CHAPTER 1
Stonekit pecked his head out of the nursery's entrance craning his neck to have a peek out of the nursery wanting to catch a glimpse of the warriors outside. "I wonder which one is my father." Thought Stonekit blinked his dark green eyes curiously, his tiny kitten tail was straight out behind him. His brother Leafkit came trodding over to him, Leafkit's dark tabby fur fluffed up; it was clear Leafkit had just woken up. Leafkit yawned loudly and stretched forward until his back arched and his tail quivered, Leafkit blinked sleep from his eyes. "What are you doing?" yawned Leafkit as he came to stand beside his brother; pelt's brushing together, Stonekit glanced at his brother "I am trying to see the warriors!" mewed Stonekit turning his head back towards the nursery's entrance. All of a sudden his mother Brightstar came padding towards the nursery; quickly Stonekit ducked his head back into the nursery he turned and swiftly raced to his litter's nest. Stonekit leapt into the nest burrowing in the nest he slammed his eye's shut he pretended to be sleeping, at that moment Brightstar came into the nursery purring softly as she saw her kits laying in the nest. Brightstar nuzzled Leafkit's forehead, licking it gently "did you just wake up?" asked Brightstar fondly to her kit. Leafkit nodded quickly, his big ears flapping excitedly "mhm I wanted to wait for you!" purred Leafkit bouncing up and down happily. Brightstar chuckled softly, placing a paw on Leaf's forehead to calm her kit "no need to leap around Leafkit." meowed Brightstar with a gentle purr, Brightstar padded over to her other kits, nudging them awake. Stonekit pretended to yawn and blinked his eyes; trying to pretend he had just woken up, "what's going on?" mewed Stonekit slowly sitting up and shaking his fur. Stonekit dragged a paw over his ear to try and smooth his ear fur over, his brother Amberkit slowly stumbled to his paws. Amberkit was a large kitten for the litter's age. Amberkit's dark russet tabby fur was ruffled from sleep he blinked multiple times to get the blurriness out of his eyes. "What's going on?" mumbled Tidekit besides Stonekit; Stonekit rolled his eyes softly; his sister was always the last to wake up. Stonekit prodded his sister in her side Tidekit gave a small yelp bolting to her paws, "what did you do that for?" hissed Tidekit her white fur fluffed up. Stonekit giggled slightly "you needed to get up." mewed Stonekit shrugging his small shoulders. Tidekit leaned down wiggling her hunches, she leapt onto Stonekit; knocking him over Stonekit gave a yelp of surprise as he suddenly hit the soft moss below him. Bluekit was knocked into, as Stonekit fell and the white she-cat scrambled to her paws bright blue eyes filled with annoyance. Tidekit giggled happily as she held her front paws on Stonekit's side holding him down, "sorry." mewed Stonekit with a hint of playfulness in his voice. Tidekit narrowed her eyes into slits, "you better be." meowed Tidekit a hint of a playful growl in her voice; Tidekit took her paws off Stonekit taking a step back to let him up. Stonekit scrambled to his paws shaking moss scrapes off his fur, Amberkit came over to Tidekit's side nudging her softly. "C'mon kits, we'll be introducing you to the whole of the clan today." meowed Brightstar pride glittering in her crystal blue eye; Stonekit's eyes widened in delight he quickly began to groom his pelt wanting to look his best in front of his clan-mates. "Really?!" yowled Amberkit his mew edged with excitement Brightstar purred and nodded using her paw to drag Bluekit over. Bluekit wiggled trying to get out of her mother's grasp "I can groom myself!" mewled Bluekit complaining. Brightstar just giggled, shaking her head as she kept up her grooming; dragging her tongue over her kit's soft fluffy back. Tidekit sat beside Leafkit beginning to groom her fur with long delicate strokes; Leafkit's dark green eyes sparkled with happiness as he finished grooming, Stonekit also finished the task of grooming his fur making sure not even a single tangle remained in his pelt. Stonekit stood up coming over to Brightstar's flank; "I finished!" declared Stonekit puffing his chest out in pride, Brightstar smiled down at her kit releasing Bluekit from her grasp; Brightstar looked Stonekit's fur over making sure he had done a thorough cleaning, once she was sure, she nodded. Brightstar nuzzled Stonekit's cheek purring slightly; "good job Stonekit!" purred Brightstar with a hint of pride in her mew. Stonekit hopped up and down, slightly grinning widely proud of himself; at that moment the rest of Stonekit's litter-mates came to stand around their mother. Brightstar gave a soft chuckle as she looked her kit's over making sure every whisker was in place. Brightstar got to her paws towering over her kits; Brightstar purred loudly "come let's introduce you to the clan." purred Brightstar turning she led the way out of the nursery, Amberkit and Bluekit racing after her, squeezing their way out of the nursery. Leafkit glanced nervously at Tidekit and Stonekit before he followed his siblings out of the nursery, Stonekit took a deep breath feeling his nerves prickling with slight nervousness. "What if the clan doesn't like me?" thought Stonekit quickly shook his head trying to shake his nervousness out, Stonekit padded to the entrance of the nursery and closed his eyes as he stepped out of the nursery into a clear sunlit clearing. Stonekit's eyes opened and widened in awe as he saw the camp for the first time; The camp was in a large flat clearing completely open to the sky above them, the sun shone above Stonekit making the cats around him pelt's shine. Stonekit looked around him at the cats that littered the clearing; most of them were looking at Stonekit and his siblings; Stonekit's pelt prickled from all the stares. A pale white tom with black spots and dark blue eyes came padding over to them eyes bright with pride, Brightstar padded to meet the tom halfway and nuzzled his neck. The tom purred softly, "that must be our father." thought Stonekit blinked up at a tom, Stonekit noticed that Leafkit and himself shared their father's body type. Sleek and compact with short fur, the tom came to stand in front of his kits; the tom purred "kits this is Clearheart he's your father." purred Brightstar twining her tail with Clearheart's. Clearheart lowered his head so he was at face level with his children Clearheart smiled at the kits, Stonekit took the first steps towards his father. "Are you really our father?" asked Stonekit he came to stand in front of his father's face, Clearheart smiled a bit more "yes I am Stonekit." meowed Clearheart his voice was deep but kind. Amberkit came scampering to stand beside Stonekit,his green and yellow eyes bright with happiness. Clearheart gave a soft chuckle at his kit's excitement in meeting their father, "I am Amberkit! This is Stonekit!" mewed Amberkit beaming as he pointed at himself then at his brother. Stonekit smirked at his brother who was much larger than Stonekit himself, "And that's Tidekit, Bluekit and Treekit!" purred Amberkit points at the other three kits. Clearheart's eyes glittered with amusement at his kit's eagerness, "it's nice to meet all of you, I am sorry I couldn't meet you sooner." meowed Clearheart looking at all his kits as he spoke. Tidekit tipped her head to the side looking curious "why didn't you?" asked Tidekit, coming to stand on the other side of Stonekit just as Treekit and Bluekit stood beside Amberkit. Clearheart purred "good question Tidekit!" praised Clearheart, Tidekit puffed her chest up at her father's praises; "well to put it simply I was recovering from a bad injury." meowed Clearheart jestering to a long scar running along his right side. Stonekit looked at the scar "will I get a scar like that?" Thought Stonekit a hint of nervousness starting to grow. "How did you get the scar?" asked Stonekit, trying not to show his unease; "I got it in a fight with a fox." meowed Clearheart nodding to Stonekit for the good question. Amberkit's eyes sparkled with excitement "did you beat it?!" asked Amberkit Clearheart gave a small chuckle and nodded, puffing his chest up. "Yeah I did I sent the fox fleeing from Blossomclan territory." meowed Clearheart grinning widely. Bluekit grinned slightly as well it was clear Stonekit's litter-mates already liked their father, "I think he's cool too!" thought Stonekit looking at his mother as she gently nudged Clearheart's side. "Alright give enough room for other cats, you'll have plenty of time to spend with our kits." purred Brightstar, Clearheart gave a sigh and giggled clearly a bit embarrassed he nodded stepping back allowing other cats to take his place he stood beside Brightstar watching in pride as their kits met the rest of the clan. Stonekit was slightly overwhelmed by all the new faces around him, he was used to his denmates of course he glanced over to where Creamkit and Minkkit were playing tag. Stonekit stared at his older denmates, both kits were 4 moons and would be apprenticed soon, "will I ever get that big?" thought Stonekit and his litter-mates were only 2 moons old. Stonekit watched as the two older kits tumbled together giving small yelps as they played, "can we play with the bigger kits?" mewed Leafkit coming to walk over to Brightstar. Brightstar hesitated for a moment thinking it over before nodding, "as long as your polite you kits can." meowed Brightstar as Stonekit quickly nodded in rhythm with his siblings. Brightstar smiled softly, nodding as Stonekit and his litter-mates raced to go play with the older kits. Stonekit was still amazed but how many colors there was just in camp, and how beautiful the camp was pride filled Stonekit's heart that he is a part of Blossomclan; "I can't wait to become an apprentice and make my clan proud!" thought Stonekit lifting his head up as he ran trying to look a bit bigger. Stonekit stopped beside his siblings as they reached Creamkit and Minkkit. Creamkit's amber eyes were filled with curiosity at what the younger kits where doing, "what do you want?" asked Creamkit his fur fluffed out, Amberkit grinned showing his teeth and his confidence. Stonekit had to admit he looked up to Amberkit who never seemed to be scared of anything or get slowed down by anything. "We wanna play with you." declared Amberkit puffing his chest out, Minkkit's and Creamkit's eyes widened in surprise at Amberkit's declaration; "what? You wouldn't be able to keep up with us!" mewed Minkkit looking the five younger kits over. Tidekit's fur puffed up with indigencation "we aren't that small!" growled Tidekit her tiny thorn sharp claws coming out, Leafkit's eyes widened he quickly put his tail out to stop his sister from pouncing on the older kit. "I can understand why they don't want to play with us, we are smaller than them by at least a rabbit's length." thought Stonekit as he noticed just how much bigger the two kits were compared to Stonekit and his litter-mates. "Can't we just try and play with you guys? If we can't keep up then we'll play alone." mewed Leafkit sounding a bit nervous. Creamkit sighed, he rolled his eyes but nodded, "fine you can play with us but if you can't keep up don't blame us!" mewed Creamkit. Amberkit grinned wider and nodded looking determined "we won't!" meowed Amberkit at that moment Minkkit went racing off towards the fresh-kill pile that seemed so far away to Stonekit, Stonekit's bunches then sprang forwards. Stonekit raced forward wind brushing through and along his fur he felt his ears tingle for the breeze. Stonekit was in awe at what it felt to run freely not restrained to the nursey's walls, Stonekit glanced behind and saw Bluekit and Tidekit right on his tail. Stonekit smiled feeling free as he ran faster he was so close to catching up with Minkkit they were getting closer and closer to the fresh-kill pile. Stonekit panted as he reached forwards he managed to catch up with the older kit, the two of them now neck and neck. Stonekit panted "Almost there!" Thought Stonekit as he flung himself forward he skidded forward as he reached the fresh-kill pile making it first. A second later Minkkit came to stop beside him, her eyes bright with surprise, "I can't believe you won!" meowed Minkkit with a slight purr clearly impressed. Stonekit gulped in air, his lungs blazing from the run, he blushed with slight embarrassment, "you were close to winning, I wouldn't have won if I didn't have that final burst of speed." mewed Stonekit logically at that moment Creamkit and Amberkit finished the race as well skidding to a halt besides Stonekit and Minkkit. "That was amazing Stonekit!" purred Amberkit, his eyes bright and full of pride for his brother, Stonekit swishes his tail "it's no big deal." mewed Stonekit but he felt pride swell within him that he had won. "You were super fast!" Beamed Amberkit, nudging Stonekit; Stonekit grinned slightly; he couldn't keep the smile from his face since Amberkit was smiling so much. "I bet your be the fastest warrior in all of Blossomclan!" mewed Amberkit, Stonekit's eyes widened he was so sure of that but he glanced towards the sun that was setting above them. "Kits it's time for bed!" yowled Brightstar from the nursery's entrance, Stonekit's head jerked around to his mother's call. Stonekit followed his litter-mates towards the nursery and glanced up at the setting sun, "I'll become the fastest warrior in all of the clans!" Thought Stonekit vowing it internally.
