Bad Luck Revealing the Truth of Remnant
After the intense battle with Tyrian, Qrow and the team have settle down in the forest making a campfire and are sitting around it as the teens as they are shock of what the older Huntsman told them and everything became silent for a moment.
"Really? No questions?" Qrow asked.
"Of course, we have questions. This is just... a lot to take in." Jaune said.
"Sure, of course." Qrow chuckled.
"I take it you had a hard time believing in such things when you first learned about it." Kimi guessed.
"Oh yeah, you have no idea how close I was into slapping myself with a bottle of beer on the head and being unconscious." Qrow said.
"So, these... Maidens... They're powerful fighters that don't need Dust to use magic." Ruby retelling of what she learned.
"Yeah." Qrow nodded.
"And there are four of them?" Nora asked.
"Yup, always four." Qrow answered again.
"Which means that, whenever one of them dies, the power transfers to someone - a female - that they cared about?" Ren asked curious.
"Whoever was in their thoughts last." Qrow clarified.
"But if those last thoughts were a male then the power would just go for a random selection, making it hard for both sides to find." Kimi mentioned.
"That's right, honestly I think that would be good just as having someone we can trust. Regardless, their souls become combined, in a way." Qrow stated.
"So, when Pyrrha told Kimi about this secret offer from the teachers and Huntsmeen. You were one of them, trying to have Pyrrha become one of these Maidens." Jaune figured out.
"The previous Fall Maiden, Amber, had been attacked. She was young, inexperienced. And her assailant, who we now know is Cinder, somehow managed to steal some of her power, but not all of it. We were afraid that if we didn't do something, the rest would go to her as well." Qrow explained.
"Consider the enemies including Cinder were closer than you realize, you hope ready Pyrrha the best you could." Kimi guessed.
"Yeah, we gave her the choice of either accepting or not accepting which would understand if she chose not to take it. But in the end, she took it and you both saw her take it." Qrow reminded the two.
Jaune glares at Qrow with an angry look and turn his head way and Kimi took his hand in hers.
"That guy, Tyrian - why was he after me?" Ruby wondered about that if the enemies were after the Maidens.
"Well, you definitely painted a target on your back with what you did at Beacon. I told you having silver eyes is a rare trait. And the fact that you were able to use them seems to have upset some very powerful people. Not many people know about the silver eyes. Those that do aren't very happy that one has surfaced." Qrow explained.
"Oh my, it would appear there are a lot of legends we know about as stories turn out to be true." Kimi surprised.
"You have no idea. That's why I've been keeping an eye on you in order to make sure you were safe. All of you." Qrow said looking at all of the young Hunters in front of him.
"Well, then, why not just travel with us? It seems like that would've been way easier." Ruby asked.
"Perhaps it has something to do with being a bad luck charm." Kimi mentioned.
"Bad luck charm?" Nora confused.
"Hehe, Makiko told you about my Semblance?" Qrow chuckled.
"Only the small details, she didn't want to be a big fuss about it and told me if I wanted to know more about it then I would ask you myself." Kimi said.
"Damn, that's my Amazon Drinking buddy for ya." Qrow smiled looking up at the night sky.
"So, your Semblance is literally bad luck?" Jaune asked.
"Yeah, but before I can you about my Semblance, let me tell you about our world." Qrow said as they have their utmost attention on him.
"Not many people are super religious these days. This world's been around for a long time, long enough that people have created dozens of gods. But if you believe Ozpin, two of them are actually real." Qrow started the story with a grin.
"They were two brothers. The older sibling, the God of Light, found joy in creating forces of life. Meanwhile, the younger brother, the God of Darkness, spent his time creating forces of destruction. As you can imagine, they both had pretty different ideas about how things should go. The older one would spend his days creating water, plants, wildlife. And at night, his brother would wake to see all the things that the elder had made and become disgusted. To counteract his brother's creations, the God of Darkness brought drought, fire, famine, all he could do to rid Remnant of life. Life always returned. So, one night, the younger brother went and made something - something that shared his innate desire to destroy anything and everything." Qrow revealed about the Gods and all.
"The creatures of Grimm." Ruby realized.
"You guessed it." Qrow nodded
"Sheesh, and I thought Jaune would have problems with his seven sister, but this between God brothers just take the cake." Kimi commented.
"Yeah, I say it cakes thousands of years' worth of cake." Jaune said with a sweatdrop.
"Anyway, the older brother finally had enough. Knowing that their feud couldn't last like this forever, he proposed that they make one final creation... together, something that they could both be proud of, their masterpiece. The younger brother agreed. This last great creation would be given the power to both create and destroy. It would be given the gift of knowledge, so that it could learn about itself and the world around it. And most importantly, it would be given the power to choose, to have free will to take everything it had learned and decide which path to follow - the path of light or the path of darkness. And that is how Humanity came to be." Qrow said about how humanity was created.
"Well, some people believed that is to be the case though I never let the past determine my sexy destiny with my yellow knight." Kimi cuddled on Jaune making him blush.
Nora decided to do the same hugging Ren's arm which causes him to blush despite trying to keep his composure face up.
Ruby couldn't help but feel jealous that she is the only one without a boy of her own to cuddle with as she pouts.
"But... what does that have to do with us?" Ren asked.
"Well, that's the kicker. See, the four gifts to mankind - knowledge, creation, destruction and choice - aren't just metaphorical. Each of them exists in a physical form, left behind by the Gods before they abandoned Remnant, and each of them is extraordinarily powerful. If someone were to collect all four, they'd be able to change the world. That's exactly what the enemy wants. The Huntsman Academies were created to train generations of Humanity's protectors, but they also serve another purpose - guarding the Relics. When Ozpin's predecessor founded the schools, he built them around the Relics to act as a fortress. Not only would they be easier to defend, but they would constantly be surrounded by trained warriors. The hope was that hiding them would keep mankind from using them against itself... and, of course, keeping them out of her reach." Qrow explained the purpose of the Hunter Academies and the relics.
"So yeah, there's that." Qrow said finishing the story.
"Her. You mean Salem?" Ruby recalled her Uncle saying that name once when going against Tyrian.
"The crazy scorpion's lady boss?" Kimi remembered that too.
"That's right. Not much is known about her. Quite frankly, that's not what matters. What matters right now is that she wants the Relics, and if she gets them, it's not going to end well." Qrow said with a serious expression.
"Sounds like a cranky od woman who hasn't gotten laid in decades and is trying to think of doing naughty things to the world." Kimi stated her erotic opinion making the others uneasy and blushing a little.
"Uh, Kimi… I think that's just you thinking about those kinds of… erotic things." Jaune exclaimed.
"But you love me for that." Kimi winked.
"So, since the Academies were built to protect the Relics, does that mean the Headmasters of those academies know about them and Maidens, as well as Salem?" Kimi asked.
"Yep, they're all informed about the Brotherhood and what they need to do in order to keep the Relics and the Maiden's safe." Qrow answered.
"Including my headmaster at Musashi?" Kimi asked again.
"Yep, old Tadatsugu has certainly proved himself to be part of the Brotherhood even before he became headmaster." Qrow chuckled, remembering the fun times he did with Tadatsugu like drinking and hitting on the girls.
"But if only the headmasters know, then why doesn't the world know? Why isn't Atlas going after them? Or Mistral?" Jaune asked.
"And why aren't we in more of a hurry to get to Haven to help protect the Relic?" Nora added another question.
"The Headmaster over there saw what happened to Beacon. He's not dumb. He'll be on his guard. Besides, it takes time to mobilize forces like that. Do you really think they planned out that attack on Beacon overnight?" Qrow asked rhetorically and look at Jaune.
"And to answer your question, it's the same reason we keep quiet about the Maidens. If the whole world knew about the Relics, about Salem, there would be chaos. There'd be another Great War on our hands, and this time, you'd have to fight." Qrow explained.
"Goodness, we certainly don't want that to happen again." Kimi surprised.
"No, we don't." Ren agreed.
"Back when he showed me and my team the truth, I had the same questions, too. But ol' Ozpin would always put his foot down. "We can't cause a panic." Heh, can't tell you how many times I've heard that." Qrow remembered with a chuckle.
"Salem's smart. She works from the shadows, using others to get what she wants, so that when it comes time to place the blame, we can only point at each other. She's trying to divide us - Humanity, and so far, she's done a pretty damn good job." Qrow warned them about Salem.
"Well, she could use a good spanking." Kimi suggested.
"That's too soft, let's break her legs then her ass!" Nora smirked evilly.
"I think you two are missing the point." Jaune said.
"Alright, what should we go?" Ruby asked, hoping he knows how to handle this situation.
"I don't really know." Qrow admitted chuckling.
This causes the teens to look at him shock and surprise, they fought an experience Huntsman like himself would know a thing or two and thought that Ozpin has given him some kind of ideas, but hearing him say he doesn't know worries them.
"Ozpin has put a lot of trust in the Headmasters. Like I said, the schools are an important part of stopping Salem. Atlas is going to be on high alert after the last attack, and Vacuo is - well, Vacuo. It'll be hard to hire thieves and scoundrels to fight against other thieves and scoundrels. Take that, add in the fact that Cinder and her crew claim to be from Haven, and I think it's likely the next target. So, we're on our way to the Headmaster. Haven't heard from him in a while, even before the attack. I'm hoping he has the answers." Qrow said looking a little depress.
"Alright, I think it's time you kids got some sleep." Qrow suggested as he got up from his log and walks away.
"Hold it, mister. You still haven't told us about your Semblance." Kimi reminded him.
"Kind of hoping you have forgotten about that." Qrow sighed.
"Are you that worry about your Semblance?" Ruby asked concern.
"Yeah… Did you know that crows are a sign of bad luck? Old superstition, but it's how I got my name. See, some people can absorb electricity and some people can burst into rose petals and some people are just born unlucky. My Semblance isn't like most - it's not exactly something I do. It's always there, whether I like it or not. I bring misfortune. I guess you could call me a bad luck charm. Comes in real handy when I'm fighting an enemy, but it makes it a little hard on friends... and family." Qrow explained about his Semblance.
"So, because of that Semblance, you had to keep your distance as far as you can. Such a sad life to go through." Kimi commented.
"You have no idea." Qrow said walking away.
Jaune, Kimi, and the others look at each other wondering how tough their journey will be now that they know everything from Qrow about the Maidens and Salem. Then suddenly a log from the fire pop out shocking the teens as they begun to think it might be the result of Qrow's bad luck semblance.
Everyone decided it was time to sleep like Qrow said and they got into their sleeping bags as Jaune and Kimi are sharing the same bag together.
"We certainly plenty of new things today." Kimi said.
"Yeah, crazy stuff that no one would believe if you hear them." Jaune stated.
"It sure sounds like Ozpin knows more about Remnant than anyone else in the whole world, almost like he's been through all those things in person and live to share the tale." Kimi commented.
"That's crazy, it would mean Ozpin would have to live like... a thousand years." Jaune believed it's impossible even for Ozpin.
"Who knows, strange things have always happened in our world." Kimi pointed out, moving her face a little closer to Jaune's.
"I just hope we'll be able to save Haven before the next academy fall happens again." Jaune worried looking at the night sky.
"I will stop it, and we'll find that Cinder bringing her to justice just like Pyrrha would have wanted." Kimi believed strongly and kiss him on the lips.
"Yeah, like Pyrrha would have wanted." Jaune smiled and they kiss each other again.
Jaune move his hands onto her breasts groping them a little making her moan within the kiss and Kimi wrapping her arms around his body as she enjoys this, the loving moment lasted for a little over two minutes before they separate.
"Come on, we should get some sleep." Jaune said.
"Oh, and I was hoping tonight would finally be the time for me to take my knight of a husband's v-card." Kimi whined.
"Sorry, Kimi, but we're still traveling to Mistral and it's still a long way to go from here. But I promise, once we get to Mistral then we can have our first time together." Jaune promised gentle touching her cheek with his hand.
"You better or else I'll get really mad at you that I'll have to move back in with my mother." Kimi warned with a pouty face.
"Don't worry, an Arc never goes back on his word. I told you that before." Jaune reminded.
"Indeed, you did." Kimi smiled and the two went to sleep.
Though Jaune stayed up a little bit thinking about something else as he stares at the night sky one last time.
"(I wonder how the rest of team RWBY are doing? I hope we'll be able to see them again.)" Jaune thought prayed before his mind went to dreamland.
(Morning)
Everyone is up and about, putting out the fire completely including the smoke and pack their things as they are ready to travel again though Jaune notices that everyone seem down probably still processing of what they learned last night.
"So, everyone's ready to go?" Jaune asked.
"I believe so." Ren shrugged.
"Come on now, you should be thrilling with energy in the morning! We'll ever bit of it we have right now if we want to make it to Haven." Kimi stated strong, pumping up her chest making her breasts bounce.
Then they turn to see Qrow sitting under a tree and coughing hard, they quickly make their way to check up on him, especially Ruby worry for her uncle.
They notice the purple stain is showing from the bandage where Tyrian's stinger cut him and Qrow show his hand is also covered in purple stain.
"Well, That's unfortunate." Qrow said before losing consciousness.
