Albus Potter and the Ringed Wizard

I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story resumes, in which as Scorpius and Albus are on their way to attend at Hogwarts, with the latter unaware of the trouble that happened a while ago which the stowaway Death Eaters were trying to abduct the younger Malfoy…
And now the actual plot is about to commence involving Scorpius and Albus…

About 20 minutes later, the scene shows that everyone inside the Hogwarts Express are relaxing and are chatting, seemingly unaware of what happened earlier, as Scorpius discreetly managed to eject the Death Eaters without attracting attention, and there you can see that the sun is starting to set down, indicating that the time now is 18:00, and there Albus and Scorpius are still chatting while getting along well.
"You actually saw how armored wizards use different kinds of spells while fighting?"
"Yes,. Albus. And they come in different ice magic…a barrier…even chains…"
"I see…"
"And they do not use wands."
"How curious…"
"Looks to me that magic has evolved in many ways…"
"You think ?"
"Probably…"
After several minutes, Rose entered the compartment and told Albus that she was told that they are going to arrive at Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry in 30 minutes, thus he should put on his Hogwarts uniform soon, which Albus nodded in acknowledgement.
"So we'll be arriving at Hogwarts soon?"
"Yes, Albus."
"I see."
"So better put on your uniform soon ."
"Okay. Got it."
"Good. Then I'm off."
"Thanks, Rose."
"…"
After Rose left, Scorpius mentally sighed as he is just half an hour away from starting his first year at Hogwarts, and there he wondered which house he would be sorted into, and noticed that Albus appeared apprehensive, and as the younger Malfoy asked him, the younger Potter tells him his worries even though Harry assured to him that everything would be okay.
Scorpius told Albus that he should be confident about what's going to happen, and said that there's a chance that he might end up in a different house, and if ever Albus end up in Slytherin, it doesn't mean it's the end for him and said that he can wish for either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, which somewhat ease Albus' worries.
After that both boys began putting on their Hogwarts uniforms as the train is just 20 minutes away from arriving at Hogwarts, and Albus is mentally hoping that he doesn't get sorted into Slytherin.

Ch. 31: Senbetsu-shiki shokkā
About 23 minutes later, the Hogwarts Express arrived, and there the students, returning and newcomers, disembarked, and both James and Rose came down, and the new, upcoming first years gasped in surprise and awe upon seeing Rubeus Hagrid, as it was the first time seeing a half-giant, and there James and Rose greeted Hagrid, which the half-giant greeted them in response.
"Hey, Hagrid! Been a while! Rose...this is Hagrid."
"Wow. So mom and dad weren't kidding…you really are a half-giant…"
"Hello, James. Energetic as always. So you must be Rose. Your mom told me a lot about you."
"Glad to be seeing you this year. Rose and Albus are going to have their first year here."
"That's right."
"Good to hear. Here's hoping that you get to land on Gryffindor."
"I'm pretty sure of that."
"Indeed."
"Good. Confident as always."
Albus and Scorpius came out and they too were awed at seeing Hagrid, and the half-giant greeted the two, which the two boys responded in kind, and Hagrid was mentally surprised to see that Draco's son turn out to be a kind and courteous boy, and he hoped that Scorpius would not turn out to have the same vibe as Lucius Malfoy.
By then some of the upperclassmen recognize Scorpius and began taunting him by saying that he is the child of Lord Voldemort, which Scorpius just stared at them neutrally but chose not to verbally retaliate, and there Hagrid told the upperclassmen to knock it off and follow him as he will lead them towards the Hogwarts Castle.
Suddenly, a magical beast shows up and is ready to pounce on a student, causing them to shriek in panic, but Scorpius reacted as he brought out what appeared to be a toy-looking revolver pistol and open fire, where instead of bullets, magical blasts came out and struck the beast, disabling it before ministry officials came to restrain the beast, and both James and Rose were surprised by what they saw.
"Whoa…"
"Huh…?"
"Did you see that…?"
"Yeah…"
"That Malfoy sure is prepared…"
"Dad didn't tell me about that…"
"Me neither…"
"Still…dad told me not to get too friendly with him because he is a Malfoy..."
Albus asked Scorpius what did he do and how did he do that, in which the latter revealed that he went to the George Weasley's shop a few days ago and purchased some magical pellets which can be used on Muggle items like a toy gun, and said that he brought it with him in case of emergencies.
"Really, Scorpius?"
"Yeah. Got to admit…your uncle's shop sure came in handy…"
"Whoa…"
"Maybe later I might teach you some things…"
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Okay."
"…"
Hagrid noticed that there is no tint of arrogance from Scorpius, and mentally remarked that maybe Scorpius might be the one who could redeem the Malfoy family and if given a chance he might earn friends from other houses.
After that, Hagrid led everyone as they all head for the castle, and while walking, James and Rose wondered why Albus is getting along with Scorpius given that his family is involved with the Death Eaters decades ago, while also worried that Albus might get embroiled in trouble given the rumors about Scorpius being the secret child of Lord Voldemort.
"Really, James...why is your brother getting along well with a Malfoy…?"
"Beats me. I don't know what got into Albus' head…"
"Albus should know better…he might get caught in a lot of trouble given the history with the Malfoy family…"
"Yeah, I agree, Rose."
"Lets hope that the Sorting Hat sorts Albus into Gryffindor."
"Me too."
"And maybe it would keep him away from that Malfoy..."
"That's what I'm thinking…"
Once inside the Hogwarts Castle, the first time students are waiting outside of the great hall, where Albus is feeling apprehensive, but Scorpius comforted him and tells him that if he ever gets sorted into Slytherin, he should never feel alone, and should stay strong and persevere.
Rose raised an eyebrow as she couldn't believe that Scorpius would be the comforting type as she recalled what her dad advised her – don't get too friendly with Scorpius, which is why she is distancing herself from him, and after a few minutes a teacher came and told the upcoming freshmen to step inside, where they saw the other students, from second to seventh year, are all sitting on the long bench, where four separate areas are shown, where each represent the four houses:
- Gryffindor
- Ravenclaw
- Hufflepuff
- Slytherin
At the far end, the current headmaster of Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry, Minerva McGonagall, is sitting, and watches on as the head of Gryffindor brought out a scroll and began to call the name of the freshman where he/she would be sitting on a stool while the Sorting Hat would be placed on his/her head and there the Sorting Hat would determine which house he/she would be sorted to.
"Noah Nicholas."
"Hmm…Hufflepuff."
"Oscar Ouroboros."
"Hmm…Slytherin."
"Arthur Pendrago."
"Hmm…Gryffindor."
"Rose Weasley."
"Hmm…Gryffindor."
James is overjoyed that his cousin is in the same house, and there he welcomed her to Gryffindor and said that all that's left is Albus, which she said that she hopes that he too would be sorted to Gryffindor, so that they can be together as classmates and family, just like their parents when they were students before.
"Nice one, Rose! You're now in Gryffindor!"
"Thanks!"
"We'll be together for the rest of the entire school year!"
"Yes, James!"
"Now all that's left is Albus!"
"Lets hope he gets sorted into Gryffindor like us…"
"Then keep your fingers crossed, Rose."
"I will."
The Gryffindor teacher then called for the next batch of students which includes Albus, and there one by one their names were called and the Sorting Hat began to deliberate which house they would be assigned to.
"Muhammad Abdul."
"Hmm…Ravenclaw."
"Leoric Lewis."
"Hmm…Slytherin."
"Archibald Anderson."
"Hmm…Gryffindor."
"Albus Potter."
"Hmm…ah…hmm…Slytherin."
Everyone gasped as Albus was sorted into Slytherin, and expressed surprise as this was the first time something like this happened, where the students gave varying reactions to what they just witnessed, and wondered what Harry Potter would think about his youngest son got sorted into Slytherin.
"Whoa!"
"No way!"
"For real?"
"A Potter in Slytherin…?"
"Unbelievable!"
"Maybe he's not like his famous dad…"
"Looks like a Potter is a naughty boy…that must be the reason why he got sorted into Slytherin..."
"Probably…"
James and Rose slowly stood up, showing a look of disbelief at seeing Albus getting sorted into Slytherin, and saw Albus walking towards the Slytherin table in a state of shock and disbelief, and the two cousins wonder how are they going to tell their parents that Albus just got sorted to Slytherin and not in Gryffindor.
"I can't believe this…my brother got sorted into Slytherin..."
"Albus…"
"This is something I didn't expect…"
"Me too. I'm at loss for words…"
"What would mom and dad would feel about this…?"
"Same here. I'm betting that dad would scratch his head if he were to find out that Albus is in Slytherin..."
"What a way to start the school year…"
"Yeah…"
After that more students were called and got sorted, until Scorpius is the only one left, and as the younger Malfoy approach the stool, some of the Hogwarts students and upperclassmen began taunting him by calling him the BASTARD CHILD of Lord Voldemort, until the other Hogwarts teachers issued a warning, telling them that the insults they hurled is unacceptable.
As the Sorting Hat is placed on Scorpius' head, the Sorting Hat began to determine, and for some reason it became conflicted, as Scorpius has traits that could place the boy in Slytherin but also found traits that can place him to other houses.
"Hmm…very peculiar…"
"Huh?"
"Hmm…my instincts tell me you should be placed in Slytherin."
"Looks like I…"
"Hmm…but you possess other traits that shows that you can do better in other houses…bravery…wit, a willingness to do learning…valuing hard work, dedication, patience, loyalty, and fair play…perhaps you could do well in either Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff...hmm…this is something I never thought to expect…"
"Huh…? Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff…? Me...?"
"Hmm…very difficult. Hmm... can't be helped. Your traits fit most amongst the four houses…hmm…this is certainly unprecedented…hmm…this can't be helped…but that's what my instincts said. Very well…Gryffindor!"
"Huh?"
Everyone inside the Great Hall, save for McGonagall, stood up in surprise and shock, as they didn't expect something like this to happen. Scorpius Malfoy was sorted into Gryffindor, and the students are in a state of disbelief about a Malfoy being in Gryffindor, a first in the history of Hogwarts.

Source material shows that Rose got sorted into Gryffindor, while both Scorpius and Albus were sorted into Slytherin, but I decided to try some experiment by having Scorpius sorted into Gryffindor, so as to give readers an element of surprise, as well as to give some preview on what would happen if a Malfoy ends up in Gryffindor even though the Malfoy family had a history during the previous Wizarding Wars…
