Authors Note: And we're back with Frozen Defender Rise of the Snow Queen, where things are about to get chilly. Now as a reminder this story was inspired by the Frozen segment of Once Upon a Time and with some references to Frozen II. Now lets begin.

Arendelle Several Weeks ago:
In the high green hills of the kingdom of Arendelle, the stone graves of King Agnarr and Queen Iduna stood silent in the cool spring breeze. The two royal sisters Anna and Elsa stood in front of the graves holding two bouquets of white two held hands as they approached the graves and lay down the two sets of flowers before the graves. The two then stood to pay their respects to their parents. Elsa looked to her younger sister smiling.
"They would be so proud of you Anna." Elsa said.
"Both of us Elsa." Anna agreed.
Just then she saw her sister had a look of worry as she looked in the sky. Anna could tell she was thinking of a certain Paladin and his friends. She could see why it had been a couple of weeks since her birthday the last time they saw the Paladins before they left to bring down Zarkon for good.
"Hey Shiro and the guys will be back, they said they would be." Anna said.
"I know but it's not like travelling dimensions isn't like walking across the street." Elsa explains. "Besides they have a responsibility to help after they stop Zarkon. I just wish...I just wish they'd come visit often."
"I know I wish they would visit more too." Anna said. "I bet your wishing a certain black knight in shining armour would come back too huh." She teased.
Elsa just blushed at that thought and chuckled nervously. Anna then took her sisters hand and pulled her back down the hill. "Well come on we don't want to keep Kristof and Olaf waiting."
She and Elsa headed away from their parents graves as they headed down the hill to join Kristof, Sven and Olaf who were waiting by the wagon. Elsa could only maintain a happy smile knowing that despite everything despite losing control of her powers, her sister nearly dying of a frozen heart heck even surviving an alien warlord from another dimension. She still had her family around her and was comforted by the knowledge that as long as they were together they'd be okay.
However little did they know they were being watched by a cloaked figure in the shadow of the trees. She placed her hand against the nearby tree which instantly turned to frost.
Present day:
Somewhere on the far side of the universe a small planet lies beyond an asteroid belt in a glowing green nebula. However the planet wasn't the best of sites it was a mining complex occupied by The Galra Empire. The inhabitants it seemed were working day and night in dark purple slave clothes digging the mines for precious Ore that the Galra later use for constructing more warships in their endless quest for power. The slaves were tired and nearly starved. Sentries stand watch over the site however one of them suddenly hears a noise coming from above them. Suddenly shooting down from the sky was a blast of energy destroying the sentries on duty. This caught the attention of the slaves and saw what was the source of the blast as the smoke cleared it revealed the Black, Blue, Red and Yellow, Lions of Voltron soaring down from the sky.
Alarms sound off all over the complex soon reaching the commander in charge who wore an eye patch over his left eye and wore dark purple and red armour.
"Sir Voltron has entered our airspace!" Alerted a Galra lieutenant.
"Launch the fighters!" Ordered the commander.
From the ground a small fleet of Galra fighters emerged from the hangers on the planet and flew to engage their enemies.
"We've got fighters incoming!" Allura warned from the Blue Lion. "Okay guys let's clear the skies and give the ground team the time they need." Kieth commanded from the Black Lion.
The four lions broke formation and attacked the incoming fighters The Red Lion was first to attack with energy blasts from its mouth destroying the fighters in its blast range whilst the Yellow Lion used its own body as a battering ram to destroy the fighters then using its tail lasers to attack incoming fighters. The Black lion was using its double bladed jaw blade to slice through the incoming fighters whilst Kieth was still getting used to the controls as they didn't respond as well as the Red Lions did he was beginning to ease into it. Meanwhile the Blue Lion was on the attack using its ice cannon which fired from its mouth freezing all the fighters in the air and dropped to the ground.
In the battles one thing was missing something the Galra had failed to notice where was the fifth lion?
Elsewhere:
The Green Lion of Voltron was deep in the caverns of the planet which were rather close to the main base and it flew down and soon arrived at a small ledge and it landed.
"Okay in position." Pidge relayed.
She soon disembarked from her lion but she wasn't alone, Elsa was with her in her blue altean mission suit. After the last mission to the mirror reality the Paladins had received intel from the Blade of Marmora about a Galra slave camp that resided in the sector of space they were currently in and she decided to accompany them on this mission. Though she received protests from the Paladins as they were only concerned for her safety she was still insistent as she wasn't being much help being cooped up on the Castle of Lions and her powers could help them. So eventually Kieth decided to let her come so she was helping Pidge whilst the others handled the rough stuff.
"Okay heres our entry point." Pidge said as she found a cave "According to our intel it leads to some underground tunnels that lead to the main base.
"Okay so we go in and download the prison data base and shut the hangers to cut off the reinforcements." Elsa asked.
"Yep that's the size of it." Pidge answered and so the two proceeded into the tunnels towards the main complex.
Inside the base was the main core for all the bases systems security, prisons and the hanger controls. It's guarded by a small sentries on duty. Soon a small cloud of mist enters the room getting the sentries attention then suddenly ice begins to form around the robot freezing its armour then suddenly its incased in ice the other sentries turn to their comrade but suddenly a cold breeze freezes them into statues.
Elsa then emerges from behind a pillar revealing her hands swirling with magic showing she was the one who froze them.
"Okay Pidge all clear." Elsa said and Pidge emerged and immediately made her way to the control hub.
She uses her gauntlet holo console to hack into the main core and then on the screen her hacking emoji appears on the screen.
"Kieth come in we're in the network uploading virus now." Pidge relayed on her coms.
"Okay but make it quick we can't keep the Galra's attention for long!" Kieth relayed.
Pidge nodded as she kept uploading the virus into the system until it fully took hold. Suddenly all around the base power started failing leaving the corridors darkened and the control systems went offline.
On the command bridge the Galra Lieutenant watched in shock as the control consoles went offline.
"Sir, we're loosing power all our systems are failing!" The lieutenant relayed just as the room went black. Just then the room lights up in red.
"Back up powers online but all the security grid is down including the holding cells." The Lieutenant relayed leaving a scowl on the commanders face.
Outside the hanger doors of the fighters shut preventing anymore from flying out to back up their comrades. From their vantage point the four Paladins could see Pidge's virus had done its job the hangers were shut then emerging from the base were the slaves who were being held in the cells below. They were revolting against the Galra using their tools to attack the sentries and soldiers on duty.
"Allura head down and help the slaves, Hunk Lance lets take care of the remaining fighters." Kieth relayed.
"Rodger that team leader" Lance answered from the Red Lion.
Back in the base Pidge had finished uploading the virus she began looking through the data bases.
"Pidge lets go." Elsa said.
"Hold on I just need time to download the prisoner data base." Pidge said. "If I can get access I might be able to find out if my father was held here."
"Or..Anna?" Elsa asked with a slightly hopeful look.
"Lets hope so." Pidge answered. All of a sudden there was a humming sound from an energy blaster they turned and saw a whole squad of Galra robotic sentries armed with laser rifles.
They wasted no time firing them at their targets. Reacting quickly Elsa used her powers to raise an ice wall from the ground to protect them from the blasts.
"Keep them off me I need more time." Pidge told Elsa.
"Okay" Elsa said.
The Ice Queen moves to attack the sentries firing blasts of ice at the sentries and freezing them on the spot. The sentries charged forwards with their blasters and Elsa responded by stomping the ground with her foot icing the ground below their feet causing them to slip up and fall to the ground. From her magic Elsa forms a staff of ice and skates on the iced ground and whacks the sentries with her staff and deflects their laser blasts back at them.
"Pidge any time now!" Elsa called as she pushed another sentry back.
"Almost…almost…GOT IT!" Pidge exclaimed now having the prisoner database. She disconnected the computer and ran to Elsa.
"Okay lets go!" Elsa exclaimed.
She concentrated and using her powers created a whirlwind of snow and ice engulfing all the sentries. The storm cleared to reveal the whole room was covered in ice and spikes from the ground penetrated the sentries whilst others were just frozen in place. Pidge could only look amazed and impressed at the Ice Queen.
"We should bring you along more often." Pidge said to which Elsa responded with a smirk as the two made their escape.
Outside the Galra fighters were just dropping from the sky as the three lions shot them down one by one. The Yellow Lion forms its armour claws and attacks the remaining fighters smashing into them like a wrecking ball. On the ground Allura had finished using the Blue Lion to evaluate the remaining slaves to a safe zone outside the camp where members of the Blade of Marmora waited to take them off world in a rebel ship.
"All the slaves and prisoners are evacuated to the safe zone, the Blades have it from here." Allura relayed to the other Paladins.
"Elsa and I have uploaded the virus the base is venerable now." Pidge then relayed as she and Elsa took to the sky in the Green Lion.
"Alright Paladins let's finish this!" Kieth ordered as the team knew what to do next.
"FORM VOLTRON!"
The Black Lion roared as the other lions came together, the Red and Green Lions soared into the air and formed the arms and body whilst the Yellow and Blue Lions formed the feet and legs. The five came together with Black forming the head. The lions had now formed Voltron.
In the command base the Galra lieutenant and Commander still manned the base whilst the remaining personnel had just abandoned their posts.
"Sir the slaves have escaped and all the fighters have been must evacuate!" The Lieutenant relayed.
"Victory or Death lieutenant!" The commander decided. Then suddenly they saw something in the window showing them the outside a giant shadowy figure emerged with glowing yellow eyes on its head and hands.
"What, No!" The Commander cried.
Then the shadowed figure brought its hands together building up energy between them and pulled it way to reveal a sword, it was Voltron who readied his sword to attack and all the Commander could do was glare as the Defender of The Universe delivered a blow to the base destroying it with one slash.
In the aftermath of the attack the Galra slave camp was all but destroyed and the slaves free and taken away by the Blades to a safe refuge camp. Voltron stood above the site in triumph.
"Good job guys that's another Galra slave camp out of commission." Kieth said to his team.
"Not to mention all the ore that they've been mining is all but gone so it'll slow the Galra down in making more warships or sentries." Allura agreed from the Blue Lion.
"Yep I'd call this a win." Lance agreed from the Red Lion.
Later in deep space:
The Castle of lions flew through the dark void of space having just left the slave camp.
In a room of the castle Pidge was looking over the slave database they had taken from the Slave camp she was looking through the list of slaves comparing them to a photo of her father Sam Holt. Before the Paladins defeated Zarkon Pidge learned that her brother Matt Holt was being held in the same prison holding Slav and that he was rescued by an insurgent group some time ago she knew he was out there somewhere.
She still needed to find her father because if Matt was alive so was he. However it wasn't just her father she was looking for she also had a photo of Kristof and Anna too to see if they did end up in their universe and were captured by the Elsa entered the room in her normal blue ice dress to see Pidge hard at work.
"Hey Pidge how's things going?" She asked.
"Well, I've been combing through the prisoner data base for any signs of Anna or Kristof being there." Pidge explained. "If they did end up in this universe the same way you did its likely the Galra may have found them first."
"And…" Elsa asked hopefully but as the list reached the last entry a large red cross appeared for both Sam, Anna and Kristof indicating they had no records of them.
"Nothing." Pidge said her eyes closed in disappointment. Elsa to had a heart full of disappointment as well this could've been a lead to her sister but in the end it was nothing.
"Anna , where are you?" She said with a sigh.
"Elsa I know how this looks right now, but we will find them, we have to." Pidge said in assurance which did cause her to smile a little.
Soon they headed up to the bridge where Kieth, Allura, Lance, Hunk and Coran were talking to Kolivan on the communications had just briefed the Blade leader about the mission to the slave camps with intel provided by the Marmora themselves.
"That intel on the Galra slave camp panned out Kolivan thanks for letting us know." Kieth relayed.
"Of course Paladins, but I'm afraid we have a situation of our own that we require assistance on." Kolivan said.
"What is it?" Allura asked.
"Well four doboshes ago we picked up a distress signal from a Galran outpost in the Stratus system." Kolivan.
"A distress call from a Galran outpost?" Lance wondered "Can anyone else scream trap?"
"Thats just it according to our intel the outpost was abandoned decaqhibes ago when the planet it was on turned into a baron wasteland." Kolivan explained.
"So what's sending out the distress signal?" Pidge asked.
"Unknown, I sent in a team to investigate, but we soon lost contact with them, so I sent in an extraction team after them." Kolivan then explained.
"Let me guess they disappeared too." Hunk guessed.
"Yes, and I can't waste any more blades to investigate what could be a fools errand." Kolivan continued.
"I understand Kolivan we'll investigate and with luck we'll find your missing men too." Kieth decided.
"Understood." Kolivan replied.
"Kolivan." Elsa then said getting his attention. "Have you heard or found anything regarding Anna or Kristof?" Elsa asked.
"I'm sorry your highness, we haven't found anything yet but we have a spy placed in the intelligence core of the Empire he'll relay what he finds." Kolivan replied.
"Thank you Kolivan." Elsa said in gratitude to which Kolivan nodded and closed the com line.
"I've received the coordinates from Kolivan now plotting a course." Coran relayed from his station.
Stratus System:
A wormhole opens in the dark purple nebula and the Castle of Lions emerges from it and flies toward a distant planet that looked rather dead and grey deprived of life. Large fragments of the planet float from it. The Castle enters the atmosphere and flies down given the base was most likely abandoned they could fly to the planet with ease.
From the bridge the crew saw the terrain of the planet as they followed the distress signal emanating from the far side of the planet.
"The signals strong we must be close." Coran relayed. "We should hold here and go the rest of the way in the lions." Allura advised.
"Alright everyone get to your lions we're going in." Kieth said to the other Paladins who made their way to the lifts to their lions Elsa was about to do the same until.
"Not you Elsa, your staying put." Kieth decided.
"What, Kieth I can help you guys I thought after.." "That was a simple extraction mission back at the slave camp but this is different we have no idea what's waiting for us at that base, it could be dangerous." Kieth explained interrupting Elsa.
"But my powers could help you guys?" Elsa persisted.
"You will be helping Elsa, stay here with Coran and monitor the situation." Allura added.
"Yeah we need someone to keep their ears open in case the rescuers need some rescuing." Lance then added. "You know in case Coran nods off." to which Coran glared annoyingly at the new Red Paladin.
The Ice Queen was rather unsure of this she knew she could help them however she also knew Kieth was right they didn't know what was in that base or what happened to the Blades that Kolivan sent to investigate the base. She eventually nodded in agreement.
The Lions disembarked from their hangers and flew through the mountains in the planet and soon arrived at the Galra base which looked abandoned. The lions landed on the landing platforms at the base and from the cockpits Hunk looked a little uneasy about this.
"Oh man this is even creepier than that ship." Hunk said nervously.
"The base looks abandoned but I'm still reading a distress signal coming from it." Pidge said looking at the holo console.
"Then let's find out but everyone Bayards out at all times and stay close. I've got a bad feeling about this." Kieth decided as he pulled out his Bayard and exited his lion.
The Paladins soon emerged from their lions and approached the base with their Bayard weapons out and ready for anything. Pidge used her holo gauntlet to generate an access code to open the base main door. The door opened slowly and showed a dark corridor leading to what look like nowhere. Hunk just gulped at this development while everyone else readied their weapons, Kieth motioned with his sword for the team to move forward. Lance readied his blaster and Hunk his cannon anticipating the worst as they entered the facility no telling what they'll find in there.
Back on the Castle of Lions Coran and Elsa were watching the situation from afar and kept the channels open in the event that the Paladins needed help. Just then Olaf arrived on the bridge riding Sven with the mice and Flurry hanging from his antlers.
"Hi guys." Olaf said getting their attention.
"Oh hello Olaf." Elsa greeted.
"So what's going on?" the small snowman asked.
"Well the Paladins are investigating an abandoned Galra facility that's been giving off a distress signal." Coran explained. "They've just entered now."
"Oh sounds fun." Olaf said cheerfully. "Well not really given how some of the Blades, Kolivan sent went in and didn't come out again." Coran then said.
"Oh, that sounds less fun." Olaf said a little saddened. However Elsa could only look with concern and did feel a little nervous about the planet they were on she couldn't shake the chill.
"Elsa…" A voice echoed which got her attention she looked around but couldn't see anyone but those present on the bridge.
"Coran did you hear something?" Elsa asked.
"Hear what?" Coran asked. This was very strange how Coran couldn't hear it but she could, and the voice sounded almost familiar.
Back in the base the Paladins voyaged deeper into the abandoned complex, the emergency power had kicked in giving them some light.
"How close are we to the distress call?" Lance asked.
"We're about nine minutes in." Pidge relayed.
"What on earth were the Galra doing in this base?" Hunk asked.
"I'm not sure, but it kinda reminds me of that secret outpost we found in Sendak's memories." Kieth noticed seeing the empty and broken containment units.
"I think your right Kieth, this is a Quintessence production outpost." Allura agreed.
"Which explains why the planet turned into a baron wasteland the extraction of Quintessence probably made the planet to inhospitable for the Galra to remain here." Pidge agreed.
"Still doesn't explain the distress signal though." Lance added.
With that the Paladins continued their trek through the base until they arrived at a room in the base which would have served as the main control centre. Upon entering they saw something in the middle of the room. Kieth, Lance, Pidge and Hunk recognised the device all too well.
"What there's no-one here?" Hunk said in surprise.
"I don't like this one little bit." Kieth said rather serious as he remembered what happened the last time they found a distress beacon.
Pidge looked around and saw something at one of the other doors leading into the corridors of the base she approaches it to see what's behind it.
"But then where are the blades? If they saw this distress beacon they would have left immediately." Allura observed.
Pidge approached the door and opened it and was completely horrified by what she saw on the other side. "Uh guys, I've found them." They turned to see in horror the Blades that Kolivan sent were completely encased in what looked to be ice.
"What in the name of.." Lance said in horror. Pidge looked over them scanning them with her gauntlet.
"Are they…" Hunk asked already knowing the answer Pidge shook her head telling them they were dead.
"They appear to have been frozen solid." Pidge observed, "But what could do this?"
"Coran come in." Kieth said activating the com link, however all he could hear was static, "Coran come in." Kieth tried again but no response.
"Coran are you there." Allura tried but nothing but static. "I can't reach him somethings jamming the signal." Allura said.
"Why do I get the feeling this was a set up." Lance realised.
All of a sudden something big smashed down from the ceiling and crashed on the ground the Paladins covered their eyes and when the smoke cleared it revealed something they didn't expect. It was a creature comprised of ice and snow, its body form almost resembled that of a certain guardian who watches Elsa's ice palace. However this was comprised of ice and had ice spikes coming from its back and arms and its eyes were glowing white.
The beast let out an ear splitting roar and threw its hand forward in an attempt to crush the five paladins.
"Look out!" Kieth yelled and they moved out of the way avoiding the crushing blow. Lance fired his blaster at the ice beast but the blasts didn't even phase it. The monster threw out ice spikes from his right hand Lance dodges quickly to the side to avoid them.
Back on the Castle of Lions:
Meanwhile from afar Coran continues to monitor the situation whilst Elsa sits on the bridge step with Olaf and the mice whilst Sven just slept. Elsa however was getting a little anxious it had been almost half a doubosh (an hour earth time) and there had been no word from her friends.
"Shouldn't they have checked in by now?" she asked.
"I was just thinking the same thing." Coran wondered and proceeded to contact the Paladins.
"Paladins come in." Coran said however all that could be heard was static. "Paladins? Allura?" Again only static the Altean advisor was beginning to worry. Elsa was rather worried as well however just then.
"Elsa..." the same voice called again then her heart skipped a beat as she knew who's voice it belonged to.
"Anna?" She said looking round.
"Elsa, are you okay?" Olaf asked noticing how distracted she was.
"Y, yes Olaf I'm..." just then Elsa was interrupted by a beeping sound at Coran's station and he in turn looked at what the alert was.
"Hm that's odd, the sensors are picking up a life sign on the planets surface." Coran said as the ice queen came over to see.
"But it seems impossible this planet is practically uninhabitable." As Coran spoke.
Elsa looked at the monitor where the life sign was coming from then all of a sudden she had a pain in her head as she closed her eyes in pain she saw the planets landscape below in a white clouded vision. Among some of the rocks and crevasses she could make out a figure in the fog and it was a woman and as the fog cleared she saw who it was.
"Anna!" Elsa cried as she snapped back to reality.
"Elsa are you okay you look like you just took a knock to the head." Coran asked with concern.
"Coran! It's Anna she's here!" Elsa said looking to the Altean advisor,
"What! What makes you think it's Anna down there?" Olaf asked rather surprised.
"I I don't know I just had some kind of vision but it's her I'm certain of it!" Elsa said rather hastily. "We've got to go get her!"
"Whoa whoa hold your Yelmores your highness, I think we should try and get through to the other paladins before..." however when Coran turned back he saw Elsa was gone and that the doors to the bridge just shut which meant only one thing.
"I think she's gone." Olaf said Coran could only hold the bridge of his nose in frustration.
"Coran should we go after her what if she gets in trouble?" Olaf asked with worry and Sven was looking rather worried too.
"Olaf calm down we should try to get in touch with the Paladins." Coran said trying to contact them again. "Paladins please come in." Coran said but got only static again.
Back in the Base:
Hunk was firing his Bayard cannon like a mad man trying to blast the raging ice monster that was charging towards him. As the monster charged Allura ran along side and used her Bayard chain to catch the creatures right arm and pulls back this jerked against the creature who then turned to Allura glaring with its ice cold eyes however before it could act another chain wrapped around its left arm and it was from Pidge who used her Bayard to restrain it. The creature was immobilised leaving it vulnerable and so Kieth and Lance took advantage and attacked Lance fired his blaster at the creature whilst Kieth formed his sword and attacked head on slicing at the creatures legs however as it cried in pain it used its strength to pull its arms free of its restraints and yanks Pidge and Allura across the room and flying into Hunk.
The monster turns to Kieth and tries to crush him but before it can it receives constant laser fire at its back and its from Lance's blaster. This gives Kieth the time he needs to run over to him.
"Fall back get to the door!" Kieth shouts to the other Paladins however as they made their way to the door it was blocked by ice that sealed them in.
"It's blocked we're trapped!" Allura exclaimed.
"Coran come in we need back up!" Pidge called on the coms but it was useless.
"Oh man I wish we had Elsa with us!" Hunk cried nearly panicking.
Outside the base:
Outside in the barren wastes of the cold empty world the Castle of Lions hovered, suddenly from the castle came a trail of ice. Sliding down it was Elsa suited up in her space suit, she tried to maintain her balance as she slid down from a great height soon she landed on the planets surface. She looked around the area she was in looking for something or rather someone.
"Anna!" She cried looking around amongst the rocks on the planet. "Anna!" She cried again.
Just then she saw a figure standing in the fog it was the same shape she saw in her vision. The figure then moved into the fog and quickly the Ice Queen followed after it. She hurried past what appeared to be an arch in the rocks and in a cavern clearing was Anna who turned to face Elsa with a mutual expression.
"Elsa." She said and Elsa with tears in her eyes ran to her and wasted no time embracing her in a hug.
"Anna y..you're here and your okay!" Elsa said breaking from the hug and looked to her sister. "Wh, where have you been? Where's Kristof? Are you okay." She said however Anna didn't say a single word she just stood there smiling.
She was still silent and Elsa wondered why she hadn't said anything to her. "Anna?" She asked but she said nothing Elsa began to feel a little scared. Then all of a sudden she was going cold then was turning to solid ice Elsa was all but horrified as she saw her 'sister' shatter before her very eyes and turns to crystals on the ground.
Elsa stood frozen in shock as her eyes shook she saw her sister shatter before her, however the mood was interrupted.
"Oh what a performance that has to be my best yet." Said a voice that sent a literal chill down Elsa's spine she turned to see a figure in the shadows, the figure stepped forward to reveal the Snow Queen.
"Hello dear Elsa." The Snow Queen said with a smile.
The Galra base:
The paladins are barely holding their ground against the ice monster that was attacking them Hunk and Lance were bombarding the beast with laser blasts from their weapons but to no effect. Pidge meanwhile tries to get the com channels unblocked so they could call for help. Allura and Kieth protected her with their shields.
"Pidge status!" Kieth asked.
"I can't find an override frequency whatever's jamming our coms it's somewhere in this room!" Pidge relayed.
Allura looked around and couldn't see anything in the base that could be blocking the com channels, however she then laid eyes on the beacon that drew the Paladins into this trap and she saw it was glowing, then it hit her.
"The beacon!" Allura realised "its blocking our signals to the castle we need to destroy it!"
However between them and it was the ice beast that had swiped its hand knocking Lance and Hunk away. Never the less Allura ran forward towards the monster the beast grew ice claws from its hands and was ready to attack. However the pink clad paladin acted quickly and slid under the monsters legs then ran towards the beacon. The ice monster turned to pursue her only for Kieth to jump onto its back and drive his Bayard sword into it causing it to yell out and tries to grab him. Hunk charges forwards and fires his cannon at the monster, the blast forces the Ice Beast back Pidge quickly fires her Bayard grapple line across the room to the opposite wall Kieth quickly reforms his Bayard and jumps off the monster just as it trips on the wire and falling on its back.
In that moment the Altean Princess fired her Bayard chain at the beacon and with one swipe wraps the it round the beacon and swung it into a wall with a loud CRASH! The device fell to the gourd and the impact along with the damage all but caused it to shut down.
"Allura!, Paladins please come in!" Just then Allura heard Corans voice on the com link.
"Coran we're here!" Allura answered.
"Oh thank the ancients I've been trying to contact you for hours!" Coran said.
"The communications were jammed, we found the Blades but they're frozen in ice." Allura explained.
"I'm afraid it gets worse Elsa just left the castle claiming she sensed Anna on this planet." Coran said.
"What?" Pidge said in surprise. Was Anna really on this planet of all places. But Kieth thought differently he knew this wasn't the conditions for life to survive on. The air was breathable sure but nothing could survive long. Something was wrong.
"Theres a life sign but I don't know if it's Anna." Coran.
"So this was a trap but why?" Hunk wondered, but Kieth had already guessed with a horrifying conclusion.
"I have a guess and I hope I'm wrong, Coran locate Elsa and send us her coordinates we have to…" Kieth was interrupted by a loud growling sound the Paladins turned and saw the Ice monster was getting back up again with its eyes glowing white with rage.
"OH COME ON!" Lance exclaimed.
Deep in a cavern:
Elsa now stood face to face with the Snow Queen in a deafening silence alone in a cavern far from the Paladins completely alone.
"Who…" Elsa suddenly had a flash flood hit her head all at once she saw flashes of a woman dressed in brown clothing at the castle gates in Arendelle how she showed Elsa and Anna she had similar powers to Elsa, then one final memory of this woman turning into the Snow Queen herself.
Snapping back to reality Elsa now looks to the Snow Queen with a hateful glare. "You!" She growled.
"Ah so you've remembered me, I wondered what took you so long." The Snow Queen said with a calm demeanour.
"Wheres Anna!?" Elsa demanded.
"Oh well in truth she was never here, sorry for the theatrics I just needed to get you alone." The Snow Queen explained.
"Why?" Elsa asked and before she could act the Snow Queens hands surged with ice magic, slamming her hands on the ground a sheet of ice spreads across the floor and encases Elsa in ice up to her throat.
"Because we have a lot of catching up to do my sweet Elsa. After all we are family." The Snow Queen said approaching her.
"We're not family!" Elsa said struggling "Anna is my sister now where is she!"
"No, Anna's the odd one out, and eventually what happens to her happens to everyone else." The Snow Queen said tauntingly." They grow to fear us. I'm the only real family you have dear Elsa, we've both been given extraordinary abilities, but no-one understands us, they fear us you understand don't you you fled when others saw what you could do, they called you a monster, we've both been called monsters."The Snow Queen said looking Elsa dead in the eyes.
"We're not the same Arendelle accepted my powers and Anna never gave up on me!" Elsa denied.
"Yet you still fear deep down that one day you'll lose control and they will fear you." The Snow Queen retorted.
"I've put that behind me." Elsa said. "Have you though?" The Snow Queen asked and Elsa just maintained her glare but deep down wondered.
Galra Base:
Meanwhile the Ice Beast was getting back up to face the Paladins who prepared themselves with their Bayards ready to fight. Then all of a sudden before the beast can attack they heard something coming towards them they could hear something thumping on the iced up door then crashing through the door was a certain Reindeer and Snowman riding on a small Altean transport craft, they fell off it which then crashed into the Ice monster forcing it back into a wall.
"Sven Olaf!" Hunk cried and the two got up at the sound of their names Sven was a little dizzy whilst Olaf turned his head on the right way round. Sven was wearing what appeared to be a large blue dome on his head acting as some kind of breathing gear.
"Wee that was fun can we do it again?" Olaf cheered. Sven could only grunt and snort saying no!
"Where'd you two come from?" Pidge asked.
"We wanted to help Elsa so we found this ship thing in the airlock and we made our way down it was fun spinning round and round." Olaf explained.
"Well whilst admirable it was also incredibly dangerous!" Allura explained to Olaf.
Just then the Ice beast tossed the Altean exploration craft off it and lets out an ear splitting roar. Kieth was getting ready to attack when Allura stopped him.
"Wait this thing is just a distraction it's keeping us from getting to Elsa." Allura said and Kieth then realised it too.
"Allura's right forget this thing we need to move!" Kieth ordered however the monster wasn't having it and let out a blast of ice from its mouth separating Kieth, Allura, Sven and Olaf from Lance, Hunk and Pidge.
"Guys!" Kieth exclaimed.
"Kieth we'll be okay you and Allura go help Elsa!" Lance exclaimed back then turned their attention back to the ice monster and readied their weapons.
Kieth didn't like the idea of leaving his comrades behind but he knew Lance was right Elsa needed their help. So he and Allura mounted on Sven with Olaf. Sven wasted no time and rode out of the base as fast as he could towards the jagged rocks nearby.
In the caverns:
"What is it that you want?" Elsa asked the Snow Queen who still maintained her calm smile.
"Why I merely want us to be together like a family, no fear no one ever judging us by our powers and no more pain." The Snow Queen answered caressing Elsa chin.
"I already have a family and it's the one I made in Arendelle and you are not part of it now for the last time where is Anna!?" Elsa growled.
The Snow Queen was all but silent before she spoke again. "You ever wonder how you ended up here do you, that was your sister."
Elsas eyes shrunk in horror by those words. "Your sister put you here, all because she wouldn't let me be with you, she attacked me and that was what got you here." The Snow Queen said.
"Your lying! Anna would never do that, you just want me to think that!" Elsa denied.
"Really? Look at the people of this universe and those foolish Galra who will be up in arms after hearing their own were frozen." The Snow Queen taunted.
"Because of what you did!" Elsa exclaimed.
"Elsa, Elsa come in its Kieth!" She then heard a voice on her helmet comm link.
"Keith I'm in a cavern not to far from the castle, the snow queens here and..." Elsa exclaimed but then the Snow Queen used her powers to freeze the side of the helmet destroying the com link.
Not to far away Kieth heard static on his end of the com, this told him she'd been cut off. Kieth grew determined to get to The Ice Queen.
"Alright Sven, let's see how fast you can run!" Kieth said to the reindeer who smirked and ran faster with Allura and Olaf holding onto the red clad paladin as they ran deeper into the caverns.
Back in the base:
Lance and Hunk fired their blasters and cannon at the ice monster trying to hold it back. Pidge ran froward and fired her Bayard grappling hook at the monsters legs which tied round it causing the beast to fall on its face. However it just stood back up again and roared at the three Paladins.
"Oh boy this could take a while." Lance grimaced.
The monster got back up and was ready to charge forward, until it was suddenly crushed by a giant metal paw that crashed through the ceiling of the base. The three Paladins looked up to see the metal paw belonged to the Green Lion that stood above them.
"Good girl" Pidge said in relief. "Okay now let's go help the others." Lance decided.
The Caverns
"Sorry my dear but I can't let your new, friends interrupt." The Snow Queen said.
"How do you know about the Paladins?" Elsa demanded."well other than what you told me I am all but familiar with their predecessors." The Snow Queen revealed much to Elsa's surprise.
"Now why don't we take this conversation elsewhere, maybe you'll be more cooperative than the last time..."
"Stop!" A voice interrupted the Snow Queen as she and Elsa turned to see Sven arrive with Kieth, Allura and Olaf in tow who instantly jumped off the reindeer and formed their Bayards.
The Snow Queen took note of the red clad paladin and had a small flashback seeing Kieth as Alfor the original red paladin wielding what looked like a broad sword in red and white. Then snapped back to reality.
"You!" The Snow Queen said glaring at the two paladins. "You bear the armour of the ones who imprisoned me, so you must be the new Paladins."
"I take it your this Snow Queen that Coran told us about." Allura. The Snow queens attention turned to the Altean Princess and developed a smile.
"Why if it isn't little Princess Allura." The Snow Queen said surprising Allura even more.
"How do you know my name?" Allura demanded.
"Oh that's right you don't remember me do you, but I was there when you were a mere child, you even have your fathers eyes." The Snow Queen explained.
Allura was all but surprised how did this person know about her and how did she know her father? More to the deeper question how did this woman know about the original Paladins of Old.
"Enough of the mind games let Queen Elsa go and tell us where Princess Anna is!" Kieth demanded pointing his sword at the Snow Queen.
"I'm sorry but I can't do that nor can I let you leave." The Snow Queen said as she used her powers to try and freeze Kieth and Allura who moved quickly to avoid her blast. Sven and Olaf moves aside quickly and took cover behind a rock.
Kieth moves forward and tried to strike the Snow Queen with his sword who moved to avoid it, and fires a blast of ice at him. Kieth quickly formed his gauntlet shield to protect him from blast. Allura used this and leaped in the air and extended her Bayard chain towards the Snow Queen. She counters this by forming a spear from her ice powers and catches the chain round her spear pulling Allura towards her. Meanwhile Sven and Olaf sneaked towards Elsa and the reindeer began using his hooves to try and chip her free.
The Snow Queen and Allura were now in close combat. "How do you know about my father?!" Allura demanded.
"More than you it seems, but your trusted aid know more than he's telling you." The Snow Queen taunted.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Allura asked.
"Why don't you ask him." The Snow Queen said. They broke off and the snow Queen immediately froze Allura in place up to her throat.
Before the Snow Queen could act Kieth came charging in and swung his sword at her which she blocked with her ice spear then pushing him away, Kieth quickly reacted, but before he could counter attack he found he couldn't move, he saw his legs were frozen in ice.
"So your supposed to be Alfor's successors rather disappointing." The Snow Queen said, "you see Elsa they feared what I can do hence why they attacked me."
"No you took our friend and froze her kingdom, so don't try and play the victim!" Kieth retorted with venom in his voice to which the Snow Queen responded by approaching him.
"Hm such anger, much like how Alfor feared what power I had hence why he imprisoned me all those years ago." The Snow Queen said getting in Keith's face.
"No my father wouldn't do that not without good reason!" Allura denied.
"Alas it matters not, I now have what I came for and I won't let you interfere like your predecessors did, so you must be dealt with." The snow Queen said readying her powers and was aiming at Kieth's heart.
"No! Please!" Elsa pleaded.
"I'm sorry Elsa but this is what must be done to those who fear us, though his comrades will think you did this it'll show you I'm right about how people fear those with powers." The Snow Queen was ready to blast Kieth.
"Kieth!" Elsa exclaimed. Suddenly of nowhere came a powerful blast of ice coming down from above.
They all looked up to see the Blue Lion of Voltron landing on the ground and letting out an ear splitting roar at the Snow Queen this gave Elsa the chance to break free and blast the Snow Queen with her magic forcing her back. Just then the Green, Yellow and Red lions arrived on the scene.
In the cockpits the three paladins glared at the one who was holding their friends captive. The Snow Queen knew she was outnumbered so she used her powers to create a tornado of ice and snow blinding everyone around her Elsa ran into the tornado after her. However, when it cleared she was gone and any chance of finding out about her sister with her. She just collapsed onto her knees and stared to ball up with tears. Kieth was able to break free from his ice bonds, as did Allura. Kieth walked up to Elsa who was now in tears. He kneeled down and placed a hand on her shoulder.
She looked to him with tears in her eyes and just buried her head into his chest and Kieth just hugged her back whilst Allura places a hand on Elsa's head in comfort whilst Olaf hugged her too.
Moments later on the Castle of Lions:
Soon everyone was back on the Castle of Lions after telling Kolivan of what happened to his Blades and of the Snow Queen. They sat with Elsa on the bridge who told them all that had happened while they were in the base dealing with the ice monster. This was a lot for them to take in. They had been fooled just to lure them to that planet so the Snow Queen could strike when they least expect it.
"So she made a ice copy of Anna just to lure you out?" Pidge asked.
"More than that, I could hear her voice she talked to me." Elsa said still saddened.
"Oh Elsa I'm so sorry." Allura said in a comforting tone.
"Okay it's safe to say she just crossed a line." Hunk said.
"Seriously what's the deal with this Snow Queen?" Lance questioned.
"She clearly lured us out here to get to Elsa but the beacon was the same one the Galra used to lure us to the ice clusters." Kieth deduced.
"So she's working with Lotor and the Galra why?" Olaf asked.
"Yeah I thought the Galra didn't do alliances.?" Sven said (Lance speaking for him)
"Didn't stop Hans." Hunk pointed out.
"I don't know none of this makes any sense but we now know that this 'Snow Queen' had a part to play in Anna and Kristof's disappearance." Kieth deduced.
"She was Kieth." Elsa then said getting the Paladins attention.
"A part of my memory came back when she appeared." Elsa explained as she began her story.
Flashback: Arendelle some weeks ago:
Anna, Elsa, Kristof, Sven and Olaf were playing charades in the castle lounge and Anna was acting out a certain Evil Emporer they hated. Then out of nowhere they heard a knock on the castles main gate.
"You see some time after Anna's birthday we were enjoying a nice evening in the castle playing charades but then a knock on the castle door got our attention." Elsa explained.
They arrived at the castle door and outside was a woman with dark hair dressed in brown and beige clothing similar to that or nordic wool pants and shirt with wool wrapped around the bottom of her legs.
"We found her at the door begging for shelter and so we took her in." Elsa and Anna listened to what the stranger had to say and much to the Arendellian Queen's surprise the stranger twirled her hand and then a snowflake appeared in front of her. "She explained how she like me had ice powers and I was all but intrigued, during her stay she showed me some of her powers things I didn't think I could do, I felt like I'd found someone more like me. But at the same time Anna was a little sceptical about her and didn't trust her. I told her not to worry but she insisted."
As the days went by Elsa was beginning to learn more and more from this stranger. Anna at first seemed all but happy for her sister to meet someone like her. However at the same time she couldn't help but feel weary for some reason.
Flashback ends:
"The Snow Queen she..she said Anna was the reason I'm here and she said...Anna attacked her." Elsa explained much to everyones surprise. Pidge was the most surprised of all.
"What! Anna would never do that!" Pidge exclaimed in protest.
"I know she's lying, my sister would never do something like that. She's lying about the past but why what does she have to do with me or my powers." Elsa continued.
"Elsa." Kieth said getting her attention. "Take it from someone with experience, sometimes the past has a way of revealing itself sometimes in ways we may not like or expect but it does. But you and I both know that Anna wouldn't do this the Snow Queens just trying to get in your head.
"But there's more she knew about my father and the original Paladins." Allura then explained. This had really gotten the groups attention now, the Paladins of old had been to Arendelle once before. This was more of a surprise to Elsa especially.
"But how?" Pidge asked.
"I'm not sure but when we went to visit Papie and the trolls he said that the original paladins had come to Arendelle before."
"What?" Lance breathed in amazement." Thats what Grand Papie wanted to talk to you about?"
"But the original paladins time was ten thousand years ago?" Hunk said. "Arendelle probably didn't exist at that time?!"
"Wait." Elsa said getting their attention. "When..when me and Anna were kids, our father would tell us a story about how five noble knights came to our kingdom riding great lions of power." The Paladins and Allura were intrigued. "I thought it was something he made up, but after seeing you guys Anna and I couldn't help but wonder if he was talking about Voltron."
The Defenders of the Universe honestly didn't know how to process this, some how someway their predecessors had been to the kingdom of Arendelle before but it didn't make any sense for their time was about ten thousand years ago. A time where the kingdom would be nothing but a lush green valley where people had yet to set foot. Then there was the Snow Queen, she knew of them too but what did she want with Elsa and what is her connection to Anna and Kristof's dissapearence?
"So... what's the Snow Queens connection to Elsa. What's her connection to the Paladins?" Pidge wondered.
"I don't know, but I've got a bad feeling we'll be crossing paths with her again soon enough, and now Lotors involved, things are going to get harder from here on out." Kieth realised looking out at the stars.
Allura just looked over to Coran who was still at his station and what the Snow Queen said still lingered in her mind was her trusted aid hiding something, if so then what?
Elsewhere:
On the far side of the galaxy Lotor's ship flew in the never ending silence. Then it arrived at what looked like a giant castle made of ice and comprise of ice chunks found close to a certain rift. On the bridge of the vessel the Galra prince sat in his command chair facing the Snow Queen.
"It would seem things didn't work out as you planned it." Lotor said.
"No matter, Elsa will see soon enough, and I've done what I intended to do, I've assessed the Paladins pathetic ability to stop me and I planted a seed in the Altean princesses head." The Snow Queen Explained.
"But now I have another acquisition to obtain, hence why I need your help Prince Lotor." She then explained.
"And what would that be?" Lotor asked.
"Something King Alfor and your father hid from me long ago." The Snow Queen said with a sinister smile she had other intentions in mind for Elsa and the Paladins.
Authors notes: Looks like things are about to get tougher from this point forward and now the Paladins and Elsa have a bigger mystery to solve. Also I hope you all paid attention to the description of the Snow Queen in the flashback scene. It will be useful later in the story. I'll let you figure out the details. So how does the Snow Queen know of the Lore of Voltron whats her connection to Elsa? What is Coran hiding? and what is this object the Snow Queen wishes to find.
