Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here Naegi is on the verge of having his name removed the registry of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy due to missing a deadline…and this chapter will answer that question on whether he would be expelled or not…

Well then, read on and enjoy!

Ch. 13: Teikō iinkai

Soon police arrived and took Madarai away while the four main course students are loaded inside the ambulances as one of the cops interrogated Naegi, and he could not believe that Naegi is a Hope's Peak student and managed to defeat the suspect in just ONE PUNCH.

This is because Naegi is wearing the RED SUIT which gives him super powers. Hence the reason why he easily defeated Madarai.

Naegi honestly answered the questions while explaining why he happened to be in this area, and yet the cop seemed to be unwilling to take the boy's word for it and suspecting him of attempting to cash in on the craze and pretending to be a hero, and said that Naegi has to come along for questioning, much to the boy's exasperation.

"Seriously?"

"Yes."

"I already told you! I'm a student of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy!"

"If you are, then your name should've been on the websites…"

"I just started…"

"Sorry, but you'll have to come with me. Otherwise you'll be labeled as a PERSON OF INTEREST…"

"You're crazy!"

"Come on, kid…"

However, the other cop came and reprimand the fellow cop for his actions and said he interviewed eyewitnesses and confirmed that Naegi stopped Madarai and even called Hope's Peak for confirmation and said that Naegi is indeed a student there, and therefore Naegi is clear of any wrongdoings, much to the other cop's dismay.

"What?"

"You heard me…this kid studies at Hope's Peak…hence a hero-in-the-making student…"

"For real? This kid?"

"Yes."

"I don't buy it."

"You can call Hope's Peak if you want confirmation."

"…"

"…"

After that Naegi is let go and soon everything is under control, while Naegi heads off to Hope's Peak to submit his report, unaware that it is already past 17:00.

As Madarai is secured and ready to be taken away, the two cops bickered, one insisting that Naegi could be a fraud and the other maintaining that Naegi is really a student at Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, in which they are sticking to their belief regardless of the evidence presented.

"I say that kid's a fraud!"

"He's not! He's a hero student at Hope's Peak!"

"He could be posing one!"

"Then why not call Hope's peak if you want to be sure?"

"I'm not doing that just to get proof! It's easy for that kid to be faking!"

"You're an idiot! That's why we have the contact number of Hope's Peak so that we can confirm who's for real and who's fake!"

"I say the kid's a fake!"

"He is not!"

At Hope's Peak, the situation there is quite tense, as the Steering Committee members appeared to be against giving Naegi a passing grade, stating that the deadline have already passed and that Naegi is as good as expelled because he failed to beat the 17:00 deadline, therefore Naegi must be removed from Hope's Peak Superhero Academy's registry and have him expelled.

Jin Kirigiri is against this as he reasoned that Naegi fought a villain just five minutes before the deadline, and though the deadline has passed, Naegi managed to defeat the villain, and therefore he earned the right to remain in Hope's Peak and thus there is no reason to expel him just because of such a technical decision.

This caused him to get into a fierce argument with the Steering Committee members while Kizakura looks on, seeing that the Committee members are such selfish idiots, overlooking Naegi's efforts just because he was sorted into the Reserve Course.

"I say that kid should be expelled!"

"He got his chance but blew it!"

"There's nothing he can do!"

"Gentlemen! Please! Makoto Naegi went through all the effort to…"

"Sorry, Kirigiri! Rules are rules! That kid has to abide by it!"

"And therefore he must be expelled!"

"No exceptions!"

"Do it now, Kirigiri!"

As the Committee members uses their influence by making a vote, they somewhat succeeded saying that with a vote of 4-1, it is unanimous that Naegi be expelled at once, but then Kizakura approached the Committee members and asked them what will they do if Naegi lobed a protest against Hope's Peak? What if the rule about the Reserve Course students getting a deadline and failed to beat it because of no crime is spotted reaches the public?

Kizakura points out that if it reaches the public, it would become a PR nightmare, and soon the Steering Committee members will be under intense scrutiny, and may result in the closing of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, and all funding will be cut off.

And there Kizakura revealed that Naegi happened to be a CLOSE ally of Kibo, and surmised that if Kibo were to find out what the Committee members are about to do, he might question the academy's integrity and this may also lead to an investigation from lawmakers, and Kizakura asked the Committee members if they are willing to take such risks.

"So then…what will it be…?"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"Want to take the risk? Do you still intend to expel Naegi? It's your call…but you have to be prepared…he has friends here and I doubt they would not react if what you intend to do would become public knowledge…"

"…"

"…"

"…"

"What is your answer, gentlemen? Better not waste time…"

The Committee members went silent as they saw the logic, and unwilling to let it happen, as well as wanting to avoid such inquiries from the media and the politicians, the Committee members gave in and said that they will let Jin decide Naegi's fate before leaving the headmaster's office.

Once alone, Jin thanked Kizakura for the help, which Kizakura smiled and said it is okay, but requested that Jin treat him to a drink, which Jin said he will, but only after academy hours as he cannot risk sneaking sake inside, which Kizakura said he will wait for it.

"Okay, Jin. I'll hold you on to that."

"Sure."

"So all is well, huh?"

"I suppose."

"Then be ready. I think that the Naegi-kid will be coming here shortly."

"I sort of expected that."

"He should be here right about…"

"Huh?"

By then Naegi came running, and went to Jin and showed him the written statement from the police to show that he fought a villain and managed to stop him before lives were lost, and begged that he be not expelled just because he failed to beat the deadline, saying that stopping Madarai is not as easy as he expected.

Jin raised his hand and said that there is nothing to worry as he assured that Naegi will not be expelled, and stated that what Naegi did will help his case as points are earned though doing good deeds, and what he did with Madarai will elevate his status, and urges him to keep it up, saying that once he earned enough points, he could be promoted, meaning that he would eventually be transferred to the Main Course of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy.

"…and that is that, Naegi-kun…"

"R-really…?"

"Yes."

"Main course…that means there won't be any quota in the…"

"If you manage to earn lots of points, yes, you will be transferred to the main course and you won't get any weekly quota…"

"I see."

"Inspired?"

"Yes. I am."

Naegi stood there looking relieved, and he bowed as he thanked Jin for the words, which the headmaster said that it is okay, and there Naegi turn around and leaves the principal's office, where Kizakura smiled at seeing how modest Naegi is, and commented that one day the boy would be transferred to the Main Course of Hope's Peak.

Jin said that would depend on Naegi's performance, and if he keeps performing well, that may happen, seeing the boy's potential and is glad that the Committee members did not get things their way.

"Good thing those Committee goons didn't get their way."

"Yeah."

"And that boy is looking forward to learn more."

"Yeah, and I owe you one, Kizakura."

"Just don't forget the sake you promised."

"I know."

"Shall we?"

"Okay."

The scene shifts at the doorway of the Main Course building, where Naegi is leaving, and as he is relieved that he narrowly passed the deadline, he is confronted by some of the Main Course students, where they heard about what happened and tells him not to get complacent, reiterating that Reserve Course students are mere BLACK EYES of Hope's Peak and they are hoping that one day Naegi would be expelled from the Academy.

"Hey, you!"

"You think you're hot stuff?"

"You just got lucky!"

"Sooner or later you're gonna get kicked out!"

"And never come back!"

"Asshole! That ahoge is an eyesore!"

"Best that you quit while you're able to!"

"You garbage!"

As Naegi ignored them, the Main Course students inched closer, looking like they intend to provoke Naegi into fighting them, so that they have a reason to fight back and make it appear that the Main course students are defending themselves and that Naegi start a fight.

Not far, the Steering Committee members are looking on, and are pinning their hopes that Naegi takes the bait, so that they have an excuse to expel Naegi for disobedience and unwarranted violence, and they are egging the Main Course students to provoke Naegi.

"That's it…"

"Take the bait, you plain-looking brat…"

"Yeah…so that we can catch you and have basis to expel you…"

"Just a little more…"

"Do it, kid…"

"Get yourself provoked…"

"Do it!"

"Yeah!"

Suddenly, Kibo showed up, as he came here by chance as he believed that Naegi would be here, and seeing the scene in front of him, he stood in front of Naegi and demanded an explanation from the Main Course students what are they planning to do, stating that they are about to attack Naegi and asked why are they doing this as Naegi did not do anything wrong to them.

The Main Course students then asked Kibo why is he associating with a GARBAGE like Naegi, saying that Reserve Course students are just expendables and have no place in Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, and urges him to ditch Naegi, stating that the boy will drag the cyborg down.

"Are you serious?"

"Why associate with a reserve course student?"

"Have you lost your mind?"

"Let alone lost your balls!"

"That brat's a trash! You should choose your peers wisely!"

"Unless you're as stupid as that kid!"

"Come on! ditch him!"

"Kick him on his balls! Do it!"

The Steering Committee members were taken aback at the scene, not expecting that Kibo would show up, and they wondered why a Main course student is defending a Reserve Course student like Naegi, as they believed that the Reserve Course shouldn't mingle with the Main Course, and now they will have to wait and see where this would lead to and how will they be able to find a cause to expel Naegi without revealing themselves as secret watchers.

"Blast!"

"What terrible timing!"

"What is Kibo thinking?"

"Now we'll have to wait!"

"Damn! Maybe we should find a place to throw the reserve course students away from the main course building…"

"If not for that Kibo we would've expelled that Naegi…"

"How long do we wait?"

"Damn it…"

Suddenly, Kizakura showed up and tells the group to go home, saying that it is already past the dismissal time, and the Main Course students begrudgingly complied and left, and there Kizakura tells Naegi and Kibo to go home as well, and the two teens nodded as both leave the school grounds, and Kizakura sighed, seeing that no violence was committed and went back inside the building.

The Steering Committee were frustrated, as they were so close in finding reason to expel Naegi, but Kibo's unexpected appearance and Kizakura breaking things up, the Committee members will now have to think of a way to show reason to expel the boy, and they began planning on what to do and how to carry it out stealthily without giving themselves away.

"Damn it!"

"We we're so close!"

"That Kibo and Kizakura had to ruin things!"

"Come on…that Naegi is just a reserve course student…I don't think he's…"

"That kid's an eyesore! He has to be expelled!"

"I agree! Only the main course students should be the ones to shine!"

"Let's make a plan!"

"I'm in!"

To Be Continued...
