In the last chapter we had seen the funeral of pyrrha and tanner in argus. Though it seems both jaune and rogue have a new goal in life against team BRAS.RWBY belongs to Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. I own the OC's, AU. Hope you enjoy!

Chapter 4 orange:Grief

Rogue was running throught he streets of vale city as she cut down any grimm that stood in her way as she looked for someone or several people within the city. She slcied down another grimm in her way but that is when she saw Beacon Acadmey. She noticed three people standing their at the entrance of the academy. Tanner mckay shotgun blast a grimm away. While Zane Grave jammed his revolver into its the mouth before shooting it. While Pyrrha nikos sliced off a grimm head.

"Guys!"a rogue called out as the three looked toward her as they smiled.

"Hey firestrater,'' Zane said, giving a cheeky grin.

"Their is my favrotie tinker, '' Tanner added with a big smile.

"Rogue are you okay wheres eria?"pyrrha said as rogue titled her head.

"I don't know but lets go look for her"rogue replied

"I'm sure she fine probably with woflie"zane replied

"Yeah you know ice queen always brudding somewhere."tanner added

"Yes, her and everyone are fine"pyrrha added

"What are you talking about we need to find her then get out of her before anythign happens"rogue replied as she began to walk away from them. But then she bumped into someone as she landed flat on her back.

She rubbed her head as she looked up in shock to see her uncle dravan standing their with his morning star mace.

"Hey their my favorite niece"dravan said offering his right hand. Rogue smiled as she grabbed her uncle right hand.

"Uncle dravan what are–"rogue begun but then looked at her hand as a floating severed arm was their. She let go instantly as she looked up seeing her uncle rotten.

Then she immedaitly turned to see tanner with a large stab wound in his chest. He had blood on his mouth as it seeped from it, as he smiled.

Half of zanes bodie was in his monster form as he looked at her. Their was blood all over his face as he had a stab wound in his heart.

While Pyrrha looked at her as their was a large stab wound in her chest as blood seeped from it and coming from her mouth.

"You were weak. You can't save anyone"tanner said as his voice became dark and his eyes shifted to red as her cornea changed color. He began walking with a crooked grin on his face.

"Yeah, run from the monster of Beacon ''Zane said as his jaw cracked a little as he spoke. He growled a little as one of his eyes changed crimson red. And he spreaded his fingers as talons emerged on them.

"Why didn't you save me?"pyrrha asked as her voice became dark as her eyes changed color as well.

Rogue backed up scared and soon into her uncle dravan. She slowly turned looking upwards. Their she saw his face half rotten away as worms crawled out of his mouth and nose along with maggots.

"You killed me. Shoudln't have never come to the village and maybe I wouldn't have to defend you"dravan said in a dark voice.

Rogue stumbled backward as she fell to the ground. She looked at the four people she lost as she covered her ears not wanting to listen to it. Then before she knew it her right arm felt light as she looked to see it sliced off.

Before she could react her ears began to hurt as blood seeped from them like her eardrums brusted.

"Please stop!"rogue shouted as she tried to scoot away from them. But then her partner bite down on her leg as he tore it off. He spat it out as soon his form changed into his monster grimm form growling at her.

Pyrrha stepped forward smiling at Rogue as she layed her hand on rogue chest where her heart was. Before she knew she felt a sudden pain in her chest. Then she slowly looked up as pyrrha held Rogue heart in her hand as it thumped.

"Now die"pyrrha said calmly as she crushed rogue heart.

Rogue eyes shot opened as she rose from her bed in fright swet coming down her face as she was breathing rather heavily as she looked outside and noticing it was still rather dark out. She checked herself over to make sure nothing had happened to especially her ears, right arm, right leg and heart. She breathed a sigh of relief happy it was all their.

Then she looked outside her window and noticed that it was still dark out but she noticed her clock read five twelve. No point in going back to sleep so she decided to wake up from her sleep as she got herself out of bed and dresses. She grabbed her weapons nearby and sheathed she grabbed ember on a nearby desk clipping her on.

Seeing she has nothing better to do she thought it be a good idea to go out for a bit and take care of some grimm that is outside the city. She made sure to leave a note for her parents. After leaving a note she headed out of the house.

She shivered a little from the cold but didn't let it bother her as she began making her way toward the entrance of the city where she knew grimm would be waiting in the woods. She needed something to get her head out of the nightmare she had. After walking around a little bit she slowly made her way toward the entrance when she walked pased by the park she noticed someone starting to start some construction.

She decided to ignore it as she walked onward but she stopped having the feeling a couple people were following her.

"Go back home Merc and Emerlad"rogue said not even turning to face the two that followed her.

"Where are you going this late at night?"Eemrald aksed with some worry on her face.

"Its nothing you two need to worry about"rogue simply answered.

"Really sunshine because it looks like you're heading toward the woods outside of town. May I ask why?"mercury questioned.

Rogue clenched her right hand into a fist"none of your dam business"rogue growled.

"Kinda is blondie. I don't want to see you get hurt or worse you ending up getting yourself killed. Your mom and dad wouldn't be very happy about it,especially Eria."mercury replied which started to annoy rogue.

"Leave me the hell alone. You aren't coming with me. I need to get my mind off some things. So go back to the house. Now"rogue said firmly.

Emerald sighed as this as she pressed"look Rogue…right now your letting your grief over what happened to Tanner,Pyrrha and Zane take you over. The soon you accept this the easier it'll be. Come on were just worried about you"emerald siad but that didn't sit well with her.

"Do you wanna know something? I lost my uncle Dravan on the same day as those three…the same dam day. When he died my dad said the sooner we acept thing the easier it will be. My first best friend lost his life saving me because I was weak. "Rogue begun as her voice broke slightly.

"Now my partner, my leader…praticuly someone I could call family at this point. He went off and killed himself…saying sorry…for what making this day hurt even worse. And now my other best friend…someone i've known for most of my life…someone that I looked up to gone…all of them"rogue said as her voice broke.

"Every time around this year it seems…I lose someone close to me. Right now…I just wanna be left alone"rogue replied as she began to walk forward.

Mercury sighed as he placed a hand on her shoulder to try and stop her"at least let us come with you. I don't want you getting hurt"merucyr said but she shoved mercury hand away from her shoulder before turning her head and glared at Mercury.

"Just leave me the hell alone!"rogue shouted which made the two step backa bit from raising her voice.

Soon enough a familiar fire spirit emerged from the gauntlet on rogue hip. She yawned a little wondering were she was.

"Jeez that little trick I did knocked me out where–"ember begun before examining Mercury and Emerald gaze. Then she looked down as he nonexistent eyes widden. She looked at Rogue who had a look of sadness and anger on her face.

"What happened kid?"Ember asked, like a mother it seems.

"None of your business old hag"rogue retorted shocking ember a little who looked annoyed

"Uhh rude why are you so grouchy?"ember aksed confused.

"Umm Ember you might not wanna say that"emerald pointed out as the fire spirit was confused.

Rogue glared at ember before detaching the guanlent from her hip. She grabbed it before throwing it to the ground. Ember rolled a little while the gauntlet rolled to mercury feet. He slowly picked it up with a worried look at Rogue.

Ember looked mad but she got a better look at rogue. She was shaking with fury in her eyes. Both her fist clneched as a few tears escaped her eyes. Before they could answer she turned aorund walking around from them.

"Go back to the house…i'll be back soon"rogue replied as she walked away from them.

They watched with worry as Ember wondered exactly what happened.

"What happened?"ember asked concerned looking at the two.

Mercury sighed heavily"She just lost three people very close to her…now she wants revenge"mercury said which worried Ember a little.

"God dammit kid, don't make the same mistake I did"Ember muttered which peeked the two interest. But for now they wanted to go after her but if they did she would only get angerier. So they decided to leave her and hope that she was going to be okay at whatever she was going to do.

An hour past as Rogue ripped through another grimm with her axe like it was nothing as it evaprotated into dust. Another grimm charged at her with vigor trying to avanege its fallen friend. Rogue lowered her axe as it got close she lifted it up high burying it into its jaw.

Then she pulled it out before burying it into the beast skull killing it. It soon fell to the ground evaporaitn to the ground.

"And thats forty"rogue thought counting how many grimm she killed thus far.

Rogue looked around her as she breathed heavy and thought more would show up but to her dismay no more appeared. She must have defeated all the ones in this area. She knew she wasn't far form the city and with the sun starting to rise from the deicded to rest a little by a tree as she sat down placing her weapon down near her.

Slowly everything started to come down as the weight of all her emotionally pain was getting to her as tears started to form in her eyes. The tear streamed down her face as she silently cried wrappined her arms around herself letting out a whimper.

"I'm sorry Pyrrha…tanner…zane…uncle dravan….I wasn't strong….I couldn't save you"Rogue cried her tears flowing freely from her face.

She wanted nothing more than to hide herschelf in the dakr and not come out. She just wanted to be left alone but didn't want to leave her family or make them worry about her. She got up from her spot as she decided to head back before she could she heard something coming toward her as the bushes russled. She picked up inferno and readied herself for whatever was coming.

Suddenly a familiar and large paw swung at her sending her flying near the forest opening. She rolled on the ground as her aura took the hit for her. She got up from the ground as she saw what attacked her. It was a manticore grimm as it came walking out of the forest before letting out a roat. She went to grab her axe but noticed it was buried in the tree she was at. So now she had no weapon as the manticore grimm stared her down.

It flapped it wings before charging at it prey as it was looking for the kill. Rogue seeing this avodied the charge as he rolled out of the way. Since she was out of the she tired to make a dahs toward her weapons but the grimm was apperently smarter than she gave it credit as it turned around and charged at her again as it back handed her sending her flying at a tree hitting it rather hard.

She slowly got up shaking it off as she was starting to get mad. She reached for her side and felt nothing their. Then she looked down remembering she left ember back with mercury and emerald. She sighed as she got up and moved her hands around clockwise.

Then from the ground as she activated her semblance a pool of lava appeared underneath the beast paws. It roared in pain as it flapped its wing to float in the air. But rogue twisted her wrist as rock like spike shot up from the lava impaling it wings as it roared in pain.

Rogue smiled as she began to casually walk over to her axe. She got over their as the grimm roared in pain and she pulled at it. It was stuck in their pretty good and she was weak right now. But as she did the manticore tore part of its wing off as it looked toward its prey.

Before rogue knew it the beast charged at her and she felt something slash her back. She could feel its claw swipe at her back as she roared in pain feeling the claw dig into her skin falling to a knee. The grimm looked at it fallen prey ready to bite down on it.

Rogue only could tell that she was hurt but she didn't know how bad it was and she probably had a gut feeling it was pretty bad. She could tell the grimm was getting close and her weapon were nowhere to be seen. She began to weep a little as her aura finally shattered it seems. The blonde looked at her impending fate as her vision started to get blurry. But before she did she saw three figures rushing at the grimm. One was green, another silver and one white, but she soon blacked out.

Her vision began coming back as she was suddenly staring at a white ceiling and she also noticed that mercury was nearby with his eyes closed. Ember was also on a small desk next to her. She looked outside noticing it was almost the afternoon. She heard a beeping noise from the heart monitor near her and an iv drip just next to it.

The door soon opened to reveal a doctor with a clipboard in his hands.

"Ah your awake. That a good sign. How are you feeling?"the doctor asked

"Just a little dizzy"rogue replied

"Well the way you came in here its nothing new. Your lucky him and two others brought you here. You lost some blood on the way here but luckily we stbalized you and your aura took over healing the wounds. Now what were you doing their in the forest so early?he asked

"I was taking a walk..then that thing ambushed me and I tried to fight back"rogue answered as she lied about her outing.

"Well your very lucky then. It they dug any further you'd be paralyse"he replied

Soon mercury woke up as he rubbed his eyes and saw rogue awake as well.

"I'm just here to check on your wounds. If they're well enough you can be discharged from here. Can you sit up for me?"he asked as Rogue done what he asked sitting up from her hospital bed.

"Could you lift the back of the down please?"the doctor asked. Rogue slightly hesitated about that as she didn't do it immediately.

"Don't worry. It nothing that I haven;t seen before in my profession before from female patients"he said but it did reassure her a little. But her boyfriend was her and she was a little embarrassed to have him here. But she relucnetanly did it as she lifted the the back of her gown.

Mercury got to take a closer look for himself at the damage that was done to his girls back. Then he and the doctor noticed that while the wound had healed from the grimm attack there was going to be some scarring as three slash marks were present.

"Alright lower your gown"he replied as Rogue did just that as her face was bright red from embarrassment. However before he said anything else a noise came from the outside.

"Ma'am I can't let you in here without permission from the head nurse"a female voice said

"Move the hell out of my way! That is my daughter my other one just woke up and I demand to see her first right now!"another female voice said familiar to Rogue and Mercury.

Bursting throught the door was a rather frazzled Calida Hayley as she was breathing rather hard.

"I'm terrible sorry sir she got past me along with another man I tried to stop–"the female nurse said but he raised a hand to stop her.

"Its fine nurse.I can take it from here"the doctor replied as the nurse walked off knowing that he'll handle the situation.

"What is the problem Miss Hayley?how can I help"he asked calmly.

Caldia looked toward her daughter as she shrunk inward on herself well knowing she was in trouble. Buit caldia then replaced her expression with a big grin.

"How is she? Nothing major I hope"calida asked

"Well we have to give her a blood transfusion to stablize her but luckily her aura healed the injuries on her bac but they will unfortunaly leave a scar which will be permanent. Other than that she in perfect health. Though your other daughter seems to be stable since she woke up right now. But i suggest gently taking her back home. She should be good to leave right now as well."the doctor replied

"Wonderful, I'm sure my husband is bringing her over to her sister right now. Can I sign their discharge papers"calida said calmly as the doctor nodded leadding her out of the room.

"I should've known this would happen"rogue said well knowing what will happen.

"Really you weren't expecting your mom to erupt on you?"mercury smuggly asked as he crossed his arm.

"Look I was stupid to go alone I just.."rogue paused but couldn't come up with something.

Soon a familiar fire spirit emerged next to her"that you want no one to see you cry dear"ember said knowingly.

"Umm yeah I guess so"rogue added not really surprised by the women emerging from that glove anymore.

Ember sighed as she looked at her"I've been their, and I know it all too well"she admitted as the two looked at her.

"What do you mean by that?"mercury question as Ember seemed to sigh as her form flciekred a little.

"You know the story about how a jealous man murdered my entire family. He killed them all while I just watched trapped in this dam glove. Once he was finished all that was left was my little girl who was someone I truly cared was going to kill her next,you wanna know what I did to him?"ember begun as the two listened.

"Ummm what?"Rogue hesitantly asked because how she said it suggested it was something terrible.

Ember sat their quietly for a second"they say people from the town killed him. But in truth…it was me that killed the sorry bastard. I burned him alive while he begged for forgiveness. He suffered for four hours begging for mercy. After that my little girl cryed for her mother that wasn't able to hold her."ember continued as they waited for her to continued

"Grimm eventually came to try and kill her but I protected her.I killed so many grimm for what seemed like hours at that point. But eventually a man came to rescue my little promised to watch over her and make sure she lives a good life. Then when she became older she became a protector of the innocent. Then I watched her die along with others I cared when I killed that blacksmith I regreted it at first, but now I don't"ember said

"Why are you telling us this?"rogue asked

"Don't make the same mistake as I did kid. Letting all this hate consume you will ruin you in the future. It'll be hard to move on but it'll get easier"ember said as Rogue glared at that.

"Yeah totally it gets easier"Rogue scoffed at this. Before anyone said anything else soon the doors open. Rogue looked over to see her sister Eria in a wheelchair with her father jaki pushing her alongside was with the two as well and so was Weiss.

"rogue"Eria said smiling toward her as she was wheel next to her bed side.

Before rogue knew it Eria embraced the lower part of rogue body as she was still in a wheelchair. Rogue smiled as she returned the embrace hugging her twin sister. But a few tears came down her face as she glanced down at her sister missing right leg.

"I'm sorry Eria…I should have been there for you"rogue said

Eria stood back up looking at her with a somber look"its alright..your not the one who did it….I was just too slow"eria said looking down.

Rogue shook her head"it's fine…but…Tanner…and Zane they didn't make it"rogue said weakly as Eria sighed heavily.

Her cold sister seemed to hate that news. Eria clenched her fist because she looked down with dread on her face. Eria sniffed a little as she shut her they said something that seemed to catch their attention.

""That damn snake faunus"eria muttered loud enough for them to hear.

"What did you say?"Mercury asked, looking at her surprised

Emerald went wide eyed at the mention of a snake faunus and she knew who she meant

"Wait Eria…you don't mean"Emerald begun as Eria looked at her.

Eria sniffed a little not even wanting to hide it"Adder was the one who killed showed us a video of him dead in an alleway."eira said as a small tear welled up in her eyes.

Perun looked at her as he gently walked over placing a hand on her shoulder to reasure her evrything will be jaki looked down sighing it seems at hearing that.

Though rogue looked at her twin sister as she had something else to add on to waht she was saying it seems.

"Eria…what else happen?"rogue questioned with worrie in her throat.

Eria sniffed a little before letting a small tear escape her eyes as it hit her lap as she looked up at her sister.

"He had….he had the team picture we took the night before the final round in his hands."eria softly said

Rogue eyes sunk into her skull hearing that he actually thought about them when he passed.. Rogue then gripped her bed sheets tight wanting to scream. That entire team hurt her friends and family.

Scar manipulating her partner and leader, then Adder killing him. Rosemary taking her sisters right leg. She assumed Bonnie was the one who killed Pyrrha. Before she could say anything the doctor came back into the room.

"Well now all the paperwork has been filed and completed. You two will be discharged within an hour though she will be two hours. Lets get started with a release"the doctor replied as Calida placed some new clothing for rogue to change into. While she also had some for Eria.

Like the doctor said it took a couple hours to get everything done as he asked her some basic question and made sure she was okay. He also recommended not doing the same thing again or next time she wouldn't be so lucky. She was discharged from the hospital as the eight of them headed out and began the long walk back home. Perun pushed eria wheelchair through the streets. She wore some thing sweet pants that were light blue in color with a teal long sleeve shirt. Though before they did winter ran into them as she joined them.

Their walk was quiet as none of them said nothing but as they walked Rogue knew she was in trouble when she got back. But along with that she was happy Eria was finally up but was worried about her sister. She looked sad right now probably hurting as well from hearing what happened to the others. After about twenty minutes they were now standing at their front door and were about to walk in.

"Dear why don't you take them inside. I need to talk to our daughter"calida replied as jaki nodded as he helped Eria and emerald joined them along with Perun. With schnee sisters joining her inside.

Then calida turned to face her daughter with a stoic expression.

"Look I know I shouldn't have gone out and made you worry. I was stupid and i'm just we–"rogue said but calida raised a hand to stop her.

"Yes…it was very very stupid for going out that early in the morning. But you only reacted to your emotions that made you do it. You are grieving from losing three very close friends. Two of which you knew for a very long time. The other for almost half a year. To be honest I was expecting you this or you to tinker away."calida said as rogue looked at her.

"Huh….but how did you know i'd do this?"she questioned not sure what to say.

Calida sighed as she took a seat on the stairs to their house. Then she patted the spot next to her for Rogue to join her as she did just that.

"Well, I remember when your uncle died. We were all devstated espeically you. All you did was cry you eyes out while holding that piece of that scarf you made him. But do you remember what your father and sister did?"calida replied

Rogue tried to rack her memory around that day because she pushed some of it to the back of her mind. But it soon came to her.

"That they…came into my room to comfort me. Telling me everything will be okay…then we went out fishing at the docks. Dad was so bad at it along with Eria…..they asked for me to show them since uncle taught me. It seemed to get my mind off things."Rogue said with a small smile.

Calida brought her daughter into an embrace close to her chest not letting her go. She shushed her a little as rogue let a couple tears escape.

"I just miss them…that entire team hurt all of us"rogue said

"I know dear, but right now everything will be alright. They aren't here to hurt you anymore, everything will be okay"calida replied as Rogue returned the embrace. The two got up ready to head inside but Rogue noticed someone walking toward them.

She looked down the street to see jaune walking toward them with something in his hands,it was covered by a sheet. Alongside him was Thetis as the two walked side by side.

"What are they doing here"rogue thought as the two looked at them.

"Thetis what bring you here?"calida asked

"Nothing, I was dropping something off for Jaune. But I ran into him while he was walking over here"thetis replied

"Really, how are you doing miss nikos?"rogue aske concerned.

Thetis took a deep breath as she had a sad look on her face"i'm still hurt, but I still have plenty of things to sort out."thetis replied

"Don't worry miss nikos, I understand what your going through"jaune said as Thetis smiled a little.

"She always said you cared for others like a mother, it seems. Thank you dear"thetis replied

Calida smiled a little as she looked at the two"we have some good news right now though"calida said getting their attention.

Thetis and Jaune were curious what she meant by that. Jaune held the sheet covered object tight as some metal clanked together. Rogue wondered what it was but instead waited to ask.

"Really what happen?"jaune asked

Calida motioned for the two to come inside as they did. Rogue followed the three inside as the two stood silent it seems. The two looked at Eria who was now on a couch with her wheelchair close by.

Jaune smiled a little as he frowned looking at her with regret on his face. Eria looked down a little as she smield at him. But soon he walked over hugging the girl as she returned it. They soon separated as thetis did the same thing.

"Its great to see you awake"thetis said as she sat next to the girl.

"Same here"perun said with a small smile on his face.

"Its great to see you too miss nikos"eria greeted sadly

Jaune stood in front of everyone as he held whatever he had tight. Rogue soon sat down as the group talk for a bit. They talked about how they were all doing right now which wasn't great. But rogue kpet glancing over at jaune wondering what he had.

"Hey Jaune"rogue said getting his attention along with everyone else.

"Yeah Rogue?"juane answered looking at her.

"Whats with the giant sheet?"rogue question.

Jaune stood their for a second before he set the sheet down on the table. Then he began to unfrel it and revealed two familiar items to everyone. Their on the sheet was Pyrrha sword Milo and her Sheild Akouo. Along with her circlet.

Rogue froze looking at them wondering why he had those she looked at him wondering why he had these.

"Umm is that Pyrrha sword and shield?"mercury asked as jaune nodded

"Yeah, Thetis thought I should have these. Since Pyrrha and I cared for each other"jaune said sadly.

"Miss Nikos…I thought you would want to–"Emerald began to say but thetis stopped her.

"I do, but pyrrha would have wanted him or you two to have it"thetis said motioing toward the hayley sisters.

"Thats very sweet of you thetis"calida replied as the red head nodded

"Yes, its nice to have something to remind you of those you lost"jaki added as he looked over near the mantle sighing. Where the mantle was high above on a small rack was a morning star mace. The mace had a black and purple handle swirled around it. The thing was very large but the end of it had a large spike ball on it that was silver in color.

Though eria wasn't paying attention it seems but perun tapped her on the shoulder as she looked up thetis.

"Yes um thank you miss niko"Eria thanked the women but looked down a little.

But something bugged rogue wondering why he brought them only reason he would bring this is to either give them a gift to remind them of pyrrha or something she decided to get to the bottom of why he was here.

"Jaune why did you bring them here?"rogue asked

Jaune slowly walked over picking up both weapon and then walked over to Rogue. Then he knelt down on one knee before presenting milo and Akouo to her. Rogue stared at him frozen solid at what he was doing.

"Pyrrha cared about you two alot, since she gone and she left me these. I want you to help memorilize her where shes by my side at all times. Along with giving you something to remeber her by"jaune said as he presented the items in front of her.

Rogue looked down at the items infront of her studying them. She then placed her hand on akouo looking at her reflection in it. Then she stared at jaune would had his shield with him that pyrrha got him. She smiled a little as she nodded to him.

"I'll get started on these soon…leave your shield too. I'll work on that as well"Rogue said with confidence as Jaune nodded to her. He removed his shield as Rogue looked at her reflection smiling a little. Then she grabbed them and was about to go upstairs to draw some plans and motioend for Jaune to bring it two then walked upstairs to come up with a plan to avenge their dead friends it seems.

Just like in eria volume it seems we've gotten a bit more that was said on her side. Along with that rogue almost nearly died from a grimm attack and seems to be suffering from nightmares. Till next time!
