Chapter 6

AEW Rampage

Mandy was making her way to the ring. "Well I'm very happy to see Mandy Rose is coming out here alone. She is a great wrestler in own right and doesn't need the Outcasts," Tony Schiavone says. "Mandy Rose and Saraya go way back. And you got a problem with friends Tony?" Chris Jericho replies. "I have a problem with The Outcasts tactics. If Mandy Rose is going to beat Jamie Hayter do it fairly," Tony says as Mandy finishes her entrance. Jamie Hayter makes her entrance she is also alone with no sign of Britt Baker. Jamie hands the title belt to the referee. Excalibur reminds fans that if Mandy wins she get a title shot but if she loses she can never challenge while Jamie Hayter is champion.

The referee calls for the bell. Mandy and Jamie move right into a lock up. Jamie with a head lock takeover gets the early edge. Mandy tries to get free but finally has to go for the ropes for a break. Both women stand back up. Exchange of chops at first it's even but Jamie starts to hit the more powerful ones. Irish whip by Jamie who knocks Mandy over. "Jamie Hayter's power giving her a huge advantage," Excalibur says as Mandy rolls to the floor. Jamie allows Mandy to climb back into the ring. "Mandy Rose making a mistake her trying to match power and strength with Jamie Hayter," Tony says. As if hearing him Mandy ducks under a lock up attempt and comes back with a clothesline that knocks Jamie back. This than gives Mandy a chance to go for her springboard bulldog. But Jamie is catches her instead and hits a backbreaker. Jamie covers count of one count of two Mandy kicks out.

Jamie pulls Mandy up and hits a fishermen's buster. Another cover by Jamie count of one count of two. Mandy kicks out at the very last second. Jamie knows she is fully in control and plays to the crowd getting cheers. Mandy gets back up and rolls Jamie up but only gets a one count. Mandy hits a power slam and grabs a chin lock. Jamies powers free and gets back to her feet. Mandy runs the ropes and and goes for a Thez press, Jamie catches her and hits a belly to belly suplex. Mandy sits up but all that does is let Hayter hit the sliding lariat. Cover by Jamie count of one, count of two Mandy kicks out. "I don't think Mandy Rose has much left. Jamie Hayter just at a higher level," Jericho claims.

Jamie gets a hold of Mandy's wrist and pulls her up looking for Hayteraid. Mandy ducks it and gets a school girl count of one count of two. Jamie gets free. Both women are back up and Mandy gets an inside cradle count of one count of two. Jamie gets her shoulder up. Both women are back up and Mandy hits the magic lace. Knee facebuster by Mandy. "Jamie Hayter is rocked," Excalibur says as the champ stumbles back after taking the move. Mandy goes for her bicycle knee but Jamie's moves sending Mandy into the ropes. On the rebound Jamie hits a release German suplex. "She should of gone for the bridge there she might of gotten a pin," Jericho says. "Good point Chris but I don't think she could hold the bridge. Jamie Hayter is still dazed from that facebuster," Excalibur replies.
"Sometimes that is how it is. You take that one shot and you don't really recover," Tony adds.

Jamie gets up first and sets for the HateBreaker and lands it. Jamie covers count of one count of two Mandy kicks out and rolls to the floor again. "We keep kicking dirt on her grave but Mandy Rose keeps fighting back," Tony says. Jamie sticks her head between the ropes and Mandy hits right hand. Jamie slumps and than Mandy pulls her to the flor and hits a power slam. Mandy dives back into the ring. "This is smart. Mandy Rose doesn't have to pin Hayter she just has to win. It can be via countout," Jericho says. The referee is counting and has reached seven. "Eight, Nine..." Jamie dives into the rign last second. Thez press by Mandy and she slams Jamie's head into the mat. Mandy gets up and hits Goddes Falls before she covers count of one count of two, Jamie kicks out.

Mandy sets for Bed of Roses but Jamie Blocks it and back body drops her. "What is she doing out here?" Tony asks as Saraya makes her way to ring side. Jamie with a running clothesline knocks Mandy back down. Saraya jumps up on the apron. The referee goes to get her down. Jamie is setting up for Hayteraid again. Ruby Soho jumps out of the crowd and hits no future. Jamie goes down. "Not like this," Tony yells as Ruby puts Mandy on top. The referee turns around and counts. Count of one count of two... Jamie kicks out. Saraya jumps back up and is screaming at the ref he is counting to slow.

Toni Storm now comes out of the crowd and grabs the women's title belt. Jamie ducks the attempted shot and grabs the title away. She hits Toni. Ruby jumps back up and she goes after her. But at the last second Ruby moves and Mandy gets hit just as the referee turns back around. The bell sounds. "Ladies and gentlemen, the referee has disqualified Jamie Hayter. The winner and earning a AEW women's championship match Mandy Rose." Saraya, Toni, and Ruby celebrate and help Mandy up. "Was this the plan?" Excalibur asks.

Backstage

Mandy was getting checked out by the trainer. Lexy Nair walks up her with a microphone. "Mandy can we get a word?" Lexy asks. "Now?" Mandy says annoyed and clearly in pain. "I'm sorry. But Mandy The Outcasts came out to help you. We know you are history prior to AEW. Have you joined them?" Lexy asks. Mandy looks at Lexy annoyed. "Lexy I think I get why Athena hates you," Mandy yells. "I'm sorry. But everyone saw what happened out there," Lexy says. "Did you see me get hit in the face with a belt?" Mandy asks. Lexy is about to speak but Mandy cuts her off. "Just get out of here!"

Being The Elite

Riley and Kenny were backstage in the Elie's dressing room for the week. "We need to talk," Riley says after a second. "You want advice on being world champion?" Kenny asks. "I've been a world champion before Kenny," Riley reminds him. "Yeah but I was AEW world champion for three hundred forty six days that is three hundred thirty two day more than you," Kenny says. "I just won the title two weeks ago Kenny," Riley says getting annoyed. "Well what is is that you did want to talk about?" Kenny asks. "Hangman," Riley says. Kenny doesn't say anything and his face is emotionless. "Look Kenny when it comes to trusting..."

The door can heard opening and in walks Callis. "Oh hey I m ust taken a wrong turn. Because it looks like I'm in the champion's room," Don says with a big shit eating grin. "Hey Don," Kenny says while Riley just looks annoyed. "Hope I'm not interrupting but Kenny I need a minute right now. Nothing to big but just some dotting i's and crossing t's with Mr. Barry," Don says. "Oh yeah sure. Just give us a moment. I'll fine you later. Riley and I were just in the middle of something," Don claims. Don snaps his fingers. "You know what Riley, Christopher Daniels is looking for you. Something really important he says," Don says. "Really?" Riley says suspiciously. "Yeah, something about needing the world champion in some place," Don claims. "Go ahead man take care of it," Kenny says. "Yeah sure," Riley says before he gets up and exits the Culter/The Camera following him.

"You know Cutler a lot is going on," Riley says. "You mean like that," Cutler says turning to see Mandy walking into a room with Saraya. "Wait," Riley says turning back and actually running into Daniels who is coming around a corner. "Easy champ where you going?" Daniels says. "I guess I was looking for you. I hear you needed something," Riley says. Daniels looks confused. "I don't need anything from you," Daniels finally says. Riley starts to move back to the locker room with Cutler following him. When he gets back the room is empty.

Rental Car Omaha NE days later

Mandy reached over and took Riley's hand. "It's just getting out of the car right?" Riley says. "It's getting out of the car to see your parent's grave for the first time since the funeral. Some people's grief is so bad they can't even get out of bed," Mandy says. "Helps I have you," Riley says before taking a deep breath and opening the car door. They climb out of the car. Riley gets two bouquets of flowers out of the back seat. They walk to the gravesites. "Am I supposed to talk?" Riley asks. "There aren't any rules," Mandy assures him. "Just I've seen people talk on TV but is that just a TV thing," Riley says. "I think some people talk because it helps them. Other people don't talk because it helps them," Mandy says.

Riley kneels and looks at the headstones. "Hi mom, hi dad. Well I'm a world champion again. Remember how we used to joke if I would ever win a championship when you could watch on TV. Well I finally did. Although when I won the ROH TV title you were watching the Huskers when it aired. And when I won the ROH world title I think you were on a cruise," Riley says with a a bit of a laugh. Mandy just listened as he kept going. "But I checked and there was nothing on TV you two would of watched. And I did it at the Forum. So yeah dad technically I'm on a list with Jerry West. No mom I wasn't really hurt I've told you a million times it's called selling. Mandy's here by the way," Riley says. "Hello Robert, Ivy," Mandy says. "We are still trying. If you two were here man you'd have so many idea for things like names, and toys we should get," Riley says a tear starting to fall.

Outside of Riley's childhood home

Mandy had wanted to go in with him but Riley asked her to wait in the car. Looking at the other cars in the driveway it was clear he was the last to arrive. He entered the house without knocking. His three siblings turn to him silent. "You're late," Julia the oldest and his only sister says. "We said two it's one fighty eight," Riley says. "I don't even know why we are doing this," Scott Riley's older brother says. "Right because we aren't doing what you want?" Josh the youngest snaps. "No it's because we aren't just doing the only thing that make sense. We should just sell the house and split the money," Josh says. "Mom loved this house and put years of care into. She and dad wanted one of us to have it," Julia claims.

"Julia you just built a new house last year. Riley lives in Florida, Josh just took a job in Colorado and I spend my time in Lincoln now," Scott rans. "There is no reason to get upset," Riley says. "I am just asking everyone to think. What made this house a home is gone," Scott says. Both Julia and Josh look disgusted. "He's right guys. Unless you two have changed your mind than move in. Otherwise we should sell," Riley says. "Why you have a show to go wreslte on," Julia says looking at Riley angerly. "What do you want Julia? I feel bad enough. But it's not like mom or dad were sick. You want me to feel like shit? I already do but I won't let you attack for something out of my control," Riley says.

"I mean you could have been here since the funeral," Josh claims. "Yeah you had to walk around with a fake championship," Julia snaps. "Maybe the reason I haven't been here is every time I try to talk to one of you three snap at me. And I've had enough! You want a person to get mad at how about the guy in the other car?!" Riley yells. They all stay silent. "Look I love you three. But enough is enough," Riley finishes. When they don't respond, Riley makes up his mind. He gets up and walks out after saying. "Do what you want with the house. And split it among yourselves." "Oh right you are making tons of money playing the grieving son on TV," Julia snaps. With that Riley walks out without looking back.

AEW Road To

"Rush is a world class competitor. He's been a two time Ring of Honor world champion, he's won championships and big matches every where he's been," Excalibur says. "It's very fitting his logo is The Bull because he hits like one. Rush takes one or two shots to do the kind of damage some guys need ten minutes to inflict," Tony Schivone says. "Riley Morgan wanting to be the fighting champion is something to admire. But I see this as a stupid risk. Rush can easily walk out of Dynamite the new AEW world champion," Taz says. All this time highlight of Rush destroying guys in AEW have been playing. The show shift to LFI. "Riley Morgan I don't know if you courageous or stupid. Either you have esstinally handed the AEW world title to Rush," Jose says confidently. Rush speaks in Spanish but subtitles appear on screen in English. "I am going to rip your apart and take great joy in making you the shortest reining AEW champion."

Finally the shot shift to Riley who looks into the camera. "I am going to enjoy proving everyone wrong again. And in a few weeks at Revolution when everyone doubts me I will enjoy proving them wrong even more. I didn't do this whole reborn, forged in fire thing for kicks. I didn't go after the world title to be a one time fluke champion. I did it because my goal is to become the top guy in AEW. So Rush I want your best shot. Because your a hell of a name to put down next my first successful title defense," Riley says.
