Chapter 7 Orange:Visiting

It was about two weeks now after the city of vale being overrun by grimm. The small island of the patch along with the inhabitants had supplies incase such an event happened. That went for the xioa long household. Inside the cabin Tai was making breakfast for everyone…well almost everyone. His daughter including his niece were worried about their friends right now. They've been in their rooms alot lately.

Everysince ruby woke up from her three day coma shes been devastated lately. Along with some video apprenrently one of her friends sent seemed to make her upset. But him and qrow have been keeping an eye on the two. Raven stayed for a couple days to make sure Yang was okay along with Ruby.

But she had to leave to take care of the tribe back in the Anima. Apparently a week ago a group of their tribe split off from them. Saying how they need to return to the old way of things like they used to be. Qrow went out to grab a few things.

Tai cracked opened a few more eggs and added them into a silket as he also placed some more strips of bacon on another pan.

Then he walked over to the fridge quickly grabbing a carton of milk. He then quickly grabbed a measure cup from the cabinet and measure two cups from the gallon then he poured it into the silket and stirred it.

"Wonder how'll they want their eggs today"tai said to himself.

"Over easy please"a soft voice said behind him. He glanced over his shoulder to see Yang their. She looked a little better it seems. She wore a dark yellow shirt with a grey shirt over it along with some blue jeans as they slightly ripped at the knees.

"Their you are, finally decided to get up sleepy head"tai said as yang nodded to him.

"Yeah has ruby come down yet?"yang asked as she took a seat.

"No. Your the first one up right now"tai replied

Zwei slowly walked over to the blonde as he booped his nose against her leg. Then he looked up at her panting and yang smiled. She bent down petting the corgi of the head as he seemed to enjoy it.

"Really. Guess she still a little upset about the events at Beacon and Vale"Yang replied because she was still hurt a little. She didn't even know where her girlfriend is right now. Last she saw was that she was missing an arm on her way to a hospital.

"Its understandable. What happened their was a little troubling but she seems upset about some of the people that died their"tai said as he finished making breakfast. She slipped the eggs onto a plate along with the bacon.

Then he picked it up but before turning the stove off. He walked over placing four plates out on the table. One for her, one for Tai another for uncle qrow, then lastly ruby.

Yang looked at her breakfast as she picked up her utensils. Then she began to dig into her breakfast. Tai did as well as they ate.

"So tell me whats on today agenda?"tai asked as he ate his breakfast.

"Probably do some training later to stay in shape or head into town maybe"yang replied as she ate her breakfast.

"Thats nice though heard that most of the people in Beacon went to vacou to finish their studies. "Tai added

"Really, huh guess they got that huntress and huntsman drive it seems"yang replied downhearted.

Tai noticed this"hey come on wheres that fiery passion of yours"tai tried to cheer her up as yang rolled her eyes trying to hide a smile but tai noticed this.

"Ah I saw a smile"tai added as yang tapped her dad on the shoulder as he chuckled. The two continued to eat breakfast until the kitchen door opened.

With a metal clanking foot with some groceries in hand in step qrow as he set the bags on the counter.

"Hey i'm back and I got the essential"qrow said before he sat down at the table to eat breakfast.

"Finally seriously what took you soo long"tai asked

"Oh nothing much just people being uneasy still about the stuff that happened in Vale. Might do a patrol later incase any more grimm show up. Along with those knights"qrow added

"Hey if you want me and ruby could join you"yang replied

"Hmm maybe but can you show your old man up out their. If i recall when he was training you couldn't hold a proper stance"Qrow jerked.

"Only because he kept leg sweeping me. Can't exactly to it to you with that metal foot of yours"yang retorted. Qrow and Tai laughed a little at this as they ate. Qrow looked at the fourth palte then looked upstairs.

"She still hasn't come down for breakfast yet?"qrow asked

"No, she still a little hurt about everyone we lost"yang replied sadden by this.

"i'll bring it too her"qrow said as he got up grabbing the plate not even finishing his breakfast. Before they stopped him as he walked a pair of footsteps walked down the stairs. As they waited soon enough Ruby came down not in her usual attire.

She wore a sleeveless shirt that was black with some blue jeans and white socks on. She had a necklace of her emblem around her neck.

"morning"Ruby said looking at the three.

"Hey kiddo finally up breakfast was getting cold"qrow said as he offered the plate to ruby.

She smiled a little as she took it joining the three at the table. They all statted to eat their breakfast as ruby seemed a little better today it seems. This time they didn't have to go upstair and drag her downstairs for breakfast.

Though Yang noticed she still seemed a little upset and worried about something.

"Hey sis you doing alright?"yang questioned with concern.

Ruby stopped eating as she set her utensil down, she looked down at her plate thinking of an answer it seems.

"I'm alright, just still a little worried where all our friends are right now. Especially Blake and Weiss"ruby replied as yang shared that worry with her little sister.

"Same here I hope Blake made it out ok"yang added as she still worried about that cat faunus.

"Look kiddio if you want we could try and find them at some point. "Qrow suggested with the two raising an eyebrow at this.

"Could you really?"ruby replied excited it seems which was good.

"Yeah, got a few old huntsman and huntress contacts around. "Qrow said as he drank some orange juice.

Ruby eyes seemed to light up a little by the mention of that."really oh thank you uncle qrow"ruby exactly said hugging the dusty qrow which surprised him. He choke on his drink a bit but chuckled as he patted the girl on the back.

Soon enough tai scroll buzzed like someone was trying to get ahold of him. He pulled it out and looked at the number to see who was calling him with a confused look.

"Okay why is Ebon calling me this early in the morning"tai said as he answered the scroll putting it too his ear.

"Tai here. Whats up man?"he asked. They couldnt hear the conversation but he had a rather calm look before a shocked expression came to his face then a serious one.

"Okay i'll be over their soon"tai said before he hung up.

"Whats up dad?"yang asked

"Apprently a bullhead just appeared in the middle of the sky. Right now its looking for a place to land and it landed near an open field of the town."tai replied

"Hmm thats weird why would a bullhead suddenly show up?"qrow asked wondering why that showed up.

"Don't know but Ebon said he wants us to check it out"tai said as he reached for the door but Qrow stopped him.

"Hold on their Tai, let me and your daughter go"qrow said volunteering the two.

"Wait what?"yang aksed surprised a little.

"Yeah Qrow I can handle it, it might not be anything major"tai replied

Qrow shook his head"Nope may be good old ironwood coming for a visit or something else. "Qrow replied

"Okay but why Yang?"ruby questioned a little confused

"Because she good at punching"qrow simply said as yang tapped her uncle on the shoulder. He moved back a little as she hit him and he chuckled.

"Alright uncle i'll back you up. Who know maybe Winter with him. Maybe she can tell us were Weiss is"yang said getting ruby attention.

"Wait i'll coem too"ruby said quickly as she zoomed upstairs. The two smiled at each other because it could be winter or ironwood. But it was indeed strange for a bullhead to arrive. After they waited for a bit ruby came back down with crescent rose in hand.

"Ready to go"ruby said as she huffed a little. The girl may have alot of energy but it can run out at times.

The three then lefted the house and headed toward town. Tai stayed inside to clean up the house for any guest.

Meanwhile in the skies the sky was clear and blue. Birds chirped around as they tweeted their little songs. But soon a loud engine roared past them as they flew away. A bullhead was flying at a steady pace toward the patch.

The doors were open as Rogue let her legs hang out as she hummed a little. She was looking at the forest below and it was quiet a sight to see. It was beautiful and it looked like it was untouched by modern society.

But then she looked to her right seeing in the distnace Vale. the city was still in ruin as smoke filed the air it seems. A few small flying objects could be seen but barely as they were small dots. Probably some griffins or wyvern grime maybe.

"Man its good to be back here"mercury said as he took a seat next to her.

"Yeah…its nice to be back here though city still looks like its in rough shape"rogue replied

"Hey don't worry about heard on the news Atlas left soldier their to help them out. "Emerald said as she was sharpening her blade.

"Along with those despardos in the city as well. Still can't believe torchwich hired those guys to help the city"jaune added

"Believe it the guy was actually a decent guy if you got to know him"mercury added.

During that one week of investigating and preapring. The two divulged how exactly they got into beacon academy. They faked their transcripts to get in with the help fo roman torhcwich. Along with telling them about his kids who they were surprised a little to learn their names.

That Neo,Vance and Lazuli were the children of an infamous criminal and cousin of a grimm hybrid and faunus boxer.

"Hmm yeah though I'm not surprised right now with who our school enrolled"jaune simply said

"Hmm lets see you had the youngest huntress to become a leader, a grimm hybrid, two criminals, two white fang members, and….three fake students."emerald joked as the three chuckled.

"Yeah what else will they enroll"mercury added

"Actually I faked my transcript to get in"jaune simply said as the two stared at him in shock.

"Your lying right?"emerald asked

Rogue hummed"nope he's not lying Jaune here faked his transcripts to get into Beacon."rogue answered.

Mercury shook his head in disbelief"no way, your like any huntsman they put in those ads. Like a knight in shining armor"mercury complemented jaune.

"welll….I did cheat my way into the school. But I feel like I earned my place here among everyone"jaune replied in confidence that seemed to make rogue happy. He used to be a little nervous around everyone back then.

But it seems he got a confidence with the help of pyrrha it seems.

Soon after five more minutes of flying the bullhead was making it descent toward the ground. Grass got blown away slightly as the engine hovered over it. But after a bit of time they shut off as the pluto unstrapepd from his seat.

"Alright kids this is your stop. Hope you enjoyed your flight"the pilot said

"We did and thank you again for taking us here"jaune thanked.

"My pleasure kid I owed terra a favor"the pilot replied as she took a seat down.

The four soon started to make their way off the bullhead. A small crowd of people looked at the group wodnering who they were. Thought near another part of the town three familiar people were walking into town.

"Hmm seems that bullhead finally landed it seems"qrow said as he had his hands in his pocket.

"Yeah though I wonder who they are?"ruby added cursiouly

"Wanna make a bet its ironwood or glynda"yang said as ruby wasn't in for that kind of thing. But qrow was in for sure.

"Alright how much we betting?"qrow asked as they walked toward the crowd of people.

Yang cupped her chin"the loser has to give the winter ten lien"yang said offering a hand.

Qrow thought for a moment before shaking it"deal"qrow said as they continued to walk through the they did Ruby noticed the small crowd of people looking at the people coming from the airship.

She could hear murmuring but squinted her eyes a little to see if it was either ironwood or winter maybe. But as she did she noticed two familiar blondes in the group. Her eyes lit up a little as she used her semblance to sprint forward in a swarm of rose.

"Whoa what the heck ruby!?"yang said as her and qrow went after her.

"Umm hey everyone how is going"jaune said waving nervously to the crowd of people staring at them.

"Why are they staring at us"jaune quickly whispered to the others.

"I don't know we show up in a bullhead in broad daylight. It'll make people get curious why one showed up"mercury replied

"Yeah well let see if we can ask around and fin–"rogue said but before she could finished, she was tackled by a flurry of roses to the ground. The three looked surrpsied at this relizing who it might be.

Rogue was on the ground as small axe circled around her head. She shook her head a bit as she looked up seeing who just tackled her. The tinker eyes went wide seeing the person they were exactly looking for.

"Ruby?"rogue asked as ruby smiled at her.

"Rogue it great to see you again"Ruby replied excited as she zip back to her feet.

Rogue slowly got up as she dusted herself off smiling at the silver eyed girl. Then the others of the group decided to greet their old silver ides huntresses companion.

"Heyya red"mercury said as ruby looked at him smiling with emerald waving to her.

"Hey Mercury and Emerald"ruby waved to the two excited

Then she looked at jaune who noticed this as the two exchanged glance. Before he knew it the girl hug him tight as he was a little surprised by this. But he din't mind as he returned the embrace to the small girl.

"Its so great to see you all again"Ruby quickly said as she let go of jaune.

"Same to you Ruby"jaune replied as he was happy to see his friend again.

Ruby looked at the group noticing they were all packed up for something. Which made the silver eyed teen a little curious about why they were here.

"Why are you guys here?"ruby qeustioned her was about to answer the question for her but not before someone stop him.

The two others with ruby caught up to the silver eyed teen who was surpsingyl fast still. Qrow and Yang joined the small crowd of people around the four new arrivals.

"Dang it kiddo don't run off like that"qrow said as he looked up a little surprised.

"Yeah what made you–"yang begun before she looked up seeing the four in front of her. She smiled a little happy to see them again.

"Vomit boy glad to see you again"yang said as Jaune sighed a little.

"Why are you bringing that nickname back"jaune replied downeharted as they laughed a little.

"Come on, it's not our fault you puked on the first of school"rogue added as she walked over hugging yang who returned it.

"Though its great too see you all again. "Yang added as she crossed her arms smiling.

The crowd was starting to disperse a little as a man walked trought the crowd. One was a man who seemed to stand at 6.3 ft tall and had a lightish tan skin complexion to him. His eyes were dark brown with light black hair that was cut short. He wore a green jacket with some fur on top of it. Along with a pair of brown leather pants with black combat boots. Though he had a shotgun strapped to his back that looked to be a double seemed to be in his mid twenties.

"Alright what seems to be the problem here?"he asked as he stepped infront of the group.

Qrow looked at the man"oh nothing much ebon seems my nieces have some friends visiting"qrow replied to the man known as Ebon.

"Really hm interesting well what bring them to our little patch of remnant"Ebon replied

"Oh its nothing sir we came to see our friends and talk about a few things"Rogue replied

Though as she looked at him she noticed a name tag on him it was his first which was Ebon. But the last name stuck out to her which was Benkei. Was this guy related to Bashira in a way, she did say her original home was the patch before moving to mistral.

"Interesting, well besides that you here to cause any trouble?"ebon asked

"Uhh no sir we aren't here to cause trouble"jaune quickly replied

Though the patrolman laughed a little as he tapped the kid on the shoulder.

"Hey don't worry about it just busting your chop kids"ebon replied

Jaune rubbed his arm laughing a little"yeah…funny"jaune replied

"Hey why don't we head back home and catch up"ruby suggested as the group agreed on that.

"Sure thing lead the way short stuff"mercury said as emerald pinched him. He narrowed his gaze at her as she acted like she did nothing. The seven soon made their way back to the house as Ruby lead them back to the house. She had a big smile on her face it seems happy to see her friends Qrow hoped Tai had enough food for what their about to bring.

"Uhh what the heck"tai said seeing the four extra people with them.

"Hey Tai you still got those extra rooms in the house?"qrow asked as the group walked in.

"Uhh yeah two of them….wait why?"tai asked

"Oh they might be staying a couple days maybe"Qrow said as he plopped on a couch then he propped his feet up. Then he put his hands behind his back.

Tai sighed heavily"seriosuly Qrow I thought you were just checking things out. Not brining more mouths to feed…no offense"tai said

"None taken, but if your mad about us staying we could do some work around here"mercury replied

"Yeah we can pull our weight while we catch up"rogue added

Tai eyes widden slightly as he tapped his chin at their request. Then he smiled at the four since their offering to help out.

"Alright but you better not cause trouble around here"tai warned as the four nodded in group started to examine the household of the two sister and were impresses it seems.

Mercury looked around the place whistling a little at the place. It looked like a mninture mansion made of wood. He was rather impressed with the craftsman ship of the place it looked hand man.

"Whoa this place is huge"jaune said baffled at the place.

"You can say that again, hand made?"mercury added

"Yep. everything wood and it took us about two to three months to finish it. Feel free later to pick out a room though you'll have to bunk with each other"tai said as he was sitting down on a couch.

"Okay me and emerald can bunk together"rogue said

"Uh guess me and you are roommates"jaune said looking at mercury awkwardly.

"Seems so man"mercury replied as he got comfy for now taking a seat on a nearby chair.

Qrow looked at the group as he sat down, why exactly where they here. Their had to be another reason these kids for now he was going to let the two catch up with their friends.

"You know we were actually worried about you guys after what happened in Vale"yang said as everyone began to sit down.

Rogue and Ruby sat next to each other while emerald sat next to yang. Mercury took a chair spot as he propped his feet up. While Qrow stood near the mantle with a fireplace underneath it. Jaune stood near a wall as he leaned against it. Tai was in the kitchen grabbing some drinks for everyone.

"Same here, still can't believe all that happened. Beacon,Vale all of it gone"Mercury said

"Yeah…though it seems everyone is still pretty scared about the events that happened"emerald added

"Not all the kingdoms actually. Apparently about a day ago Atlas put a blockade up preventing anyone else from getting in. Along with that theirs been a block on all dust trade to and from Atlas. "Qrow replied

"Wait seriously, why did they do that?"rogue asked confused

"Because Atlas only cares about itself and decides to let everyone else suffer because they don't want to help Atlas"mercury stated as emerald nodded

"Yeah literally those guys probably abandoned most of the city when things got tough"emerald added

"Actually no from what I gather some soldier decided to stay in the city. "Qrow corrected surprising some of them.

"Really why would they do that?"jaune asked

Qrow shrugged his shoulder"don't know maybe james thought it be a good idea to leave some their to take the city back"qrow answered

They sat in a rather long pause for a bit between them as nobody said anything but that when Ruby decided to break the ice.

"Umm though have you seen any of the others lately? Where they are right now"ruby said with soem concern worrying about her other teammates and friends.

"Yeah same here but we got good news on one of your teammats"mercury replied making the two sisters shot up at the mention of one of their teammates.

"Wait really who is it Weiss?! Blake?!"ruby shook the closest person next ot her which was rogue. She got shook around alot until yang walked over putting her hands on ruby shoulder to stop her.

Ruby let go of rogue who was now dizzy from all that shaking as she spun a little before shaking her head. For such a small girl she sure does have alot of strength though that large amount of endurance she has is still their.

"Jeez I think i'm gonna puke"rogue added as she was a little dizzy its like she was spuna round in circles.

"Sorry"ruby said as she tapped her fingers together.

Yang then looked at the four wondering who they with some hope in her eyes on a certain someone. Because she was really worried about a certain cat faunus on their team.

"So who was with you guys?"yang questioned

"Oh Weiss was with us when we were at Argus. But shes not their probably right now"jaune replied

Ruby raised an eyebrow"what do you mean that shes not their anymore?"ruby questioned with concern.

"Winter said her mom was coming to grab her to bring her back home. She was worried sick about her it seems but wanted to let her spend time with her friends"emerald answered

This seemed to relax the sisters it seems as they both breathed a sigh of relief. Because they were worried for a second that the ice queen on their team was hurt or worse.

"Oh thanks goodness shes okay"ruby replied relaxed.

"Though what about Blake and Onxyia, do you guys know where they are?"rogue asked wondering where her other teammate was. Maybe those two knew where she went.

"Last time I saw Blake she was being loaded up into a truck with Onxyia, Neo and yahto. Along with that Colt guy"yang answered but looked away it seems.

"Huh really wonder why he was their?"mercury said as rogue thought about it. Whenever they are they could be in menagerie right now. But as she thought of that something crossed her mind.

If they were hurt during the attack they might have recovered at a nearby hospital. Then probbly went home to check on their families, but also breaking the news to Nadia. She thought about how bad that must be going for onxyia and velvet right now.

"Beats me the guy had a truck to transport people to the camp. Probably took them to a hospital nearby"qrow asnwered as he looked at tai who brought drinks for everyone. They were glasses of water as everyone took one.

"Hey what about Eria she doing alright?"Ruby asked as rogue eyes slightly widden at that question.

"Yeah thought she be with you guys since your visiting"yang added

Rogue just avoided their gaze as she messed with the piece of cloth on her took notice of this because from how she reacted it might be bad. Mercury looked at her as he walked over to her. Then he got behind the spot behind her as he placed a hand on her should to comfort her.

Rogue grabbed it looking down for a bit then took a deep breath to compose herself right now.

"Eria…shes alright for now…but..she"rogue begun trying to find the words as Ruby looked a little worried.

"What happen to her?"ruby asked concerned as rogue and her eyes met. Silver and orange looked at each other before Rogue sighed heavily.

"She lost her right leg"rogue said as she squeezed Mercury right hand. Yang and Ruby looked a little shocked to hear what happened. Ruby looked a little down at the news of what happen to rogues sister.

"So thats why she isn't here, how is she?"yang

"Shes been better, still getting used to it. Perun been helping her through the process"jaune answered.

"Oh thats good"ruby added with a small smile

"Hey i'm sure things will work out for her. Along with that i'm sure your other friends are okay. "Tai reassured the group.

"Though despite that why don't you all go unpack. If your staying for a few days it will be nice to get comfortable for now."qrow said as the four agreed.

They all got up as yang lead them to the guest rooms. They went around a corner to be met by a hall. Their were two doors on the right and she opened them to reveal the guest rooms. They were simple rooms that had two beds each in them small enough to fit.

Along with a dresser in the room to store their clothes in, and a big window that showed the outside where the forest was. They split off into their respective rooms. Rogue and Emerald sharing a room. While mercury and Jaune sharing one.

"Okay once you guys are all packed up we'll have dinner later around five pm"yang said to them.

"Alright blondie see you then"mercury said as the blonde barlwer left them to unpack.

Rogue was already starting to unpack her clothes she brought along with placing her pack down. Emerald set her bag down as she layed on the bed infront of her exhausted a little. But Rogue was thinking about how they were going to ask the two about a plan to stop those four and their mysterious leader.

The group reunited with most of their friends right now as they told them why they were their to visit them. But they may need to tell them the real reason why their in the xiaolong household in the first place. Thanks for reading!
