Hunt For The Mystical Medals

Many thanks to those who reviewed this fic, I really appreciated it and this gave me inspiration to work on the next chapter and here a new story arc commences…and here you will see the aftermath of what happened following the previous chapters…and how this affects the side characters of Detective Conan…now that something unexpected is about to happen…which would commence right about now…

Meanwhile, the scene shifts at Doctor Maki's secret safehouse, where Maki and Kazari stood in front of the table where a Candroid is there showing a projection of what took place just now, and while Maki stared at it in a deadpan manner, Kazari is baffled as he wondered why five of the purple Core Medals went to Kyuji, and is apprehensive that this might cause unexpected problems.

Maki, however, assured that there won't be any problems whatsoever, saying that despite what occurred, Kyuji won't pose a threat to either of them, which Kazari asked why the five purple Core Medals went to Kyuji, Maki gave an insight on what he deduced so far.

"If I have to make a guess…perhaps the purple Core Medals deemed him a suitable vessel."

"You serious…?"

"If that's what I deduce…"

"Would that make him capable of…"

"I believe that Kyuji Hino would not pose a problem for us "

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"…"

The scene shifts at the table where four of the remaining purple Core Medals are laid there, and a closer look shows what the Core Medals are, identified as the following:

- Dimetrodon

- Styracosaurus

- Anurognathus

- Stegosaurus

As Maki and Kazari are about to discuss their next move, the four purple Core Medals glowed before vibrating, and Kazari backed away while Maki glanced at them, sensing that something is happening at the moment.

Ch. 165: Murasaki no medaru, kyōryū, chimei-tekina konbo part 5

The scene shifts at the nearest hospital where Gotoh, Toudou, Ran, Shiho and Ankh are waiting, and there a doctor came, carrying an x-ray film and told Gotoh and the others that Kyuji is doing fine and needs some rest, saying that he is probably fatigued, which surprised them as the doctor showed the x-ray which shows that Kyuji's body is normal.

As the doctor left, Gotoh, Toudou, Ran and Shiho are baffled, and Ankh explained that due to the mystical nature of the Core Medals, technological tools cannot detect them, and as they wondered where the purple Core Medals came from, Gotoh began to deduce that the purple Core Medals might be the ones that Maki stole, which surprised the rest.

"Huh?"

"What?"

"Seriously?"

"From the looks of it…"

"No way…"

"I can't believe this…"

"That Maki is a madman…"

"No doubt about it…"

By then Kyuji came and is dressed up, and showed no signs of any adverse effects of the Core Medals, and there Gotoh and the others checked on him, asking if he is really okay.

"Huh? Guys…?"

"Kyuji!"

"Are you okay?"

"Nothing wrong with you?"

"N-no…I'm fine…"

"You sure?"

"Not feeling anything weird?"

"Let us know if…"

Several minutes later, Satonaka went inside Kougami's office, informing him of what happened, which he appeared to be quite surprised, as he did not expect something like this to happen, though Kougami had a feeling that something NEW is bound to take place soon, and Satonaka wondered if Maki anticipated this kind of situation, which Kougami said that Maki probably anticipated this unexpected development by now.

"Its likely that Maki is aware."

"From the looks of it, sir."

"Perhaps."

"I believe that Maki has anticipated something like this would happen…"

"As expected of him."

"But now that five of the purple Core Medals are inside Kyuji Hino's body…"

"…which means…something new is about to be born…"

"About that…"

In response, Satonaka said that the debacle caused Ankh to lose one of his Core Medals, thus Kyuji won't be able to use the TaJaDor Combo, though Kougami said that for now they would have to anticipate what would happen next now that half of the purple Core Medals went inside Kyuji's body.

And hence, it's possible that Kyuji might gain a new Combo, though it would depend on how the events would play out before making their next move.

"For now we should monitor Kyuji Hino...I am certain something is about to take place.

"Do you think that would help our situation, sir?"

"I'm confident that it will be."

"What about Doctor Maki? It's safe to assume that he probably has half of the purple Core Medals..."

"We will thread that when the time comes. For now we should focus on Hino."

"Very well."

"Good."

Later that night, Kogoro Mori paid a visit at Professor Agasa's home, and there he was told of what happened, and Kogoro began smoking a cigarette as he is worried, especially with the fact that Ankh has been significantly weakened following the loss of the Condor Medal to Uva, and there's no telling what would happen next given the nature of the purple Core Medals inside Kyuji's body.

Agasa assured that things would be okay, though Kogoro said that he is worried if things happen unexpectedly, such as what if Conankh showed up and attempted to take down Ankh; the purple Core Medals reacted by itself and the such, but Agasa said that all they can do now is hope for the best.

"For now we should monitor Ankh, Shinichi and Kyuji...I am certain something unexpected is about to take place. And I can't say it would be good…"

"Do you think that would worsen the situation, sir?"

"We'll just have to brace ourselves, Professor Agasa."

"I see..."

"In the event that when the worst case scenario happens…we will brace ourselves for what may happen."

"Very well."

"Good."

Ran came and assured to her dad that things would be fine, though he tells his daughter to be careful given the fact that she and Shinichi are facing multiple enemies up front, from the Black Organization to the Greed and now Maki, which she said that she and the others will be more careful from now on.

"Be careful, Ran. We're facing a harsh battle up ahead."

"Yes, daddy."

"And look out for Ankh. He is currently using Shinichi's body. He's the only one who is keeping Shinichi alive up until now."

"Yes, daddy."

"And make sure you both stay alive."

"Yes, daddy."

"You understand?"

"Yes, daddy."

The next day, the scene shifts at a mall where Gotoh, Toudou, Ran, Shiho, Kyuji, Kogoro and Ankh are doing some window-shopping as they are anticipating that Uva might show up and attempt to spawn a Yummy, and as they are looking around, the scene shifts at a rooftop where two unidentified brings are staring at the scene below, watching people doing their daily lives.

A closer look soon reveals that the two beings at the rooftop turn out to be a pair of Pterodactyl Yummies, and they appeared to have a compulsion to render anything, and everything living extinct. They noted so many people moving and the two Pterodactyl Yummies feels like having a buffet to consume.

"Look at that…"

"So many living…"

"A wonderful sight to behold…"

"And to take it away."

"Lets begin…"

"Yes…and render everything extinct…"

"Shall we…?"

"Of course."

The two Pterodactyl Yummies swoop down and flew just above the pedestrians and vehicles, which surprised everyone, and this caused them to get terrified at seeing two MONSTERS flying, sending everyone in a panic.

"EEEEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKKKKYYYYYYAAAAHHHH!"

"WWWWWWAAAAAHHHH!"

"HHHHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!"

"EEEEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKKKKYYYYYYAAAAHHHH!"

"WWWWWWAAAAAHHHH!"

"HHHHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!"

The two Pterodactyl Yummies then emit black smoke, which spreads and as it made contact with people, they started to choke before DISSOLVING, leaving nothing but empty clothes, and the other pedestrians saw this and became more terrified and a stampede ensued as people are now scrambling for safety, not wanting to get killed by the Pterodactyl Yummies.

"EEEEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKKKKYYYYYYAAAAHHHH!"

"WWWWWWAAAAAHHHH!"

"HHHHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!"

"EEEEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKKKKYYYYYYAAAAHHHH!"

"WWWWWWAAAAAHHHH!"

"HHHHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!"

A passing police car saw the stampede, and the two cops gasped upon seeing what is happening, especially after seeing the two Pterodactyl Yummies, which the two cops believe that they are just amateur murderers cosplaying and using some hidden devices, and foolishly chose to confront them instead of calling for backup.

They aimed their guns at the two Yummies and ordered them to surrender, much to the two Yummies' amusements, seeing how foolish humans can be.

"Okay, you freaks!"

"Don't move!"

"Or we open fire!"

"We mean it!"

"Look at that…"

"So foolish…and this makes it easy."

"Shall we…?"

"Of course."

The two Pterodactyl Yummies then used their claws to slash the two cops on their throats, almost decapitating them yet they were killed on the spot, and this further terrified the pedestrians seeing that the two cops laid on the ground dead and in a pool of their own blood, further causing panic on the streets as they ran for their lives.

"EEEEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKKKKYYYYYYAAAAHHHH!"

"WWWWWWAAAAAHHHH!"

"HHHHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!"

"EEEEEEKKKK!"

"KKKKKKKYYYYYYAAAAHHHH!"

"WWWWWWAAAAAHHHH!"

"HHHHHHEEEEELLLPPPPP!"
