Recently I have gone back to posting/updating weekly, unfortunately I kind of neglected the Digimon fandom a bit. So, I felt the itch again and decided to write a quick fluffy one-shot. Enjoy!

Rika Nonaka walked purposefully down the busy street; her mind preoccupied with the task at hand. Her heart raced with anticipation and a hint of nervousness as she approached the Matsuki's family house, the polished wooden door of the side entrance gleaming in the midday sun.

She knew that Takato is an excellent baker, and she hoped that he could help her with a problem that had been troubling her for days. As she rang the doorbell, her palms feel clammy, and she took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves.

When Takato opened the door, a smile instantly brightens his face at the sight of her. "Hey, Rika," he greets her warmly. "What brings you here today?"

Before saying a word, she greeted him with a hug and a gentle kiss. Rika takes a moment to steady her voice before answering. "Takato, I've been struggling with something, and I was hoping that you could help me."

Takato's expression softens with understanding. "Of course, Rika. What's been bothering you?"

Rika took a deep breath, steeling herself for what she's about to say. "I tried to make a cake for my mother's birthday, but it didn't turn out very well. I was hoping that maybe you could help me make a better one?"

Takato's eyes widen in surprise, but then a smile spreads across his face. "I'd be more than happy to help, Rika. How about we go to my family's bakery and work on it together?"

Rika feels a sense of relief wash over her at his words. "That would be amazing, Takato. Thank you so much."

As they walked together towards the bakery, Rika's mind was in a flurry of thoughts and emotions. She felt grateful to have Takato in her life, someone who is not only kind and supportive, but also incredibly skilled at baking. Rika knew that with Takato's help, she'd be able to create a cake that will make her mother's birthday truly special.

As Takato and Rika enter the bakery, the aroma of freshly baked cakes and pastries fills their nostrils. Rika feels a little nervous but excited at the same time, as she has never really baked a cake before. Takato notices her nervousness and gives her a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, Rika. I'll help you make the best cake ever!" he said with an enthusiastic grin and his typical positivity.

Rika smiles back, feeling grateful for Takato's support. They both put on aprons and start gathering the ingredients they need for the cake. Takato guides Rika through the process, teaching her how to measure the ingredients accurately and mix them properly.

As they work, they chat and joke around, enjoying each other's company. Rika feels more relaxed and confident, knowing that Takato is there to help her. Takato helps Rika measure the ingredients and mix the batter, making sure she doesn't over mix it. He shows her how to fold the ingredients gently, so the cake stays fluffy and light.

Rika listens to Takato's instructions and watches him work. She can't help but feel grateful for his guidance and support. She notices how his eyes light up when he talks about baking and how he smiles when he tastes the batter.

They both start to feel more comfortable with each other as they work, joking and laughing as they measure out the flour and sugar. Takato even starts to teach Rika some baking tips he learned from his father.

Rika notices the way Takato looks when he's focused on something, like measuring out the sugar or whisking the eggs. She thinks he looks really cute when he's wearing an apron and a towel around his head to cover his messy hair.

"You look really cute like that, Takato," she says, grinning at him.

Takato looks up, surprised by Rika's comment. "What? Really?" he asks, feeling a little embarrassed.

Rika nods, feeling a warmth spreading through her chest. She likes seeing Takato in a relaxed and comfortable state, and she enjoys teasing him a little.

As they continue to work on the cake, they both become more relaxed and playful with each other. They start throwing flour at each other, laughing as they make a mess in the kitchen.

Takato can't help but feel happy and content when he's with Rika. He enjoys her company, and he loves the way she smiles and laughs when they're together.

As they prepare the frosting, Takato shows Rika how to make it smooth and creamy. He demonstrates how to spread it on the cake evenly and decorate it with the berries. Rika watches him intently, mesmerized by his skilled hands.

As they decorate the cake with frosting and berries, Takato accidentally smears some frosting on his cheek. Rika notices this and can't help but giggle.

"Takato, you have a little something on your cheek," she says, pointing to the frosting.

Takato tries to wipe it off with his hand, but only manages to smear it even more. Rika laughs even harder, teasing him for his clumsiness.

"You're so silly, Takato. Let me help you with that," she says, leaning in to him.

Without warning, Rika playfully licks the frosting off his cheek, savouring the sweet taste of the vanilla frosting. Takato's eyes widen in surprise, but then he starts to laugh too.

"You're too much, Rika," he says, shaking his head in amusement.

Rika just grins at him, feeling playful and carefree. They both continue to work on the cake, enjoying each other's company and the shared experience of baking together. As they finish up, they can't help but feel a sense of accomplishment and pride in their creation.

"You know, I think you missed a spot," he says, pointing to his other cheek.

Rika giggles, enjoying the way Takato responds to her teasing, then leans in to lick it off. She feels his whole body shudder.

Takato wraps his arm around Rika pulling her in for a kiss that leaves them both breathless, the lingering sweet taste of frosting and berries on his tongue only made Rika deepen the kiss. As they separated to regain their breaths, Rika rested her head on Takato's shoulder, both smiling, enjoying the warmth of each other's company.

Finally, the cake is ready, and Takato takes a step back to admire their handiwork. "This looks amazing, Rika. You did a great job," he says, smiling at her.

With the cake now complete and looking beautiful, Takato and Rika can hardly wait to taste it. They both grab a knife, cut a slice each and take a bite, savouring the flavour and texture.

"Mmm, this is wonderful, Rika," Takato says, closing his eyes and enjoying the taste of the fluffy cake and creamy frosting.

"I'm so glad you helped me, Takato. It turned out so much better than when I was making it alone," Rika replies, taking another bite and savouring the sweetness.

They continue to enjoy the cake, smiling and laughing as they share their thoughts on the flavours and texture. The warmth of the bakery, the aroma of freshly baked cake, and the sweetness of the moment all combine to make it a truly special experience for both of them.

As they finish the cake and clean up the bakery, Takato takes Rika's hand and gives it a gentle squeeze. "That was so much fun, Rika. I'm glad we did this together," he says, looking at her with a soft smile.

Rika feels her heart flutter at his touch and his words. She smiles back at him, feeling a sense of warmth and happiness wash over her. "Me too, Takato. Thank you for helping me and for being such a great boyfriend," she replies, squeezing his hand in return.

A week after their afternoon in the bakery, Rika proudly presents the cake she made for her mother's birthday. She had followed all the instructions and tips that Takato had given her, and the result was a beautiful cake with smooth frosting and perfectly placed berries.

Takato stands beside her, feeling proud of Rika and her hard work. He knows how much effort she had put into making this cake, and he's glad that he could be there to support her.

"Wow, Rika, this is amazing!" her mother, Rumiko, exclaims, as she takes a bite of the cake. "You really outdid yourself this time."

Rika smiles at her mother's praise, feeling proud and accomplished. "Thank you, Mom. I had some help from Takato," she says, gesturing towards him.

Rumiko looks at Takato with gratitude and appreciation. "Thank you so much, Takato. You really helped Rika to create something special," she says, giving him a warm smile.

Takato blushes slightly, feeling a sense of pride and happiness at having helped Rika in this way. "It was my pleasure, Rumiko-san. Rika did all the hard work," he replies, feeling grateful to be part of such a special moment.

As they all enjoy the cake together, Takato and Rika steal glances at each other, feeling a sense of closeness and happiness. They know that this experience has brought them even closer together, and they can't wait to see where their relationship takes them next.

I hope you liked that; leave a comment if you want more.
