At Julie's House…

Ben was monitoring Julie's progress as he was teaching her to cook while the children were watching at a safe distance.

It was slow progress. Ben was having a hard time teaching her. Don't get him wrong, he loved Julie and she was a wonderful parent to his kids. But… cooking was not her strongest trait, a thing she shared with Gwen, which is why Ben and Kevin often cooked. Julie, feeling her pride wounded, despite being so talented in many other things, didn't like the idea that she is not even capable of boiling an egg. Which soon started the lessons for Julie and the headaches for Ben. Personally, Ben would rather go toe-to-toe with Vilgax on an asteroid belt without his watch than endure this, but he will for his girlfriend.

He, however, cannot do it at his house anymore, his parents made that painfully clear.

A few weeks ago, at Ben's House…

Sandra and Carl were heading home as they were pleased that Ben would prep for dinner tonight.

It was a pleasant thing to learn that their son was so well efficient to not only cook for himself but for the people around him. It was such a talent that should be shared around the world. Sandra often suggested that Ben should have his own restaurant or an organic bakery. Carl has no idea where his son got the magic touch for cooking, he knew it wasn't from his own father or him. Poor Gwen had trouble with it as she once accidentally caused the entire kitchen to be covered in pastry dough. Ugh.

"Ben wanted to teach Julie some cooking skills, so she is helping out with dinner tonight." Sandra reminded her husband, "Seems the poor girl is having trouble at home economics and asked Ben for help."

"Wouldn't find a better teacher. I heard a rumor that Ben gets extra credit to fill the staff room with his confections. They are already got hooked to his cooking." Carl proudly told his wife then had a twinge of concern, "I hope there's not a mess in the kitchen."

"Carl, don't worry. I am sure Ben's girlfriend is nowhere near as bad as Gwen. Plus, Ben would be there I'm sure it's-MY HOUSE!" Sandra shrieked as she sees a fire in her kitchen!

Both Carl and Sandra rushed inside to see Ben putting out the blaze with the fire extinguisher! The poor boy was covered in sauces and burnt food as he was utterly speechless.

Sandra and Carl soon looked to see the poor stunned girl with a spatula and whatever she was trying to make for dinner.

"Hello… Mr. and Mrs. Tennyson…" She greeted them weekly.

"Five minutes…. I just went to the bathroom for five minutes…" Ben uttered under his breath.

The entire kitchen was a complete mess and the two were left stunned by it.

After that, Ben's parents made a rule in the house, Julie and Gwen were not allowed to cook in their house anymore. They made Ben promise after the teens cleaned up the mess and they ordered pizza.

"Okay, Julie, Julie, you might want to bring up the eggs. They're starting to turn a little… black." Ben shivered as he still didn't understand how she can overcook everything she touch.

"Ben don't worry, I-."

FWOOSH!

The hero then got the extinguisher and blew out the flames.

"Well, we're making progress, and that all counts." Ben chuckled a bit, trying to lighten the mood.

The children giggled a bit.

"I can do this, Ben. I just need to crack this nut." Julie told him in determination.

"I get it. I get it."

Ben was never happier then and there to hear the watch call for another mission.
