Authors Notes: I'M BACK JACK! Now apologies for the long delay folks, I've had a lot of shifts at my new job lately especially with the run up to Christmas and I haven't found the time to update my stories. Well now I've found the time and heres the chapter you've all been waiting for. Now a recap this is part two of the two part chapter. This takes place during Pidge and Hunks little adventure to the planetoid.

:The Ice Paladin:

In the deep corners of the universe the Castle of Lions flew through space silently. Just then the Yellow Lion emerged from the Castle. From the bridge Kieth, Lance, Allura, Coran, Elsa, Olaf, the space mice, and Flurry the snowman watched as they bid farewell to their comrades Pidge, Hunk and Sven who took the Yellow Lion to investigate a tachyon signature that could potentially lead them to the missing Princess Anna or spoke on the coms system and Hunk in the yellow lion cockpit with Pidge and Sven was there.

"Hunk, Pidge, Sven good luck but be on your guard the inhabitants of planetoids like this one can be very unpredictable." Coran called from his station.

"We'll be careful thanks Coran." Pidge called on the coms from behind Hunk. The communication shut down. Allura focused her power through the crystal above her.

Moments later a wormhole appeared, and the Yellow Lion flew into the wormhole which sealed shut behind them. Elsa could only look up with a faint hope that her friends find her sister or even a clue to her whereabouts. Lance placed a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Hey don't worry they'll find something." Lance assured which did put a hopeful smile on the Ice Queens face. Kieth in truth was also praying they'd find something as Anna was the one who reminded him he's still human, he didn't want to lose someone he considered a friend. So with no time to lose.

"Okay Allura, plot a course for those coordinates, we've got to get to that key before Lotor and Ingrid." Kieth said to the Altean Princess.

"Okay but it is a great distance even by wormhole we should arrive in four doboshes." Allura said.

"Then we better get some rest something tells me we could be in for a battle." Kieth suggested.

Outside the castle a large wormhole opened before them and the Castle pushed forwards into it and it disappeared from view. They just hoped they got to their destination in time.

Elsewhere: Galra Central Command:

Meanwhile within the ever growing silence of Haggar's inner sanctum the witch in question stood in the centre of the room. Suddenly she heard the door opened and stepping into the room was a Galra general with a robotic arm with claws on his right arm. He had been summoned by the witch but why was still unclear.

"General Rott, I have an assignment for you." Haggar said addressing the Galra general without so much as, turning her head.

"I serve in the name of Galra." The general replied.

"I fear Lotor's focus wavers since his return, I knew there was a risk of bringing him back after a long absence." Haggar explained turning to face the general. "Further more his new ally this Snow Queen has questionable motives much less what she seeks to obtain through this alliance." She said with what was unquestionably concern and fear. "And I worry about the path this leads us down, I need you to keep an eye on him, follow his battle cruiser and report any suspicious behaviour to me."

The General was rather questionable about the High Priestess's orders but his was not to question why. "Vrepitsa!" He saluted with his arm across his chest and left the room on his mission.

With Haggar now alone she looked back to the casket that was in an energy orb hovering above the ground. The Altean Priestess had all been curious about this, especially the Galran Prince's new ally's keen interest in it. It made her wonder about its contents. She released it from the energy orb as it fell in her hand.

She closed her eyes and focused her powers onto the casket. "Reveal your secrets to me." She said as she now fell into a meditative trance.

Arendelle several weeks ago:

Within the castle walls of Arendelle in the ball room, Elsa was now with her Aunt Ingrid. Since finding out she had Ice powers like hers she was all but intrigued. So Ingrid agreed to show her what else she could do with her powers.

"Now up until now, you've used your powers to create beings of snow, cause eternal winters, freeze peoples hearts, and even interact with these Lions you told me about." Ingrid listed.

"Something like that but sometimes it can be tough to control. Since its tied to my emotions." Elsa explained.

"Well that there is the problem my little Elsa, you limit yourself on your powers." Ingrid explained. "You control this power and with proper training you will be capable of so much more."

Ingrid then twirled her hand around generating ice magic in her hands which swirled all around her and out of nowhere she formed an ice staff in her hands. She twirled it in her hands and fired a shot of ice magic from it and into a wall.

Elsa was completely amazed by what she saw. "Wow thats thats amazing!"

"That is what happens when you channel your powers you can make constructs that can focus your powers without conventional means." Ingrid explained. "But it can do more." She opened her hands and large snowflakes of ice appeared all around her this made Elsa even more amazed, she didn't know she was capable of all this.

"Do that again!" She breathed amazed.

"Now you try." Ingrid gestured for her to try, however Elsa was nervous. "Just concentrate on what you want to form."

So Elsa closed her eyes and concentrated on the shape in her mind. She smiled as the thing she was thinking about made her happy. Then in an instance forming in her hand from her ice magic was an ice construct. Which was in the shape of a certain Bayard weapon. Which then changed shape into what looked like a staff with a snowflake on it.

Elsa looked in amazement, she'd actually done it, she twirled the staff and then fired an ice blast at the wall she was very excited. Ingrid seemed rather pleased with her niece however, it would seem by her expression she had some mixed feelings about the choice of construct.

The Ice Queen was having so much fun with her staff she just couldn't help but laugh a little. Just then Anna entered and saw what her sister was doing. "Hey Elsa!" She Elsa looked towards her and accidentally fired a blast of ice towards Anna who was quick to duck out of the way.

"Anna!" Elsa gasped as her staff turned to snow as she ran towards her sister worried she had hurt her. While Ingrid who looked worried on the outside but on the inside was infuriated.

"Anna are you alright?" Elsa asked.

"Yeah I'm fine just a little winded." Anna said as her eldest sister helped her to her feet as her aunt came over. "But that was amazing sis."

"Yeah didn't know I had it in me." Elsa realised.

"Yes, most impressive Elsa, but why did you think of that shape of construct in particular?" Ingrid asked with interest.

Elsa did sigh with a smile on her face. "Well it was something that reminded me of my friends the Paladins, well one of them. He was someone who inspired me, encouraged me to be more." Just then she did give off a small blush. "Someone who I…well."

"Someone you loved?" Ingrid questioned.

"Oooh I think I know who it is." Anna said in a teasing tone much to her eldest sisters blushing but couldn't deny what she was thinking.

"Well good focus on that it'll help focus your powers, now lets work on more forms." Ingrid said.

"Hey uh Aunt Ingrid before you do, can I just ask. Why hasn't mother ever told us about you?" Anna asked.

"Oh I told you Anna we drifted apart after a while." Ingrid said simply. "So there wouldn't be much to talk about. Now your sister and I have work to do."

"But why did…" Anna tried but.

"I said not now!" Ingrid snapped a little which took her nieces by surprise. "I…I'm sorry but I have a lot to do now come Elsa." Ingrid said heading to the centre of the room.

Anna looked a little hurt by what she said and looked to her sister. "Elsa I get she's our aunt but what was that about I only wanted to know why she and mother had become distant."

"I know I'm curious too but its probably a sensitive subject now how about you go find Kirstof and I'll meet you later." Elsa said with a smile so with that Anna nodded as her sister headed off to practice her magic with her aunt.

But as Anna looked back to see Ingrid show Elsa how to create more ice constructs to focus her power through. She couldn't help but wonder something, the way her aunt reacted to the question about her mother Iduna. She saw how people were sensitive about certain things if Kieth was anything to testify to but this was different, it sounded almost vindictive. But the fact she brushed her off like she wasn't interested in her. Just what was going on?

Present day:Castle of Lions:

Elsa surged awake from her bed she was in her Altean bed robes, she looked and saw she was still in the castle but saw a brief light from her hand and saw the Ice Bayard in her hand but then turned to snow. She was still in shock from that memory she had, but there was one thing she did remember the memory she had when and it did cause some tears to swell up in her eyes.

Black Lions hanger:

Moments later Elsa was in her ice dress and she was standing before the Black Lion. She looked up at it out of grief for she was deeply missing the Paladin who once flew this lion just as much as she missed her sister. The Black Lion stood silently.

She then did something unexpected, she entered the Lion, and moments later she sat in the Black Lions cockpit with the chair moving her into the pilots area. It was dark and dim with no power at all. She sat in there alone which gave her time to think, and how she not only lost her sister but the man who inspired her and who she respected.

"I wish you were here Shiro…I..I don't know what to do anymore." Elsa said in grief. "You knew just what to say to me…I…I don't know what I'll do without you or Anna." She admitted as a lone tear ran down her face. "Ingrid's like me, she fled out of fear and she let her power turn her into what she is, what if…what if that happens to me?"

The tear landed on the left control stick, and then almost out of nowhere. "Elsa.."

The Ice Queen was taken completely by surprise she looked all around the cockpit for the source of the voice. "W…who's there!?" She asked almost scared, was this one of Ingrids tricks?

"Elsa…" The voice called again but she knew who's voice that was but she just couldn't believe it.

"Sh…Shiro?" She breathed but before she could process all of this.

"Paladins! Elsa to the bridge we're arriving at the coordinates!" Coran's voice sounded on the castle intercom which made Elsa jumped in surprise. After calming down she left the Black Lions cockpit and headed to the bridge.

Emnios Sector:

In the orange coloured nebula of the Emnios system, the Castle of Lions emerged from a wormhole and before the ship was a planet that looked like its left side had been blown to pieces with the fragments floating around it.

On the bridge Lance, Kieth, Allura, Elsa, Olaf, the mice,Flurry and Coran looked from their stations to the planet before them. "So the key is on that planet?" Olaf asked as he waddled next to Lance's station.

"Looks like it little guy." Lance realised.

Kieth however was a little unsure about all this something seems off. "Coran you sure this is the place?"

Coran looked at the coordinates provided to them by the first key, and compared them to their current position. "The coordinates should be spot on accurate." He relayed.

"Well its not much help if we don't know where to start." Keith realised, then suddenly the answer came seconds later.

For suddenly in the Green Lions hanger, where Pidge kept the key for study in her lab area, in case she could find a means of locating the other keys. The key surged with energy and out of nowhere blasted a beam of light through the castle and projected it out into space towards the planet.

"What the frack?" Lance said in surprise. "Where did that come from?"

Allura wondered that too then suddenly she felt a surge of energy and she recognised it. "The key it must be reacting to the second key." She realised.

"So they're drawn to each other." Elsa realised. "Like Coran said use each key to find the next."

"Oh and its pointing to that planet!" Olaf pointed and Flurry with the Space Mice jumped for joy.

"Okay lets head down and take a look, everyone to the lions." Kieth instructed them. "Elsa you'll ride with Allura, Coran stay here and on alert."

"He's right Coran, Ingrid found us once she might again we don't want to take any unnecessary chances." Allura agreed. "This is also deep Galran territory we need you on alert in case a patrol comes by."

Coran nodded when he realised she was right, since the Emnios system was one of the Galra territories they had to tread carefully. As if they were discovered it could lead to a fight they couldn't finish, given they were one lion down.

"I'll go with Elsa and Allura." Olaf suggested.

"No Olaf not this time, its too dangerous." Allura said to him in an understanding way.

"But I want to be there to help Elsa." Olaf said in a genuinely concerned way, Allura could see it in his eyes and she wasn't the only one. Kieth saw it too, plus if what happened during that comet incident he would follow regardless.

"Alright you can come, but stay close to Elsa and Allura." He decided. "Do what they say when they say it okay."

"Oh I will." Olaf nodded with a smile.

The three lions disembarked from the castle and headed down towards the planet. The Black lion lead with Blue and Red behind it, they flew down the caverns of the planet following the light from the first key. They wore their Paladin suits and flight suits, Olaf wore Lances spare Paladin helmet on his head.

"Okay Allura where are we heading?" Kieth asked from Blacks cockpit.

Allura had the first key with her and Elsa in the cockpit of the Blue Lion, Elsa held it as it guided their way. The new Blue Paladin noticed the direction the light was heading it pointed them to the cliffs below.

"We need to land its pointing to the ledge below." Allura said on the coms.

"Okay lets go down, but be cautious." Kieth said and so the three Lions headed down and landed on the cliffs below. The lions lowered their heads and from their mouths the Paladins and Elsa disembarked.

They looked around for any sign of their quarry, but all they found was the black cooled lava landscape. "Uh guys I'm not seeing any sign of a key?" Lance wondered.

"Allura you sure this is the correct position?" Kieth asked.

Allura took the key from Elsa and the light pointed where they were now. "The light shows the key should be here?" Allura questioned.

"Yeah well I'm telling you there's nothing here?" Kieth wondered getting a little agitated.

Lance came over and looked at the key taking it from Allura. "Allura you sure this things working right?" Lance asked.

"It is Lance we're missing something?" Allura wondered.

"Okay everyone take a look around." Kieth suggested, so they looked around their environment for something that could give them a clue. But so far there was nothing except solidified lava that lay at their feet and cliffs.

Olaf looked up at Elsa and she looked a little worried in her eyes and rather fearful. "Elsa?" Olaf asked which made Elsa jumped in shock. "Are are you okay?"

Elsa was silent for a minute before she spoke again. "Y..yes Olaf I'm fine." She said but in truth she was lying.

"Well its just you've been quiet since we got here? I'm worried." Olaf said.

"Olaf its okay I..just..I just got a lot on my mind thats all." Elsa admitted. "I..its just with Ingrid, this stone, Anna and everything else I just…." However as Elsa looked she noticed something about the flow of the rock below their feet.

She knelt down and saw it was flowing like a current like a river, the lava flow from this planet would've solidified over time. "Hey guys." She called getting the Paladins attention.

"What does this look like to you?" She then asked and as the three Paladins crouched/knelt down to take a look they began to see what she meant.

"Its hardened lava after it cooled why?" Lance asked.

"No look if this volcano had erupted when Allura's father sent the key here would it have landed in the lava?" Elsa asked.

"But won't it just melt?" Kieth asked.

"Unlikely these keys survived interstellar travel from Altea, they could survive anything." Allura realised.

Elsa began to see why they couldn't find the key at the location. "Hold on do you think the lava flow carried it down hill?" She wondered.

Kieth looked at the solidified currents and could see the direction it headed in. "You could be right, lava currents would've carried the key down hill." He realised. "Lets take the Speeders and follow the trail."

"We'll have to move quickly, it won't be long until the Galra discover our presence." Allura agreed.

Moments later the Paladins with the Ice Queen in tow were in their respective speeders zooming down the volcanic landscape. This time Elsa sat with Allura in the drivers seat, as she managed to make some room. While Olaf sat on Lance's lap as he was good company for the little guy.

Meanwhile:

Several quadrants away Lotor's Space cruiser flew through space as they closed in on the Emnios system. On the bridge the generals monitored all frequencies. Ingrid (The Snow Queen) stood near Lotor's throne where the prince himself sat.

"Axca report." Lotor adressed his general.

"We've arrived in the Emnios sector, and are closing in on the coordinates, the Snow Queen provided." Axca reported.

"Yeah but now we've got another problem." Ezor said as she brought up the holo screen showing a certain Altean flagship.

"The Paladins." Lotor smirked.

"Some how I'm not surprised, where my niece is, their friends are sure to follow. They must know whats here." Ingrid realised.

Zethrid had a sadistic look of anticipation on her face. "Then this is our chance I say we attack now and wipe those Paladins out in one strike!" She yelled.

"Now now while I admire your lust to destroy the Paladins Zethrid, we need to focus on retrieving the relic that leads to what is ours." Ingrid suggested. "We must move now to acquire it, the Paladins are no doubt on that planet already."

Lotor took a moment to consider all that was said, but being the strategist he is he could only motion one thing. "No." Much to the surprise of everyone else. "We cannot go any further without the Altean ship detecting our presence."

"Are you suggesting that we sit here and do nothing?" Ingrid said growing impatient.

"A leader knows when to engage a fight and when to be smart." Lotor simply said. "We cannot openly attack or else it could alert nearby Galra forces, though I am acting emperor there are those who don't wish to follow me." The Galran prince glared. "Namely the witch. So we must be smart." He turned to his generals. "I shall lead this matter Axca, Narti, Zethrid we will be heading to the planet and aid our ally in recovering this item. We shall use a fighter but remain fly on the dark side of the planet to avoid detection."

"Vrepitsa." Axca saluted with her arm across her chest as did the other generals. While Ingrid could only smirk with anticipation, she had to admit Lotor had cunning how unlike his father.

The Planet:

Far below the Black, Red, and Blue speeders sped down the solidified lava lake. Speeding down the rocks and ripples in the ground. In their speeders the Paladins followed the signal given off by the key in their possession. Allura lead the group with the key in hand.

"Okay according to the key we should be getting close." Allura called to her fellow Paladins.

"Be on the alert, these caverns look like a good spot for an ambush." Kieth warned.

"Hey no worries, if Ingrid shows up Elsa can go full on Ice Queen on her like back on Olkarion." Lance suggested jokingly.

Though it was intended as a joke Elsa did cringe, a little at that statement. She tried to hide it but Allura could see something was truly bothering her, she suspected it had something to do with Ingrid and how they share the same power. She wanted to say something but she just couldn't.

Suddenly however they saw something that made the Speeders come to a sudden halt. For when they looked, what lay in front of them was a mountain wall and there was a cave carved into the front of the rock face. The canopy of the Speeders retracted allowing them to exit their speeders.

"Its a dead end?" Lance questioned.

"So where's the key?" Olaf asked.

"But this can't be right the current headed down here?" Elsa questioned. "Did we miss something?"

Kieth looked at their surroundings, he didn't want to believe this was a wild goose chase following the lava currents. So he tried to look at a new angle. "Patience yields focus." He said to himself after taking a breath. He stepped out and he looked around his environment.

Elsa just kept wondering about something, that was twice she'd heard Kieth say those words but did they have some hidden meaning? Regardless the new Black Paladin felt the solidified currents below, with his hand and looked at the direction they were heading into. When he looked up he saw the cave in front of them.

"No this is the right way, the current goes on into that cave." He said. "I'm guessing the currents split from this point and the key proceeded down either one of them."

Allura intrigued by this stepped out of her speeder with Elsa and held up the key. Almost immediately the light from the key shot directly inside the cave itself. "Your right, it may've gone down into that cave."

"And thats where we'll find the key." Elsa realised.

"Then lets go." Kieth said as he, Lance and Allura activated the lights on their gauntlets Elsa stayed close to Allura with Olaf, as they entered the cave. Little did they know they were being watched from afar as a sheet of dark ice froze on the rocks from afar.

The team entered the cave and scouted out the area. Allura lead the group, holding the key as the light emanating from it guided their way to find what they seek. Olaf stayed close to Elsa's leg and did his best to keep up. The cave was all but quiet and desolate the walls carved from the lava that exploded from it.

"This is a dark cave." Olaf said.

"Its no cave Olaf its a volcanic vent, its where lava has flooded out." Kieth said as he looked at the walls.

"By my guess the volcano on this planet erupted many decapheebs ago." Allura guessed. "Which also explains what happened to half this planet."

"Wait a volcano eruption did this?!" Elsa breathed in surprise, they saw this planet was completely destroyed on one side. But to think a volcano could do this?

"More like a chain reaction, one volcano couldn't do this, even I know that." Lance guessed.

"Oh right because most volcanos don't blow up until their ready and when they do they become dormant." Olaf said. "Did anyone know that?"

Lance and the others looked completely dumbfounded, by what the little snowman had just said. "How did you know that?" Lance asked. "Have you been spending time with Pidge and Hunk?"

"Yeah, after the comet thing they showed me a lot of things." Olaf said. "It was really interesting."

"Well I'm glad to hear your learning new things Olaf." Elsa said which did cheer her up a bit.

The group continued to follow the path given to them by the key down a narrow pathway heading down deeper into the caverns. So far they found no indication of the key. "Man this key must be well hidden we sure that things working?" Lance questions.

"Lance that key is our only guide to finding the other one so we can find the stone." Kieth explained.

"How interesting." Echoed a voice through the air. The Paladins, Elsa and Olaf turned round to see Lotor, The Snow Queen, Zethrid, Axca and Narti. The two teams stared each other down in a Mexican stand off style way. Elsa's eyes shook seeing Ingrid standing with Lotor and his generals.

"So thats how Alfor hid what was mine, very clever to think that item was what I wanted on that planet but now I find it was a trail leading to it." Ingrid smirked then looked to see a certain niece of hers standing next to Allura and Olaf. "Ah and little Elsa so nice to see you here we still have to finish our little family discussion."

Kieth, Lance and Allura stood in front of Elsa and Olaf with their Bayards at the ready forming their respective weapons. "You're not separating us from her this time!" Allura defied.

"You stand admirably Paladins yet our numbers say otherwise we're both evenly matched." Lotor simply said drawing his sword. "Simply hand over the relic and we'll leave you in peace.

"Prince Lotor I presume?" Kieth glared.

"Yes and judging by the colour of the Bayard you carry. I have to assume you are the leader of the Paladins, yet the stories I heard told of the Champion who survived the Galra arena." Lotor said looking at Kieth but couldn't see much in terms of a leader. "You bear the responsibility of the Black Lion yet the look in your eyes shows one of a Galra soldier."

"Shut up!" Kieth glared showing his sword.

Ingrid however chose not to wait any longer. "Enough of this banter!" Ingrid stepped forward and sent a surge of ice magic towards them. Allura and Lance formed their respective gauntlet shields to block the ice blast but it knocked them all back sending them tumbling to the ground.

Lance quickly recovered and fired energy blasts from his Bayard blaster. Axca pulled out her laser pistols and fired blasts towards the Paladins, while Zethrid and Narti charged towards their opponents. Kieth and Allura recovered quickly.

"Lance stay with Elsa and Olaf!" Kieth exclaimed as he and Allura charged at their Galra halfbreed opponents.

Zethrid attacked Allura trying to slam her fist into her but the Altean Princess leaps over her and launches her Bayard energy chain and latches it around the generals wrist and pulled her back. However the brute general retaliated by simply grabbing the chain and swinging the Paladin into a wall with a *CRASH!*

Allura groaned, as she looked up to see Zethrid about to crush her but then. A small rock hit the Galran general in the head. She looked and saw a certain small snowman had thrown it.

"Hey leave her alone you big bully!" Olaf exclaimed but the halfbreed Galran general just had a sadistic smile on her face.

"Oh ho ho you little runt! Your not so big as that snow beast from before I'm gonna enjoy this!" She cracked her knuckles ready to crush the little snowman. Suddenly Allura leaped up in the air and kicked her straight in the face with a roundhouse kick knocking her back briefly.

Allura shot a grateful smile to Olaf who smiled in return and she rejoined the fight.

Kieth meanwhile avoided tail strikes from Narti with his sword before he performed a roundhouse kick to knock her away. Suddenly he picked up the sound of sheathing metal and with one quick move he blocked the sword of Prince Lotor as the leader of the Paladins glared down the Galran prince.

They broke apart and slashed their swords against each other clashing their blades. The sound of clanging metal echoed through the cave as they battled. Lotor slashed his blade against Kieth's Bayard sword, and then moved to perform a spin kick to kick Kieth to the side. This ignited the anger in the new Black Paladin as he yelled and slashed his blade at Lotor then leaped over him and performed a leg swipe to trip him up.

Lotor leaped up again and faced down Kieth as the two breathed rapidly. The Galran Prince eyed the Paladin with some form of respect for his skill. "I'm impressed with your skill, but the way you fight is almost like a Galra soldier. If I didn't know any better I'd say you had a dash of Galra blood in your veins."

Kieth was about to retaliate when suddenly he was attacked by Narti and her tail strike and his Bayard was knocked out of his hand and hit the floor. Kieth resorted to a fist fight blocking Narti's attacks even slashing at him with her claws. Keith ducked out of the way and reached his hand out then almost immediately the Bayard appeared in his hand and reformed his sword and charged into battle.

Lance continued to fire his Bayard Blaster at Axca who runs forwards firing her laser blasters at him. She leaps in the air and thrusts her feet into his chest catapulting him back, followed by a series of punches and round house kicks which Lance was able to duck and avoid them. Lance retaliated with a swing of his fist knocking Axca back as she dodged it leaving her open for him to fire his blaster at the Half Galran general which she blocked by crossing her arms. She then leaped and performed a spin kick knocking Lance back.

"Lance!" Elsa cried she ran to try and help her friend only for her path to be cut off by ice spike that erupted from the ground. She felt a chill down her spine, in turning around she saw her aunt standing behind her.

"Ah ah ah little snowflake, I'm afraid we still have family matters to attend to." The Snow Queen said with a smile of twisted evil. Elsa shook as she tried to use her powers but for some reason she hesitated.

Ingrid however had no hesitation she used her powers to form a scepter of ice which she focused her power through and fired an ice blast at Elsa who quickly dove to the right to avoid it. Ingrid fired another ice blast which Elsa narrowly avoided only to trip on a rock and fall to the ground.

She tried to get up only to feel a sharp cold she looked and saw her feet and hand were frozen in place on the ground. She looked up to see Ingrid, standing over her. "Oh whats this little Elsa letting your fears control you? If you'd just let go and be with me you can see how we can be a family again."

"Your not my family! You let that go long ago my mother tried to help you!" Elsa exclaimed.

"Your mother hated me! She feared the real me just as she and Agnarr feared the real you! Just as your so called friends will!" Ingrid exclaimed. "Now come along enough of this foolishness." She readied her staff to take her niece back with her.

Allura continued her duel with Zethrid when she looked saw that Elsa was in trouble, but why didn't use her powers to defend herself. "Elsa!" Allura cried only for Zethrid to slam her fist into Allura sending her crashing into the wall. Zethrid was ready to crush her only for Olaf to grab her leg and start punching it.

"Leave her alone leave her alone!" Olaf yelled only for Zethrid to simply kick the little snowman away but suddenly Allura rushed under the general grabbed Olaf and performed a backflip kick knocking Zethrid back. She looked and saw Ingrid was close to Elsa.

"Elsa defend yourself fight back!" Allura yelled.

Kieth blocked another strike from Narti's tail before kicking her to the side and quickly blocking the strike from Lotor's sword. The new Black Paladin saw Elsa was hesitating too but why.

"Elsa snap out of it use your powers and fight back!" Kieth called.

Elsa was still afraid and frozen in place she had flashes back to the trauma she suffered when she was Haggar puppet, namely when she hurt Shiro, or back to when she accidentally revealed her powers at the coronation, or worst of all. When she froze Annas heart by accident and seeing her freeze before her. She breathed heavily in panic as Ingrid drew ever closer.

Lance was fighting Axca and readied to fire his blaster only for the general to kick him back with a roundhouse kick. He hit the ground but fired a laser blast into the ceiling above. The explosion caused the cave walls and ceiling to rumble and crack. The party in the cave looked and saw rocks began crumbling down. It was caving in.

"The caves collapsing!" Kieth exclaimed as the Paladins and Galra broke from their battle. Ingrid snarled as the rocks cave in she was close to capturing her niece she wasn't going to be denied again.

However she was interrupted by a loud yell she looked and saw Kieth leaping in with his Bayard sword in hand. He tried to slash at her but she blocked his attack with an ice shield. While they struggled, Elsa quickly melted the ice under her to break free and Ingrid yelled as she catapulted Kieth across the room and hit his head on the rocks on the ground as the cave collapsed.

"Kieth!" Elsa yelled as she ran to him as rocks dropped down she stepped side to side to avoid them.

"We gotta get out of here!" Axca exclaimed.

"No this is our chance to crush them!" Zethrid exclaimed however in that moment the ceiling completely gave way and everyone cried out as the cave was sealed shut and the inside was consumed with smoke. They were all buried alive at rock bottom.

Arendelle several weeks ago:

Nightfall had fallen over Arendelle, Elsa was with Ingrid in the mountains close to the castle and they headed up the North Mountain. "Its going to be a long journey up these mountains." Elsa said.

Ingrid just gave a smile as she looked to her niece. "Well there's a way to speed that up." She used her ice powers and with a wave of her hands emerging from the snow and ice magic was two horses. Elsa was completely bewildered and amazed seeing this.

"You can animate more than just snowmen from your powers." Ingrid smiled as the two mounted their ice horses and rode up to the North Mountain.

The stalions rode and rode all the way up the mountain narrowly avoiding the wolves, journeying through the ice spikes near the top before finally arriving at Elsa's Ice Palace. They dismounted their horses and looked upon the ice palace. Ingrid was all but basking in amazement.

"Amazing, you created all of this." Ingrid said quite amazed. "I'm very impressed little snowflake."

Elsa was all but bashful about her aunt praising her. "Oh well i..its nothing really." She said as she looked at her ice palace too. "I made this place after I ran away from my coronation after I used my powers by accident, and when well…people called me a monster."

Ingrid did know all too well how that felt though she wouldn't share certain details with her niece. "It is only natural, we have a gift that no-one understands and sometimes people fear anything thats different."

"Yeah thats why my parents tried to help me control my powers and sheltered me away for most of my life." Elsa admitted. "Even from Anna, but looking back I don't think it helped either of us, but Anna never gave up trying to help me. It was when I realised that our love for each other helped me gain control of my powers and save Arendelle from the Eternal Winter."

Ingrid just gave a rather supportive smile to her niece. "Well you two are lucky, but there are some people who don't appreciate the gift we have, and many could still be afraid. They don't understand magic kind."

"Well thats what I thought at first about showing my powers, but…someone..a friend told me once that if you ever get too worried about something that could go wrong you may miss the chance to do something great." Elsa said.

"Hm wise words indeed." Ingrid agreed as the two admired the ice palace.

Moments later:

Back at the castle Anna was looking through some of the books in the library. Namely some books regarding Arendelle's lineage. She found one book on her family tree starting with King Runeard his wife Queen Rita, and down to Agnarr and Iduna her mother and father. However looking at it there was no mention of her aunt Ingrid anywhere in these books. But she knew that her aunt told the truth by the sound of her voice, but just what was she hiding and why didn't her mother say anything about this?

Just then she heard the sound of horses returning and remembered where Elsa had taken her aunt tonight. So she headed down to the castle gates.

At the castle gates Ingrid and Elsa returned after dismounting from their horses which turned to snow again. They headed inside and were soon greeted by Olaf and Anna. "Elsa, Aunt Ingrid how was the hike?" Anna asked.

"Oh it was great Anna I took her up to the Ice Palace." Elsa said.

"Oh thats where we went to find you good times." Olaf chirped.

"Well aren't you an inquisitive little one." Ingrid said to the snowman.

"Yeah he's like that so Aunt Ingrid…" Anna tried but.

"Elsa how about I show you how to create more than just snowmen from the snow." Ingrid said completely ignoring her other niece.

"Oh okay." Elsa said then looked to her sister. "Anna I'll see you later for Charades okay." She said and Anna nodded as the two headed inside.

Anna was feeling happy for her sister but at the same time she was starting to feel neglected. It was almost as if Ingrid was more interested in Elsa than her, she wasn't jealous but she's family and she should accept both of them. It was starting to feel like she was all alone again. Olaf could see something was bothering her.

"Anna are you okay?" Olaf asked.

"I..I don't know, I mean I get she's got powers like Elsa but…its like she thinks I'm invisible." Anna said rather sad.

"Oh don't think that way, I'm sure Ingrid thinks of you as family she's just been busy." Olaf tried.

"Yeah but I'm family too that means all of us." Anna said. "But its not just that, I get this feeling she's hiding something, there's no mention of her in our family history or anywhere else. I mean I believe she's my aunt but…Why do I feel like there's something she's not telling us."

"Like what?" Olaf asked.

"I don't know, I need to find answers." Anna wondered where could she find answers about her aunt or her origins, then an idea popped in her head. "And I know just where to find them. I need to go see Grand Papie."

"So what are we waiting for?" Anna was startled when she looked to see Kristof and Sven standing behind them.

"Kristof? Sven? How much did you hear?" Anna asked.

"Enough to know that when somethings bothering you, you're likely to do something crazy." Kristof said. "Plus maybe your right I mean I've seen loving aunts but something about her rubs off on me the wrong way. Besides I know when you're telling the truth."

Anna looked warmly at her boyfriend, before she pulled him into a loving kiss. Which he was more than happy to return. The two broke apart and looked at each other. "Have I told you how much I love you lately?"

"Mmm you could stand to say it a little more." Kristof joked to which Anna giggled. "Well come on lets get going." So the two with Sven and Olaf in tow headed out in the wagon rolling along the road, out of the kingdom and into the mountains.

Present day:

The smoke cleared inside the cave and in the desolate silence, something began rumbling in the rocks. Emerging from the ground was Elsa her suit was completely covered in dust from the rocks. She coughed inside her helmet and the lights inside were flickering until they stopped. She looked around and she saw she was in the dark inside the cave. She suddenly remembered what happened the ambush by Lotor and Ingrid, and then the cave in.

However she looked and saw she was all alone. "Hello!" She called. "Kieth, Allura!, Lance! Olaf!" She called but no response. "Anyone!" She called out. However there was no reply, but then out of nowhere came a groaning noise. She looked where it was coming from and hurried over.

She soon discovered Kieth was under some of the rubble. "Kieth!" Elsa cried as she hurried down to him. He was struggling to move the boulder that trapped his leg. "Are you okay?!" She asked.

"Yeah…grr my legs trapped." Kieth growled trying to move the boulder. Elsa looked and saw that his right leg was trapped under the boulder.

"Hold on." Elsa said and began pushing on the boulder with all her might growling and grunting.

"Elsa, Elsa thats not helping we need to do this together!" Kieth called. Elsa could see this was a two person job.

"Okay on three." Elsa said to him. "One, two, three!" She and Kieth pushed on the boulder with all their might and it did move a little. "Okay again…One, Two, Three!" They grunted as they pushed on the boulder and pushed and pushed until finally the boulder rolled away and Kieth's leg was free.

Elsa knelt down to him to see if he was hurt. "Are you okay?" She asked.

Kieth tried to stand up but grunted in pain as he tried to move. "Gah!" He growled.

"Easy don't over do it." Elsa advised.

"I..its okay its just a scratch." Kieth said but it wasn't as he felt his leg was in pain. "Gah! Okay okay maybe not. I…I think its my leg."

The Ice Queen looked over, the new Black Paladins leg she felt along it for any pain until Kieth cringed in pain. "Its not good I think your legs broken, I don't think you'll be able to walk."

"Gahh its no good just waiting here, we need to find the others!" Kieth tried but he couldn't move. He tried to use his gauntlet radio. "Lance, Allura you there come in!"

However there was no response there was only static. "Nothing we must be too deep underground to communicate, we're on our own."

Elsa didn't like seeing her friend like this, and deep down she knew it was her fault if she'd just used her powers none of this would've happened. She had to try and help him.

"Hold on I'm going to try something." Elsa said. Then she used her ice magic and placed her hands on Kieth's leg, and she encased it in a cast made of ice. "How does that feel?" She asked.

"It helps." Kieth said. Elsa then offered her hand to him and he took it the Ice Queen helped him to his feet and put his arm over her shoulder. "Okay lets follow the tunnels and see if we can regroup with the others."

"Okay." Elsa said as she and the new Black Paladin moved slowly into the tunnels in the hope they find their missing comrades, and hoped they didn't come across any hostiles.

Elsewhere in the caves that were collapsed by the cave in the boulders rumbled, and soon Lance emerged from the rocks coughing in his helmet. He had his gauntlet shield activated to shield him from the collapse.

"Allura! Kieth! Elsa! Olaf!" Lance called out in the cave. "Guys!" All was quiet as there was no response, when suddenly.

"Lance!" Called a voice and the Red Paladin looked and knew who's voice that was. He saw a certain Blue Paladin emerge from the rocks.

"Allura!" He called as he ran over to the princess and helped her out of the rocks. "You alright?"

"A bit winded, but alive." Allura coughed and she looked and saw she still had the Key in her hands. "Well at least we still have the key."

Lance then moved to try and contact his comrades. "Kieth come in!" He called but there was nothing but static. "Elsa, Coran anyone?!" He tried but nothing. "Great, nearly got buried alive and now we can't contact the others."

Allura could see they weren't getting rescued, and given the circumstances they knew they couldn't be alone down in the cave. Then she remembered what they were also down there for. "Well we may not know where we are, but we still have the key if we follow the signal to the second there's a chance we may regroup with the others."

"Yeah or get lost in a maze." Lance said.

"Do we have a choice? Ingrid may've survived the cave in as we did." Allura said and the new Red Paladin could see that maybe they didn't really have much choice. They could either wait for a rescue or try and complete the mission and get the key.

"Okay lets do it, but we better be ready." Lance said as he reformed his Bayard and made his blaster, and Allura did the same with her Bayard. So they headed into the tunnels following the path illuminated by the light of the first key.

Elsewhere in the deeper darker tunnels the dust cleared to reveal that Olaf was okay and not buried alive by the collapse. Olaf was covered in soot from the collapse, he looked around and saw he was alone.

"Guys!" Olaf called. "Elsa! Allura! Kieth!" His voice echoed all over the cave but didn't get any replies. "Elsa!" Olaf called again but nothing. "Oh Quiznak." He looked around and wasn't sure what to do. "I need to find my friends."

So he waddled down out of the rocks of the collapse and headed down the tunnels. He wasn't sure where he was going. "I don't know where I'm going but I'm going with a smile on my face." The cheerful snowman said as his voice echoed through the tunnels.

Elsewhere, Allura and Lance continued their trek through the tunnels with the hopes they can still recover the second key. All was silent, and the Paladins were on guard. "How far down do you think we are?" Lance asked.

"Hard to say, but the lights getting brighter we must be close." Allura realised.

"Yeah but I'm a little concerned about the fact there's no fresh air down here." Lance voiced in concern. "All we've got is the oxygen in our suits."

"How much do we have left?" Allura asked. Lance looked at his gauntlet and activated its holo display, and it showed them how much air they had on one of the gages.

"Ah sixty minutes at best." Lance guessed. "Okay I say if we don't locate the key in the next five minutes we get out of here and fight another day."

"No we've come too far to turn back now." Allura said taking the lead. "We can't let this eye fall into Ingrid's hands I won't let history repeat itself."

As Allura kept going, Lance followed with his blaster at the ready but he wondered about something. "Hey what do you think happened with Elsa back there? She looked real scared when she saw Ingrid she didn't even use her powers?"

"I suspect she's hesitant at using her powers because of Ingrid." Allura wondered. "She's not the only one on edge about all of this."

"Allura?" Lance asked.

Allura stopped for a moment and sat down on one of the boulders with the key in hand. "All the battles that my father fought and all the decisions he had to make. His choice to seal Ingrid away I…" Allura wondered. "Even if we get the Eye and destroy it, Ingrid is still a threat and I wonder if…if we have to seal her away." Lance listened intently and saw where Allura was going. "I..I know thats what my father would do but…Even if we did then all that would do was cause more hatred should she escape again. I just feel so lost."

Lance could see how this whole revelation of how Alfor sealed Ingrid away in Arendelle after she let the Eye consume her was affecting Allura. He sat next to her in comfort. "But thats just it. I get this whole thing with Ingrid is messing with us but, I'm sure your dad didn't have much of a choice. Ingrid didn't exactly give him one she brought it on herself." Lance said. "But that doesn't mean you shouldn't make the same choice, I mean think back to when we first started out. We had the choice to either run and hide or stand up and fight to Sendak and you chose to stand and fight and use the Lions to free the universe from Zarkon, or even the choice to side with those who we thought were our enemies."

Allura listened to what Lance was saying. "You made choices that I doubt even your dad would make, and look where its lead us. Zarkon's gone and we're taking back the universe. The point is Allura everyone has a choice but its up to the person who does that. We're gonna beat Ingrid and get that stone but we'll do it our way."

The Altean Princess gave a smile on her face listening to what Lance had to say. She had to admit he was right, her father had many choices to make but he made them out of circumstances and for what was right. She knew one day she would have to make such choices but she has to do it on her terms.

"Thank you Lance." Allura said with a warm smile.

Lance did give a smile and a warm blush at her before changing the subject. "Uh yeah well thats what I'm here for now come on we've got a key to find." He said and so the two stood up and continued down the tunnel following the light trail from the key.

Meanwhile:

High above in the Castle of Lions, Coran was still keeping a visual on the planet and on the scanners for any signs of an incoming Galra attack if detected. So far they weren't drawing any it had been sometime before he'd heard any word from the Paladins or Elsa.

"Paladins come in." He tried on the coms. "Allura? Anyone?" However all he got was static no reply at all. "I'm not worried, should I be worried?" Coran asked but he only had Flurry the snowman for company.

"Yeah I thought that too, huh I wonder how Hunk and Pidge are doing?" He wondered.

Elsewhere:

"Hunk its too narrow pull out!" Pidge warned as the cave they were falling into growing narrower and narrower.

"I'M TRYING!" Hunk exclaimed. However no matter what they kept going down and grew rather too close to the ground. "BRACE YOURSELVES!" Hunk cried.

*CRASH!* The Yellow Lion crashed and rolled across the floor of the cave and crashed into the rear wall. The impact caused a cave in and nearly buried the Yellow Lion. Inside the cockpit Hunk lay unconscious in the control chair while Pidge and Sven were knocked out on the floor.

Meanwhile:

Deep within the collapsed caves Elsa and Kieth continued their trek through the caves to either find their way back to the surface or meet back up with Allura, Lance or Olaf. Their journey was slow given the injury to the new Black Paladins leg. Elsa was supporting him, as they walked.

"You okay Kieth does your leg hurt?" Elsa asked.

"A little but just a bit cold." Kieth said. "I just wish I knew where we were, if we weren't worried about our air supply."

"Yeah I suppose." Elsa said.

"Elsa look we don't have much air left, just leave me here and find the others." Kieth said.

Elsa however wasn't having it. "No Kieth I won't leave you behind. You wouldn't last long down here especially if Ingrid's down here with Lotor. Besides you're like my family and I won't abandon you."

Kieth did admire Elsa's determination but at the same time why did she hesitate when faced with Ingrid. "Elsa, what happened to you back there? Why didn't you use your powers against her?"

Elsa did look a little hesitant to answer that question, and a little ashamed. "I..I don't know..I I just froze."

Before this went further Kieth did feel a bit of pain in his leg. "Gah!" He said in pain through his teeth. Elsa saw that he was still in a bit of pain.

"Oh okay we need to stop for a moment." Elsa said as she leaned him against the wall of the cave. However Kieth wasn't dropping this subject.

"Elsa, I'm no good with feelings or whatever but, I know you hesitated you could've used your powers to help but you didn't why?" Kieth asked.

"I…I guess Ingrid caught us off guard I couldn't react in time and…" Elsa tried. But she grew tense and her powers began to react as a small snow storm gathered around her.

"Elsa your lying, you hesitated!" Kieth said trying to stay calm. "I want to know why?"

"Its nothing!" Elsa tried but she was losing control of her powers as the storm grew around her.

"No its not, you let Ingrid pin you down you could've been hurt!" Kieth argued back. "When we find Anna I think she wants you to be alive? So why did you hesitate?!"

Finally Elsa snapped. "I DON'T WANT TO BECOME HER!" She yelled and the storm froze the walls of the cave in an instant, which did spook him a little. Elsa looked at her hands and she was shaking.

"I…I don't want to become her." She shivered. "She's just like me Kieth, she ran away when people judged her just like I did, what if…what if I'm destined to end up just like her." Kieth listened intently. "What if she was right and you all see me as the monster she says you'll one day see me as. She and I share the same power, I don't want to use magic that isn't truly mine. She's right I'm just like her." She said practically breaking down into tears.

Kieth realised he may've pushed it too far he felt a sting of never was good at peoples feelings. He honestly wasn't sure what to say, but he had to try.

"You think because you have the same powers your bound to her fate?" Kieth asked which got Elsa's attention. "Your not Ingrid, thats not you its not the person you are."

"Then who am I?" Elsa said with tears still in her eyes.

"Look I get it she has the same powers, and she ran away when people judged her, and let that consume her." Kieth said. "But thats just it, she let her fears get the best of her and she let her anger guide her actions. But you, think back to when Arendelle was frozen and when Anna's heart was what was it that showed you, you could control your powers and what was it that saved you?"

Elsa took a moment to think, and through her tears she had an answer. "Love, it was love."

"Right and thats what makes you different from her." Kieth said. "You and Ingrid may have the same powers, but it doesn't define you its our choices." Elsa looked and was surprised she knew Kieth had moments when he was sincere but this was new. "How do you think I felt when I found out I was part Galran, to know that the blood of my enemy runs in my veins, that…that scared me!"

To say Elsa was taken aback was an understatement, did Kieth the hot headed Paladin, who never runs from a fight just admit that he was afraid? "Y..you were scared?"

Kieth took a moment before he spoke. "Yeah, I don't often admit this, but I've been afraid my whole life, afraid people will leave me like my mother did, or even the burden of the Black Lion since we lost Shiro. I mean Allura admitted before we took down Zarkon she wasn't sure what to think of me and she wanted to hate me but she still accepted me after everything." Kieth continued. "Because its not the blood or our magical gifts that define who we are. Its our choices and who we are that counts. You know who taught me that?….Anna did."

The Ice Queen stood there in complete silence and she realised he was right. Anna never gave up on her even after all that time apart. She remembered it was her love for her that made her realise she could control her powers and how her powers never defined who she was. For a moment she looked at Kieth and for a brief moment standing in her place was. Shiro, but when she blinked it was Kieth again.

"Thats whats makes you different from Ingrid, she had that choice with your mother but she chose to throw it away. Because her fears and anger got the best of her, fear is what can't be trusted." Kieth said.

Before he said anything else Elsa out of nowhere embraced the new Black Paladin in a hug. Despite the pain he felt in his leg he was taken completely by surprise. After a minute Elsa broke from the hug and looked at him with tear filled eyes.

"You know…for a moment there you…you sounded a lot like him." Elsa admitted as her tears dried up, Kieth did give a warm smile as he knew who she was referring to. Eventually she was beginning to feel much better about things. "Thanks Kieth."

"Okay now lets get out of this cave." Kieth said and so he placed his arm over Elsa's shoulder and she helped Kieth limp down the pathway. However when they were on their way what they saw ahead of them they didn't expect. For standing in front of them sword drawn. Was Lotor covered in soot and dirt from the cave in.

"Lotor!" Kieth growled.

Meanwhile:

In another part of the cave, Olaf was still waddling around in the dark though the light from his helmet was giving him some sight he still didn't know where he was or how far he was from everyone.

"Kieth!" Olaf called. "Allura! Lance! Elsa!" However all he heard was the sound of his own voice echo throughout the cave. "Echo." His voice echoed. "Hehehe that was fun." He said.

He waddled down the pathway, just then he heard footsteps echo within the cave and he perked up with a smile. He ran over quickly to the source of the footsteps. "Guys guys is that you oh am I happy to see…"

However when he turned a corner he didn't find his friends but instead, he found. Narti she was covered in dust and she wasn't alone Zethrid and Axca was with her. "Uh oh!" Olaf gulped.

The three half Galran Generals looked down and found the small snowman. "Well well well what do we have here?" Zethrid said with a sadistic smile "A small wandering squirt!"

"Oh uh I uh you wouldn't hit a snowman with a helmet on would you?" Olaf said worried.

Before Zethrid could grab the small snowman, a hand got in her way, it was from Axca. "Stand down Zethrid hitting this little one won't help, besides he's not a threat."

Narti just stared at the small snowman and her cat Kova just stared at him intently and she looked to her fellow generals and just shook her head, indicating that the snowman wasn't a threat.

"Please I don't mean any harm, I'm just trying to find my friends." Olaf said rather scared. "Hey are you trying to find the Snow Queen and Lotor?"

"Yeah whats it to you?" Zethrid asked.

"Well maybe we can find them together?" Olaf suggested.

"Wait, are you volunteering to be our prisoner?" Axca asked.

"Well I guess but we'll be finding our friends." Olaf said. "Oh by the way I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs." He said with open arms quite literarily which did wired out the generals.

"Uh yeah just keep your distance squirt." Zethrid said. "Lets go." She said as she headed off into the cave.

"Narti watch the snowman." Axca said to the silent general who just looked to Olaf with a blank look.

"Hi is Narti your name." Olaf asked, but Narti only looked at him as they walked along but the cat just stared at the snowman. "Oh so your a person of a few words I get the way your cat is cute." With that he spoke to the silent general as they moved into the caves.

Meanwhile:

Keith was propped against Elsa as they were now face to face with Prince Lotor who had his sword drawn. Kieth materialised his Bayard and formed his sword while Elsa supported him. All was tense and quiet as the three stared each other down in a stand off.

Before long Lotor broke the tension. "Lower your sword Paladin, fighting is pointless." He looked at the Paladin and noticed the ice cast on his leg. "Judging by your injuries you're in no condition for a fight."

"I don't need both legs to fight." Kieth said defiantly pointing his sword.

"Keith please." Elsa insisted before turning to Lotor. "Why even bother fighting us Lotor? what good will it do you? Your trapped down here with us, and I don't see Ingrid coming to help you."

Lotor wasn't sure who Ingrid was but he knew she was referring to the Snow Queen. "Ah so Ingrid is her true name, though it is of little significance." Lotor simply said. "But it would seem we share the same struggle lack of contact with our allies or means of escape." It was then Kieth saw where this was going.

"So what you're proposing we work together?" Kieth said. "Thats not the Galra way isn't it victory or death?"

"We maybe enemies Paladin, but for now we have a common struggle." Lotor said as he looked to Kieth who just gave a silent glare at the Galran Prince. "As a fellow leader you'll know the wise decision."

Kieth remained silent while Elsa was worried he would do something that could injure him further. She didn't like the idea but under the circumstances fighting was a waste of time. After a minute Kieth spoke.

"Okay fine, but don't try anything or it won't be me you need to fight." Kieth warned.

"You have my word as Prince of the Galra." Lotor said with every ounce of honesty. "Shall we."

So the three headed down the dark caves in search of their absent comrades. This didn't stop the tension on their journey Lotor kept close to the two but Keith was suspicious. However this did make him think of the time he encountered the mystery Galra he saved in the Weblum in the search for Skultrite. All was quiet until they arrived at a narrow ridge in the caves.

"There." Lotor pointed and they looked to see what looked like another cave at the end of it. "That looks like a way out of these tunnels."

"If it is we should be able to get signal to contact our respective teams." Kieth agreed despite the pain in his leg.

So the three moved carefully and slowly along the ledge, as they didn't wish to slip off the edge. However all of a sudden Elsa missed a step and nearly fell of the edge.

"Elsa!" Kieth cried as he tried to pull her up suddenly Lotor moved quickly and helped him pull her back up to the ledge.

"Watch your step this ledge is unstable." Lotor advised to which Elsa silently nodded. Soon the three made it to the other side and were now on the path to the cave.

While on the path Elsa was still trying to wrap her mind around this whole situation, namely Lotor. "I just don't understand you Prince Lotor one minute you try to kill us but the next you try to help us why?"

"Because despite what you may think, my father and I are completely different people." Lotor simply said.

"Well you sure could've fooled us. After you ambushed us at Thaserix, or when you manipulated people of free planets to lure us into a trap?" Kieth said. "Hard to understand the son of Zarkon."

Lotor just ignored that shot. "I understand the hatred you and your comrades had towards my father, believe it or not that hatred is shared." He said. "For in childhood he wasn't a loving father to me, and while he built his empire from the bones of our enemies. I on the other hand believe there is another way, to seek alliances rather than enslavement."

"Like what you did on Crydor?" Elsa questioned. "You tried to insight a coup with their prince?"

"Believe it or not, your majesty Queen Elsa thats not how it was intended, I simply would've approached the chief out of curtsy and respect. For I respected their ideals, however Zykar's blind pride is what turned this into a coup, my way there would be little loss of life."

"Hard to tell the difference." Kieth said. "You have a funny way of seeking allies instead of enemies."

"Tell me something ah…Kieth is it do you know how the Galra central command ship ever came into existence to begin with?" Lotor questioned.

"No." Kieth said getting intrigued.

"Many decaphebes ago I worked with an advanced civilisation and learned much of their cultures. They would proven to be valuable allies to the empire. To prove it we worked on building the central command ship." Lotor explained as Elsa and Kieth listened. "Upon our completion we were proud of our work, but my father on the other hand wasn't so pleased, he didn't believe a future emperor of the Galra should work alongside lesser beings as if we were equals. I spoke out against him but in the end he destroyed the planet. For my actions I was banished and so I live in exile."

Kieth and Elsa honestly didn't know what to think, they didn't want to believe it but the Galran Prince showed all indications of telling the truth.

"Yet they call you back after your father met his end?" Elsa questioned.

"Yes, and many question my motives but whether you believe it or not unlike my father I am not blind by the ambition of power. I have grand designs for the universe, where no planets are destroyed or cannabalistic acts like the Komar." Lotor said to them as they made their way through the caves. "In my absence I have sought alliances with other worlds to create a better Galra empire one not blinded by power or ambition."

"Yet you choose to trust Ingrid? Do you even know what she wants from here?" Elsa questioned.

Lotor had to admit the Ice Queen does raise a valid point, he still had no idea of Ingrid's intentions or what it was they were seeking through these artefacts. At the same time Elsa wondered about the Galran Prince did he truly have noble intentions for the universe. She did remember how one should not be defined by blood or ones lineage. Kieth had to admit he wasn't sure what to think of all this, but would all this change once a certain relic comes into play?

Meanwhile: Galra Central Command: Haggar's sanctum:

Deep in the darkness of Haggar inner sanctum, the witch continued her studies of the casket the Snow Queen has taken an interest in. She had heard that Lotor was in the Emnios sector but had yet to hear back from the commander she sent to spy on him. Her focus right now was on the casket. Her spell tried to decipher its meaning, suddenly upon touching it she felt a sudden surge.

Flashing before her eyes were memories of a distant past life, namely of the Druul Empire and how many decaphebes ago discovered a certain crystal. Then the flashes showed the memories of another time in a certain kingdom that the Paladins of old had saved from the Druul years before the war. But what startled her most of all was the past memory of the crystal itself which glowed green and it was in the hands of a certain Snow Queen, and how she used her giant to fight Voltron.

Suddenly she shot awake from these visions and the spell vanished and the casket hit the ground with a loud crash. Haggar breathed vigorously in horror at what she had just seen. She knew exactly what this relic contained and why the Snow Queen had taken an interest in.

"No!" She breathed and hurried out of the sanctum.

Soon she arrived in the communication centre, and immediately got in touch with General Rott. "General, what is Lotors current location?" Haggar asked.

"I am still within the Emnios system, Prince Lotors battle cruiser is stationed at a nearby desolate planet." General Rott reported. "But Priestess there's more. The Paladins of Voltron are here also."

Haggars eyes widened, both Lotor and Paladins were on this planet but why? Regardless of the reasons she had to act to destroy them and this Snow Queen. "General contact the nearest fleet in that sector and send them your coordinates they are ordered to destroy the Paladins. No mercy." She ordered.

"Vrepitsa!" The General signed off the coms. Haggar just looked with glaring eyes, that her prince had no idea what this Snow Queen wanted to find yet alone unleash on the universe.

Elsewhere:

Meanwhile back on the destroyed planet, Lance and Allura continued their trek inside the caves. The light from the first key was now leading them up a small ridge towards a small opening. They passed through it and on the other side there was no sign of the key. They looked around, for a clue. Suddenly Allura noticed something.

"Lance over there!" Allura pointed and soon they finally found what they were looking for. Lying before them was the second key, the bottom of it was stuck in the solidified lava.

"There you are." Lance smiled as the two Paladins headed over to the key. They saw it was stuck in the solidified lava. Lance took his Bayard blaster and aimed it at the base. "Stand back." He warned Allura.

Allura stood back from the key as Lance started to blast around the centre of the base. The laser blasts broke apart the lava around the key. Lance's Bayard reverted to its base mode, and with two hands Lance tugged and pulled at the key eventually pulling it free from the ground. He fell on his back with a grunt.

He groaned as he sat up with the second key in hand. "Well got it out of the hard lava." He groaned. Allura came over as Lance got back on his feet. "Okay so now what do we do with it?"

Allura touched the top of the key hoping it would reveal the coordinates they needed. However when she touched the top of the key. Nothing happened, there was no light and no coordinates shining out.

"Uh shouldn't something be happening?" Lance asked.

"I…I don't understand." Allura wondered. "The keys respond to an Alteans touch. Somethings not right?"

"We'll figure it out later lets find Kieth and the others before…" However before Lance could finish that sentence.

"Hey over here there's light ahead." Called a voice the two Paladins looked and saw emerging from the opening they passed through was Axca, Narti and Zethrid. They spotted the Paladins in shock.

"What the! The Paladins!" Zethrid exclaimed. Axca noticed the artefact that Lance held in his hand.

"That must be the artefact we've come for stop them!" Axca exclaimed as she readied her laser blasters and the generals stood ready for battle. Just then Olaf popped up from behind them.

"Oh hi Lance hi Allura." Olaf cheered.

"Olaf?!" Lance said in surprise. In the moment Zethrid grabbed the little snowman by the body and held him up in the air like a trophy.

"Alright Paladins listen up! Unless you want this little squirts death on your hands, you'll give us those relics!" She exclaimed to them with deadly intent Olaf looked very scared.

"You hurt one stick on his head…" Lance trained his blaster on the generals but Allura stopped him.

"Lance please we can't risk it." Allura warned him and Lance just gritted his teeth in frustration. It seemed they were caught in a Mexican stand off it was a choice between either Olaf or the keys.

The two stared each other down with glaring eyes, it looked like there was no way out of this. However Allura looked and saw a potential light in the gloom. She silently nudged Lance getting his attention and motioned to what she was looking at. He looked and soon he had an idea.

"Okay okay!" Lance said raising his blaster and hands in the air. "You win." He said to which the Generals, Zethrid especially while Olaf looked rather worried. Suddenly out of nowhere Lance fired his blaster but the laser blast missed the Generals and hit the ceiling.

Axca and Narti looked rather befuddled by what just happened but Zethrid just cackled. "HAHAHAHA! Your supposed to be the great Paladins of Voltron? Your not a good shot."

"Oh and your not very smart." Lance smirked. "Cause it wasn't you I was aiming at."

Suddenly the Generals heard a crack above their heads and falling from the ceiling was a large boulder falling down towards them. "Oh Quiznak!" Zethrid grumbled.

Allura acted quickly and extended her Bayard chain which reached out and grabbed Olaf round the waist. And yanked him from Zethrids grasp just as the boulder fell and cut them off from the Paladins. Olaf landed in Allura's arms.

"Thank you Allura!" Olaf said hugging her.

"Your welcome my little friend." Allura laughed. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm okay, those Generals helped me find you and Narti was actually fun to talk to, same with Axca." Olaf said.

"Okay we need to talk about the people you talk to little guy." Lance said. "Now come on we better find Kieth and Elsa before Ingrid finds us." They nodded and with Olaf still in her arms, Allura ran out of the area right behind Lance.

Meanwhile in a far off area of the cave the unlikely paired trio of Kieth, Elsa and Prince Lotor. After trekking through the endless tunnels their efforts were rewarded. "Look." Elsa pointed and they saw a light shining in from above.

After climbing up the steep rocks they eventually emerged from a small crack in the ground above. They emerged out of the caves and back to the surface. Elsa carefully lifted Kieth out of the cave but took care not to further injure his leg and likewise he did the same.

"We made it." Elsa breathed a sigh of relief. She then looked to Lotor who looked at them.

"Now we are out this is where we part ways." Lotor said much to their surprise. "The lions are to the south you can make your way there and contact your team-mates from there."

"What about your generals?" Kieth questioned.

"They can look after themselves by now they will have made their way out of the cave." Lotor said. "I bid you both farewell." He was about to leave until.

"Lotor." Elsa called to him which made him stop in place. "Thank you. But word of advice, don't trust Ingrid, do you know what she's after?"

"No, why should it be of significance?" Lotor asked with hidden intrigue.

"What she's after could lead to something that could lead the entire universe to destruction, it made her what she is consumed by hate." Elsa explained to him. "If you truly meant what you said about wanting peace in the universe don't trust her."

"You said a leader knows the smart decision, so one new leader to another. Make the right one." Kieth also advised.

Lotor just looked at them, and he could see the seriousness in their eyes. This all but confirmed what he already suspected, that Ingrid was hiding something from him. "Your opinion is noted." Lotor simply said as he walked away silently.

Minutes later Elsa and Kieth were heading in the direction that Lotor suggested. Kieth limped along with the Ice Queen supporting him, they traveled slow, but this would make them venerable to a surprise attack. At last they found what they were looking for. They arrived back at the cave entrance where the speeders were located.

"Look Kieth, the Speeders." Elsa said with hope and Kieth looked relieved despite the pain. "We're almost there."

They closed in on the Black Speeder and it looked like they were safe. Suddenly Kieth felt a sharp pain in his side, Elsa looked with horrified eyes as the two looked and saw a spike of ice pierced right in Kieth's side soaked in blood. They turned and saw Ingrid standing behind them being the one responsible for the ice spike she was covered in dust and soot. She bore a sadistic mutual smile.

The spike was pulled from Kieth and he lost all feeling in his body and he fell to the ground much to Elsa's horror. "Kieth!" She cried in horror as she crouched down and tried to stop the bleeding by coating it with ice.

"Kieth stay with me your alright!" Elsa said with tears in her eyes and the new Black Paladin just looked at her barely conscious. The Ice Queen looked at him and to her this was like when Shiro was wounded by her under Haggar's influence. She even saw Shiro in Kieth's place before she saw Kieth again.

"My little snowflake." The Snow Queen said approaching them with her ice staff at the ready. "Do you know how much of those caves I had to climb through to get out of there?" She asked. "Now I find you here."

Elsa just looked at Ingrid with hateful eyes. "Why did you do that!" She demanded.

"Because, his kind will never accept us and the only way for magic kind like us to be free we must take action." Ingrid said. "Why should you care? He is no one we are better than that, its time you accept this power we share you are me Elsa."

Elsa tried to tune out what she was saying, and seeing Kieth bleeding out in front of her made her remember what he said to her in the caves. She stood up and looked at Ingrid with a defiant glare.

"You're wrong, I am nothing like you." Elsa said to her. "You know why because I accept who I am and I know how to love that saved me, the love that my sister had for me to one day have us reunite us! You had that with my mother but you threw it away because you let your fears guide you! You let that stone you seek corrupt your mind she tried to help you because she still loved you!"

Ingrid just glared, knowing somehow that Elsa knew her history with the past Paladins and "NO! Your mother hated me she called me a monster! She let Alfor seal me away! I intend to make it right to have a world where magic kind is free from those who fear us!"

"You did that to yourself Ingrid! You had a second chance with me and Anna but you chose to throw it away!" Elsa exclaimed. "You neglected Anna because of your own fears, fear is what can't be trusted! You are incapable of loving anything! All this time I've been afraid of being like you, but I am not this power is my own! Its my power and my gift and I use it to protect those I love."

Elsa stood strong in front of her friend. Kieth smiled slightly knowing she took what he said to heart. Just then she held her hand out and her magic began to surge in her hand. "And since I've started to remember things, you know what else I've remembered?" Ice magic began to swirl in her right hand and forming in the ice was the shape. Of a Bayard that Elsa now held in her hand, which took the shape of a staff.

"So you remembered what I taught you, you are my niece after all." Ingrid smirked.

Elsa however glared differently. "No…I'm a Paladin!"

Ingrid formed her scepter and fired an ice blast towards Elsa, who quickly dodged out of the way and twirled her staff then fired a wave of ice back at her aunt who blocked it with a shield of ice. The Ice Queen slammed the tip of her staff into the ground sending ice spikes through the ground which took Ingrid by surprise blasting her back then suddenly to see something else. For then out of nowhere Elsa used her magic to create something out of her ice, and what formed before them was what looked like an ice version of the Black Lion which roared at Ingrid before letting loose a blast of ice. Ingrid quickly blocked the blast but she couldn't hold it back and she ended up being blasted to the ground.

The Snow Queen got up and looked at Elsa but surprisingly she couldn't help but look proud. "Oh Elsa I am proud you've finally let go, now only if you could see that my way we can be a family."

"I already have a family and its not with you!" Elsa exclaimed.

Ingrid was about to reply back, when out of nowhere came a laser blast she turned and saw Lance and Allura with Olaf and the two keys in hand. The new Red Paladin fired upon the Snow Queen. She glared but saw the two relics in the Altean Princesses possession but she came to the reality that she had no chance of getting them. So she conjured a large snowstorm and vanished without a trace.

"Elsa!" Lance and Olaf called and arrived to find her, they were taken completely by surprise to see the ice lion that she'd created. Even more surprised to see her staff revert to the Ice Bayard.

"Since when could you do that?" Lance asked in complete surprise.

"Just something I remembered." Elsa breathed in relief. However they heard a loud groan from behind them and she looked in horror as she remembered. "Kieth!" She cried as she went over to him with Lance and Allura behind her.

The two looked in horror seeing Kieth had been stabbed in the back by the Snow Queen, they saw the blood from his side in his ice pack that Elsa had made for him. "Oh man Kieth!" Lance said as he looked over him.

"What happened?" Allura asked.

"Ingrid she took us by surprise and stabbed Kieth in the back when we weren't looking." Elsa said to her.

"That son of a…." Lance growled.

"Calm down Lance." Groaned a voice and they looked to see Kieth as he tried to get up.

"Kieth your okay!" Olaf cheered.

"Yeah gah thanks to Elsa." Kieth said in gratitude to which Elsa smiled.

However they weren't out of the woods yet looking at Kieth he'd lost a lot of no time to lose Allura contacted the Castle of Lions. "Coran come in."

"Allura. Oh thank the ancients, I've been trying to contact you for doboshes now." Coran called on the coms in relief.

"We were underground, we couldn't get a signal out when we were ambushed by Lotor and the Snow Queen." Allura reported.

"What about the key?" Coran asked.

"We've recovered it but Kieth is badly wounded, prepare a healing pod immediately." Allura then said before cutting the com line.

Lance keeled down and helped his team leader to his feet. "Easy Kieth I got you, we'll have to carry the Black Lion back with Blue and Red." He suggested.

"No." Kieth groaned in pain. "I maybe wounded but I can still fly." He said holding his side. However Allura and Lance weren't convinced and neither was Elsa.

"Elsa you'll have to go with Kieth and help him." Allura ordered. Elsa nodded in agreement and they headed to their respective speeders.

Moments later the three lions launched from the planet and headed back to the Castle of Lions. While covertly Lotor had regrouped with his Generals and Ingrid. They too were returning to Lotors battle cruiser.

Back on the castle Kieth was immediately placed inside a healing pod, which sealed up and began healing his injuries. Elsa, Olaf and Allura stood outside while the Ice Queen could only look with worry.

"Is he going to be okay?" Elsa asked.

"Relax Elsa, this is Kieth he's tough, he'll pull through." Lance said with a comforting hand on her shoulder. While Elsa just looked at him with a crooked eyebrow remembering the rivalry between the two Paladins. "If you ever tell him I said that I'll deny it." He joked.

Suddenly an alarm went blaring off all over the castle. "Oh man now what!" Lance exclaimed in surprise.

Seconds later Allura, Lance, Elsa and Olaf arrived on the bridge to see Coran with a panicked look on his face. "Coran whats happening?" Allura asked.

"We've got company!" Coran exclaimed and when they looked at the outside view they saw why. For appearing like a flash of light out of warp space was a large Galra fleet consisting of six warships and pouring out of them endless Galra fighters who upon seeing the Altean ship. Open fired with energy blasts.

"Coran raise particle barrier!" Allura ordered and seconds later the Particle barrier now surrounded the Castle. The laser shots bounced off it or absorbed the energy however the Warships readied their ion cannons and fired them at the particle barrier.

On the bridge the Paladins and their Arenellian friends felt the force of the impact. "Gahhh"

"We're sitting ducks!" Lance exclaimed. "How'd they find us so quick?!"

Allura realised there was only one explanation. "Lotor he must have called in the Galra patrols in this sector!"

Elsa just couldn't believe it Lotor saved her and Kieth only to later destroy them with a Galra fleet? Why? In the tunnels he seemed so sincere about his story and now this happens.

However on said Princes battle cruiser the occupants were quite surprised by the sudden arrival of this Galra fleet. "Where the heck did they come from?" Ezor exclaimed. "I mean we made sure not to give away our position."

"Somehow I doubt they even know we are here." Axca guessed. "Otherwise they would've hailed us."

"Lotor why did you call these reinforcements? I do not want your empire to know of what I seek!" Ingrid exclaimed to him.

"Calm yourself, I did not order this attack. Though I can suspect who did." Lotor glared he already suspected who was behind this but how they were found was a different story.

Castle of Lions:

On the Castle the monitors on the bridge lit up with alerts and red lights. "The barrier won't be able to withstand this attack, and the fighters are pouring out like a pack of Yelmores!" Coran exclaimed.

"What do we do?!" Elsa exclaimed.

"Coran try and contact Hunk and Pidge we're going to need Voltron!" Allura exclaimed taking up her station as she tried to contact the two absent Paladins.

Elsewhere:

In a far off quadrant of space the Yellow Lion flies smoothly through the nebula. Hunk and Pidge had completed their mission on the planetoid, and they had found Kristof who had been stranded on the planetoid after waking from the same ice cocoon the Paladins had found Elsa in. Sven was all but delighted to see him again, and with an added bonus the one who found the Ice Master in the cocoon was Pidge's brother Matt Holt, the latter of which had left before Pidge and Hunk arrived.

"Okay guys so what do we do now?" Kristoff asked the two Paladins.

"Lets call Allura and let her know we've found you Kristof and maybe a clue to what happened to Anna." Pidge suggested.

"Right, man Elsa will be glad to see you pal." Hunk said happily. Kristof was glad to know that Elsa was okay, and hopefully soon they would be able to find Anna too.

"Hunk, Pidge come in please!" Suddenly Allura's voice called out over the com line.

"Allura, wha..whats going on? Everything okay?" Hunk asked alerted.

"We've recovered the second key, but we're under heavy attack from the Galra, we need you here now!" Allura exclaimed on the com line.

"Copy that Allura we're on our way!" Pidge exclaimed.

"That doesn't sound good."Kristof said with worry and Sven simply gulped at the notion.

"It never is." Hunk said grimacing. Seconds later a wormhole opened and the Yellow Lion flew straight into it, and it sealed shut behind them.

The wormhole reopened in the Emnios sector, but when the Yellow Lion exited the wormhole they were instantly caught in the crossfire of the attacking Galra fleet.

"WHOA!" Hunk yelled as he swiftly pulled the control sticks to narrowly avoid the laser blasts.

"Oh great out of the frying pan and into the fire!" Kristof exclaimed.

"Still missed us?" Pidge asked.

"Yeah just like old times!" Kristof exclaimed the group looked and saw the Castle of Lions had the particle barrier up to defend itself and fired laser blasts from it to retaliate.

Suddenly Allura called in on the com line showing the bridge. "Hunk, Pidge your here!"

"Yeah just in the nick of time whats going on?" Pidge asked.

Just then Olaf and Elsa noticed a certain someone with them. "Its Kristof!" Olaf cheered happily. "Elsa they found Kristof!"

"Olaf? Is that you what are you doing here?" Kirtsof asked and Elsa was all but relieved to see Kristof was with Pidge and Hunk and was okay.

"No time for reunions." Lance said taking charge. "Hunk get Pidge to the Castle so she can get to her lion, Allura and I will cover you with our lions."

"But Lance, Kieth's injured with out him we don't have the Black Lion." Elsa reminded them knowing they'd need all five lions.

"No Black Lion, which means." Olaf soon came to the same conclusion. "You won't be able to form Voltron!"

"We don't have a choice, we won't last long here, we'll just have to fight with what we have." Allura then said.

Everyone present could see the risks, with Kieth out of action they had no one to fly the Black Lion, and without that they couldn't form Voltron. However if they were surrounded and had no choice but to stand and fight. Elsa could see this was a no win situation.

Moments later the Blue and Red Lions emerged from their hangers in the Castle and flew into the battle field. They were instantly met with laser fire from the Galra Fighters, the two lions retaliated firing their jaw blasters to blast the fighters away. The Yellow Lion smashed its way though the fighters that surrounded it. All of a sudden Kristof saw a fighter coming in from the left.

"Hunk on your left!" He warned. The Yellow Lion was about to attack until suddenly a beam of energy beat them to it and it froze the fighters in ice. They looked and saw the Blue Lion had saved them.

"Whew thanks Allura!" Hunk cried with relief.

"Hunk get to the castle we'll cover you!" Lance called from the Red Lion as it formed its jaw blade and sliced through a fleet of fighters that was firing on it.

The Yellow Lion blasted forwards and made its way towards the Castle of Lions, but this didn't stop the Galra fighters from attacking. The Blue Lion swooped in and fired an energy blast from its jaw and destroyed the three incoming fighters.

This bought Yellow the opening it needed to reach the castle passing through the particle barrier and entered the hanger.

Seconds later Pidge, Kristof and Sven arrived on the bridge. "Kristof!" Elsa said happily as she embraced him in a hug which Kristof was happy to accept and Olaf got in on the hug too.

"Elsa you're here too this is great!" Kristof said happily. "Hey like the new look."

"Same to you." Elsa said happy to see her sisters boyfriend was alive and well.

"We missed you!" Olaf said hugging his leg.

"Good to have you back lad!" Coran greeted. "But right now we've got bigger problems."

"Yeah no time for reunions!" Pidge said as she hurried to the lift that lead to her lion.

The communication line from Allura and Lance opened. "Pidge you better get out here now we're losing ground!" Lance called.

"On my way!" Pidge entered the lift and the door closed behind her.

"Coran how's Kieth?" Allura asked.

"He's still in the healing chamber, he was badly wounded it takes time!" Coran reported.

"Wait Kieth?" Kristof asked. "Hold on why is Allura in the Blue Lion, and where's Shiro?" He frantically asked.

"Its a long story Kristof." Elsa explained to him.

"Send him out as soon as he's recovered! We'll do what we can." Lance said as the communication line closed.

"I'm back on this ship five minutes and we're already in a war zone." Kristof grimaced.

"Yes the madness our life has become." Coran moaned.

The Yellow and Green Lions soon joined the fight as the Fleet was gaining more ground on the Paladins. The Yellow Lion rammed into fighter after fighter and even crushing one that got caught in its jaw before tossing it into an incoming fighter.

The Green Lion formed its vine cannon and hit a fighter which encased it inside a vine cocoon to then explode soon after. A group of fighters attacked the Green Lion from the side but the lion retaliated by firing its jaw laser with a swift swoop destroying the fighters in one wave.

A distance away the Blue Lion was pursued by a squadron of fighters driving it towards the warship which readied its Ion cannon. Allura quickly pulled on the flight sticks and the lion performed a looped and fired its ice cannon on the fighters freezing them instantly. The Ion cannon fired but the blast hit the frozen fighters destroying them. However the shockwave sent the Blue Lion tumbling out of control. Allura finally managed to take control and stabilise the lion.

"This is insane." Allura breathed.

The Red Lion was under fire from a group of fighters and he was close to a warship. Lance pulled back and forward on the flight sticks. Red swiftly turned and fired its jaw laser at one fighter then formed its jaw blade and slashed straight through the remaining two. However he was shot by another fighter which knocked him off course another fighter was about to attack.

"Lance watch out!" Pidge exclaimed as the Green Lion swooped in and shielded red with the shield on its back. Yellow then rammed into the fighters destroying them.

"Whew nice save guys." Lance thanked in relief.

Castle of Lions:

On the bridge things didn't look good from their view the more fighters the Paladins destroyed the more came, and the warships bombardment of Ion Cannons wasn't helping either. While all Coran, Elsa, Kristof and Olaf could do was watch.

"Hunk cover the left!" Lance exclaimed on the coms.

"Allura heads up!" Pidge exclaimed on the coms.

"They've got me surrounded!" Hunk cried.

"Hold on Hunk I'm coming!" Allura exclaimed before the sound of an explosion and her screaming could be heard.

"Allura hang on!" Lance exclaimed.

Coran did his best to cover them with the Castles defences to less effect. "Coran there's got to be something we can do we can't just sit here the guys are getting pummelled!" Kristof exclaimed to him.

"You don't think I know that!" Coran yelled. "I'm trying to cover them with the castle defences but it won't last long!"

"Look out!" Pidge's voice called on the coms.

"We need Voltron!" Hunk yelled.

"Coran we need Kieth now!" Allura called.

"I can't his healing cycle isn't finished yet princess!" Coran called on the coms.

Olaf just looked with worry as did Kristof their friends were going against a full on Galra fleet and they were out gunned and unprepared. Without the Black Lion they had no hope of survival and very less hope of forming the Legendary Defender. Elsa could only watch in horror to see her friends, those she considered family getting killed out in this war zone. She had never felt so helpless.

"What can I do?" She said silently. However as she wondered what she could do, she remembered all that her friends had done and taught her. They had done so much for her and her family. It was then she made the decision to help them.

Out of nowhere she ran to the front of the bridge to man a certain station. "Elsa?" Olaf asked she ran passed Coran and Kristof who looked in surprise as she stood upon a certain station.

"Elsa what are you doing?" Coran asked.

"Where are you going?" Kristof asked.

Elsa looked to the two of them with determined eyes. "Whatever I can." She answered and the lift suddenly descended downwards.

The Black Lion stood silently in its hanger, seconds later in the cockpit Elsa now with her flight suit helmet on arrived in the control chair. She was faced with the flight sticks. Elsa wasn't lying to say she wasn't nervous, she wasn't even sure this would work as she looked all around the darkened cockpit. But she still had to try. So nervously she placed her hands on the flight sticks and closed her eyes.

"The more we take down the more come!" Hunks voice cried on the coms and Elsa cringed at hearing her distressed friends voices.

"I'm taking heavy fire I can't shake them!" Allura cried.

"Allura I'm coming in FORM JAW BLADE!" Lance exclaimed. Elsa tightened her grip on the flight sticks tensing up as ice formed around it.

"Watch out behind you!" Pidge exclaimed.

"A warships coming in does anyone have a shot?!" Hunk yelled.

"Negative I'm dead in the water!" Lance exclaimed.

"We need Voltron now!" Allura yelled.

"Coran is Kieth healed!" Pidge exclaimed.

"No he hasn't fully recovered yet!" Coran yelled. Elsa was cringing more and more at the sound of her friends in danger tears started to swell up in her eyes. Still there was no reaction from the Black Lion.

"Please." Elsa breathed. "I must help them, I can't just sit here and do nothing they're all I have left, they're risking their lives out there we need to help them! I already lost my sister I won't lose them too!"

The Black Lion stood silently and motionless. "Please…" She pleaded as she opened her eyes and looked out before she spoke. "Help me Shiro."

All was silent, then suddenly the lights on the front consoles flickered in a purple light giving a faint purple glow. Elsa suddenly felt a light from another console. She gasped with a surprised smile as the cockpit shot into life.

The Black Lions eyes surged in yellow and let loose a roar that echoed all through the castle.

Back outside the battle continued the Red Lion avoided another assault by the Galra fighters only to be blasted in the side by a blast from the warships Ion Cannon causing Lance to cringe from the shock.

The Blue Lion quickly swooped in and tried to attack only for the fighters to blast her in the side knocking it off course. The Yellow Lion attacked the fighters ramming into them only for more to arrive and bombard him with laser fire.

"This is slaughter!" Pidge exclaimed.

"Guys we're not getting anywhere, there's no way we can take on this fleet with only four lions!" Hunk exclaimed to his fellow Paladins from the Yellow Lion.

All seemed lost for the Paladins however their salvation was at hand. "You don't have to!" Called a voice on the coms. The Paladins eyes widened with a mixture of shock and amazement for they knew that voice but couldn't believe it.

"Elsa!" Allura cried.

"What!" Pidge cried in amazement.

"No way!" Hunk exclaimed.

"Alright!" Lance exclaimed with joy.

The Black Lion flew into the frame and roared out and flying it was none other than Elsa who looked with a smile of courage and determination. She thrusted the flight sticks forwards and the Lion swooped in with its jaw blade and cut straight through the Galra fighters which exploded soon after.

Elsa swiftly turned the flight sticks almost as if she knew what to do. Black turned and fired its jaw laser destroying an incoming fighter that was about to attack the Blue Lion. Black now flew between the four lions as they faced the fleet.

However Elsa knew what to do. "Everyone on me! Its time to FORM VOLTRON!"

"YEAH!" The other Paladins replied.

The lions came together as their Alpha gave out a roar, and each lion began disassembling and reassembling into their parts. Red and Green formed the arms, Blue and Yellow formed the legs and Black into the body and finally. "And I'll form the head!" Elsa exclaimed as the head emerged from the Black Lions. Voltron was formed and ready for battle.

From the Castle of Lions Olaf had wide eyes and was gasping with excitement and joy. "Elsa formed the head! ELSA FORMED THE HEAD!" He bounced up and down with and Kristof looked with wide eyes of amazement and shock, but how was this even possible?

Voltron charged into battle towards the fleet which fired their lasers upon him only for him to form his shield and deflect the blasts. The defender charged straight into a warship completely destroying it. He flew within the centre of a group of fighters closing in on him and he twirled with his arms out firing its arm lasers.

In the Black Lions cockpit Elsa was in a state of excitement and determination, but she wasn't alone the lion was helping to guide her every step of the way. "Yeah!"

Voltron grabbed an incoming Fighter and blasted it into the incoming fighters. However when they turned they looked to see a warship incoming.

"Hunk! FORM CANNON!" Elsa exclaimed.

"You got it!" Hunk yelled as he thrusted in his Bayard and activated Voltrons shoulder cannon and blasted a series of laser blasts towards the warship and its surrounding fighters, completely destroying them and the warship exploded.

However they weren't out of the woods yet, for the other warships were closing in. "Oh boy here they come!" Hunk exclaimed.

"We need to end this now!" Allura exclaimed.

Just when they needed an answer, the Bayard port in the Black Lion opened which got Elsa's attention. It was like the lion was trying to tell her something. In her hand she formed her ice Bayard in her hand.

"Guys I think I know what to do!" Elsa said. "The Black Lions telling me something."

"Yeah same with red." Lance said as Reds Bayard port was opened also.

"Me too." Hunk agreed from yellow.

"I feel it too." Allura said seeing the Blue Lions Bayard port opened.

"Same here." Pidge said from the Green Lion as its Bayard port was opened too.

Elsa looked forward at the battle field before her and it was almost as if Black was telling her what to do. "Lets do it!" She exclaimed.

The five Paladins thrusted their Bayards into the ports and with one twist Voltron began to glow in a white aura and he brought his hands together and as he pulled them apart he formed what looked like a staff, with a snowflake on the top made of Elsa's ice magic.

Voltron held the staff high in the air and out of nowhere clouds began gathering all around it and sparks of white energy began gathering around the tip of the staff. With one slash the staff unleashed a wave of energy which froze the fighters and the warships to ice completely frozen in place.

"Yes!" Pidge cheered.

"Yeah!" Lance cheered.

"WHOOO!" Hunk cheered.

"Well done Elsa!" Allura cheered.

In the cockpit of the Black Lion the ice Queen breathed a sigh of relief and pride, she'd done it she helped her friends and protected them. She looked up with a warm smile. "Thanks Black." She said and the Black Lion's growl could be heard in her head. "That was for you Shiro."

From the bridge of the Castle of Lions, Coran and Kristof breathed a sigh of relief to know the worst was over. Olaf was happy as was Sven. They didn't even notice that Keith was already out of the healing chamber and he'd just seen what had transpired.

"Thats our girl." Kieth smiled with pride looking up to the stars. "Huh Shiro?"

Galra Central Command:

Within the dark sanctum of Haggar's lair, the witch was alone. Suddenly she heard the sound of footsteps enter her sanctuary, she looked and saw thrown at her feet was a robotic arm. One that belonged to General Rott and the one who delivered it was Lotor who stood in the sanctum. It seemed after the failed mission in the Emnios system Lotor had found how the Galra fleet had found them.

"Stop sending your cronies after me!" He said to her.

"I know many ideas flow through your head, just like your father." Haggar simply addressed the prince. "But the Galra Empire needs your leadership in these troubling times."

"I AM THE LEADER!" Lotor proclaimed indignantly as he was about to walk away he addressed the witch with his last words. "But I am not my father."

The Prince was about to walk out of the sanctum. "Prince Lotor." Haggar said getting his attention. "Be weary of your alley, the power she seeks is something long forgotten and could jeopardise the empire."

Lotor knew she was referring to his ally the Snow Queen but he knew from his encounter with Queen Elsa and the Paladins in the Emnios system about her intentions. He wasn't sure of the relic she sought.

"What power?" Lotor simply asked not looking at the witch.

"One used by the Druul long ago before your father wiped them from existence." Haggar voiced.

This made Lotor wonder more of the relic, he did remember something from his mothers old notes on a relic related to the Druul she studied years ago. "Your concern is noted witch, but I shall tend to my own affairs, you attend yours. For if I recall my father is late in recovery from his death bed. Something to do with the medical care around here."

Lotor simply left the room leaving Haggar with a glaring suspicious look, she knew the nature of the relic. Yet the acting leader of the Galra seemed to be neglecting the threat and his empire.

Castle of Lions:

In the castle reck room Kieth now fully recovered and with his fellow Paladins, Elsa, Kristof, Sven and Olaf looked down as on the table were the two Altean keys they'd recovered so far However for now Kristof had finished explaining his side of the story for what happened with Ingrid.

"And well thats the last thing I remember I don't know what happened to Anna after that." Kristof explained to them.

Elsa felt a little saddened at the fact that she still had no clues as to Anna's whereabouts. "Its okay Kristof, your okay, and if your in this universe Anna must be too she's alive I know it." She said.

"I know it too." Kristof smiled. "But it seems I've missed out on a lot. Zarkon's dead, he has a son, Elsa and Anna's crazy aunt is here and trying to find lost Altean stuff, and she's doing this to find some stone that can make people hate each other that the original Paladins found when they came to Arendelle years ago." He then let out a breath.

"Welcome to our world man." Lance chuckled.

"Oh and guys I..I'm so sorry about Shiro." Kristof said as he knew from the others that Shiro was missing.

"Thanks Kristof but if we found you I know we can find him and Anna too." Kieth agreed.

"Yeah, and hey two keys down one to go." Hunk said looking down at the two Altean tech keys.

"Yes, but I have a feeling getting the coordinates out of this one could be tricky, you said it didn't reveal them when you touched it Princess?" Coran said studying the key.

"I'm afraid so but I'm not sure why." Allura wondered.

"Maybe its a security measure?" Pidge wondered.

"Well whatever it is we can solve it together." Olaf said positively.

Kieth couldn't help but smile at the small snowman's enthusiasm, he wouldn't admit it he was starting to grow on him. He then looked over to Elsa. "Elsa..I..I wanted to thank you for saving my life."

"Your welcome." Elsa smiled warmly. "Thank you for believing in me, and reminding me that I'm not bound to Ingrid's fate. I know now I can decide my own fate and my own destiny."

"And thats why your different from your aunt, Elsa. Its why we'll find Anna." Allura agreed with a comforting hand on her shoulder. Elsa put her hand on hers too.

"But seriously Elsa, you and the Black Lion!" Pidge said excitedly. "How cool is that!"

"Yeah and how the heck did you make that Ice Bayard and its power?!" Lance asked amazed by this development.

Elsa just looked very bashful as she blushed a little. "Well I couldn't just sit by and let you guys get killed, but I wasn't sure I could do it but I did."

"I think its because the Black Lion recognises a leader when it sees one." Kieth explained. "Its something Shiro saw in you."

"Kieth is right, the Black Lion recognised you wanting to put your friends before yourself and your determination to stand up for whats right with courage and sacrifice." Allura explained. "That is the quality of a leader, one you have Elsa. Just like Shiro."

"Plus if I recall the Black Lion saved you when you and Shiro were at the mercy of Zarkon." Coran recalled.

Elsa did smile at her friends admiration and confidence and she had to admit they were right, long ago she never would've stood up to people like Zarkon, Sendak, Hans or even Haggar. But since meeting the Paladins she's gained more confidence in this whole journey.

"As for the Bayard I don't know it was something I remembered when Ingrid taught me to use my powers to make constructs to focus my power through or even make ice beings other than snowmen." Elsa said. "It kinda makes me wonder what else I could do?"

Allura then stepped forwards. "Well if you wish to discover that Elsa, I could help you, when your ready."

"I'd like that." Elsa agreed. "Because if we run into Ingrid again we need to be ready."

"Right because now we have the two keys she'll become more desperate to find the last key. We need to be ready for what other surprises may come next." Keith said.

Hours later:

The Black Lion of Voltron was gliding through a purple nebula, Kieth was out on patrol of a sector of space. He was hoping he'd might be able to find clues about Anna's whereabouts while Pidge and Hunk worked to crack the second key to get the next set of coordinates. So far all was quiet. Suddenly without warning the lions eyes glowed and it let out a roar which caught Kieth by surprise in the cockpit it was almost as if Black had sensed something.

"Wha..what is it?" Kieth asked. A screen then showed up showing a radar and it seemed to show a signal of some kind. In that moment he had a realisation as to what or who the lion had found.

"We've found him."

Moments later a wormhole opened into a sector of space with the Black Lion leading in front of the Castle of Lions. In front of them was a Galra fighter that was deactivated and lifeless in space.

In the castle Elsa had been resting in her quarters when suddenly she saw Lance and Hunk running down the hall fast and excited. She wondered what this was about so she followed them down to the hanger bay.

She soon arrived in the hanger bay as the Black Lion had returned and kneeled down as Keith exited, but he wasn't alone. He helped someone out of the cockpit and the minute the other Paladins and Allura saw the mans face, they ran over in amazement and shock as they gathered round him.

"H..How is this possible!" Hunk asked.

"You okay man?" Lance asked.

"Guys give him some space." Kieth chuckled.

Allura looked and saw Elsa was in the room so she motioned to the other Paladins who noticed her in the hanger. So they all stood aside.

Elsa walked over to who they were speaking to, but who she saw, was someone she wasn't prepared for. It was a man dressed in a baggy gray and orange space suit with a spiked shoulder pad on his right arm. He had long messed up black hair with white in the centre. However the face she knew all to well with the scar across his nose, but with beard stubs growing from his face.

He looked up from his baggy eyes and saw the Ice Queen who stood before him, while Elsa had a look of joyful shock on her face. Tears welled up in her eyes.

"Sh…Shiro." She breathed.

Shiro stood on his own but was limping a little due to an injury in his leg as he looked at Elsa with joyful eyes of his own. "Elsa?" He gasped in joy.

"Shiro!" Elsa ran to him and he to her and they embraced in a warm comforting hug as tears streamed down her face with joy. Shiro was surprised a little but enjoyed the embrace.

Kieth, Lance, Hunk, Pidge, Coran and Allura looked all happy at this heartwarming scene. Kieth looked the happiest of all for he had found his brother figure, and helped his friend reunite with one she cared about, he was all but happy for them both.

"Y…you came back to me." Elsa said with tears.

A lone tear streamed down Shiro's face as he embraced her. "Always." He breathed.

It was clear that there were many questions of what circumstances lead to this moment, how was this possible? What happened after the battle with Zarkon? But for now everyone chose to enjoy this happy day of reunions.

Authors Notes: And...scene! Thats that chapter done, the Paladins have secured the second key, but now they need to figure out how to make it show the coordinates to the third, plus Kristof is now back with the crew, and Elsa has flown the Black Lion and formed Voltron! And a surprise reunion no less.

Now as some reviews had suspected it was always my plan to have Elsa pilot the Black Lion at somepoint in this story, and what better way then when the Paladins were in a life or death situation and their leader was injured. Also a moment of concerns and worries among Allura and Elsa, be it wondering how to deal with Ingrid without sealing her away again or Elsa fearing that she is bound to her aunts fate. Glad to see that they've had good friends to resolve this with them in their own ways.

Next chapter may take a while but it'll be worth the wait so for now. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year folks.
