Mother and Daughter Intense Bonding Time
Ruby is seen standing outside of the house looking up at the sky with a worry look on her face.
"Worry about your team again, I see." Kimi walked up to her.
"Yeah, I still think about them ever since we left Patch. Wondering how they are doing right now." Ruby exclaimed.
"Well, I'm sure they're doing fine and perhaps thinking about coming to Mistral too." Kimi hoped.
"That would be great, especially Yang since she has always worried about me, and I did leave without saying anything." Ruby mentioned.
"Then it's only a matter of time before she comes out of her depression and goes out on the road to find her sweet, little rose." Kimi tapped Ruby's nose making her giggle.
"Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if she is on her Bumblebee right now riding the road to Mistral right now." Ruby smiled.
What Ruby didn't know is how right she is.
(Branwen Tribe)
Yang is staring firmly at her mother who just stares back with a smirk while the tribe members just look at the scene feeling the tension between mother and daughter.
"So, after all this time you finally decided to visit me." Raven said.
Yang's left arm started to shake, but she calms it down with her robotic hand.
"You know that I searched for you. I spent years looking for you." Yang said as calmy as she can.
"And you've found me. You were patient, determined, and strong enough to make your dream a reality. Well done, Yang. But did you have to be so rough with my men?" Raven asked seeing Shady and his group with bruises from their fight with Yang.
"I didn't want a fight. They started it." Yang stated.
"Well, you certainly finished it." Raven commented.
Silence fell between the two as the tribe members didn't make a sound for a moment until Raven broke the silence.
"Right. I'm sure this is all very overwhelming. But I must admit that you've proven yourself. So, any questions you have I'll be happy to answer. You can stay with us tonight. I'll even have the cooks whip up something for you." Raven offered as she is about to enter her tent.
"That's not why I am here." Yang said in irreverence to Raven as the tribe members gasp a little.
"What was that?" Raven asked shock.
"I'm not here for you." Yang repeated.
"Ruby is somewhere in Mistral. She's with Qrow, and she's going to need my help. I just need you to take me to her." Yang explained her reason for being here.
"And why would I do that?" Raven asked glaring.
"Because we're family." Yang pointed out.
"Family. Only coming around when they need something." Raven scowled before looking back at Yang.
"I have to say, I'm disappointed. After all, you found me, didn't you? Why not take that drive and use it to find your little sister if she means that much to you?" Raven advised as she doesn't want to deal with this.
"Because you're going to save me time. Ruby was heading to Mistral, but there's no guarantee she's made it there. Looking for her in Anima could take ages. But... Dad told me how your Semblance works." Yang mentioned her dad which Raven sigh.
"Tai." Raven said under her breath.
"You can bond to certain people. And when you do, you could create a portal that takes you straight to them. You've got one for Dad. One for me. And you've got one for Qrow. He promised me he'd watch out for Ruby before he left. And I trust him. So, make a portal to my uncle and sister, and I'll be on my way." Yang explained on about Raven's Semblance and why she needs her as a shortcut.
Raven can see Yang is serious about going to find Ruby if she is with Qrow by now, which irritates her to see another family member is falling to doom with Ozpin.
"You know, it takes real strength to march in here and demand such a favor of me. I've got to say, I'm impressed. It's very noble to want to help out your sister. But if she's with Qrow, then she's already a lost cause." Raven believed.
"What does that mean?" Yang puzzled.
"You don't want to get mixed up in all of that, Yang. Ozpin is not the man you think he is. And Qrow is a fool for trusting him. I would know, I trusted him once, too." Raven stated.
"I don't care what you think." Yang said a little angry which got one woman angry at her even though she is Raven's daughter.
"Your choice is your own. All I'm suggesting is that instead of getting wrapped up in something too big for you, for any of us, that maybe you take a moment to wonder if you're already where you belong." Raven advised, hoping Yang would take it.
"Save your breath. You can spout off whatever you want, but nothing is going to keep me from my sister." Yang determined to be by Ruby's side, no matter what.
"Well, aren't you stubborn." Raven commented.
"I get it from my mom." Yang pointed out.
Raven can definitely see herself in Yang when she was young, and she does not want to deal with that.
"Well, if that's how you feel, then it sounds like we're done here. Take her away." Raven ordered her men.
The tribe members start moving towards Yang surrounding her and the blonde Huntress does not like this as she looks back at Raven.
"Did you not hear me? I said send me to Qrow, damn it!" Yang angered as her eyes turn red, but Raven only looks back at her for a second and enters her tent.
"That's enough! You watch your mouth in front of our leader!" One Bandit said.
"Make me." Yang dared.
Two bandits came at Yang for the attack, but she sent them flying with a single punch and they crash into a tent revealing a white hair girl trap into a cage.
"Yang?" The white hair girl surprised.
"Weiss!" Yang shocked.
The girl named Weiss is a pale-skinned young woman with pale blue eyes and long white hair that is often pulled back into an off-center ponytail or braid on the right side and pinned with a silver, icicle-shaped tiara. She stands at 5' 3" (1.6 meters) in heels and has a scar which runs vertically down her left eye and face. She wears a short, glittering dress with a color gradation of gray blue to pale blue at the hem, a sweetheart neckline, and a white, tulle petticoat. A white sash is wrapped multiple times around her waist, and over the outfit is worn a slightly sheer long-sleeved gray blue bolero fastened at the collar with a large sapphire broach that has three pendants dangling from it. Printed on the back of the shrug is the Schnee Crest. Completing her attire are gray blue wedge heels and sapphire drop earrings. Breasts sizes: BB-cup.
"Alright, well, subtlety is out." Weiss said to herself and summoned her mini Arma Gigas, turning it into a giant breaking out of the cage.
Weiss quickly run up to Yang with the Arma Gigas following and the two stand side by side like the good old days.
"What is that?" Yang asked.
"Don't worry about it. What are you doing here?" Weiss asked back.
"Well, that's my mom and she can take us to Ruby." Yang gestured to Raven.
"Your mom kidnapped me?!" Weiss gasped.
"You kidnapped her?!" Yang yelled at Raven.
Just as Yang and Weiss along with her summon were about to fight the bandits.
"Enough!" The woman holding Weiss's weapon shouted and a lightning bolt appeared between them.
"Thank you, Vernal" Raven thanked.
The woman named Vernal, Raven's righthand, is young woman with tan-colored skin, short brown hair and icy blue eyes. She has a tattoo of a bird rising from flowers on her left arm. She wears a light brown vest with dark brown panels on the top and a dark brown buckled strap on the back, over a torn white shirt that was partially unbuttoned revealing what appeared to be a black bra, alongside a collar that appears to be slightly turned up behind her neck. She wears maroon-colored jeans with the right side rolled up to her thigh revealing the dark pink lining alongside a brown belt with a pouch attached to the right side. She also wears dark brown calf guards with one having a garter styled strap that went under her rolled-up pant leg. She wears a pair of beige and dark brown lace-up boots with folded over sides, showing over the white lining accompanied by a pair of maroon socks that partially covered her calf guards. She wears dark brown fingerless gloves of different sizes, with the right being wrist length with a large cuff whilst the other was elbow length and covered with a dark brown vambrace. Lastly, she wears a narrow dark brown choker strap around her neck. Breasts sizes: C-cup.
"If you people don't keep it together this place will be crawling with Grimm." Raven warned her men and look at Vernal again.
"Give the girl her weapon back." Raven ordered.
Vernal was surprised and wanted to protest at first, but she didn't want to go against her leader's order and just threw the rapier back to Weiss who caught it.
"You two. In my tent. Now." Raven said annoyed.
"Why?" Yang asked.
"If you're really going after your sister, then you need to know the truth." Raven said before walking into her tent and the bandits just went back to their own business.
This left Yang and Weiss alone together for a little moment with each other.
"Sorry about" Yang's apologize was cut off when Weiss suddenly jump onto her for a strong hug.
"I missed you so much." Weiss confessed.
"I've missed you, too." Yang smiled as she hugs Weiss back.
"Come on, we better hear what my mom has to say if we ever want to get to Ruby." Yang said ending the hug and walking to the tent.
(With Oscar and Futayo)
Oscar and Futayo are seen inside the training room as the young woman in blue armor swing the long bo-staff at Oscar as she blocks each attack with the Long Memory cane, Oscar pushed one attack to the side for a counterattack swinging it to the head. Futayo was surprised for a bit and quickly dodge the strike leaning to the right and leans back to strike back smacking the cane out though he managed to dodge another strike before getting smack down.
"Well done, you managed to counterattack my strike which you never done before." Futayo impressed with Oscar's improvements.
"Thanks, but I still got my butt kicked." Oscar said as he got back up.
"It still shows that you'll be ready to face strong enemies in the near future, and we have to be ready for whatever combat the enemies will bring." Futayo stated.
"Ready for combat, that reminds me of the talk we had with Ruby the other day." Oscar mentioned.
"Ah, you mean about her reason for fighting and I believe Jaune was with us too." Futayo said.
Oscar nods and start to remember that training in the night he had with Jaune.
(A Couple Nights Ago)
"Man, I think we should call it the night." Jaune panted.
"Yeah, good call." Oscar agreed.
"Just in time, it's almost dinner time." Ruby said as she and Futayo walked down to them.
"So, Oscar, you've never fought before?" Ruby asked curiously.
"Just the occasional small Grimm. Nothing like this, though." Oscar answered.
"And now your skills will be that of fighting against bigger Grimm." Futayo believed with a proud smile.
"Bet it still must be strange for you to feel like you've been fighting for a long time." Jaune guessed.
"It does, I have only had this cane for a few weeks, but... I feel like I've had it for a lifetime. Longer, even. I sound like a crazy person." Oscar chuckled.
"I mean, uh, yeah just a little. But at this pace, you'll be combat ready in no time!" Ruby said confident.
Then Ruby just realize what she just said and Jaune also recognize that line as well, remembering a certain friend who likes to salute in greeting and was strangely friendlier than Ruby which they both got sad.
"You two okay?" Oscar asked.
"Yeah, we're fine… Just remembering someone who is no longer with us." Jaune sighed.
"We should get to dinner." Ruby turned around, not wanting to talk about it.
"Wait!" Oscar called out, stopping Ruby from walking away.
"Do you three do it? Handling all this?" Oscar asked.
"Handle what exactly?" Jaune confused of the question.
"I believe he means about us constantly fighting Grimm and bad people, facing against the face of danger." Futayo said.
"Yeah, all that. I'm scared…" Oscar said with his voice started to crack.
"I'm more scared than I've ever been in my life, than I ever thought was possible. I always knew that I wanted to be more than a farmhand, but this? Who would ask for this?" Oscar confessed his fears as he put Long Memory down with the other weapons.
Oscar looks down at the floor as a single drop of tear fell though Futayo clean his eyes with her finger.
"We all went to Hunter academies because we wanted to help people. But, you're right. None of us asked for this either. We just have to press on and—"
"How can you be so confident?! People have tried to kill you! The world's about to go to war all over again! How are you okay with any of this?!" Oscar yelled feeling scared some more, then feel Futayo's hand on his cheek.
"Oscar, in truth: everyone is scared even the bravest warriors in Remnant history though when we face those fear is then we feel stronger than before in spirit." Futayo believed strongly.
"We even keep fighting for those who have gone before us." Jaune added as he looks at the night sky.
"Pyrrha Nikos, she was the strong and brave woman I knew who had a crush on a nobody who snuck his way into Beacon like me and I was a fool for not realizing her feelings for me. She never turns away from helping others, she believes if there was even the smallest chance of helping someone, then it was a chance worth taking." Jaune smiled remembering the days with Pyrrha, then went sad on the last moment he and Kimi had with her.
"But because of that, she went into battle knowing she couldn't come back from." Jaune said.
"Penny was killed… just to make a statement, we didn't know them for long, but they were very important to us." Ruby grabbed her hands together.
"I'm sorry for both of you." Oscar apologized.
"To be honest… I am scared, but not just for me. What happened at Beacon shows that Salem doesn't care if you're standing against her or not. She'll kill anybody, and that scares me most of all. Pyrrha... Penny... I'd be lying if I said that it didn't hurt, that I didn't think about them every day since I lost them, that I didn't wish I had spent more time with them. If it had been me instead, I know they would have kept fighting too, no matter how dangerous it was. So that's what I choose to do - to keep moving forward." Ruby determined to stop Salem from harming anyone once and for all.
"That goes for me too, I won't run away from the ones who want to hurt innocent people and we all promise to see this journey through to the end." Jaune said strongly with fire in his eyes.
"Now let's go upstairs before Nora tries to eat everything." Jaune walked to the staircase.
"But Kimi is up there." Ruby reminded.
"True." Jaune nodded as they walk up.
Oscar looks onward of how amazing those two are with just those words along.
(Present)
"I never got over what they said, it made me feel like I could do something amazing too." Oscar commented.
"Yes, inspiration can come in many things." Futayo nodded.
"Not to mention, Ruby is the most amazing girl ever!" Oscar smiled with little blushes on his face, then suddenly got pulled with half his face on her face.
"I'm amazing too, you know." Futayo muttered, pouting her cheeks.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Well, Yang certainly had an intense first-meeting/reunion with her mom and even got to see her friend Weiss who was kidnapped by the tribe as both will learn what Raven has to say. Oscar even had a little flashback about the talk with Ruby and Jaune of how they're scared but are determined to keep on fighting against Salem to the end, inspiring the farmer boy though made Fuatyo feel jealous when he said Ruby is amazing.
