I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the hostage situation arc is about to reach its conclusion as Naegi and Kibo are now after the remaining terrorists as the group makes a last-ditch effort to make a getaway…

Ch. 45: Hitojichi no jōkyō part 6

The scene showed that Kibo damaged the helicopter in an effort to prevent the terrorists from escaping further, which Naegi asked the teen cyborg if he is sure about this, which Kibo said that this is the only option he could think of to stop the terrorists from getting the chance to escape.

"It can't be helped, Naegi-sensei!"

"…"

"We have to force them to land…otherwise they might escape!"

"I see…"

"This is better than giving them the chance to escape and cause more trouble…!"

"Got it!"

"…"

By then the helicopter is badly damaged and showed signs of deteriorating, as it started to lose altitude, and there Kibo told Naegi to hold on as the helicopter started to descend after the helicopter tail malfunctioned, and the pilot struggles to land it safely without crashing, and the helicopter heads out towards a forest park, and thankfully managed to land it safely, and there the remaining terrorists got out, and drew their weapons, with the irate squad leader ordering his men to shoot Kibo and Naegi to death, which his men nodded in acknowledgement.

"Yes sir!"

As the Shade terrorists opened fire, the squad leader and the helicopter pilot took the opportunity to slip away unnoticed as the teen cyborg began to fight off the terrorists, as he withstood the barrage of bullets before telling Naegi to go after the escaping terrorist and the helicopter pilot, and Naegi asked Kibo if he would be okay by himself, which the teen cyborg assured to Naegi that he will be fine.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?"

"Yes! I'll be fine!"

"…"

"Just go after the two! I'll catch up with you in a little while!"

"Okay! Just be careful!"

"Understood!"

"Take care of them! I'm heading out!"

"Got it, Naegi-sensei!"

Nodding, Naegi went ahead as he went after the escaping terrorist and the helicopter pilot, while Kibo stayed behind as he went forward and started to beat up the remaining terrorists, who kept on shooting their target despite the fact that the teen cyborg's body is impervious to bullet shots.

Despite seeing the obvious, the remaining terrorists were not deterred as they urged each other to keep fighting as they must remain active to achieve their goal, which the rest nodded in agreement.

"Keep shooting! We can beat that brat and escape! Then we can still accomplish our mission! Do it!"

"Yeah!"

The terrorists kept on shooting at the teen cyborg yet Kibo continue to advance, and there the terrorists are starting to get discouraged as one by one they are being defeated and by then they realize that their squad leader has abandoned them and now the terrorists are panicking as they lost the will and began to scamper away, but the teen cyborg caught up with them and disables them with a strong punch, and there he tied up the remaining terrorists and he contacted the police to have the terrorists pick up, and then he began to move out to assist Naegi in searching for the Shade squad leader and his pilot.

Not far, the Shade squad leader and his pilot beat up a motorist before stealing the car and attempted to escape, only for Naegi to show up, and there the Shade squad leader tells his pilot to run over Naegi, seeing that the teen boy is only wearing what appeared to be a generic costume which consists of a red suit and a black cape, which the pilot asked if this is okay, but the squad leader said it doesn't matter as they must not get themselves captured at all costs.

"Run him over!"

"Eh?"

"Run him over!"

"But…"

"Just do it!"

"Sir…he's already a…"

"I don't care! Just do it!"

"…"

The pilot, bucking under pressure, stepped on the pedal and sped the car towards Naegi, but Naegi ran towards the car and performed running shoulder thrust, and the impact caused the car to get thrown back and crashed, pinning the two remaining terrorists and got trapped, and as Naegi stood there, Kibo arrived and helped the victimized motorist stand up before leaving him as he went to Naegi and asked if he is okay, and there the two teens can hear police car sirens blaring.

As the cops arrived, the victimized motorist pointed at the wrecked car, and upon closer inspection, the cops confirm that the two trapped persons inside are indeed members of Shade, where they can be heard wailing in pain after being pinned inside the wrecked car, and are begging for help.

"Hhhhheeeelllllpppp~p…"

At Hope's Peak Superhero Academy, the scene shows that Jin is staring at the telephone as he is awaiting news on what went on at Shibuya, and there Kizakura came and told the headmaster that he got news via his smartphone that the hostages have been rescued and half of the terrorist group have been killed, and that Naegi and Kibo are nowhere to be found.

This made him feel concerned, yet Kizakura assured to him that everything will be okay as he is sure that Naegi and Kibo are probably somewhere searching for the rest of the terrorist group.

"You need to relax, Jin."

"But…"

"Have some faith in your students. I'm pretty sure that they're okay."

"Really…?"

"Yup. Remember, they're in the main course department, so I'm pretty sure that they would complete this assignment you assigned to them."

"I guess…"

"Good. So chill."

"Fine."

The telephone then rang and as Jin answered it, a conversation was heard while Kizakura looks on, and after a few minutes the call ended where Jin appeared to be relieved as he said that the surviving terrorists have been captured with Naegi and Kibo unharmed, and that the two students would be heading back here.

Kizakura smirked and said that things went well and that Jin made the right call in sending only Naegi and Kibo, as the two are enough to address the situation, which Jin nodded in agreement, as he knew that he made the right decision and not allow himself to be intimidated by anyone.

"See that, Jin? What did I tell you?"

"Well…"

"You did the right thing. Rather than sending an army, sending only Naegi and Kibo is better than nothing."

"Yeah…I did."

"So now they're on their way back…"

"Yeah."

"Now you may relax now."

"Yeah, I will."

At the police station, the interrogation team are interrogating the Shade terrorists who are not injured, as the Shade squad leader remained confined to the hospital, and there the interrogation team demanded to know what are they planning and if there are other Shade members still at large, which the captive terrorists are hesitant to comply.

"Tell us…are there any more of your members still at large…?"

"…"

"Answer me! Are there more of your members still out there? Are they hatching another hostage crisis?"

"…"

By then, several men in businessman attires came and confronted the interrogation team, and showed their identification cards, which surprised the interrogation team members as the men in businessman attires are revealed to be members of the Public Security Intelligence Agency, which is the national security agency of Japan.

It is administered by the Ministry of Justice in the government of Japan, and is tasked with internal security and espionage against threats to Japanese national security based on the Subversive Activities Prevention Act and the Act Regarding the Control of Organizations Which Committed Indiscriminate Mass Murder.

There the representative of the PSIA team who arrived said that they are here to take the remaining terrorists as they now have jurisdiction in placing the terrorists in their custody, and the lead interrogation team member is against it as they were tasked to investigate the matter after the Shade terrorists murdered several hostages in cold blood.

But the PSIA representative said that they will see to it that justice would be served as the PSIA have a MORE SOPHISTICATED method of interrogating the terrorists, and by then the Shibuya mayor came and told the interrogation team to let the PSIA agents handle the investigation, much to the lead investigator's disbelief.

"You want us to what?"

"You heard me. Let the PSIA deal with those bastards."

"Are you serious, Mr. Mayor? Look what they did to the hostages…they killed them in cold blood and…"

"The PSIA have more jurisdiction…and I am confident that they can solve this."

"So we're useless then…"

"I am sure we can compensate that. For now, hand the terrorists over to the PSIA. That's an order."

"…"

"Now."

Soon the PSIA agents escorted the Shade terrorists out of the police station and loaded them inside an SUV before leaving, and by then the investigation is called off as the Shibuya mayor began to call a press conference to address what happened earlier during the day.

Much later, the scene shifts at the dormitory area of Hope's Peak Superhero Academy where Kibo and Naegi arrived, and as the two teens are about to go inside Kibo's dorm unit, they were greeted by Maizono, as she went and hugged Naegi, causing the latter to blush as this was the first time he got hugged by a girl.

There she told Naegi and Kibo that Class 78 were quite worried about what happened during the hostage situation at Shibuya, and Naegi apologize and assured to her that everything went well, even though he and Kibo were unable to prevent the terrorists from murdering some of the hostages, though Kibo said that what matters is that the terrorists have been stopped and the assignment is a success.

"Don't blame yourself, Naegi-sensei."

"He's right. You did all you could."

"You think so…?"

"Yes. The terrorists have been apprehended, the hostages are saved. That's all that matters."

"He's right, Naegi-kun. So stop feeling guilty and enjoy the reward you got."

"I…okay…"

"Good. Let's go inside. Maizono, would you like to join us? I believe that there are snacks inside…"

"Sure! Let's go, Naegi-kun."

"O-okay…"
