Chapter 16 Orange:Troubled Views

In the bathhosue rogue was enjoying herself as she was relaxing herself in the hot water as the steam came from the water. However something was on her mind that was bothering her was how she was going to avenge her friends. It seems that it might be hard because wherever team BRAS is their probably hiding. But also she just misses them dearly wishing they were back.

"I wish you guys were still here"rogue thought as she hung her head.

"Why…did you guys have all to all leave me on that day. First I lost uncle dravan….then pyrrha dad dies after that which did hurt for a while…but then….tanner dies saving me because I was so stupid. Then their zane…he kills himself praticully because he was scared."she thought as she slide down her head into the water slightly.

"He was such an idiot…he was my partner he could have told me about this. We could have helped him…then…pyrrha. I wish you were still here big sis….maybe if I was their and not hurt you'd be here still"rogue thought as she sighed hugging herself.

As she sat their she glance out of the corner of her eye as a small flash went off surprising her. She started to freeze up as her breathing became faster.

She glanced around the bathhosue to see four figures walking toward her just like they were in her nightmares. Dravan walked over titling his head at her.

"You shouldn't have come to the village girl…maybe then I wouldn't have died"the fake draven spoke as it rang in her head.

"Yeah if you didn't get hurt i'd still be alive"the fake tanner voice rung in her head.

"Please stop…please…no"rogue softly said as she let tears escape her eyes as he breathing became faster as she tired to calm herself down but it wasn't working.

"Look at you runnign scared from the monster of beacon…maybe if I just shot myself you'd escape with the other"the fake zane said with a low animal like growl.

"No…no…please stop!"rogue cried out in fear as tears streamed down her face as she looked up to see pyrrha glaring at her with hate in her eyes.

"You should have been their…maybe if your were I would be alive…and eria would still have her leg"the fake pyrrha voice rung in her head. Then she reached for rogue with her bloodied hands.

Rogue just closed her eyes covering her ears shaking her head. Tears streamed down her face as she was scared about what was going to happen. Thought soon enough she could feel someone touch her right shoulder as she quickly flicnhed moving in the water.

She opened her eyes to see ruby their with a towel wrapped around her body with a worried look across her face.

"Rogue are you okay?"ruby asked concerned as rogue was still shaking right now.

She was having a panic attack right now because she just missed all those people she lost a few weeks ago. It scared her because she could have maybe helped them. But it also scared her that her other friends could die.

"No….i'm fine…see"rogue said trying to force a smile but tears streamed down her face.

Their eyes locked with each other as ruby soften her gaze. Then she carefully dipped into the bath as she sat right next to rogue as she sighed in relief.

"Alright that feels nice but…are you sure your okay?"ruby asked as rogue just wrapped her arms around herself.

"umm..I…I….don't know,"rogue replied somberly holding her head.

Ruby frowned at this"look I know you miss our friend…I miss them too every day…pyrrha,tanner and um zane"ruby said hesitating on the last part a little it seems.

Rogue noticed this looking at her"why did you hesitate on his name?"She asked

Ruby looked down ashamed a little"sorry….it just…what happened with penny. It scared me a little what he did,"she replied, not wanting to hide it.

"He couldn't control it, that dumb bot probably getting rebuilt right now"rogue said as tears streamed down her face still.

"I know….but look I know you miss him and pyrrha alot right now. But…we're here to stop team BRAS and find out what they are planning with their queen. I'm worried that you might do something you'll regret"ruby said with worrie in her throat.

Rogue clenched her fist before she quickly stood up from the bath and headed out and turned to ruby again as she spoke.

"Its none of your business what i'm going to do…buzz off"rogue said as she walked out to the changing room.

Ruby sighed as she felt like she just made a rogue mad she just wanted to help her friend. She needed to apolgize later as she continued to bath in peace for now.

But across in a different part on the anima was Yang riding down the dirt path on her sports bike. Bashira held on tight because the road was a little bumpy while emerald was boucning around in the back .she wasn't exactly having the most pleasant of expeirence back in this trailer.

They went over a decent size rock as yang accidnelty ran over it with the trailer. It made it bounce into the air slightly as emerald went into the air flying slightly. She luckily grabbed onto it as it slammed to the ground clanking.

"Ughhh yang slow the heck down"Emerald shouted with haste

Yang eased up on the throttle of her bike as she slowed down a little to avoid anymore unnecessary accidents.

"Heh sorry my bad must have been in the zone"yang replied

"Really because I could have broken my neck"emerald said annoyed

"It alright emerald how about when we reach the small outpost we trade spots"bashria suggested

Emerald cupped her chin as that didn't sound like a bad idea maybe then her behind wouldn't be sore from all the rocking around in the trailer.

"Fine deal seriously I hope they have a bath or something while we rest here"emerald said as the bike continued to drive for a bit as it was still dark out for them.

After another ten minutes of driving yang pivoted her hips as she turned the bike down a dirt path. They were in a small dense forest as the night sky liimuniated them. Noises could be heard around them which consisted of the wildlife around them or grimm that lurked in the shadows.

As they kept driving yang looked ahead noticing a small outpost it seems. Their was a dirt path that went off the path but she could see something on a tree close by. The symbol of the branwhen tribe craved into the tree as a small glow came off it.

She drove up to the tree smiling as the other two looked at it.

"Huh guess we found where the outpost is but why is that tree glowing?"emerald questioned.

"Oh its luminous paint usauuly made from phosphors like zinc sulfide or doped strontium illuminate"bashira answered

"How the heck do you know that?"yang asked as she slowly drove her bike down the small path because it was quite steep.

"We used it to hunt sometimes with my dad"bahsira answered looking down a little.

Yang looked down as she was off her bike guiding it down with bashira as they held the bikes handles to guide it down.

"Really why'd you use paint to hunt?"emerald asked casually.

"To mark where our bait was if it got to late into the night. I'm not a faunus so i don't got nightvision"she replied

"Yeah, though did soemthing happen to sino?"yang asked as emerald figured out that was bashria dads name,

Bashira sighed"after we moved to mistral about a year their he contracted a disease that was destorying his bodie. Broke my heart when he died but…he was still smiling when he passed"bashira replied with a small smile.

"That your dad for you he'd always be smiling no matter what"yang reminded as bashira chuckled.

"Yeah I promsied to always smile just for h–"bashira begun before stopping and going wide eyed looking infront of.

Yang looked at her confused as she slowly looked ahead of her as she did she saw what bashria saw. In front of her was a small campsite that had wooden walls that had spikes ontop of them. Along with six tents being seen inside the place. But what was troubling was the gate was smashed in.

"Umm this wound't be the outpost wouldn't it?"emerald asked as yang nodded

"Come on lets check for survivors"yang said as she walked into the camp to look for anyoen still alive.

Once inside the camp they could see several piece of debris litering the place along with smashed open boxes and crates. The tents in the camp were torn to shred as they blew in the wind. Though along with that their were dead bodies around the place that still looked freash it seems.

Bashira walked over as she pulled someone over seeing him in some tribal clothing. His eyes were hazy looking as his lips were blue and his skin was pale. He had giant cut across his chest that tore his shirt open.

Fly buzzed him as bashira sigh pinching her nose.

"They been dead for more than a couple day it seems"she said

"What the heck happened here did grimm do this?"emerald questioned because their weren;t really anything saying grimm were invovled.

Yang walked around for a bit noticing a larger tent in the camp guessing that was the main command tent. She walked over as it still stood up but had holes in it. Once inside she saw a map on a wooden table along with chairs. Several other things decorated the place being books, maps, but half eaten food that was rotten.

She walked over toward the table looking at the map on the table glancing at it. As she did she looked around seeing something on the map. It was a spot cirlced in red saying"moved camps"in red lettters

"Dammit guess they moved"yang said to herself as she walked back out the tent.

As she did she looked at emerald and bashira gathering up the dead it seems. Their was maybe five of them as they placed them in the middle of the camp. Bashira walked over placing a faunus women down gently with her eyes closed for a sign of respect.

"Is it me or shouldn't their be more people here?"emerald asked

"Your not wrong at most this camp fits like maybe fourteen to twenty people at max"bashira replied

"Well apparently they moved the main camp to somewhere else on uncle map"yang said to them.

"Crap well that doens't explain what attack them"emerald reminded.

"Hmm it could be some bandits that attack them maybe"bashria suggested

"Maybe but lets see if we can scrouge up any remaining supplies before we leave"yang said as the three separated looking for any suppiles. They search some trunks, chest and other storage equipment. But found just small bit of suppiles to help them make it for a while.

But with emerald as she was looking around near the far corner of the camp. She glanced out of the corner of her eyes seeing another bodie as she had a somber expression.

She walked over toward the bodie expecting a dead bodie.

"Guess another poor bastard here might as we–"emerald begun before turning the corner going wide eyed.

On the ground leaning against a crate was a man with a crudely put together banaged as he looked pale. His chest was barely rising as he wheezed with each breath.

"Oh my god…..guy we got a live one over here!"emerald shouted getting their attention. Yang and bashria quickly rushed over to where emerald was to see the dying man laying their.

Bashira kneeled down infront of him"sir…sir are you alright?"she asked

"Yeah what the hell happened here?"yang aded

The branwhen tribe member coughed as he breathed hard"we…were attack….by..'he begun but coughed as he looked like he was on the verge of death.

"Dammit alright we gotta get this guy some medical aid. If kuroyuri is just a day away we can circle back and–"yang begun but emerald stopped her.

"Yang he not going to make it"emerald advised sadly.

"She right he's barley hanging on right now but who did this?"bashira asked looking at the man.

The man gasped for air as he hacked and wheezed"our…own men…attack us….they…started a coup"he said as the three looked at each other.

"But why?"yang questioned wondering if her mother was okay.

The man wheezed again as he looked toward a canteen on emerald pack. The red eyed girl noticed this as she reached around grabbing the canteen. She then gently placed it in his kouth as he took a couple sip.

Then she removed it as the man coughed a little taking a deep breath as his chest slowly rised. Yang could tell he had a gut wound across his abdomen since a curd banaged was wrapped around it.

"Look where is the main camp…could you tell us?"bashira asked

"No chance..your with them…probably…I aint letting our leader be slaugther"he said with pride it seems.

"That leader is my mom"yang said as the man went wide eyed a little chuckling.

"Your Raven kid…dam…that woman never shuts up about you"he said chuckling as yang smiled a little about that.

"Funny but could you tell us where they moved camp?"Ermerald calmly asked because the man seemed to be using his remaining strength to talk.

She had a map out as he looked at it a bit before bringing his finger up poitning to a small spot on the map. His hand fell down as a small blood dot smeared a spot on the map.

"Its…their…about…two weeks from…here maybe"he said as emerald nodded. They stood their for a bit until the man finally slowly closed his eyes. He pased on as yang sighed and the three decided to give him and the others a proper burial. Once they did they decided to camo out here for the night.

Meanwhile outside the village jaune, ren and zuri were searching for the missing kids and they found the spot the kids were getting herbs and playing at. Zuri was on the ground examining a some patches of grass. She noticed that a few spots were flattened as if the kids have been here recently. A set of three were on the grass with all of them being around the same size it also one that was deep in the grass is seems.

"Hmm alright judging by these footprints it seems these three smaller sets might be maybe…eight to nine years old"Zuri said

Jaune was cupping his chin"why would these kids be out here collecting herbs anyway?"he asked

"Yes, it very dangerous for children to go in the woods by themselves"Ren added

"Do you think were dumb we send someone with them to protect them."zuri retorted annoyed a little.

"No but didn't they have a guard with them"jaune replied

"Yeah although"zuri started as she noticed the large set of footprints with speck of blood near it. She placed her finger over it and to her surprsie it was still liquid but seemed to be hardening soon.

"The tribemember with them is injured it seems. About..an hour old at best"she added

Ren looked at the small trail of footprints that headed away from the herbs. But he also noticed a set of five footprints that were much large more likely male. They were following the other four.

"It seems someone is chasing them"Ren said as he pointed at the footprints on the ground

"Maybe its those unseen eye guys"jaune suggest as zuri nodded in agreement.

"Lets go before they do something to them"Zuri said as they started to follow the footprints that lead further away from kuroyuri. They walked for maybe fifteen minutes of following the footprint as it was starting to get late as the sky was turning orange.

As they kept moving zuri stopped for a second as she tried to lsiten for anything as she closed her eyes listen. As she did her ears flicked a little as she picked up the sound of a gun hammer being cocked to shoot. Her eyes widden as she drew her bow as jaune looked at her for a moment before he noticed a small glint nearby.

"Watch out!"jaune shouted as he brougth his shield out as it exntended. Then he pressed a button as the hard light dust activated on it. A gun was fired as the bullet bounced off the sheild jaune, ren and zuri were behind.

"Pitful vermin who are you?"a large man asked with a gruff voice. Then four more people emerged from the brush alongside side in in black combat pants with dark purple shirts. Along with random pieces of armor around them. Though they all had the same symbol of an eye painted on their armor or clothes. Along with wearing mask or sacks over their head with the same symbol.

"Who are we? That doens't matter where are the kids and the tribemember"jaune demanded

Ren brought out his machine guns as zuri had her bow at the ready as she notched back a barbed arrow. The arrow glowed a little yellow it seems.

"Do not worrie about that you shoul worrie about yourselves vermin"the large man said as he nodded to the other form They brought out their weapons pointing it at the three.

"Five against three is a fair match I guess"zuri pointed out.

"Why are you here?"ren demanded aiming his weapons at the five.

"Do not worrie young one for i am turk guardian of our speaker on our divine journey. "The man itnroduced himself as turk.

"And what would that be?"jaune asked as he reaided his sword and sheild.

"To cleanse the world of you vermin in the name of the all seeing one. Along with using those children as slaves or offering to our holy one"he replied

The three stared at him talking about using those kids as slaves or scafieices. Jaune snapped as he couldn't stand someone using kids like salves. He reaided his sword as he rushed forward toward the five. Along with ren and zuri backing them up.

They scatted as they delat with each of the cultist and turk. Jaune swung at turk as he jumped back before raising his fist. He swung as jaune used his shield to block it. But he noticed that he had a bladed weapon in his hand. Jaune bashed the man back with his shield as he stumbled a little. But then he walked forward slowly as he swung at jaune who blcoked it. But another cultist tackled him to the ground as the two tumbled.

Ren went after two of the cultist as they stabbed at him. But he used the blades on stromflower to block them beforre he swfitly kicked one of their legs. The cutlist fell to one knee and he quickly dodged the others attack. They kept violently jabbing for ren as he blocked most of the strike. But one hit his aura and luckily it was still holding strong. Ren then quickly dodged a shot from the one on the ground. The cultist tired to stab him again but ren doged it and he then kneed the cultist in the gut. The cultist gasped for a second but not before ren elbow dropped the back of his skull knocking him to the ground. The cultist groaned a little as ren dodged another shot from the second one as they screamed rushing at him.

"For the all seeing one!"he cired as he ran foward firing off several shots until a click could be heard. The cultist noticed this and soon was quickly met by ren foot. Ren axe kicked the cultist jaw as he fell to the ground groaning as his jaw seemed to be busted.

Zuri nothced her bow back as a cultist rushed toward her with a dagger in hand. She closed one eye as she took a deep breath and exhaled. Then she let the string go on the bow as the arrow went flying. As it did it made contact with the cultist as an electric arrow shocked the cultist as she fell to her side with smoke coming off her.

Meanwhile with jaune his sword was knocked out of his hand as he was holding the cultist back. The cultsit had his hands wrapped around jaune throat as he began to squeeze.

"You should have never come here we will compelte our mission"the cultsit warned as he began to squeeze jaune necks. He struggled against the guys grip as his vision was going blurry. As he his vision was starting to fade from behind the cultist got hit by something as he relased jaune.

He began to hack and cough trying to get air back in his lungss again.

The cutlsit turned to see an injured branwhen tribe member holding a club in her hands. It was a women around maybe in her mid twenties panting wearing what viri and koa wore.

The cultist growled at the women with an anger look"you shall pay for intefering vermin!"the tcultist shouted as he rushed at the women.

But jaune reacted as he grabbed his sword and charged into the cutlsit. He intercepted him into as he shield bashed him a few feet away. As he did he landed infront of turk who was examining what was going on as he looked anger.

The large man had a gash on his leg but he didn't even seem to care right now. His fellow cultist soon gathered themselves as they regroup while one grabbed their knocked out comrade.

"This village shall burn one way or another. You can't defend the town long. The speaker sees that a evil from long ago will destory it again"turk said as he pulled out a smoke bomb it seems as he threw it too the ground and exploded on impact. Once it was cleared turk was gone and so was his cutlsits.

Ren went wide eyed at what turk just said as he stared at the spot the man was. Jaune noticed this wanting to check on him but the women fell down to the ground.

"Hey you okay?"zuri said as she rushed to the women aid.

The women smiled"yeah just tired…lost a good amount of blood but….you here for the kids?"she asked

"Yeah could you lead us to them are they safe?"jaune asked

"Their hiding…close by…dam cultist"she said as zuri gently pulled her up supporitng the women as she lead them to the others. But ren was wide eyed as he had a looke of worry across his face.

"No he can't predict the future can he"Ren questioned outloud

"Ren is he talking about the knuckleeve?"jaune asked as ren nodded as the two followed zuri and the women.

"You mean that grimm thats been spotted here a few times?"zuri asked

"Yes the same one that destory the village many years ago"Ren replied sadly.

The tribemember cough"well the faster we deal with those cutlist the faster…we can prepare ourselves for it to attack"She said as she grunted in pain.

To their luck the women lead them to where the kids were hiding in a small cave. The three kids inside were cowering a little in the back.

"Go away!"a boy said as he swung a pocket knife in his hand.

"Take it easy it me kid"the women said as the kids looked at her. Then they slowly walked out of the cave as they got a good look at of them was seven year old boy wearing a brown short sleeve shirt with black shorts. While one was a eight boy who wore a long sleeve shirt colored green with a pair of black pants.

The other was a eight year old girl who was a red panda faunus as they noited a long tail. The girl wore a pink short sleeved shirt with a pair of tna pants and also had dark brown hair to match her tail.

"Are you three hurt?"zuri asked

"No she made sure the bad men didn't get us"the girl said pointing at the women.

Jaune looked at the women shoulder seeing a wound on her right shoulder. He walked over examining it seeing a stab wound that didn't go through.

"Okay it looks like it didn't go through"jaune said as he took out a medical pack and started to to clean the wound. He took out rubbing alcholg as he applyed it the a medical pad.

"This might sting ma'am"Jaune said as the women nodded smiling.

"I've been through worse"she said as jaune put the medical pad on her wound as the women clenched her jaw trying not to scream so the grimm couldn't find them. But ren walked over his semblance as she became gray out and exhaled in relief. After cleaning the wound jaune then wrapped it up so it wouldn't get infected.

"Their that should do it. Now we gotta get back to the village"jaune said

"Are you three okay to walk?"ren asked as they nodded to him.

The women slouched a little as she looked tired which wasn't a good sign.

"I think you might need to carrie me…lost some blood"she said as zuri nodded as she and jaune carried the women so it would be eaiser to move her. While ren guided the three kids with him back to kuroyuri. But what they didn't know that deeper in the forest was none other than the unseen eyes base of operation not too far from kuroyuri. But on in a mountain where a cave layed was a beast that had several weapons laying around in its den.

Though far away still making good progress on foot toward the town was tyrian who was getting at the halfway point to the town. But as he did he stopepd for a moment noticing a familair presance around him. He began to chuckle a little as he glanced behind his shoulder

A women in dark purple robes stood their as she held a staff that resemble a seer grimm.

"Ahh flora spreading the good word of our queen still"tyrian asked

The women removed her hood on her head soon to revela her face. But what was on her face was a large SDC mark that covered both her eyes. Though she had a dark purple cloth wrapped around covering her eyes. She wore a ceremonial robe that was dark pruple with a black sash wrapped around it. Her face was pale as her branded eyes were orange it seems as she barely opened them. Her hair was muted blue green it seems but style short. But on her forehead was a tatto of an open eye staring back. Though she had one badger ear that was clipped.

"Tyrian what bring you here come to check on our work for our queen"she said bowing to him as he returned it.

"No actually hunting someone down…you wouldn't happen to see a girl in red would you?"he asked

"Yes in the village we are trying to take over. Why?"flora replied

Tyrian chuckled as his tail moved around"lets just our queen wants me to bring her in alive"he replied

Flora nodded"okay brother tyrian, thank goodness she foretold of your arrival. We shall help our queens flag bearers whenever we can"she replied as the two slowly walked away toward the town. But in an instant the two vanished as a bright flash went off with flora using her semblance to teleport it seems.

Seems tyrian has met with his queen insane cult that follows her every word. Along with that rogue starting to hallucinate now and maybe those nightmares are getting to her. As ren worries about this great evil that turk mentioned from long ago.
