Proud Parent: Suicidal Indeed.

SentinalSlice: First, He is disgusted rather than angry. Second, it is Classless Gilgamesh, (Fate Extra CCC). He is much more human than the Fate Stay Night version of Gilgamesh. And that didn't stop Gilgamesh from attacking Shizuka/ Sun Wukong... so did he really care?

Aline 1: So you are interested in Babylonian antiquity?

What is the most ancient city for the Babylonians? Babylon, Eridu, Lagash, or Sippar (which also claims to be the oldest city in the world)?

Well... all of them...

It must be understood that before the Archaeologists and Historians of the nineteenth century put their noses in the old clay tablets of this civilization keen to have a clear understanding of Mesopotamian mythology, many different versions of the myth of creation and world history coexisted.

For example, the Assyrians placed Assur (or Ashur) their sun god (a local god) at the head of the Mesopotamian pantheon. So there are many variations of the Mesopotamian pantheon and its hierarchy that existed simultaneously.

"Eridu is the oldest city in the world" is a simple sentence, easy to understand and that cannot be interpreted differently than is literal meaning... except for a Babylonian... because the word 'Eridu' can designate any city... Eridu simply means 'The Good City' (it's the literal translation of the word 'eridu') and for a Mesopotamian the Good City it is necessarily Babylon, Um no, Sippar... Um, actually I meant Lagash... * laugh* I mean literally any great city of Mesopotamia can be called 'Eridu' by its inhabitants.

I don't think you understand yet. I'll try another way.

We modern men have a very divisive view of the world. It's O or 1, good or bad, white or black.

But it's not the case for the Babylonians.

A good example is the relationship between Marduk and his son Nabu.

Originally, ('sun calf' in Sumerian, also known as 'Marduk' his name in Babylonian) is the local sun god of the very minor city of Babylon. In early Sumerian mythology, the sun god is not very popular. Mesopotamia is close to deserts, the sun scorches the land, and no one like it. It is only gradually, that the 'talent' of the solar god to watch men from heaven and reveal their darkness (as the sun casts a shadow, the god Marduk reveals the evil in the human heart) has earned him a higher and higher place among the gods until he usurps the first seat (in the 12 century's poem Enumah Elish or 'Epic of the Creation').

But Babylon is a society where the scripture has a very important place. It is a 'magic' power. The scribes make the stone speak, see the past, and even read in the star and the organs of the animals (the Babylonian scribes are also astrologers, diviners, and exorcists). It's a gift bestowed to humanity by Nabu.

So there is a strong opposition between the clergy of the two gods, a violent rivalry.

Do you know how the kings of Babylon solved it?

Nabopolassar created two great temples, one for Marduk, and one for Nabu. The King built in the temple of Nabu a chapel for Marduk, and he built in the temple of Marduk, a chapel of Nabu.

BUT the temple of Marduk had the same name as the chapel of Nabu, and the temple of Nabu had the same name as the chapel of Marduk.

When a king of Babylon published a royal edict, he said that he did so in the name of the gods and in accordance with divine rule. Normally, the gods were mentioned according to their hierarchical position. Makes sense so far, doesn't it? But Nabopolassar only mentioned the name of the religious building (the house of the god) without specifically saying whether it was a temple or a chapel... It is therefore impossible to know (and it is voluntary) if the text is dedicated to the god Marduk living in a chapel of the Temple of Nabu or to the god Nabu living in a chapel of the great temple of the god Marduk.

This prevented the kings from taking sides in the dispute of precedence between Nabu and Marduk...

But this is not an isolated case. Many Babylonian texts can have two meanings.

Sun Wukong

Nikkō was a small mountain town located 140 km from Tokyo.

As usual, apart from its famous monastery, which attracted tourists from all over the world, it was a small town with no history.

Although...

All cars were stopped in the streets; some had hit walls or poles before coming to a stop.

One could hear music or TV from open windows... but they were the only human voices.

The inhabitants had disappeared, leaving only a few piles of torn clothes.

But the streets were full of monkeys. Many were Japanese macaques, native to the archipelago... but there were also central African monkeys like gorillas or chimpanzees, orangutans from Borneo, tree monkeys from America, and north-African baboons shouting and gesticulating.

They could be seen crowding the streets, climbing trees, climbing walls to enter abandoned houses through windows, breaking everything inside, tearing curtains, throwing objects into the street, or striking pots together.

A terrible cacophony echoed in the streets, as if... well as if tens of thousands of excited monkeys had gathered in the streets.

The truth was that Nikkō had not been abandoned and invaded by monkeys... the inhabitants of the city had been transformed into monkeys.

Thousands of them had gone after a small group that was fleeing. The monkeys would run on the ground, on all fours, jumping from one building to another, shouting and gesticulating aggressively.

Yuri Mariya cried out in surprise when a perverted macaque sprang to... uh... snuggle his head against her breasts.

Others were already catching up and tripping her. Delighted by the capture they had just achieved, the other monkeys jumped on the spot before turning to the young Hime-Miko and looking at her with a concupiscent look. As they got closer...

"Get out! Get out!"

Goudou Kusanagi threw himself on the monkeys, chasing them with his fists and feet. He was furious. Usually, he would hold his punches when faced with innocent victims of a Heretic God...

But now it was the last straw.

His sister was possessed by Sun Wukong. Godou was completely disarmed in front of this God of Steel. If he had attacked the monkey king, he would have endangered his sister. And then the Heretic God turned the people of Nikkō into monkeys, an army that existed only to serve him.

Erica Blandelli had made herself the voice of reason by grasping his hand and pushing him to flee. "Godou, let's withdraw for the moment, we need to plan to defeat Sun Wukong."

Of course, the Campione could not face an army of bewitched victims... except that to add insult to injury, Sun Wukong mocked the Campione on the run, calling him with contempt 'Kusanagi brat' and 'coward'.

The first macaque that Godou caught took up... propelled by a punch... and hit a wall with such violence that the rubble broke, raising a cloud of dust. A kick catapulted another macaque to a roof.

Yuri rose up quickly... readjusting her clothes that had been harmed by those perverse monkeys.

"Are you all right?"

Red-faced, the Hime-Miko nodded.

The first group of monkeys had scattered in terror, but others were already arriving... and, for them, courage was a matter of number. They shouted and waved their arms aggressively, turning towards each other to encourage.

A dozen macaques, chimpanzees, and baboons approached, but Liliana Kranjcar jumped toward them, quickly waving her sword to frighten them. They dispersed but retreated only about ten meters before turning and looking at the young woman aggressively.

Erica Blandelli landed next to her king and held out her hand forward, whispering something in Italian.

A magic circle appeared in front of her palm, and then a wall of fire formed in front of the monkeys, blocking the street through. This time the macaques retreated screaming in panic.

"Lili takes Yuri with you, I take Godou!"

For once, the Croatian teen girl obeyed without arguing... the time was no longer to quibble about who would look after their king.

High in the sky, Gilgamesh's Vimana was hovering motionless. Altera watched the chaos that had spread over the small town. The Scourge of God shook her head with a scowl.

"Bad civilization!"

The remark was almost childish... but did not smile when it was the dormant form of the White Titan that said it.

She was the bane of civilizations, the destroyer of nations. When Altera condemned a people it was more than just a threat, it was a decision-making with terrible effects. Twice in the chronology of the Extraverse, Altera had shown that her nickname 'Scourge of God' was not exaggerated.

She had destroyed cities, burned countryside, ravaged entire countries, and almost destroyed civilization, plunging the world into centuries of obscurantism.

It was even said that after her passage the grass did not grow again.

Altera turned to Gilgamesh, still sitting on his throne. The First Hero had calmed down, but he was obviously in a very bad mood...

"King of Uruk, stop the monkeys from catching Godou Kusanagi."

The Golden King flinched. As if from a bad dream, he turned to the female counterpart of Attila the Hun.

"They are our enemies."

She shook her head.

"We have to take the Regalia from Hakuno Kishinami. And they're going distract Sun Wukong. Helping them helps us. It's tactic."

"I see... a decoy."

"Exactly."

The Wedge of Heaven hesitated briefly, but he felt responsible for the latest turn of events. Usually what happened to ordinary humans would not matter to him but... Hakuno Kishinami had been taken, hostage. Of course, she wasn't really his Master, just a version from a parallel universe... but she looked too much like his Master, and knowing she was in danger tormented him.

When Goudou and his friends retreated, Shizuka/Sun Wukong released Hakuno, temporarily forgetting her.

Sitting on the ground, the Sovereign of the Moon had her heart beating so hard it sounded in her head like a concert of drums. Although her face remained impassive, she was terrified, tensing her hands on her chest and turning her head one way, and the other.

Fortunately for her, Kishinami did not attract much attention. The monkeys were passing by the Las Master without really caring about her. Fortunately for Hakuno, they had seen their king with this stranger and preferred not to attract his royal anger by behaving in a... improper manner.

That said, even though the Victor of the Moon was sitting there without saying a word. Her mind was as sharp as usual. She noted every detail, memorized everything and would be able to remember the smallest information when she needed it.

Hakuno was especially interested in what Shizuka/Sun Wukong was doing.

The King of the Monkeys was focused. He began to speak in what seemed to her to be Chinese... or a related language. But, the God of Steel did not seem to speak to someone.

On the ground, in front of him, appeared a circle decorated with ideograms and I Ching trigrams.

In the center, there was the white and black representation of yin and yang.

Hakuno frowned... it looked like some sort of ritual. She expected more or less the appearance of a Servant... or rather a minor divinity... but she startled and receded when a large number of apes arose around the circle.

They were huge apes... well... but they belonged to an unknown species... something like a crossbreed between giant gorillas with orangutan heads... and golden fur.

She tilted her head.

Why did she feel like she'd seen giant gorillas with golden fur? Ah yes... some boys in her class watched a super-violent martial art anime with something like this... (1)

After giving some orders to the Divine Beasts he had just summoned, Sun Wukong returned to his prisoner.

"I must praise your courage. Normally, humans are terrorized by my little brothers. You didn't run away and start screaming. You're an interesting little girl."

Hakuno was not one to be offended if she was called a 'girl', in fact, she didn't even pay attention to the condescending tone of the monkey king.

She made another Head Tilt... which seemed to destabilize the troublemaker of the Chinese Heavens.

"Who are you" she questioned with her usual bland voice.

He flexes his muscle... or rather Shizuka does it... and she was a very cute fourteen-year-old girl... the effect seemed as ridiculous as it was adorable.

"I'm Sun Wukong, the King of Monkeys, and the Great Sage Equaling Heaven!"

But Hakuno shook her head without showing any emotion. A bit offended at first, the God of Steel coughed in his fist and regains his composure.

"Ah, it's true, in Japan one calls me Son Goku. Of course, you know me by that name!"

But Hakuno continued to look at him without showing any emotion.

"I defeated and ridiculed the Chinese gods," insisted the god "I humiliated Lao Tzu... well, it's true that I was defeated by Buddha but..."

"I defeated Buddha."

Shizuka/ Sun Wukong stopped to watch the Victor of the Moon in amazement. Hakuno blinked.

"Well, not me directly... my Servant... but I can't remember was it a Saber... a woman in a red dress... an Archer fighting with two Chinese swords, or a Caster with ears and a fox tail?"

She raised an eyebrow...

"Why do I feel I have experienced the crossing of the Seraph several times?"

But the Monkey's King no longer listened to her. He looked at her with an expression of mistrust and amazement. Either that human girl was completely insane... or she really defeated Buddha. Normally, he would have just concluded that she was delusional because it was impossible. A human couldn't have defeated Buddha, could she? But this... this Hakuno Kishinami had the mark of a god. This meant that a god had taken an interest in Hakuno, leaving an indelible mark of his action. No ordinary individual could have been marked by a god. As soon as he had some time, Sun Wukong would try to find out which god had marked him so... and especially why.

Erica Blandelli, Knight of the Copper-Black Cross order landed at the edge of the forest and immediately fell to her knees. Her forehead was covered with sweat and her legs were too weak to carry her. Godou helped her up.

"Erica, are you okay?"

The pretty blonde teenager smiled. In the midst of battle, she never showed weakness; she was a knight and she was to be the shield that protected her king.

"It's okay, I'm just tired. I need a few minutes to rest."

Since their escape from the city, they had been continuously pursued by the inhabitants that were transformed into monkeys. The Italian Knight had fought several times and had used her mastery of fire magic to frighten the transformed inhabitants without having to hurt them. Especially, she used Sandals of Hermes to flee... with Godou.

Of course, she was exhausted.

Near them, Liliana - still carrying Yuri- landed in her turn. The Bronze-Black Cross Knight was a little less exhausted than her childhood friend, but like the others she had spent several hours fighting and fleeing.

"Without Gilgamesh's intervention, we would never have managed to outrun our pursuers."

Erica and Godou seemed to hesitate.

"Are you sure it was Gilgamesh?"

They had all seen the swords falling from the sky forming real steel walls between them and the monkeys. However, it seemed strange to see an enemy intervene on their behalf...

Lili pondered, but before the Fairy Knight could speak, Yuri spoke.

Her eyes radiated a green... supernatural light that spread to form an aura of the same color all around her. Her voice without inflection was not her, an external force was expressed through the mouth of the Hime-Miko.

"The King. The Great King. The First City. The multi-story tower so high that it defies the Heaven. The king who is more god than a mortal. The Loner. The One King, the One Who Has All the Treasures. He met him. It was their destiny to write from eternity. He, the Chain that Unites the Heaven and the Earth, the Divine, and the Mortal. The King was alone forever. Between men and gods, without equal, without someone he can consider as a brother. Despising the mortals below him, hating the gods above him. He fought the Chain, the weapon of the gods... his equal... At the end of the fight, for the first time, he had a friend. But the gods destroyed the weapon they had created and the King again knew loneliness and bitterness... he wandered in fear of death. But heroes never die. He returned, called by the Crystal of the Moon, and met the toy of this mechanical god, neither a human nor a machine, a being between the kingdom of mortals and that of gods. The Victor of the Moon. And again, the King was no longer alone. But again he was separated from the Last Master. He searched; he wandered... because it was also the destiny of the One King. The Mortals, the Heroes that the Throne keeps, and even the Gods are chained by the Chain of Destiny... they are never delivered. Again the King is Alone. He's wandering again. But once again he is facing the Last Master... another... not the same... yet an image of the one he knew... a reflection of the Moon on the Multiverse Sea... a Chain uniting the Earth and the Heaven, the Mortal and the Divine, and multiple universes in the same ripple."

Erica, Liliana, and Godou watched Yuri sitting on the floor. She was pale and breathing fast as if she had just run.

"I... I have rarely had such a clear and also... exhausting vision. The King is Gilgamesh and the last Master is Hakuno Kishiinami."

"What about the Crystal of the Moon, it is the Moon Cell?" Erica asked.

The Hime-Miko answered with a simple nod, too tired for long sentences.

"I see," murmured Goudou, more for himself than for his friends. "Gilgamesh's destiny is to be isolated between men and gods until he meets someone whose destiny is to be a link between Earth and Heaven. And this would have happened several times in his lifetime and it would be about to happen again."

Erica agreed. As she was familiar with mythology, the Italian top model-like teen immediately understood the allusion.

"The oracle spoke of Enkidu."

"Enkidu?"

The Italian Knight nodded and began to quote an ancient text:

"(And it is there) in the steppe,

She (the Goddess Auru) formed Enkidu-the-valiant.

Born in Solitude,

As compact as Ninurta.

Abundantly hairy throughout the body,

He had woman's hair,

With loops bursting like a field of ears.

Knowing neither fellow citizens nor countries,

Dressed like a savage,

In company with the gazelles, he grazed;

In the company of (his) herd, he frequented the freshwater;

He drank with the animals." (2)

Godou nodded and frowned.

"Certainly, but this text tells of the birth of our universe's Enkidu... the Enkidu of their universe must have been very different"

The Japanese Godslayer was about to add something but he saw a movement from the corner of his eye and quickly turned around. Leaving the branch on which she was laid, a beautiful owl with silver feathers had just landed next to them... turning into an adorable teenager with an impassive face. Her hair was silver and partly hidden by a knitcap, she was dressed in a school uniform.

"Godou Kusanagi, I praise you for already thinking of ways to use Hakuno Kishinami to turn Gilgamesh against his allies. But before that you must defeat on Sun Wukong. Currently, the King of Monkeys is your main enemy."

Surprised by these words of encouragement, Godou sighed with relief.

"Athena, I need your help."

The impassive little goddess blushed slightly.

"I owe you, Devil King Godou. You spared me instead of killing me to steal my Authorities, and then you helped me three times... I am Athena the Queen of Night, the feminine wisdom personified, the psychopomp goddess who mows down lives to sprinkle with blood the fields that feed men. It is obvious that my pride forbids me to ignore my debts... all my debts and not only towards you. I must also respond to your sister's kindness. When Metis attacked me... I managed to escape. Wounded, I took refuge in your home. But, I had lost my memory and it was Shizuka Kusanagi who took care of me. So I would help you because of this without you having to appeal to the debts I owe you, King Kusanagi. Moreover..."

A troubled expression appeared briefly on her face the Goddess of Night hesitated...

"I fear that what is happening is partly my fault."

Godou had remained silent while Athena recounted how she guided Gilgamesh to the sword known as the Divine Monarch, the key of the Keeper of the Horse Ritual.

Under the effect of anger, Goudo's nostrils quivered several times... but he remained silent, unlike his harem. Except that the respectful remarks of the young women might have been bird songs because the goddess paid no attention. She only looked at the Campione, waiting for his answer. He sighed.

"You're right, for now, we need to focus on Sun Wukong... and especially deliver Shizuka. We'll talk about your mistakes later. But... there's one thing I want you to understand right now. I forbid you to attack King Arthur alone!"

"A Devil King has no right to authorize or forbid anything to a Goddess."

The answer could have been aggressive or contemptuous, but Athena blushed and looked away, visibly moved by Godou worries. Erica looked up to Heaven... This time it was for sure, her womanizer king had definitely docked Athena to his harem. She coughed to get the attention of others.

"Since we are talking about it, Noble Goddess Athena, would you have a plan that would enable us to defeat the Great Sage Equaling Heaven? Without hurting Shizuka, of course... "

The Queen of the Night replied with a simple chin movement.

"Yes".

She pointed at Godou.

"King Kusanagi, you have the weapon that can deliver your sister."

"The weapon that... oh..." His expression changed from surprise to joy. "Verethragna's Golden Sword."

The sword could cut any Divine Authority, so if he used it on Shizuka... Sun Wukong would be exorcised from his sister's body.

"Exactly," replied the Queen of Night.

"Uh... but I need to have enough knowledge about the Monkey King's myths and legends to trace back to the origin of his power and use the Warrior Incarnation against him."

The Greek goddess of wisdom nodded her head.

"It's not a problem."

She walked towards him, tied an arm around his neck, then stood on tiptoe while putting the other hand on the Campione's cheek to guide his face towards her. Feeling the breath of the small goddess on his lips, Godou swallowed his saliva, showing a troubled expression.

"Oh, I... I see. Aha ah ahaa..."

While Yuri turned her eyes away grumbling against Godou's 'perversion' and Lili pretended to hide her face (but looked between her fingers), Erica smiled... King Godou lived the fantasy of all male teenagers, being surrounded by pretty girls arguing over a reason to kiss him.

Godou Kusanagi was walking towards Nikkō.

He was alone and, although he hides it, quite worried. When it was only a matter of risking his life, he ignored fear. The Campione never felt the terror of facing a powerful opponent. On the contrary, he felt excitement... More than once, he began to smile... happy to have a challenge.

But if Athena's plan did not go as the goddess had imagined, he would be defeated and Shizuka... he preferred not to think about what would happen to his little sister.

The cry of a monkey brought him back to the present.

He was just spotted.

This was one of the inhabitants of the city turned into the Divine Beast. He looked like an ordinary macaque... Rather cowardly, he immediately walked away screaming for help. Other monkeys assembled.

Godou had stopped at the top of the hill and was waiting.

He smiled as he saw a huge golden gorilla advancing towards him, dominating the crowd of other monkeys. According to Athena, it was a servant of Sun Wukong and not a metamorphosed human. A perfect target for his demonstration.

He breathed in and...

"My name is Gudou Kusanagi, the Devil King of the Japanese Islands. When I see you, I can't help but feel pity... is that the army of the Great Sun Wukong, a handful of bawling, filthy, cowardly, weak monkeys?! Is it really all the famous Monkey King can do? Another usurped legend, if you ask me. I'm alone in front of you... and yet you're terrified... what pathetic!"

At first, stunned to be mocked by the Campione, the monkeys jumped on the spot, getting excited and screaming.

The huge golden gorilla reacted even more directly, getting on all fours, it started to run straight to Godou.

But the Japanese Rakshasa Raja only clenched his fists and shouted an incantation: "The bearer of sharp tusks! Killing with one stroke, trampling foes to dust!"

In an existing space within the soul of the Harem king was a gold disk surrounded by ten medallions symbolizing Verethragna's Ten Avatars. In a scrape, the medallions moved, changing places, and the Boar found itself in the upper position.

The ground convulsed behind the young Godslayer. Cracks appeared forming a spider web, widening and spitting fire. Suddenly two huge tusks emerged, preceding a berserk red-eyed boar with a flaming back that uttered a terrifying cry, projecting earth and rocks in every direction.

The enormous Divine Beast rushed over the Golden Gorilla and impaled it with its tusks, digging a deep furrow in the ground, knocking down the trees like pins before ending its course on a hill that collapsed in a formidable crash.

A little out of breath, a smiling Goudou turned towards the monkeys.

The metamorphosed humans were like frozen, eyes fixed on the huge avalanche created by the Boar Authority.

The Devil King's laugh was a little forced.

"As I said, pathetic, pathetic apes... because apes are pathetic and cowards, all apes, and their king is no better. He's hiding away from combat because he's weak and cowardly!"

It was a transparent provocation, but you had to adapt to the mentality of the adversary. Sun Wukong could be very subtle, but he was often described as noisy, simplistic, and easy to distract.

"Who dares speak ill of Mei Houwang (3)?!"

Godou looked up and discovered Shizuka... His sister was standing on a golden cloud floating above the hills. She had a gold stick in one hand and Hakuno Kishinami's wrist in the other.

"Oh, you've finally decided to get out of hiding, Sun Wukong? What's holding you back? Fear? Unless you don't care if I kill your people?"

"Kusanagi brat, you dare to challenge me? Don't you know who I am?"

Goudou smiled.

"I think I know, but I'm waiting for confirmation...because I haven't had a chance to see you up close so far... you were too busy hiding."

"How dare you pretend I'm a coward?"

To the surprise of Godou as well as Shizuka/ Sun Wukong, Hakuno spoke.

"Godou Kusanagi has reason to believe it."

As the King of the Monkeys looked with anger at his prisoner, she blinked without moving.

"Logical. You use your army against one opponent."

Godou had to hide his joy, but he would have gladly hugged the Sovereign of the Moon. Her quick wit was no joke. She immediately understood Athena's drama and played according to the script.

"Does he really think I'm a coward? Me? The Great Sage Equal to Heaven?"

The king of monkeys' eyes widened. He was not even offended or angry, just unbelieving.

Hakuno simply nodded.

The King of the Monkeys leaped to the ground. This time, Shizuka's pretty face reflected a relentless thirst for blood.

"Since you want to die, Kusanagi brat I shall grant your wish."

Goudou extended his hand.

"O Sword, shine with brilliance for the sake of my victory and justice!"

A golden sword came out of the ground and the Japanese Campione seized it. An explosion of light blinded Sun Wukong briefly. But when he reopened his eyelids, he was in a strange limitless place. Everywhere around him, he saw golden swords. Some were floating in the air; others were planted in the ground.

And, of course, he was alone against the brat. His army had disappeared.

A clever move, he reluctantly admits.

Godou Kusanagi pointed Verethragna's sword in the direction of the Monkey King.

"You accused me of not knowing who you were, let me prove you wrong. You were born from a stone egg struck by lightning, a phenomenon so singular that the Chinese gods sent a member of the celestial bureaucracy to attend to your birth. For that reason, your oldest known name is Shixin, or 'Stone Monkey'."

Godou was focused; he felt the warrior's sword vibrating in his hand.

"So you are a Chinese god, and your birth designates you as a God of Steel. Besides, you are also called Jinxin, that is, 'Metal Monkey'."

The Campione nodded.

"But you are not only that. You are the King of the Monkeys, for they obey you. And among the signs of the Chinese zodiac, the monkey is the only sign at the same time Yin and Yang. You have 72 transformations, that is to say, as much as the sum of the 8 trigrams and 64 hexagrams of the Yi-King, that is the totality of the 'Canon of transformations'. You are a god of war but also a god of magic, master of secret sciences, initiated into Daoism by Master Xuputi, who gave you the name Wukong (Conscious of Emptiness)."

Always focused on his sword, Godou spoke quickly. Sun Wukong had initially listened to him with boredom, but he was beginning to understand that his enemy was not trying to praise him. Suspicious, he looked at the swords around him.

"What are you trying to do, Kusanagi brat?!"

Godou did not respond, continuing to trace the origins of his enemy.

"You are a god of contradictions. Born of immutable stone, you are not bound to one form; heavy as steel you walk on clouds; Yin you are Yang; god of war, you are also god of magic. Your most famous epic is the 'Journey to the West' , defeated by Buddha you are forced to follow the monk Xuanzang to India in search of Buddhist texts to bring back to China."

Taking a brief break to catch his breath, the Campione smiled.

"This story tells us the truth about you, Sun Wukong. You are not a Chinese god, you refuse to obey the Jade Emperor, you loot the palaces of the Celestial Hierarchy, and you mock the gods of China and constantly ridicule them. But Buddha succeeds in defeating you because he recognized you. Like him, you came from India."

The Monkey King uttered a howl of rage, suddenly realizing what Godou was doing. His golden rod stretched out to strike Godou, but the young man blocked the attack with the Warrior's sword.

"Your real name is Hanuman! The son of the wind and Rama's companion!"

He had said these last words in a triumphant tone and the swords floating in the sky turned towards Sun Wukong who was running towards Godou. The God of Steel was pierced by one sword, then another... before being transformed into a pincushion.

Then there was another explosion of light.

The Devil King was standing near Nikkō again, holding Shizuka in his arms. The girl was passed out but other than that was not hurt.

(1) No, I didn't spend too much time watching Dragon Ball GT! I always hated this anime... for many reasons... but mostly because Vegeta with a mustache is a sacrilege. Anyway... the Ōgon Oozaru in 'Campione!' is an idea of the original author of the LN, not mine.
