Chapter 11: Sun Taimanin vs Hell Knight Ingrid.
Rinko would watch the fight between Yorrichi and Ingrid. The Hell Knight. Servant and guard of the Vampire Blood lord Edwin Black. The Soldiers of Nomad also watched the fight between Ingrid and the Sun Taimanin while also watching the Slasher Taimanin.
Both of their blades would exchange blows with one another causing minor shockwaves that echoed and spread throughout their duel.
(Ingrid's POV)
This gorgeous warrior before her. She never thought she'd fight someone so graceful. His swordsmanship is remarkable. Even on par with hers. She could feel the literal Sun enveloped around Yorrichi. It was as if she was facing the sun itself.
She would keep blocking his sword strikes. She would have to be careful knowing his sword could potentially strike her with the power of his sun like ability.
If only he would fight for Black-sama and become a loyal yet powerful ally. But he wishes to remain an ally of these Taimanins.
If only she could change his mind. But as he said. They literally have Nothing. He wants. Infact she doesn't know what he truly desires. Only to rid of the world of Demons so this world and earth can be at peace.
She doesn't want to kill him... She doesn't think she has it in her to do it... even if Black-sama ordered her too.
She would jump backwards avoiding his horizontal slash that almost had her waist.
"You're very good. I'm very impressed. I haven't enjoyed such a good duel in a long time." She would remark honestly with praise for his swordsmanship. If he had been born a demon like she is and with that kind of potential he currently has, he would have been one hell of a Hell Knight for Noble Demon.
"I suppose I can say the same to you. Ingrid-san." Yorrichi says in his stance focused on Ingrid.
"It doesn't have to be this way you know? Think of what you could do for Black-sama if you joined him. With you on our side the other Noble Demons fear for you will increase." Ingrid would say with a hint of persuasion in her voice hoping to sway him. On one hand while she is aware the other Noble Demons are Afraid of Yorrichi but she isn't exactly sure if Black-sama IS afraid of Yorrichi.
She wasn't one to question her Lord and master.
It's Unknown to her of how Black-sama truly feels towards Yorrichi.
Yorrichi for his part said nothing to her still focused as he would breath in total concentration.
Ingrid paid close attention is this one of those sun-like attacks he would produce?
(From a Far away distance)
Standing on top of a building would be Oboro. The traitor Taimanin as she would watch the fight between Ingrid and Yorrichi.
"Heh. Knew she would fail in persuading him to join us." She says very pleased that the sun taimanin won't be joining them since she views him as a threat to Black-sama.
Not that it matters because Edwin Black did state that if Yorrichi couldn't be brought over to their side then he can be destroyed. And she is going to make that a reality. But how?
She will make plans of her own to kill the sun taimanin once and for all.
( Back to the Fight)
Yorrichi breathed total concentration as sun like flames would exhale from his mouth.
Ingrid watched closely as she prepared herself.
"Sun Breathing: SunFlower Thrust!" Yorrichi utters as he performs a singular thrust utilizing the tip of their blade to strike at Ingrid.
Ingrid who saw this used her floating magic ability to use minor flight now in midair she glanced down at Yorrichi who faced her. She would dive directly down at him with her sword in hand delivering a heavy blow in which caused Yorrichi to block as the two eyed one another in a deadlock with their weapons. Both in a clash and struggle. As Yorrichi had gained the upper hand by using all his strength to push Ingrid back as she stepped back recovering Yorrichi charged forward with his sword covered in Sun like flames.
Ingrid would ignite her sword in dark hell-like flames and also charged forward as their blades exchanged blows she could feel the intensity of the sun's heat from his sword.
"How can one possess the power of the sun?" She thought moving back and avoided a sword slash from him.
Yorrichi studied Ingrid. She truly does make a fine swordswoman. She could possibly be on par with Rinko with her expertise in swordswoman ship. He eyed her posture. She seems very determined in capturing him and bringing him to her master. In which he refuses.
While she is a demon but he can sense conflict in her. He wondered.. Is she serving Edwin Black out of fear or could it be something else?
"Why do you serve him?" He asked her simply which caught her off guard. He's referring to her master?
"…….." Ingrid was silent for a moment facing him.
"What?" she replied
"Why do you serve him? To serve an evil twisted being like Edwin Black?" He asked with his sword up while she did not know how to respond to such question. She got a little annoyed at how he's insulting Black-sama with such disrespect.
"Why should I tell you? It's not your business!" she lunged forward delivering a burning slash in vertical strike but Yorrichi vanished in an afterimage using Fake Rainbow.
"An afterimage!?" She yelled in thought as she turned around and barely dodged his incoming sword slash that only sliced a good portion of her Cape burning it with his sun-like flames. She gripped her sword and did a double arc slash of dark crescent like flames at Yorrichi who breathed in total concentration again
"Sun Breathing: Raging sun!" Yorrichi would say unleashing two consecutive horizontal arcing slashes around themselves to strike incoming attacks as both of Ingrid's dark arc slashes failed in hitting Yorrichi. Yorrichi would breathe again.
"Sun Breathing: Solar Heat Haze!" He uttered rushing forth, now attempting to deliver a strike seemingly enveloped in a heat-haze, masking the true length and location of the blade to deliver an unexpected strike.
Ingrid was not prepared for this as her eyes widened feeling the searing burning pain rush throughout her body. She stumbled backwards clutching her wound that is on her torso and on her left shoulder having a very deep burning gash. She screamed
"IT BURNS! IT BURNS!!" She screamed mentally as she tried to heal herself but for some reason her healing regeneration won't heal her!.
"He did it!" Rinko would say surprised
"Ingrid-sama!" The Nomad Soldiers cried aiming their guns at Yorrichi
"NO! STAY OUT OF THIS! HE IS MINE!" She barked at them as she grimaced looking up at Yorrichi. Finally standing back up to ignore the burning pain she gripped her sword
"I guess I have no choice but to use it." She thought narrowing her eyes at Yorrichi who stared at her calmly.
Ingrid would began to use her Dragon Summon Buff! Using the power of Grenier", sealed within her. This makes her far stronger and covered in dark blue flames, which moves around her body and creates markings on her skin. However, Grenier eats away at her soul, so it can not be used too much.
Yorrichi would continue to stare at her. Not fazed by her transformation or terrifying power.
"Never thought I would resort to using this. But I will bring you to Black-sama whether you like it or not." She would say with slight venom in her tone.
Yorrichi would defiantly take a stance ready to face her.
Yukikaze, Tatsuro, Sango and her pet cat showed up
"Rinko-chan what's going on!?" Yukikaze asked as Rinko pointed to them seeing Yorrichi fight Ingrid. As she would explain to them of the situation.
"Come on Big Bro kick her ass!" Yukikaze called out to Yorrichi
Meanwhile from the far away distance Oboro was slightly surprised by seeing Ingrid using "that" hidden power of hers. The Traitor Taimanin continued to watch intrigued by this fight. On one hand she hopes that the Sun Taimanin Kills Ingrid. That way she can take Ingrid's spot as Black's most loyal subordinate. She and Fulst are always jealous of Ingrid's influence and position around Edwin Black.
But what happens should Ingrid succeed in capturing him? She wasn't sure. All she could do is just watch.
Ingrid at this point would be much faster and stronger as she would attempt to push Yorrichi back but the Sun Taimanin avoided and evaded each strike she would deliver. She would send large slashes of dark flames at him. In which he also evaded.
Yorrichi needed to plan something. He could tell that her strength has doubled.
"Come on. Yorrichi. Show me what you got!" Ingrid taunted at him pointing her sword at him.
"Be careful of what you wish for, Ingrid-san." He replied seeing the arrogance blind her. With this kind of power with her dark flames she would have made a Good Hashira with the ability of Dark Flame Breathing.
"Don't underestimate the power I possess!" She lunged at him with Speed and sent a front kick to his torso but before her foot could even touch him he vanished In instant as she looked to the side and saw him charging at her with his sword in hand ignited with solar flames. She blocked his strike as the two got into a clash of swings. Exchanging one blow after another. As the environment around them would begin to get hot suddenly. Due to Ingrid's dark flames around her body that generates heat. But where is this other heat source coming from?
Yorrichi himself was covered in a Sun-like aura and flames dancing around him and for a split second his eyes were transcendent colored white. He began to grow hotter minute by minute.
Both Warriors backed off from each other.
One stared at each other in silence as Ingrid prepared to end this with one strike.
Yorrichi was unknownly on fire at this point and that he was beaming with the power of the sun. As the very sun itself above them shines in reaction to this.
"We need to go someplace where it's cooler! The area is getting insanely hot! What's the temperature right now!?" Tatsuro says feeling sweaty and hot
"I don't know but it feels like the sun is right in front of us!" Yukikaze would say feeling hot herself
"Is this.. The extent of his power?" Rinko thought looking at Yorrichi who is still generating solar heat around himself.
(With Oboro)
She could feel the intense heat from where she is hiding at too. As she looked at Yorrichi in disbelief.
How in the hell can one person be the literal Sun Itself?!
How does he have so much power!?
It terrified her to face him herself if she ever crossed paths with him.
"He is truly not only a threat to Black-sama… but also to the Dark World..!" Oboro thought with gritted teeth as she kept watching the fight.
(Back at the fight)
Ingrid could feel the intense solar heat and raw power building in Yorrichi.
"If only you would fight for us.. Instead of against us." She thought mentally going to perform her final attack. He would have been an interesting Hell Knight or Noble Demon with such power. With his growing potential he could literally become the Demon King of Dark World with such power.
She would charge first at him. With all of her strength and power to deliver this attack upon him as waves of Dark flames followed behind her.
Yorrichi would steady himself and breathe.
"Sun Breathing: Beneficent Radiance!" He uttered spirals into the air whilst performing a swirling slash upwards to strike Ingrid as Solar Flames followed behind him.
Both went pass each other in silence.
Yorrichi turned around looking at Ingrid.
Ingrid herself stood there in shock. As she dropped her sword. Feeling another burning slash upon her body. She fell on both knees…
Eyes widened… as her hands were covered in her own blood… from clutching another strike he left on her body.. She feels her power fading.
"I…lost…."
Rinko and the others cheered seeing Yorrichi win the fight. Now all he has to do is finish her.
"Guess… I should have expected this.. My own arrogance would be my downfall…" She thought now falling flat on the ground as she watched Yorrichi step closer to her with his sword in hand.
She looked up to him. This must be it…
"Go on… finish me…" She says closing her eyes ready to accept her fate.
"Forgive me Black-sama… forgive me, Dolores…" She thought with her eyes still closed waiting for the Sun Taimanin to claim her life.
Yorrichi stood in silence looking down at Ingrid. Debating whether should he end her? Or not…
Everyone watched. Waiting to see what Yorrichi will do.
Just as he raises his sword. The next thing he would do. Would throw everyone off.
He sheathed his sword.
Everyone gasped seeing this. Ingrid snapped opened her eyes and looked up to him in shock. He's not killing her!? Why!?
"What are you doing? Aren't you supposed to kill me?" she questioned him.
Yorrichi was silent. His instincts.. Tell him that she is just a misguided soul and that she doesn't have to die.
"Why are you-" She tried to say but he cut her off.
"You do not need to die. You are just a misguided soul Ingrid-san. I enjoyed the duel we had. I hope we can fight like this again. But I will warn you this: Beware of Black. For all I know that inspite of everything you done for him. Eventually he'll betray you. You may not believe me. But my instincts tell me this could be true." He told her as she just stares at him in shock he would walk away as her Soldiers ran to her side helping her up.
"My lady?" a Nomad trooper spoke to her.
"Let's go… I need to heal my injuries… we failed the Mission." She told him as she would open a portal back to Nomad HQ as her soldiers went inside it. She gave Yorrichi one last glance and went inside the portal.
"Yorrichi-bro why did you spare her!?" Yukikaze asked facing her Adoptive big bro.
"I saw no point in killing her. My instincts tells me that she isn't entirely evil… just misguided." He replied.
"Well.. Guess our fun day is ruined… we will have to report this to Asagi-sama…" Rinko would say as the others nodded and would walk away.
As they left only Oboro Remained.
Oboro was disappointed that he didn't kill her… but… he will be much of a BIG problem to Nomad and her later on.. She must inform Black-sama that Ingrid has failed and been defeated.
She too would vanish. Before the others notice her.
