I have had some reviews and have taken them to heart, just remember I am doing my best and I am not a professional.
Deep under the bank of Gringotts and it's vaults a meeting was underway, surrounded by many armed guards in an ornate marble room with golden symbols on the walls were several goblins sat at an equally ornate table the head of the table sat in a golden throne was the goblin king Rognok father of Ragnok who was sat on his right, on his left was his bodyguard simply known as fear, and stood before them was Hydecutter who had just finished explaining the latest developments with Harry,
"It was about an hour after the Director returned to Hogwarts we detected an internal delivery so I returned to his office to discover this file on the table," Hydecutter explained,
Ragnok leaned forward slightly "and what have you learned?"
"Well, as you know the reason we have not gone to war with them over this flagrant insult is Director Evans stated explicitly he had not decided if we would yet, as is his right as the wronged party we have respected that," he began to flick through the file Harry had sent, "It seems like he does not wish to alert our enemies that we have information they don't want released," he chuckled, "and it also looks like Director Evans has been working on our problem for a while, as you know the last Supreme Mugwump one Albus Dumbledore was quashing the evidence we attempted to send and his supporters who are still there are doing the same," he placed the file before them open at a specific page "And this is the reason why Director Evans is entering,"
The King and his son looked over the documents as predatory smiles spread across their faces.
"Make sure he has everything he needs for this plan," the king ordered, "He may not have our lust for battle but he certainly has our cunning, he is a credit to our old allies," he complimented.
As other matters were discussed between the king and his son, Hydecutter and two of the guards left to follow the king's commands.
Harry was debating weather or not to reveal himself to his headmistress or not, he was one of her students after all but he was also the famous boy who lived. While he pondered he decided to have a chat to the Durmstrang students as he was not only curious about their school but also fed up with the british wizards practically drooling with worship in his direction.
Victor Krum and the other students from Durmstrang were a little standoffish at first but it was still better than the Hogwarts bunch who were either falling over themselves to worship him or utterly terrified of him, he reasoned it was the armor making him look a little intimidating. After several minutes talking and asking questions they relaxed and opened up, Victor Krum was actually quite talkative when he relaxed. Harry was told many things, Durmstrang took only pure-blood students and had extensive classes on the non magical world and courses to educate them to a good standard in both mundane and magical studies. However Durmstrang had a sister school, Urststrang, which took only non magical raised students and taught them the inverse of Durmstrang covering magical etiquette and history, and also common things in the magical world such as how to identify magical entrances to magical areas. When Harry alluded to how Hogwarts wasn't even close to their schools Victor spoke up,
"It is quite bad manners to speak ill of your host, but in your case it is quite acceptable to speak ill of your kidnapper," they all began to laugh.
He was finding it harder to find a space to sleep as Stumbledork seemed to be getting better at finding him, this last time he had been alerted by his wards but could see nothing in the abandoned classroom, so he began blasting the place apart blowing up desks shattering chairs only to see the door fly open, he made a grab but only got hold of what appeared to be an invisibility cloak. The cloak was something special, he could tell thanks to his extensive rune training that this was no ordinary invisibility cloak, it was obviously too risky to use so he sent it to gringotts for analysis, he did fell guilty for stealing but then remembered the sight of a fleeing Bumbledork and the guilt quickly went away. It was the next morning when he spotted the Daily Prophet that he had a very devious idea that made him chuckle evilly.
Rita Skeeter was riding high, using her acid whit and sharp quill to puncture pompous twits brought her much satisfaction, and her interest was defiantly piqued when she received an invitation to interview Harry Potter himself at the three broomsticks. She wasted no time and made a room reservation as he had requested, and stated a time to meet, she wondered what he'd look like, probably a strapping young man with those haunting green eyes...
Harry had prepared well for the interview, as he headed towards the Three Broomsticks he reviewed what he was going to say, it would be the complete truth of course but having received education from the goblins he was fairly good at the art of 'spin'.
Rita was impressed with the young man, he had obviously been through a lot and had managed to come through it with a functioning moral compass, others had been through much less and come out twisted. Harry and Skeeter talked about a lot of things even the way the ministry makes british laws, something Rita described as "more pomp and circumstance than actually doing their jobs" and then began to inform him of the corruption that she couldn't touch for fear of reprisals, he made sure to remember this as it seemed likely connected to what Luna had told him. On his way back to that blasted castle he popped into the local paper shop and bought himself a subscription to the Daily Prophet.
Harry headed for the Beauxbatons carriage he had decided he needed to tell not only Madam Maxine but also Fleur, he knew she would be upset if he didn't, also being in his armor all the time was driving him coocoo.
Madam Maxine was having a small evening meal when a knock came as her door, she was surprised to see who entered,
"Mademoiselle Delacour, monsieur Potter, 'ow may I 'elp you this evening?" she asked curiously,
as Harry reached to his belt and turned the dial on his pocket watch Fleur spoke up, "Madam Maxine allow me to introduce Harry Potter or as you may remember him Harison Evans, third year student of Beauxbatons,"
Harry held out a familiar looking contract, "Madam Maxine, I mean no disrespect but I do need to protect myself, please read over this and sign if you find it acceptable,"
Madam Maxine was a big help, she allowed Harry to stay in the carriage with his fellow students and so Dumbledore couldn't get to him as the protections on the carriage kept him out. It came as quite a shock to see two of her student transform into birds, and it was more of a shock to find out that the younger student was the one who taught the older one, other shocks would follow as she found out everything and she became quite enraged when he described his treatment by the Dursleys and provided her with a copy of the daily prophet published at the time.
It was the next morning when he received two things, a copy of the daily prophet, and a letter from Gringotts the headline in the paper made him smile as he tore open the letter. Dumbledore was enraged and began blowing up his office, on his desk a copy of the daily Prophet with the headline 'IS DIMBLEDORE TRYING TO KILL HARRY POTTER?' he didn't know what was infuriating him more the headline or the fact they spelled his name wrong.
Fleur knew Harry was trying to send her a hint because he was as subtle as a brick, the carriage had books about dragons left on literally every surface you could fit a book, when she asked him his simply said,
"Actually I am just really interested in dragons for some reason, I certainly don't know what is involved in the tasks and since we are bound by magical contracts to compete against each other it also stands to reason I cannot directly help you," it took her a few minutes to work out what he said,
Victor Krum and the other Durmstrang students were enjoying their breakfast when Harry poked his head over Victor's shoulder,
"Hey Victor, since you play quidditch, you ever play against a romanian team? was their mascot a dragon? you know a fire breathing dragon? with scales and everything? can you imagine trying to get past a dragon with nothing but your wand? scary! that would be quite a task wouldn't it?" and with that he trotted off to take a potion to cure the headache he had gained from coming close to violating the contract.
Harry had considered giving hints to the other tasks as well but had decided dealing with the first would be hard enough, and thanks to the headache he had gotten when 'telling' Victor he knew he'd have to be more careful.
