Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here you will see what happened next after the heavy battle between Naegi and the hostile main course students of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy…
Well then, read on and enjoy!
Ch. 31: Fukaina yoha
Several minutes later, the scene shifts at the police station where the police commissioner is listening to the testimonies of the Main course students who came to Naegi and Kibo's aid, and he couldn't believe what he heard, especially after being told that the hostile main course students resorted to using grenades and other dangerous weapons just to kill a fellow Hope's Peak student just because of a stupid belief.
Moreover, the commissioner became more irritated as the arrested hostile main course student leader branded the main course students who aided Naegi traitors and declared war on them and told his fellow main course students that they will now eliminate any Hope's Peak student who sides with any reserve course students, and the delusional main course students roared in approval.
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
Dismayed and irritated, the police commissioner told his men to take the arrested students away, which the policemen nodded and led the arrested students away, which the student leader shouted and vowed to Naegi that Hope's Peak Superhero Academy will never let a garbage like Naegi be transferred to the main course and reiterated that they will do everything to prevent that.
The delusional main course students echoed their delusional sentiments and roared an rebellious chanting aimed at Naegi, which was quite loud enough to be heard inside the police station.
"My fellow students! We must get rid of Makoto Naegi before he INFECTED Hope's Peak!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
Irritated at the hostile main course students' idiotic antics, the police commissioner told his men to lock them up as their noise is disrupting the peace and order situation at the station, which the policemen nodded in compliance as they escorted the hostile main course students to the detention cell, though the hostile students continue to chant Naegi in an unpleasant way which further irritated the policemen.
"My fellow students! We must get rid of Makoto Naegi before he INFECTED Hope's Peak! And get rid of those who are siding with that accursed Naegi!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
"Okay!"
By then Jin Kirigiri arrived and there he asked Togami and Ishimaru what really happened, and the two main course students told the headmaster what transpired, with Ohgami, Maizono and Asahina also explaining everything in detail, and said that the hostile main course students were driven by discrimination due to looking down on reserve course students.
The main course students who came to Naegi's aid also said that even Kibo became a target because of the teen cyborg's friendship with Naegi, and said that it is clear that the hostile main course students will target anyone who fraternizes with the reserve course students regardless of gender and status, which distressed the headmaster.
"Seriously?"
"Yes, headmaster."
"They are really foolish."
"They even resort to using weapons to kill Naegi."
"This is bad. What else did they do?"
"Well…they even targeted a fellow main course student because he defended Naegi."
"And…well…things got out of hand…"
"Its true, headmaster…"
The police commissioner sympathizes with the main course students who helped Naegi, and said that this may just be the start, and said that since the hostile main course students are still minors, the police may not keep them behind bars as the hostile main course students' parents would surely bail their children out and uses TECHNICALITY to prevent the families from being charged despite the incriminating evidence and testimonies from witnesses.
Naegi and Kibo realized that the police commissioner is right and this made the two teens wondering if enrolling at Hope's Peak Superhero Academy is right, but the police commissioner told the two not to be discouraged and they should continue their studies and not let their detractors chase them away, reiterating that the two boys are not in the wrong.
"So don't let them intimidate you."
"Yes sir."
"Yes sir."
"You were accepted in that academy for a reason. Just continue your studies."
"Yes sir."
"Yes sir."
"And fight for what you believe in."
"Yes sir."
"Yes sir."
Togami, Ishimaru, Ohgami, Asahina, Maizono and Ohwada glanced at each before approaching Naegi and Kibo, telling them that they don't have to feel guilty since they're the victims and that they only defended themselves and said that the class where Togami and the others belonged would be glad to have Naegi and Kibo as part of the class, something which both Naegi and Kibo are moved by the students' kindness.
"We will tell the headmaster to have you join our section."
"Yeah. I think you could fit in."
"So keep up the good work, Naegi."
"We will wait for you."
"So don't chicken out."
"We will welcome you with open arms."
"Yeah, so cheer up."
"That's right."
However, things took a turn when four lawyers came rushing in, and said that they are representing the hostile main course students, and they told the police commissioner that the students be released immediately or they will file a complaint, which the headmaster told the lawyers of what the hostile main course students did several minutes ago.
But the lawyers, who were hired by the main course students' parents who somehow learned of what happened, shrewdly uses the TECHNICALITY as a basis so as to pressure the police commissioner to release the detained Hope's Peak Superhero Academy students, not caring about what their clients did, as securing the students freedom is all they care about.
Moreover, the parents of the hostile main course students appeared to be influential people and paid the lawyers quite handsomely just to ensure that the lawyers would successfully free their children from police custody and not have them charged for whatever crime committed.
"We demand it!"
"Release our clients at once!"
"They are minors and cannot be charged!"
"Yes, they are underage!"
"Release them now!"
"Or we will take drastic actions!"
"We mean it!"
"That's right!"

Meanwhile, at Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, the scene shifts at the headmaster's office where Kizakura sighed in annoyance as he is working on some papers that Jin left behind, as paperwork is something Kizakura is not good at, and he wished that the situation at the police station be resolved so Jin would come back and finish the paperwork.
Suddenly, the Steering Committee members came and entered, intending to influence Jin into helping the hostile main course students get out of jail after getting word of what transpired, only to stare in surprise at seeing Kizakura, who told the Steering Committee members that Jin is at the police station at this time, and he told the Steering Committee members to let the course take its time and not interfere.
"What was that?"
"What did you say…?"
"What are you…?"
"You heard me. Let the investigation take its course. The headmaster is also cooperating with the police regarding the matter. And it's best if you don't interfere."
"…"
"…"
"…"
"Got that, boys…?"
The Steering Committee members were not pleased with this and demanded to Kizakura to contact Jin and have him exhaust all means to secure the hostile main course students' freedom no matter what, but Kizakura told the Steering Committee members that it won't be easy due to the members of Class 78 being the witness to the crime and if the Steering Committee members tried to interfere they might get charged for obstruction and harassment, and told the Steering Committee members to wait and let the situation take its course.
"So…what it's gonna be? Want to interfere and get subpoena?"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"If I were you I'd leave and wait till morning…when the police give their statement…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
Pissed off, the Steering Committee members left the headmaster's office and went to their quarters, and there they are discussing about what to do next, as the hostile main course students must be freed at once, since they are children of wealthy people and if the parents are pissed off they would cut off the funding of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, which would spell trouble for them.
"Damn it!"
"We got to do something!"
"Indeed! The parents are going to get pissed!"
"That Kizakura is no help at all!"
"What should we do?"
"Think of something!"
"Me?"
"Yeah, use your head!"
Suddenly, their phone rang and one of the committee members answered it, and he soon panicked as the caller turn out to be the wealthy parent of one of the hostile main course students, and he told the Steering Committee members to do something or else he and the other parents would cut off the funding of Hope's Peak, which the Steering Committee members assured to them, in a panicking way, that they would do everything to secure their children's release.
"Please! Calm down!"
"We will do what we can!"
"We promise to get your kids out!"
"So please…don't act rashly!"
"We will make our move!"
"So don't worry!"
"Your kids will be freed!"
"Yeah!"
As the Steering Committee members are scrambling to appease the wealthy parents, they did not notice that some members of the student council members overheard the Steering Committee members' discussion and went to the student council office and told their fellow student council members what they overheard, and they all discussed about the current events that is happening.
They expressed disappointment at the fact that the Steering Committee members are so foolish that all they are concerned about is the funding of the academy and not the welfare of the students who are being victimized by the discrimination, and the student council president said that the Steering Committee members won't get their way as both Naegi and Kibo's testimonies would lead to the expulsion of the hostile main course students for their actions, which the other student council members agreed.
"All I can say is that the rebellious main course students have dug their own graves. They won't be able to weasel their way out on this."
"Yes."
"I agree."
"They're going to be expelled."
"Serves them right."
"Their own foolishness has led to their downfall."
"Tough luck on them."
"I say good riddance to those idiots."
However, a student council member arrived, as she secretly went to the police station and secretly observed the events, and there she told her fellow student council members that the wealthy parents of the hostile main course students are on the move as they hired lawyers to pressure the police commissioner to release the hostile main course students without getting charged.
But she also noted that some members of Class 78 are acting as witnesses and it is unlikely that the hostile main course students would be freed immediately as the police commissioner is taking the testimonies into account, which the other student council members agreed.
"So the parents are getting desperate."
"Indeed."
"But they won't win."
"Yes. There are witnesses, and that would work."
"Along with the fact that the police commissioner and the headmaster are incorruptible…the parents' plans would surely backfire."
"Yes, it would."
"Then it's settled."
"The rebellious main course students are set to be expelled."
Another student council member asked what would happen if Naegi do gets transferred to the main course, and how other main course students would react, as he believe that there are others who oppose to the idea of a reserve course student getting transferred to the main course of Hope's Peak, though the student council president said that the headmaster will figure it all out as Jin is respected and will not be intimidated by the likes of the bullying students, but another council member pointed out that the Steering Committee might react rather apprehensively if that were to happen.
"Then let them."
"Huh?"
"What?"
"Why?"
"They can't do anything since word probably got out that Naegi did a superhero act, and with the rebellious main course students getting arrested, I'm sure that other students within Hope's Peak would have no choice but to respect the headmaster's decision if and when Naegi gets transferred to the main course."
"I see…"
"He's right…"
"Of course…"
