Hello there,
I decided to come back to the fanfic world. I'm always waiting to hear where the Stablers were during the William Lewis arc and for them to see how deeply Olivia was affected by it. So I'm giving it a go. It's established EO but focused mostly on the kids. Keep in mind that I'm Brazilian and English is not my first language.

You can find me on Twitter (X) as LewVersion
It's my new fan account.

Thanks for giving it a try!

The family dinners began a few months after they finally decided to take a step forward in the relationship.

It only took them 24 years

Noah was quickly incorporated into the Stabler clan as if there had never been a reality in which there were not 6 children. Maybe fate decided it that way, that Noah was such a perfect mix of the two, he could easily be theirs . And Eli, dark where Noah was light, could easily be her son.

How are things…

Olivia was observing that great cacophony of laughter and side conversations, the sound of the news in the background without anyone really paying attention.

"You're thinking too loud" she felt his arms wrap around her waist at the same time she heard his deep voice in her ear.

"Just taking it all in" she said sighing.

"Long day?" He placed a small kiss on her neck and breathed in her scent as if that brought him peace.

"Is there any other type?" She laughed lightly. She turned to him and gave him a long kiss. It was easy to get lost in moments like that, they had to be alert to the fact that the house was full. The physical aspect of the relationship never leaves anything to be desired. In fact, the more often they were intimate, the more they wanted to be together.

But sex also brought another factor that couldn't go unmentioned. The evidence of the horrors experienced during those ten years of absence could not be hidden. So, the first few months of the relationship were far from easy. Now, a year later, all the difficult conversations that had to take place had already happened. At that moment they had already found peace regarding all those matters although the guilt that Elliot felt remained untouched within him.

It happened very quickly, without warning

"Hey, Liv. You're on TV" she barely had time to respond to Eli's excited exclamation when her blood ran cold upon hearing her little boy ask.

" Mommy, who is William Lewis? "

_ BEFORE _

The children, the four original Stablers, who were not kids anymore, accepted the relationship incredibly well, as if they had already expected that development. Perhaps they did, the post-traumatic "I love you" revelation left close to no doubt. Liv was always in their lives, she was there for birthdays and some holidays. She bought gifts, picked them up from school and sent their father home. Always a third parental figure for them. In reality, when their parents were separated, the announcement of the relationship was expected. But then came Eli and all the consequences of that.

Maureen was the oldest, and perhaps the one who had the most difficulty accepting it.

She ended up growing up with her mother, as she was born when she was still 17 years old. Two months after the start of the relationship, Olívia received an unexpected call shortly after arriving home. Elliot was on call and Noah was going to spend the weekend at Connor's house. That was another thing, her boy had lost a little interest in living close to his newly found brother. But sometimes he still wanted to spend time with him.

She had just taken a long relaxing bath, jazz was playing in the background, glass of wine poured on the coffee table waiting for her and the most comfortable clothes she could have stolen from her boyfriend … God, how strange to call him that.

The glass of wine was almost reaching her mouth when the phone rang. She let out a frustrated sigh.

Unknown number.

"Captain Benson" she said, already expecting problems " Olivia? "

The female voice took her by surprise "Mo?" a momentary silence took the line " Yes, sorry to call, I don't know why I called. My father gave me your number in case of emergencies - "

"Did something happen?" The scare already made her get up from the couch and get prepared to get ready to go wherever she needed to go.

" No, no, everyone is fine. I just. ." he hesitated " I'm sorry, I shouldn't have called, you must be busy "

"Mo, you can talk. When I said you could count on me, I really meant it" she encouraged her to talk.

" I think .." she stopped again " you know, the last time this happened, I called my mother, even from far away she gave me that support "

"I see" she didn't know what was coming, so she just waited for the younger woman to continue.

" Sorry, you must think I'm crazy. Here's the thing... I think I'm pregnant and I'm freaking out. When I had Kieran and Seamus my mother was able to support me and now… well, you know " the choked voice went straight to Olivia's heart.

"Oh honey, what can I do?"

" Carl isn't here, could you… "

"I'm going to buy a test and I'm going to your house now" she didn't even hesitate "Send me the pin"

The sound of the doorbell brought Maureen out of her reverie. Even though she subconsciously knew that she could count on Olivia, she was still taken by surprise by Olivia's willingness to help her, after all she wasn't her daughter. But that was what made her different, not being her daughter didn't make her love her less, even if for Maureen the relationship with her father caused some distrust. But the more time she spent with her father's girlfriend, the more certain she became that nothing had happened between them before now.

Standing up slowly, she took a long sigh before opening the door. It was difficult to get used to seeing the Captain in such informal clothes, but there was Olivia Benson in leggings and a sweatshirt at least two sizes too big for her. Probably my father's she thought. Her hair tied back in a quick ponytail and her face clean of makeup, I still couldn't describe her as anything less than beautiful . No wonder my father fell so hard in love that he can no longer even notice when any other woman gives him attention.

She stood there looking at Olivia until the older woman asked, "Can I come in?"

"My God, of course. I'm sorry, Liv. I don't know what's wrong with me" she gave a humorless laugh and let her in. Olivia had two bags in her hand.

"I brought three different brands and a tub of ice cream, I hope you still like chocolate chips" a distant memory came to Maureen's mind, of a younger Olivia with considerably shorter hair sitting next to her on the couch with a tub of ice cream listening to the ramblings of a hormonal teenager irritated with her parents. She came out of the memory to hear Olivia finish her sentence "It's been a while since I had to buy one of these for myself, so I thought it would be better to have a variety so there was no doubt."

"Is that when you found out about Noah?" She asked, interested in deepening the conversation with her likely future stepmother. "What?" With a furrowed brow, Olivia looked genuinely confused.

"The last time you had to buy a pregnancy test was when you were pregnant with Noah?" She specified the question.

"No…Uh.." Olivia opened and closed her mouth a few times "Mo, I thought all you knew already, Noah is adopted, I was never pregnant."

"What? My God, I'm sorry for being so rude, my father can be so dense sometimes, I can't believe he didn't tell me" Maureen, blushing, tried to rectify her mistake.

"Don't worry, I really don't think he meant anything bad. It doesn't make any difference to him, Noah is mine. And also, you only saw him a few times, the subject must not have crossed his mind" she explained calmly.

Eyes wide, Maureen was quick to specify "I didn't mean it he wasn't yours, of course he is, Liv. God, you couldn't be his mother any more if you tried. I just wanted to say that I wish my dad had told me not to make comments like that. You talked about the tests and I assumed…"

"Completely understandable, in fact the last time I used one of these was a few months before I found Noah…"

"Found?"

"Yes, I found him in a drawer during a child pornography case. I swear the moment I picked him up I knew he was meant to be mine." She remembered fondly.

"My God, I don't know how you can do this job and see so many bad things every day…"

"It's not easy, and in many ways, this work has brought me the best things too. Noah saved me from myself, and I don't even know where I would be without him."

"When did you say you found him?"

"2013" she replied. Maureen felt her stomach drop and the her memory again took her to another time, sitting on another couch watching the national news while living in California.

Olivia could see the blue color of Maureen's eyes darken and recognition dawn as she connected the dates. It wasn't a conversation she had thought to have, although she had always wondered about the four older Stablers during the period she had dealt with Lewis.

"Liv…"

"It's okay, it's been a long time"

"It's just not okay" she exclaimed "You were always there when we needed you, and we just weren't there when you needed us the most"

"No, it wasn't your responsibility" Olivia said.

"We knew better" she took a deep breath "I called Katie, she said she had spoken to mom, and she said we weren't supposed to come visit. That the fight you and Dad had was hard and that it wouldn't do you any good to see us... she said that he knew and that he was dealing with everything very badly" she finished.

"Maureen," she looked up when she heard her full name and heard the regret in Olivia's voice. "Your father and I didn't fight, in fact the last time I saw him, I was sure I would see him the next day."
