climbed up to the top rope, "Long. Live. The Nexus."

Wasteland again, Wade held down Cena's arms as Justin stood tall on the southeast turnbuckle. 450 splash to the prone John Cena.

Justin hooks the leg.

The bell rings, the crowd was stunned. Wade Barrett had his evil smirked as the Nexus theme played as he patted Justin's shoulder, the young aerial specialist celebrating pinning the Face that Runs the Place.

"We did it!" Justin excitedly laughed, "We actually won!"

The ref held up Wade's and Justin's hand as half the crowd booed because the bad guys won, and half cheered because Cena was pinned clean. The rest of the Nexus came back down the ramp and congratulated the final two Nexus guys as Cena sat at ringside, looking up sulking at the sight of the seven guys who ran roughshod over the company. All doing their pose as the feed came to a close.

After that, their momentum kept strong. Each member had gotten more confident and better in the ring as the weeks went on, with Wade beating Cena at Hell in a Cell to force him into the Nexus. Not only bringing him and two new members, but also Husky Harris (Soon to be known as Bray Wyatt) and Michael McGillicutty (future Curtis Axel) into their ranks to replace Tarver and Sheffield after they were suspended for wellness policy violations.

Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater won tag team gold from John Cena and David Otunga after the latter beat The Dashing Ones (Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre) at the PPV the previous night.

And at Survivor Series, where if Barrett wins the WWE title from Randy Orton then Cena was free from the Nexus. If not, then John Cena would be fired from WWE.

Wade was angrily yelling at Cena for not counting after a Wasteland, "What do you think you're doing!?!?! Just count the 3, and you'll be out of our hair! Isn't that what you want? You know the alternative."

Cena pushed Wade into an RKO, Randy covers for the pin. Cena starts to count, deciding he'd rather be fired than let Wade have the world title.

Cena was then pulled out the ring before getting hurled into the ring post. Everyone gasped when they saw who it was...

... United States champion Daniel Bryan!?!?!?

Randy looked and wondered why he was out here, and stopping Cena. Randy got up as Daniel got on the apron, "What are- what the... you really helping this guy?!?!! After he kicked you out of-" Daniel headbutt a Randy before clocking him with the United States championship.

Wade recovered and saw this, before he quickly lifted up Orton and slammed him down with Wasteland before covering him as another referee came down to count.

The bell rings as Wade looked at Daniel who ran around the ring and grabbed the WWE title before sliding into the ring. The two former NXT rookies stared each other down before Daniel Bryan let out a chuckle and handed Wade the world title "All according to plan."

Wade smirked "You son of a gun." He took the title before he and Bryan shook hands and held up the WWE and US title to a stunned crowd, the rest of Nexus came out for the Nexus pose and to give Bryan the nexus arm band, with Justin and Heath holding up the WWE tag belts up next to Wade's WWE and Bryan's US titles.

With that Nexus holds nearly every piece of gold on the red brand, Cena was freed from Nexus but what good that does with Nexus more powerful than ever.

And then Miz cashed in money in the bank at TLC after Wade was attacked by Cena after he retained against Orton in a TLC match.

After that it's pretty much the same as canon WWE.
