I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the situation intensifies as both Naegi and Kibo are being confronted by hostile students in the main course department of Hope's Peak, as they took offense over the fact that a Main Course student is FRATERNIZING with a Reserve course student…

Ch. 18: Tairitsu part 5

As Kibo and the student council president are talking, they did not notice that members of the Steering Committee are secretly watching the scene, and they felt that Naegi must be expelled because even the student council president appeared to be interested in Naegi, and they feel that Naegi's very presence is INFECTING anyone within the Main Course of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy.

"Damn…"

"Even the student council…"

"This is bad…if things keep up…"

"What now?"

"Boss! We got to do something!"

"Damn it…that Naegi is starting to bug me…!"

"It's all because of that Naegi…"

"…"

The Steering Committee members secretly huddled, as they discussed steps on how to incriminate Naegi without giving themselves away, and offered various suggestions on how to frame the boy, so as giving the committee members an excuse expel him so as to PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY of Hope's Peak Academy's Main Course.

"I see…"

"Makes sense…"

"Good idea…"

"I like that…"

"Then it's settled."

"Let's do this…"

"Yeah…and kick that Naegi out of Hope's Peak…"

"Right!"

However, their musing was interrupted when Tengan stood behind them, having roughly heard the discussion, and yet he greeted them politely and asked them if they are having some problems, and said he is willing to listen to their CONCERNS.

The Committee members nearly jumped in fright, and believing that Tengan did not hear anything, they pretended to act like they are just having a normal conversation and assured to Tengan that everything is okay and there is nothing for him to worry about.

"Oh, please don't worry."

"We're fine."

"Yes, we are!"

"We're as healthy as always."

"We apologize if you think we are…you know…"

"Yes, really."

"So that's that."

"He said…"

As Tengan adjusted his glasses, the Committee members smiled wryly and tells them that they are taking their leave and told him to relax, saying that he should enjoy his retirement and live life the fullest, which they hoped that the former headmaster doesn't suspect anything from them.

"Well then…"

"We got to go."

"Duty calls…"

"Work-related…you know…"

"That's right…"

"Now you take it easy…"

"Relax and enjoy."

"See you!"

As the Committee members left, Tengan stared at them, just as Kizakura showed up, and there Tengan told him that he did the right thing in summoning him, as he stated that the Committee members are starting to become a pain as they are picking on a promising hero student who happened to end up on the Reserve Course yet has potential to be transferred to the Main course.

"Thanks for informing me, Kizakura."

"Sure."

"Those Committee members are starting to hassle me."

"Sorry you had to see that."

"Makes me wonder why are they so insecure over a boy who showed promise even though he ended up in the reserve course…"

"That shows that those Committee clowns think.

"Anyway, Kizakura…"

"Hmm…?"

Kizakura adjusted his hat and said that the Committee members are really foolish as they think that the Main Course is the key to success, while looking down on the Reserve Course for being…beneath them.

The two men then stared at Kibo, who is being talked to by the student council president, and Tengan asked Kizakura what he thinks about Kibo, and Kizakura said that the teen cyborg has the qualities of a hero, and yet he is puzzled on why he is so protective toward Naegi.

Tengan adjusted his glasses as he too is intrigued by this, and wondered what kind of charisma Naegi has, as he told Kizakura that another Main Course student is also attracted by the charms of Naegi, which Kizakura stared at the former headmaster in curiosity.

"Really?"

"That's what I heard."

"Hmm…"

"That may have been the reason why the committee members are acting this way now."

"How foolish of them. Anyway…this other student…is it another boy?"

"No. It's a girl."

"Really?"

"Yes."

Tengan was referring to Maizono, and he said that he saw her becoming drawn to Naegi, and believed that Naegi has the potential to cross over to the Main Course, and hence, Jin Kirigiri might be compelled to take notice of Naegi should he saw the potential in the boy.

However, Kizakura pointed out that the Steering Committee members are sure to block this, but Tengan said he is confident that Jin will not bow to pressure like what the Committee members are doing to him.

"Rest assured. Him will not get pressured."

"Really?"

"Really."

"Sounds good."

"Indeed."

"Well…"

"We let Jin handle this matter."

"Fine."

The scene shifts to Kibo, where he is told by the student council president that he would like to arrange a meeting with Naegi, saying that he would like to get to know more about him, and Kibo asked if he has anything against Naegi, which the student council president deny the accusation, saying that he only wants to know more about him, and see if he has what it takes to ascend Hope's Peak Superhero Academy.

"That's your intention?"

"Yes."

"And not to disrupt him?"

"Of course not."

"…"

"Are you sure you have nothing against Naegi?"

"Rest assured. We harbor no ill-feelings toward him."

"…"

Kibo appeared cautious as the student council president said that he only wanted to see Naegi in person, reasoning that he may see some potential in him, and seeing that the student council president is sincere in his words, Kibo said that he will ask Naegi and arrange a date to facilitate the meeting.

"Really?"

"Yes."

"I see."

"If I see Naegi-sensei, I will tell him, then I'll let you know."

"That's good to hear."

"Just make sure you do not try to provoke him. Other than that…"

"I understand, Kibo. Thanks."

"…"

The student council president smiled and nodded, saying that he is looking forward to it and expressed interest in meeting Naegi in person to see if he really is a potential hero in training. Kibo told him that Naegi has the qualities and qualifications of becoming a pro hero and assured that the student council president will be shocked once he meets Naegi.

"Oh…?"

"You heard me."

"You think I would be overwhelmed by Makoto Naegi's presence, you say?"

"I believe so."

"Heh."

"What?"

"I look forward to it."

"…"

The rest of the student council members heard it and are curious to see what kind of person Naegi is, as this was the first time that a Reserve course student has caught the student council president's attention, and wondered if Naegi is worth the time or not, since they believe that the gap between the main course and the reserve course are huge and are worlds apart.

"So, even the student council president is swayed…"

"I can't believe what I'm hearing…"

"Just who is this Naegi…?"

"How is it that a reserve course student was able to attract our president's attention…?"

"I wonder…"

"We should accompany the president should he meet this Naegi…"

"I agree. The others agree as well…"

"Then it's settled."

Elsewhere, Naegi and Maizono are shown to be dealing with a villain, which was Soda, as he is using his mechanical giant to deal a decisive blow so as to show everyone that he is a force not to be taken lightly as well as to showcase his potentials and as a means of advertising his talents to anyone willing to pay him.

Maizono is dodging the robot's attacks as she couldn't get close enough to use her powers on Soda at a close range, and there Naegi told her to be ready as he will have Soda thrown off his ride.

"Really?"

"Yes!"

"But…you…"

"I'll be okay! Just trust me on this!"

"…"

"Don't worry!"

"Fine!"

"Here we go!"

After that, Naegi went underneath the robot and punched the legs, damaging it and the giant robot loses its balance and Soda was thrown out and hit the ground, where Maizono got close and uses her powers to put Soda to sleep, and the rampage ended, with many witnesses began to shower praises at her, while seemingly ignoring Naegi, unaware of the fact that he is also studying at Hope's Peak.

"Hooray!"

"She did it!"

"She beat the goon!"

"Three cheers for the Idol Mistress!"

"Yay!"

"We love you!"

"Way to go!"

"You're the best!"

Hope you liked this chapter, as Kibo stood by his ground and not let others dictate his life, whilst talking with the student council president about arranging a meeting with Naegi to see if he is worth getting transferred to the main course of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy.

While Naegi is appeared in this chapter, he got to shine again with some assistance from Maizono and took down Soda, unfortunately he was unintentionally overshadowed as the public assumed that Maizono defeated the villain by herself…
