4/4 Part- The Ultimate Battle Between The Forces Of Good & Evil
Chapter 40- The Final Battle!
For the subsequent weeks remaining, the Resistance tirelessly planned out their full-on assault on Chronos. Knuckles and Sally underwent their own type of training to either acquire or learn any new skills and techniques from their clans. The day for the final battle with Chronos soon arrived, as Infinite sits on his throne, peeking at the windows of his fortress being a colossal fortification on Earth that serves as Chronos's supreme military headquarters.
Infinite senses three familiar energy signatures within reach and warps himself at ground level to see Super Knuckles wearing a ornate blue-and-gold outfit that is somewhat Egyptian in appearance, resembling that of Egyptian pharaohs and gods, Burning Blaze with a ponytail and wearing the Sol Dimension's royal family warrior gear and Sally sporting with some up-to-date Resistance's battle garments wielding the Sword of Acorns.
Infinite places his hands behind his back, lecturing the three fighters. "Failure after failure, you still persist. For that, you have gained my respect, but it would be wise to surrender now."
Knuckles grip his fist tightly, glunching at Infinite. "As if we do that! The world you want to create has its flaws, stripping people's freedom and enforcing your own twisted ideals as the right one and killing those who resist. Is that what you want, your brand new world built on blood."
Infinite soundlessly listens, before refuting back at Knuckles. "...So be it then, in any war, any battle. Peace is not created by foolish treaty but by means of an end, the unavoidable nature of us all…violence."
Knuckles, Blaze and Sally cooperatively attack Infinite, first with Sally going for a downward slash, which Infinite parry, Knuckles and Blaze with their respective Chaos Energy and flame imbued fists, were about to shorten the distance between them and Infinite and thrown themselves in a heated fistfight with him. Infinite goes on to fend off and repel the trio synchronised blows, deflecting Sally's backflip kick without trouble. Sally braces herself for impact, as Infinite delivers a extreme right hook to Sally's ribs. Infinite fires out a precise concentrated beam and changes its direction to home on his opponents. Blaze ejects flames from her to burst into a sensationally swift cut-in, speeding past the beam and brings into play said speed to hound on Infinite as a way to force him make errors on his plays and to set up chances for Knuckles and Sally to deal damage on him.
Blaze displays flaming claws to strike Infinite, steering with freakish levels of nimbleness and flair to her claw swipes. She even shoots streams of fire from her claws and conjures them to act almost like a whip, Infinite skilfully dodges from the streams of fire. Sally pops up behind Blaze, implementing her technique on Blaze and revved-up the incandescent cat. Infinite blocks Blaze's enhanced highly concentrated beam of flames with his energy force field with Knuckles coming from behind to attack him. Infinite redirects the beam at Knuckles, as he takes the full force of Blaze's attack. Infinite speed-blitzes the two and viciously kicks Sally several distance away, with a single augmented kick.
With Knuckles and Sally knocked out, Infinite beat down Blaze with his fists. With Blaze helpless to resist, Infinite followed with a close-up blast to her abdomen, sending her flying. Try as she might, Infinite indisputably deflect Blaze's pyrokinesis attacks.
Out of the blue, Infinite is briefly staggered by Sally. Blaze senses something different radiating from Sally, and smirks understanding to some extent that this is what she had learnt during the two weeks period.
While Infinite is somewhat taken aback by the unexpected strike, Sally speedily slashes Infinite with her physical prowess considerably amplified by pushing her technique above its natural limits, the very instant she attacks. Infinite skids backwards from this, as Knuckles harnesses deep within himself an abnormal green-coloured Chaos Energy arrow designated as the Thunder Arrow technique, which functioned very similarly to Shadow's Chaos Spear with one glaring difference. Knuckles tosses the arrow at Infinite, which at the moment immobilises the jackal. Fighting through her injuries, Sally throws a mixture of spinning kicks, punches and slashes that progressively gets faster and stronger than the previous one at a rapid pace.
Infinite secretly uses the Phantom Ruby to elevate his overall durability, to alleviate any type of damage inflicted on him by Sally's build-up assault. He at last breaks free from the effects of Knuckles's Thunder Arrow, just as Sally's body reaches its limit and she vomits blood.
Infinite rubs off speck of smudge from his cheek, recognising the strength of his fated opponents. "As expected for the two of you, I admit you surprised me, but don't tell me that is all you have of your disposal."
Sally raises from the ground, wiping the blood from her lips. "We are putting everything on the line to win, even our lives. That is pushing us to break through our limitations!"
Knuckles with his right hand on Sally's back, the echidna jumps over Sally and throws his Thunder Arrow at point-blank range, right in front of Infinite's face. Infinite resist the approaching arrow with a clever manoeuvre at the last minute, creating a virtual shield around his face. Sally straightens her posture and asserts a sharp fighting pose, mocking Infinite. "HA! That manoeuvre was out of desperation, right?"
She hits him across the face with a flying kick, followed up with Knuckles's endless barrage of punches. Infinite then showcases snippets of his true power, turning the tables on them. Infinite slices Knuckles and Sally's arm and leg, causing them great pain and slowing them down considerably. Infinite ends with a lesser variant of his "Phantom Destruction" to defeat them at once.
Knuckles, with one functionable arm and a wounded body, but an unshakable will to win, stood alone against Infinite. The all-powerful jackal weaves a hand signal for the remaining members of his Generals, Zeena, the entirety of his robotic army and his foot soldiers.
From the darkened skies, numerous G.U.N aircrafts appeared and Tails's Blue Typhoon.
Infinite realises that Knuckles and his group act was a diversion. "To think you all would devise a well-thought plan with the time you were given. In spite of this, you all will lose in the end"
The two sides held a short standoff, before Knuckles gave the call sign. "Resistance…CHARGE!"
The two sides collided, commencing a violent battle between the Resistance and Infinite's army.
