Opening the door to his dorm room Gales couldn't resist sighing as he undid a few buttons on his uniform before faceplanting his bed. That done he did this sort of 'climb slash drag his body across the bed before rolling over to stare at his ceiling.
Another day at school, another boring selection of classes.
"You know, I never knew school could be this boring…" The Hunter muttered as he scratched his belly. "I mean, Caer's classes were a lot more fun. Then again they had me moving a lot." Gales admitted as he just stared at his ceiling for a moment longer and seemed to think. "I need to move." Gales muttered. "At this rate my muscles are gonna turn into flab." He muttered before looking at his belly.
'Abs for days' as some might say.
Still…
Gales started squeezing his belly like someone who actually had one and started squishing it. "Belly belly, jelly belly. Belly belly, jelly belly." He paused for a moment. "I wanna belly." He muttered in disappointment and just started battling his stomach like it was a drum.
A knock on his door caught his attention a moment later.
"Gales? It's me."
"Come on in, Pyrrha." The girl in question peeked through the door as she made herself known, only to suddenly stumble into the room as she stood frozen. Looking behind her Gales found that Nora had pushed her teammate into the room while Ren just rubbed his temples.
"Hi." Was all she said, straightening up and walking off like nothing had happened. A moment after being out of sight she popped back in and grabbed Ren to drag him off. Jaune just looked at the door and awkwardly grabbed it as he waved. "Sorry about this…" The door closed with a click and Pyrrha just looked at the door to find that her team had left her behind.
"So~" Gales started as he sat up. "That happened." He shrugged, not really bothered before looking to Pyrrha. "Anyway~ what's up Pyrrha, did you need something?
"I…" Pyrrha started to mumble under her breath. "I wanted to see how your recovery was coming." She muttered as Gales shrugged and raised one of his arms. "Pretty good, but not as good as it should be." He admitted as Pyrrha walked up to him.
"Are you not healing properly?" Gales chuckled. "No no, its nothing like that." He admitted as he undid some of the bandages on his arm to show her his wounds. "I'm just not healing as fast as normal." The hunter admitted before seeming to pause. "Or maybe this is how fast I would normally heal… I don't really know to be honest."
"How fast do you normally heal?"
I'm usually back to full health in two, sometimes three days." Pyrrha gave him a look as he scratched his head. "Well, that's mostly because of a combination of healing boosters and Ashe's teaching but yeah, normally I'm not out of commission this long." His counterpart made to say something only to stop and take a breath.
"You really are a strange one, you know that?"
"I get that." Gales didn't deny her words as he smiled and rewrapped his arm. "But." He nudged Pyrrha's shoulder. "You guys like me anyway."
"We certainly do." Pyrrha admitted, a bit of color starting to cross her cheeks as she coughed into her hand. "Anyway, do you~ have any plans for the rest of the day?"
"Not really." Gales admitted. "What's up, you wanna hang out?" Pyrrha smiled and nodded her head.
"I'd like that. We haven't had alot of time to just hang out since school started."
"Yeah~ sorry about that, they've had us kinda busy." Gales admitted as he seemed to think for a moment before looking back at Pyrrha. Out of nowhere he patted her stomach causing her to jump.
"What are you doing?"
"Pat pat." Was all Gales said as he started drumming a tune on her stomach. He stopped a moment later to squeeze her stomach. "Squish squish." Pyrrha giggled at his antics before swatting his hand away and getting to her feet to offer him a hand.
"Well, shall we get going?"
"Should we get changed first?"
The 'Good witch of Beacon couldn't help narrow her eyes a bit as she walked the hallowed halls of the school. It wasn't that she had found herself in a bad mood, it was just… certain about what to thing concerning the woman that was now walking beside her. Ivory, as she called herself, was as refined as one could get, but at the same time that seemed to bother her. It wasn't that she felt a sense of competition or anything, it was just… Ozpin had informed her that this woma would be taking up residence here in this school. Why had something to do with the young Gales, but the Professor hadn't given her a full detailed explanation. 'I wish Ozpin would tell me more concerning this woman.' Glynda thought as she took a breath.
"Something on your mind?" Ivory asked, her smile being as beautiful as it had the moment the two had first met hours ago.
"A few things." Glynda admitted.
"Am I one of them?" That smile wasn't flirtatious or anything of the sort, just… knowing.
"Yes." Glynda admitted looking at the woman. Who looked away and kept her hands behind her back and her eyes somewhat skyward.
"Well, if you have questions, I may have answers."
"Will you answer them is the question."
"To the best of my ability." Was the simple response as Glynda raised a delicate eyebrow. A moment later though she seemed to narrow her eyes.
"Who are you. Truly."
"Ivory, Ivory Tears." The woman stated. "As for who I am… I am a bodyguard, a handmaiden, and a shadow."
"A shadow?" Glynda muttered. "Exactly what does that entail?"
"Seen, but never heard and scarcely acknowledged." Ivory stated.
"It can entail a number of things." Ivory stated. "It could be a way of saying I am seen, but never heard, and scarcely acknowledged." She whispered. "I follow the one who casts me, and I serve my purpose without need of acknowledgement." She paused. "It could also mean I am 'a shadow'." She looked at Glynda. "A ghost or perhaps an echo of someone else." Glynda stayed silent as she seemed to think.
"Are you like Ozpin?" She muttered.
"Like Ozpin?" Ivory sounded curious. "What do you mean?"
"Nothing." Glynda muttered as she coughed into her fist. She didn't know… good. "If you are a 'shadow', who casts you?"
"Hard to say." The woman whispered as they continued walking. "I have served as a shadow for a very long time. Young Gales is the latest of the line I serve from the dark."
"And why is that?" Glynda asked. "Why do you intend to serve him?"
"He is my lady's heir." Ivory whispered as she started out at Beacon. "He is her living legacy." Glynda didn't say anything, instead just stared at the woman beside her as she adopted this wistful expression. "I just home he does not inherit 'their' legacy.
"I… see." The good Witch of beacon muttered as she looked ahead as the pair continued their walk.
"Are you and the headmaster lovers?" The woman in question almost tripped as the question was asked. She turned to look at the white haired woman so fast that it was amazing her neck hadn't snapped off.
"What?"
"Are you and the headmaster -"
"I heard what you said!" Glynda took a moment to recompose herself, coughing into her hand as she took a breath. "No, we aren't… what made you even ask that?"
"It was a simple question." Ivory shrugged. "If not then you aren't, if you are then you are. I have no issue if you are either way." Glynda took a breath.
"My relationship with Professor Ozin is strictly professional."
"Would you rather it be unprofessional?"
"No…"
"That no sounded a bit like a yes, or at most a maybe." Ivory whispered as she looked at her counterpart who glared at her. "The heart yearns for who it chooses to yearn for." The woman stated. "I find that to be both our blessing and our curse." She muttered.
"Even if that is the case…" Glynda muttered as she seemed to look elsewhere, but Ivory noticed the hurt in her eyes. "Our relationship is strictly professional." She stated. "It has to be."
"Why might that be?" The woman asked as she seemed to think. "I can understand if he is already taken, but if not…why?" The woman asked."
Glynda couldn't tell her, or rather she wouldn't tell her; so Ivory made her guess.
"Is it that… you were once his student?" Glynda simply kept walking as Ivory followed not a moment. "If that is the case, then I do understand somewhat. Isn't it somewhat natural for a student to develop feelings for their mentor at times? To be drawn in, to long for is forbidden?" She seemed to think. "Ah~ but the bond between student and teacher is sacred; and as you grow under your mentor's eye, they tend to start seeing you as their own child…"
Glynda didn't respond, but she felt the woman's words sting.
"If that is not the case that perhaps… hm…" The woman seemed to think for a moment. "You don't want either of you to be hurt." She whispered. "To love someone is one of Creation's greatest gifts; but to lose them…" She fell silent. "The wound it leaves hurts beyond what most can bare." As Hunters… as Huntsmen and Huntresses, we may live only to see tomorrow." She whispered. "Could you be with him knowing that, could you handle losing him? Or could he handle losing you?"
Glynda didn't say anything, she didn't have to.
"If that is the case, know this… love lost and grieved simply shows how much that person meant to you, and the memories of those months and years together may make living seem worth it."
