"You, Me, and Cat Makes Three"
Jori fluff, Alternate take on "Tori Jade's Playdate". Cat has an idea for a different kind of date for her two closest friends.
AN: We've arrived at my OTP. I have enjoyed writing all of these pairings so far, but Jori is my favorite. I will have more Jori fics posted in the future, sometime after I'm caught up on prompts, but for now this is one to add to this collection. Enjoy!
Tori arrives at Nozu, and finds Cat at a table, waving to her. She sits next to her friend while the two of them order an iced green tea. Cat is smiling while happily dancing in her chair to the music playing in the restaurant.
"Hey Tori, where's Jade?"
"She's looking for a place to park." Tori said. "So, what is this dinner all about?"
"I'll tell you when Jade gets here."
Jade comes in the doorway, and Cat pops up upon seeing her.
"There she is. Hey Jade, over here!"
Jade walks over to the tabe, sharing a kiss with Tori before sitting down. The girls order their plate of sushi, while Jade orders a bowl of rice. She sits at the table, folding her hands, and looking to Cat for answers as to what they were all doing there.
"So what brings us all together tonight?" Jade asked.
"Well, it's an idea I had for a different kind of date for you two."
"A date that involves you?" Tori asked.
"Yeah, and I think you'll like this idea; It'll be fun." Cat said.
"So what is it?" Tori asked.
Cat takes a sip of her iced tea before explaining. "I pretend to be your baby!"
Tori and Jade look quizzically at each other, then back at Cat. Jade takes a bite of rice while trying to process what exactly Cat intended to do.
"I'm sorry, what?" Jade asked.
"Remember the time Sikowitz had you two play a married couple, and I was your baby? Well, we're all actors, and I thought it would be fun to try it in a restaurant."
"Okay, honing our acting skills is cool, but why one of Sikowitz's crazy acting exercises?" Jade asked.
"Because, I think you two would make great parents someday, and I thought why not get all the practice you can now."
Tori smiled at her friend, laying a hand on her arm, and Jade shut her eyes while trying to hide her laugh. How they got roped into Cat's ideas they'll never know, but she has always been a good friend to them, and she really cares. Tori sat up with a smile, ready for how the rest of the evening would go.
"Sounds like it could be fun, I'm in. Jade?"
"Cat, we're not even close to having kids yet. We're still in highschool."
"Well, I know. I'm not saying you're gonna have kids tomorrow, but someday; maybe?"
"I don't know, maybe." Jade sighs. "Why do we have to practice this now?"
"Come on, Jade. It's one night, and Cat's really excited about it." Tori said.
Cat looks over to Jade with pleading eyes, batting her eyelashes.
"Pweese Momma?"
Jade huffs through her nose while shaking her head before relenting.
"Fine."
"Yeay!" Cat cheers, hugging Jade around her shoulders.
Jade continues to eat her rice, while a happy Cat shimmys her shoulders. Jade takes a sip of iced tea while looking over at Tori.
"Ya know, if you keep giving into her, it's just going to spoil her." Jade said, and Tori laughed.
Cat began her best baby imitation as she pulled her plate closer, and pretended to have trouble with the chopsticks. Tori picked them up for her, showing Cat the proper way to hold them.
"Here, let me help you."
"Thank you, Mommy."
Tori layed Cat's napkin out in her lap, and booped her nose which made Cat giggle. Jade eventually got into the playing along, reaching over to brush Cat's hair off her shoulders, and make sure their little darling was all set up and ready to eat. Cat ate quietly for the most part, occasionally dropping food off of her plate, and Jade was quick to help clean it up. Tori couldn't help but gaze lovingly at the two of them, and imagine what this would be like if the situation they were in were to someday be real. Tori knew Jade could be a little impatient, and not always project herself well, but she also knew that her girlfriend had a soft side that she only showed to those that were special to her. Tori kept eating her sushi, while admiring the sight before her, and Jade caught Tori starting, blushing as she looked away.
"Stop staring at me."
"Why? You guys are sweet." Tori said.
"What can I say? I learned from the best." Jade said, winking at Tori.
Tori smiled, taking Jade's hand from across the table.
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
Jade covered Cat's eyes as she leaned over the table to meet Tori in the middle for a kiss.
"What are you guys doing?" Cat asked.
"Nothing Honey, eat your food." Tori answered.
Soon their happy family time was interrupted by two guys who came over, intrigued by the lovely ladies out to eat. They came from either side, and the girls were immediately put off by them.
"Uh oh, what do we have here, Chad? A few gorgeous ladies all by their lonesome."
"We're not lonesome, trust me." Jade told them.
"Guys, we really want to be alone." Tori told them.
"We are alone. Just the five of us." Chad said.
The two guys reached across the table for a fist bump with an exclamation of 'Ba - Doink!', earning an 'Oh my God'. from the three of them. Chad wrapped an arm around Cat, who recoiled a bit when he came close to talk to her.
"How 'bout you, Red? Are you looking to have some more fun tonight?"
"Uhm no, not really. I'm having plenty of fun with my friends," Cat told him.
"Listen, Choad…" Jade said.
"Chad."
"Whatever. We're doing just fine on our own, so why don't you get lost."
"Hey, we don't mean any harm. We just want to get to know you ladies. Where do you go to school?"
"Hollywood Arts." Jade told them.
The guys were immediately hyped that these girls were performers, and wanted to see what skills they had. Since it was karaoke night at Nozu, the guys begged them for a song, and Tori and Jade agreed to oblige them, hoping they would then go away.
"Don't worry, Cat. We'll be right back." Tori said, as she and Jade made their way up to the stage.
Cat clapped her hands while the guys hopped up to the bar for a closer look, which Cat was thankful for. Tori and Jade put in their request, and the ladies were ready to sing the song "Take a Hint". The song started with the other patrons listening and enjoying the performance. They moved about the place, hoping these two guys could get the message, and know they weren't wanted once the song was over. Cat loved their song, and loved seeing these two duet together, especially since they've started dating. With every movement, every lyric, their emotions came out, and showed the love they had for one another, even if the song in this instance was for the purpose of telling these guys off. After their performance was over, Tori and Jade were met with a standing ovation, and the guys were nowhere in sight. They rejoined Cat at the table who was still clapping and cheering them on.
"That was amazing. You two are the best." Cat said, wrapping arm around both of them.
"Thanks, I think so too." Tori said, looking over to Jade while squeezing her arm.
Jade checks her phone, noting the time.
"It's getting late. Why don't we finish this night with a movie at Tori's house?"Jade suggested.
"What do you think, Cat?" Tori asked.
"I'm in."
Tori smiled, patting Cat on the head.
"Come on, Kiddo. Let's go home." Tori said, and they all head out.
They all got in Jade's car, and Cat was happy that her idea worked out better than expected. Aside from those guys approaching them, everyone had a great time tonight. On the drive home, Jade took Tori's hand, holding on tight, and Tori smiled back. Even though it would be a long ways away, Tori liked the idea of her and Jade someday having a child of their own. Of course there would be other steps and milestones along the way that would be scary, but as far as parenthood, at least for now, Tori felt confident that they could get through it together.
