Next thing Tammo knew, Blue Diamond was picking him up and hugging him. "Oh, Pink! I can't believe it! You've been here all along! Oh!"

Just then, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Lapis came bursting out of the mountain, along with Joshy and Pasque. They had come to save Tammo from the Diamonds, but he was no longer in any danger.

"What's going on?" Lapis said. "Why is Blue hugging Tammo?"

Garnet clinched her fists. "I can't just hand Tammo over to Blue Diamond, she's a shatterer!"

Joshy placed a paw on her shoulder. "Hang on a tick. I don't think she's goin' to hurt him. He must have convinced them of his true identity."

"How could you do this to us, Pink?" Yellow Diamond said. "Why did you let us think you were shattered? Why the strange disguise? Why are you doing a voice? Why didn't you say something at the trial?"

Blue had set Tammo back down on the ground now. "My mom kept it secret from everyone," he said.

Pearl cleared her throat. "Ahem!"

Tammo corrected himself. "Almost everyone."

"What are you talking about, Pink?" Yellow Diamond was confused.

Tammo attempted to explain. "Well, apparently Mom… Oh, geez, you don't know what a mom is… Okay! Pink Diamond took the form of Rose Quartz permanently after faking her shattering. Then Rose Quartz gave up that form to create a new life with my dad: me. Rose passed her gemstone and some of her powers onto me, but… that's all. I don't have any of Pink or Rose's memories. I'm sorry."

Tammo showed Yellow Diamond his gem. She stared at it intently. "Hmm. I'm sure your memories are in there somewhere, Pink."

"Um, actually, if y'don't mind me askin', could you not call me Pink? I go by the name Tammo, don't ya know."

"One thing I don't understand," said Blue. "How did you survive? At the end of the war, we blasted this planet with a death ray and obliterated every Gem on its surface."

Tammo shifted nervously from foot to foot. "Well, here's the thing. They weren't exactly obliterated." He reached into his gemstone and pulled out a bubble. It had one of the Centipeetles inside. He dropped the bubble on the ground and it broke open, revealing the mutated Gem to the Diamonds.

Yellow Diamond was horrified. "What is that thing?"

"She's a Gem," said Tammo. "Or at least she was. Your death ray didn't kill the rebels. It just turned them all into monsters."

The Centipeetle was flailing around and roaring. "Do they all look like that?" Blue Diamond asked.

Tammo shook his head. "No, corrupted Gems come in many forms. I've tried to heal them, but it doesn't work. I can only sort of half heal them. When I put my paw on their gemstones, they go back to normal for a sec, but they revert to mutant form once I stop touching them."

"That's terrible," said Blue. "We had no idea."

"But maybe you can help," Tammo said excitedly.

"How?" asked Yellow.

"Well, I've been thinking about this. Maybe if all three of us touched a mutant's gemstone, our combined powers would be able to heal her for good an' all, wot!"

"Hmm," said Yellow. "Worth a try."

All three of them reached out and touched the Centipeetle.

The Centipeetle changed into a green Gem. Her gemstone was located in the middle of her face and served as an eyeball. She was crying and saying, "No! Please, no! No! No!" over and over.

Tammo tried to comfort her. "Hey, it's okay. We're your friends."

She stopped panicking and saluted the Diamonds. "Nephrite! Facet-413 Cachobon-12!"

"What's that mean?" Pasque whispered to Pearl.

"She's stating her name and serial number," Pearl replied.

"I'm sorry for my failure to heed my Hessonite's evacuation orders," Nephrite said. "My team and I tried our best to make it out before the attack!"

Blue and Yellow flinched and let go of Nephrite, and she turned back into a Centipeetle. Tammo was crestfallen. "It didn't work."

"Ugh, Pink," said Yellow. "How many perfectly adequate Gems did you make us ruin?"

"Shh, Yellow!" said Blue. "Pink's been punished enough. She's been trapped here in this awful planet with these… creatures."

"The three of us can only do so much," said Yellow. "But maybe if White was here too…"

"Oh, no!" cried Blue. "We can't let her see this!"

"White Diamond, eh?" said Tammo. "I've never met her."

"You don't want to meet her," Garnet said quickly.

Pearl said, "White Diamond isn't like us. She isn't even like them." She gestured at the other two Diamonds. "You have no idea what she's capable of!"

"Well, it looks like we'll have to go see her, if we want to heal these Gems," Tammo said. "I can't do it alone, and even three of us aren't enough. But maybe if all four of us touched a corrupted Gem together, it would work."

"White Diamond is the oldest and most powerful Gem on Homeworld," said Blue. "She created all of us."

"Then who created her?" Amethyst asked, but no one answered her.

"She hasn't left the planet in eons," Blue continued. "Most of the time, she doesn't even leave her tower."

"Well, we're going to make her come out of there," Tammo insisted stubbornly. "It's the only hope we have, wot!"

"I suppose we can try and take you to her," said Yellow Diamond. "But she might not be willing to talk to you at all."

Tammo was resolute. "I have to try."

"All right," said Blue. "We'll take you to Homeworld, and you can try to get an audience with her."

"Can my friends come?" Tammo asked.

Yellow wrinkled her nose. "I suppose."

"I say, this will be jolly excitin'!" Joshy cheered. "Before, I only got to see Homeworld from the inside of a spaceship!"

Yellow held up a hand to silence him. "Oh, no. We're not taking you. I only meant the other Gems. I'm not bringing any dirty, noisy, Earthlings to my planet!"

"We aren't dirty and noisy!" Pasque protested.

Joshy looked down at his paws. "I had a bath only this mornin'!"

Tammo put his arms around Pasque and Joshy. "Please?" he begged. "I couldn't bear to leave those two behind. Pasque is my wife, and Joshy's been my friend through thick an' thin. I love him like a brother!"

Yellow Diamond considered. "All right," she finally said. "You can pick one of your pets to take with you, but the other has to stay behind."

Tammo looked back and forth between Joshy and Pasque for a few moments. "I guess I have to choose Pasque," he said. "Sorry, Joshy."

"That's all right, old chap," the wizard chuckled. "No hard feelin's, wot!"

Tammo looked at the Crystal Gems. "What about you chaps? You're all coming with me, right?"

Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl all nodded, but Lapis just looked down at the ground. "I don't think I will," she said. "I'm still scared of those Diamonds. I don't think you should go, either, Tammo. They might do something terrible to you."

"And I doubt the other Gems will want to come," Pearl added. "They're all still so terrified of the Diamonds that they wouldn't even come outside with us just now."

"All right," said Tammo. He turned his attention back to the Diamonds. "Let me just go inside and pack a few things, and say goodbye to my other friends, and then I'll be ready."
