(Shows the host standing by a table full of weapons including swords, staves, bows, and other weapons. Behind the hosts are two dummies with two armors, one of a woman in tan clothing, black leather armor, and a red cape while the other is of a man in green and brown armor with a green hood and chainmail underneath.)
"Usually in our version of Deadliest Warrior, we deal with warriors from movies, video games, and television. But today we will tip our toe into heroes from folklore. An East vs West fight for the ages," Matthew said.
"First is Hua Mulan, one of the national heroes of China. She decided to dress as a man and fight for the emperor of Northern Wei so her aged father didn't have to fight," Dr. Ronald stated.
"But we decided to pit her against the world-famous Robin Hood, the English king of thieves who fought the corrupt forces of Prince John," Jesse said.
"I am soooo looking forward to this match-up," Matthew said with a huge grin on his face.
(Shows an Asian woman wearing tan clothing, black armor, and a red cape. She has flowing black hair and intense brown eyes. She slashes at the screen with a sword while letting out a shout.)
Hua Mulan, the female Chinese warrior of the 5th Century, went to war and became a legend.
(Shows Mulan slashes a Rouran soldier in the throat before whirling around and stabbing another one in the chest.)
vs.
(Shows a tall white man in green clothing with a hood over his head. He has light brown hair and blue eyes. He aims the camera with a longbow and fires it at the screen.)
Robin Hood, the heroic outlaw of 12th Century England, Who stole from the rich and gave it to the poor.
(Shows Robin Hood aim a corrupt knight riding on his horse and firing his longbow, sending it straight in his eye.)
WHO...IS...DEADLIEST?
To find out, the history of war and modern science collide, as Biomedical Scientists Matthew Roth applies 21st-century technology to unlock new data on some of movies, video games, and comics' greatest weapons. ER doctor Dr. Ronald Mack will assess the damage made by these dangerous weapons of war. And Computer Whiz Jesse Jacobs will input the data in the battle simulation that will determine the winner. Two of the media's greatest warriors will be put on the battlefield. History will be written. But only one will be crowned:
DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
Welcome to the Fight Club, where we've set up a high-tech battle zone. We've gathered scientists, doctors, computer experts, and martial arts and weapons experts. All to simulate a battle between two very well-known national folk heroes.
First up, Hua Mulan. China's famous female warrior who fought in a war so her aging father wouldn't have to.
Hua Mulan Stats:
Appearing from: The Ballad of Mulan
Cira: 432 AD
Age: 22
Height: 5'2
Weight: 110lbs
Armor: Leather Lamellar
Her newest opponent is the most famous outlaw in history.
Robin Hood, England's heroic thief that would fight for the poor by robbing the rich of their ill-gotten gains.
Robin Hood Stats:
Appearing from: Legends of Robin Hood
Circa: 1191 AD
Age: 25
Height: 5'8
Weight: 165lbs
Armor: Riveted Chainmail
(Shows a Chinese-American woman in red and black kung fu clothes and shoes, her black hair tied back into a ponytail. She is twirling a staff before striking a pose with it.)
Representing Mulan is Jennifer Zhang, a master of Wushu and Chinese weapons, she's an authority on the weapons, martial arts, and tactics of Mulan.
"Hua Mulan is a respected hero of China. I have no idea why people like Robin Hood, a thief is still a thief." Jennifer stated.
The Ballad of Mulan tells us that when the Rouran Khaganate went to war with the Northern Wei Dynasty in the fifth century, the emperor sent notice that all people within the empire should send one man to help fight them off. Mulan's father was too old to fight and her only brother was just a child, too young to fight. She decided to disguise herself as a man and took her father's place in the army. She would fight for twelve years and after the war ends, she turns down a high-ranking position in the court and returns home. She would soon reveal her true self to her comrades, who never suspected she was a woman.
The tale of Mulan has been told over the centuries though mostly in China. However, in 1998, the animated movie by Disney would result in worldwide exposure of Mulan. The closest real-world equivalent to Hua Mulan was an 18th-century rebel leader named Wang Cong'er, who lead a rebellion against the Qing Dynasty and fought with her men on the front lines.
"I feel with all of my heart that Mulan will take out Robin Hood and continue to rise in legend," Jennifer stated with a confident smile.
Hua Mulan comes with a deadly arsenal of Chinese weapons:
Short Range: Jian Sword
Mid Range: Chang Gun Staff
Long Range: Chinese Recurve Bow and Arrows
Special Weapon: Whip Chain
(Shows a tall white man with shaggy brown hair and brown eyes, wearing a green hoody, black combat pants, and boots. He aims with a longbow and fires off its arrows at a target, hitting a bullseye.)
Representing Robin Hood is John Easton, a master archer, and medieval weapons expert, he knows the weapons, tactics, and history of Robin Hood.
"Robin Hood would easily take out Mulan. He took on technologically superior opponents compared to her," John said with a grin.
The Legend of Robin Hood has changed over the centuries, the most common version now is that Robin Hood was Robert of Loxley, a nobleman who fought for Richard the Lionheart during the Third Crusades. When he returned home, his lands had been taken by evil Prince John with the help of the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham, upon seeing the injustice of these two men had brought on not only him but the peasants, Robert soon became Robin Hood and with his band of Merry Men, would steal from the rich and give to the poor. He would fight against the tyrannical rule of Prince John and soon find love with the beautiful Maid Marian. Once King Richard returns to England and rids the throne of John, He and Marian would live happily ever after.
Robin Hood's adventure would be carried on for centuries in the form of plays, stories, movies, cartoons, and games.
"Robin Hood will take this easily, I can feel it," John finished with a smile.
Robin Hood comes in with a lethal set of medieval weapons:
Short Range: English Longsword
Mid Range: Quarterstaff
Long Range: English Longbow and arrows
Special Weapon: Crusader Dagger
But how would England's heroic outlaw fair against China's fierce female warrior?
"This could go either way, I say we run some tests and settle this," Jesse said.
When it came to short-range, both warriors came in with deadly swords to slash and stab enemies. Hua Mulan comes in with:
The Jian Sword, an elegant and deadly double-edged sword, is known as the "Gentlemen of Weapons."
(Shows Mulan stabs a Rouran soldier in the chest with her Jian before pulling it out and twirling around and slicing another throat when he tries to attack her from behind.)
"The Jian is one of the famous blades to come out of China, the other being the Dao. It's a straight, double-edged sword with a blade length of 18 to 31 inches. A sword like this would be up Mulan's alley because it's light, fast, and deadly as hell," Weapons crafter Danny Tochigi explained as he put the finishing touches on a fully functional replica of the sword.
(Shows the group standing by hanging pig and a gel torso covered in chainmail, Jennifer is armed with her sword.)
"So here is your test, we want to test out the Jian's stabbing and cutting power on this pig, which its flesh is the closest thing to human flesh. Next, you'll test the blade against a dummy decked out in the riveted chainmail worn by Robin Hood," Matthew explained.
Jennifer nodded and got into a fighting stance, ready for the go-ahead signal.
"GO!" Matthew yelled.
With a shout, Jennifer stabbed the pig directly in the chest, the blade coming out the back. She yanks the blade out and does a spinning slash that disemboweled the pig, making fake stage blood come pouring out. She then took her blade and stabbed the pig in the throat before taking the blade out and then slashing the pig across the throat.
With her pig target done with, she turned to the armored gel torso. She slashed across the stomach but the armor held and the blade was deflected. Not deterred, Jennifer thrusts the blade into the chainmail and manages to penetrate the armor and go into the chest. Yanking the blade out, Jennifer signaled for the test to end. After she sheathed her sword, Dr. Ronald came in to check the damage.
"With the pig, you did a number on it, the first shot went straight through the chest and out the back, meaning he dies damn near instantly. The slice across the stomach spilled his gusts all over the floor and death would swiftly follow. Then the wounds to the throat would kill damn near instantly as well," Dr. Ronald explained as he checked out the ripped-up pig.
He soon turned to the armor-clad dummy.
"The slash didn't do anything, meaning Robin Hood would still be alive and swinging his sword but the stab did get through and from what I can see, it did go deep enough to kill," Dr. Ronald finished.
"Nice little display but nothing Robin couldn't handle," John said.
"I doubt your little thief can stand against a woman trained in martial arts and seen the fires of war," Jennifer shot back.
"Please, Robin Hood was trained in the arts of European warfare and also saw war, remember, he fought in the Third Crusade alongside King Richard the Lionheart." John fired back.
"Alright guys, let's settle down," Jesse said, "So let's see what Robin Hood brings to the fight."
"Gladly," John grinned.
Robin Hood comes slashing back with his own deadly killer:
The English Longsword, a deadly double edge sword that cut down many enemies of the English, foreign or domestic.
(Shows Robin Hood in a sword fight with a corrupt guard of the Sheriff of Nottingham, he cuts the man at the back of the knees before stabbing him in the back of the neck.)
"The English Longsword is the variant of the European longsword used by the people of the British isles. It has a blade length of 33 to 43 inches long and its double edge for excellent slashing and a nice point for stabbing," Danny said as he showed off his completed replica.
(Shows the group standing by the testing area, the test has been reset. John is armed with his sword.)
"All right John, we have the same test for you. A pig for unprotected damage and a gel dummy decked out in Leather Lamellar armor," Matthew explained.
John nodded and soon got in front of the hanging pig, waiting for the signal to start.
"GO!" Matthew yelled.
With a yell, John swung his longsword at the lower part of the pig and cleaved right through it, the lower half falling on the ground and blood gushing out of the pig. He soon took his blade and stabbed the chest area before pulling it out and slicing off the upper part as well, only the head and upper hooves now hanging on the rope.
Feeling he had proved his point, John turned to an armored dummy and slashed diagonally down the chest, the blade going straight through the armor and leaving a nasty gash. He soon took his blade and stabbed at an intact part of the armor and the blade went straight through the armor. With his test complete, John called an end to the test and sheathed his sword. Dr. Ronald came in to survey the damage.
"Wow, this blade did all kinds of damage. His first shot cut the lower part of the pig in half, which means he dies of rapid blood loss. The stab to the chest would go straight through the heart and kill instantly. And the uppercut is the same as the lower part, rapid bleed out and die," Dr. Ronald explained.
He then turned his attention to the dummy.
"Well the armor didn't hold up to the blade, this gash would bleed heavily and likely kill in a few minutes and the stab went straight through the armor as well and went into the stomach, which would be a painful death," Dr. Ronald explained.
"While that blade might be better than mine, Mulan is better trained and faster than this lowly thief, he wouldn't be able to touch her," Jennifer scoffed.
"I think you're just denying the evidence you see before you, all would take is one slash or stab and Mulan is dead on the ground," John stated confidently.
Mulan's Jian or Robin Hood's English Longsword, which weapon gives their warrior the edge in short-range weapons?
"This goes to the English Longsword, it could go through the armor of Mulan's whereas Mulan's Jian failed to slash through the armor of Robin's," Jesse explained.
In Short Range Weapon, EDGE: Robin Hood.
Next up, these two warriors bring in staves to bash their opponent with, and later, two bows go toe to toe, and later, we determine the DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
XXXXXXXXXX
When these two warriors needed to keep their foes at a distance, they used wooden staves. Hua Mulan strikes with:
The Chang Gun Staff, a long staff that is widely known as the weapon of choice for Shaolin Monks.
(Shows Mulan does some fancy staff twirling at some Rouran soldiers before striking one in the face with a swipe, knocking him out.)
"The Chang Gun is the tallest of the staffs used in Chinese martial arts, it is made with the tough and flexible wax wood in China. Its length is anywhere from six to seven feet." Danny said, showing off a replica.
(The group is standing by a set up with six clay pots hanging on ropes along a gel torso and head on a table standing up. Jennifer is armed with her Chang Gun.)
"So here is your test, we have these clay pots for you to break to see how many you can break with a couple of swings, and then you'll turn your attention to the gel torso to see what kind of damage it does to the body and head," Matthew explained, "Jennifer, your up first with the Chang Gun."
Jennifer nodded and got into position, she started to do some fancy twirling with staff but waited for the signal.
"GO!" Matthew yelled.
After hearing Matthew, Jennifer swung the staff and destroyed three of the pots with one swing, after recovering and again doing some twirling, Jennifer smashes through the other three pots with no problem.
She soon fixes her gaze onto to gel dummy and swings at it, planting the end straight into its jaw and breaking it. She soon thrusts the other end into the sternum of the dummy before she spins the staff and striking the side of the skull, causing a sickening crack to resound. Feeling she made her point, Jennifer indicated she was done and stepped away from the test. Dr. Ronald came in to check the dummy for damage.
"Your first blow broke this poor guy's jaw, which would cause excruciating pain and likely stun him. The second blow hit the sternum and that would hurt as well but with no bone broken, he would live. And for the last blow, you managed to crack the skull, which would be lethal if no medical treatment is not done, but given the medical care in both warriors' time periods, would mean this guy is likely a dead man," Dr. Ronald explained.
"Nice show Jennifer," John said confidently, "But I think my stick will be better than yours."
Jennifer simply rolls her eyes at John's comment.
Robin Hood comes in with his own wooden killer:
The Quarterstaff, a peasants weapon that fought off anybody who got within range.
(Shows Robin fighting a Nobles son who is armed with a knife. Robin takes his staff and jabs the man in the stomach before bashing him in the head with his staff.)
"The quarterstaff is a weapon that a shepherd would have to protect his flock from predators because he couldn't buy or wouldn't be allowed to own a sword. The staff is six feet long and made oak," Danny said as he showed off a replica.
(Shows the test being reset and once it's finished, the group is seen by it, John armed with his quarterstaff.)
"Alright same test for you John, when you are ready," Matthew said to him.
John nodded and got into position with his weapon at the ready, waiting for the signal to begin.
"GO!" Matthew yelled.
With a shout, John swung his quarterstaff at the pots and managed to smash through two of them on the right, followed up with a swung to the left that destroyed those pots as well. He then thrusts his staff, breaking the last pot.
He soon turned to the gel torso and his first swing hit the gel dummy right in the jaw, breaking it. He then thrust his staff into the gel dummy's chest before doing an overhead strike that cracked the skull open. With his point being made, John soon called for the test to stop and Dr. Ronald came in to check the damage.
"From what I can see, you did about the same amount of damage as Jennifer did with the Chang Gun, broken jaw, bruised his sternum, and cracked his skull."
"I did notice it took you a little longer to break the pots compared to Jennifer here," Matthew stated.
"Well here is the thing, in some tellings of the story, Little John managed to beat Robin in stick fighting, however, this made Robin more relatable. Rather than be some unbeatable hero who was a prefect at everything, he had flaws and weaknesses that made him seem more like a real person," John explained.
"Well, that's nice and all but unless he brings his A-game to this fight, Mulan will exploit those weaknesses and kill him," Jennifer retorted.
Mulan's Chang Gun Staff or Robin Hood's Quarterstaff, which weapon gives their warrior the edge in mid-range combat?
"While both staves managed to get the job done, Jennifer did manage better with her staff compared to John. And since Jennifer's skill is said to be equal to Mulan herself, we are giving her the edge," Jesse explained.
In Mid Range Weapons, EDGE: Hua Mulan
Next up, two bows go toe to toe and after that, a chained killer goes up against a deadly dagger. Who will be the DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
XXXXXXXXXX
When these two warriors needed to kill at a distance, they came in with deadly bows and arrows. Robin Hood comes in with a legendary bow of England:
The English Longbow, considered the most deadly weapon of European Warfare until the invention of the firearm.
(Shows Robin aim at a corrupt nobleman on a horse and fires an arrow at him, striking him in the neck and knocking of the horse)
"The English Longbow is one of the finest weapons to come out of the Medieval era, being made famous at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. It's made of yew wood most of the time but elm and ash wood could be used as well. It is six feet long and usually fired three-foot arrows tipped with iron or steel arrowheads," Danny said as he showed off a replica.
(Shows the group outside at a firing range, several dummies are set up, three of them are unarmed and one with leather lamellar strapped to it. John is armed with his bow and has a quiver of arrows on his back.)
"Alright here is your test, we have four targets for you, three unarmored ones and one with leather lamellar to see the penetration power of your arrows. You'll be giving six arrows to do as much damage as possible," Matthew explained.
John nodded and soon went up to the firing line. He drew his arrow and notched it to his string, waiting for the sign to start.
"Alright, fire away!" Matthew yelled.
John soon drew the string back and aimed, releasing his arrow. Said arrow flew into the air and struck the first dummy straight through the eye. John quickly got another arrow, notched it, and took aim, firing at the first dummy again, hitting it in the chest. He repeated his motions and aimed at the second and fired, hitting it between the eyes. Having made his point, when John got his bow ready, he fired his arrow at the third unarmored dummy, striking it in the neck. He soon took his second to the last arrow and aimed it at the armored dummy and fired it, the arrow going straight to the chest. He soon loaded up his last arrow and fired it again, this time hitting right in the mouth.
With his test done, John lowered his bow, and soon, Dr. Ronald came in to check the damage.
"This right here is a perfect example of accuracy and damage. The first dummy gets an arrow to the eye, which means he feels the arrow go in, hemorrhages, and then dies. The next shot goes straight through the heart, which is an instant kill. The second dummy gets one right between the eyes, which is instant kill city. The third one takes on in the neck, which would bleed out quickly and cause death. The last and armored dummy is equally dead, the shot to the chest went straight through the armor and into the heart. And one of the mouths, it's almost like this guy screamed out and Robin shot him in the mouth. All and All, four kills," Dr. Ronald explains.
"Robin is the most known archer in all of history and folklore, it is this weapon that will win him this match."
When Mulan need to kill from a distance, she used:
The Chinese Recurve Bow, The deadly accurate bow that has felled thousands.
(Shows Mulan fire her bow at a charging Rouran soldier in the chest with her bow, sending him to the ground dead.)
The Chinese Recurve bow was tested against a similar armored opponent in "Stormcloak Rebel vs Lin Kuei Assassin." So the panelist looks over the test footage and data. Robin Hood's English Longbow or Hua Mulan's Chinese Recurve bow, which bow gives their warrior the edge in long-range weapons?
"Both Bows are pretty effective but the English Longbow has the reputation of going through Chainmail, plus there is Robin Hood's reputation as a master archer who could split his own arrows with another one," Jesse said.
In Long Range Weapons, EDGE: Robin Hood
Next up, a whirling chain weapon goes up against a deadly sharp dagger, and after that, THE FINAL BATTLE! Who will be the DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
XXXXXXXXXX
In our last series of tests, both warriors pull out very different weapons, Hua Mulan comes whirling in with:
The Whip Chain, four feet of segmented steel that kept foes at a distance.
(Shows Hua Mulan whirling the chain around in a masterful way before bringing the chain down on a Rouran Soldier head.)
"The nine section whip chain or as it's called in China, the jiujiebian, is a flexible chain weapon made of nine chainlinks, with the last one being a metal dart. It could be used to strike, hook and bind opponents and bend around objects to strike at blocking opponents. It was made of steel with a wood handle. It also had fur or feather on them so they would make noise, allowing the user to know where the lethal part of the weapon was at all times," Danny said as he showed off a replica.
(Shows the group standing by five orbs suspended by wire and a dummy with an English Longsword in its hands. Jennifer is armed with her whip chain.)
"So here is your test, we have five orbs filled with fake blood for you to destroy and since this weapon is known to be used to hook weapons and disarm people, we want you to disarm this dummy of its sword," Matthew explained, "Are you ready?"
"Always," Jennifer said with confidence.
Jennifer got into position and readied her weapon.
"GO!" Matthew yelled.
Jennifer began to spin the chain over her head, a whooshing sound could be heard due to the feather on the front of the weapon to let Jennifer know where it was. She soon swung the chain out and destroyed three orbs, its fake blood flying out. Jennifer quickly destroyed the other two orbs with another spin of the chain. After that was done, Jennifer turned her attention to the dummy with the sword, she swings the chain and wraps it around the blade. With a tug of the chain, Jennifer managed to yank the sword out of the dummy's hands.
With the demonstration complete, Jennifer stood back and allowed the hosts to check out the damage.
"I got to admit, this is an impressive display. That whip chain has a four-foot radius and you can use it to keep your opponent at a distance. Plus you have the option to disarm your opponent with it," Matthew said.
"Is it very lethal?" Jesse asked.
"No, it isn't but I believe its versatility makes up for it," Jennifer stated.
"Well then I would call it a useless weapon," John said with a smug grin, "I'll show you a proper weapon."
Robin Hood come stabbing in with:
The Crusader Dagger, a lethal dagger that can cut and stab any enemy down.
(Shows Robin Hood sneaking behind a corrupt tax collector and stab in in the back, covering his mouth so he can't shout out in pain.)
"The Crusader dagger is a pointed knife that was made of steel, it was made primarily to pierce chainmail but it could be used to slash as well. They were thirteen and a half inches in length and weight roughly a pound," Danny said as he showed off a model.
(Shows the group standing by a dummy in leather lamellar armor. John is armed with his dagger.)
"Alright, we have a simple test for you, we got this armored dummy ready for you. You are to do as much damage as possible to this thing while testing the penetrating power of the dagger," Matthew said, "Are you ready?"
"Absolutely," John said with a grin.
John decided to take up position behind the dummy, to simulate a sneak attack. He looked over at Matthew to indicate he was ready.
"GO!" Matthew yelled.
John snuck up to the dummy and grabbing it by the shoulder, he soon thrusts the dagger straight into the back of the dummy, the blade going straight through the armor. He ripped the blade out and soon whipped it around the dummy's throat, slitting it. As blood came out of the dummy's neck, John came around the front and began to stab the dummy repeatedly in the chest before finishing the dummy with a stab to the eye. With his work done, John pulled the blade out of the dummy's eyes and stood back as Dr. Ronald came in to check the damage.
"Wow, you did a number on this dummy. First of all, the stab in the back would have gone straight through the heart, killing him damn near instantly. The throat slit would cut the carotid artery and the jugular vein, which means he bleeds out within seconds and dies, the stabs to the chest are all center mass, right in the abdominal aorta, the biggest blood vessel in the body, which means he bleeds out in seconds and dies. And lastly, the stab to the eyes goes straight to the brain, leading to instant death, all and all, this is overkill," Dr. Ronald explains.
"See, I told you I would show you a proper weapon," John said to Jennifer with a grin.
"While you may have a good weapon, you're thief would have to get within range to use it properly. No way he gets through four feet of whirling steel without either getting hit with the dart, tripped up with it, or disarmed of the dagger," Jennifer answered back.
Mulan's Whip Chain or Robin Hood's Crusader Dagger, which weapon gives their warrior the edge in Special Weapons?
"While the dagger is absolutely lethal in close range, the versatility of the whip chain can't be denied. It can do many things and it can keep people armed with daggers at a distance," Jesse stated.
In Special Weapons, EDGE: Hua Mulan
Now we evaluate our warriors X-Factor, one defining attribute they alone carry into this fight. For Hua Mulan, it is that she fought during a time where female warriors were rare.
"Mulan is considered to be one of history's best examples of female empowerment during a time where many other countries around the world would execute a woman forever consider allowing a woman to fight in battle. I acknowledge that when you look at her, she comes off as too perfect, or as people say it today, a Mary Sue, she is right up there with Joan of Arc as one of the most important female warriors in history," Jennifer explained.
For Robin Hood, it is his willingness to fight for what was right regardless of the cost.
"Remember that in the most modern versions of Robin Hood, he was of noble birth and had his lands taken away from him by corrupt people. He could have taken the money he stole and ran off with it, not caring about the poor. But he saw the misery that Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham were causing to the peasants and decided to share the wealth. That is why he is so remembered," John explained.
Next up, THE FINAL BATTLE! Hua Mulan or Robin Hood, who will be THE DEADLIEST WARRIOR!
XXXXXXXXXX
With our tests complete and X-Factor evaluated, we are one step closer to determining the Deadliest Warrior!
We tested four weapons that Hua Mulan used to strike down her enemies: The Jian Sword, Chang Gun Staff, Chinese Recurve Bow, and Whip Chain
We also tested four weapons used by Robin Hood to strike at his enemies: The English Longsword, Quarterstaff, English Longbow, and Crusader Dagger.
In short-range weapons, the cutting and penetrating power of the English Longsword beat out the Jian.
EDGE: Robin Hood
In mid-range weapons, Hua Mulan's better experience with the Chang Gun Staff outdid the Quarterstaff.
EDGE: Hua Mulan
In long-range weapons: Robin Hood's legendary skill with the English Longbow outshot the Chinese Recurve Bow

The battle simulator will be set for five thousand battles. It will be the East's most famous female warrior taking on the West's legendary heroic outlaw.
ONE SHALL STAND, ONE SHALL FALL!
Jesse enters the last of the data in the simulator and hits the enter button.
The Battle:
In a wooded area that transcends space and time, a man in green clothing, a hood over his head, and wearing chainmail under it all is sitting down on a stump, rummaging through the belongings of a corrupt nobleman he had just robbed. It is the known heroic outlaw Robin Hood, who is looking for valuables to sell to his fence to help the peasants of these lands. He had a quiver full of arrows for his English Longbow, which is sitting right beside him. He also had an English Longsword and Crusader Dagger on either side of his waist and a Quarterstaff propped up on a tree near him.
A bird let out a shrill cry, which made the outlaw look around, thinking that someone may be nearby. However, when nothing happened afterward, he continued to look through his loot.
Dozen of yards away from the outlaw, a Chinese woman approaches. Said female is in tan clothing, black leather lamellar armor, and red cape, her flowing black hair would fly behind her when gusts of wind would hit. It is the female warrior Hua Mulan and she came looking into bandit attacks happening around here by order of the Emperor. She has her Jian strapped to her waist, her Recurve bow in one hand, and her Chang Gun Staff in the other. On her back is a quiver full of arrows for her bow. She had a Whip Chain on her person as well.
Mulan noticed the man sitting on the stump, going through his stolen loot and figured he was the one who was responsible for the attacks, and decided to take him out right then and there. She got an arrow for her bow but a bird call spooked the man and he began to look around, which forced Mulan to hide behind a tree. The female warrior waited for a while before checking again, seeing the man had continued to look through his ill-gotten gains.
Soon Mulan took aim and as she fired her bow, Robin had dropped something on the ground, causing him to bend over to grab his trinket. This caused the arrow to fly over his head and lodge in the tree next to him. Robin looked over at the arrow before standing up and whipping his head around to see his attacker, Mulan began to get another arrow out of her quiver. Robin grabbed his Longbow from the stump and got his own arrow out.
Mulan got her arrow ready, aimed it, and fired but Robin managed to sidestep the arrow and it went flying past him. He nocked his arrow onto his string and Robin aimed, seeing this, Mulan ran to the side to force Robin to shoot at a running target. Robin tracked his target and fired his arrow in front of her. The arrow landing within inches of Mulan on a tree. Mulan realized that she may be facing an Archer that was better than she was, something she didn't think was possible.
Mulan decided to retreat to a better position and ran back the way she came, zig-zagging between trees to throw off Robin's aim. She disappeared and this forced Robin to put his arrow back in its quiver and grab his Quarterstaff, under normal circumstances, he would beat a retreat and fight another day but he knew this time he had to finish this fight. So he chased after the woman who had tried to kill him.
As he ran deeper into the woods, he stopped soon after a few minutes and looked around, making his way carefully. Soon he heard movement behind and he turned to see the woman charging him with staff in her hand. Robin threw his longbow to the side and got his quarterstaff ready in time to block a jumping overhead attack from her. Both warriors soon circled each other for a moment, when Mulan came flying in with whirling attacks from her staff, Robin just barely managing to block or parry each one of her attacks. Mulan kept up her attacks but Robin managed to block them until he managed to wrestle her staff out of her hand with his own.
Despite being disarmed, Mulan showed no fear. Robin was surprised at this for a second before going for several thrusts in an attempt to knock her out. Mulan, with her martial arts mastery, managed to dodge each thrust until she managed to grab a hold of the quarterstaff and kick it out of Robin's hands. Both looked at each other for a moment before their hands fell onto their blades.
They drew their swords at the same time and got ready for the fight of their lives. They circled each other again, waiting for the other to make the first move. Soon, Robin came swinging in with slashes at Mulan, which the Chinese warrior managed to block or parry. Mulan kept light on her feet, moving side to side because she knew Robin had the size, weight, and strength advantage, figuring her speed would win the day. Soon Robin tried to slash her with a wide decapitating slash but she managed to effortless dodge it and now had a clear shot at Robin's back.
Rather than go for a stab, she slashed Robin in the back, ripping his clothing but his riveted chainmail held. Robin felt the blow but luckily his armor had saved him. He spun around and continued with his attack, which seemed to get more focused, having learned his lesson. The two would clash metal but Robin got luck and slashed at Mulan's side, leaving a superficial gash as his blade cut through her armor.
Mulan let out a shout of pain but had no time to nurse said pain. Robin came back in and hit her sword hard enough to knock it out of her hand. Again disarmed, Mulan deiced to play dirty and kick Robin in the stomach, forcing him back and creating distance. Mulan managed to get out her whip chain and began whirling overhead to create a four-foot area of protection around her.
Robin tried to step back into the fight with his sword but the chain prevented him from getting close to Mulan. He would try striking at the dart with his sword since he could hear it because of the feather on it to alert Mulan of its location but it was too fast for him to hit. Soon Mulan tried a low strike to the legs but Robin merely jumped over it. As she kept up with her defense, she saw her opportunity and wrapped her chain around Robin's sword. Before could react, Mulan yanks on the chain to disarm him of his blade.
Now with the roles reversed, Mulan tried to press the attack with whirling attacks that force Robin to back up and eventually turn to run. Before he could, Mulan used her chain to wrap it around one of Robin's legs and trip him up, the outlaw falling on his face. While he was down, Mulan grabs her Jian, this time intending to stab Robin. However, as she did this, Robin got his Crusader Dagger out. Mulan soon approached the down thief and raised her sword over her head for a downward stab but Robin was faster and stuck his dagger into her thigh.
Mulan let out a howl of pain as she dropped her Jian and fell to the ground, clutching her wounded leg. Robin managed to get to his feet and make his way to his discarded longbow. As this is happening, Mulan reaches down and pulls the dagger out of her leg with a whelp of pain. She sits up only to see Robin aiming his longbow with an arrow in it at her. She only widens her eyes in fear as Robin fires it and the arrow flies out and catches her right in the right eye, the arrow coming out the other end and getting stuck halfway in. The female warrior soon falls to the side, dying shortly afterward.
With his victory complete, Robin Hood, King of Thieves and Hero of Outlaws, raises his longbow into the air and roars in victory.
