After an eventful night of the annual trick-or-treating festivities, some of the Smashers that had participated gathered around the long table where many dinners were held, excitedly sorting through their individual Halloween candy hauls. The grand hall was still adorned with spooky decorations, and the atmosphere was one of camaraderie and anticipation. Among the group were Bowser Jr. and Lemmy Koopa, who had both amassed a pile of colorful candy and were busy boasting about their respective treasures.
As the room buzzed with excitement, Bowser Jr. and Lemmy Koopa had claimed their respective candy piles and were busy boasting about their haul.
Lemmy, with a mischievous grin, leaned in close to Bowser Jr. and taunted, "Looks like I got more candy than you, Junior."
Bowser Jr., his competitive spirit flaring up, retorted, "Yeah, but my candy's a whole lot better than what you got!"
All Lemmy could do in return was chuckle back at him, flicking a piece of candy him, who swiftly ducked. "Better? Please, I've got all the coolest candies! Look at this pack of these sour gummy snakes!"
Bowser Jr. scoffed, tossing in his direction a bright blue jawbreaker with rainbow specks throughout it in return. "Oh yeah? Well, I've got the jawbreaker of doom! It's like a taste explosion in your mouth!"
Lemmy caught the jawbreaker precisely and raised an eyebrow as he chuckled back at him. "Taste explosion, you say? Ha... More like a chipped tooth, if you ask me!"
Junior grinned, holding up a lollipop with neon green wrapping protecting the sweet treat inside of it. "Yeah? Well, I've got the legendary lollipop sword. You're just a candy peasant!"
Lemmy, undeterred, brandished a chocolate bar. "Peasant, you say? Well, I've got this! It says on this wrapper that this is the 'chocolate brick of power.' It's way cooler!"
Their bickering escalated like a typical sibling rivalry, and the singular pieces of wrapped candy were tossed back and forth as if it were an impromptu game of catch. Some of them ended up missing their mark entirely and hitting a couple of the other fighters that were minding their own business. Bowser Jr. and Lemmy were so caught up in their squabble that they didn't notice what they were causing.
Wendy O. Koopa, the only girl among the Koopalings, couldn't resist joining in. Normally she wouldn't get involved in whatever it was the boys in the room were up to, as it normally spelled out trouble nine out of ten times, but this time was different.
She playfully launched a piece of candy at Lemmy, who ducked, causing it to hit Roy, who was sitting nearby. Roy retaliated by tossing stray pieces of candy corn that had fallen to the table in front of him towards Larry.
The Koopaling that was sitting nearby, dodged it in time and chimed in, "Hey, you two, you're making a mess! And you forgot about my candy corn cluster I got!"
Meanwhile, as Larry was showing off what he had in his grasp, Morton swiped it from him and made it his own. "Guess it's mine now!"
In the midst of the pieces of candy being thrown back and forth by the Koopalings present, Junior started to erupt with a case of the giggles, a mischievous idea already hatched in his brain. He got up from his seat briefly before standing on his chair to a point where he was sure everyone's attention would be received.
"Candy fight!" he shouted as loud as he possibly could.
What he had exclaimed acted as a magical incantation, those two little words putting everyone under its trance. Suddenly, all across the grand hall, the Smashers began tossing candy at one another. Pieces of it hit their designated targets as expected while others weren't so lucky and did nothing but go flying far from them, creating a mess of candy across the once-spotless flooring below them.
On the opposite side of the dining table, Villager used his trusty slingshot to fire candy projectiles at his fellow fighters, chuckling to himself shortly aftewrads with a smile. Meanwhile, Mewtwo, the psychic Pokémon directly to his right, lifted candy into the air with his telekinesis and launched it at top speed.
The hall became filled with laughter and the delightful sounds of candy ricocheting to and fro through the air. Kirby, always up for fun, inhaled a candy, turning into a bouncing candy-filled sphere as he used his coping abilities. He rolled around the room, spreading sugary chaos.
Pikachu and Pichu, the electrifying duo, used their electric shocks to levitate candy into the air with their electricity, creating a spectacular light show at their portion of the table in the process. As the candy fight ensued, more and more Smashers joined in the mayhem, each using their unique skills to their advantage.
Toon Link, agile and swift, ducked and weaved as candy whizzed past him. He retaliated by flicking a piece of candy with his slingshot, hitting Pit on the cheek unexpectedly.
Olimar, with their tiny army of Pikmin, had a cunning strategy, launching a coordinated attack and sending their Pikmin to grab candy and fling it towards their opponents. Pikachu, caught off guard, yelped as a yellow Pikmin tossed a candy at his face and knocked him off his seat.
"Candy aura!" proclaimed Lucario, using his own abilities to redirect an incoming candy onslaught with the help of his aura. His focus was unwavering until Kirby, in his candy-filled form, rolled into Lucario, sending the candy he focused on redirecting away from him flying into the air and scattering in all directions.
Sonic, at the same time, used his lightning-fast reflexes to snatch candy out of the air with ease, speeding around the room and delivering retribution to the Smashers around him. The once-elegant Palutena, now sporting candy sprinkles in her hair, levitated candy with her divine powers, sending them back at her opponents with celestial precision.
Wolf, sly and cunning as ever, used his sharp claws to slash pieces of candy out of the air as two of the Koopalings were throwing them in his direction. As he deflected these from getting near him, he growled under his breath and casted an evil glare back at them. "Stop that, you two brats!" However, his grumbling words ended up being cut short when a stray Halloween cupcake hit him square in the face, leaving a splat of bright purple icing where it did.
As the candy fight reached its peak, Bowser couldn't resist joining in. He grabbed a marshmallow cup candy and took it out of its neon package before unleashed a small but mighty breath of fire onto it, practically roasting it into the equivalent of a piping-hot s'more. He threw it like a baseball pitcher, but it avoided anyone and ended up leaving a mark on the wall clear on the other side of the area.
As candy flew in all directions, the room was filled with laughter and jubilation. It was a free-for-all of sugary delight, a reminder that even in the midst of the Smash tournament when everyone's competitive nature came through the strongest, the fighters could come together on a holiday like this for a moment of whimsical fun when it's least anticipated.
However, the unexpected chaos attracted the attention of Master Hand, who materialized into the room sternly. "What on earth is going on here?" he bellowed sternly.
The room fell silent as the fighters stopped tossing candy and all looked guiltily toward the towering hand in unison, the same look of surprise on their faces.
Meta Knight, always one for precision and formality, stood up and saluted. "It appears, sir," he replied, "that we were engaged in a... um, candy exchange."
Master Hand twitched, and everyone could tell that he was clearly not buying the improvised explanation. "Candy exchange, you say?" he answered. With his tone raised once again, he added, "Well, I think it's time for this candy exchange to cease!"
Just as the fighters were about to comply, Snake wandered in from outside, shaking his head with a frown when he saw everything that had went on from the time he had left. Being someone with a very serious demeanor, he was not the type that participated in any of the festivities of Halloween, and what he had walked in on proved his reasons for not doing so.
He sighed as his attention turned from the candy disaster and over towards Master Hand. "I don't know what's going on in here," he said, "but I'm definitely not involved in whatever this is."
