Chapter 20 - A Future To Fight For

"Thank you all for coming today. As I implied in the invitation to this meeting, the fate of two potential timelines, ours included, is at stake," I said. "This sounds dramatic but there are a few different things that could result in the full erasure of our universe. I am not being dramatic or over-exaggerating, if things don't go a certain way, then we could be risking everything."

"Alright, the weight is added no need to keep laying it on us," Bulma said with a scoff.

I held my comment back and Carina Florez got us back on track, "Do we have an idea when this begins, Director?"

"Not specifically, more of an event order that starts when Future Trunks arrives sometime in the next month or so. This is the Trunks from the future divergent timeline, or Timeline 2. For those of you who don't know, he saved us all from the Red Ribbon Army and Dr. Gero's manipulations all those years ago. I won't go into that story today, instead, let's go over what I know of the version of events my Sight has given me. Then we can go over my ideas and other potential solutions," I said.

I spent the next half hour going over the original timeline of events from the Future Trunks Arc for Carina, Bulma, Gohan, and Piccolo. I wanted Tien to join but without at least one of them present it would be very difficult to manage all the trainers and trainees.

After I finished, Bulma spoke up, "You mean to tell me this Mad-Kai Zamasu traded bodies with your dad in a future version of this timeline, then went over to Future Trunks timeline, made friends with THAT Zamasu, and now they are on a Tear through reality"

"Yeah, my dad was working on a farm with Goten and Chichi when he used the Super Dragon Balls to change bodies. They were Zamasu's first victims on Earth," I said, making eye contact with everyone. "Before he met up with the other Zamasu, he wiped out Earth's inhabitants. He goes on to try and destroy all mortal beings."

That left the room silent. I could feel Gohan's heartbreak at the thought of losing our little brother. I put my hand on his shoulder as he was sitting next to me. A small sign of comfort.

"I am sorry to say that it get's worse. Bulma..." I said as I gulped. She narrowed her eyes at me as if to ward away whatever I was about to say to her.

"When Trunks arrives, he will have just lost you and his girlfriend, Mai. All this happens in the minutes before he leaves to come here. He's spent the last year in a war with Zamasu in Goku's body," I said.

Gohan's horror turned to rage.

"I know... we will do what we must to stop him. Piccolo, remember when we made those Ki-absorbing bottles for the Evil Containment Wave?"

"That's the plan then?" Piccolo asked.

I nodded, "He will appear above Capsule Corp sometime after Trunks does. We relentlessly attack him until his vision is disrupted and his mind is confused, then someone uses the Containment Wave, preferably you, Piccolo. We then activate the seal with Divine Ki from all of us if possible. This should have an increased potency to keep him sealed with the metals the bottles are made from. The next problem comes with the Time Ring he wears."

Not even Piccolo recognized the name so I gave a quick description, knowing there is probably a lot more to the rings than what I know, "Time Rings are only allowed to be used by Supreme Kai's which Zamasu is after he killed the Supreme Kai in Universe 10. The rings are only designed to take one into the future, they only travel backward to return to the original point that they left. Traveling backward is extremely illegal for anyone because we can create many different timelines with the simplest of actions, or even splinter our own."

"For Example: This is not the original timeline, however it is currently the main one," I said. That raised some eyebrows.

"How does that work?" Gohan asked, his curiosity burning like a fire through our bond.

"Hmmm, I don't need to go fully into it and my knowledge is all based on what 'a' timeline would look like if I wasn't there. It gets confusing when comparing timelines, but to simplify it, we are Timeline 1, Future Alternate Timeline is Timeline 2, and the one that Cell came from is Timeline 3," I said. "If we fail here, Future Trunks will create another Timeline known as Timeline 4 in which things go much better than 2. This would be a failure, however."

I paused at that, letting it sink in.

Gohan put something together, "He would create another Timeline...because his timeline is gone?"

I nodded.

"It is entirely possible that Future Trunks will not show up here at all, though it really scares me if he doesn't. I think the only chance to save his timeline requires him to come here. In my future sight...his timeline gets erased."

"By Zamasu?" Bulma asked.

"Actually, no."

More surprised expressions at my words.

I sighed a bit, needing more weight behind my words, "I know that this is confusing, I have spent months trying to figure this out, and...it's frustrating, to say the least. Especially if my fears of us actually being in a different timeline than the main one are true. I told you that my vision comes from a Timeline in which I was never wished into existence by Goten and Trunks."

Gohan frowned at my words but they needed to be said.

"I can describe to you how many changes I have made...how much I have changed things just by being here. It is a miracle things have turned out so well."

Gohan spoke up, "Yeah, she said I was a teacher originally, instead of one of the Monarchs. I do admit to love learning things, but I can't imagine doing anything besides leading, now."

I smiled at him, sending him feelings of love and gratitude.

"I can't imagine that Gohan...you as a teacher or something, next you would tell me that you don't even train anymore," Piccolo said with a smirk.

Gohan and I exchanged amused glances.

"What?! No training...I think we have some work to do today..." Piccolo said threateningly.

Gohan swallowed nervously while rubbing the back of his head.

The room processed everything I said for a while, and Carina broke the silence.

"So the plan for when this Zamasu comes here?" She said leadingly.

I nodded, "Sorry, so much to go over, as I was saying, we use the Evil Containment Wave and if the portal that the Time Ring created doesn't close, then we can just send the whole container through the portal. We do need to beat him up a bit reducing his Ki by swarming him and maybe we use Tien's Time-Skip to keep him from reacting while Piccolo is fully powered up for the containment. We don't exchange words, we don't give the...we don't give him time to speak."

"That bad huh?" Bulma said.

"Bulma, he kills you in the future not 10 minutes before Trunks arrives here. Does it with his bare hands too. For all intents and purposes, it is still my dad's body. I don't wish that fate on you."

She gulped as I stared at my memory of the image. It was disturbingly crisp as Bulma disintegrated from the energy Zamasu flashed through her. At that point in the arc, Zamasu was pictured as just a humanoid behind smoke with burning red eyes. The surprise of him being in my father's body wasn't shown yet.

"Anyways...Bulma, you will find a manual you wrote in the future for how to create more fuel... actually...it's your notes on how to time travel. The problem is that, without the help of a God of Time of some sort, you will always have a possibility of creating an alternate timeline. I don't believe it happens during these events but anything can happen."

"Then what?" Piccolo moved past the talk of temporal manipulation.

"Yeah, are the Dragon Balls a possibility?" Bulma asked.

"We either ask about the Namekians of that universe or bring one from ours that will agree to become a Guardian of Earth, like Dende. They must be Namekian to create the orbs and they must be willing to go through whatever process that entails. There is currently no Guardian and no Kai's there."

"And the Super Dragon Balls?"

"Zamasu used the Dragon Balls to destroy the Dragon Balls," I hid my amusement at that statement, I couldn't help myself though. The Avengers didn't exist in this universe, but it's a fitting statement.

"Do you know if we can bring a set of Dragon Balls there?" Piccolo asked.

"I have no idea, I do think the Dragons exist outside of the timelines in a different reality, but I can't prove it without wishing for the information. It always seems like they are annoyed by being subjected to the flow of time when they are in person...it's a limited theory but I don't know if the orbs will work in another Universe, not to mention the possibility of losing them when they scatter."

"And you think you can find a Namekian willing to do this? To go to another Timeline?" Bulma asked.

I shrugged, "The Namekians here aren't from our universe, I feel like they shouldn't have too many troubles with the idea of it."

"So, you want to go to New Namek then?" Piccolo asked.

I shrugged, "Yes."

"Right... we secure a source for dragon balls, make the wish to reset everything before Zamasu and the Timeline over there will be fixed?" Gohan asked.

"No, there is more to do there. But before we go, we turn Future Trunks into a deity with access to Divine Ki. Vegeta will want to spar with him as well I'm sure."

Bulma laughed, "Of course he will..." I could tell her heart wasn't in it though.

I looked at Bulma, "Trunks really needs to see you and Gohan, maybe even spend some time together with all of us as a group of friends and family," I said.

Gohan looked up, surprised, "Me?"

"Yes," I nodded. "You trained him before the Androids...well, you mean much to him as his teacher. If he is able to see you with a smile on your face, and your family around you...he will know the sacrifices he has made are worth it. That the hardships he has gone through are worth it. Without him, we would not have had such a peaceful timeline, many of us would have never existed."

I couldn't help but bring the room down a bit with my words. But they needed to be said all the same.

"We teach Future Trunks the Evil Containment Wave, then go to the future with him. Wait for Future Zamasu to come and contain him as well."

"Why bother with containment? Why not destroy him?" Piccolo asked.

Gohan didn't like it but he didn't say anything.

"I am unsure I have the conviction to actually Destroy him. Regardless, the other version of him has an immortal body courtesy of a wish to the Super Dragon Balls, allowing him to ignore any damage he takes. If we can't destroy him then we must contain him or burn his spirit out," I said.

"Conviction you say?" Bulmas asked. "You really are thinking about taking up Whis's offer to become a Destroyer?"

I shrugged, "That's a century away at the earliest, anything can happen by then."

Gohan spoke, "Chiyo, we are going to talk about that at some point..."

He had his own conviction so I didn't try to argue, "Alright."

Gohan just raised a suspicious eyebrow but didn't press my dismissal.

"One of the things we must never let happen is the combination of the two Zamasu's through Potara transformation. That is almost an instant failure condition with consequences severe enough to wipe the timeline. The good thing about it though, is that he is a sociopathic lunatic. His own ego is his biggest weakness," I continued.

The meeting continued and we ironed out a few different plans depending on different circumstances. Each involved enough fighting to allow Zamasu's aura to be released while Beerus and Whis can witness it. They all ended up forcing him back through the portal, seeing if Beerus would destroy him, or just leave him sealed somewhere in the void.

Zamasu was one of the most terrifying enemies we will ever face. None have been so sure or as successful in their destruction as Zamasu. Including many incarnations of Frieza.

Zamasu wiped out gods and mortals alike, viewing mortal life as a scourge that needed to be excised.

We have to be careful no matter what happens. I was not going to lose a timeline.

Of all the days, I knew it would be on this one...the one where all of us had to be dressed up for a massive conference on the achievements of our natural conservation policies. It just HAD to be today.

I didn't even bother getting ready at home, instead just teleported to the Palace with my mom and Goten, dozens of maids ready to put me through the process alongside Videl and Erasa. I hadn't talked much with the bubbly blonde girl, but she was apparently hired under Videl as an assistant or something.

A beautiful dress of silver and blue awaited me, leaving my left shoulder open. My hair was pinned and styled so that it matched the angle of my dress as it hung from my right shoulder. The sleek lines of the dress flowed down around my left hip and thighs. It ended below my calves in a sleek cut. The seem left my right leg partially exposed to just below my hip, allowing my long tail to wrap around my right leg.

It was comfortable and left my left arm open while the right sleeve wrapped around my arm to connect with a ring on the middle finger of my right hand. The right side of my head had my hair pinned up and flowing to the left side, something that the maids probably took too much pleasure in doing, but my long locks were wild and only barely tamed. I had on light makeup as my skin was extremely clear, benefits of Divine Ki no doubt.

I powered up enough and the irises in my eyes turned silver but I made sure my tail and hair stayed black. They laughed at me for powering up to just make my eyes match my dress, but I had an image to maintain.

Videl had a blue dress on with matching jewelry and shoes. Her hair had lengthened recently and now went down to her mid-back. Erasa had a less complicated dress on, but still effortlessly looked good.

Videl laughed at me as I went over my notes in frustration, but I made eye contact with her and scowled.

"You are making the speeches Chiyo, I am just here to support my man!" Videl said, at ease with the fact that little Pan was safe in the care of her father.

I scoffed, "Gohan has to speak as well, and first! I will survive."

"You look amazing Chiyo, I love the contacts! We need to do your hair more often!" Erasa said.

I smiled, letting her think my eye color was a set of contacts, "I admit that I do like the look of this dress, though... it will be weird if I have to fight."

"Why would you have to fight? This is a celebration for the stuff you have accomplished outside of the Z Force," Videl said.

We made it to the ballroom eventually, and crowds of reporters and people were taking photos like mad. It is extremely overwhelming to have people screaming your name just to get your attention for a picture. I had a fake smile plastered on my face and maintained my power level with a dash of Divine Ki from my Ascended Human Path.

It gave me the serentiy and calm in the face of this amount of people, just what I needed. The ballroom wasn't as packed as the palace had been on Gohan's crowning day, but it was very busy with many well-dressed people representing all sorts of different walks of life. Gohan started the speeches, something he no doubt wrote entirely on his own.

I loved it when others wrote my speeches, just reading it once was enough to memorize them and I knew it would be an acceptable statement.

I was ready to go on stage when it happened.

My hidden earpiece crackled with an incoming emergency call, "CHIYO! HE'S HERE!"

"Trunks?"

"Yeah, he is passed out in his time machine! Get here quick!" Bulma yelled.

"On my way." I spun to Gohan, "It's time... I will take Tien and Piccolo, join us if you can get away."

"Alright, good luck sis, give him a shot for me."

"You know I will."

A series of Instant Transmissions later and I was floating above Capsule Corp, Tien and Piccolo with me.

I stayed at the Z Force Campus long enough to inform everyone and to send out Guardians around West City. A timer had started, and cameras, energy detection arrays, and shield projection arrays were all pointed above Capsule Corp.

"There you are, Chiyo! He is in pain! Please help!" Bulma yelled from under a covered patio. She had some frightened staff around and our Trunks and Goten were looking on at Future Trunks with wide eyes.

I stepped once, my Ki pushing me to appear just next to him without disturbing any of the air around me. His face was an open book in which to read his feelings. Waves of emotional and physical pain roiled like thunder, crashing through his aura and features.

He looked skinny like he hadn't been eating well. I knew that was true for everyone on Future Earth, the entire world was in ruins and too many people congregating was an open target for Zamasu's destructive tendencies. I placed a hand on his chest and cheek, not touching him hard enough to disturb, but enough to send my Ki into critical points on him: head and heart.

Future Trunks had a rugged sort of handsomeness about him, the pain he had lived through had given him a stern demeanor, even if he was unconscious his aura held him differently than our Trunks. I could feel the chaotic emotions, but one of them stood strong against the storm, nearly bringing me to tears.

He felt hope.

Hope that he can find a solution. Hope that we can find a way to help his timeline. Hope that things will be alright.

I covered him in my aura and pushed as much comfort as I could into the surroundings with my aura. I wrapped him and everyone around us with warmth and the love that I felt for my family and friends.

His wounds began to close and his muscles relaxed. I heard Bulma sigh and I could feel Goten and little Trunks looking at me with wide eyes. I guess I haven't really shown much of my emotional abilities to everyone.

I kept the healing going, and slowly but surely, the emotions that tainted his Ki were distracted as I covered his aura and regenerated his body.

His eyes opened after a bit, the cerulean blue orbs landed on my silver ones. His mouth opened in shock as he stared at me. My hand was on his cheek so it felt strange that he leaned into it but I just kept healing him.

"It's alright, Trunks. You made it here safely. Everything is going to be okay," I said in the most compassionate tone I could manage.

His eyes began to water and his left hand cupped my right hand holding his cheek as he spoke. His voice was hoarse and sounded like sandpaper, "I don't know why, but I believe you."

It brought a smile to my lips, "Just relax, I am healing you."

As he put his hand back down, two of his fingers trailed along the back of my hand. He seemed to be entranced and I found myself staring back.

Bulma came up and grabbed his free arm, "Trunks, you okay?"

"Mom!?" He searched his mother's face, now looking much younger than the last time he saw her.

"It's alright Trunks, I am here."

Younger Trunks, I noticed had been staring in shock this whole time, "What is going on? Who is this guy?"

"He is a future version of you, from another timeline now, don't worry for now, okay?" Bulma said to the little guy.

Bulma offered words of comfort and I continued healing him.

"I am healing?" Future Trunks asked while looking between Bulma and me, his mind dazed.

"Yes, don't worry alright? This time, we are going to save you," I said to him. His confusion only grew as he stared at me.

"She is right Trunks, don't worry, we are ready for your return this time," Bulma said with a comforting smile.

He just looked dazed not trying his best to deny the feeling of hope, like the feeling would hurt him.

I finished healing him and he relaxed a bit but looked no less confused.

Moving my hand from his chest drew his attention from his mother, "It's alright, we got this. Trust us." I smiled at him reassuringly.

I felt like I was overwhelming him at this point, the euphoria of healing combined with seeing his mother after just losing her had to be taxing on his mind and soul. I stepped away to where Tien and Piccolo had been watching silently.

Bulma moved away and used the communication device tied to Whis's staff. She contacted Vegeta and Goku who were currently training on Beerus's world. She made sure to invite Beerus and Whis, both needing to be here to feel Zamasu's aura.

Tien, Piccolo, and I powered up and waited. Not at full strength, but just enough to push us there in a second's time, all with Divine Ki.

My dad used our signatures to Instant Transmission to us after Bulma explained what was happening.

Vegeta looked around, "Where is he?"

"Over here Vegeta!" Bulma called, voice still strained, despite Trunks being healed. I gave them some space but overheard Vegeta questioning him on his reasons for coming back, yet he still seemed to be in a daze.

I got notifications that the Z Force was locking down our city in preparation for a fight. This was essentially just enacting Earthquake protocols with a potential Powered Invasion, getting people indoors and out of harm's way. The Z Guardians were out in force and I could feel some 50 lower-leveled Guardians flying around West City, all under Krillin and 18's command.

"Hey, if I am noticing anything, it's definitely that you all look ready for a fight!" Goku said, an excited smirk on his face.

"Sorry Dad, we have dibs on this fight," I said.

"I don't know Chiyo, you are wearing high heels...maybe I should be the one to step-"

He was cut off by a form flying at him with blue hair, "You Bastard!"

My dad easily caught his hand, as Trunks swung at him, "I'll make you pay!"

I stepped up quickly, my speed with Divine Ki being enough to reach them instantly, "It's not him Trunks, he is still Goku." I pushed my calming emotions at him, cooling his angry response.

"H-how? How are you alive?"

"Trunks, honey...You have been through a lot, but things are going to be alright now," Bulma said.

"I am sorry...Goku, I didn't think you would still be alive after...after Cell," Trunks said. "I am so sorry, I thought you would have been gone."

"Like we said, things are different Trunks, we have a plan," Bulma said.

It was like he woke up, realizing that his mother was there, regardless of the interactions he shared with her so far. He sprinted and immediately hugged her, instantly breaking down. "Mom...we did it! The sacrifices were worth it! I made it back..." His voice broke and my heart hurt at the pain he had suffered.

"You are safe now, honey. We can help," Bulma said, holding her son.

He gathered himself for a moment and we let him take his time. I kept my eyes on the sky only exchanging glances with Tien and Piccolo. They were still ready to fight once Black made it here.

Trunks finally stood up and grabbed his sword and back sheath, putting them in their place.

"Still carrying that thing?" Vegeta asked.

"It's comforting...always has been," Trunks said simply.

"I see," Vegeta said. He stood quietly but his gaze never left his son. Inspecting every detail, especially when Trunks looked away, it seemed like Vegeta wanted to savor the sight of him in any way that he could.

"So, what happened Trunks? What brought you back here this time? Majin Buu?" Goku asked.

"I wish... but no. Luckily, I had the warning from the Supreme Kai and I was able to stop his release. It was a hard fight, but I won in the end."

I picked up on that, "They never release him then?"

Trunks looked back at me, his eyes going wide again, "Uhh...n-no. His capsule is still sealed within Babidi's ship."

"Hmmm.." I said, my mind whirling.

"I don't like that look, what are you planning Chiyo?" Bulma asked me, her tone taking on an implied warning.

"I have no idea what you are talking about, Bulma."

"Uhhh, who is that?" Trunks asked.

"Goku's daughter, we can talk about it later," Bulma said.

"Alright...well, as I was saying," Trunks continued while still glancing at me, "Not long after I stopped Babidi from reviving Majin Buu...another enemy came, one worse than any yet."

"Wow, worse than Majin Buu?" Goku asked with all the excitement his imagination could offer.

"Yeah...the reason I attacked you, is because you look just like him." Trunks said.

"What do you mean?" Goku asked.

I spoke up, "It's actually an evil Kai from the 10th Universe. He betrayed and killed his Supreme Kai, taking the role for himself."

That drew everyone's attention.

"I explained the plan to everyone here already, but just so the rest knows, he will be coming here any minute. Tien, Piccolo, and I will be engaging him, no questions asked. We will not miss this opportunity to save a timeline."

"I knew you were getting ready for a fight!" Goku said.

"We are, but this isn't one that we can let happen just for fun. This is an evil being who has done terrible things, wiping out worlds of innocent people. He has to be detained."

His smile turned to a frown at my words, but he broke out into a smile almost immediately, "Alright! But I get round 2 then!"

It wasn't the worst beating he had taken, yet it came hand and hand with two more devastating memories.

New nightmares to add to the collection.

Black holding his mother by her neck, corrupted Ki turning her into ash as she stared into his eyes. There was fear, but there was also trust. Trust in her son.

It just made it hurt worse.

If that wasn't enough, the image of a silent and unmoving Mai flashed in his mind right after, the strange look of peace despite the destruction surrounding her.

A familiar feeling welled up in his stomach. One that he had experienced more than anyone should. The deep feeling of having nowhere to turn, no one to lean on, and nowhere to go. Everyone had given everything to get him to this point, each one dying to try and save more. He felt so alone.

Warmth broke his spiraling thoughts, warmth that didn't just calm his turbulent ki, but also embraced him.

Trunks couldn't decide if he made it to the right timeline or if something else had happened. Did he hit something on the controls as he left? Did Black send his time machine in some other direction with that last Ki blast?

Then he opened his eyes.

A young woman with beautiful black-spikey hair, folded over in a style he had never seen before. She had impossibly silver orbs that held so much compassion that he couldn't look away.

She had a green glow about her, the same energy that was flowing through him reflected off her face. It was entrancing.

He went through the motions until he attacked Goku. This timeline was completely different than what he knew, and everything seemed to be centered around that girl. With those incredible silver eyes.

He only looked away before he finally realized that his mom was alive...

Trunks had made it, regardless of how different it was.

A spark of energy and a powerful surge of dimensional forces were released above Capsule Corp.

"It's happening. Z Force be ready!" I said to the operator waiting for my call.

"Tien, Piccolo...Power up!"

"Right!" Tien said, matching Piccolo's grunt.

Neither hesitated, both growing much larger in size and power. Tien activated the Four Witches technique as he accessed the power from his Divine Triclops Racial line.

Piccolo accessed the power from his four paths as well, turning bulkier and orange. The Tree of Life symbol appeared on his back, and his clothes were made from his power, therefore they reflected his power.

My hair flashed and I pulled both from both of my spiritual paths. Ignoring the Destruction energy that was calling to me, my hair turned silver, my tail matching the metallic color. I powered up and waited.

A portal of black and purple energy sprung out of nothing, piercing through our temporal reality where Trunks had left an opening.

I held my breath in anticipation, not that I needed to breathe, yet it was instinctual.

He came through.

The blood-drenched aura of a genocidal maniac billowed out from this imposter. It had my dad's face, but he had never made that expression before.

He was looking down on the world around us with disgust and confusion.

"Now," I said.

A few things happened at once.

I formed two balls of condensed Ki, igniting sparks of Ki Lightning. It was about to launch but I heard the sound of Tien's Time Skip activate.

I was worried that Black's Time Ring would enable him to feel Tien's ability, but it didn't matter.

Black screamed out in pain, his right hand exploded in bloody mist. The Time Ring was in one of Tien's hands as my lightning hit Black.

I chose lightning cause it doesn't have knockback force behind it, instead, it wishes to pierce and destroy anything it touches.

Zamasu, wearing my father's body, screamed more as his chest was torn open with lightning, the wounds instantly cauterized with my Ki.

"Do it, Piccolo!"

Piccolo grunted again and he released his power while aiming at Black.

"EVIL CONTAINMENT WAVE!" Piccolo shouted.

His orange/gold Ki turned a bright green as it grabbed onto Zamasu. The bottle Piccolo set down in preparation was one of the many I had commissioned from precision metal workers. It easily captured Black, his pain turning to horror as he was sucked into the bottle.

There were no words, no time for sneering, and no time for remorse.

The lid snapped shut and a clone of mine threw the latch and activated the sealing symbol by filling the Ki-absorbing metal with the necessary energy. It sealed shut with no problem.

Tien snorted and lightly tossed Black's hand, Time Ring and all, back through the portal.

He flew away as it closed.

We waited for a few minutes, just waiting to see if anything happened.

"Sooo, Uhh, Chiyo?" Goku asked.

"Yeah?"

"Did you just beat me up and put me into a bottle?"

I laughed, "No, like I said, it was a mad Kai from the future version of Universe 10."

That broke the tension and I picked up the bottle.

Future Trunks looked at me in shock as I spoke, "That's the first step complete."

"First step?" Trunks asked.

"What are you on about, Princess!? Was that actually a Kai that messed with time?" Beerus asked.

"Yes, Lord Beerus. Whis, did you see his Time Ring?"

"I saw Tien here remove it and toss it back through the tear in our space-time continuum if that is what you mean," Whis said, entirely unimpressed.

I nodded, "We have more rules to break before we can call this finished."

I went on to explain what needed to happen for timeline integrity. I was pushing Whis and Beerus to the limits of their patience, but they understood.

We talked about the Time Ring, the Portara Earrings, and what will happen when they go to check Zamasu's aura. I handed Beerus the Katchin bottle with divine-level sealing which contained Zamasu over to Beerus.

They readily agreed to go visit the 10th Universe as both of them were interested in meeting present Zamasu, after eating a meal of course. Beerus also agreed to allow Goku to spar with Zamasu in the 10th, something I thought needed to happen.

Trunks ate with the ravenous hunger of a person who had just been rescued from a long time away from society.

All of us were able to dig in while I studiously ignored messages from Gohan wanting me to make a speech at the event I got out of. It wasn't happening today.

After eating, the Destroyer lived up to his name and crushed the contained metal bottle with Destruction Ki.

Just like that, Goku Black was Destroyed.

That very same afternoon Goku, Whis, and Beerus left for the 10th Universe to have an interesting discussion. I didn't give any hints about what would happen to my dad, only assured him that the Supreme Kai's apprentice was a good fighter. He really only seemed to care about that, and off they went.

I changed out of my nice clothes and put on some overalls that I used to wear when Bumla and I built our spaceships. I headed down to her workshop where she was going through the notebook her future self sent back for her with Trunks.

"Hey Chiyo, how's it going?" Bulma asked.

"Good, Trunks is asleep then?"

She nodded, "You weren't kidding when you said he'd been through a lot. I can't imagine how hard things were for him to risk coming back here again."

"Yeah, it is hard to imagine that everything there could have been the same here if not for Trunks. We owe him much."

Bulma paused and looked up at me with a knowing smile, "Not just Trunks, you as well."

I snorted lightly, "A bit, I admit, but without the little monsters, I never would have existed. It is an odd thing to feel like you owe your little brother your life...I hope I am good enough of a big sister to make it worth it for him."

"For both him and Trunks, they both love you to pieces Chiyo. I am not happy they casually snuck off with the Dragon Balls, but everything that came with it was absolutely worth it. How much suffering are we trying to save right now after all?"

I let Bulma's rhetorical question hang and nodded, "We will save them. All of Trunks timeline, and hopefully all those that Zamasu had previously wiped out."

"How many worlds?"

I shook my head, "Enough to put a Destroyer to shame. He wiped out any and all mortal and sentient life with a disgusted frown on his face. Even keeping him where he is isn't enough."

"Where did you put him?" BUlmas asked.

I just smiled.

The answer was simple.

"You could say that I left him to his fate."

"What does that mean?"

"In the Future Timeline, he would have killed every Destroyer and Kai. When I explained this to Beerus, and that it was his intention to do so again...Well, he took the bottle and destroyed it right there. Before Zamasu in Goku's body could be released from the Evil Containment Wave, he was completely Destroyed."

"Huh...just like that, huh?"

I shrugged, "Seeing things happen differently in my mind is a strange gift. But it is welcome all the same. Goku Black would have gone on to bring the entire timeline down with him as he passed. But we stopped it immediately...just a bit ago. The possibility of the other version of him winning has been cut in half...I just worry that we will not have the strength when we go forward."

"The whole, stronger with every fight then?"

"Sort of, a few of us believe the Zenkai Boost from Saiyan bloodlines is reduced now that Divine Ki is involved. But we still get strong by pushing ourselves within inches of death. These fights with the Zamasu's was enough to push all the Saiyans that survived, much further." I said, about to elaborate further, "I mean to say-"

"You mean to say that you are going to take them into the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for a year, Future Trunks included, and fight until you all lose your minds," Bulma said.

I nodded with a nervous gulp, "Yes, that place is a nightmare but we need the power upgrade and Trunks has to learn a few new abilities if he is to challenge Future Zamasu."

"What abilities?" A voice said. Bulma and I looked up from our discussion and found Trunks looking at us. I had been drawing plans to fit Trunk's time machine into one of Bulma's extra ships, something I had been thinking about for a while. It should work just fine in the spot where I put the gravity chamber on my ship.

"Well, there are a few you will need to learn, but also something that has to be unlocked. Don't worry about that until tomorrow," I said.

He nodded and looked at his mom with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh! Right! Trunks, honey, you haven't actually been introduced...this is Son Chiyo, Gohan's twin sister!" Bulma said.

I was surprised by that as well, not remembering to introduce myself to him, "Oh yeah."

"Ch-Chiyo...how is this possible?"

"That's rude..." I said with humor in my tone.

"Uh! Sorry! I mean, nice to meet you, Chiyo." Trunks said nervously. "Thanks for the healing by the way."

I smiled, "Of course, it is nice to meet you as well."

We met eyes and shook hands, his cheeks blushed and he turned away.

"So, what are these abilities?" Trunks asked.

I just smiled.

"So, did you get some rest?" Bulma asked Trunks.

He nodded, "I did."

"I left out some clothes for you, you should have changed into them! You don't have to keep wearing those dirty rags!"

"Hmph, well I can dress myself," He said, ignoring our laughs while dusting off his jacket, "How is the ship doing?"

"Great, actually! Chiyo said it would have been destroyed if we didn't move it, and sure enough, I left a whole book of notes here so I know how to refuel it!"

"What?!" Trunks said.

"Our Princess here can see a future version of our timeline, she has saved us many times over since she arrived," Bulma said.

Trunks looked at me with wide eyes and an open mouth, "You knew I was coming?"

I nodded once, "Yes, I have prepared us-"

He interrupted, "Do we win?"

The fear in his voice was painful to hear. The fear of losing the last amount of hope.

He noticed my hesitation.

"It is already too different now to say, but we are winning currently, if that helps."

"What do you mean?!"

"If I hadn't been ready, he would have destroyed the Time Machine, but when he went back... he would have used the insights from fighting Goku to get exponentially stronger."

He still stared at me expectantly.

"He has been Destroyed, Trunks. He is gone. We just have to deal with his partner, the one you never met. That is our plan."

"What would have happened?"

"It doesn't-"

"WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED? AM I NOT STRONG ENOUGH? Are none of us strong enough?" He yelled, his voice breaking during his last question.

"It won't happen now Trunks... I promise."

Tears flowed from his eyes, "I let them all down...didn't I?"

"No! Trunks, Mai isn't dead! She is alive! She was just knocked out when you saw her last."

He didn't speak, just searched for the truth in my words. He didn't find it, looking at his mom.

"She sees things Trunks, we knew you were coming for months and have been prepared. If she saw that Mai lives, then she definitely does." Bulma said, her hand on her son's shoulder.

"If you are wrong..."

"It won't matter either way Trunks," I said.

His face turned into a frown, "How can you say that?"

"I am going to fix your timeline," I began, "To do that we need Dragon Balls."

"They are all gone..." He shook his head like he was talking to an idiot.

I smirked, "That is why were are bringing a set there."

Too many revelations had gone through his mind in the last few minutes, his emotions fluctuating too much for him to truly comprehend what I was saying.

"Oh? Did Monaito agree?" Bulma asked.

"Oh yes, he was excited to do so, feeling helpless since we already have a Guardian here. Granolah isn't happy about it, but he is free to go with him so..." I shrugged.

"Hmmm, I'd imagine he's not going to go, Muezli would kill him," Bulma said.

"True."

"Wait...who is this? I am confused."

"Like I said, you will have your own trials to deal with over the next...time period, while Bulma and I get your ship ready!"

"But...all you have to do is refuel it?"

Bulma snorted, "Well, I might be upgrading you just a bit."

"Huh?" Trunks said.

"Go get changed then Trunks! We are headed to the palace and we need to at least change into fully intact clothing," Bulma said.

"I am sure anything feels like a palace these days..." Trunks said under his breath.

"What was that?" Bulma asked.

"Nothing, Mom."

"Get changed! Then be back here! Chiyo is coming back to pick us up with Chichi and Goten! And where is the little, TRUNKS!" Bulme yelled down the hallway.

"I almost finished!" Trunks yelled back as he changed into clean clothing.

Bulma finished up her makeup and was ready to go as Chiyo appeared with Chichi and Goten.

"Hey everyone!" Chichi said.

"Heya Chichi, how's it going?" Bulma said with a smile.

"Ah, it's going well Bulma! I am just so excited to see my boy! I never get to see him anymore!" Chichi said sadly.

"He was just over for dinner the other night, Mom!" Goten said.

"I know, dear, it is never enough!" Chichi said.

Chiyo laughed, "Well, Goku is off with Beerus and Whis, is Vegeta coming?"

Bulma snorted, "Of course not, though I texted 18 and she promised to bring everyone."

"18!? You mean the android?" Trunks said with horror.

"Don't worry, she is not evil, and is a mom now! Krillin's wife!" I said with a smile.

He shook his head as if shaking my words from his ears, "This is so crazy..."

"It's alright honey, you will get used to it!" Bulma said.

"We ready to go?" Chiyo asked.

"Yup! TRUNKS LET'S GO!" Bulma yelled.

Trunks came flying down the hall and he bumped fists with Goten.

"Alright, everyone! Hold on!" Chiyo activated Instant Transmission.

Big Trunks felt the sensation of shifting oddly as Chiyo's strangely imperceptible aura wrapped them up. They appeared on a patio overlooking a garden with water and koi fish moving around in beautiful pathways. Exotic and rich-smelling plants only seemed to enhance the tranquil scene.

It was so strange to Trunks, his last year was spent in ruins, and now he was in a place with flowing water and calm serenity.

It was beautiful.

Lights of all colors were inside the water, illuminating the flowing liquid as it traversed the grounds. Trunks felt his eyes following the water, it fell down a few times, causing a sound that echoed around the courtyard.

"There you guys are! Welcome!" A pleasant female voice said.

Trunks turned and found a human woman with beautiful blue eyes and a matching child in her arms. Her hair was as dark as a Saiyan, but it didn't have the same thickness that standard Saiyan hair had.

"Videl! Good to see you, my dear!" Chichi said, walking up and hugging her while taking Pan into her arms. Behind them 18, Krillin, and Maron were all smiling and walking forward.

Greetings were had until 18 walked up to Future Trunks, putting a soft fist into his chest, "I've heard what you did. You killed me off in your timeline didn't you, you arrogant little punk."

"It was you or mankind, so yeah."

18's voice didn't reflect her pleasantly smiling face, "Then I demand retribution, I'm gonna make you pay."

Trunks' eyes were wide and everyone was watching with held-back smiles.

"Hmph, you should see your face. Got ya!" 18 said before laughing and walking back to Krillin.

Trunks just looked shocked as he watched 18 and Krillin laugh. A cute blonde child between them.

"18 huh? I think I need a break..." Trunks said tiredly.

"Oh come on Trunks, you got this!" Bulma said with a smirk.

He went through the motions as everyone said hello and welcomed him. It wasn't until Gohan showed up that he was pushed out of his thought process.

Gohan was walking down the hallway in a crisp and clean suit. It had sleek pinstripes on it, showcasing his muscled chest and shoulders. Trunks could feel the Ki flowing from him like an aura of royal power. Gohan finished his conversation with one of his assistants and turned to look at his twin sister.

She had a sheepish smile on her beautiful face. Trunks almost felt like he was betraying his feelings for Mai just by studying her features. She was no doubt a Saiyan with that tail and hair. Trunks inspected Gohan once again as he chastised her for something.

Gohan extracted a promise from Chiyo of some sort, laughing at her pouting face. He shook his head and leaned over to Videl, giving her a kiss on the cheek. His wife's smile was radiant as she wrapped a supportive arm around Gohan. Chichi came over and held his daughter up to him. The little girl squealed in happiness as she saw her dad. Gohan hugged his mother while kissing his daughter on the top of her head.

Trunk's vision split as a memory passed in front of his face. It was a 1-armed Gohan, staring into a yellow Ki blast. The last light of a dying city.

It reflected off his heroic face, the horror at what he saw striking his eyes. He flashed back to this version, surrounded by the people he loves with smiles on their faces.

Gohan is strong, and full of life and love. For a second, Trunks felt sad, alone even, but then he realized that without his actions and his pain, this never would have happened. It was all worth it.

He had saved this world from the fate of his own. He looked up again and found Chiyo staring at him. Her piercing silver gaze felt like it saw right through him. She nodded once, as if in confirmation.

Trunk did a double take. She knew his thoughts, didn't she?

She smiled and waved him over, "Trunks! Come say hello to my brother!"

His stormy face cleared like a late summer storm dispersing in the evening light, having dropped its share of water for the day. Gohan was smiling at him now, he felt his cheeks and ears go red in embarrassment but walked forward all the same, "Right, heya Gohan!"

"Great to see you Trunks! Have you met my wife and daughter yet?"

Trunks smiled while thinking that things just might work out. After all, Goku Black was already defeated...right?

The next day came quickly after a fabulous family dinner the night before. I forgot how fun it is to eat at the palace, the place being completely decked out in wide hallways and beautiful lighting.

I could only imagine the kind of place I would create if I were a Destroyer. That is assuming Beerus was the one who designed his world...or at least had Whis design it.

It would have reminders of the earth all over though, hard to imagine something so far beyond my experience, who knows if we will even make it past defeating Zamasu. Or if things even go right, we might be in trouble for not producing a friend for Zeno once my dad goes and visits him.

No use worrying about it now.

I could sense Trunks and Vegeta going at it in a training room. I wasn't going to spy on them but the moment Vegeta showcased the Super Saiyan Blue transformation, it had my attention.

My dad used Instant Transmission from our house to pick up Bulma and bring them to the viewing room. I met them there with an Instant Transmission of our own.

Vegeta was yelling at Trunks though we couldn't hear through the glass.

"Hey, Chiyo!" Goku said.

"Hey, Dad! Hey, Bulma!"

"You wanted to see how this turned out also?"

I shrugged and looked back into the gravity training room, "I guess I wanted to see Trunks' reaction to Divine Ki. Wanted to see if he wants to get stronger when he looks at Vegeta or if he looks content."

Both Bulma and my Dad looked contemplatively over at Trunks, his expression still reflecting surprise.

"Hmm, he still looks surprised," Goku said.

"His aura paints a different picture though," I said with a smile.

"Oh? And what does his aura say?" Bulma asked.

"Hmmm, maybe both...that he both wants to learn to get stronger, but is also happy and hopeful about the distance his father has traveled in power," I said.

They nodded but Bulma spoke up, "I would say that he has had a burden lifted, even if he doesn't fully trust you, just the confidence you have when you told him Mai was alive is worth it."

"And Goku Black being destroyed hopefully helped my cause a bit," I said.

"He didn't actually see that," Bulma said.

"He saw the Evil Containment though right?" Goku asked.

"True, the real confirmation will happen once we get him back to the future to find it free from Goku Black. But to do that, we need Trunks to be able to fight future Zamasu. It wouldn't do otherwise..."

"What else do you have planned, Chiyo?"

"I am going to fix their world, in its entirety. That means not only defeating the enemies, but defeating all the future ones, fixing the world, and setting that universe up for a peaceful future," I explained.

Bulma shook her head while looking at me in what could be deciphered as amazement. It was hard to tell for sure.

"Wow, Chiyo! I can't believe you have all this planned already!" Goku said.

The fight had changed tempo in the room and Trunks had fully powered up, not enough to make a dent against Divine Ki, but enough to draw attention. His Super Saiyan power had been pulled from need and circumstance instead of naturally forming it. This means it was more...raw and unfiltered as other auras were. It highlighted the hardships that the future dragged Trunks through.

We kept watching until the fight concluded, Bulma being held back from stopping Vegeta's Saiyan-esque treatment of Trunks by Goku. It was necessary, though.

Vegeta had to be able to communicate with him somehow, and if the only way he could do so was through the Saiyan method of fists instead of words, then so be it.

They finally emerged from the training room, bruised and beaten, but with smiles on their faces. At least as close to a smile as Vegeta liked to show.

"Great fight you two!" Goku praised.

Vegeta scoffed.

Trunks smiled through a bruised face.

I smiled and shook my head as I healed him.

"Ugh, you two are hopeless, get a shower and I will have food ready at Capsule Corp," Bulma said.

Two days later Goku, Beerus, Whis, and Shin arrived after visiting Grand Zeno. Goku made the promise of finding him a friend in the future. We sat down and enjoyed some snacks as the discussion of how Zamasu became Black.

"And you are absolutely sure, Princess?" Beerus asked, taking a sip of his tea. He used the same amount of sarcasm every time he said princess, but it still held weight this time around.

"Absolutely."

"Hmmm, the difference between Zamasu and Black though...it is drastic," Whis said.

I nodded, "They have a tea in Universe 10. It is made from some red hibiscus flowers that bloom with the care of the Supreme Kai there. When the divine flower is prepared properly and steeped with the Divine Ki of a Kai, its taste and nature will reflect the internals of whoever made it...a mirror played out as the tea cools," I led on.

"Gowasu, Supreme Kai of the 10th, uses this tea to try and understand the level of clarity his apprentice, Zamasu, has attained. You see, our current Zamasu will have been cloudy in his understanding of us 'mortals' and how we should live. After meeting my father, for the first few days at least, Zamasu has gone from unsure of his purpose, his tea cloudy and bitter, to the clarity of realizing that he has found his purpose. It is beyond hate and disgust of mortals, he believes it is a divine crusade that will only be solved after he destroys everyone...Project Zero Mortals he will name it."

Looking around frowns and concentrated disgust marred all the faces of the people here. Future Trunks staring at the table with anger and confusion.

Shin finally spoke, "I can't believe a Kai would be so...lost."

I had more to say though, "Gowasu, tried to explain things to him, to teach Zamasu the differences between good and evil, but it seems he failed." I continued, "Zamasu believes the clarity he found after witnessing some of the duties of a Supreme Kai, is a divine epiphany of sorts. He saw a vicious species of young sentient beings, still in a constant state of war in their primitive tribal society. It was all he needed to confirm his path."

"That doesn't explain the difference in their auras," Beerus said.

"Of course not, the next answer is time."

"Ah, you are implying that the time Goku Black spent more or less traveling to the future, was enough to change his aura so drastically?" Whis asked.

I nodded again, "He spent his time trying to act as a Destroyer, except he didn't Destroy as one would, instead he murdered planets worth of people, gods, and anything he views as a mortal stain on this world."

"Dammit!" Trunks yelled after a few seconds of letting it sink in.

"He will watch the fight between Goku and Vegeta around the Super Dragon Balls, on the God Tube thing they have. This will be the moment Zamasu leaves to find out more about them. He uses my father as a fulcrum to justify all of his actions. Zamasu is so terrifying because he truly believes that what he is doing is right."

Trunks scoffed, "He's doing it all in the name of justice?!"

Beerus spoke up, "Anyone constantly talking about justice either doesn't understand it or perverts the meaning to their own agenda. Seen it hundreds of times..."

"Either way, I believe Chiyo to be correct. Which means that Gowasu is in imminent danger. We should leave now my lord," Whis said, his tone growing urgent.

I frowned in nervous anticipation...did I get the timing right? Did Zamasu have enough time to witness the events of that war-like species that lived in tribes? I couldn't be sure.

"Goku, come with us," Beerus said, finishing his snack.

"Huh? Why?"

"Don't ask why!" Beerus yelled.

Whis had been looking at me, "Is there anything you wish to say before we go Chiyo?"

I nodded, "Bring my dad, and if we have the timing right then you will immediately be able to tell when Zamasu arrives. If we do have the timing right, he will arrive around mid-conversation. I trust both of your senses beyond mine, it should be obvious and I am sure you will know what is right to do."

"Hmmm, well said. I don't like that you know so much, but I do appreciate that you know how to let the events happen while only giving the basic outline," Whis commented.

"Well, it can't be too much or the events will change beyond what I can see. Happy mediums and all that," I said.

The three took off in a blast of Divine Ki.

I stared off into the sky, watching their auras with my Ki-Sensing ability. Whis was so fast that he was already out of our galaxy in seconds.

"Ahem, uh, Chiyo?" The wavering voice of Trunks asked.

I turned to him as he also looked up at the trail of energy that slowly faded away, "Yes?"

"You said something about learning techniques once Goku is back?"

"Oh, he will join us when he gets back."

"Right...well, I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about them, is it some new form or something?"

I smiled at him, "Hmmm, partially, but we are going to teach you some other techniques as well. Do not forget about what I said. Zamasu's body is invulnerable...you have to be able to damage his Ki reserves and spirit form as physical damage is irrelevant."

He looked at me nearly slack-jawed as I described that.

"That...could take a long time... I don't know if I can wait that long," Trunks said.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "I am setting you up with what you need to survive not only this event but for the foreseeable future. If you fail or if you let your emotions take control of you and you run away, back to your timeline...there is a very solid possibility of it being erased entirely. Not just your world, not just your planet, but everything over 12 universes will be gone."

I took a step towards him, it was a menacing gesture, "I will not allow that to happen. You will be trained, Trunks, you will be strong enough to defeat your enemies, not run away."

"I'M NOT RUNNING!" His step back when I advanced finally halted, his Saiyan anger rose and he stepped back at me. His Ki rose along with his anger. "We have been sitting here DOING NOTHING, while people are dying."

I knew at this point, I could double down and show him that his power has been irrelevant but that wouldn't help. I would instead give him an outlet. Shin was watching us, along with Vegeta and a few others.

"Fine then, if you want to leave... then I will give you that chance. Fight me, and if you beat me to three hits I will let you leave to the future. But if I win...then you do as I say and go back when I tell you."

I fully lied when I said this, hearing Vegeta's scoff. He couldn't travel to the future right now as Bulma had been moving the technology from his small Time Machine to a more powerful and much larger Universal Cruiser. That came with all sorts of adaptions that had to be made.

He stared at me, his rage unrelenting, but he didn't speak.

"Well?" I said.

His face turned even angrier, "Fine!"

He flew up into the air and powered up, "HEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"

Trunks short hair blasted upward in a flash of golden energy and light. His pupils turned teal and the pressure from his aura was enough to cause winds to blast away from him.

I nodded and floated up, activating the change button on my wristwatch. I had a set of black baggy martial arts pants that went to the ankle. Black shoes with silver metal rings that held them on. I had a normal black Gi but also had a silver circlet keeping most of the hair out of my face, matching silver bracers as well.

I wasn't going to give him a chance in this. I needed him to not only lose this but to understand that our plan would work.

I went deep into my Saiyan Path, pulling from the well of energy that was connected to my tail, I felt the cold willpower of the Oozaru clear my mind. It was as if I no longer cared about anything besides completing what needed doing. That was to say, I was about to hit Trunks, and I wasn't about to lose.

Trunks knew he was in the wrong, calling Chiyo out like he did. After constant losses fighting his Dad each day, his anger had been growing.

When she told him to wait though, it about broke his mind.

He could be with Mai again, how could she try and stop him?

It was easy to access the first level of Super Saiyan these days, the furious introduction of any of his recent memories would come close to sparking a transformation by itself. He flew up to a comfortable height, one that he and Gohan would train at before he died.

It had been difficult to sense Chiyo most of the time. Her Ki oddly seemed to blend into the environment unless she was flying or something. It had to be something like what his father did to access the Super Saiyan Blue transformation.

He had seen Chiyo change into this strange Silver-haired form, where rings of black energy also surrounded her eyes and her tail turned the same metallic color as the rest of her hair.

It was what she used to fire controlled bolts of Ki-lightning at Goku Black.

Trunks could picture that lightning in his mind, powerful enough to cause Black to scream as his chest was torn apart. He shivered at the memory but reaffirmed his resolve.

Was it something to do with the techniques she wanted to teach him? To show him that his Ki could also be undetectable and to access higher transformations?

It didn't seem to matter as to what little Ki he could sense from her vanished. That didn't stop the waves of pressure that were being emitted from her aura. It pushed him back as trees and bushes bent away. She seemed to disappear as stepped once and was immediately floating in front of him, not 20 meters away.

Her silver eyes had weight behind them, seeming to pierce his soul.

Trunks was breathing heavily, trying to stand up to the pressure.

"The fight starts...now!" Chiyo said, emotions missing in her tone.

He nodded and began powering up a Ki Blast.

Chiyo kept staring at him as a blur came from her body. His mind screamed as he recognized the Afterimage Technique.

He braced as a fist snuck right past his guard, but he was ready for the hit, immediately counter-attacking.

His strike went right through her form as if the Chiyo that hit him was actually an Afterimage!

He looked up to see that the original Chiyo hadn't moved.

"Afterimage...no...Clones?"

She raised an eyebrow as another copy of her came flying foot-first at his head. He leaned back and dodged only to be hit squarely in the back by a devastating knee, a second clone had hit him from behind.

"Aaaahhh!" Trunks screamed in pain as he was fully laid out in the air.

The last thing he saw was another version of Chiyo flying down at him, the third impact sent him into darkness.

I sighed, releasing my transformation. I caught him before he hit the ground and began healing him immediately. I pushed my feelings aside for now, knowing that this was necessary for Trunks to do what his timeline needed of him.

I don't know how he could have ever moved on from the loss of an entire timeline, knowing that you weren't strong enough to save them. In the show, Trunks and Mai left the main timeline to create another...one without the death and destruction that came with Zamasu. I know that if it were me, everything would feel fake like I didn't deserve to look at it, much less live in it in peace.

I will not let him go through that, I will enable him to have a future...one without more regret than he already has.

"Is he alright?" Bulmas asked, her tone slightly aggressive.

I nodded once.

"Well? What is next then?" Vegeta's angry voice said.

"We go into the time chamber and teach him the techniques he needs to move forward. When he learns what is needed then we unlock Divine Ki and hopefully Bulma will have his ship in a few days," I explained as I finished healing him.

Trunks' consciousness slowly rose from the darkness and I helped him up.

"Ugh, I guess I lost that, huh?"

"Hmph, we have a plan Trunks. Trust your mother if not me," I said.

"It's not that...I just don't like waiting. All I can see is...well, I just want to get back."

Bulma spoke, "We know honey, but Chiyo is right, she has the means to give you the tools that can fix that timeline. I believe her when she says that Mai is alive."

Trunks stared at his mom then took a deep breath, "Alright, what's the plan then?"

Vegeta smirked evilly, "That's more like it."

"The main thing I want to teach you is the Evil Containment Wave and I want to get you to a moderate level of Spirit Control as well."

This is the first 10 minutes inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and Goku and Vegeta were already fighting away from us.

"Uhhh, what is Spirit Control?" Trunks asked.

"Spirit Control is the gate you need to walk through to start truly controlling your Ki. The ability to sense Ki is only the beginning, it ranges further than that to a myriad of abilities including Instant Transmission, Ki Healing, Cloning, and more."

"Ki Healing...like how you healed me?"

"Yup."

"...After you beat me up with your clones?"

"Ahem...uh, yes," I said as a wave of embarrassment washed over me.

He snorted lightly and shook his head.

Training started immediately, drawing him into my spirit space to show the techniques and how I used them.

We went straight for basic Spirit Control, increasing his potency, efficiency, and regeneration. We would do this for 12 hours a day, then he would spar with Vegeta, Goku, and I.

I did my best to emulate what I knew of Zamasu's style, creating an aura blade with all of my active Ki. I wasn't great at it for the first few days, but eventually, I had a Ki Blade that was about as long as my forearm was.

I didn't enjoy using the stupid energy hand, but hopefully, it would help Trunks. My dad laughed at me using it, recognizing my struggle with the weapon. I was not matching the moves and my power level was too high compared to fighting this timeline's version of Zamasu before he was Destroyed. He thought it was hilarious that I kept accidentally cutting the right leg of my pants.

I could use a sword easily, a staff too. But a stupid hand blade? Not for me.

By the end of the first week in the Time Chamber, Trunks was able to use Instant Transmission. Building upon his Ki Sense was an easy foundation to work with. I just used the technique that I did with my dad to learn it. It took him longer than Gohan, but my brother and I have our bond, allowing the share of emotions to be easily communicated.

In the second week, Trunks mastered the Evil Containment Wave, something that Vegeta still scoffs at but it is too important of a tool to ignore.

The end of the first month came and Trunks was able to create clones with nearly equal power levels, not quite able to make perfect copies yet. He really didn't like using the clones for combat so we steered away from it after he used it. That being said, his spirit control had vastly improved, along with his power level.

The weird mentality that the Hyperbolic Time Chamber induces began to take effect. It was clear that the strange feeling of going through the motions and being emotionally muted was also impacting Trunks. He was distant and I realized I didn't have the energy to worry about it.

After another two months, he learned the basics of Ki Intrusion, the first step towards Forced Spirit Fission. The problem was that all of us could also use this technique, making it a battle of wills. It was hard to make any progress, but it made it so that he was better at it.

About four and a half months in, Trunks had a breakthrough and finally was able to partially control my Ki for the moment he landed a hit.

This was the next step of the main goal of learning Forced Spirit Fission and I explained to him why that was important.

"When you fight him, his arrogance and his superiority, in combination with his invulnerable body, means that he will let you hit him," I said.

Trunks shook his head, "Seriously?"

"Yes. Of course, when he can't find Black it will be interesting to see his reaction. It might be worth you dropping that knowledge at the right time to send him into a rage or put him off his game," I said.

Trunks nodded.

"But like I was saying, Force Spirit Fission can do more than just undo Fusion or Absorption Techniques, it can also do something I wouldn't have realized had I not accessed my Human bloodline. You have seen me use my Spirit Fire Technique while fighting against my Dad and Vegeta, right?"

"Yeah, that's the one that burns someone else's Ki away?"

"Exactly, but using Forced Spirit Fission lets you manipulate someone else's Ki, but there is more to it than that. It usually feels like shattering a glass prison, releasing souls and spiritual energy as you damage the target. But I would say that you absolutely can attack someone's Ki, removing some by spending your own. A fundamental aspect of my Spirit Fire," I said.

"And you can do this?" Trunks asked.

I threw a punch, my Ki reaching out with a blast of force. It hit him and instead of activating my Spirit Fire, I mentally formed the image of my Ki impacting his.

A huge chunk of his energy left his body with a wave of force as it passed through him.

"Ahh!" He grunted as he felt weak and lethargic. "Damn, that is rough."

I nodded, "That is your goal, Trunks. Use this technique, and it doesn't matter how invulnerable his body is...it's going to hurt him."

He caught his breath, staring down at his own chest. He nodded back, a rare smile showing on his face, "That sounds like something I can do."

"So, the last few days as you have been resting, Chiyo, my Dad, and I have been working our tails off to get your ship ready!" Bulma said to Trunks. We were walking into the finished hangar bay that held Trunk's new ship after leaving the Time Chamber.

I rolled my eyes at the tail joke.

"The fuel was tough to make? It took mom a full year to get enough to send me here," Trunks said.

Bulma just smiled her devious and knowing smile, "Oh we did more than that honey... Hit it, Dad!"

"You got it!" Dr. Briefs said.

He flipped a light switch and the hangar fully lit up, showing the standard Universe Cruiser ship model we had. This one was a bit different though, at least on the inside.

Trunks just let his jaw hang as he looked up at the 132-meter ship, "Uhhh, what?"

It was Bulma's turn to roll her eyes, "Trunks, this is your new time machine, the all-new TSUC-01, Time, Space, and Universal Cruiser. It was Chiyo's idea, but it makes sense."

"You are gonna love the name!" I said as we walked closer.

Like my ship, the UC-01 Golden Star, his was mostly white on the exterior, with black accents. Golden lines and glowing blue lights were all over, keeping the color scheme of Capsule Corp fully intact.

We walked over to the rear where the was no massive golden star like my ship, but there was the CC of Capsule Corp and the name of the ship.

"A New Hope?" Trunks said.

I smiled brightly at it, "Yeah! Your Time Machine is Hope 1, right?"

"Uhhh, I guess."

"Great! There is definitely no other reason that I love that name besides that!" I nodded and walked to the lowered ramp at the back.

Bulma laughed lightly and walked on, patting Trunks on the shoulder.

We made it inside and Bulma narrated everything until we got to a special room next to the Power Core.

It was all the reverse-engineered and remade Time Machine Equipment, now fully integrated and implemented into this ship.

Bulma and Dr. Briefs figured it out in less than two weeks.

"This is a Time Machine..." Trunks said.

"Duh! Did you think this was a submarine?" Bulma joked.

"Hah..."

"Well, you should be able to create your own fuel now..." Bulma gestured.

She manufactured a simplified and automated version of the machine that creates the special time fuel. It was more than that as well since the original version was a byproduct of creating something else. Bulma had figured out how to make it more efficient and easier to produce.

"I also stocked up much of the materials you need to produce more of the fuel, the ship scanners can find more as well. But this is more than just a time machine, it's also a fully capable universal ship, able to travel obscenely fast and far. There is a full medical bay, equipped with our latest technology, the healing chambers that can regenerate people from nearly nothing and more," Bulma kept describing.

"Here is the most important part though," I said, gesturing to the Ki Power Storage in the form of a small sphere.

Trunks raised an eyebrow as he looked down at the sphere in the wall.

"This is where you input your Ki, which will allow the ship to be partially powered and protected by your energy. Bulma figured out how to-" Bulma interrupted me.

"No, Chiyo, the Ki shield was all you! I just fixed the array a bit so it can fully encircle the ship."

I blushed at that, "Right, well what is my favorite part about this technology, is that you can control the ship remotely with your Ki. I like to throw mine up into the air after activating the capsule and then immediately hold it up there with my Ki alone while the Power Core activates."

I stage whispered the next part, "It looks so cool when you just have a huge ship pop into existence and use your Ki to hold it up there."

Bulma laughed again, "I knew you did it to look cool!"

"I do it because I am cool," I joked.

"Anyways! Put a bunch of your Ki in there right now and you should feel the switches."

He did just that and the ship was soon humming with more than just regular electrical power. Trunks Ki felt like it WAS the ship.

It was strange, to say the least.

"Whoa, I can feel the connection to the ship! And I can...project shields? Wow..." Trunks' voice was filled with awe at the ship we designed, that reaction was priceless.

Bulma and I had wide smiles as we showed the rest of the ship off. I could feel her pride mirroring mine as Trunks was continuously surprised by the different features of the ship. He was definitely overwhelmed, knowing that we had built him a brand-new time machine that was also a fully equipped spaceship.

After the tour was over Trunks looked over at me, "Well? Are we ready to face Zamasu?"

"Not yet, only one last thing, go ahead and put your ship into Capsule form for now."

Trunks activated the Ki Switch that put the ship inside the Capsule, much larger than normal Capsules, it looked like a scaled-down version of the ship with a button on it, small enough to fit in a pocket.

I used Instant Transmission and Bulma, Trunks, and I all appeared at an open field outside of Capsule Corp. Goku, Vegeta, Trunks, and Goten were waiting for us.

"Hey guys! You ready for some God Ki?" Goku asked with a huge smile.

Future Trunks smiled at everyone, and even Vegeta had a smirk on his face.

"Of course he's ready!" Bulma scoffed.

Vegeta grunted and we all moved to get in a circle around Trunks.

"We know what to do, just let the energy flow into you Trunks. This is the last thing you need to beat Zamasu and save your timeline, are you ready?" I asked.

He nodded, "I am. Thank you all, the last half a year of training has been the most intense I have ever gone through, but it wasn't life or death. That alone made this a great memory, thank you for sharing this time with me."

Future Trunks bowed at us and my dad walked over and clapped him on the shoulder, "Hey Trunks! It has been a great time fighting with you in the Time Chamber, I think you are more than ready to take down Zamasu!"

Vegeta stared at him, nodding, "You are of royal saiyan blood. You won't lose."

Future Trunks smirked and nodded back.

Little Trunks spoke up, "You got this Future Me! I know you can do it!"

Goten answered as well, "Yeah! Do great Trunks!"

Trunks smiled, "Thanks you two."

I stepped up to him and pulled him into a hug, "It has been fun training with you. Save your timeline, become the hero it needs."

I flushed red at how terrible that line was, but he nodded and we got ready for the ritual.

It went much the same as the other rituals had gone, but since then my senses have increased in strength many times over.

Feeling the ascension of his Ki into the heavens was something I hadn't sensed when we had gone through the ritual for Tarble. I hadn't fully reformed my body from Ki yet either, after soaking in the Spiritual Sea no less.

The moment his Ki amplified and breached the Divine Barrier was amazing as well. It was like a warm fire on a cold night, the expansion of his person and aura reached the upper atmosphere and spread across the world before he pulled back in.

The golden clouds in the sky brought all types of weather at once, snow and hail falling alongside rain.

His form was glowing as his body absorbed Divine Ki for the first time.

When he stopped floating, the ritual coming to a close, Trunks looked up into the sky with awe. He finally understood the difference in power.

With a steely determination, we prepared to go to the future.

A New Hope shook for a moment before stabilizing, the entire trip through time and space taking only a few seconds. Trunks took the Captain's seat and I had taken over one of the forwards consoles. It easily pierced the veil between timelines and within seconds were were there.

The ship was now floating over the ruins of West City. My screen lit up, recognizable locations that held only rubble now.

"I am so sorry, Trunks," I said quietly.

He just smiled slightly, "We are here to fix it."

Using my own line against me, I nodded. I had a few things to do before we got the attention of Zamasu. I kept my power level low and I quickly used Instant Transmission to appear outside the ship.

Sending a wave of Ki down to the ground, not with too much force, but enough to quickly outline anything. I found the Time Ring...and flesh. I quickly removed it and pocketed the ring.

Then I reached out with my senses to see if I could feel a certain prison for Majin Buu.

I remembered where it was compared to West City and sure enough, Trunks and the Supreme Kai just buried Babidi's ship. Well-placed Ki blasts let me dig into the ground in seconds, piercing through a familiar hull, if only much dirtier over the amount of time it stayed there. I quickly took note of the room and pulled out a Capsule, the Sphere containing Majin Buu was once again in my possession.

It wouldn't leave the Capsule any time soon.

A quick 2-minute job and 1 more Instant Transmission and I was back with the group. Trunks had unloaded everyone quickly and began to usher them underground as I reappeared.

There were resistance forces that had just stopped fangirling over Trunks, all wearing similar gear. I smelled smoke from the series of grenades that had been launched at my dad while I was off acquiring Buu. Their hostile attitude had changed to hope after Trunks spoke to them, explaining the situation.

Trunks just raised an eyebrow as I saw him.

I shrugged, "Everything work out?"

Trunks nodded but seemed distracted. He looked down at his hands, which I realized held Mai's beanie.

"Go get her, Trunks," I said.

He looked back at me as my words sunk in.

"Go!" I said, and it only took a second for him to realize he had been waiting for months to go see Mai again.

A huge gulp and his cheeks turned red in nervousness.

"Go!" Bulma said this time, refusing to be denied when she said she was coming along.

"Right!" Trunks took off running.

We followed him down into the subway systems below the ruins of West City...of my home city in another timeline.

It didn't take too long before we found the remainder of the group that had just clashed with Black before he went back to the past.

"MAI!" Trunks yelled, he used some Divine Ki to quickly step toward her as she turned.

Mai turned with shocked disbelief on her face, her injuries only made the disbelief of seeing him more evident, "T-Trunks? Is it really you?"

"Mai..." He grabbed her hand in both of his, holding it like a treasure.

Her smile was radiant and open.

"I-I am so glad you're alive..." He shook his head and looked down at her hand. "If you had died...I would be lost."

Her smile turned into a blush, it seemed to bring vitality into her as she heard that. The positive nature of his words was so much in opposition to the horrible last year of her life that she was stunned by them.

"Don't worry, Mai. Everything is going to be alright now," Trunks said.

I silently cheered for him as I told him he should show her his confidence when he finally saw her.

Goku laughed and even Vegeta smirked. Bulma looked genuinely happy for him.

I turned around and was brought out of the moment when I saw the trio still headed towards us.

Monaito was being helped by Granolah and Muezli to get down the stairs. All three of them had distant looks on their faces, but it was clear that there was an underlying determination behind it as well. Monaito looked to be on a mission after seeing the ruins of the world that had taken him in.

"You brought back-up?" Mai asked, looking at the huge group of powerful and clean people.

"Heh, more than that... When I went back in time, Goku Black followed me," Trunks said, a devious smirk on his face.

Mai's gaze narrowed, "He followed you...back in time!? What happened?"

Trunks snorted and gestured to me, "She defeated him."

I shook my head, "It was a team effort."

"Yeah, she didn't even let me fight him!" Goku said as he walked up with me.

The troops had been made aware he wasn't Black but that did nothing to quell their nervous gazes as they stared at my father. That all changed when they heard what Trunks said.

"What? Black is gone?" Many of them asked each other.

Mai looked back and forth between all of us, clearly in shock, "I-I don't believe it."

"Either way, Black wasn't working alone. Your fight isn't over yet," I said.

Mai's face turned stormy once again, "What do you mean?"

Trunks spoke, "Black...his real name is Zamasu, a disturbed Supreme Kai that took over Goku's body in their timeline. He and another version of himself have been...executing their self-named plan called Project Zero Mortals."

"It's about as terrible as it sounds, yet we are stopping it today, right Trunks?" I asked with a smile.

He snorted, "Heh, that we are."

"So what does this mean? This Zamasu is coming here?"

"He has to, for Trunks to defeat him. Now, let me heal you," I said.

I reached out and pushed a healing wave at Mai. She was concussed and had a myriad of scrapes, a broken rib, and a dislocated shoulder. She winced in pain as her shoulder set, but her vision cleared as her gaze landed on me.

"You healed me?"

I smiled and pushed my Ki out to all of the soldiers here. The light green light from healing Ki washed over everyone. It is so much faster to fix people with Ki power levels below 100 that the time it took to heal all of them was negligible.

The silence in the room was palpable as slack-jawed soldiers, the remainder of humanity's finest warriors, all took my healing like it was oxygen to a drowning person.

There was a slight ambient sound as my Ki embraced everyone, a soft sort of hum. I pushed emotional comfort into it as well.

Wet cheeks and runny noses were wiped as they breathed deep at the euphoria of my healing. I released the energy flow and looked back at Mai.

"Now, you have injured and sick people that need our help. We have food, healing, and hope, take us to them," I said.

Mai gulped, leaning into Trunks as she looked at me, "R-right."

We walked down the railway and Bulma walked up and bumped my shoulder, "It's times like this, Chiyo, that you really impress me. We are so lucky to have you."

I smiled at her, Bulma had been a mentor to me, not just with technology, but also with her outlook on life. She is a force of nature and her giving me this compliment made me feel all sorts of warm inside, "Thanks Bulma, but it isn't over yet."

"It doesn't matter Chiyo," She pulled me into a half hug, "What you have done for Trunks alone is beyond anything I could ever ask for. Not even counting the ENTIRE TIMELINE of lives you are saving here..." Bulma said.

I leaned into her hug, "I just hope it all works out...If Zeno decides to...well, let's just hope it works out."

Trunks watched the new friend he had found in Son Chiyo. She was a whirlwind of change everywhere she went, the wake of her passing feeling like a force of nature.

The changes she had made just by existing were beyond anything that Trunks had imagined possible. She figured out how to become Gods, created an organization to protect the Earth, and even somehow got Gohan to become King of the whole world.

She walked through the Subway station with her arms wide, energy flowing from her. It was Divine Ki to his senses, yet he couldn't figure out the Spirit Control technique no matter how much he tried it. Just like with the soldiers and Mai, tears flowed from the injured humans.

Women, children, and even stern men, all wept with the emotional exhaustion they felt.

Running through the ruins of West City had taken its toll, both the children and the elderly were few in number. All of the stress and horror of going against a world-destroying God was visible in the faces of the survivors.

That all changed when Chiyo walked through the station like a goddess of life. Her healing energy was laced with her comforting emotions, a technique she had tried to teach Trunks, but he hadn't been able to figure it out either.

Tears of hope trailed down their faces, carving pathways through the dirt and grime from running through the devastation.

Mai leaned on him, "Who is she?" Mai watched the exotic-looking person, with baggy martial arts pants in white with a matching gi. She stood out before she stole the attention of everyone here.

"Kinda like a teacher and a friend. In the other timeline, she is Gohan's twin sister."

Mai nodded, watching Chiyo glow in the healing light, "She's something, that is for sure."

Trunks lightly snorted, "Yes she is...apparently she has some sort of future sight and was prepared for my arrival. She knew that Black was going to follow me through time. She was ready with three incredibly strong fighters who took him down in seconds."

He stared at Chiyo as he spoke, his gaze seeing a memory instead of the being in front of him, "She also trained me to fight Zamasu...I have gotten much stronger."

Mai turned to him and raised an eyebrow as Trunks continued, "She taught me how to unlock a form of Divine Ki...what Zamasu and Black use. It's much better when used for good though."

Feelings of jealousy, frustration, and happiness all raged for supremacy within Mai's mind. She had so many emotions from the first few minutes of Trunks' return that it was confusing to try and separate them, to connect them to events.

"You are going to fight this Zamasu? Not her?" Mai asked, pulling the question out of the myriad that she wanted to ask.

Trunks faced her, "I am."

Steely determination crossed his face, "And I am going to win."

I watched as Vegeta raised his hand to the sky and released a massive Ki Blast. It took 23 seconds to clear Pluto's orbital path.

It was time to call Zamasu here, and he used his energy instead of Trunks wasting his before the fight.

It didn't take long.

The hole Vegeta pierced in the clouds began to glow with golden light and the Divine Ki that Zamasu wielded was fully on display. I hadn't had a chance to get accustomed to his energy, yet it was obvious that this was him.

"Well, if that doesn't get his attention, I don't know what will," Goku said.

Zamasu's Ki-enhanced voice boomed across the sky, "Ahhh, more foolish mortals for me to...do away with."

From the center of the golden light, a smaller pillar of Ki shot down and was maintained as Zamasu's smirking form floated down through it.

I shook my head at the pompous fool, he had no idea what Trunks was bringing to the table.

Zamasu looked directly at Goku and he realized that it wasn't his counterpart, "Where is he? I feel the remnants of his Divine Energy...yet, he is not here?"

Trunks laughed, I snorted lightly, and even Vegeta smirked.

"Goku Black, or Zamasu, has been Destroyed," Trunks said.

Zamasu stopped descending and began to float closer to us as his smirk fell.

"He didn't just get Destroyed either. He was beaten and brought down to our level. Made to feel...like a mortal," Trunks said.

Zamasu stared at Trunks, his hateful and condescending gaze grew fierce, "You lie, mortal."

Trunks laughed and looked at me. I stared at Zamasu as I held the Time Ring his counterpart wore.

He stared at the ring for all too long. I put it away and kept staring at him.

His eyes narrowed as he looked back into my eyes. He didn't speak, he didn't blink, he just stared with fires burning in his eyes.

"The truth doesn't matter though, Zamasu, I am going to put you down. Just like your buddy," Trunks said.

Zamasu's face snarled and snapped to Trunks, but he stared for a moment and his anger disappeared to a calm certainty, "He was my comrade in a righteous crusade. One that I have dreamed of for years. You, defeating him only confirms my resolve."

"It doesn't matter."

"What did you say?" Zamasu said with shock.

"Nothing you care about will matter by the end of the day."

"You think you can stop me?" Zamasu said, arrogance showing. "MY DREAMS WILL BE MADE MANIFEST! A PERFECT AND JUST UTOPIAN EXISTENCE!"

Trunks scoffed, "You can dream all you like, we are done talking."

Zamasu didn't move to attack, but Trunks powered up.

Zamasu's eyes opened wide in surprise as Trunk's hair and aura turned blue. The firey blue Divine Ki around him burst forth and I could feel his presence reaching amazing heights.

Far higher than Zamasu's power level.

"You dare to step into the realm of the Divine!? You Saiyans are truly a disgusting race. I shall cleanse-" Zamasu was cut off by Trunks appearing in front of him.

I couldn't sense it directly, but I am sure that Trunks used Spirit Control to attack Zamasu's reserves. The plan was to only start tearing his Ki away in small doses until the fight gets going.

Zamasu tanked the combination of punches and a knee, not defending himself at all.

When he was roundhouse kicked so hard that he was partially buried in the concrete ground he finally responded, "Muahahaha, yes, use your energy to strike a divine being. You will be removed before my paradise is complete."

Zamasu got up and formed his Ki-Blade and wasted no time as he flew at Trunks.

Trunks pulled his sword from his back and parried 5 swipes from Zamasu, then counter-attacked when he dodged the 6th strike. Zamasu tried to block it before realizing he didn't need to. The blade cut through Zamasu's chest and clothes, but there wasn't even a mark on his invulnerable body as the wound healed incredibly fast.

The dual grew in intensity and Trunks quickly replaced his blade in its sheath and powered up further.

This was nothing like the fight I remembered from the show. Trunks was overwhelming in his strikes, even if no damage showed his spirit control was starting to take effect. His power level eclipsed Zamasu and it was clear to see that Zamasu hadn't figured out that Trunks was removing his Ki.

I thought it was odd that Zamasu either didn't care or didn't realize that he was slowly losing energy. It could be attributed to his attitude or outlook, but it doesn't matter in the end.

Trunks allowed Zamasu's Ki Blade to pass by him, forming a ball of Ki to deflect it. He then shoved his hand forward and released the blast directly into Zamasu's chest.

He STILL didn't notice. That strike had removed nearly an entire percent of Zamasu's reserves. Zamasu snarled and his Ki spiked in power as he drew more energy forth.

His Ki Blade came straight for Trunk's chest, but he was ready and pinned the blade between his hands, stopping it inches from his chest.

Zamasu needed no other invitation to condescend to Trunks, "How disappointing you ungrateful and barbaric creatures are. The gods gave you minds capable of true wisdom and you waste it on self-interest and war."

"YOU DARE TALK TO ME ABOUT RIGHT AND WRONG!? After everything, YOU HAVE DONE TO MY PLANET!?" Trunks unleashed a devastating series of punches, his Ki driving into Zamasu's spirit causing ruptures and Ki bleed. His strikes seemed to lock onto Zamasu's body, constantly finding openings and weak points.

While Zamasu is a martial artist, his true strength is in his invulnerability. We had all worked to improve Trunk's fighting ability and his dedication of the 6 months inside the Hyper Bolic Time Chamber was paying off.

Zamasu's weakness was in his Spirit Control. He didn't have anything beyond basic Ki manipulation and it was immediately obvious that he didn't realize what Trunks was doing to him.

The melee continued with Trunks beginning to overwhelm Zamasu's actions. With one devastating blow, Trunks began to seriously chip away at Zamasu's Ki reserves.

Zamasu was able to block once and tried to go for a core-stab wound on Trunk's chest.

The blade stopped when it impacted. It didn't pierce and the harsh gaze of Zamasu was baffled and outraged as it bounced off.

"This is my world Zamasu, you're time is coming to an end."

Zamasu held only hatred as he stared at Trunks.

But Trunks wasn't finished, "Just like your partner."

"I AM DIVINITY MADE PERFECT! I HAVE TAKEN GODHOOD TO A NEW LEVEL!" Zamasu roared, his voice empowered by rage-filled Ki. His composure was lost and he went into a wild series of predictable attacks, lasting as long as Trunks willed it to.

"Divinity made perfect...the body worthy of a Kai. One that is invincible."

"Wow, he's really lost it hasn't he?" Goku asked from next to me.

Vegeta smirked and gave a small laugh of agreement.

"Let's be ready to intercept attacks if he decides to try and destroy the earth or something," I said.

"We are between him and the base, right?" Goku asked.

I nodded, hoping that Zamasu kept his attention on Trunks at least.

"Your strength will not save you," Zamasu said, his tone resolved in his path. "You will be cleansed like the rest of the mortals in every universe."

"Shut up!" Trunks said, his anger rising.

Trunks fell into a slight rage, but the problem was that he stopped using Spirit Control to attack Zamasu's energy. The damage was nonexistent.

Zamasu laughed as Trunks slammed him into the ground.

Zamasu continued to laugh as Trunks unloaded an obscene amount of punches as they dug deep into the ground.

Each strike shook the planet, sending shockwaves of Ki cascading through the ground and sky.

A bulbous building fell in the distance.

Zamasu spoke once Trunk caught his breath, "DON'T YOU SEE SAIYAN? Can't you see?! I am perfection! I am divine wrath! And I AM COMING FOR YOU!"

Zamasu stood up and appeared in front of Trunks, his Ki blade now stuck firmly within his stomach.

"JUST LIKE I KILLED YOUR MOTHER! JUST LIKE I CLEANSED SO MANY GODS! YOU WILL ALL SUFFER AND PERISH BY MY HAND!" Zamasu's maniacal voice rang out.

Trunks stopped moving. The words slowly sinking in.

It was like the effort he just expended was refilled as Trunks found a new spark to ignite his Ki.

He breathed heavily, his words coming between gasps, "You are disgusting, Zamasu."

"Disgusting? Me? I AM PERFECTION!" Zamasu flew forward and finally showed some serious martial skill, breaking past Trunks' defense and going for another stab.

This one came right at his neck.

I didn't realize how fast the fight turned until Vegeta appeared next to Trunks. He blocked the deadly attack and threw a kick into Zamasu's chest. The insane Kai went flying.

Vegeta gave a quick glance to Trunks then flew after Zamasu.

I moved as fast as I could to get to Trunks. His energy was starting to wane and the gut wound he had was starting to bleed, despite being mostly cauterized. I shoved healing into it and the Ki burns and internal bleeding.

"You let him get under your skin," I said as his eyes focused on me.

He was just breathing heavily as his body slowly relaxed under my healing. The clashes and explosions of Vegeta and Zamasu seemed distant, yet the planet shook.

"I-I know..." his frustration was palpable.

I finished healing him and slapped his chest, "You're good for now. I am going to use a bit of my Spirit Fire to burn some of his Ki away, all you need to do is launch him at me, alright?"

Despite his anger, he chuckled lightly but nodded. He stood up and breathed deep for a moment, "Right, I will send him your way."

I let him gather himself and moved away from where Goku was still floating.

Goku moved to me, "Is he alright, Chiyo?"

"Yeah, he's just gotta maintain his cool so he can continue to drain Zamasu's Ki."

My dad nodded, "Usually anger can help with power."

"But power isn't the problem here, it's all about his mental state. He has to remain calm."

Goku had a thoughtful look on his face, "This is that Ultra Image Technique you and Merus were talking about?"

I laughed, "No, it was Ultra Instinct. Which is letting your mind be calm and allowing your instinctual reactions to guide you. It is a divine transformation that can only be accessed by gods. Once it is mastered, you can turn the defensive aspect around into an offensive style."

"Ahh, that sounds awesome!" Goku said.

I smiled and watched as Vegeta and Zamasu fought across the sky, clouds being blasted back and shockwaves causing structures to further collapse.

"FATHER! IT IS MY TURN AGAIN!"

I could almost feel Vegeta's scoff. But he knew more than anyone how important it was for Trunks to seize victory for everyone here.

Either way, Vegeta flew back down to us and Zamasu just stared down balefully at us.

"ZAMASU!" Trunks yelled as he pointed a finger right at him, "I am going to defeat you right here and now!"

There were no words from Zamasu, he just attacked after Vegeta retreated.

Trunks blocked as his power grew, yet he remained calm.

Zamasu was still using his Ki blade, pressing his advantage. Yet the same sort of combinations that led to him breaking Trunks' defenses weren't working.

Trunks' was blocking, deflecting, and dodging each attack Zamasu threw his way. It was only after about a minute of exchanges that Trunks switched to the offensive.

His devastating blow landed right in the solar plexus. Regardless of Zamasu's invulnerability, the wind was still knocked out of him. Trunks smashed his knee into Zamasu's chin as he doubled over, each strike was followed by a surge of Spirit Controlled Ki that entered Zamasu's body. Each strike seemed to knock some of his energy out, releasing it in the blast of his impact point.

Trunks put Zamasu into an armbar, keeping the blade away from him. He wrenched Zamasu's arm around and used it as a fulcrum to power slam him into the ground.

He unleashed a flurry of blows, Zamasu's body just bouncing with each hit, his Ki blasting away.

Zamasu flared his Ki and stood, blasting Trunks' back.

His demeanor had changed yet again, going from fanatical narcissism to seething rage. It didn't stop Trunks, his Super Saiyan Blue transformation only growing stronger since I healed him.

He appeared behind Zamasu and grappled him easily, throwing his body like a rag doll, "CHIYO! INCOMING!"

I immediately powered up and stepped forward as Zamasu's body was flying at me, I did him the favor of stopping him with a knee to his back. He folded like a car around a light pole.

I grabbed him by the face, my grip enough to part his jaw and distort his features as I broke his bones. I slammed Zamasu's head into the ground and unleashed the strongest blast of Spirit Fire I had ever released.

Silvery-red flames slammed down his throat and his eyes went wide as I burned his Ki away. I think he knew what was happening now, his Ki blade dissipated and his energy began to ignite.

I stared into his eyes, my expression as cold and unfeeling as I could make it. He looked back but he wasn't seeing anything. The eyes were vibrating in pain. He couldn't scream because of the Spiritual Flames searing his soul and throat.

I burned nearly half of his remaining Ki away before he was able to break my grasp. He pulled enough energy to form the Ki blade in his other hand and I had to release his face and back off.

Trunks' was about to re-enter the fight but Goku wasn't having it, "MY TURN!"

Goku flew in, striking Zamasu's chest and face nearly a dozen times, following up with a roundhouse kick and a quick Ki Blast. It sent Zamasu flying at Vegeta.

He smirked, throwing a devastating elbow to the back of Zamasu's head. The hit caused the demented Kai's head to slam face-first into the ground.

Vegeta lifted his right leg and slammed his foot down, hitting the same spot on the back of his head. The force caused a massive crater to form around Zamasu's body. Vegeta pulled him up by his ankle and threw him back at Trunks, the body rag-dolling as it flew threw the air.

Trunks impacted Zamasu's body with an elbow, followed by a Ki blast, "MASENKO! HAAAAAAH!"

I noticed that his Ki had been activated with his Spirit Control, and Zamasu's power level slowly dropped as a result. He hadn't ever been very good at distance activation, yet he had just done it with more precision and effectiveness.

Zamasu regained his senses as he was flying into the air. He recentered himself, but his rage was taking over his zealous mind.

"You, disgusting Saiyans DARE to commit this sacrilege!"

Trunks yelled up to him, "It's not about gods or mortals. YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN ANYTHING BUT YOURSELF!" Trunks said. "This is the power of mortals! The power of believing in something greater than you!"

Zamasu scoffed as Trunks invited all of us to attack at the same time.

Zamasu floated between the four of us and Trunks started first, "FINAL FLASH!"

Vegeta charged, "GALLICK GUNNNN!"

Goku also got involved, "KAAAAAA Meeeeehhhh HAAAAA MEEHHHHHHH HAAAAAAAA!"

I felt I needed to respond in kind.

Building up a massive amount of Divine Ki from my human side, the bloodline of the Fire Mountain stirred with excitement within me. The Ki built up deep within my throat and I screamed as I released a torrent of flames like some primordial dragon.

The scarlet silver flames, the Zen Fire or Spirit Fire bloodline within me ignited the very air around us.

The Ki attacks from the other Saiyans were all beams, but not mine. It was an avalanche of Ki-burning fire. It cut through everything as Zamasu tried to hold a shield against the onslaught of Ki attacks.

My Spirit Fire rejoiced in the devastation. With the Ki from all of us there to burn, the flames took over and covered Zamasu.

"AAAAAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Zamasu screamed in horror and pain as his Ki was forcefully drained. His Ki melted away and his eyes opened wide.

"NOOO!" Zamasu cried out.

His body fell to the ground, still covered in Spirit Flames, but he stopped screaming in pain.

He stopped moving as well.

We all closed in on him, this body still invulnerable everywhere except for the eyes...which were black and burned out as if they were a part of his soul.

Trunks caught his breath, making eye contact with me. A huge smile broke out on his face, "We did it!"

I smiled back at him, rushed over, gave him a hug, and spoke into his ear, "Your world is free now Trunks."

Mai had been watching the fight with the same disbelief she had felt since Trunks returned. Starting with how Goku Black had been defeated in another timeline. The implications of that are astonishing, but she had larger concerns for the time. Mainly, trying to save what little humanity remained.

Trunks' was so different after coming back, but the world of powered individuals was something Mai hadn't really dealt with until she and Trunks met. She knew who he was, of course, being the son of Bulma and the successor of Capsule Corp. But that was nothing compared to the first time she saw him stand against Black.

There seemed to be no way to damage the genocidal maniac. Bullets, rockets, bombs...nothing had any effect against him.

Trunks did have an effect though. He had the ability, no, the power to damage Black. The problem was that each time he did, Black just got stronger.

Bulma's time travel plan had worked, more or less. Trunks came back, stronger and ready to save this world. He had told her his plan to bring everyone back. Well, not his plan but rather Chiyo's as she had some kind of ability to see things others couldn't. That was all the description Trunks gave her before Chiyo literally healed everyone with her powers.

It was overwhelming.

She watched as all of the fighters, Trunks, and Chiyo included, unleashed attacks that shook the earth. It was terrifying and amazing at the same time.

The corpse of the evil Zamasu fell to the ground, eyes burned out. The group of saviors met next to his body and celebrated. Chiyo put it in a capsule and pocketed it.

She was pulled from her thoughts as people began to stream outside, but Bulma warned her only to let a few of her trusted men out. Mai looked confused, but the younger Bulma had told her to trust. So she did.

A group of nearly 20 soldiers, and even Yajirobe all walked up to the surface. The area was even more destroyed, if possible. The rubble from countless buildings was almost cleared around the main area where they were fighting. Instead, there were massive craters and destruction from the fight.

Mai watched as the strange old green guy, a Namekian, handed a Capsule over to Chiyo. She nodded at him, a quick exchange of words before she threw it out.

"Brace yourself for this Mai, it is a unique experience," Bulma whispered as she leaned over. Trunks was standing next to his father and Goku, but saw them both and walked over.

"Mai! Mom! We did it!" Trunks said, smiling from ear to ear.

"Of course you did! You were prepared!" Bulma said, pulling her son into a hug.

Mai wasn't about to miss this opportunity. The same soft heart she loved was still beating within Trunks' chest. She pulled him into a hug of her own and whispered in his ear, "Nice going soldier! I always believed in you."

When the hug broke Trunks had red cheeks as he looked into her eyes. He was about to say something when they were all interrupted.

"Eternal Dragon! By your name, I summon you forth! Rise, Toronbo!" Chiyo said, her arms wide as she spoke in a ritual chant.

The two golden orbs on the ground began to glow, brighter and brighter until a massive beam of golden light sparked upwards.

It morphed into a massive dragon, with axolotl-type features.

The dragon seemed to stutter before speaking, looking around curiously, "This isn't the timeline I was bound to originally."

The booming voice of the dragon seemed to shake Mai's soul as it spoke.

Monaito the Namekian stepped forward next to Chiyo.

"Indeed, mighty Toronbo. I am taking the role of Guardian to this world. I have brought you with me," Monaito said.

The dragon stared down and seemed to nod in respect, "I understand, now...speak your wishes."

Monaito turned to Chiyo.

She looked up to the dragon, unfazed by his presence, "I wish for you to restore everything destroyed by Zamasu."

The dragon's eyes flashed and everything went white.

After our surroundings instantly reverted to a whole and pristine West City, there was only one more wish to make.

The first wish I had would fix the planet and all other places affected by Zamasu's genocidal spree. The second would bring back the people.

It was just difficult to do since we were now standing within a building that had reformed around us. Thankfully, no weird displacement or anything happened.

"Uhhh, can you hear me Toronbo?"

"Yes," was the dragon's reply, from the other side of a wall.

"Right...My second wish is to bring everyone back to life since the Androids attacked, this excludes those who accepted death and those who were evil in nature or actions. As part of this wish, I would like everyone to be made aware of the events that had happened since they died, to better help acclimatize everyone, but I would like the pain and memory of their deaths to be vague," I said.

But I felt Trunks look at me with wide eyes.

Yes, I wanted to bring back Gohan, but I know he accepted death so I would have to use the final wish to appeal directly to him.

"Your wishes have been granted," Toronbo said.

And he dispersed.

I felt it happen, the world lit up with beautiful light. Millions of people that had been slaughtered had been brought back to life. Everyone who felt their deaths were undeserved or unwanted...everyone who wasn't evil...they all came back.

Except Gohan.

My failure to bring him back was...surprising but I should have accepted it. He went after the androids with the intention of dying.

He had made peace.

I found myself staring at the ground, wondering how I could have failed to bring my brother back.

I kept searching the world with my Ki, life signs of normal people popping up like watching a time-lapse of vegetation sprouting. But it felt empty as I searched for Gohan.

I really wanted to bring him back but it wasn't in the cards it seems.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. My dad's voice, filled with concern and compassion spoke to me, "Hey, what's the matter Chiyo?"

I leaned into my Dad, who seemed surprised by my hug, but I had wet cheeks as tears ran down my face, "Gohan...he didn't want to come back."

"Ah, well that's up to him, isn't it? We can't control others and their journey. He made peace right?" Goku said, happy tone coming back in.

I nodded against my dad's chest, "You're right, I just really wanted to meet him...he has gone through so much and is way different from our Gohan."

I knew it was foolish of me to feel guilty or depressed about it...but I feel that way all the same. It was even more than that too, extending my senses I couldn't feel a single Z Fighter. It seems that none of them had been willing to come back since they died so long ago.

We defeated Zamasu and restored the timeline as best as we could and still, I felt like it wasn't enough.

Things progressed all the same.

Trunks burst into Tears as he and Mai embraced the newly revived Bulma. Mai was a bit reserved at first, but Bulma wasn't having it and pulled her into a hug.

Future Bulma also had to look away from Vegeta as her eyes went wide at seeing him, but he just smirked at her and didn't engage.

Within an hour, what remained of the government under a flustered King Furry had found a way to contact Bulma. She of course was brought back along with everyone else.

A press conference was in order and I convinced Bulma, Trunks, and Mai to go speak with King Furry. I am sure that Trunks and Mai have had enough stress in life as is, but it will be good for the world to see their faces after the fighting.

Camera crews and reporters arrived at our location after a bit of time. With a bit of nudging, Trunks explained everything that had happened since most of the world's population had been killed, being extremely vague about how people were brought back. He implied that the Earth had received a second chance due to the circumstances of how everything happened and most people seemed to believe that or were thankful enough to not say anything.

The day was declared a worldwide holiday in remembrance of those who hadn't come back and those who fought to bring this second chance.

The world had much less in it, but more than what would have happened had we not intervened.

Had we not won this world would be wiped clean of all sentient life, but we did win.
