Last chapter the village seemed to be under attack right now. Along with ruby confronting her friend on her ideas of honoring their friends that past by killing someone in their name. Chapter 19:Revenge Isn't plesant
The village was in complete chaos when they left the village chieftain house. Several people were running around as they saw villager running for their lives. As they did rogue looked around noticing some of the wall she made early got destroyed early. Along with that cutlist were busy fighting with the brnawhen tribe warriors.
"This bad we gotta help them"jaune said as he unsheathed his sword and then turned it into his great sword.
"Agreed look we split up to deal with each situation at hand"ruby ordered as they looked at her nodding.
"Rouge, mercury and koa you go see about raising those walls again"ruby ordered
"On it"rogue replied as the three rushed off toward the destroyed wall they made early.
She then looked toward viri, qing and zuri"can you three make sure the villagers get somewhere safe"ruby ordered
Qing nodded"it shall be done we have a safehouse that is close into the woods right now. Our injured are their now since we moved them. I shall head their now…this old man might be a problem if he walks around"qing said
"Alright I got you sir"zuri said as she quickly picked up the old man rushing off toward the town safehouse.
"I'll go help our warriors deal with these cultist freaks"viri said as she rushed off somewhere else in the village.
Then she turned to the remainder of their group with a determined gaze"try and deal with the cultist here and watch out for any grimm that may come. With this much chaos it'll bound to bring grimm here"Ruby ordered as they all nodded in agreement. Then they all rushed off into the village to help the villager.
But ren looked worried about all this chaos because it could only bring one thing and that would be the knuckleeve.
On a small cliffside overlooking the twon was flora as she looked at the chaos below. She smiled at this as their missions is finally being accomplished. Right now she just hopes that her queen will be happy with the work they;ve done.
She looked toward the forest area as tree and branches could be seen being knocked down from something approaching. A roar could be heard as she smiled to herself with a grin.
"It comes to bring the pitiful village destruction again my queen"flora said as she continued to watch the carnage below.
Down in the village below rogue was rushing through the village glancing at the chao around her. Their weren't that many cultsit around the place but they were deciamting the people here. She saw a cultist try to stab a villager but a branwhen tribe warriro quickly dealt with them as they shield bashed them.
She could hear the claknking of metal against each other all around her along with screaming. It was just like that day when her uncle died. And it was happening again but she quickly buried that thought deep in the back of her mind. As they continued to rush through the villager she saw the small rock barricade she made destroyed. But she also could see small amount of grimm swarming through the hole.
"Crap grimm"koa said as he brought out his maganam pistol as he fired a few shots at them.
One snarled at them as it started to rush at them but mercury quickyl intercepted it as he planted his foot to the ground. Then he fired toward the grimm as he rushed forward kicking it back. Once he impacted it the grimm was sent flying backwards. It landed with a thud on the ground as it quickly recovered coming at him again.
The grimm slashed at mercury as he used his semblance to enhance his speed as he quickly got out of the way. Then he delivered several kicks to the grimm side with each one ringing out with a shotgun blast. As he did soon enough the grimm died as it turned into smoke.
Though two rushed at rogue as she had one of her single headed axe out. She raised her arm shield to block the strike form one grimm. A loud thud could be heard when it hit her shield as she was quickly swiped at by the second. It hit her as her aura took the hit but only went down silgihtly.
Rogue glared at the grimm before one charged straight at her and she waited for it to get closer. Once it did she lifted her axe back as she threw the axe in into chest. The grimm didn't seemed to stop just from that as it was still coming straight for her. Rogue quickly grabbed her other axe changing it into a submachine gun. She dodged rolled as the grimm swiped at her and she quickly recovered. Then she aimed at the grimm as she fired a hail of bullets into it.
The grimm soon fell to the ground and rogue quickly transformed her weapon back into a single ehaded axe. Then she rushed forward as her wrist glowed a little as did her single ended axe on the ground. It glowed with a purple near the axe blade as it came back into her hand. She quickly placed them together into her large double sided axe.
The second grimm then lunged at her but she hiked her axe back as she lifted it up burying it into the grimm skull as it went limp dying. The three then uickly collected themselves as they looked at the destroyed wall.
"Dammit how the hell did they destory it?"koa questioned
Rogue looked around noticing bit and piece from a small explosive presumably dust bombs.
"Dust bombs they might have gotten the others too"rogue said
"Alright quickly get it fixed up and we can join the others while helping out the villager along the way"mercury said as he got in a defensive position with rogue.
The blonde then sheathed her axe as she used her semblance to create a small pool of lava. Then she slowly turned her wrist as a rock wall emerged from it blocking the small path.
"Okay its done"rogue said taking a breath
"That was quick but…"koa said looking around the place with worry.
His men along with some of the villager were doing their best to deal with the cultist and now grimm. It seems some of the cultist were taken down but not all of them.
"We need to make sure everyone get to safety"koa reminded as they nodded in agreement. They all rushed into the village to hopefully deal with more of these cultist and the grimm in the area.
Meanwhile with qing and zuri the two were waling through the woods toward a small metal hatch. As they did several villagers along with some injured with them. Zuri walked foward as she palced her hands on the metal hatch. She threw them open as she was met by the clicking of a hammer.
"Stay back you cutlsit fre–"someone said below but qing calmed them down.
"Calm down its us"Qing reassured as a branwhen tribe member poked her head out and it was the women from the woods early.
"Thank goodness whats happening we heard shouting and gunfire?"she asked
Zuri motioned for the villager to head down below as they all started to head underground toward the safehouse.
"Were under attack right now how is everyone down their?"qing asked
"Pretty good but we aren't going to be able to house so many people here"she reminded
Zuri groaned rubbing her eyes as her ears twitched"we know but if were lucky a mistral patrol ship might come here soon."zuri replied
"Let us hope so because if that demon does come here we may be in trouble"qing said as the two nodded
They all slowly started to head down below as they headed down toward the small safe house. It had what you'd find in a town shelter being bedding for the villager, shelves that are decorated with food that could last them a few weeks it seems. Along with that several people layed on small cot with bandages and sling on their bodie. All of them seemed to be injured but qing just hoped that they could save the village.
Right now ruby and the others were dealing with the cultist and the grimm comign through the town. Ruby quickly turned into a flurry of rose as she jumped onto a nearby rooftop. Then she quickly turned crescent rose into her sniper mode as she provided cover fire down below. She took aim through her scope seeing a grimm attacking a pair of villagers as they raised their arms to defend ethemselvs.
But the silver eyed huntress quickly pressed the trigger as a sniper shot rang out. In an isntant the grimm was domed across the head as it fell to its side as it turned into a black smoke. The viallger picked themsleves up as they quickly ran off in another direction. Ruby then shot at a few more grimm from above killing each of them in an instant.
Down below jaune dodged a swipe from a beowulf and he raised his sword up with some struggle. But he quickly brought the greatsword down chopping the grimm head clean off. Another quickly came at him as he turned his great sword back to his normal sword. He brought up his shield quickly blocking its strike and he pushed back the grimm.
Then he quickly slashed at the grimm a few times as it cried in pain. The blonde knight then stabbed it in the heart as the grimm soon disappeared dying.
"How are you two doing?"juane asked as nora brought her hammer down on a grimm head caving it in.
"Good though…I really hope it doens't come here"nora replied
Ren was dealing with a couple cultist as he quickly leg sweeped them to the ground. They landed as they grunted in pain and ren quickly kicked the man in the jaw as he was kncoekd out. Then he brought stromflower up firing at a rushing grimm with his machine pistol. As it got close just in time he killed the grimm as it fell foward dead on the ground.
"Yes but it appears these cultist are presitant"ren added
Qrow swung his broadsword blade upwards air hiking a grimm. He was about to jump up and deal with but a sniper shot rang out. The old huntsman watched as the grimm was shot mid air and dispepared into black smoke.
He turned smiling to see ruby waving to him as she held her sniper out as the end of it smoked.
"Great work kiddio"he complimente though she didn't hear that.
Then ruby stood up as she reached into her pouch for a new clip of ammo. As she did someone from behind was laughing mancially. The young huntresses loaded a new clip into her sniper pulling the hammer back smiling.
"Okay now to–"ruby begun before a tail was wrapped around her mouth as she went wide eyed.
A scorpion tail was wrapped around ruby mouth as a sinister laugh could be heard. He tighten his grip around her mouth slgihtly but not enough to choke her out.
"Well their you are little one my grace request your presence you should be very honored"tyrian said behind ruby as she cackeld like a madman.
But down below qrow went wide eyed looking at this as he clenched harbinger tight in his hands.
"Get away from her you bastard!"qrow shouted in anger as he jumped forward into the air. Then he turned into a crow as he flew toward tyrian.
Jaune looked over going wide eyed at what he was seeing shaking his head.
"Oh no…guys we got a problem!"jaune shotued getting ren and nora attention as they dealt with a cultist and grimm. He pointed toward the direction of ruby.
"What is that thing here?"nora asked
Ren looked over to where jaune was pointing going wide eyed he saw ruby being held back by tyrian as she was struggling to break free from the scorpian faunus.
"He has ruby we need to help her"Ren said as the two nodded as they rushed forward toward the scorpian faunus who had their friend.
Qrow flew around in his crow form for a bit until he got to the rooftop as he appeared back in his normal form glaring at the scoprian faunus. Tyrian smiled a little seeing qrow their as he pulled his tail back but immedaitly wrapped his hand over ruby mouth as she tried to break free.
"As I live and breath qrow branwhen"tyrian said as he bowed to him mockingly.
"A true huntsman is here not like these pathetic young ones. Along with being the leader of the branwhen tribe laongside his sister."tyrian added mockingly.
"Look pal. I need you to let my niece go right now or your going to regret it"qrow threatened but also demanded as he pointed his sword at tyrian.
Tyrian cackled like a madman"I don't think I will i'm afraid my grace wants her and I can't upset her. Hmm though weren't you on the same team as this one's mother?"tyrian asked as qrow glared at him. With ruby going a little wide eyed at this.
"What of it bastard?"qrow replied
Tyrian smiled at him"I recall my queen telling me how she gutted that women leaving her arm as a warning to those who oppose her"tyrian replied
Ruby went wide eyed as tears began to well up in her eyes right now. She just lost that one bit of hope that her mother could still be out their and now she just heard she might be dead. The old huntsman seethed in rage now right fighting the tears back as he raised harbinger before quickly changing it into his scythe.A clicking and mechaincial noise could be heard as it happened.
"Your not bringing her to that dam witch"qrow stated confidently.
"Oh I think I will because you–"tyrian begun but quickly stopped as ruby bite his hand. He yelped as he let the young huntress go. Then ruby pushed him off the edge of the building as he fell below.
She quickly grabbed crescent rose off the rooftop but looked disheartened right now. Qrow noticed this as he rushed over to her side.
"Don't listen to him kiddio…their still hope she out their"he reassured as ruby looked down to see tyrian getting up smiling at the two. The two family member looked at each other nodding before they entered the fray to deal with the madman.
With rogue and the others they managed to patch up all the destroyed walls they made. Except for the large one in town which rogue didn't have the energy for. Though they were slowly dealing with the grimm here.
Rogue slashed a grimm in half killing it as it disppeared into black smoke.
"Thats another one down how many more are left?"rogue questioned.
Mercury kicked a cultist to the ground before grabbing his wrist as he fell. Then he quickly snapped it as the cultsit cried in pain.
"Not many probably just some grimm and a few more cultsit and were done here"he replied
Koa looked around as he had his sugar cane knife as he sliced a bobaratusk as it sqeeled before falling to the ground dead.
"Yeah also….i'm pretty pissed off how they ruined three years of progress!"koa shouted annoyed
"You and me both"viri said rushing over with two branwhen warriors a small group of villager. Two of which are the kids that ren and the other saved.
The red panda faunus clunged to presumably a family member as she shook in fear.
"Mom are we gonna die?"She asked as the women picked her daughter up holding her close
"We'll be alright baby just be brave"she reassured
"Don't worrie we'll get you all out of her no matter what. Because thats what a huntresses does"rogue said proudly
Mercury smiled at her as he quickly dispatched another grimm kicking it to the ground. Then koa shot the grimm with his maganum killing it.
"Okay we gotta get these people to the safehouse then we can–"koa begun but then suddenly from behind him a katar blade could be seen in his lower abdomen.
Turk was behind him as he quickly pulled the blade out kicking the man to the side. Mecury and rogue quickly got in a defense stance. As viri looked worried as she rushed over to koa looking at him with worry.
"No…no dammit koa…not like this"viri said with worrie.
Koa coughed a little pressing down on his stomach"dammit…he got me…but.."he paused taking a breath looking at the villagers around them.
"Get them out of here now….don't let them…kill–"koa begun before viri stopped him. She slouched down quickly as she hoisted him onto her shoulder.
"You aint dying here today you bastard were all making it through this."viri said as she glanced at rogue and mercury.
"Can you two handle him?"viri asked
Mercury looked at her giving a thumbs up"oh I deifntily can…sunshine go protect them I got this"mercury.
"No…no merc I aint losing you too I can;t…we can–"Rogue begun but he stopped her.
"Rogue they got kids with them…this guys nothing bastard doesn't have a semblance it looks like. All he is just a guy made of muscle….pretty easy"he said in confidence.
Rogue looked at mercury who had a look of condfidence in his eyes, she hestiated for a second before nodding to him. The held inferno with both hands as she rushed off with the small group toward the safehouse.
Mercury and turk stared each other down as the two assassin looked at eah other for a bit staring each other down.
"Know this young one you will be a scarfiece for our queen so says the all seeing one"turk declared
"Shut up with that bullcrap my dad killed your old cult leader porbably just someone more crazy than them"mercury countered as turk stopped for a second.
Then he began to clench his fist in anger as he seemed to seethe in rage"you are the spawn of that devil that killed her!"he shouted in rage.
"Yeah so what?"Mercury asked, raising his fist as the two began to circle each other.
Turk slowly pulled his hood off to reveal his face, underneath was a litghtish tanned man who had dark red eyes. His head was shaved as several tribal like tattoos but they were scars that were craved into his head. On his forehead he craved the unseen eyes symbol on his head.
A devoted follower who took a creepy way to praise his queen and cult.
"I was her previous protector and that bastard assassin killed like it was nothing!"he shriekd in rage.
"Well that bastard was my father marcus black. He stopped a deranged cult who thought scarfieicng kids would appease their dumb savior"mercury retorted as the two assasin glared at each other. Before finally the two lugned at each other to prove who was better.
With ren and his team they were rushing through the main courtyard toward where ruby and qrow where. They could see the two fighting tyrina in the distant. He could see ruby shot foward with her scythe in hand as she slashed at tyrina. But he quickly moved around laughing it seems as he slashed at the young huntresses. But qrow got in his way making sure his niece wasn't harmed.
"Come on we gotta help them"jaune ordered as he had his sword and shield at the ready.
"Yeah though where are the others?"nora asked worried
Ren narrowed his gaze as he prepared his machine guns"I do not know but it may be here soon"ren stated with anger but seemed to keep a calm expression.
Though soon enough they could hear footsteps rushing toward them as jaune turned to see rogue with viri who was carrying koa on her back.
"Rogue their you are"jaune said but noticed mercury wasn't with her.
"Where mercury?"jaune added
Then from behind where rogue came gunfire and grunts could be ehard. Along with the occansionally shotgun blast from a pair of metal legs.
"Hes got it…hes dealing with that turk guy right now. Where ruby and qrow?"rogue replied
"Yeah where is qrow we managed to deal with the cultist and closed off the entrance into the town for now"viri added
Koa coughed a little as jaune looked at the man clenching his he quickly took off his pack as he unzipped it pulling out some medical suppiles.
"Here lets get him patched up before he loses anymore blood"jaune said as viri nodded. She set her friend down on the ground as he held his stab wound. Blood seeped from it as the branwhen member coughed a little.
"Dammit…go…protect the villagers"koa said as he took a shallow breath.
Jaune wasn't listening as he pulled out a disnfected bottle and medical pad from a small medkit. Then he pulled the cork out with his mouth then spat it out to the side. Then he dumped the bottle onto the medical pad. Viri then lifted up koa shirt to show his wound. It went through it seems which meant he needed to do this process twice.
"Okay this going to sting"jaune warned as he quickly placed the pad on as koa cried in pain. But the knight kept his composer right now he quickly got another pad out then did the same process again. Viri fipped koa to his back as he winced in pain. Jaune then placed the pad on koa back as he softly whimpered in pain.
"Done now get him to the–"jaune begun before a loud roar could be heard.
"What the hell was that?"rogue asked as her spine tingly like she heard an ear spillitng shriek.
Ren and nora looked at each other with worry because he knew extactly what that roar belong in the courtyard was somehting he didn't think would be back after soo long.
Their clopping its hooves on the ground of the village where it stood all those years ago was the knuckleeve. It had a horse like bodie with an equnine main body and a skinless humanoid creautre seemed to fused to it. Along with that its forlegs where shaped like claws and it had hooved hing legs. The humanoid body of it had a long curved horn on its head, but it mouth looked like someone has sewn it shut. Its arms were long and elastic arms each with two clawed fingers. On its back was a human torso were boney spikes were along its spine. But several weapons were stuck in it ranging from spears, sword, axe and arrow. The creature moved in a spasmodic twitching motion before the horse reared it legs.
Ren gripped his weapon handle in anger"the knuckleleeve"ren growled in anger as his eyes looked wild.
Nora noticed this as she placed a hand on his shoulder as he looked at her.
"Calm down. If you rush in like that you could die"nora warned as ren took a deep breath but still hate hate in his eyes.
Jaune looked at viri who was frozen in fear"viri get koa and them somewhere safe we'll handle it"jaune ordered
"Okay kid but be careful, though wheres qrow?"viri asked as she slouched over picking koa up tossing him onto her shoulder.
"Him and ruby are fighting a scopiran faunus last I saw"nora answered as rogue went wide eyed at this.
Then she looked over to where ruby and qrow where seeing who they were fighting. Tyrian callows as the madman was cackling while he dodged another sword strike from qrow.
Rogue gripped her axe tight in anger"That bastard here destorying another person home…people who put in alot of effort to restore it"rogue said before her eyes went wide as she rushed forward to where tyrian was.
"Rogue wait stop–"jaune said but then turned his attention as the knukleleeve roared. Jaune looked at rogue worried hoping she wans't going to get herself killed.
Jaune looked at ren and nora as they exchanged the glance"alright if that thing can stretch its arm run around in a circle to confuse it"jaune ordered as the two nodded before rushing over to deal with the knuckleeve.
With mercury the silver haired teen quickly dodged another strike from turk as he used his enhance speed to dodge it. Though he was starting to get a little tired right now. But turk was worse for wear as a large bruise was on his cheek along with his left shoulder being dislocated.
Early he punched his arm so hard it popped out of socket but the cultist bodyguard was still kicking. Turk spat to the side as a tooth hit the ground with some blood and spit on it.
"You shall…die…here today…vermin"turk growled panting
"Really…because you lost"mercury retorted.
A loud roar could be heard as mercury looked to his left while turk smiled. Turk quickly rushed forward to drive his katar blade into mercury side. But mercury quickly turned his attention to him as he side stepped it. Then he raised his elbow to elbow dropp the cultist back of his head.
Turk groaned as this happened and he glared at mercury with anger in his eyes.
"You…willl pay….hell..spawn…you wi–"turl slurred his words but mercury then kicked him in the jaw knocking him out. Turk fell to the ground beaten and battered as mercury hocked back a spit then spat on the man.
"Shut up you crazy bastard"mercury said as he quickly dashed off to help the others.
With ruby and qrow the two were trying to deal with the scopiran faunus. Qrow blocks a jab but tyrians tail as he then counters with a sword slash. Tyrian parries his attack before he slashed at qrow widely as he laughed with each swing. Then he stopped before quickly high kicking at qrow but he ducked before he swung at him several times. Then tyrian quickly shot his stinger toward qrow to harm him but he quickly deflected the stinger.
Then he aimed his sword forward as it shot at the faunus who blocked it with tail. The scorpian faunus smiled as he lunged at him. But was launched back by an arch of fire dust, qrow looked to see ruby holding her scythe with both hand as the curved blade was ignited in fire dust. He nodded to her as tyrian quickly recovered looking at the silver eyed girl licking his lips.
"You want to be taken that badly…just like mommy"tyrian mockinly said
Ruby glared at him as anger was boiling inside her"shut up she's….she's still alive I know it"Ruby countered as she gripped her weapon tightly. The white in her eyes slowly started to draken around her silver pupils.
Qrow went wide eyed at this shaking his head"no no no….kiddio calm down!"qrow shouted in fear.
But tyrian took this opportuntiy to rush forward at the huntsman as he slashed at qrow abdomen with his blades. He gasped a little as his abdomen had a large cut across it. Tyrian arm and eyes glowed purple as he smiled at the man.
Ruby went wide eyed right now as the white of her eyes began to fully darken as she was about to lose control. But then a hand was placed on her as ruby turned to see rogue their looking at her with worry.
The blonde saw ruby eyes almost dakring just like the the tale of the silver eyed warrior. If hate and anger consumes them they could lose control and fight friend and foe.
"Ruby…calm down that bastard is lying…your mom still out their"rogue said calmly.
"No I can't he just hurt my uncle I need to I need to kil-"ruby said as stopped mid sentence at what she was going to say.
Rogue glared at tyrian but right now she has a chance to get revenge for her friend tanner. But he wouldn't want that along with her uncle.
Ruby was still glaring at the scoprian faunus who tossed her uncle to the side like it was nothing. Tyrian slowly walked forward toward the two with a crooked grin on his face.
"Ahhh your the one I fought in vale if I recall"tyrian said mockignly as his tail whipped around.
Rogue stepped forward with inferno in hand with both hands on it, as she eyed the scorpian faunus who took two very important to her.
"Yeah so what you creepy bastard"rogue retorted
"Nothing i'm just surprised your alive right now…I thought you'd die from those wounds you endure"he said smiling as he began to walked back and forth side to side mocking them.
"Its just that…after i killed that boy who screamed at me along with that other one. I hoped to finish you off…didn't I kill your….hmm who was it uncle?"he asked mockingly as he bowed slightly to them.
"Shut up you'll pay for what you did to my uncle!"ruby shouted in rage about to rush forward. But then behind her rogue pulled her back by grabbing her hood as she pulled ruby to face her. Silver eyes met orange eyes but those silver eyes were slowly filling with blackness.
"Ruby remember what you told me early….killing won't bring anyone back. And.."rogue begun before glancing over at qrow who stood up okay. But he held his side looking over at ruby with worry in his understood why he was worried as she tried to calm ruby down.
"Don't let it control you ruby okay your better than a deep breath"rogue ordered as ruby was about to say somehting but rouge glared at her. Before she knew it ruby started to close her eyes as she did as instructed. Slowly but surely she slowed her breathing down as she took some deep breaths.
Tyrian just watched bored and annoyed at what was happening.
"Could you two hurry up I have to bring her to my grace"tyrian reminded as he was ready to pounce at the two.
But soon enough ruby too another deep breath as her silver eyed were shown to be white with the pupils still being sivler. Ruby looked at rogue nodding to her as the fellow weapon tinker nodded.
"Thanks…for that"ruby quickly thanked
"Hey you help me early I might as well return the favor now lets deal with him."rogue said looking at tyrian who started to slowly walk toward them. But then he full on spritned at them as he aimed his guanlent toward them as he began to rain lead toward them. The two quickly got out of the way of the scorpion faunus gun fire.
Then tyrian used his tail as a spring as it launched him into the air toward them. As he was coming at them rogue qucikly put the infernal guanlent on her wirst. Then she opened her palm as a stream of fire shot toward the scoprian faunus. It directly imapcted tyrians aura as it flicked a little. Then as he was in the air from the side ruby pulled out her sniper then took aim at tyrian. With a pull of the trigger she shot a dust round into his side. This launched the scopiran faunus to the ground as he tumbled for a bit as he got close to rouge.
Tyrian slowly picked himself up but rogue rushed over seeing his aura shattered. A thought rushed her mind to kill him but…if he was rosemary father. She might as well return the favor for what she did to her twin sister.
Rogue raised inferno up as ruby went wide eyed expecting her to kill him.
"Rogue don't do i–"ruby begun but rouge brought the axe down.
But it was at tyrian head no it was his stinger from the rest of his tail. It bounced onto the ground as tyrian went wide eeyd in pain. Then he clenched his fist as the cut off end of his tial sprouted purple liquid to the ground.
He stand up reeling back in pain as he cried out in pain. Then he whirls to face rogue who was smiling with pride on her face as he was infuriated.
"You bitch!"tyrian screamed in rage.
"That what your daughter did to my sister you bastard"rogue begun as she chuckled looking at the severed stinger on the ground.

Tyrian tried to a few steps forward but they were awkward as they were off balance. He looked at ruby as he tried to come at her but he took alot of awkward steps because he was tired. He chuckled a little like a madman right now.
"Maybe she'll forgive me"he said to himself before quickly sprinting off away from the two.
Ruby rushed over to rogue with a worried look as the blonde tinker took a dep breath then exhaled.
"That…took alot of willpower not to take his head off"Rogue said
Ruby smiled patting rogue on the shoulder"but you did the right thing not stopping to his level"ruby said
Then from the guanelnt ember emerged as the fire spirit was smiling it seemed as she closed her eyes. The old member of her family seemed happy the girl didn't go down the path she went down many years ago.
"Good job kid….I know you wanted to avenge your friends…but…sometimes killing isn't the answer"ember stated as rogue smiled at this.
Qrow walked over holding his side as he wrapped a banaged around his wound smiling happy it seems. But he took a few deep breaths as he used his sword to keep himself up.
"Thank…remnant your okay…though lucky the bastard didn't use that stinger of his"qrow said
"Yeah we are…but what about the others their dealing with the knuckleeve"Rogue said to the two shock. But right now they needed to help qrow get to safety as they did just that.
Though right now the three along with mercury were dealing with the knuckleeve as it roared with his mouth unswen together. It swung its elongated limps at mercury who quickly dodged the grimm strike. Then he quickly kicked his leg back launching him onto a nearby roof. He began to rush across it while the knuckleeve swung its arm at him again.
But from the side several grenades were launched into the grimm. The grimm shriedk in pain as it looked at nora who stood near a stone wall. The grimm then shot its hand foward toward the girl but before it could pierce her. Nora quickly dove out of the way as it hand pierced the wall. As it was about to break free jaune rushed over with a sword from a cultist member. He spritned by as he drove the blade into its arm as it shriek in pain.
Ren was firing stromflower at the girmm as it kept twitching around all wild like then stared at him. Though something else caught its attention as close by was viri with the others as they reached a small entrance to hide. But the red panda faunus girl tripped and fell to the ground. Then one of the boys rushed back to help her up.
Time seemed to slow as ren relzied what it was doing the grimm arm slowly retracted from attacking mercury. He looked confused before glancing down at its next target. The silver haired teen doubled back as he was rushing toward the two kids to save them.
But ren gripped his weapon tight before he sprinted with all his might toward the kids. As he did time seemed to slow as the parents of said children tried to go back. But they were too far from them as a couple branwhen tribe member were rushing forward to save them. The knuckleeve arm was slowly reaching them as it got close. The hand pierced something but a pause happeend as what it pierced was the wall of the building.
Close to it was ren as he had both kids in his arms as he layed on the ground panting a little. The two kids were scared it seems but quickly ren pulled himself up and them up as well. Then the parents grabbed them hugging them.
"Thank you…thank you for rescueing my daughter"a red panda faunus women thanked
"Yes thank you"A man quickly said as ren gently nodded to them.
Then the branwhen tribe member dug his blade into the grimm hand as he trapped it in the wall. The creature cried in pain but ren looked toward the grimm with hate in his eyes. He holstered stromflower and then he took out his fathers dagger.
He slowly walked foward to the beast left arm as he raised the blade before cutting it off.
"For my mother"ren said outloud.
The creature arm fell to the ground as it wailed in pain from it. Then ren walked over toward it second arm as the others watched this happened. Once he was over their the arm was still pinned to the ground.
He raised the dagger as he sliced off the grimm right arm, the grimm cried in pain as it failed around in pain.
"For my father"ren said aloud as he then walked over to where the grimm was.
As he got closed the grimm wailed in his face but he was unfazed by it. He then raised the blade as he strikes a gash across its torso as it failed around wailing more.
"For all those that you've slain"ren said aloud as he closed his eyes.
He took a deep breath composing himself then opened his eyes as he needed to deliver the killing blow.
"For myself"ren said as he swung the knife down chopping the grimm head off. It fell to the ground dead as it died in pillar of smoke. Then ren dropps the knife and breahtes out a sign of relief only then to be tackled by nora. She was giggling happy it seems as she layed her head on his chest.
Ren sighs smiling before hugging her back as he let out a small chuckle. Soon enough the other joined them seeing their victory sighing in relief it seems. As they sat their soon enough the sound of airships could be heard. They all looked up to see three airship came flying above them toward the courtyard with the mistral symbol on them. They spotted the group below as they won today and saved the town of kuroyuri from the knuckleeve destrcutions.
About a couples hour passed as all the unseen eye were in custody except for their mysterious leader of the group. They were now all in custody but they stuck around to make sure everyone was okay. The villager were getting treated by some of the onsight mistral officers while they talked with qrow, qing and viri.
"We saw smoke coming from here. Heard this place was getting rebuilt, thought we lend a hand"the officer stated
"Yeah well the branwhen tribe has been putting in alot of good work here"qrow replied as the officer chuckled at that.
"Bandits who turned into protectors of the innocent…I like it though most of the people here need immediate medical attention. It'll take us a few days to get their but we can bring them back. "He started as he was writing in his report.
"Along with that bringing supplies and some workers to help with the town"he added
Qing bowed to the man"that would be very grateful for you sir"he thanked
"No problem sir though sir would you like a lfit to mistral?"the officer asked qrow who hestiated it seems. Close by were the others as they looked at the man, luckily tyrian didn't stab too deep when he attacked him so he should be okay.
"Yeah we could use a–"jaune begun but surpginsly ruby stopped him.
"No thank you were fine you don't need to give us a lift to mistral"Ruby said to their confusion as they were shocked because they were offered the easy route.
"Ruby what the heck we can get to haven right now if we wanted to"merucry questioned
"Yeah why shouldnt we take it i don't wanna walk more"nora groaned leaning against ren who sighed
"Were driving to haven remember nora?"ren simply reminded as she grinned at him as he sighed smiling.
"Is their a reason why we shouldn't take the airship?"jaune questioned the weapon nerd
Ruby put her hands behind her back"Well most of the people their are hurt. With uncle bad luck it might run into issues. Also we might run into yang and the others out their. Their also probably more people who need help"ruby answered as the group understood that about qrow bad luck.
But the dusty qrow just simply smiled as he sighed ruffling her hair"kiddio right whats another couple week of traveling. We need to keep an eye out for my other niece and…i do got pretty bad luck"he said
Then qrow stepped forward as immediately his metal foot got stuck in mud as he fell forward. He landed face first as his foot detached as he groaned. They all laughed a little at the man plee as they soon helped him up and reattached his foot.
"Alright if you want i can have my patrols keep an eye out for them just incase"the mistral pilot suggested
"That would be nice, thank you sir. Her name is yang xiaolong, blonde and drives a yellow sports bike."Ruby replied as soon enough the three ships started to load in its passengers. Then immediately the three ships engines roared to life as they began their ascend. Just like that they were gone off to their destination in a matter of seconds.
About an hour later everyone was loading the supplies they needed for the rest of their journey to haven. That would either be medical suppiles, ammo, food you name it. Though qing and the others wanted to send them off real quick.
"We can't thank you all enough for what you did today for our village"zuri thanked with a smile.
"Yes without you all the work we've put would've gone to waste. I wish you the best luck on your journey sir"viri said to qrow sho chuckled.
"Well i'm sure we'll get their just fine…but problem is whos gonna drive"he stated because he still injured and he rather not see his ride destroyed because of these kids. Most of them were bad options except maybe ren or mercury.
"Oh let me drive i'm a master driver!"nora excitedly said as they all agreed without a word not to let nora drive because she end up wrecking it or killing them.
"Nora you don't have a driver licenses"ren simply said calmling his girlfriend down.
"Uhh i don't have one either"ruby added
Rogue sighed"i don't either bummer…merc?"rogue asked looking toward mercury who cupped his chin.
"I've driven alot while we traveled on the road sometimes. Plus let give the old man a break he needs to rest"merucry said as qrow glared at him for a bit before tossing his keys to him.
"Don't scratch my ride kid or else"he warned as the silver haired boy smiled.
"I won't"he replied as they were getting ready to leave but qrow looked toward viri with a serious look.
"Hey viri"he called out to his tribemember who looked at him.
"Yes sir, what is it?"she answered
"If someone comes by and saying is their a dusty qrow around give him one of those horses you got here"qrow ordered as viri nodded to him understanding.
They were getting ready get in the jeep to continue their trip to was with nora as soon enough those two kids from early rushed over to the two. Their parents were with then as the kids had small boxes in their hands.
"Hello your those kids that the knuckleeeve almost hurt"ren said kneeling to them a little.
"Yes, we can't thank you enough for saving them"the women thanked again.
"Along with that we have a small gift for you"he said catching their interest. Nora looked at as he glanced at her. The kid were excited as they presented too boxes gesutirng for them to take them.
Ren took one while nora took the other. The two then opened the repsecitve boxes to see the content inside them. Inside the boxes was a small pin it seems. For noras it was a lighting bolt going across a hammer her symbol but a hair pin instead. While for ren it was a small pin of a pink and green lotus flower.
"How'd you two make those so fast?"mercury questioned.
The man chuckled"semblance lets me make objects that I want though it uses alot of aura. Made that one after you rescue my kid from the woods."he said pointing to ren.
"I made the second about an hour ago…you two lovebrids might as well match"he added as nora chuckled a little presenting the pin like the holygrail. While ren examined it smiling a little before looking at the man bowing to him.
"Thank you this gift. I'll treasure it on our journey"ren thanked as he imemdialty placed the pin on his collar. Nora then clipped the hair pin near the right side of her head. She smiled at ren who returned it.
"Along with that i also come to give something to you young man"qing said stepping forward ren which confused him. The old man had a long case in hand as he presented it to him.
"What is this?"ren asked kneeling down taking it.
"Its a gift that i hope you'll use on your journey."qing said as ren eyed it for a moment opening the case. Inside he went wide eyed, their sat a green bow that had a pink and black paint as it seemed to resemble a fleur de lis.
"Whoa is that his dads?"nora asked stary eyed but he corrected her.
"No its the same design as his but i'll keep that here for his grave. This is yours your journey will be long. And you'll need everything you can get."qing said as ren gently took the bow out of the case. He then gently strapped it to his back. Then out of generosity he bowed to the old master who returned it.
"Thank you. My father taught me how to use a bow. I'm proud to have met you"ren thanked which made the man just nod as a good gesture.
"Alright if were done here lets get thai show on the road"qrow said as the group agreed. They all loaded into the jeep to continue their took the driver seat as qrow took the passenger seat. The others piled into the back into their respective seats. Then they drove off toward their destination to haven. But before they left some saw the villager waving to them thanking them it seems. The group ws content with that as they continued their journey.
Though in the land of darkness where salem resides she sat in a room with lamia as she drank a glass of red wine. As she sat their soon enough a small portal opens up as tyrian along with flora stepp through it. The scoprian faunus falls to the ground on his knees as close by a women who wore a cloaked rushed over to him.
"What happened my darling?"she asked in a soft tone.
Tyrian instead looked up at his mistresses with both hands to the ground. Then he started to bow his head repeatedly to her.
"I'm sorry..she'll forgive me….pleeeeasssee"tyrian softly said as he bowed again on the last word.
"Forgive me"he softly said
"Tyrian!"salem shouted as she slowly got up from her seat walking toward him. As she did the cloaked women kneeled to her but a deathstalkers stinger could be seen underneath her cloak.
Salem then stood before tyrian with a menancing aura around her but he raised his bodie. He remains sitting on his legs as he began to shake his head.
Salem extended one hand out imperially"your task…were you both successful"salem asked looking at flora who bowed her head.
"No ma'am…i am deply sorry the town still remains standing .If you wish to give me a punishment I shall take it"flora said as she bowed down before and set the seer staff on her side. Salem looked at the cultist leader before moving her figner up to make the fuanus women stand.
Flora did as she stared at salem who placed a hand on top of the women head"its fine, but I shall need to take something from you for failing me"salem said
Flora nodded as she extended her left arm out"take this my mistresses for you"flora said as salem looked at the cloaked women next to her. She nodded and the cloak women then extended her hand but her left hand was that of a deathstalker claw.
She placed her claw on flora arm where the elbow was and then snapped her claws shut. The faunus women barely reacted as her arm flopped to the ground. Then she bowed to salem waiting for her to dismiss her.
"You are dismissed take her to watts"salem ordered as lamia stepped forward escorting the cult leader to watts.
Then she looked down at tyrian waiting for thim to answer"callows were you successful"she spoke with annoyance in her voice.
"No…no my grace"tyrian said sadly as salem also looked surprised for a moment before she narrowed her eyes and walked away.
Tyrian started to beg,grovleing before his mistresses as he turned to her"please..not all hope it lost….I stabbed qrow! He will not be a nusiance anyfurther….I know who she travels with…i've done that please…tell me I have have I pleased you?"he begged
Salem turned glancing at him shaking her head side to side"no you havent the last eye is blinded…you disapoint me"salem coldly said leaving the man.
Soon enough tyrian falls forward wailing now as from a small side room a beowulf approaches him. The scoprian faunus kept wailing for a a bit as the beowolf trained in on him. Then it leaps at him trained in on his negative emotions. Though tyrian sends the grimm flying away with a single blow as it landed on its back. Still wailing he opens his weapons as he leaps atop of the beowolf.
He begins to slash at it repeatedly several times with tears streaming down his face. His wails soon becomes laughter after a few more slashes and then he vents his grief as he starts to butcher the grimm. The cloaked deathstalker knight seemed to bite her lip in glee watching the butchering of the grimm.
With Oscar he soon enough reaches a small train station as he was wiaitng underneath a covered platform as it started to rain. He covered his head as it poured and soon enough he reached the platform as he walked over to a ticket machine.
While he walked over to it it said"welcome scan lien to begin"it said. Oscar grabbed a lien card against a scanner as the he slide the card. After a bit of time the machine ding telling him accepted. He lucky he saved up some money for those odds jobs he did back home.
"Tranaction completed have a nice day"the machine said as it disppesed the ticket.
Oscar grabbed it smiling"alright next stop higanbani then kuroyuri"oscar delcared produly holding his ticket up. Then a small gust of wind went by laucnhing his ticket in the wind.
"Oh no no no"oscar rushed foward toward his ticket then luckily he caught it before it blew away. He smiled at his success for retrieving his ticket.
"Thank remnant that would have been bad"oscar saif to himself as ozpin chuckled in his head.
"It would have though its time for us to board the train"ozpin voice rung in his head. Oscar nodded then he boarded the train. The train roared to life as it took him toward hignanbani.
About ten hours he got to the town and stopped for a small break their until he decided to cross the trecheous terrain by himself toward kuroyuri. Ozpin made him take a different path to avoid unnecessary grimm and bandits.
On day one he ran into a couple grimm but dealt with them with ozpin guidance. Then on the second he had to manuever around a small cliffside luckily making it around the third he tumbled down a small hill but luckily didn't get on the fourth and final day he made it toward a cliffside looking down at the town of kuroyuri.
It looked damaged a little but several people were hard at work it seemed rebuilding the village
"Finally here"oscar said to himself as he made his way toward the village.
It didn't take him long as he began to walk through the village seeing everyone hard at work rebuilding the place. As he began to walk through it soon enough he made it to the chieftians house. Their outside qing along with koa who seemed to be doing better along with viri were outside.
Qing looked up at the young farm boy studying him"you their boy you seem bring you too our town?"he asked
"Yeah don't ger many visitor out here except about five days ago"koa answered
"Oh well umm i'm looking for transprotation to mistral and where the huntsman academy is"oscar replied
Viri raised an eye at this as she slwoly reached for a side arm noticed this as he thought of something to say.
"Oscar tell them is their a dusty qrow around"ozpin stated as his voice rung in his head.
Oscar hesitated for a moment before taking a deep breath"is their a dusty qrow around here?"oscar asked
Viri seemed to relax by those words before she looked around then back at oscar. She titled her head to follow him and he did. After a bit of time she led him to some small horse stables. A horse already had a saddle on it along with some small suppiles on it.
"Qrow said you be here got this ready for you two days ago"viri said
"Really umm how did he know?"oscar asked
"Beats me. Though if your wondering where he is probably at haven by now. Drove their by jeep probably their by now"viri said as she guided the horse by its reigns toward oscar.
Oscar then jumped onto the horse back as it pulled its hovoes back but oscar gently rub the side of the horse head.
"Good girl…easy"oscar said calmly as viri looked at him.
"Let me guess you've ridden one before"viri asked knoowingly as oscar nodded to her.
"Yeah i've lived on a farm for a while. Uh thank you ma'am"oscar replied
"Don't worrie about it tell qrow next time you see him that we might be done here within a year maybe."viri said walking off. Oscar looked at her before grbabign the reigns on the horse then whipped them back a little. The horse kicked it legs up as it then started to gallop through the woods as oscar began his way toward mistral.
But right now in the middle of the woods where its night time right now was rogue and the others as they made camp right now. She was off to the side as she leaned against a nearby tree. The blonde reached into her pouch pulling something out.
The group photo they all took together before the final round. She smiled at it a little as soon a couple tears dropped onto staining it slightly. Then she rubbed them away sniffing wishing the friends she lost were here. Soon enough merucry walked over as she looked at him.
The silver haired teen hugged her for a bit as she returned it. After that he guided her back to the campfire where everyone was. Ren and nora were sitting next to each other as nora leaned against him. Ren examined his new weapons in hand as he dubbed it lotus. While qrow sat on a rock with harbinger at the ready for any attack. But he smiled at ruby who was talking about the good times they had at beacon.
Along with her being excited they'll be getting to haven soon and hoped to see some of their friends their. While jaune was close by sharpening his sword as he glanced at his waist. He looked upset a little at the red sash around his waist, he wished pyrrha was here with him still.
But next time he see bonnie thanatos he'll make sure he doesn't loose anymore people he cares about because of her. Soon rogue and mercury joined the group as they relaxed a little before continuing their journey to haven.
Ruby though was worried about her sister yang wondering and hoping she was oaky. But right now yang was driving through the anima on her way toward the new branwhen tribe base camp. Emerald held onto her back tight hoping mercury was okay. While bashira hoped that her teammates were safe at haven.
They all were on their way to complete certain task and mission. But what they don't expect is what will happen when they reach haven academy. Along with when the attack happens from the white fang. That some familair faces may be their some alive and some thought to be dead.
This chapter is long I know, but I wanted to cover everything I needed to cover for this volume. But this is the last chapter as it seems tyrian lost his stinger instead of his head from rogue. Though ren got two gifts for helping his home. As they continue their way onto havan to hopefully stop another fall.
