My apologies for the late post, as things got frantic here at my place and it somewhat delayed my course of working on my fanfictions, which are:

1) I was struck down with a viral infection which affected my throat and had to make more than a few weeks to get a lot of bed rest, hence I had to pull back on working on the chapters of my fanfics

2) Last October 15, I noticed that I haven't received any notifications from fanfiction . net, ranging from reviews to story favorites and following to receiving PMs from other fanfiction . net users, and I accidentally discovered that I received some reviews for some of my fics yet it didn't register on my Yahoo mail, so I sent a message to bot at fanfiction . com but discovered that there IS AN ISSUE on my email address and tried various ways, which went unresolved, and I resorted to use an alternate email address, but so far there is little change.

So for those who would like to inquire something or have something in mind regarding the fics I've written, I'll provide you with an alternative way in case the email alert list and PM on fanfiction . net hasn't been resolved.

Now that I've said my piece, onto other business at hand…

Many thanks to those who read and reviewed this fic. I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc is ongoing…where Naegi,. Maizono, Saihara and Akamatsu are going to have some situation as they are protecting the princess of Novoselic before realizing the gravity of their current predicaments…

Ch. 52: Atarashī wariate part 7

The scene shifts at a safehouse where various government agents (men in black shades and tuxedos) are stationed outside as they are tasked to bodyguard the princess of Novoselic, and the agents are now taking the matter seriously after learning of what happened at the airport 30 minutes ago, and there the lead agent told his subordinates not to let their guards down as there is a possibility that a spy might come in and make an assassination attempt.

"Don't let your guards down. The moment you seem anything suspicious like a bladed weapon and the like…assume that the person is a possible assassin. You know what to do so don't be lax. Understood?"

"Sir yes sir!"

Inside the safehouse Naegi, Maizono, Saihara and Akamatsu are inside the bedroom where Sonia is also there, and the four Hope's Peak Superhero Academy students are quite worried as they felt that the assassins are getting bolder after what they did at the airport, which Saihara is bothered, prompting Akamatsu to ask him what is bothering him.

There Saihara said that someone within the government may have a connection with the assassins, as he pointed out how the assassin was able to bring weapons inside the airport despite the tight security measures being implemented, which made Akamatsu, Naegi and Maizono glanced at Saihara, as this made them realize that he brought up an interesting point.

"Eh…?"

"Are you serious…?"

"Saihara…"

"I'm serious, guys. The incident at the airport is an early indication. The assassin at the airport was able to bring weapons and attacked without hesitation…if the security within the airport is serious then the assassin would have been caught already. That was no ordinary breach. Someone provided the assassin with more than just a leeway."

"Then…"

"Someone from our government wants Princess Sonia dead…"

"So corruption within our country's government…"

"Yeah…very likely…hence from this point on we can't trust anybody other than at Hope's Peak..."

As the four students are pondering on what would they do next, a knock on the door is heard, and as Saihara opened it, a COOK came and brought a tray consisting of a huge bowl containing cookies and five glasses, each with a full cream milk, which the cook tell the five teens to enjoy their meal, as dinner would be served tonight, which Saihara, Akamatsu and Sonia thanked the cook.

"Here you go…snacks for everybody."

"Thanks."

"Now you kids sit tight. Dinner will be served tonight, so relax and have a stress-free day."

"Thanks."

As the cook left, the four teens are about to drink the glasses of milk when the RED SUIT that Naegi is wearing began to ACT UP, and there one of the suit's powers is activated, revealing that Naegi possessed x-ray vision-like powers, but for some reason only Naegi can see this and no one else, and there Naegi was slightly bewildered as this was the first time he gain access to this kind of ability.

However, as he glanced at the five glasses, he SAW that the milks are laced with ACID, in which if one or all of them drank it their internal organs would BURN and MELT. At the same time he SAW that the cookies all contain poisonous chemicals inside and there Naegi realized that the cook is actually an assassin in disguise, intending to kill Sonia and everyone else here.

Naegi immediately grabbed the glasses and threw them against the wall, which alarmed the other teens, only to stare in surprise as a portion of the wall where the milk splattered against began to emit smokes before the wall's coating MELTED, and there Naegi told his schoolmates and Sonia what just happened.

"Eh…?"

"What…?"

"You mean…?"

"Yeah…the cook's an assassin…and he intend to kill us all…"

"No way…"

"Damn…"

"This is bad…"

"Looks like we have no alternative…listen up…"

Naegi told Maizono and Saihara to look after Sonia while he tells Akamatsu to contact Hope's Peak Superhero Academy and tell the headmaster the situation and that he send some additional hero-students, reasoning that he has a feeling that the agents outside may have been poisoned, surprising Saihara and Akamatsu.

"Eh…?"

"What…are you serious?"

"So you're saying…?"

"Yeah…with the cook's trying to assassinate us…it's likely that he did the same to the agents outside…"

"No way…"

"Damn…"

"This is bad…"

"We better get out of here…"

As Naegi opened the door he was taken aback as the agents are sprawled on the floor, their mouths foaming and they are already dead, and beside their corpses are the glasses of milk, and you can see that the contents spilled onto the floor were emitting smokes, showing that the chemicals are laced into the milks, and there Akamatsu and Maizono were horrified at what they just saw.

There Naegi told Saihara and Maizono to escort Sonia and escape, saying that there is a possibility that more assassins are heading their way here, which made his schoolmates feel apprehensive as they didn't expect that the assassins were this resourceful and that there is someone backing the assassins, wondering why would someone want to kill the princess of Novoselic.

"Oh no…so my presence has put you people in danger…"

"Calm down, princess…"

"Its not your fault…"

"That's right…"

"But…I..."

"It's alright."

"We'll protect you."

"You'll be safe. We promise you."

Then the suit's x-ray vision-like powers kicks in suddenly and there Naegi SEES, through the wall, that the cook is actually an assassin and there he is SEEN standing outside the safe house where at least four SUVs arriving, and out came a dozen foreign assassins, and the cook was WELCOMING them and this made Naegi becoming apprehensive and he told his three schoolmates to take Sonia towards the back door and escape while he would hold off the assassins.

"Eh…?"

"What…?"

"You mean…?"

"Yeah…I'll hold them off…you take the princess and"

"No way…all by yourself…?"

"Damn…you'll get killed…!"

"This is bad…are you sure about this…?"

"Don't worry about me…listen up…you got to get the princess to a safe place…and you need to call the headmaster…I'm afraid the four of us won't be enough…now hurry and go…!"

As Saihara, Akamatsu and Maizono escorted Sonia towards the back door of the safe house, Naegi stayed behind, where he can hear the cook telling the assassins that he already poisoned the government agents and all that is left is Sonia Nevermind and four HIGH SCHOOL BRATS that the assassins can waste on.

"Just so you'll know…all the agents are dead…and I'm sure that the high school brats are likely dead."

"Good."

"If one of them managed to survive, feel free to kill the brat…and the princess is all yours to kill."

"Good."

By then the assassins arrived and are surprised to see Naegi blocking their way yet the cook said that Naegi is an easy target and assured to them that Sonia is inside the room and has no means of escaping, which the assassins nodded as the lead assassin told his subordinates to shoot Naegi down so that they can get this over with and kill Sonia, which the other assassins nodded in acknowledgement as they prepared their weapons.

"Yes sir!"

The assassins then brought out their weapons, consisting of high-powered firearms like machine guns, semi-automatics, Uzi's and the like, and they all opened fire, spraying lots of bullets which Naegi covered his face and head with his forearms and there the red suit protected him as the bullets bounced off, which the cook stared wide-eyed seeing that Naegi is still standing despite being bombarded with bullets.

He told the lead assassin about this which the latter felt that the Hope's Peak students may have been prepared and there he told his subordinates to back away as he brought out an RPG, saying that this would put Naegi out of his misery, which the rest of the assassins nodded in acknowledgement, as they backed away while the lead assassin puts the RPG on his shoulder and is ready to open fire.

"Stand back! I'll kill the brat…then you storm that room and shoot the princess until her body explode! Understand?"

"Yes sir!"

Outside, the scene shows that Saihara, Akamatsu and Maizono are stealthily escorting Sonia as they head towards the streets as they are heading towards the nearest police station as they acknowledge the fact that they need to protect the princess of Novoselic because it is likely that the enemies within Novoselic may have connections with some corrupt government officials within Japan, and there Saihara told Akamatsu to contact the headmaster at Hope's Peak Superhero Academy and inform him of the situation as well as requesting for assistance.

As Akamatsu is contacting Hope's Peak, Maizono noticed a police car suddenly approached them and out came two policemen and immediately offered to assist, which Sonia nodded but then Saihara stopped her, saying that it is strange that the two cops in front of them somewhat immediately recognized Sonia and that the two cops are seemingly aware of what's happening and there he demanded to the two cops to provide identifications if they are policemen.

As Saihara anticipated, the two cops, though Japanese, immediately drew their guns and immediately opened fire, which prompted Saihara to pull Sonia away and hid behind a parked car as the two cops kept opening fire, revealing that the two men are not cops but hired assassins, and as one of them continue to fire his gun, the other brought out an RPG and is ready to open fire, which Saihara saw this and he told Maizono to DO HER THING.

"Maizono!"

"Yes?"

"You know what to do!"

"You sure?"

"Yes!"

"Okay…"

"Do it!"

"Okay!"

Nodding, Maizono uses her powers which she sang a lullaby and the two assassins were overwhelmed by her singing voice and promptly fell to the ground and fell asleep, and there she and Saihara escorted Sonia as they went towards the business district in order to blend with the crowd, and passing by a department store, Saihara had Sonia dressed like a civilian and provided her with a hat and trench coat and said that this is necessary because it is likely that the assassins and some corrupt government officials have seen her face beforehand hence this explains why assassins pose as cops in order to make her drop her guard and become an easy target.

"…and that's why you need to disguise yourself, your highness…"

"I see…"

"For now we need to get you to safety…and it looks like we may have to change strategy."

"Okay…"

"For the time being we can't trust anyone within our government due to the fact that one of the officials may have made a deal with the scoundrels from your country…hence we can't trust anyone there, so you'll have to stick with us for the moment."

"I understand…"

"Good. Now stay by our side."

"Okay."

Saihara and Maizono also puts on a hat and trench coat, disguising themselves and then sneaked out from the store and carefully walked amongst the crowd, where some of the passerby are wearing similar attire due to the fact that it is today's fashion trend, and soon they are joined by Akamatsu, who was also given a hat and trench coat, and as they are traveling they noticed that a few cops appeared and are checking at any teenagers that came across, in which the cops are inspecting the passerby's faces, and Saihara immediately recognized that the cops are assassins in disguise, and told Akamatsu, Maizono and Sonia that they can't move ahead as planned, stating that this might attract the assassins' attention and the best they can do is wait for reinforcement that Akamatsu requested from the headmaster, which his two schoolmates and Sonia nodded in acknowledgement.

"Everyone…looks like we're stuck here for now…we can't risk letting them know that we're here…we may have to stay put for the time being."

"Okay."

"If push comes to shove…we may have to fight our way out. In case they find us out…we might need Maizono to knock them out. Once we get in the clear, we may have to hijack a vehicle and head towards Hope's Peak Superhero Academy. That'll be the safest place for Princess Sonia."

"Okay."

Hope you liked this chapter, as Naegi and the others get some screen time and a bit of action, and while Naegi is busy keeping the assassins at bay, the other Hope's Peak students, namely Maizono, Saihara and Akamatsu, get the chance to shine as they protect Sonia from the assassins who are hired to kill her while in Japan…

The next chapter continue the current story arc as Naegi is busy taking down the assassins while his three schoolmates are having a bit of difficulty in repelling the attempted assassination on the princess of Novoselic…so expect some action and fights…
