Hunt For The Mystical Medals

First off, many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here the current story arc picks up where the last chapter left, in which the Gunsmith Cats are on the move as they appear in this chapter.
This chapter acts as an aftermath from the last chapter as Megure and his squad are rounding up the drug suspects…but something unexpected is about to happen…

As Megure instructed the police to take the captured suspects to the nearest police station to have them booked and undergo interrogation, the suspects are shown to be defiant as they refused to be interrogated and want to keep working with the drug trade, yet they are bordering in admitting defeat as they were already disarmed and handcuffed inside the police van.
"Damn…"
"Its over…"
"My dreams of easy money…"
"Blast those cops…"
"Damn…"

Then they remembered something and they glanced at each other, recalling that they made a business deal with another drug trading group, the Toujougumi, in which they were told that to escape police custody, they should consume a pill given to them, as it would give them SUPER POWERS.
The arrested suspects realized that this would be their chance to get away, kill the police and resume working for Grey, as trading illegal drugs is their only means of earning easy money.
"I'm going to get out of here…"
"I want to kill those damn cops…"
"Work for Gray again…"

The suspects then took out the secret pill that was secretly hidden inside their socks, and are now ready to consume it. What they did not know is that the drug they are about to take is the enigmatic WILD ADAPTER, and the suspects told one another that they are going to break free and take out the cops and find Grey in order to resume working for him, which they agree enthusiastically with one another.
"Okay…we make a break for it. You guys ready?"
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
"Yeah."
Outside the warehouse, the cops came out and told Megure that they have collected all of the illegal drugs that are being used for transaction and said that this has to be the biggest haul in the last decade, and said that the ones running the warehouse is so organized that no one would ever suspect that such a transaction is taking place.
Megure is concerned and instructed the squad leader to exert efforts in interrogating the suspects in order to extract information on who is running the syndicate and who are the contacts, as well as to make sure that the corrupt cops will not get special treatment or have access to any politician who might use his influence to bail the corrupt cops out.
The squad leader nodded and assured to Megure that he will not be intimidated into letting the arrested corrupt cops go free even when threatened.
"Can you promise me on That?"
"Yes sir!"
"Make sure to perform your duty."
"Yes sir!"
"Don't let anyone try to influence the investigation."
"Yes sir!"
"And let me know if anyone attempt to bribe you. I will deal with them."
"Yes sir!"
Amid all this, Megure and the cops are unaware of what is happening inside the police van, as something terrifying is about to take place in a matter of seconds.

At the Metropolitan Police Department, Juzo Megure is at Not far, the two men watched the police doing a clearing operation which saw the cops collecting the illegal drugs used for business transactions, and felt that things are okay now, as the secret drug trade has been dismantled yet they are confident that Grey will be captured sooner or later.
"Looks like things went well. You sure saved the day, Gotoh."
"Not really, Toudou."
"You don't have to be modest. It was your experience as a policeman that led to the dismantling of this cartel."
"But the one running it made a clean getaway."
"If we ran into him, then we'll get him."
"I…see…"
"Okay…we better go now."
"…"
As they are about to depart, Toudou tells Gotoh that his training will continue as he will show him how to harness the Birth Driver's capabilities yet he also cautioned that the one Gotoh has is a prototype model, hence there may be some limitations, yet Gotoh said it is okay.
"You sure, Gotoh?"
"Yes."
"I say this…the prototype driver that you have may not have the same capabilities offensively or defensively…hence you might…"
"It's fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. This is better than nothing."
"So we're all set?"
"Yes."
Nodding, Toudou and Gotoh are about to leave, but then they saw the corrupt cops attempting to plead to Megure to let them make a phone call claiming that they wanted to get a lawyer, which Megure refused and said that a lawyer will be provided to them, reasoning that the lawyers they requested are said to be connected to politicians that have links to other drug syndicates.
Hence, Megure will be the ones to provide a lawyer to the corrupt cops, which they flatly refused.
"No way!"
"I refuse!"
"We want our own lawyer!"
"I have my rights!"
"No way!"

By then Kogoro Mori came, having heard of the incident, and is surprised when told of what happened, and then became more surprised upon seeing the arrested corrupt cops, along with the incriminating evidence which is enough to charge them and dashing any Hope's of posting bail.
The corrupt cops were quivering upon being seen by Kogoro, and there he told Megure not to let any influential politician or Diet official try to influence the investigation, which Megure assured that he will not let anyone interfere with the investigation.
Slowly caving in to pressure, the corrupt cops pleaded for mercy in the hopes that they won't be prosecuted.
"I AM SORRY!"
"FORGIVE US!"

"THE YOUKAI MADE ME DO IT!"
"PLEASE FORGIVE US!"
"WE'LL DO ANYTHING!"
Suddenly, loud banging sounds are heard from the police van, and Kogoro observed it before noticing that dents are forming from the sides of the van, and told Megure about it, and Megure became worried as more dents are formed after the banging became louder by the second.
Megure told the cops to be ready and gave them permission to open fire if the situation calls for it which the cops nodded, as they are seen becoming cautious as the sides of the police van are denting, to the point of about to give way.
"Yes sir!"
"Yes sir!"

As the cops cautiously approached the police van they were startled as the sides of the van gave way, which it got wrecked, and the suspects emerged, where they are covered in fur and sported claws and fangs, looking like wild beasts, and both Megure and Kogoro stared in horror at what they just saw just now.
Megure then told the cops to take action fearing that they are about to be attacked.
"Yes sir!"

Toudou and Gotoh came back as they heard the loud banging coming from the police van, and saw what emerged, and this made Toudou baffled as to what happened to the arrested suspects and why they looked like MONSTERS.
It was then that Gotoh recalled something about hearing a case involving dead victims covered in fur and sporting claws and fangs, and there he said that during his time at the police force, he heard rumors about the so-called Wild Adapter, a mysterious drug which traces of it were ERASED from the users' bloodstreams, hence identifying it became somewhat quite impossible to investigate.
"You serious?"
"Yeah."
"A drug that couldn't be analyzed?"
"That's what I heard."
"…"
"Its because the traces of that drug seemingly disappeared from the users' bloodstreams…hence even with blood tests and autopsy seemingly couldn't…"
"That is rough…"
"Indeed…"
Their discussion was interrupted as shots were fired and there they saw the arrested suspects making their move and began slaughtering the cops, and both Megure and Kogoro were surprised to see the suspects acting ferocious like wild animals, and despite being shot by the cops, the arrested suspects, powered by the Wild Adapter, were not deterred and continue their bloodfest.

Seeing that the cops are about to lose and may result in the corrupt cops attempting to escape, both Toudou and Gotoh put on the Birth Drivers and slots a Cell Medal before toggling the lever, initiating their transformation into Kamen Rider Birth and Kamen Rider Proto-Birth respectively.
There Toudou tells Gotoh to get the escaped felons' attention and have them stay in one place as he will summon the Breast Cannon and charge a strong blast to weaken them to a degree.
Gotoh asked Toudou if he is sure, which Toudou tells him to trust him on this, which Gotoh reluctantly nodded in reply.
"Believe me on this!"
"…"
"It will work!"
"I…"
"Trust me on this!"
"Okay."
"Good. Now go!"
"Right!"
Proto-Birth then went forward, brought out the Cell Blaster and opened fire, getting the escaped suspects' attention and the plot worked, as the suspects, powered by the effects of the Wild Adapter, began charging forward, and Proto-Birth moved back, luring them away from the injured cops and led them to an open field, where Birth summoned the Breast Cannon and slots several Cell Medals into the Birth Driver, powering the Breast Cannon, and there he told Proto-Birth to get out of the way.
As Proto-Birth did so, Birth opened fire, shooting a high-charged Cell Burst, hitting the group which sent them back before hitting the ground, seemingly weakening them.
Both Birth and Proto-Birth carefully approached the downed suspects, and carefully checked them, where they appeared to be dazed, but then they convulsed as their internal organs inside their bodies EXPLODED, which they vomited blood before going still, and that slowly killed them.
Birth wondered if he went overboard but Proto-Birth said that it could be a side effect of the Wild Adapter, stating that whenever a corpse is found and autopsy is performed, the victims' internal organs are found destroyed, and said that this mysterious drug played a role in this.
"You serious?"
"Yeah."
"So a drug like that could cause something like that?"
"That's what I heard."
"…"
"It seems that this drug is designed to act like that…probably to make it untraceable…hence it somewhat became a commodity among drug dealers…"
"That is rough…"
"Indeed…"
Proto-Birth saw Megure radioing for backup and ambulance, and told Birth that they need to move out, and both of them took their leave after making sure that the corrupt cops won't be going anywhere.
As ambulances and more policemen arrived, both Birth and Proto-Birth are already gone, and there Megure told Kogoro to be careful, which the latter nodded while wondering who the two armored men are, wishing to thank them for saving their lives.
