Chapter 3: The 8th Child Revealed

Soon after defeating SkullMeramon, Ash contacted Lusamine, not just to inform her that Lillie was safe but to introduce the Digidestend to her. Lillie stood beside Ash, so her mother wouldn't frantically ask where she was. Plus, it allowed him and Lillie more time before Lillie had to go with Mimi. The phone only rang once before Lusamine picked up.

"LIllie, my precious little girl, are you okay?

"She does realize Lillie's a teenager, right," Tai whispered to Sora.

"In Mrs. Aether's defense, Lillie was kidnapped twice," Sora responded in a whisper.

Lillie flushed scarlet. "MOTHER PLEASE DON'T EMBARRASS ME."

Lusamine gave Lillie a stern look. "Lillie, you were kidnapped twice, nearly had your body stolen, and you were turned to stone."

"She does make a valid argument," Tentomon buzzed.

Lusamine blinked, "Ash, who was that?"

Ash turned the phone's screen towards the DigiDestined, introduced them, and explained the situation. Lusamine nodded and turned her gaze to the kids. "Thank you for all you've done, and Please help Ash protect my sweet precious little girl.

Lillie's face flushed red with anger. "MOTHER, I CAN TAKE CARE OF MYSELF."

"I know, dear, but after everything that has happened, I can't help but worry. Plus, unlike Ash, who has a Digimon partner and a team that can go head to head with Champion Level trainers, you only have Snowy," Lusamine pointed out. Lillie wanted to retort, but she had to admit that her mother was right.

Tai stepped forward, promising that Lillie would be fine. Lillie scowled. Ash rubbed her shoulders, calming her down.

Lusamine smiled and wished them luck before hanging up.

Mimi yawned. "All this fighting left me exhausted. Hey, I know since we found what we were looking for, let's go shopping." The boys and their Digimon, plus Pikachu and Lucario, groaned, while Lillie and Sora could somewhat understand Mimi's logic.

"No offense, Mimi, but I want to train with Lapras. See how strong she's gotten." Ash said to Mimi, who nodded as Lillie smiled.

"That's my boyfriend, she thought. Always makes sure his Pokemon are in tip-top shape," Lillie said as Snowy hopped on her shoulder.

The girls decided to go shopping, and Ash and Lillie shared a kiss. Tai and Izzy decided to watch how the newest team member operated.

Meanwhile, Falcomon heard a voice in his head. "Falcomon."

Falcomon blinked, "Wizardmon, is that you?"

"Yes, it is. I believe what I predicted about Gatomon will happen tonight."

Falcomon was stunned. "TONIGHT? Yikes, that was quick. Did you find the Digivice that ties to her and the child, and who is the child?"

"Not yet, my friend. But be prepared. The time to take down Myotismon is near. I have a feeling it will be found tonight. As for who the child is. It's closer to the others than they think, you'll see when we meet tonight, so please keep an ear out. We'll meet up at the place you are staying at," Wizardmon said to Falcomon, who sighed. And he thought that he was discreet about things and nodded.

"Understood, Wizardmon. See you tonight, Falcomon out," Falcomon said in his head as Wizardmon nodded.

"Stay safe, Falcomon, Wizardmon out," Wizardmon ended the mental connection as Falcomon looked at the group and sighed.

It's time for things to start for our plans to take down Myotismon. Here's hoping that things don't take a wrong turn. Falcomon thought as Pikachu noticed that he was in thought and knew something was up, but let it go for now.

5 HOURS LATER

"Mom, I'm home," Tai shouted Ash and Pika

"Tai, you're late," Mrs. Kamiya says, annoyed at the late hour her son had come home. She notices Ash and Pikachu. "Oh, and who is this?"

"Oh, this is Ash. He arrived in town with his fiancee, Lillie, today, and Ash needs a place to stay as Lillie bought her wedding dress," Tai said, coming up with the first thing he could do to convince his mom to allow Ash to stay.

"Finacee? Kids these days keep getting married younger and younger. Well, I understand why they need to be apart temporarily." Mrs Kamiya's eyes landed squarely on Pikachu. "And the mouse?"

Ash spoke up. "Pikachu was a gift from a good friend of my mom when I turned 10. No need to worry. He's house-trained."

Pikachu smiled. "Pikachu" (Hi)

Mrs. Kamiya put a hand on her chin in thought. "A pet mouse as a gift that's strange."

Tai invited Ash and Pikachu into his and Kari's room, Kari following them.

Tai turned to Ash. "What did Mrs. Aether mean when she said you had a team that can go head to head with Champion Level trainers."

Ash explained about the Masters 8 competition. Tai and Agumon's jaws dropped in shock at how strong Ash was. Falcomon smiled, knowing he had chosen the right person to be his partner.

Kari lifted Pikachu into the air. "It's amazing you can go head to head with the creatures in your world with powers equivalent to a Digimon." Pikachu smiled and licked Kari's face, causing her to giggle.

Unbeknownst to Ash, Tai, Kari Pikachu Falcomon, and Agumon, Gatomon watched them from atop a building across the street.

"If Kari is the eighth child, I must destroy her. But every time I see her, I get this strange sensation. I wonder why I wasn't able to attack her when I had the chance," Gatomon said out loud, thinking she was alone.

[FLASHBACK to the apartment, earlier that day]

Kari turned her head. "Hi!"

Gatomon was stunned. Kari knew she was there. "Huh?"

Kari tried to grab Gatomon. "Come here."

Gatomon was startled. "uh, whoa!" She fell off the couch, shaking her head to remove the dizziness.

"Are you going already? But you'll come back again, right, Kari asked the cat Digimon.

[End FLASHBACK]

Gatomon shook her head, trying to forget the weird feeling from that afternoon. "What happened? I could have destroyed the DigiDestined once and for all, but something was pulling me away." She saw that Kari had left the room and started playing with Miko, the Kamiya Family's pet cat. "Look at that cat. She's got it so easy. She gets fed gourmet food out of a can and gets to chase a sock all day. Talk about a perfect life. No one was nice to me like that when I was growing up. Nobody was nice, period! When I was Salamon, I was a slave to the evil Myotismon."

[FLASHBACK to Myotismon's castle]

"Every time you look at me with those eyes, I'll have to hurt you," Myotismon said to her.

[End FLASHBACK]

"I couldn't understand it. I guess he didn't like my eyes," Gatomon said aloud.

[GATOMON pulled her glove back to reveal a red scar]

"This is one of the scars Myotismon gave me just because I have these eyes. It's not my fault. I wish I could remember when I was born. I have no idea what I did before I met Myotismon." Gatomon said, not knowing that she was being watched.

[WIZARDMON flies behind GATOMON]

"Thinking about the good old days," Wizardmon asked.

Gatomon was annoyed. "I'm not going to tell you again, Wizardmon. Don't read my thoughts without my permission!"

"I'm sorry, Gatomon. Please forgive me," Wizardmon apologized.

"Shouldn't you be out looking for the eighth DigiDestined human?" Gatommon asked Wizardmon.

Wizardmon inwardly snorted but complied with the request. "Yes, I'll get right on it!"

[WIZARDMON flew away]

[GATOMON runs and jumps onto a ledge, looking at KARI through the window]

Gatomon chuckled, knowing only she knew where the 8th child was, or so she thought.

[WIZARDMON was flying above some woods searching for the Digivice]

"Still no reaction from the crest," he mused out loud, wondering where the 8th Digivice was.

[the Crest suddenly glowed]

Wizardmon eyes widened. "It's reacting! The Digivice must be close by." He looks at a crow's nest and sees the Digivice in the crow's nest.]

The crow launched itself at Wizardmon, ready to strike. Caw! Caw!

Wizardmon: "The Digivice! Thunder Ball!"

[The attack shoos the bird away]

"Hey, Wizardmon!" DemiDevimon's voice called out.

Wizardmon groaned. Terrific, he thought. Demidevimon shows up just as I find the device.

"Whatcha doin' over there," DemiDevimon asked.

Wizardmon knew he had to think fast. "Uh, nothing!"

DemiDevimon gave him a look. "It's hard to believe you came out here to do nothing. Come on, what did you find?"

Wizardmon took a deep breath. Hopefully, this works and gets rid of him. "Alright. If I tell you, you have to promise not to tell anyone else!"

"Come on, show me," DemiDevimon begged, hoping it was something to do with the 8th child so he could take it from Wizardmon and take all the credit.

Wizardmon took out a bottle. "Alright...it's this bottle of green chili sauce. It's great on tacos!"

DemiDevimon was upset. "What are you eating on the job when there's work to be done? You should be looking for the eighth DigiDestined child like the others!"

Wizardmon continued his plan, seeing it was working. "Please don't tell Lord Myotismon. Why don't you get rid of this for me?"

[DEMIDEVIMON grabbed it and flew away]

DemiDevimon was annoyed. "Boy, you know what I hope? I hope the all-night drive-through is still open!

Wizardmon smirked. His plan had worked. He looked at the device. "There's no way I'm handing this over to DemiDevimon. That means it would end up in Myotismon's hands, and we can't let that happen. I have the digivice. Now, to reveal the truth to Gatomon and unite her with the 8th child.

[Back at the Kamiya apartment]

Tai, Ash, Pikachu, and Kari are watching TV while eating some watermelon. Agumon occasionally grabbed a watermelon slice and ducked it under the table. Falcomon was meditating on the roof, waiting for Wizardmon to show himself. "Both horses were reported to be in stable condition. And now, back to our top story. More strange monsters have been sighted in and around the Tokyo area. In the same community, more and more cases of young girls being struck down by what doctors call 'Sudden Anaemia.' Investigators say these incidents may be related. And now, on to the weather," the evening news anchor stated. Tai then shut off the TV.

"Sudden Anaemia," Tai asked, confused.

[the phone rings]

Tai rushed to the phone, knowing it was probably Matt as he was the only team member he had seen since the group split up. "I'll get it! Y'hello?"

Matt responded, "Tai?"

Tai signaled for Ash, Pikachu, and Agumon to follow him as he took the phone into his and Kari's room. "Oh, hey, Matt! Did you see that report on TV?"

"I didn't have to, 'cause I was there! We just got back from downtown," the DigiDestined of Friendship answered.

Tai had to, even though he knew the answer. "So that thing about the monsters was..."

Matt confirmed Tai's suspicions. "Right, it was Myotismon! And man, was he on the warpath! He even killed two of his flunkies!"

Tai and Agumon gasped. "WHAT? He killed his minions?" Tai had to make sure he heard Matt correctly. Ash and Pikachu knew Myotismon was more dangerous than Noah and Gozaburo Kaiba.

"It seems like he's very paranoid about something, and it's cause he's been asking the two he killed what their loyalty is to him before he offed them. Tai, I don't know how much time we've got left. I'm telling you, we've got to hurry up and find that eighth child! Also, we need to find Lapras and Lillie's fiancee," Matt said to his leader.

Tai smirked. "Oh, don't worry. Myotismon won't find Lapras. We found her and Ash." He then frowned, "But your right. We need to find the 8th child ASAP!"

Meanwhile, on the rooftop, Falcomon was meditating when Wizardmon contacted him.

"Falcomon, I have the Digivice," Wizardmon said to Falcomon's eyes widened and broke out of a meditative state.

"So, Then..." Falcomon said, almost breaking out of the mental communication.

"Yes, we are ready to set up the end game."

Falcomon nodded. "Understood. See you soon."

[Back on the rooftop across from the Kamiya apartment...]

Gatomon felt Wizardmon's presence come up from behind her.

"Wizardmon, what is it now? Go away before I use you as my scratching post," she said, annoyed at another interruption.

"Sorry to disturb you again, Gatomon, but..." Wizardmon said as he was waiting for Gatomon to respond. Gatomon could tell something was up.

"But what," she asked.

[WIZARDMON showed her the DIGIVICE]

Gatomon was stunned. "The Digivice! Where did you get it?"

Wizardmon knew now was the time to reveal the truth to Gatomon, but he had to do it carefully. "I found it in a crow's nest near the Iraki woods."

Gatomon wondered if she was wrong about her theory. "Then the eighth DigiDestined must be somewhere near there!"

Wizardmon shook his head. "No, the eighth child is..."

"Tell me right now," Gatomon demanded.

Wizardmon took a deep breath as he knew what he was about to say would either make or break Gatomon mentally. "Well, you see, Gatomon...I wonder if the child's location isn't somewhere inside your heart."

Gatomon needed clarification on this suggestion. "What are you saying?" Wizardmon knew he had to go slow to jog Gatomon's memory.

"I believe that you buried an important part of yourself long ago. I think that somewhere in your heart lies the key to the identity of the eighth DigiDestined child. Try to remember!" Wizardmon said to Gatomon, who was taken aback by this, and then Gatomon had a thoughtful and worried look on her face.

Wizardmon tried to convince her to look deeper. "What's holding you back? Could it be that you're afraid of what you might find? You can get your lost memories back, Gatomon! You can remember your past without fear. End your long nightmare and try to remember!"

Gatomon lost her temper. "Leave me alone! Who sent you? Myotismon?"

Wizardmon shook his head. "Myotismon has nothing to do with this. I fight by your side, not his. I tell you this now because you are my friend."

[FLASHBACK to WIZARDMON walking in the desert]

Wizardmon decided the best way to approach the situation was to tell her what she told them when they first met. "Before I met you, I was alone. Constantly traveling, never stopping to make any friends. Then, one day, I fell from the sky and crashed, and no one stopped to help me. I thought I was a goner until you came."

Gatomon handed Wizardmon a bowl of water. After drinking, he passed out.

[WIZARDMON and GATOMON sit by a fire]

"Next thing I remember was waking up next to a fire I assumed you set up, Wizardmon continued.

Gatomon smirked. "Ah, you're awake."

Wizardmon needed clarification. "Did you save me?"

Gatomon chuckled. "I didn't do that much. I couldn't leave you lying there."

Wizardmon tried to stand. "Well, thanks. I guess I'll be going now." Unfortunately, he fell over, still weak from his earlier experiences.

Gatomon shook her. "Don't be silly. You're not strong enough to go."

Wizardmon held his staff to keep himself upright. "I'm sorry, I don't have anything for you."

Gatomon shook her head. "I don't want anything. You must be very lonely to say that."

Wizardmon was stunned at that comment. "What do you mean?"

Gatomon sighed deeply. "When you're alone for a long time, your heart becomes very hard. It happens to everyone, even me..."

[end FLASHBACK]

"I don't remember any of that." Gatomon retorted to Wizardmon, a little stung that he would say that. Wizardmon chuckled. He wasn't surprised as that happened long ago, so the details probably escaped Gatomon's memory.

"Well, that's how it happened. I thought you saved me because you wanted something in return. I couldn't understand the concept of compassion because loneliness had hardened my heart. But you taught me that all creatures have good inside of them. That's when you told me your secret," Wizardmon told Gatomon, trying to help her remember.

[FLASHBACK to the fire]

Gatomon took a deep breath. "My whole life, I kept waiting and searching but never found her."

Wizardmon was stunned this stranger was revealing something so personal. "Who? Who are you searching for?"

Gatomon shook her head sadly. "I can't remember. It was too long ago. All I know is I'm waiting for someone."

[end FLASHBACK]

"Waiting- Me?" Gatomon said in surprise that Wizardmon would remember that, given that she didn't remember what happened before meeting Myotismon.

Wizardmon nodded, happy that Gatomon was responsive to the conversation and not blowing him off. "That's what you told me."

Gatomon was deeply troubled. "Why can't I remember who I was waiting for? Who could it possibly be?"

Suddenly, they heard a loud meow. They looked over to the Kamiya apartment and saw Kari holding Miko.

"Miko! Where do you think you're going? You can't come out here at this hour. Go back inside. Good kitty. Kari put Miko back inside and shut the door. Then, I walked to the windowsill.

Wizardmon nodded to Falcomon (whom Gatomon had not noticed had been watching them the whole time), telling him it was time to reveal everything. "I think your search is finally over!

Gatomon needed clarification. "HUH?"

[WIZARDMON and GATOMON flew over to KARI]

Kari gasped. "Who are you?"

"Wizardmon," the champion-level Digimon responded.

"How are you able to fly like that," she asked.

Wizardmon chuckled nervously. "Oh, well..."

Gatomon landed in front of Kari, surprising her.

"Oh, it's you. Hello again! You're Agumon's friend, aren't you? How come you ran away last time I saw you?" Kari said to Gatomon,.

Wizardmon handed the Digivice to Gatomon and gently pushed her towards Kari. Falcomon watched, knowing this was the moment of truth.

Kari looked at the device with a curious look on her face. "What's that thing? Can I see it?"

[KARI touches the DIGIVICE, which glows, surprising Kari and Gatomon.

Gatomon knew what this meant, but she wanted confirmation from her friend. "Wizardmon is this girl the eighth DigiDestinened," Gatomon asked.

"Yes." Wizardmon nodded as this took aback Gatomon and now had something on her mind, though she felt she might know the answer.

"Then who is her Digimon," Gatomon asked.

"That, my dear Gatomon, would be you," Falcomon said as he flew beside Wizardmon. Gatomon was surprised by this.

"Wait a minute, your Falcomon, I've heard about your group, but what do you mean that I'm her partner? I don't understand," Gatomon said to the group as she began holding her head as if something was coming back to her. Kari's Digivice glowed from this, helping Gatomon remember what was going on as she remembered that Kari was indeed her partner.

"I'm sorry you had to see that young Kari, but it was necessary. We had our suspicions that she was indeed the Eighth Digimon for a while," Falcomon said to Kari.

Before Kari could say anything, Ash and Tai ran out, overhearing this as Pikachu and Agumon were about to attack Wizardmon and Gatomon. "Wait, guys, remember what Falcomon said? He had a spy in Myotismon's group. I take that they must be him," Ash said to the two as Falcomon nodded, and Kari ran to Gatomon, who had recovered from regaining her memories.

"Before you go questioning me, you two, this is indeed my spy, Wizardmon. We had a few run-ins with each other in the past. He knew Gatomon before he officially became a member of Myotimon's group. He wanted to help her remember who she was waiting for one day, and when the mention of an eighth child was announced, we both had our suspicions on Gatomon for a while," Falcomon said to the group as Wizardmon nodded.

"I agreed to work with Falcomon as well as your group to stop Myotismon, as helping Gatomon out was my way of repaying my debt to Gatomon, who had saved me years ago," Wizardmon said.

"Wizardmon has always been an ally to your group from the start, never swore allegiance nor showed any respect to Myotismon. However, because of this, he's been very suspicious that I may be involved in this conflict, especially after my village was attacked a while ago," Falcomon said to the group.

"So that's why he offed two of his lackeys recently, to weed out the traitors and spies from his group. Did he have a suspicion about Gatomon from the beginning?" Tai asked the group, who shook their heads.

"No, sadly, he didn't, but it might explain why he was always harsh on me," Gatomon said, getting up while rubbing her head.

'As for the two 'lackeys,' Myotismon killed Pumpkinmon and Gotsumon. They only joined as they were curious about the human world," Wizardmon said with sorrow in his voice for the two fun-loving Digimon.

Ash turned to Tai. "You said your group all found your partners all around the same time, so why wasn't Gatomon with them?" Ash asked Tai;

Pikachu snapped his fingers. "Maybe an outside force tried to stop you all from getting together with your Digimon and was only successful in separating Gatomon from the group," Pikachu said.

Tai put his hand on his chin. "You know, given how Devimon talked about us being descended to defeat him, that's a real possibility."

Gatomon's now stood up. "You okay, Gatomon? Did you remember your past?" Falcomon asked the cat Digimon, who nodded.

"Yes, Kari, you are the one I've been waiting for all this time. I sent your Digivice a long time ago, and sadly, you didn't show up. I was by myself, hoping to find you one day, but instead, I found Myotismon, and that made it harder for me to remember," Gatomon said to Kari.

"If I remember correctly, you were supposed to go with us to summer camp, but you couldn't come because you got sick. That would explain a lot," Tai said to his sister, who nodded, then turned to Wizardmon and Falcomon. "So what's going to happen next? I have a feeling that Myotismon will be catching on to what's going on sooner or later," Tai asked.

"Right, now we need to get Kari's crest from Myotismon," Wizardmon said to Tai, who was surprised that Myotismon already had it as Wizardmon and Gatomon pulled out one similar to the group had. "This is a duplicate, but it still works with the Digivice, if only to find it. Myotismon still has it in his possession somewhere," Wizardmon said to the group.

"The Crest of Light, I still question why it's called it, but I guess that's one of the reasons behind him hunting you down, Kari," Gatomon said to the group.

Wizardmon handed Kari's Digivice to Tai. Agumon was about to question this when Ash spoke up. "Tai having the device makes sense. It makes keeping Kari's identity as the 8th child easier to hide." Wizardmon nodded, impressed at Ash's quick uptake of the situation.

"Right, now you guys holding on to that will help draw them off you guys. Hopefully, right now, we'll be taking our leave to get that Crest and bring it to you guys," Wizardmon said to the group, who was worried as Ash was about to step in to help, but Tai stopped him.

"I understand that you want to help, but you really don't know what he's capable of, and right now, we can't be rash with our decisions, either Ash, Champion or not. You don't want to be in over your head," Tai said to Ash, who sighed as Falcomon nodded.

Falcomon was ready to depart to help out, but Ash said he thought it was best if both of them stayed out of it. As if Falcomon went and Ash felt he was in trouble, Ash's aura could cause him to digivolve, or worse, I could go Super Saiyan, and THAT would be the LAST thing I want to happen, Ash thought. "And I'd rather not let what happened to your village not happen to you, Falcomon. You said it yourself, we need to work together, but being rash, like what Tai said, isn't an option. Please, you will get your chance at him, please, buddy," Ash said to Falcomon, who sighed and nodded.

"I'm not going to argue or fight about it. You are my partner, and I'm in no position to fight him either, especially at the moment. I can only digivolve into my Champion form, so I'll stay behind." He turned to Wizardmon. "Please keep in mental contact with me, Wizardmon, and please be careful,"

Tai then spoke up. "I'll be on standby if needed, though what Falcomon said is true. Things might take a turn for the worst in this mission, Ash. I was hoping you could hold on to that device until I return. If Myotismon gets a hold of that, who knows what he'll do, and Falcomon Ash is right, you should stay here. We don't want Myotismon to find out about Ash or his Pokémon. If his aura causes you to Digivolve, that would throw away our potential trump card," Tai said to Ash and his partner, who both nodded.

Wizardmon and Gatomon nodded as they left, and Tai left soon after, knowing that his help would be needed regardless. Ash sighed and sat down. Falcomon, on the other hand, had a bad feeling about this whole thing. Myotismon isn't the type to let things go out of his grip, and the fact that he's started killing his lackeys showed that staying behind was the right call. Please be careful, you guys. Falcomon thought as Ash could tell that he was in deep thought.

Meanwhile with, Gatomon and Wizardmon as they made it to the base where Myotismon was holding up, trying not to arouse suspicions even though they were members of the group well formerly as of right now.

"So far, so good. Hopefully, everyone is still out looking for the 8th child or the Digivice," Gatomon said to Wizardmon, who nodded. "Just the thought that he's been killing others in his army just to make a point still haunts me. What if he?" Gatomon was interrupted by Wizardmon.

"That's a risk I'm willing to take, but let's not let that happen. I swore to help you, Gatomon. I owe you and Falcomon a lot, so let's not talk about it and get the Crest," Wizardmon said as Gatomon had a worried look on her face as the two arrives at Myotismon's main chamber and his coffin. "Figures that is so cliche about him having a coffin for a bed."

"Let's get the Crest and get out of here. The quicker we can get out of here, the better," Gatomon said to Wizardmon, who was opening the coffin to look for the Crest in what looked to be a cap as he pulled it out.

"Well, well, well, to think by leaving that decoy would leave to the actual traitor, let alone two," Myotismon called out as he held the actual copy of the Crest of Light. " Did you honestly think I would leave this unguarded, especially with a suspected traitor in my ranks? I'm disappointed in you two, especially you, Gatomon, you who's been my loyal servant for the longest time."

"I was never a traitor to you as I was never loyal to you in the first place," Wizardmon said to Myotismon.

"Humph, did you really think your little stunt with Demidevimon didn't go unnoticed? I had my suspicions that you might be the actual traitor, now to punish you two," Myotismon said. "I know that there's still a certain avian Digimon who is still out there spying on me as we speak. Tell me, is he the reason you two knew each other," Myotismon said, as Wizardmon didn't want to rat his contact out.

"No, Wizardmon's doing this to help me out," Gatomon said as she stepped forward. Myotismon was surprised. "For years, I've followed your orders and wondered what my purpose in life was, and now I know what my purpose is. It's to destroy you," Gatomon said to Myotismon, holding out her claw.

"Wait! Could it be? Are you the Eighth Digimon? You, of all the Digimon out there. I should've done more work to ensure you were loyal to me years ago." Myotismon growled. Then he smirked as he came up with a nasty idea. "Now, you'll help me find the 8th child."

"I'll never help you hurt them, and we will find a way to end you, Myotismon. After all these years that you've treated me badly, I'm ready to make you my scratching post," Gatomon said to Myotismon, who laughed and used his powers to get the group outside of the place and out in the open.

While this was happening, Tai was running to find where the two had gone as they got a heads start on him only to hear an explosion nearby and ran off in that direction.

I hope we can get to them before things get worse, Tai thought as Agumon Digivolved to Greymon to get to the fight at a faster pace.

Meanwhile, Gatomon and Wizardmon were being tossed around by Myotismon, who was enjoying toying with them as Wizardmon took many hits.

"I'll let you two live if you tell me the name of that spy of yours, and who the Eighth child is. Sooner or later, I will find out. Why protect them?" Myotismon said to the two, who refused to speak. "Fine, have it your way. I'll deal with you first, Wizardmon, given that you were a traitor to me from the very start" Myotismon was about to launch his attack as Wizardmon jumped on him, stopping Myotismon from attacking, only to be tossed to the sea while still injured.

"Wizardmon!" Gatomon said. Myotismon laughed at this as she hissed at him.

"Humph, to think I allowed him to stay on the team only to keep you company. Now for you traitor, you made a mistake revealing that you are the eighth Digimon here, 'cause now you are all by yourself," Myotismon said as Gatomon stood her ground.

Myotismon was about to attack her only to be hit by a Nova Blast from his left when he wasn't looking. Gatomon turned to her rescuer.

"Gatomon, we're here to help you," Tai said as he rode in with Greymon. Gatomon was happy to see him.

"Tai, Myotismon got Wizardmon. He's out there in the ocean somewhere. We need to get out of here now," Gatomon said to Tai, who stood beside her, prepared to fight to protect her.

"Humph figures that one of the Digidestined would show up to help one of their own, well, no matter. I will deal with you as well," Myotismon was about ready to fight.

Greymon Digivolve to... MetalGreymon.

The two ultimate levels were clashing, and even though MetalGreymon tried his hardest, he couldn't land much of a hit after his blindside attack earlier. Myotismon launched his Crimson Lightning to deflect MetalGreymon's Giga Blaster to land into the river. After this, MetalGreymon de-digivolved to Agumon. Tai was horrified. "Oh no, Agumon is weak due to the fight with SkullMeramon."

Tai ran over to his partner. "Nice try, Agumon."

Myotismon hovered over to the defeated duo. "Foolish child, you have lost this battle, and now," Myotismon chuckled as his bats grabbed Gatomon, much to her, Tai, and Agumon's horror. "Gatomon's going to be the perfect bait to lure out the eighth DigiDestined. Now, I don't need the Crest to find that cowardly, puny human. They'll come looking for their partner.

Gatomon screamed for help, but Tai knew he could do nothing. They had lost this battle. Gatomon was captured, Wizardmon was either dead or near death, and Agumon was exhausted.

Everyone was waiting for Tai to return. As he returned, Agumon was injured from the battle. Ash, Pikachu, and Falcomon ran over to them worried.
