Chapter Fifteen

Three hours later…

The Craftsman…

Don sighed as he sat into his chair, just glad that all three of them got out of their situation alive, though they still had some unfinished business to attend to.

"First things first, I am glad that you are all okay and that the people behind this will be going away for a long time." Kim started as she surveyed the room before she continued on, trying not to smile as the twins run up to jump on Don's lap:

"However, we do need to talk about the fact you two owed a lot of money to some scary people, that can't be overlooked." She said as she looked at her guilty looking parents.

"Can I start by saying that we never meant for this to happen and that we will do anything to make this right?" Mark asked, knowing it wasn't going to be that simple.

"I know that you didn't mean for all of this to have happened but you had to have known there were big risks of getting involved with these loan sharks." Kim said

"Not this big of a risk but I guess we did." Ellen answered with Mark just silently nodding.

"Okay, I understand but you do know that you may have to testify against these people, right?" Kim asked

Her parents just nodded again, not sure what they could even say but were just happy to be alive after the day they just had.

That doesn't mean they go completely unscathed from the consequences from either this or from a lifetime of mistakes.

"What do you want us to do?" Mark asked, which led Kim to asking for some names and having them talk with a couple of the present agents about said names.

This made Don smile, as he knew that at least they were finally getting somewhere and maybe give Kim some closure.

With her parents and the past.
