Authors Notes: I'M BACK JACK! Sorry for the late update, I'm currently swamped with work at my freelance work at the moment plus I've had a bit of a writing block so I needed a bit of a break to give birth to new ideas, and who knows maybe new stories in the making. But now without further delay lets begin. I DON'T OWN THE CHARACTERS THIS IS JUST FOR FUN!

:Confliction:
In the darkness of a yellow coloured nebular, the Castle of Lions flew silently through the silence of space. Events are now looking up for the Defenders of the Universe and their Arendellian allies. They had retrieved the third and final key from the Balmera and with all three united they now had the location of the Shattered Eye in the Nyrox Nebula. There they would go to find the cursed stone and destroy it forever. However the key was not the only thing our heroes had managed to acquire.
Down in the depths of the Castle holding cells, Shiro, Keith, Allura and Elsa descended on an elevator. They all bore serious and stone expressions, Elsa was the most focused of all for she knew what was coming, and a part of her was not looking forward to it. The elevator doors opened and before them in a lone holding cell was Ingrid, the Snow Queen who the Paladins had taken prisoner after Lotor and his generals abandoned her on the Balmera.
She sat in her cell playing with her powers forming a small snowflake. She lay on the bed in the cell, and then she felt the presence of her arriving visitors. "Well well, look who's come to visit." She said as she sat up. She took note of the three Paladins and especially her niece.
"Ah Elsa come to visit your dear Aunt, I knew you would come to your senses." Ingrid said to her in fake loving tones.
"Don't give me any of that Ingrid, you maybe my aunt but I'm not you! So don't try preaching." Elsa said glaring at her.
"Oh how clever, you have grown must be in the bad company you keep." Ingrid said glaring at the Paladins. "They fear me just as they will one day fear you, and sooner or later you'll be in this prison with me."
"Keep your empty delusions to yourself." Kieth glared then Shiro stepped forwards.
"We have questions for you Ingrid." Allura told her.
"Oh well by all means ask away." Ingrid said laid back.
"So now you want to be all nice?" Elsa asked.
"For you my little snowflake, thats all I ever wanted I don't think you quite understand." Ingrid said.
"We don't care what you want!" Kieth said trying to stay calm.
"We want to know where Anna is?" Shiro got to the point.
"Ugh we're back to this again." Ingrid scoffed.
"She's alive, we know it." Elsa said to her. "We saw my memories of what you were trying to do to me and how a light saved us and sent me to the Paladins. We found Kristof so if he's here so is she."
Ingrid just kept a teasing smile on her face. "A bright light, a blast from the past and finding ice boy, sounds like someones grasping at straws in a vain hope of finding a long lost sister."
"Where is she?" Elsa asked impatiently.
"Honestly I don't think you should care, I told you she's the odd one out she would never accept me, us for what we are just like your mother I just don't know why you would want to find someone like that." Ingrid shrugged.
"No I saw my memories she never did any of that, your just lying." Elsa said getting more angry. Allura could see what Ingrid was trying to do as did Kieth and Shiro.
"Or your just lying to yourself and in reality you admit your sister like your mother couldn't handle what you, what we are." Ingrid said.
"NO!" Elsa said slamming on the cell door and her palm froze most of it.
"Elsa." Allura pulled her away from the cell as she and Shiro took her aside. Kieth kept watch on Ingrid. "She's trying to get under your skin don't let your emotions cloud your judgement."
"She knows what happened to Anna." Elsa argued.
"We know that, but the best way we can get those answers is to stay calm and don't let her push any buttons." Shiro said to her. Elsa took a minute to clam down and realised they were right. She sighed and nodded towards her friends. They then joined Kieth.
"You can cut the pointless mind games Ingrid, we know about why you want the Shattered Eye, and your past Coran told us." Kieth told her.
"Oh really." Ingrid stood up with a teasing smile. "Did he also tell you how your predecessor sealed me away in an iced rock for so many years."
"You brought that upon yourself Ingrid." Allura then told her. "My father and your sister tried to help you but you gave into your fears and whatever mark the eye left upon you."
Ingrid could only chuckle. "Oh my dear sweet Allura your just as naive as your father trying to preach to me." Ingrids expression then turned sour. "The eye showed me the truth, the truth of how the world really sees those with magic, as monsters that should be destroyed the same monsters that robbed me of my family and those left trapped behind a wall of mist! It showed me what I needed to do, I want to create a world where magic kind will no longer be feared or have to hide who we truly are!" She yelled as the Paladins listened.
"All your father and his comrades wanted to do was confine me and make me hide who I am just as my so called sister and Agnarr did with your powers Elsa." Ingrid said. "You say I'm corrupted oh no I'm liberated."
"By killing thousands of innocent people who did nothing to you." Kieth glared. "Well guess what, whatever you want isn't going to happen."
"Using a dangerous relic to kill thousands of people in this universe all so you can have me and be your so called perfect family, when all this time you could've had that with me and Anna." Elsa said to her.
"Oh well it looks like you have all the answers." Ingrid simply shrugged. "But what does it matter you gathered those key devices that obviously lead you to the stone and you stopped me."
"Yeah we did, but once we destroy the eye you will be brought back to Arendelle and let the Stone trolls decide what to do with you." Shiro told her.
"Oh by sealing me away again." Ingrid snorted before turning to Elsa. "You see they fear what we are and that is why you should be with me Elsa because you are like me and the world even those you call your so called family will never accept you."
"Your wrong they love me for who I am and accepting my powers." Elsa disagreed glaring.
Ingrid however maintained her smile. "So you haven't seen them flinch at your powers, they haven't once been distant by what you can do or even intimidated. They hide their fear just so you are accepted just like how your sister does now and those in Arendelle who got what they deserved."
Kieth had just about enough of this, he clenched his fist hearing the words she was saying to his friend. Then all of a sudden he formed his Bayard sword and pointed it at the prisoner. "ENOUGH! We're getting what we want out of you! One way or another!"
Elsa and those present were quite surprised to see this side of Kieth. Shiro wasn't as he'd seen this before when they first went to Olkarion and saw Lobo's true motives. However all Ingrid did was lightly scoff.
"Don't make me laugh boy, you don't think I know an empty threat when I see one." She scoffed.
Kieth growled like a rabid animal ready to attack, however Shiro placed his hand on his arm. "Kieth no." Kieth looked at his friend with a look in his eyes telling him not to give in to her mind tricks as he shook his head. He looked to Elsa who nodded telling him to listen to his brother figure.
So with a calming breath he lowered his weapon but maintained a glare of contempt at their prisoner. "You know what your not worth it, and you know you thought you knew what's best for everyone and that you were so much smarter than us Ingrid." He said to her. "But in the end you lost, and when last I checked your the one on the cage not us."
However Ingrid didn't look one bit intimidated or even phased by those words at all. "Are you sure?" She simply said. Without another word said the Paladins, and Ice Queen left the prison leaving the captive Snow Queen completely alone.
The Bridge:
Everyone was gathered on the Castle bridge. "She's refusing to cooperate." Shiro explained.
"What else is new bad guys never spill their secrets when they've lost." Lance shrugged.
"Lance this is serious." Kieth sternly reminded him.
"I know you don't think I want her to tell us about where Anna is too?" Lance said a little sternly.
"Enough." Shiro called them to order.
"She knows where Anna is I know it, she knows something about that bright light we saw in my memories." Elsa said to them rubbing her arms.
"If she does Elsa, I mean we all saw that too she was surprised by it too." Kristof recalled from seeing the memory from the other side of the totality.
"Well maybe if we ask nicely she might tell us." Olaf suggested with optimism.
"I don't think she's the warm and fuzzy type little guy." Hunk said unsure.
"Guys look I know finding Anna is important but Ingrid can't be reasoned with we've all seen it. I say we just turn her over to the Blades and let them handle her." Kieth suggested.
Everyone was quite surprised by their new leaders suggestion. "Kieth thats a little cold even for you." Hunk said.
"If we turn her to the Blades we'll never know where Anna is." Elsa disagreed with him.
"Look I'm not saying I like the idea, and yeah I do want to find Anna but every minute Ingird is on this ship she's a danger to everyone of us including Elsa." Kieth explained.
"Hate to admit it but he does have a point, she's a master manipulator we've all seen it." Kristof agreed.
"What you agree with him don't you want to find Anna?!" Pidge exclaimed.
"I do Pidge I want to find her more than anything you think I'm not worried about her too!" Kristof exclaimed back at her.
The two suddenly started arguing between each other, and Elsa was begining to feel tense with all this arguing. Until finally. "ENOUGH!" Elsa unleashed a wall of ice spikes between the two of them which finally made them stop. Everyone was taken completely by surprise and even Pidge had a hint of fear in her eyes as she was close to the spike. Elsa felt a slight hint of regret for doing that and calmed down and when she did the spiked ice wall fell.
"Please, arguing is getting us nowhere." She then said more calmly. Everyone fell silent trying to think of a solution to get their prisoner to cooperate. Unbeknownst to everyone Hunk did have an idea but wasn't sure he wanted to divulge it.
"Okay guys look, you know I'd be the last person to suggest something like this but…" Hunk began and everyone listened. "…well, why don't we just do what we did to Sendak?"
"What blast him out of an airlock?" Lance asked.
"No." Hunk answered.
"Launch him in a pod into space?" Olaf then asked.
"No no." Hunk shook his head and hands. "I mean why don't we just hook Ingrid up to the Altean memory extractor, then we can see her memories and find out what we need."
Everyone was surprised as to why they hadn't considered that option yet. After all it did have its benefits when they used it on Sendak learning valuable intel and lead them to a Quintessence production facility. However Coran thought differently on the subject.
"Oh for Grogery's sake how many times do I have to say it! That device is for keeping Altean memories alive not interrogating prisoners!" Coran protested.
"We know that Coran but thanks to that we helped Elsa remember what happened to her, Kristof and Anna and we gained valuable intel into Ingrid's plans." Keith disagreed. "She won't talk freely this maybe our only option right now."
"I do agree it had its benefits, but at the very least we should consider that as a means of last resort." Shiro then voiced.
"What? But…" Kieth tried but then Allura stepped forward.
"Shiro is right, if we tamper with her mind then we're no better than her or Zarkon." Allura then explained. "If we can try to reason with her on an emotional level maybe she'll cooperate."
"Allura no disrespect but she's too far gone for that." Kieth disagreed then turned to Shiro. "Let me interrogate her give me an hour she'll talk."
"Kieth I don't like it, she'll try to get under your skin." Shiro disagreed.
"He has a point Kieth she's a master manipulator we all know that." Elsa agreed.
"I can see through her tricks, I'll be fine trust me." The new Black Paladin told them and looked to Shiro he didn't like the idea but knew that Keith did have experience with interrogation.
Shiro let out a deep sigh before coming to a decision. "Okay Kieth, just be careful."
Kieth nodded and left the bridge, Elsa couldn't help but look in concern for what he was going to do. "Hey." Lance then said to Elsa. "Don't worry Kieth's as tough as they come he'll get her to crack." He said with conviction in his voice, though he wouldn't admit it he knew Kieth's intense methods sometimes had their uses, and this maybe one of those times.
"In the meantime we better get moving we've got to reach the Eyes location." Allura then said as Coran went to his station and typed in the coordinates. The Altean Princess then stood at her station and focussing through the crystal the Castle opened the wormhole and they blasted away to their next destination.
Elsewhere:
In the far off corners of the galaxy The Galra Central Command ship lingered in silence. Within Haggars sanctum she was sitting in a circle of purple flames and below her was a dark Altean mandala her eyes shot open in a dark purple glow. Then before her was what seemed to be a window made of dark magic. Within the window she could see something, that something was Lotor, Axca, Zethrid and Ezor.
"It would seem our allies ploy worked as she predicted." Lotor said to his generals.
Lotors Command Ship:
Narti listened to what her prince was telling her and her fellow generals as Kova sat on her shoulder. "I don't get it I thought we decided to ditch her anyway if she's planning something with this wild Yelemore chase she has us on!" Zethrid questioned.
"Yes, and we have played our parts well." Lotor said with his back facing his generals. "Let Ingrid enact her plans, however when they come to fruition that is when we show our hand."
Haggars sanctum:
"Do we still have the Paladins location?" Lotor asked Axca.
"The tracker we placed on Ingrid is showing they are currently traveling via wormhole once they arrive at their destination we will have a precise fix." Axca answered.
Haggar eyes widened in surprise. As the window vanished she began to realise the game that was a foot. She already figured out what his so called ally sought and remembered it from a past life she'd long forgotten. Just then she felt a presence behind her.
"What is it?" Haggar asked as standing behind her was Commander Morvak.
"Ahem yes uh you summoned me High Priestess? Your not…busy are you?" Morvok asked.
"Commander Morvok. I have reason to believe that The Paladins of Voltron have uncovered a long lost weapon that could have the capabilities to eradicate the Galra Empire." Haggar told him without turning round. "I want you to track Prince Lotor but do not hail him, keep your distance and as soon as they locate the Paladins terminate them with extreme prejudice."
Morvok gulped as he was rather hesitant. "Ah well yes but surely my talents would lie in aiding the Empire and…"
"Are you disobeying my wishes! For the day our Emperor emerges from his deathbed his will still remains!" Haggar hissed which more than sent a shiver down Morvoks spine.
"Ah yes of course High Priestess I follow Emperor Zarkon's will I shall conquer and destroy for the will of the Galra Empire! Vrepitsa!" Morvok saluted with his arm across his chest and then took his leave.
Haggar was then alone in thought, for there was something that was something else on her mind besides Ingrid or the relic she sought. It was the current state of the Galra Empire as its current Monarchy was neglecting his duties for his own agenda. If left under his leadership the Empire would surely crumble, there was one thing she could do but she was hesitant as her Emperor would never let an act such as this go unpunished.
Castle of Lions:
In the isolation of her cell Ingrid sat and simply waved her hand with her ice magic forming a small flurry of magic. She was so engrossed in it she didn't see she had a visitor. "You won't get out of there so don't get any ideas."
Kieth emerged from the shadows. "Ah the so called new Black Paladin, I must admit I was hoping Elsa would come to see me alone I guess she hasn't gotten over her fear just yet."
"Your not going anywhere near her, and for the record Elsa is a lot stronger than you know." Kieth said. "Now you know what I want to know so cut the crap and tell me. Where is Anna!"
"Your wasting your time trying to find someone who can't and shouldn't be found." Ingrid simply said.
"You know I've been wondering how can you live with yourself Ingrid?" Keith then asked her. "Lying to your own nieces, trying to ruin Elsa and Annas relationship even trying to erase her memories of your own sister."
"I was simply doing what I had to do Anna is the odd one out and would one day grow to fear us." Ingrid said. "I've seen her secretly flinch at her sisters powers, people like her and my sister Iduna cannot and will never accept those with magic powers."
"Anna is more human than you'll ever be, and Elsa's not like you." Kieth argued. "Because unlike you she has made peace with her past and accepted who she is and Anna loves her no matter what. But that doesn't matter to you does it."
Ingrid didn't answer but instead stood up and looked at him. "You speak of humanity uh Kieth is it? Yet you question your own."
Kieth was silent as she spoke. "Oh don't try to deny it your eyes told all and your viciousness it reminded me a lot of Zarkon when we first met." Kieths eyes silently widened as it seemed she knew what he was. "You have Galra blood in your veins."
His silence all but confirmed her suspicions. "It must be frustrating isn't it having a part of you thats also the very race that has caused such pain. I understand that I couldn't accept my abilities at first I was even afraid, yet you embrace your other side." Ingrid voiced.
"You don't know the first thing about me." Kieth growled trying to keep his anger in check.
"I know your afraid of being abandoned by those you consider your allies, yet at the same time I can see your at a crossroads by the desire to seek answers to questions you have had all your life, and a great burden to fulfil despite your hesitance."
"Okay sure I'm part Galra but I accept who I am, and I don't hesitate at anything, sure I didn't like the idea of being the new Black Paladin, but I chose to do it I knew its what Shiro would want me to do." Kieth defied.
"But yet your team don't follow you as the alpha do they?" Ingrid questioned which did cause Kieth to flinch slightly. "Now that he has returned it seems they listen more to him than you."
"Shiro is still our leader no matter who flies the Black Lion. I trust him and I would lay down my life for him." Kieth denied as he was getting angry.
"But he won't trust you with your own decisions putting the mission before ones own inner desires." Ingrid smirked. "You didn't take on this mantel just to please your teammates, no you were trying to erase your own failure of not saving one you consider a brother."
He clenched his fist in anger but inside he couldn't help but take her words in, it was true he did want answers about his family or if his mother was still alive, but at the same time he had a duty to Voltron and the Coalition. Suddenly he realised what was happening.
"I know what your trying to do, your trying to get in my head just like you did Elsa!" Kieth said to her. "Well its not going to happen and one way or another your telling us where Anna is she never gave up on me and I won't give up on her." He got right in her face between the glass.
"Ah very perceptive, I can see what this Shiro sees in you. But from where I am standing this is all a game of cat and mouse but the question is who is the cat and who is the mouse?" Ingrid teased deceptively.
This did plant the question in Kieths mind but he chose to dismiss it as he turned around to leave. "No matter what you do Paladin I will fulfil my purpose!" Kieth just walked away without another word as he entered the lift.
Moments later he was walking in the hallways but Ingrids words couldn't leave his mind. "Kieth." He was startled and turned round to see Lance. "Hey you alright man? Did Ingrid say anything?" Lance asked.
"No but its just as I said every minute Ingrids on this ship she's a danger to everyone here!" Kieth said.
"I know man, but don't let her get to you." Lance told him. Kieth just sighed as he was still troubled by something.
"Lance. Do you think I'm a good leader?" He then openly asked.
"What?" Lance asked quite surprised.
"Just answer me. Am I a good leader?" Kieth asked him again.
"Well yeah, I mean sure at first you were well a little impulsive but you've really gotten better since Thaserix." Lance answered.
"You sure?" Kieth asked with some doubt in his voice. "Then why does it feel like you guys listen to Shiro more than me." He said as Lance listened. "I get it he has more experience and I would take on what he's saying but I don't want to countermand everything he says but I just want him to trust me to make my own decisions in the field."
"Kieth come on he's just looking out for you, for all of us just as he always does." Lance told him.
"He's not wrong you know." Just then they saw Elsa standing behind them with Kristof and Olaf.
"Guys how..how long were you listening?" Kieth asked out of surprise.
"Long enough." Kristoff said. "And look I get it the Black Lion is a huge burden and it was just thrusted at you, but I'd say your doing a good job."
However the latter was unsure about that he knew he made his fair share of mistakes, ones he knew Shiro wouldn't make. "Kieth." He looked to Elsa. "Its like I said before you can't be Shiro you're only you so have faith in your own abilities. But take it from me when at times being a leader is knowing when to rely on others."
"They're right man, just talk to Shiro hash it out and I'm sure he'll understand." Lance said, though he wouldn't admit it he did agree that Kieth had potential to be a leader and sure he made a few mistakes at first but he always made right by them.
"Yeah, yeah your right." Keith realised but then suddenly it dawns on him. "Wait Elsa what are you doing down here?"
"Oh I know, she said she wanted to talk to Ingrid try and reason with her like Allura said." Olaf said.
Elsa gave a silent glare to the small snow man for ratting her out. "Elsa."
"Guys I know what your going to say it's too dangerous and Ingrid will try and play mind tricks." Elsa told them.
"Well sounds like you just said what we were gonna say." Lance said with his arms crossed.
"Look I have to face her I'm not afraid anymore." Elsa said to them. "She knows something about Anna and she used to be a good person once before the Shattered Eye overtook her. Remember Coran's story?"
"Yeah key word being 'used to be' Whoever she was before I don't think she exists anymore she's too clouded by hate." Kieth said.
"I sometimes hate to agree with Keith but it's a big ditto for me." Lance agreed.
"I still have to try." Elsa said with a serious looking face with some emotion in it. The Paladins could see that the Ice Queen was serious and that she wanted to see this through.
Kieth then sighed. "Alright just be careful." He said and so he let her enter the elevator which shut and took her down to Ingrids cell. He then looked to Lance. "Lance stay outside the lift if anything happens I want to know about it."
"Rodger that team leader." Lance nodded in agreement.
Elsewhere:The bridge:
Back on the castle bridge Pidge was at Corans station recalibrating the Tachyon scanner they had attached to try and locate Anna. With one final wire connected it was ready.
"Okay Coran try it now." Pidge said and so Coran made a few keystrokes on his keyboard and then pressing enter the Castle spires sent out a pulse while inside the wormhole.
Pidge stood with her fingers crossed while Coran looked a little hopeful. However when the holo screen on the console beeped, it wasn't a good sign. Pidge looked more than disappointed she was distraught. While Coran just shook his head sorrowfully.
"No no!" Pidge slammed the console in frustration. Coran put his hand on her shoulder consoling her.
"I'm sorry number five but did I not say it was a long shot. Trying to conduct a scan for Tachyon particles while traveling via wormhole would make it difficult to pinpoint them." He said to her but it still didn't console her.
"She's out there somewhere Coran I know it!" Pidge exclaimed almost on the verge of a breakdown. "She could be in trouble and we're here wasting our time on tachyons when we may have an answer in our cell."
Coran then bore a serious face seeing where the Green Paladin was going with this."If your talking about Ingrid, I don't think talking to her is wise Pidge."
"She knows something I swear she does! She knows something about that light we saw!" Pidge argued. "If I could just talk to her…"
"Thats out of the question! I unreservedly refuse to let that woman speak to you so she can try and manipulate you!" Coran disagreed.
"But…" Pidge wanted to argue. "He's right Pidge." She turned round and saw Shiro standing behind them as he just entered the room. "We've already talked about this its not worth the risk."
"Oh and abandoning Anna is worth the risk!" Pidge questioned. "Ingrid is just refusing to say anything all because of her petty vendetta! I say we hook her up to the memory extractor and find out what she knows!"
"No if we do that we would just be proving her right, no one is abandoning Anna but what good is finding her if we let ourselves fall for Ingrids manipulation." Shiro told her.
"But Shiro…" Pidge pleaded.
"No!" Everyone was startled as they saw Keith had arrived on the bridge and he looked just as serious as Shiro. "If you go down there Ingrid will get in your head! Your not talking to her end of discussion."
"You don't get to tell me what to do!" Pidge exclaimed.
"Last time I checked I'm the Paladin of the Black Lion, and you are not going down to that cell!" Keith said almost on the verge of losing his cool.
Pidge was still giving a defiant look on that. "That's an order!" Kieth finally said Pidge looked to Shiro who shook his head which showed he agreed with him. The Green Paladin just stormed out of the room in anger and the door sealed shut.
Shiro then looked to his former right hand. "Kieth you could've handled that a little better." He said.
"What else did you want me to say Shiro?! Pidge thinks of Anna as her sister she's like a sister to all of us and Ingrid could use that against us!" Kieth exclaimed. "If she can't see that I don't trust her judgement!"
"She's upset about Anna we all are, but that doesn't mean we should sew distrust among us." Shiro said to him.
"No we just let Ingrid do that for us, it's as I said every minute she's on this ship she's a danger!" Kieth then said.
Castle Cell:
Elsa descended from the castle lift, but as the lift went down she was shaking on the inside. The lift stopped and the doors opened to reveal the cell and Ingrid waiting inside. The latter of which had seen her niece enter the room.
"Ah Elsa I knew you would come back to see me eventually." Ingrid smirked.
"I have nothing to say to you." Elsa told her coldly.
"Oh but you do my little snowflake, otherwise you wouldn't be here now." Ingrid said softly as she crossed her legs sitting down. "So what would you like to talk about? Oh wait don't tell me your so called sister. Why don't you just forget about her and be with me be a family again."
The ice Queen felt rage in her just even hearing her talk about her sister in that way, however if there's one thing she learned from her friends was to keep calm. So after a deep breath she addressed her confide aunt.
"You talk a lot about mine and Anna's relationship, but you never did say what relationship you had with my mother." Elsa then asked and she saw that particular question did cause her to flinch a little. "You we're happy once, weren't you? You and my mother even though she never had powers."
Ingrid looked away a little but then she looked back at her niece. "Yes, we were once, we used to play together all the time when we were children." Ingrid shared with her niece. "We would always play in the forest, going on adventures even watch the reindeer all day long."
"The forest, you mean outside of Arendelle?" Elsa asked with intrigue.
However Ingrid gave a light chuckle at that, "Oh ho my dear Elsa there's a lot more to your mothers past than you believe. A lot more to you."
"What does that mean?" Elsa questioned.
Meanwhile:
At the lift entrance Lance stood watch he had the visual link open so he could see what was going on in the cell. "Lance." He looked and saw Allura had just arrived. "What is happening, have you seen…" the Altean, then noticed the visual link and what was going on. "What is Elsa doing down there?!"
"She wanted to try and reason with her." Lance explained.
"And you let her go down alone!" Allura questioned.
"Hey Kieth didn't like this any more than you do heck I even sided with him on it!" Lance argued back. Alluras gaze turned back to the screen and the conversation they were having. She trusted Elsa and knew she had to confront her but she didn't like the fact she was alone who knows what the Snow Queen would try.
The cell:
"She never told you about her past did she, not surprising. She hid her true feelings about me too, she was always jealous of my gifts and I could see it in her eyes. Even on that night when she tried to make me hide my gifts." Ingrid continued with some genuine emotion in her words. "That's when I realised that this world any world would never accept us for what we are, and I knew it was the same with you and Anna."
"Then your even more blinded, than I thought. If you saw what happened you would know your wrong." Elsa told her with conviction. "Yes I did try to push Anna away but it wasn't because of hate it was because I was afraid of what I would do to her if I lost control. But she never gave up on me even when I had given up on myself, because despite being apart for all that time she still loved me. Thats what saved us both. But then you wouldn't understand."
"Then you truly are blind." Ingrid said.
"No mother loved you no matter what you think, and unlike you I choose love over bitterness." Elsa said.
All was silent but then suddenly Ingrid started laughing, which took the Arendellian queen by surprise, why was she laughing? After a minute she stopped. "Oh and what exactly do you know of love?" She then asked which did make Elsa look with shrunken pupils.
"You speak of it but you know nothing. What you feel for your so called knight in shining armour is not real." Ingrid said heartlessly and Elsa looked horrified and stunned by what she was saying. "Oh yes I've seen the way you and this Shiro look at each, but I can tell you it means nothing, yet you think it is love."
"I…,he…he was willing to sacrifice himself to protect me when Zarkon tried to capture me, he never gave up trying to help me! He's been through more than you can ever know. He understands me and all I've been through more than you ever could!" Elsa exclaimed at her.
"But does he feel the same way?" Ingrid questioned and Elsa was silent which all but made Ingrid sigh and smirk. "I think I already have the answer to that."
Elsa looked like she was on the verge of tears. "You know I thought for a moment I had reached the real you! But I guess I was wrong!" She swiftly ran away from the cell just as Allura had arrived from the lift and Elsa ran in and the door closed. Allura briefly saw a tear run down Elsa's face.
The Altean Princess turned an angered glare towards the one responsible and marched up to the Snow Queens cell. "What did you say to her!" She said in anger.
"I only spoke the truth, my apologies if she can't handle it." Ingrid simply said with not even a hint of guilt in her voice.
"The truth, or just your misguided thoughts created by the relic that you seek!" Allura argued back.
"Am I the one who's misguided?" Ingrid wondered.
"You are, and Elsa was right there was a time when you had compassion for your sister and those around her." Allura said. "Coran told me of what happened to that villager you accidentally froze, but it wasn't your fault, you regretted what you did." Ingrid listened to the Altean Princesses plight. "I wonder if you actually even cared about Elsa and Anna when you were with them, and I think there is still some compassion in you, and right now your standing in front of the only other person in the universe who might show that compassion."
"Compassion, regret oh you are just as naive as your father. That day I saw what people truly thought of those who had magical blood." Ingrid scoffed. "As I told you Princess the Eye liberated me and I saw the truth and my purpose in this world, to create a world where magic kind can be free just like I was before the forest fell."
"The forest?" Allura wondered. "You mean the Enchanted Forest?" Then it hit her. "Your Northuldran!"
"Ah you finally realised it, you'll find there's more to mine and my sisters past than you realise." Ingrid said.
Allura was still shocked by what she was saying, and she wondered if there was more to her past and Elsa's heritage than they first realised. However, right now she was focused on the Snow Queen. It looked like she had no emotion in her at all, no regret nothing.
"Ingrid, this path your travelling on has no end in sight. So I appeal to you now turn your back on The Shattered Eye and, end this madness." Allura said in a genuine sincere tone.
"Why would I do that?" Ingrid questioned with a chuckle. "For the salvation of my soul?"
"Not just that, but for your sister. So she can rest in peace." Allura explained to her but Ingrid's face turned to genuine spite.
"My sister…hated me." She breathed in great anger. "What is it about that you don't understand. She robbed me, denied me the right to be my true self. And….I will make it right."
"No, she loved you, I know she did. I know she loved you so much that watching my father seal you away killed a part of her too." Allura said to her with such emotion for she knew it was the truth, however Ingrid's face did not seem to change in the slightest, though in her eyes it looked like a single tear went down her face. However after a sigh she spoke.
"The dead exist in the past. And I must attend to the future a future that I will ensure comes to fruition." Ingrid said glaring at Allura.
Allura just couldn't believe the look of disbelief on her face, it was like the Snow Queen didn't care at all not even for her own flesh and blood. It would seem a lot more than her bond of sisterhood died that day she succumbed to the Eye.
"That will never happen. And we will find Anna and restore Arendelle no matter where in the universe she is!" Allura scowled as she turned and stormed out of the cell.
Meanwhile:
In the kitchen of the Castle of Lions, Hunk was baking cookies using Altean ingredients and herbs they picked up from Arus and on their travels through space. He had just taken a batch out the oven and Olaf was sitting on the side while Sven sat wagging his tail like a dog wanting a treat.
"Oooh look Sven the cookies are ready!" Olaf chirped happily. Sven instantly tried to bite one of the cookies in his mouth only for Hunk to pull them away from him.
"Ah ah no Sven not yet, wait for them to cool." Hunk told him which made him give him the puppy eyes.
"Oh no not the Puppy Dog pout." Hunk groaned.
"Yeah, thats hard to ignore." They all looked and saw Kristof enter the kitchen. "Its his most deadly weapon."
"Oh hey Kristof we're making cookies with Hunk." Olaf smiled.
"I just don't get it, we're traveling through a wormhole on the way to destroy a relic that could wipe out the universe and your baking?" Kristof wondered confused as he picked up said cookies, though they were still hot burning his hand slightly.
"Because baking calms my nerves Kristof alright." Hunk said to him a little sharp but tries to keep a cool head.
Kristof did chuckle a little. "You know I do kinda envy you Hunk." The Yellow Paladin was rather taken aback by what his friend had said.
"You envy me? Why?" Hunk asked while Sven looked confused.
"Because despite everything thats going on, with Ingrid, Anna being missing and with everyone so tense you seem to be the only one who's not phased by all this." Kristof said. "I'm kinda questioning my own sanity at this point."
Hunk just sighed as he plated up his cookies. "Well I never said I wasn't affected by all of this but in times like this its important that we stick together no matter what. I'll admit I've been afraid so many times even when we ended up on Arus and started fighting the Galra, but I'm reminded by how far we've come and what we've accomplished."
To say Kristof was surprised was an understatement he had to admit out of all the Palaidins he admired Hunk the most. Despite all the odds he finds the will to keep going and tries to hold everyone together too. "Yeah, thats just the sort of thing Anna would say." Kristof said.
"Plus being the leg of Voltron comes with the job description." Hunk then joked to which everyone chuckled.
"I guess we all need a little positivity at times like this. I mean I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever find Anna." He said feeling a little unsure and sad, Sven walked up to him and stroked his arm with his head to which Kristof gave a thankful stroke of his head. "It just makes me realise that there were things I never said to her and may never had the chance to now. I just kinda thought we'd always have more time."
"Hey come on man we will find Anna, and besides she's never been one to give up and neither should you." Hunk said putting a consoling hand on his shoulder. "And, I know she'd be mad at you for having that kinda attitude and not be the warm Ice Master and reindeer lover that you are."
"Yup, he's got you there buddy." Sven said (Hunk Imitating him.) Which did perk Kristoff up a bit as he chuckled.
"Yeah your right." he agreed then wondered back to another certain individual. "But aside from me ,Sven, Elsa and Olaf I think Pidge is taking Annas absence the hardest."
Hunk nodded in agreement he knew Pidge loved Anna like a sister, aside from Elsa she was taking this hard too. "Yeah she is, she just won't let anyone in. Not even Shiro."
"I'm gonna try and talk to her." Kristof said as he took a cookie from the plate and took a bite of it. "Hmm not bad cookies Hunk." He said as he walked out the kitchen.
"Well I'm glad that someone likes my cookies." Hunk said cheerfully, you know when they aren't made with Skultrite." Olaf had one of the cookies too and some of the chips got stuck in his snowy body.
"Hey snowy chip cookies!" Olaf laughed happily. Hunk shook his head smiling as he gave a cookie to Sven and he just gobbled it down.
The Bridge:
"Kieth I'm not disagreeing that Ingrid isn't a threat, but until she's given us about Anna we have to keep her in the cell." Shiro said to him.
"She can't be trusted Shiro! She's messing with our heads we should just put her in the memory extractor and be done with her." Kieth argued back.
"No that puts us on the same level as her you know that. I need you to trust she will give in eventually." Shiro tried to explain.
"Really, because it seems like you don't trust me or my judgement." Kieth argued.
Shiro was taken greatly aback, to hear Kieth say those words. "Kieth what are you talking about?"
"Ever since you got back its like the teams been listening to you rather than me even though I'm flying the Black Lion, like back when we fought Lotors ship you didn't trust my decisions in the field." Keith argued. "Even when you were gone they wanted me to pilot the lion when they couldn't when I already made it clear I didn't want this burden to begin with! But now I took it its like they forgot!"
"Kieth I do trust you, I always have. I know you rely on your instincts and thats good, but as a leader you need to learn when to rely on others and its everyones different points of view that make the team strong." Shiro told him. "I know that during that battle the team did seek my council instead of hearing you out and they need to work on that. I know this is still new to you, this is new to all of us. No ones asking you to be perfect right away."
"No one had to. But you have to start respecting me and my choices I'm not some rookie anymore, I proved myself when you were stranded halfway across the universe!" Kieth said trying to stay cool. "I need to know that you have my back!"
Before Shrio could say anything else. "Are you two listening to yourselves?" They looked and saw Elsa standing there on the bridge with Allura it looked like she'd been crying.
"Don't you all get it this is what Ingrid is trying to do, she's always tried to sew distrust between me and all of you, just like in Arendelle. Now she's doing it to all of you." Elsa told them. "I'm here now because I don't want to see the only family I have at each others throats." She then looked to Kieth. "Kieth you are a good leader, but you have to learn to trust your teammates and rely on them when it counts." She turned to Shiro next. "And Shiro. Kieth has a point you need to trust him and have faith in his own abilities as the pilot of the Black Lion, he respects your voice above all else but he has to grow on his terms."
"She's got a point your allies teammates friends, its like I said before the Paladins are like a pack of Yelmores stronger together!" Coran agreed. "And since when did we let distrust and lack of faith cloud us!"
The bridge went quiet, Allura was rather impressed with the way Elsa spoke to the two of them made them think for a moment. Kieth looked back in thought and it's true he did have a few things to work on in his leadership skills like listening to his team mates. Likewise the former Black Paladin could see his own errors, he did have experience in being a leader but he also knew what Keith was capable of but never giving him the chance to make his own decisions without him watching over him.
"She's right, Shiro you've been like a brother to me and I know you'll always have my back Lion or no lion." He realised.
Shiro nodded at that statement and Kieth gave a grateful smile in return. "But Kieth is right, I fear Ingrid's prolonged presence in the Castle is causing everyone to grow uneasy." Allura then said which made them consider what to do next, or whether trying to divide them wasn't Ingrids only plan.
Meanwhile:
In the solitude of her cluttered room with a few of the trash caterpillars floating around Pidge was alone. She was on her bed looking at a picture on her phone. It was of her and Anna from the last time they saw each other on her birthday in Arendelle. A tear streamed from her eye just then she felt a cold feeling on her hand and she saw Flurry was next to her. The small snowman smiled and ran up her arm and onto her shoulder rubbing against her face. Pidge did smile a little bit, but then that smile turned to determination.
"I am gonna find you Anna no matter what!" She said as she leapt up from her bed knocking Flurry off her shoulder and ran out of the room. Luckily the small snowman landed on one of the floating trash caterpillars.
In the quietness of the lower decks, Pidge was sneaking around and was especially careful to avoid the cameras in the hallways. She hid behind a corner, and as she peaked round she saw a certain lift leading to a certain place. Timing her actions carefully she ran down the hall and just missed the camera. The Green Paladin approached the lift and the doors opened, she was about to step in when.
"Pidge." She jumped in fright turning around as she saw standing behind her. Was Kristof.
"K, Kristof h, hey what are you doing down here?" Pidge said with panicked breathing.
"I was about to ask you the same thing?" Kristof then said with a suspicious raised eyebrow.
"N..nothing just wandering around, alone in the….hallways." Pidge stuttered.
"Near the lift that leads to Ingrids cell, the one that everyone including me told you to stay away from?" Kristof pretty much guessed what Pidge was trying to do and so she sighed with no point trying to deny it. She'd been busted.
"Look, I know Ingrid knows something and I don't care what everyone else says. Annas my sister and I'm not losing her like I lost my father and brother. I'm going down there and I'm gonna find out what she knows." Pidge told him with every ounce of conviction. "Don't try to stop me."
After a minute of silence Kristof then spoke. "Actually, I wasn't trying to stop you." This took the Green Paladin by surprise. "I'm coming with you."
"Y..You are?" Pidge said greatly taken aback.
"I love Anna, and I'm not about to let that Snow Queen keep us from finding her let alone get a relic that Grand Pabie tried to hide so this wouldn't happen." Kristof said with the same amount of conviction. "Besides between the two of us we can see through her mind games."
Pidge looked with a warm loving look then out of nowhere enveloped Kristof in a hug which he was happy to return. "I can see why Anna loves you. You always know when to have your friends back."
"Thanks Katie." Kristof smiled again, Pidge was surprised by what he'd just called her. "Yeah Anna told me."
"Of course she did." Pidge chuckled.
The Cell:
A small snowflake was forming in Ingrids cell, as she played with her powers to create a small ice shard in her hand. Just then she heard the sound of the lift coming down. The door then opened to reveal two certain individuals. They made their way towards the cell and Ingrid could only smirk and chuckle in some dark humour.
"Well well look at this, the odd one outs Ice Master and deliverer has come to see me along with the smallest of the Paladins." Ingrid chuckled. "I'm not sure whether I should be humbled or laugh at my new choice of interrogators."
"Okay you can cut out the taunts Ingrid, we haven't got time for mind games!" Kristof told her.
"We came down here for answers and we're not going anywhere until we get them!" Pidge then said glaring at her with hateful eyes.
On the outer rim of the Nyrox Nebula, a wormhole opens and the Castle of Lions emerges. The Altean ship flies into the sector and arrive in front of what seems to be a field of crashed ships and rubble surrounding a cosmic storm like a ring.
On the bridge, Shiro, Kieth, Allura, Lance, Olaf, Hunk, Coran, Sven, the mice and Elsa are looking out at the immense sight before them. "Woooowww." Olaf gaped. While Sven's jaw dropped in amazement as did flurry and the mice.
"Whoa look at the energy building in that cosmic storm!" Hunk said completely amazed.
"Allura, why do you think your father would send the Shattered Eye to this place?" Elsa asked out of curiosity, to be honest everyone was wondering the same thing.
"Obviously to deter Zarkon from ever trying to retrieve it." Allura answered from her station.
"That cosmic storm is so immense any ship that comes within range would have all its power wiped out in a matter of ticks and lose all communications if they went inside it." Coran explained as the computer on the bridge
"Whoa kinda like what we saw on Thaserix, well minus the gas cloud anyway." Lance realised.
"Yeah but, look at those ships, they're in a ring like they're orbiting it." Hunk then noticed as he brought up the long range scanners running a scan on the cosmic storm. "But cosmic storms aren't planets its pure energy, unstable energy." Just then the scanner on his station showed something intriguing. "Whoa, according to this something inside that storm is generating a gravity field creating that ring of ships."
"But what could generate a storm that powerful?" Shiro questioned.
"Could it be the eye?" Elsa wondered.
"Its a possibility, the Eye is unpredictable and can cause unusual anomalies around it, much like the strange readings it generated when the Original Paladins found it after defeating the Druul." Coran theorised.
"So the Eye is in that storm." Kieth realised.
"How do we get it?" Olaf wondered.
"Using the keys." Hunk realised. "We know that they pointed the way here, so I'm betting the three keys together will take us to the eye itself."
"Of course as they open the vault the eye is stored in, when King Alfor sent it off world it would've stayed in the vault the keys were designed to open." Coran realised.
"Okay so it creates a safe path to the Eye through that nasty storm." Olaf realised.
"Bingo my snowy little friend." Coran said happily.
Meanwhile:
"Well you two are very determined I'll give you that." Ingrid smirked with a fake impressed smile. "But your wasting your time, its like I told your friends I don't know where your so called precious Anna is."
"Now why do I find that so hard to believe." Kristof said crossing his arms. "You've been telling lies since you showed up in Arendelle so why stop now?"
"Lies?" Ingrid said with false surprise. "Are you so sure it's me who's lying? It seems to me that the only people lying here are you, telling yourselves false hope that I actually know something but heres the truth your wasting your time trying to find someone you probably shouldn't find at all."
"Your lying!" Pidge exclaimed in anger. "Every word that you say is a lie! Anna is alive and out there somewhere and I think you know something, so you will talk or we'll hook you up to a machine that'll extract the information personally!"
"Hmm very direct I do admire that. But it seems to be some motives behind your anger isn't there little girl." Ingrid said to her which made her eyes widen in surprise. "Oh please your not fooling anyone."
"Hey leave her alone!" Kristof said standing in front of her defensively.
"Oh do me a favour and keep quiet ice man, the girls are talking here." Ingrid said as she looked at Pidge with a smirking look on her face. "You all seem to ask me questions but let me ask you one." Her gaze locked right with Pidges eyes."What is Anna to you?"
Pidge just glared at her in the eyes, Kristof however was weary he knew Ingrid was playing mind games with his friend and was worried what she would say to trigger something in her.
"She…she's my friend." Pidge told her simply, for a moment there was silence and then Ingrids eyes suddenly widened.
"Ohhoho of course! So your this little sister that Anna couldn't stop talking about." Ingrid realised with a laugh as she got up and started pacing the cell much to Pidge and Kristof's surprise. "Oh yes, she told me a great deal about you and your friends but she was most fond of you. She even thought of you as….. a sister."
Pidge clenched her fist. "You think of her as a sister, oh no wonder you look so angered and hurt by her loss." Ingrid continued. "But its all a fantasy. Just like the so called love that Ice boy and her share."
"Your wrong! Anna loves me and I love her." Kristof said getting angry. "I brought her back to Arendelle when she was freezing to death because of her frozen heart. Even when she thought she loved another I fell in love with her when I realised what she meant to me. I even braved a blizzard to help her!"
"He's right and you say Anna could never accept people with magic power well guess what she loved Elsa regardless, and I think your sister loved you but you don't care about that do you!" Pidge agreed. "I don't think you care about anyone other than yourself otherwise you would've loved them both. Anna understood me, she accepted me and my friends and I understand her!"
"Are you sure about that?" Ingrid taunted again. "Are you sure this bond of yours isn't just a place holder for something you lost. Or rather someone you lost? Two someones even?"
Pidge was shaking a little and some of Ingrids words she couldn't believe it. "I don't know what you mean!"
"Oh I think you do." Ingrid smirked and looked at the fear in her eyes. "Ah, you lost your father and brother and now you see Anna as someone to fill the void." Ingrid said.
"You don't know what your talking about she is my sister and no matter what I am going to find her and you can't stop us!" Pidge yelled she'd finally lost her cool.
"Are you sure about that?" Ingrid questioned with a knowing smirk.
"Yeah we are, because last I checked your our prisoner and your not going anywhere!" Kristof said glaring at her.
However what happened next they couldn't have foreseen, frost began to build around the glass of the cell. Pidge and Kristof stepped back as the Green Paladin looked at what was happening and all the while Ingrid bore a simple smirk on her face. The frost continued to build then vapour appeared on Pidge's now cold breath it was then her eyes widened in horror.
"Oh no!" She breathed.
"Ah your getting it now are we?" Ingrid smirked then suddenly the glass shattered unleashing a wave of frost from the cell pushing the two to the floor. Mist gathered and lowered to reveal Ingrid walking out of her cell with her hands surging with power.
"Ah that is so much better." Ingrid smirked. She walked down the catwalk like a model showing off. Kristof saw she was heading for the lift.
"No!" He yelled as he got up running after Ingrid to try and stop her but with one stomp of her foot ice surged through the floor and encased Kristof in ice up to his neck restraining him.
"Kristof!" Pidge yelled horrified as she tried to get up too but suddenly she too was quickly encased in ice on the floor up to her neck. She couldn't move and she felt a new chill as a hand softly caressed her face. Looking up she saw Ingrid.
"Oh I'm sorry little girl, you shouldn't take any of this personally." Ingrid said softly and a little sadistic. "You and your friends are doing what you have to do and I am doing, what I must." She then got up and walked away entering the lift to freedom.
Pidge and Kristof looked at each other in horror, realising what had happened. The Snow Queen had played them. "What have I done!" Pidge weeped as a tear fell down the side of her face.
The Bridge:
"Okay so if the eyes in there we'll use the keys and show the path to it. We'll fly in with the lions, and when we find the ship we form Voltron and destroy it the eye with it." Kieth realised.
"Agreed." Shiro said with a smile which told Kieth he had his back on this plan. Then he turned to the Altean Princess. "Allura will Voltron be able to withstand that kind of cosmic energy?"
"Voltron was able to withstand the energy of the rift and the intense heat of that Fire Robeast so his compositional strength should withstand the energy flux of a cosmic storm." Allura said.
"Good." Kieth nodded however before they could say more.
"Hold up guys. Are we sure this is even a good idea." Hunk said a little unsure about all of this. "I mean if we do find the Eye what's to stop it from turning us against each other?"
"I don't like it Hunk but we don't have a choice." Kieth said.
"He's right the Eye is a deadly threat to the universe and its only a matter of time before someone else discovers its existence." Allura agreed.
"Yeah but he does have a point Kieth." Lance said in agreement surprising everyone else. "But you know, somethings been bugging me."
"What's that Lance?" Olaf asked now a bit curious as was Sven.
"Well, we caught Ingrid." Lance said.
"What does that have to do with anything?" Kieth asked not getting what Lance was talking about.
"Think about it Kieth, Lotor ditched her and we caught her. But there was a million and one ways she could've escaped." Lance explained.
In truth Elsa was considering all that Lance was saying and it made her wonder as well. Was Ingrids capture too easy? "Wait he has a point, with her powers she could've made another of those Ice Titan things to fly her away to somewhere else, or even froze us all on the spot and took the keys from us on The Balmera but she was caught why?"
This recent wonder did make everyone consider that very thing Ingird this supposedly all powerful Snow Queen with more precise powers than Elsa's had the ability to escape with her Ice creations but instead she just gives up. Seeing what she could do from their previous encounters it was not like a powerful and cunning opponent to surrender so easily. Kieth being the most perceptive one began putting the pieces together in his mind and soon all the others considered what was being said.
Then in a sudden realisation it dawned on him and he remembered Ingrids words. "But from where I am standing this is all a game of cat and mouse but the question is who is the cat and who is the mouse?".
"Unless…she wanted to be captured!" He breathed and everyone soon looked in horror dawning on the same conclusion. All of a sudden the blaring noise of an alert siren sounded on the castle bridge as a warning symbol appeared on the main screen.
Coran hurried to his station and brought up the disturbance and it was a certain Snow Queen in the Green Lions hanger taking three certain objects from Pidge's lab.
"THE HANGERS BEEN BREACHED!" Coran exclaimed.
"Ingrid she's stealing the keys!" Lance exclaimed.
"Oh no!" Olaf exclaimed.
"She suckered us! She wanted us to capture her so she could get the keys to the Eye and we lead her right to it!" Kieth exclaimed in angered realisation.
"But how'd she get out?!" Olaf asked. "I thought Ingrid couldn't escape the cell?"
"Wait." Elsa suddenly realised after seeing not everyone was present on the bridge. "Has anyone seen Pidge and Kristof?!"
"Well Kristof went to go talk to Pidge and…" Hunk explained until he looked with a horrified look at what could've happened. Shiro realised it now as well.
"Coran bring up the cell block NOW!" He ordered without another word Coran brought up the surveillance from the cell, and what they saw confirmed their worst fear.
"Pidge Kristof!" Olaf exclaimed horrified. The two of them were frozen in place in the cell. Kieth growled in frustration he knew this would happen if Pidge tried something like this but right now that wasn't their main concern.
"Allura take Elsa and get down to the cell to help them, everyone else with me we can't let Ingrid escape with those keys!" Keith ordered.
"You'll have to hurry Ingrids making her way to the pod hanger!" Coran exclaimed as Kieth, Lance, Hunk and Shiro left the bridge to stop her.
"Coran lock down the castle and hanger bay do not let her escape!" Allura ordered as she and Elsa left the Bridge with Sven close behind them. Coran entered a series of keystrokes which sent off alarms blaring across the castle and the hanger bay even the Lions hanger doors were now surrounded by a barrier locking down the whole Castle.
The Cell:
The lift opened with Elsa, Allura, Sven and Olaf hurried in and found Kristof and Pidge trapped in the ice. Allura went to check on Pidge while Elsa, Sven and Olaf checked on The Ice Master. Sven grunted and moaned in distress seeing his friends like this.
"I…its okay I'm okay Sven. Cold but okay." Kristof said shivering in the ice.
"Hold still I'll get you out in no time." Elsa said as she started to use her powers to melt the ice.
"Pidge are you okay?" Allura asked as she looked at the angered and weeping Paladin.
"Its all my fault its all my fault its all my fault!" Pidge said angered with herself that this happened. Everyone warned her but she refused to listen in her determination to find Anna.
"No this isn't your fault." Allura told her as the ice had dissolved around Kristof and now Elsa hurried to free the Green Paladin from the ice.
"It is. I was so desperate to find out what happened to Anna that…I fell right into the Snow Queens trap, she was taunting me just so she could escape with her powers." Pidge weeped.
"Pidge don't say that, this is what Ingrid does, she didn't just play you she played us all." Elsa told her. "She planned all this getting under our skin so she could prompt one of us to allow her escape."
"And I fell for it." Pidge said hurt. "Kieth was right we should let the Blades handle her and now we've brought her to the eye!"
The Hanger:
Ingrid had eventually made her way to the main hanger housing Altean pods she had the three keys under her arm carrying them towards the main door. However when she reached it the barrier was raised and separated her from the door.
She was taken by surprise then suddenly. "Hold it Ingrid!" She turned round and saw Kieth, Hunk, Shiro and Lance suited up in their armour and armed with their respective weapons.
"Ah the great Paladins ineffectual as ever." Ingrid smirked. "It took you this long to realise my intentions from the beginning." The Paladins stood ready to attack as Ingrid spoke. "I realised back on that desolate wasteland that those devices were connected to the eye, and with my connection to Elsa it all but told me their intended use. Alfor was very clever all this time I thought he hid the eye in Arendelle like before, but instead he brought it here thought he could destroy it, well I suppose the jokes on him." She smirked.
"So you planned what happened back on the Balmera." Shiro glared.
"Indeed, all I needed to do was wait while you collected these keys for me." The Snow Queen gestured to said keys in her possession. "Then I let you get what you wanted, my capture Lotor abandoning me all to bring me to this moment. How ironic, Alfor and his Palaidns sought to keep me from the eye and now it is the new Paladins that bring me to it."
"Not gonna happen Snow Queen, this castle is locked down and your not going anywhere." Lance said.
"Nothings getting past that barrier not even your Ice Titan could blast through it!" Hunk agreed.
Just then Shiro stepped forward as he lowered his energised prosthetic hand."Ingrid, it's not too late to call this off. You've got to stop this now before it goes to far!" He tried to reason with her however at this point reason had gone out the window, if there were any.
"Oh ho how honourable you truly are an inspiring leader of Voltron, all I've heard about." Ingrid said to him. "But tell me Shiro. Do you think your former beloved ever forgave you for leaving him behind?"
Shiro flinched slightly at that. Kieth saw that look in his eyes and the person he was being told about. "I don't know what you mean." Shiro simply answered.
"Let me tell you a secret…" Ingrid said in an emotionless tone. "I doubt he ever did."
That stung Shiro hard and it looked like he was about to have a melt down and all Ingrid could do was scoff. "Oh ho this is beautiful I will admit seeing what makes you all tick has been rather educational. It made it so easy for me to sew doubt among you. And you," She smirked at Shiro. "You will is to be admired but what good is that if your emotions blind you just as it blinded you to charge blindly to try and protect the woman you love. My little snowflake no less." Ingrid smirked.
Lance and Hunk looked at each other completely surprised and both had the same thought. "Why are we the last to know these things?"
"Just as naive as your predecessors trying to make me see reason when there's no point." Ingrid continued. "I am doing what must be done to ensure magic kinds survival so we will never have to hide who we are ever again. One way or another Elsa will join me in this new universe I shall create."
"That won't happen." Kieth stepped forward in front of Shiro. "You didn't succeed then and your not going to succeed now."
"Yeah we're the Paladins of Voltron and we've fought off the worst of the Galra Empire even that arrogant pretty boy Hans and we come out on top!" Lance agreed.
"Sure your rage maybe justified but you can't live in fear forever. Because in the real world people aren't considered monsters by what powers they have only by how they act." Hunk said. "You still have a choice it's not too late to change."
All was quiet, but then Ingrid developed a scheming smirk. "You have something up your sleeve don't you." Kieth guessed.
"Mmm you are perceptive aren't you." She smirked then out of nowhere a large flurry gathered around her it began building and building and then she unleashed a large blast of ice spikes knocking the Palaidns to the ground and they crashed into the walls and around the hanger doors. They hit the wall in a certain point and the barrier just disappeared.
Ingrid hauled the snow flurry and saw the damage that had been done. The Paladins were knocked out on the ground. She smirked, and then turned her back as she laid out the keys which seemed to float and unite together and a large beam of light pulsed from the hanger and out into the cosmic storm. A large pulse erupted from it and it seems a part of the storm began to disperse. Coran saw all from the bridge.
"By Altea…it cannot be." He breathed as the mice and Flurry looked in horror.
Suddenly the hanger door was blasted off by a huge blast of ice, and standing from the vacuum was Ingrid who then used her powers to form an ice cocoon around her and flew out of the door from the vacuums of space flying away from the Castle. The barrier suddenly reactivated restoring the oxygen in the hanger.
The four Paladins soon regained consciousness. They looked and saw that Ingrid was nowhere to be seen. "She's gone!" Hunk breathed in horror. "What do we do?"
"Allura, how's Pidge?" Kieth called on the coms.
The hallways:
"She's alright Kieth." Allura replied as she and Lance supported her while Sven supported Kristof with Olafs help.
"Can she still fly her lion?" Kiteh asked.
"Y..yeah, I'm a little cold but I'll manage." Pidge said to them.
Hanger:
"Kieth, take the team and go after her." Shiro told him. "You've got to stop her before she reaches the Eye.
"She won't." Kieth said to him but before they could leave. "Kieth." Shiro then said.
"Be careful but don't take any unnecessary risks that could endanger you or the team, Coran and I will be on standby, if she has planned this it means Lotor won't be far behind." Shiro said to him in a serious tone.
"Now go!" Keith responded to that with a nod.
Seconds later the Paladins were in their respective Lions and had left their hanger bays. Elsa had joined the Paladins along with Olaf while Kristof stayed behind with Coran and Shiro in case they needed extra help.
The Lions approached the cosmic storm following the path laid out by the keys and Ingrid. "Okay guys were not taking any chances, we stop Ingrid from reaching the Eye at all cost." Kieth said to the team.
"Then if we're going to beat her to the eye and destroy it there's only one way to do it." Elsa said to them as well.
"Oooh does this mean what I think it means." Olaf said rather nodded in agreement as the lions came together.
"FORM VOLTRON!" Kieth and Elsa said together.
(Transformation reference: VLD S2 E5 Eye of the Storm)
Within seconds the Lions parts retracted and combined one by one, Yellow and Blue forming the feet and legs, Red and Green forming the arms and body and finally Black formed the head as the face's eyes shined its golden eyes. Voltron had been formed.
The Legendary Defender of the Universe flew towards the cosmic storm. They looked to see a streak of white flying towards the path that had now been opened, the path leading to what housed the most dangerous relic in the universe. Voltron blasted towards the opened path within the cosmic storm. The race to recover the Shattered Eye had come, and the events to come would decide the victor, who would rise and who would fall.
Meanwhile:
In her sanctum Haggar was ever quiet, then suddenly a transmission came through. "High Priestess, Commander Morvok here." Morvok addressed. "I have located the Paladins they're in the Nyrox Nebula I shall capture the Lions for the glory of the Empire!"
"No." Haggar said to him.
"High Priestess?" Morvok wondered.
"Crush them, crush them all. Leave none alive." Haggar simply said and Morvok not wanting to question his given orders decided to comply.
"Vrepitsa!" He saluted and the com line was terminated.
Authors Notes: A...nd scene! Things are getting intense the final dash to the Shattered Eye has begun, but will Voltron stop Ingrid in time before she reaches the very relic that will grant her the power to wipe out those she would consider a threat to magic kind. For this chapter I decided to have Ingrid play mind games with the Paladins and Elsa making them doubt each other. Also Ingrids knowledge of the Paladins comes from what Anna and Elsa have told her, however there is actually more to it than that.
Now the race to get the eye is on, and the path ventures right into the eye of a cosmic storm! Well you know what they say an adventure is no fun if its too easy. The Paladins, Elsa and the rest of the Frozen gang still have a long way to go before they find Anna and save the universe from destroying itself from rage. I will update when I can so I appriciate your continued patience as a wise man once said "patience is its own reward"
Only a few more chapters left So until the next time Vrepitsa!
