Chapter 41- The Final Battle, Part 1

The forces of the respective armies collided with each other on the ground and in the air, Dr. Eggman's Eggrobo gets tackled by Chronos's mechanised flying centipede. As he holds the creature in place, more looms over Dr. Eggman and quickly overwhelms him. Metal Sonic and Sage come to his aid firing energy-based attacks as a wide-field dispersal, Metal Sonic uses his Metal Overload avatar.

Amy hovered Knuckles, Sally and Blaze with her heart-shaped platforms directly to Tails, who swoops in with his hologram clone to escort them to Cosmo, so she can heal them. Metal Sonic gets ambushed by Kori, who is also in her own avatar state. Her attempts to kill Metal Sonic are soon thwarted by Sage stepping in holding off her colossus glacial-like wave of ice with a large-scale energy field.

Bunnie fought off a pair of Chronos's subaltern combatants, till she sling backwards by Zeena's whip. Amy speeds past many foot soldiers and reaches Bunnie's vicinity in no time. She releases a thoroughly controlled volley kick that pushes the Zeti away from Bunnie.

Espio assisted a few Resistance's troops, but was then overtaken by Kazoku, Shiki and Kaze. It doesn't take long before help arrives in the form of Silver, Mighty and Surge, with them having the dominant position.

Kaze applies his wind manipulation powers on himself to move at instantaneous speeds, rapidly striking Mighty at various angles. Ending his flurry of strikes with a forceful gut punch which winded Mighty, though he still gets right back up. Kaze then lands a solid kick to Mighty's stomach, although he is able to fight through the pain and grapples Kaze's leg. Mighty holds him in place, for Surge to hit him with her electrical palm strike. In panic, Kaze lets out an eruption of wind to blow the two away from him midair. Mighty made it to the ground first, grabbing the airborne Surge and spinning the both of them until he got enough momentum and slingshots Surge to Kaze's direction, who is flooded with so much electricity around her body. Kaze summons up a wind shield to defend himself, proved to be ineffective against Surge's thunderous double kick that broke through Kaze's shield and inflicted significant damage on him.

Close by the three fighters, the table has been set for their third and final battle, for Espio and Kazoku. Kazoku promptly gets into his firing position for his "Interwave" launching his focused beam. From the smoke, Espio employs one of his clones utilising the Taiyo style of fighting with him rushing at Kazoku from behind.

Espio evaded the beam by using Ninja Leaf Swirl manoeuvre at the very last second to create a tornado to blow opponents away while he disappears, with his clone's assail being a diversion. "With him preoccupied with my clone, I can get closer to Kazoku and overpower him in close-quarters combat."

Kazoku replicates what Infinite did and changes the direction of his beam, while firing it operating like a moveable laser beam that hits the clone and is closing in on Espio. "A fine manoeuvre! But you would need more than that to beat me, Espio."

Espio surprisingly executed a robust backflip kick to redirect the beam, with the iron soles on his shoes. With his big move diverted, Kazoku is left open to Espio's reprisal. Espio hits Kazoku in the gut, as his still surviving clone follows up with a punch to the head. They at first have the upper hand with their enfilade of coexisting attacks, the clone gets hit by a high-speed punch that kills it in an instant. Despite losing his clone and with Kazoku going all-out, Espio stands strong divulging in Mizu style and performs an uninterrupted graceful attack with his kunai that rises in terms of mightiness and rapidity as time passes with the non-stop use of mustering propulsion.

Silver powers up to his Super Form together with his Psychic Force state, while in contrast, Shiki covers up his body with stiff earth in the image of a knight and infuses it with his bladed weapon. Both dashed at each other, as Silver starts off firing flurries of large, bright psychic energy blasts. Shiki goes through them, unmarred on account of his armour plate nigh-invulnerability. Silver forms his psychic energy into a piercing blade around his hand, entering in a serious hit struggle with Shiki. Shiki gains supremacy and pummels Silver into the ground, stuck to defend himself with an energy shield. Silver then charges the energy all over his body, for it to explode as a huge energy sphere to push back Shiki away from him. Silver enact a few backflips, before throwing his energy blade at Shiki and at the very last second changes its shape into his Psycho Knife that narrowly misses Shiki. Using Chaos Control, Silver had his previous act be a distraction for him to land his Psycho Blaster in front of Shiki.

With Amy and Bunnie, Amy seethes with rage thinking back to when Zeena defeated her both in body and mind. "Time for payback, Zeena!"

The Zeti is equally irritated at Amy, for interfering with her hunt. "You again! Haven't you learnt your lesson from our foregoing bout last time…You Resistance maggots don't stand a chance against us, Zetis!"

Amy smugly smiles, even laughing as she insults Zeena. "Haha! Last time I checked you're the last one remaining from the Deadly Six. So much for you lot being all-powerful and whatnot…quite disappointing if i say so myself…"

Zeena's entire facial expression changed into a serious one, appearing behind Amy, attempting to use one of her weapons to cut her head. Amy activates her True Heart Awakened State and elegantly dodges delivering a blow to his head, leaving a slight red mark on her cheek. Zeena directs her eyes on Amy, beaming with the fury of hate within her and creates a handful of spiked-barbed chains to entangle her opponent.

Zeena notes on Amy's improved reaction speed, as she agilely bypasses them. "Huh? So the little rodent got a bit better…still she is no match for me."

At G.U.N's main aircraft, the Commander communicates with Tails on the current status of their main trio designated at combating Infinite. "Miles Prower…is Cosmo done healing Knuckles, Sally and Blaze?"

Tails taps on the button on the communication device on his hand to turn it on, answered back to the Commander. "She's getting there, Cosmo is still getting used to her healing abilities…so it might be a while before they are back to full health..."

The G.U.N Commander sighs, contemplating what they should do in the meantime. "Tsk!...without those three, we are literally sitting ducks…with any hope of winning this war being nothing more than a fantasy."

It has begun with the Resistance fending off Chronos's forces, while Cosmo heals up Knuckles, Sally and Blaze to full strength. Find out in the next chapter, what happens next.
