The Band Part 2
It's Friday night, the night of the battle of the Bands, everyone was arriving including Puffy AmiYumi just pulling up to the school.
"LOOK IT'S PUFFY AMIYUMI!/OH MY GOSH!/THEY'RE HERE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY'RE HERE!"
Everyone then cheered as Puffy AmiYumi came out of the bus walking towards the school while waving to the fans, signing autographs and fist bumping people making them never want to wash their hands.
"Wow, not the first time this has amazing, Aren't you excited, Yumi?"
Asked Ami.
"I haven't been since Kaz took us to play at a halftime football game for an elementary school."
Yumi said sarcastically.
"And I still can't believe the home team won, I betted a lot of them, but didn't think they had the chance, yet made a killing."
"Well seeing this place, it's no wonder most celebrities, or anyone outside, don't come here, everyone here looks so weird."
She said looking at everyone doing stupidly Random things.
"And I don't just mean metaphorically."
"Hey, I'm sure this place isn't that weird, besides maybe other celebrities know this place."
Principal Brown then walked out of the doors to welcome their guests.
'Hello Puffy AmiYumi and welcome to Elmore Junior High. I am Principal Brown, a huge honor to meet you, only because we never had celebrities come into town before."
He said, shaking Kaz's hand.
"Told ya."
She said to Ami, who looked a little disappointed.
Kaz: The honor is mine, especially for the fortune that'll be worth.
He said and they both laughed as they entered the building.
"Am I the only one who sees that's a talking beard with glasses?"
Yumi said noticing the obvious, with Gumball and Darwin, they were getting ready and in costume looking like weather due to the band name.
"So, whaddya think?"
Gumball said wanting Darwin's review.
"I don't know, we look more like the dumpster in the sky from a mock preschool show, or a fairytale, or a really bad fanfiction, or all 3 combined."
Darwin said looking around himself.
"I say you look like a bunch of lowlives who don't stand a chance against Tobias "The Rock God" Wilson."
Tobias approached them.
"You were bragging about winning the other day, and that's the best name you came up with?"
Gumball asked.
"Sometimes a guy's coolness has limits, alright?!"
"Or you just use too much of it."
"At any rate, this is my win, see you on the stage."
"We are on stage, well backstage."
"You Know What I Meant!"
He said walking backwards then tipped on a cord, Gumball and Darwin then took a peek outside and saw that the auditorium was packed. they then see Puffy AmiYumi who just sat in their seats, for they're the judges, just a reminder.
"They're even cooler and cuter in person."
Darwin said with his heart racing.
"Where?"
"Right there."
"Whoa! That's them? I thought they'd look like cream puffs."
"And what makes you think of that!?"
"I mean it's because their name has "Puffy" in it! You know?"
"You've gotta listen to their songs one day, I guarantee you'll love it."
"Ok, this is it dude, our big chance to show everyone, mostly Tobias, what we're really made of, you ready?"
Gumball asked as Darwin took a deep breath.
"Yeah."
"Hello everyone and welcome to Elmore Junior high's first and only Battle of the Bands! (Due to the school's requirements of at least one or more events to avoid lawsuit and risk of permanent school closure) With special guests, famous J-Pop Rock celebrities, Puffy AmiYumi! Let's give them a big welcome everybody."
Said Principal brown as Everyone applauded for Puffy AmiYumi who waved.
"Many of these competitors have... very interesting talent, hopefully, but only one will take home the gold, who will be victorious? So without further ado, let the competition begin!"
Everyone cheered for the show to begin, there were many bands and some were good but most were terrible. After waiting for countless bands to finish, Gumball and Darwin were next, in fact they were last.
"Next up: The Watterstorms, why does that name sound so familiar? Oh right it's the Wattersons, I see what they did."
Said Principal Brown leaving the stage.
"Let's do this!"
Said Gumball and Darwin who did a tiny handshake and heading to the stage.
"WOOHOO! GO WATTERSTORMS!"
Shouted Richard wearing makeup on his belly, for he wasn't wearing a shirt, looking like a gray cloud, getting everyone's attention even the Girls.
"Richard! Sit down!"
Said another voice which came from another Blue Cat, who is Gumball and Darwin's Mother, Nicole Watterson, being embarrassed. Also Anais was there.
"Sometimes I wish we would not make a scene, for once."
She thought to herself.
"You know, I almost feel sorry for that guy's kids."
Yumi whispered to Ami.
"Don't be rude."
She whispered back.
"This whole place is a joke, I dunno what caused Kaz to do this, but he must be born here to begin with, most of these competitors were really lacking music, and if these two are even worse, we're leaving."
"Look, I'll admit there is alot of weird in this town, but there has to be ways they show love, and these are the last ones, just hope they won't be terrible, you'll see.
They ended their conversation, Gumball and Darwin looked a people watching them and looking at each other, so they gave each other a nod and hope to give their all.
Song entry: Rock and Roll cover of "Nobody's a Nobody"
(Music starts)
Gumball: "You're my half brother and my fully-fledged friend!"
Darwin: "We're buddies forever from beginning to the end."
Gumball/Darwin: "Nobody's a nobody and everybody is weird like you and me!"
Darwin: "Don't have to look beside me to know that you are there!"
Gumball/Darwin: "If two things act as one are they still a pair? Nobody's a nobody and everybody is weird like you and me!"
As they were still playing, they got everyone's attention and they started to feel their bodies moving with the flow, even Yumi.
"I take it back, this is pretty good."
"Told ya, I mean I didn't think so too, but then there's other wise."
"I know one thing, it'll be worth a lot of moolah."
As they were still playing, Gumball and Darwin started to feel something different.
"Gumball?"
"Yeah?"
"Is this what it feels like to not be a loser?"
"I guess so."
"Well I like it!"
"Then, let's keep this thing going!"
He said as he and Darwin continued playing.
Gumball/Darwin: "You can walk, run, swim, roll, hop, skip, or fly. If we're going different ways, you're my kind of guy, Difference doesn't matter, if nobody's the same."
Gumball: "A space for every star in the great big sky."
Gumball/Darwin: "Do-Do-Do-Do-Do, Do-Do, Do-Do-Do-Do! Do-Do-Do-Do-Do, (Do-Do), Do Do-Do-Do! Nobody's a nobody and everybody is weird like you and me! Weird like you and me!"
(Music ends)
The entire audience was applauding for Gumball and Darwin who took a bow, and left the stage, Puffy AmiYumi we're discussing the best song.
"Well they all tried their best, but that last song may be the best I've ever heard, right Yumi?"
She then heard Yumi humming from Gumball and Darwin's song.
"umi-chan? Are you?"
She asked, making Yumi blush when she realized.
"Dag Nabbit! I can't get it out of my head! Stupid catchy tune."
To her, that's just another way of saying "it's good." Meanwhile backstage.
"DUDE THAT WAS AWESOME!! I didn't think we could pull it off!"
Darwin said.
"I didn't either, but glad we did though. I guess we were terrible at alot of things only because we haven't really experienced them."
Gumball admitted.
"Or because we're just lazy, well mostly you."
"Hey! That's my whole character, I'm more of a moaner than a doer."
After that, the Judges, Puffy AmiYumi, were still discussing the winner and then told the Principal Brown, while also telling him something else.
"And the winner is…"
Drumroll*
"Tobias "The Rock God" Wilson! (Yeesh! Terrible name)"
He said that last part to himself.
"Aw yeah! Told ya dorks you couldn't stand the chance!"
He said rubbing it in Gumball and Darwin's face and head upstage to claim victory, leaving Gumball and Darwin sighing, mostly Darwin.
"Well it was nice while it lasted."
"Yeah but look on the bright side, you were able to see your idols, and besides the world has given us this gift of being losers, they're are little people out there who have this role as well it's up not just to us, but those like us, to make sure this balance is stable, cuz if we don't keep do it, no one will, and the whole economy might collapse, I guess."
He said making Darwin feel a bit better and getting Goosebumps.
"Wow! That's pretty wise Dude, and a bit confusing at the same time, but mostly wise."
"Now come on let's get this makeup off us, go out and be the best losers we can be by doing a lot of stuff the best losers do."
He said as he and Darwin were walking towards the exit.
"Hey! You two!"
they immediately stopped hearing someone familiar from beind.
"Huh?"
They looked behind, seeing Ami and Yumi walking towards them.
"You're the Watterstorms, right?"
Ami asked in front of Darwin.
"…"
Unfortunately, Darwin froze and his heart was beating even crazier because he's actually standing in front of THE Puffy AmiYumi.
"Uhh… Uhh…"
He had no words, making the Girls feel a little awkward, so Gumball filled in for him.
"Excuse my brother, and to answer your question: Yes, why do you ask?"
"We like you to come back to the stage with us, there's something that might wanna make you stick around more."
Yumi said as she, Ami, with Gumball and Darwin following, went back to the stage to discover a huge plot twist.
"Attention! I like to apologize for what I just said, what I meant to say was, Tobias "The Rock God" Wilson is disqualified!"
Principal Brown stated.
"Hey! For what?"
Tobias asked.
"For making your own version of one of Puffy AmiYumi's songs!"
Gumball's, Darwin, and everyone gasped as they heard the news.
"You stole their song?!"
Darwin asked.
"No, I bought it."
"Jizoku suru! (Hold on) I don't remember that, Where and Who did you buy it from?"
Ami asked, making Tobias point at Kaz, who was slowly walking away whistling, until Gumball and Darwin blocked his path for the Girls to confront him.
"You Sold One Of Our Songs!?"
Yumi asked with frustration, making Kaz sweat drop like bullets.
"Well… you see… that's not how I remember- YES!! IT'S TRUE! IT'S ALL TRUE!!"
He cried, showing bags of money for proof, thus making everyone gasp.
"Kaz! Just what were you thinking?"
Ami asked.
"I had too, it was money! You know I can't resist! Besides, according to Paragraph 10, Sub-section 2, Article C of the Puffy AmiYumi Contracto, it states that "Kaz can sell any kind of Puffy AmiYumi song, as long as he owns the rights to begin with."
He said, showing out their contract for proof.
"See? So technically, the song is mine now."
Tobias said, with Ami and Yumi having vines on their foreheads.
"We really gotta do something about that contract."
She said to Ami who nodded in agreement.
"Hold up! Kaz-san, when exactly did he buy the song from you?"
Darwin asked.
"Right before the show began, why?"
"Well technically, in most scenarios, Bribing counts as a way of cheating, whether it's before, during, or even after an event."
"You're point?"
Tobias said.
"That the joke's on you dude, you already lost before the competition began."
"Wow, and I almost that thought you thought that we didn't have a chance."
Gumball said as Principal Brown, then looked in the rule book, and was astonished by Darwin's detective work when everything he said was true.
"Well I'll be gosh darned, He's right!"
"Wait, you mean I bought and lip-synced this song, with my dad's money, and paid juke, also with my dad's money without him noticing, to help me for nothing?!"
Tobias said, looking foolish revealing Juke the Boombox Head, who nervously waved.
"Actually now that I said it out loud, it does sound bad, doesn't it?"
"Oh, absolutely."
Gumball said, making him feel even more foolish with everyone booing him, Juke then gave back the money Tobias paid him and left with beatboxing along the way that no one understands.
"You know what, who cares, my dad's so rich that I can just buy this win without him noticing, even if it's in the rules or not."
"Eh Hem!"
"And he's standing right behind me, isn't he?"
He asked, turning around to see his dad who was furious with him.
"Dad! It's not what it looks like!"
"Really, so it doesn't look like that not only you cheated this whole time, but also bought stuff with my money!?"
"Ok, so it is what it looks like, but how did you even know?"
"I was literally just in the seats and heard everything out of you."
"Oh, now that makes sense."
"Well duh! What did you expect!?"
Said Gumball, Darwin, and the entire auditorium.
"You're Grounded! And I'll be taking my money back, thank you."
He said, snatching the bags of money out of Kaz's hand, who whined like a baby in front of everyone.
"Yeesh, and you said I was making a scene."
Richard said to Nicole who rolled her eyes with Anais doing a soft facepalm.
"OW! OW! OW!"
Tobias shouted as his dad grabbed him by his hair and took him out of the school.
"Well, now that that's over, the true winners are…"
Another Drumroll*
Puffy AmiYumi Nodded to Principal Brown.
"The Watterstorms!"
Everyone then applauded for Gumball and Darwin, who dropped their jaws to the center of the earth, literally.
"We won?"
"We won!"
"WE WON!! WE WON! WE WON! WE WON! WE WON!"
They said victory dancing.
"Wait, but what about keeping the balance stable?"
Darwin asked.
"Ah, Screw it! We'll let someone else have a turn in our shoes."
Gumball continued victory dancing.
"Congratulations, you two."
Ami said as she and Yumi carried a trophy giving it to them.
"I have to admit, You two weirdos weren't half bad as I thought."
Yumi said.
"Of course, not as good as we are."
Kaz said, making Yumi knock him on the head.
"Don't think we already forgot about what you did, we're having a talk later."
She said, making him gup nervously. Nicole, Richard, and Anais then came over to hug and congratulate their new "Idols."
"MY BOYS! MY LITTLE ROCKIN BOYS!"
Richard said, squeezing them so hard.
"We're so proud of you!"
Nicole said.
"I'm actually surprised you guys actually got through with it, I expected you to quit right in the middle of your montage."
She said, making Gumball give her a "Guess I proved you wrong, didn't I?" look, making Anais roll her eyes at him.
"Encore! Encore! Encore! Encore! Encore! Encore!"
They saw Everyone chanting for an Encore from both bands, Puffy AmiYumi and the Watterstorms.
"Well, I've been itching to get my rock on anyway."
Yumi said bringing out her guitar
"Whaddya say boys, wanna rock out with Puffy?"
She asked, making Darwin really speechless for his dream is about to become reality.
"It would be an honor!"
"I kinda wanted to ask you the same thing because Darwin- well, nevermind."
Gumball said, and so Puffy AmiYumi and the Watterstorms joined together to perform one more song, with Ami lead singer, Yumi lead guitar, Gumball second Guitar, and Darwin on Drums.
Yumi: "Who's ready to Rock and Roll?!"
Everyone cheered.
Darwin: "3-5-4-1-2-2-5-4!"
Song Entry: "Friends Forever."
(Music starts)
Ami/Yumi: "Just when I thought I have to make it alone, you were right there by my side"
Ami/Yumi: "Making a stand holding my hand, the way you do, Then to remind me of a "me and you"
Ami/Yumi: "When i'm with you all my fear disappears, If I reach I touch the sky"
Ami/Yumi: "You've got my back, pick up my slack when I can't see, But nothing picks me up like knowing we'll be."
Ami/Yumi: "Friends forever, Face whatever, Friends forever, Friends forever."
They kept on rocking and rolling the night away, having the time of their lives.
(Music ends)
The scene changes to after the encore, everyone was just leaving and the duos were about to say their goodbyes.
"Well, this was fun."
"What about all that stuff you said, this was gonna be a trainwreck?"
Ami asked, making Yumi giggle nervously and sweat drop.
"Thanks for stopping us from leaving, otherwise we wouldn't have won the competition."
Darwin said.
"Not to mention you getting your detective on."
Gumball said giving him a nugie.
"Dunno, guess watching detective movies really paid off."
"Your welcome… umm… sorry we didn't get your names."
Ami said.
"Darwin Raglan Caspian Ahab Poseidon Nicodemus Watterson III."
He said, doing a small bow.
"Zach Tristopher Watterson, well used to be, now everyone just calls me Gumball."
"Yeah, makes sense, cuz your head looks like a giant ball, and the color of it is blue bubblegum."
Yumi thought to herself.
"Well it was nice meeting you guys."
"We wanna do this again sometime, whenever we come across each other again? If you aren't busy with anything else, whaddya say?"
Darwin asked.
"Sure, can't see why not."
Ami said.
"Also, will you sign this?"
He showed a picture he made of Ami and Yumi, who looked all lovingly.
"Is this supposed to be us?"
"Yeah, I made this a long time ago."
"Oh! So that's what you were talking about."
He said making Darwin give him a look at him with a vine on his forehead.
"Sugoi! (Cool) This looks so cool, I love it!"
Ami said.
"Yeah, you got my looks just about right."
Yumi said as she and Ami signed their names on Darwin's picture, then Richard was honking the horn on his car countless times.
"Well it sounds like we have to go now."
Gumball said as Kaz did the same in the Puffy Bus.
"Us too."
Yumi said, the duos waved goodbye to each other and rushed to their vehicles, with Darwin really happy.
"This was the best day of my life."
"I'm proud of you Darwin, you got to follow your dream and made it into reality."
"Thanks dude, couldn't have done it with you."
And they fist bump on it, meanwhile in the Puffy Bus.
"Out of all the folks we've met today, I have to say those 2 we're pretty amazing, in their own way."
Ami said.
"Yeah, they may look like ding-dongs, even though they are, but deep down they're hardcore, not as hardcore as us, but good enough, and you were right, Elmore is a weird place, but it's normal for them, and has a big heart."
Yumi said.
"Told ya."
Then the two vehicles went in separate ways, until they bumped into each other really hard when backing up, Richard and Kaz got out to see the damage on their own vehicles.
"Thanks a lot pal! I'm suing you for this!"
Kaz said.
"Oh no! Don't take this all out on me! You're the one who…"
Richard said, and our scene blacks out with them arguing, making the other Wattersons and Puffy AmiYumi looking at each other with annoyance and facepalmed.
Question: If Gumball and Puffy AmiYumi was ever a crossover band, what would be the perfect name "Puffy-Storms or Stormy AmiYumi?" I don't know which one's better, so your opinion.
