just so you know I write the plot first, things like structure and punctuation I will do after the story is done. I know some people get frustrated but I like having feedback as to plot points, so I can iron out the story elements before I go back and polish everything, I have put a little more thought into my grammar but story first, grammar second. If that bugs you just wait till I am done, I don't have a beta writer to do that for me so just try to ignore the problems and enjoy the story.

I do not own harry potter or DC I am simply a fan writing a fic.

Harry came to consciousness in what was certainly a hospital, the smell of disinfectant and the quiet beeps of the various monitors made that quite clear. It was a standard room, tv, window, bed, curtain around said bed and a heaven sent bathroom!

After washing his hands he glanced out the window and could see he was in a city, as he watched the people milling below, the traffic, and some birds he tried to remember how he got here. He remembered some things, and 'knew' some things, some asshat with too much hair gel hurting a small girl, Voldemort and his band of murder hobos, rage, and... siblings? he had two sisters and brothers? but two were dead? no not dead, something else? his thoughts were interrupted when the door opened and a nurse entered.

Harry loved hospitals for all the good they did, it's just that he, like most people, didn't really like being admitted to one. Luckily he had found his pouch and watch in his room as well as his clothes, apparently his sister had made sure they were there. He had been able to organise his thoughts and what he suddenly knew, first he knew that 'higher' beings would recognise him, whatever a 'higher being' was he wasn't sure. He knew that he was something called an Aspect as were his siblings, his little sister had put him where he 'needed' to be, and he had to learn and grow. He still had no idea why he was here, or precisely what 'learn and grow' ment but first things first, Gringotts.

After finding a suitably secluded place Harry took flight in bird form and began to look for signs of an entrance to a magical district, most large cities had one even if it was small, his keen eyesight spotted a man enter a phonebooth and vanish. Harry was shocked at this entrance as it was not well hidden, what shocked him more was several non magicals saw the person vanish and treated it like someone stepping on a bus, completely normal. The magical district was also a culture shock as many storefronts used modern tech like flat screens to advertise their products, he saw many non magical products being sold as well, hopefully Gringotts would have answers.

several hours later

Harry emerged from the phonebooth and began walking his head was spinning, how had he been ignorant of all this?! the conversation with the branch manager Riptendon had been shocking and also gave him a lot of hope, the european magicals had him convinced that magic equalled stupid.

It had apparently started as far back as the 1940's, the magical congress had sent out obliviators to remove memories from non magicals of a building being protected by some sort of green ward or spell from a german bomb, but they found no magicals responsible just some guy with a ring, fortunately they reported back rather than engage him. It soon became apparent that many fantastical things were being done but no magic was involved, they learned it was special individuals with powers. As time went on many magical people began to wonder why they were hiding, these 'superheros' were doing incredible things and instead of being persecuted, they were celebrated. It was only a year later when a single magical, a Mr Nelson, used the repair charm on a bombed building, and the obliviators under orders asked questions first, the non magical witnesses said that some super powered person helped out, when asked about if they thought it was magic the most common response was something along the lines of,

"Maybe, or some superpower, who cares as long as it works?"

This was the start of change, as years passed magicals began operating a little more openly, they were still overly cautious, but persecution and hate never came, in fact persecution and hate began to be forced back, people who unjustly had no rights fought for them and gained them. This change in attitude from the non magicals began to change the magical laws as they began to seem outdated and foolish, and the heavy restrictions began to be removed. Modern America as well as most of the world now had abolished the statute of secrecy as it seemed utterly pointless, although the magical community is still mostly hidden it's more due to things already being in place and habits being slow to change.

Europe was still playing catch up, but change had already began there, the only holdout was the U.K due to the isolation of being an island, and the fact that the rulers were keeping things the same so they could hold on to power.

Harry began to explore the city, it was clean and well laid out, parks and statues were fairly common, but the biggest landmark was the massive suspension bridge that connected the halves of the city. After several hours of exploring Harry found a small bed & breakfast and hired the cheapest room for the night. He pulled from his pouch a small trunk which he unshrunk, he had been lucky that the district had a fairly upmarket trunk store and had a 'full house' trunk in stock, he climbed down into a nice comfy sitting room and set about making some supper before turning in for the night, as he settled into bed he had the feeling that he should take a walk around the city again tomorrow, he also needed to send some messages to his friends.

Harry got responses fairly quickly, Fleur and Brice had chosen to become healers, whereas Mina had decided to join him in america after he second school life was done. She had always hated the pureblood arrogance and unfounded superiority, but like many British magicals had never found out that the world had changed. Sirius and Perenelle were working on several projects he had apparently asked them for as was Nick, he was surprised when they told him what it was and wondered why they would need such a large undertaking.

After making sure his friends and family were alright and knew he was ok, he went for a long walk around the city, not going anywhere in particular just letting himself wander. The people seemed fairly normal and well adjusted folks you'd find anywhere, just ordinary people going about their business. As he headed down one street though a shout came from across the road as an old lady had her purse grabbed and the thief took off running, this presented Harry with an opportunity as he made a small gesture and the thief found his legs bound together for a split second causing him to faceplant and skid to a halt.

Harry waited and watched, he was waiting for the local magical law enforcement to show up, and was watching the old lady take her purse back and promptly beat the thief over the head with it. The now bruised and grateful thief was put in the back of a police cruiser, Harry waited for a while but no magical official turned up but none did, it seemed that it was true and magic was not restricted anymore.

It seemed obvious what he was supposed to do, after all magic was not monitored, and he had a costume ready to go, Harry decided to jump in with both feet.
