My Favorite Regret
Chapter Four: Don't You Wanna Stay
Lily stirred as the light of the early afternoon crept across her face. She tried to lay on her back but there was an arm draped across her stomach. She tensed for a moment before her mind cleared. Lily blushed feeling James' erection pressing against her bum. She turned to face him. He looked so peaceful. She was tempted to reach out and touch his face. Despite having criticized his vanity, she always had found him veryattractive. In fact she thought he was better looking than Sirius. Suddenly his arms drew her closer to him and her hands flattened against his chest. His scent filled her senses. Lily was surprised that his cologne didn't upset her like Maddy's perfume did. There were some days when Maddy's perfume made her run for the loo. His scent was soothing to her. She breathed him in and closed her eyes. His hands started caressing her back. She could tell by him breathing he was still asleep. She bit her lip to keep quiet as he started kissing her neck. Each kiss sent heat through her body and butterflies to her stomach. When he started thrusting his hips against hers she knew she had to wake him. "James." She pressed against his chest lightly. "James, wake up."
James opened his eyes to see Lily beside him, looking like a goddess. Her hair was spread over his pillows, glowing in the sunlight that made it resemble fire. Her skin was flushed and her lips a pretty shade of pink. How he wanted to kiss her. He'd been having a dream about her, a sex dream. Averyvivid sex dream. He rolled away from her.
Lily missed his warmth the moment his body heat left her. She turned on her side facing him. "It's okay." She looked at the doors leaving the room. "Um, which door goes to the loo?" She got off the bed and looked over at him expectantly.
James pointed to a door and watched her go. As he looked down he saw the tent of his pants and tried to will away his erection. 'I need a cold shower, ice cold.' As Lily put her shoes back on James used the loo.
Lily had just finished when the door burst open.
"Hey Prongs…" Sirius froze then a wolfish grin appeared. "Good morning Lily Flower." He jumped on the bed next to her.
It reminded her of when she'd had sleep overs as a girl and they would jump on the beds. "Good morning." Lily could tell he assumed that she'd sleep with James. "And before you ask, no we didn't have sex."
Sirius laughed. "You must have, considering you're pregnant."
Lily rolled her eyes. "I meant last night." She tried to keep her nose closed sounding a bit nasal. Whereas James smelled good, Sirius smelled strongly of aftershave.
Sirius noticed. "Are you ill or something?"
Lily shook her head. "No, but your aftershave is very strong."
Sirius lifted an eyebrow. "I've never had any complaints before."
Lily realized he wouldn't know about pregnancy. "I don't think you hang around pregnant women. We have a heightened sense of smell. Add morning sickness to that and it's better to sound nasal than to become ill."
Sirius moved back. "Where's Prongs?"
James stepped out of the loo. "Right here." He said before pushing the sleeves of his shirt up to the elbow. "What's up?"
Sirius looked at Lily then back to James. "Can I have a word in private?"
Lily stood. "I'll wait in the hall." She looked around. "Uh, Which door?"
James grinned and again pointed. "That one. I'll be out in a moment." He waited till the door shut then turned to SIrius. "Alright…"

Lily took a deep breath once she was in the hall. She saw several portraits and walked along them. Most were just curious about her. Then she stood infront of a red haired woman and a man who looked a lot like James. Looking at the woman closer she realized her eyes were just like James'. 'These must be his parents.' She heard the door open and looked up to see James coming towards her. He looked pale. "Is everything alright?"
James frowned. "Sirius dropped a potion and now we're out."
"If you want I can probably make this potion. Do you have the ingredients?" Lily saw panic in his eyes. Then she realized which potion it was. "Is it Remus' potion?"
James' mouth dropped open. "Remus told you?!"
Lily shrugged. "No, I kept hoping he would, but he never did."
"But you know?" At her nod he continued. "And you don't mind?"
Lily gave him a stern look. "Remus is the kindest man I've ever known. I couldn't care less about him being a werewolf for a few hours during full moons."
James brought her hand to his lips. "Thank you."
Lily's eyebrow lifted. "For what?"
James rubbed the knuckles of her hand with his thumb. "For being you."
.::.
Sirius looked at Remus who was suffering greatly from lack of his potion. "I'm sorry mate. We'll figure something out." 'Somehow…' He frowned.
James insisted on cleaning up the potions lab, something about dangerous things. She made her way to Remus' room and knocked. When Sirius cracked the door open blocking her view of Remus she gave him 'the' look. The look all mothers learned to scold their children. "I come bearing a gift." She handed him a vial.
Sirius looked at her incredulously. "Is this…?" He whispered.
Lily nodded. "It'd be best if he takes it now." She heard Remus groan in pain.
Sirius nodded. "Thanks Lily Flower." He shut the door and went to give Remus the potion.
.::.
Lily looked around. She was lost now. Se had been walking along the paintings and now she had no idea where she was. She touched the handle to a room and was about to turn it.
Charles appeared. "Can I help you Miss Evans?"
Lily jumped. He had a booming voice that always seemed to startle her. Her hand fell off the handle. "I'm a little lost."
Charles nodded. "That room is not to be entered, but if you tell me where you would like to go I will escort you."
Lily looked at the dark wood of the door and backed away from it. "I apologize." Her stomach made it known it required food. "Perhaps the kitchen?"
Charles looked surprised. "If you are hungry I can take you to the dining room and the elves can fix you anything you'd like."
"If you don't mind, I'd like to cook." Lily stood her ground.
Charles nodded then turned to lead the way. 'She's got fire, an excellent trait.'
Lily still felt a little put off by Charles. He was courteous, but so damn judgemental. It made her wonder exactly what era he lived in.
"This is the kitchen. If you require further assistance, Mixi will be happy to help you Miss Evans. Good day."
As Charles floated away she felt tempted to say something snide, but she resisted. So she turned and went into the 'larder' which was bigger than the whole first floor of her parents house. She found what she needed and started cooking. She decided on making enough for everyone. It was an easy meal and she was sure that James and Sirius would enjoy it. Maybe Remus would after the full moon. As she cooked she could feel her stomach start to tighten. "Mixi?"
Mixi popped in behind her. "Yes Miss Lily?" Then she saw how pale Lily was. "Are yous okay Miss Lily?"
Lily smiled. "I'm fine, do you know where the ginger tea is?"
Mixi snapped her fingers and the tea was ready in no time. "Are yous sure I can't get Master James for you?"
Lily shook her head and sipped at the tea.
Mixi watched as her color came back more with each sip. She hadn't even noticed Lily was cooking until Lily turned to the stove. As Lily lifted the lid she inhaled the scent. "If I may? Master James is calling."
Lily looked over. "If you would, tell James and Sirius that lunch is served. Thank you Mixi." Mixi disappeared.
Lily got her wand and levitated the serving dish to the table. She smiled as she noticed three place settings. 'Mixi.' She sat down and waited for the boys and drank some more tea.
Sirius was still 3 rooms away when he smelled the food. "Merlin it smells good." He sped up and sat at his usual seat. "Didn't know you could cook Lily Flower."
James sat next to Lily. "In Sirius speak that means if it tastes half as god as it smells then he will propose."
Lily laughed. "What is it with you two and proposing?" She waved her wand and the pasta appeared on the plates. "How is Remus?" She took a bite.
Sirius looked at James. "I can't believe you told her, Remus is going to murder you."
Lily sighed. "I've known since 4th year. About all three of you." At his shocked look she smiled. "You don't give me enough credit."
Sirius shut his open mouth. "You knew? And all this time you didn't say anything?"
Lily's gaze went to her tea looking a bit sad. "I was hoping one day Remus might trust me enough to tell me."
James put his hand on her shoulder and her gaze found him. "Its not about trust, he never tells anyone. Not even us."
Lily managed a small smile. "So how is he doing?"
Sirius swallowed a huge mouthful of pasta. "He's better, but it's going to be a rough one." He looked at the pasta. "This is fantastic!" He swirled a large amount onto his fork and ate it.
Lily laughed as James nodded his mouth full. "You're welcome." She ate almost the whole plate.
Sirius had long since finished and was staring at Lily. "I've never seen you eat so much. OW!" James kicked his shin.
Lily surprised them by laughing. "It's alright, I didn't eat much in school. Ate like a bird my mum always said. When I started taking dance classes, I started to eat more."
Sirius smirked. "What kind of dance classes?"
Lily knew where this was going. "All sorts, comes in handy."
"Really, even exotic dancing?" Sirius moved his legs out of kicking range.
Lily grinned. "Yes even exotic. And when I said it comes in handy, I mean that I teach dance." She pointed at Sirius. "That one's mind is always in the gutter."
Sirius waggled his eyebrow. "Care to give Prongs here a private demonstration?"
James sighed. "Pads, go check on Moony." Sirius left after winking at James.
Lily looked at the clock. "I better go, I have a class in an hour."
James looked at the clock, then back at her. "We still didn't have that talk."
Lily nodded. "I'll come by tomorrow, um, hows 10 o'clock sound?"
James smiled and stood as she did. "Sounds good to me." Lily looked around for a way out and James laughed. "Probably faster if we apparate to your house."
"We?"
James nodded. "There's wards here so you can't apparate in Potter Manor unless we side along. I'll put you in the wards tomorrow." He held out his hand. When she placed her hand in his he pulled her close. "You sure you have to go?" He cupped her cheek and ran his thumb over it.
Lily's mouth was suddenly dry. "I can't. Besides, the lads need you." Her breath caught as he pressed his lips to hers in a burning kiss. She didn't even realized they had apparated until she opened her eyes. "I'll see you tomorrow." She stepped back to put some distance between them. "Goodnight."
James nodded. "Goodnight."
AN: Okay, so it's a little AU. Hopefully not too much. Peter doesn't exist in my story!
