I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the situation gets intense as the student council appeared to be intrigued about Naegi…though it's unclear what their intentions are if their interest is about knowing him or deeming him a threat…

Ch. 20: Seito-kai to Kibō

The student council began making steps on how to initiate a possible meeting with Naegi, they consider the following info that they got, in which they are aware that he has a friend who is on the main course, which is Kibo, and the council members are entertaining the idea of asking him about what he know about Naegi, seeing that he is protective towards the said boy.

The others agreed and suggested to the president that they should find Kibo and see if they could persuade him to ask Naegi to meet with the student council so that they can judge him if he is worthy of becoming a main course student.

"I suggest that we talk to Kibo."

"Though unorthodox…it makes sense."

"He is close to this Naegi...I believe that Kibo might provide us some useful information about Naegi."

"Hmm…"

"What do you say, president?"

"Kibo could be our chance to facilitate a meeting with Naegi."

"Our council members have a point."

"Let me think…"

As the student council members went for the clubroom, they passed by a few main course students, who are discussing about Naegi being given a tour by Maizono, and the said students expressed disdain that a reserve course student is allowed in the main course building.

They branded Naegi as an opportunistic germ that must be DISINFECTED immediately and are laying plans on how to chase him away or make him look bad that would warrant in having him expelled so as to preserve the image of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy.

"That damn Naegi…he really is a brat…!"

"He's full of himself…he tricked Maizono into giving him a tour here!"

"I can't believe this…he feels that he is a main course student even though he is just a lowly reserve course brat!"

"First Kibo, and now Maizono…he might INFECT our fellow main course classmates!"

"That Naegi is indeed a disease…!"

"We got to do something…! We can't let him do as he please!"

"We can't let this slide…! Makoto Naegi must be expelled!"

"I agree…we need a plan! Anything that will kick that Naegi out of this academy!"

However, Kibo appeared and overheard what the jealous students are planning, and warned them that they are in a heap of trouble if they attempt to attack Naegi, and the jealous students demanded to know where his loyalty lie, accusing him of stopping low by befriending a trash like Naegi, reasoning that reserve course students have no place in the main course.

"Do you realize what you're saying?"

"That Naegi is garbage!"

"You should know that!"

"Whether he is a reserve course student or whatever, Naegi-sensei is still a student of Hope's Peak! He deserved to be given a chance!"

"What?"

"Preposterous!"

"He is worthless!"

"And believe me…if you dare harass him…you will feel the wrath of a cyborg…me!"

The detractors were taken aback at Kibo's words and couldn't believe that a Main Course student like Kibo would defend a Reserve Course student like Naegi, and they questioned him on what the teen cyborg see in Naegi, saying that he is not worth the bother as well as he is beneath them, but then Kibo aimed his palm where light began to shine.

Kibo told the detractors that he is ready to stake everything and made it clear that he will not let anyone dare attempt to disrupt Naegi's school life at Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, and made it clear that he will stand by Naegi's side, much to the detractors' disbelief.

"What the…?"

"No way…"

"You're crazy!"

"Do you know what you're saying?"

"Have you lost your mind?"

"You're becoming a disgrace to Hope's Peak Superhero Academy!"

"Are you mad?"

"You traitor!"

By then, the student council president showed up and attempted to diffuse the situation, where he told Kibo that there is no need for violence as he will address the matter without the need to put up a fight, and the teen cyborg appeared hesitant before he eventually stand down.

The council president told the detractors that he will not allow any form of harassment taking place and said that if Naegi is deserving, then he has the right to earn his place in the main course, which the detractors argued, saying that Naegi cannot be accepted in the main course due to him being in the reserve course.

But the council president made it clear and threatened to report this to the headmaster if they insist on harassing Naegi, and the detractors were in a state of disbelief at hearing this and felt that even the student council has also been INFECTED by Naegi himself.

"What the…?"

"No way…"

"You're crazy!"

"Do you know what you're saying?"

"Have you lost your mind?"

"You're becoming a disgrace to Hope's Peak Superhero Academy!"

"Are you mad?"

"You traitor!"

The rest of the student council members approached the detractors and echoed their president's sentiment, and told them to either stop harassing Naegi or the matter would be brought to the attention of the headmaster, and promised that things could get messy if the detractors would not stop their constant antics towards Naegi.

This made the detractors feel threatened as they couldn't believe that even the student council members appeared to vouch for Naegi.

"What the…?"

"No way…"

"You're crazy!"

"Do you know what you're saying?"

"Have you lost your mind?"

"You're becoming a disgrace to Hope's Peak Superhero Academy!"

"Are you mad?"

"You traitor!"

The student council members reiterated that the detractors leave Naegi alone as they will judge him themselves and warned the detractors to stop this foolishness or face the consequences.

The detractors were shocked by this, yet despite their objection, they reluctantly relented and left the scene, leaving Kibo behind and the teen cyborg was relieved yet wary as he wondered what the student council is after, and waited for them to make their move.

There the council president approached Kibo and initiated a friendly conversation, where he politely asked him about his relationship with Naegi, claiming that he is curious about the boy, and said that he has been hearing that there are those who oppose him making friendship with the Main Course students and said that he wanted to know about Naegi.

Kibo thought carefully as he is unsure, but after hearing that the council president wanted to know about Naegi, the teen cyborg decided to make it simple and told him what he knows, and his friendship with the teen boy.

The council members listened on and were quite taken aback when Kibo referred to Naegi as MASTER, as in a mentor or something, which made the council members more curious towards the teen boy.

"What…?"

"Did he say...?"

"I heard it…"

"Kibo just called Naegi..."

"…sensei…"

"O can't believe what I'm hearing…"

"A main course student calling a reserve course student a sensei…?"

"This I did not expect…"

The council members huddled as they find it intriguing, as a main course student like Kibo would refer to a reserve course student like Naegi as a master, and wondered if there is some kind of secret hidden behind all this.

"What do you think?"

"Huh?"

"This is Strange..."

"Kibo refer Naegi as his master…?"

"Completely unheard of…"

"I agree…"

"There must be a hidden agenda here…"

"That's what I thought…"

Meanwhile, the council president is still talking to Kibo and assured to him that the student council has no malevolent intention towards Naegi as they only want to know about him and see if he is worthy of being drafted into the main course, as well as if he has what it takes to be a pro hero.

Kibo reiterated that Naegi has the qualifications, and said that if Naegi goes rogue he will stop him, though he said that kind of scenario is unlikely due to the boy's good nature and simple outlook on life.

"…and that is that. Naegi-sensei will not go rogue."

"Really, Kibo?"

"Yes."

"And you believe in Naegi?"

"I do."

"And are you sure that Naegi would not go astray?"

"Absolutely."

"…"

Feeling satisfied, the council president decided to end the conversation and asked Kibo if he could ask Naegi to meet with the student council, which Kibo nodded and said he will ask Naegi if he is willing, and promised to let them know his answer.

After that, Kibo left and there the council members asked the president if he is sure about this, which he said that he is, as he is really curious to know if Naegi is really that kind of person that Kibo reiterated, as well as to see if Naegi is for real or not.

"Indeed. I am really curious about Naegi."

"So that cyborg really has high belief towards that Naegi..."

"Makes me wonder if this Naegi is for real…"

"Then Kibo may be telling the truth about Naegi."

"All that is left is how would Kibo relay the message, and whether he could persuade Naegi to meet with us. See to it that Kibo meet Naegi and find out if his answer."

"Yes, president."

"Yes, president."

"Yes, president."

After that, the student council went to their classes and things went well, and by the time dismissal is in progress, the student council is about to leave, but then they saw Naegi walking with Maizono, and the two are shown to be getting along well, as if they are already familiar with each other, while Kibo is escorting them.

The council members became more intrigued as Naegi seemingly attracted another main course student beside Kibo, and now they began to understand why the president is curious about Naegi and now they feel like wanting to interrogate the boy.

"So…Naegi is no ordinary boy…"

"He even attracted another main course student."

"First Kibo...now Maizono."

"Now my curiosity has been piqued…"

"What if Kibo is right about Naegi?"

"That would depend…"

"If our meeting with him pushes through…"

"And if he turn out that he is not what he appeared to be, he will regret it."

At the school ground, Naegi sneezed as he felt that someone is talking about him, and Maizono asked him if he is okay, which he assured that he is, and said that he felt that someone must be talking about him.

As the two continue to walk, Kibo is watching them as he intend to tell him that the student council wanted a meeting with Naegi and wondered how things would turn out, and hoped that they do not become detractors like some of the main course students and the Steering Committee.

Hope you liked this chapter, in which Naegi became a hot topic, as they partially got some description of him from Kibo, and this made the council president feel intrigued at the fact that Naegi seemingly possess a certain level of charisma, in which the Student Council witnessed it, which made them curious as to how and why a reserve course student like Naegi has attracted the likes of Kibo and Maizono.
